there are many things you can do with ocs! some ocs are simply not suited to complex plots: some worlds are better for short stories centred around a one-off character. some ocs are good for dating sims or esoteric psychological horror rpgmaker games or point and click adventure games or fucking. tetris remakes idfk

you can also make songs about your ocs! or interactive multimedia webseries (link rot is a great example)! or you can make analysis posts of media that doesnt exist and gush about the parallels between smeep and the other guy (those are two ocs of mine and i go crazyinsane about them)! or you can make up plots of musicals! you can make a conlang! you can make items of clothing inspired by your oc! you can make a fake wikipedia page!

and like ,,, what youre describing is, to my understanding, the job of a director. you arent the person doing the lighting or the makeup or costuming or even a ton of the writing, but you are the person in control of the artistic direction. and, not to say that directors just dont do anything because they definitely do and pitching your ideas is a doozy but "i sit around and think about my guys while other people make a show about them" is not an unreachable goal

the current look-at-able stuff ive made for my ocs are in-canon explanations of fundamental parts of the lore. i think its a fun way to impart information!

my point is that you should look at your options for making art because there is so much more than writing or drawing. take my hand. we will install rpgmaker together

Just indulging in my favorite ship. Shrimpo and RnD are married and live together now. Shrimpo married both of them, but before I get any questions I will indeed clarify that Razzle and Dazzle are NOT together, they just share Shrimpo.

Taking inspiration from ‘The Ways of a House Husband’, I think Shrimpo would take the housewife role in the relationship. He cooks, cleans, does everything a perfect wife would. Although, I imagine Shrimpo failing at a lot of chores and end up getting frustrated and not do it, but he will try again later. I already headcanoned him to be a good chef, so cooking is not problem for him

Razzle and Dazzle have jobs, I don’t know what kind of job but I’m thinking they’re both professional actors now (Voice actors? Movie actors?). They earn money and support the house. They like to spend as much time with Shrimpo when they have the chance. Razzle is the more overly clingy type while Dazzle is too shy to ask for affection. I like this dynamic because I think Razzle and Dazzle wouldn’t be too effected by Shrimpo’s bullying; Razzle finds it funny while Dazzle agrees since he’s just pessimistic that way.

I want to draw more of their marriage, I think drawing them together is fun. I’m also still trying to come up with a ship name to call them by, so far I only have Drama Club but I think that’s too vague to use. Please give me a suggestion ┐( ˘_˘)┌

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and that it worked so well for you! Some of the notes you had are definitely things I want to revisit -- "occupants" are a holdover from when I still thought I was going to be able to fit a combat system in, and then I kept them around because I wanted them as the basis for the friendly encounter. In general anything that poses a danger, like hazardous obstacles, was stuff I decided I would have to come back to later.

Bosses are similar, but I was even more worried about them because I wasn't sure how to randomly generate a challenging boss encounter in a way that would scale (the combat system I was thinking about at did involve ways to spend XP in order to increase more directly combat-related stats). I hadn't really thought about it, but the wandering spearmaster and the dragon of the mines in your notes got me thinking that the legend aspect could be a way to generate boss concepts, but I'm still not sure how to implement them.

Making "Map it" the last step in generating the room rather than the first makes a lot of sense to me. Originally it went first because I was picturing someone drawing a physical map, but as a sort of mind-map style "draw a circle and connect it to the previous circle with a line" type deal.

In retrospect that was an overly narrow assumption, based on what I tend to do (draw a circle and then put descriptive notes in/around it). Putting it last makes it more flexible, and it also means that if mapping the room is what puts you over the threshold for spending XP, you've already defined the room's challenges before you define your solution.

This is a lot of rambling without a specific endpoint, but -- thank you! I had a lot of fun writing this, and it means a lot that someone would play it, and let me know how it went. <3

Something something happy pride month

(Ramble under the cut)

Since I’m drawing Jamil and Kalim to like every romance song in existence, of course I had to draw them to mr. Lovernan; its only natural! And this song fits them so well too… the ways that Kalim talks to Jamil are so sickenly sweet and loving, they make Jamil wish he was gone. I think it’s so perfect to have that one voiceline where Kalim says Jamil’s name, but not with his usual trust or love or kindness, but rather with disbelief, fear, and confusion. That way the song can have a double meaning for them! Kalim’s sweet words make Jamil sick, but when Jamil’s plans fell apart and Kalim called out for him, confused and refusing to believe that his closest companion would betray him, it still makes Jamil’s stomach churn. I bet that sometimes Jamil wishes Kalim could just shut up.

But Jamil still cares about Kalim, still remembers when they were friends. Their relationship is complex, and though he hates it, I think he still does love and care deeply about Kalim, but all those feelings are just in a very weird and difficult place. I absolutely adore that double meaning! The ways in which Kalim talks to Jamil makes Jamil feel a lot of things, negative, positive, and he hates it. But “wishing i were gone” and “running on and on” can apply to both his negative feelings of desperation, hatred, loathing and disgust, and also those feelings that deep inside make him wish their situations were different, that things didn’t end up like this. Jamil lies a lot, also to himself, and all his feelings are so tangled and stuck (dude is super emotionally constipated and needs therapy fr). I LOVE the character development Jamil and Kalim got in book 6 and 7, because they’re slowly making their way towards building a healthier, mutual relationship, and I’m so happy for them! I will be eagerly awaiting the day their relationship is fixed, and they’re happy with themselves, eachother, and life

Drawing has been really difficult again; im busy with school and I can’t get myself motivated to draw. Social Media has also been bumming me out. I’m really sensitive, and there’s been a lot of negativity on my fyps and timelines, which has just killed my mood. Good news also though- the twst anime finally got a release date??! I have been waiting for this for YEARS, and I can’t wait to see our boys animated and for the fandom to grow and for new merch! Some questions regarding Atom because I absolutely loved this game and I've been non-stop drawing this spaguetti alien...

Are there any other songs you thought of when creating Atom's personality or that you wanted to include a reference to in the game? (aside from Moon Waltz, but that one already fits perfectly).

When Atom said that one day they would like to go "swimming" with the MC, did they really meant float around space or also visit other planets? Places? Maybe their home planet?

QOTSA's one of my husband's favorite bands for the past year so the amount of times I've listened to this in the car has been one too many /lh It's soft and slow and heavy and eurghhh;; I think about the line "I sing only for you" a lot,,, plus a few other lines but you guys can make the connections if you happen to have a listen! Otherwise I'm gonna go off on a tangent that's way too long haha:

Atom being Atom they meant it literally haha! There's nowhere else for them to be other than near you, and they like the idea of a romantic outing floating among the stars. They think it's a lovely activity to do together; like that Wall-E and EVE dancing in space scene. Very cute very wholesome. Plus they're more used to being outside than in. Of course with MC's phobia, it might take a while for them to agree,,,

3. What did they mean when they said they've seen worse?

They've taken over bigger ships than the Bidadari in their search for you. That's all I'll say!

4. Is Atom still going to use the suit or is there any other way for it to move around (human-like that is)?

Considering their characteristics, yes they're still using the suit. Currently, there's no other way for it to move around that could pass as human. The main reason they use the suit is because they didn't wanna scare you on sight. Besides, they're more comfortable with the suit (and they're fully aware you don't like it when they touch you directly, so the suit helps). In fact, they'd be happy to occupy two or more of them so you can have an army of Atoms at your beck and call!

Your figures have very impressive shape language, how do you typically draw a figure?

Here is their body types sketched out, if it makes sense, I hope !

Scratch doesn’t look much like Scout in the face, since my intention was to make it almost like a ‘main-character’ look lol ! With snap, it didn’t require much either - I just had to make him look similar to Scratch, but you could already tell he is Spy because of the fur pattern.

As for the others, I had a lot of fun breaking down the facial and body structure of the game characters, and making them cartoony! Face shape references above^^

It goes for cat breeds as well - I usually pick what I think suits them best in different ways. Heavy - Russian Blue because he’s Russian. Spy - Siamese because of the fur pattern. Medic - Bicolor/tuxedo cat, because it works well with his hair color. Sniper - Norwegian Forrest cat, because he has long hair (I would also like to mention how I used to have one around, who loved the outside, and it just reminded me of him xd). Those are some examples!

8rano has one of my favorite blogs on Tumblr. I genuinely like nearly every single one of their art pieces on there.

The wide majority of them are illustations of Reimu including some form of abstraction with apparitions of other characters like Utsuho or Miku and from this position they go really creative places. Sometimes it is mainly straight lines, sometimes it's a mix of lines and curves like here, sometimes the abstraction goes more or less into the third dimension, sometimes only her clothes are abstracted, sometimes her hair too and sometimes her proportions change to match the structure and that's only a fraction of the tricks 8rano has because basically every single illustration brings in something new, it is a lot of fun to look at them all.

If you're curious as to how those are done, 8rano kindly uploaded a picture of their progress. Apparently they lay down a sort of grid to support the abstract parts and then draw over it. Honestly, having tried (and failed) to copy that to doodle, I have even more respect for their work because it must take a lot of discipline to stick to that kind of structure.

I don't know the rules for art requests so I'm hoping if I do this wrong you'll just ignore this message. I really, really like your Dead Boy Detectives art and I've been following it since the first comic with the soul orbs. I also like your different AUs and crossovers.

Could you write/draw a comic where Doom Patrol Charles meets Reverse Verse Charles? I think that could be interesting because those are the two versions of Charles who admit they're in love with Edwin, but also those two are on opposite ends of the emotional stability scale. That's probably not a good word for it-- what I mean is that DP-Charles seems comfortable with himself while RV-Charles thinks he's an absolutely terrible person, and RV-Charles is kind of manipulative at times while DP-Charles seems to be aware of others' feelings and gives them space.

Also, I think RV-Edwin and DP-Edwin might enjoy sassing each other too much.

No rules, just a lot of patience! Reading your comments always makes me happy, so I made this little thing very quickly :) I'm sure there's a lot of fun interactions for them to have, but it might take me a while to come up with more stuff.

I don't think DP!Charles has advice for RV!Charles... after all, they're kind of in the same boat. But maybe he can teach him a thing or two about giving Edwin time and space? I would love the see everyone's thoughts, because this seems like it could be a fun dynamic.

rambles about the process and other thoughts under the cut! I talk a LOT, so… view at your own risk?

I originally had this idea a couple months ago, I think when I first heard the song. I had made a little test for it, which I didn’t end up doing anything with because I thought it didn’t really make much sense. Which, I’m not sure I did that great of a job making this make sense, but you know. Whatever.

this is the original drawing i made for it back in early august, very rushed and not a big fan of it.

I liked the black background & grayscale palette, as well as the way the string kind of . Twirls around the text? BUT, I went into this without any planning, mostly just me doodling and then threw the lyrics on for fun. No plot or whatever, very short.

After I made this, I was kind of just keeping this idea in mind for later, but I held back on trying to do it as I just wasn’t really sure where I wanted to go with it. I’m very bad at planning and tend to rush into things a lot, which ends up hindering the quality of a lot of my art. and since this was something I actually liked the idea of, I wanted to give it my all.

There was also the fact that because I liked the idea, I wanted the best outcome. This kind of ends up in a sort of paralysis where I don’t want to work on something because I’m not good enough for it, but I did realize that I will likely never consider myself good enough for it, so why not just go for it?

Anyway ,

I did not end up keeping the black background for the reason that I decided that this time around I wanted it to have a more traditional vibe/look? Like perhaps it was scrawled over some roughed up paper, hence the sketchy style and limited palette.

And as for why I didn’t keep the string looping around the pages, I just thought that would add too much red to the pages, sort of ruining the vibe. So I instead just kept it inside the panels!

these are the original thumbnails/sketches! most of them I kept the same, but I did end up pretty much entirely changing the third page, because I decided there was already too many panels of just their faces with somewhat unsettled expressions .

thoughts on individual pages - don’t expect me to be organized or this to be well thought out, by the way,,

on page 1 ,

I started with a shot of the relationship, mostly to just… set the scene. I am NOT an expert on comics, and went into this with very minimal planning, so this work in general is more of the vibes than it is a storyline, but I did try to vaguely get it to resemble something comprehensible.

the second panel of Etho brushing Joel’s cheek is very much no thoughts for me lol, not very happy with how it looks. I do picture Etho as the more openly affectionate one (though i can see it both ways). BUT, to match with the lyrics, you could say that the first panel paired with “it’s hard to tell which elements of this are real” could be resembling that the boat is something tangible and physical, whereas the second panel paired with “and which are chemically enhanced” is referring to whatever feelings they have. Asking themselves if this is really real, or if it’s just the game.

no notes on the third panel lol. like i say this was not well thought out, the story is somewhat there, but it’s VERY much up to interpretation and I did intend it to be that way. I have ideas about what is happening, but I want to keep it up to the viewer.

“But it’s not easy to tell what I want from what I need” OH BOY !!! manic red joel. blinded by the bloodlust and rage and adrenaline. he needs this. he needs it, doesn’t he?

“I am more scared of myself than I am of anyone else” okay okay okay. I don’t headcanon he has any real remorse for killing anyone. this is a death game, you’re not meant to be a good person, this is built on lies and manipulation and blood and hurt. headcanon they’re all insane people doing bad things (with a forced hand or not). BUT !!! big fan of “i break everything i touch” kind of thing (its kind of a pattern in ships i like OOPS). so much angst. regretful of your violent nature, wishing to be gentler so that you can cradle his face without digging your nails into his skin, unwanting to break the only thing you’ve learnt to love.

but. etho doesn’t care !!! he doesnt care. his hands are just as bloody as yours, don’t you see?

all in all, I !! AM !!! INSANE!!! about them. I could ramble for hours probably but this is already long so ending with a couple final thoughts.

this is definitely meant to be set after they’ve gone red, when in that timeframe is up to you, though. in my vision the lyrics are kind of correlating to c!joel’s thoughts/feelings/whatevers, but it can definitely go both ways - or neither way lol. This song is really just like. THEM. To me.

watching the personal note section in @teambyler 's new video for byler really truly reminded me why byler is so important. I've read stories of older queers struggling when they were youths but once I've actually heard it for myself, it had me in an absolute tears.

It has reminded me (and likely most of yall) that representation matters the most right now. Byler isn't just some ship created for us younger generations to enjoy, sitting in our bedrooms and reading fanfiction and drawing fanart of them, it's actual representation.

It's representation of all the weirdos and freaks of the 80's, the ones who were bullied and outcasted, the ones who were told that their love was wrong, the ones who could not spend their life with each other just because of some unwritten rule, it's representation of all the people who made an impact in this world but were sidelined because they were gay.

I'm not saying byler being canon will be the pinnacle of all of queer media, but I'm saying that it will make a difference. We still have a long way to go about queer rep but this will actually matter. It will matter to all the kids who grew up thinking that something was wrong with them and it will matter to the adults they have grown into today.

It might seem small to us now, but to those who lived through that era, it really matters. Byler is not just a fun pairing but a piece of essential queer representation of that decade.

Bakugou………….. dont….. fanfreak in front of bakugou JDBDIDNDIDNDOD BECAUSE KATSuki gets so unbelievably jealous and will literally start coming after your fave character. “Bastard’s just a punch of pixels.” “He’s literally a damn drawing.” “The man is LITERALLY IN A BOOK!” “The hell do you see in him?” (Only for him to chase you around the house when you offer him a quick “well, sometimes I wonder that when I think of you.”) bakugou gets so bitter over it, and sometimes, he gives you the snap of “he’s not even real!” and then has to deal with your silent treatment and pouting until he feels bad for saying it… though sometimes, it is just fun to mess with him IFJRKDNDIDB-

Now Denki is a completely different story because, yeah, okay, at first he was like “I thought I was your cutie pie ☹️” but then he SEES yukimiya and he’s like “DAMN OKAY ILL TAKE THE COMPETITION-“ and he completely feeds into your delusions. Like he gets it, he cheers at the screen with you, he watches with full attention when you gush over his egoist bible entry, Kaminari is SO DOWN to let you have a fanfreak moment because seeing you being the crazy one like him just heals his soul 🥺

How did you get into drawing? And on another more specific note, how did you get drawing into Transformers and somehow crave this little niche of transformers porn art? Its one thing to draw Optimus Prime, its another to draw Optimus Prime tits out.

I got into drawing because of a comicbook art workshop i went to when i was about 10-11 years old! I had been interested in drawing before, but that workshop really kicked off my passion for it. also my family has always been super passionate about the arts because my grandfather was a professional artist!

And more specifically, i got into drawing transformers because my lovely friend @pinkanonwrites asked me to draw them a lot in november of last year when her hyperfixation on them was really intense.

And then i got really into transformers because she made the shows and comics sound really fantastic.

And then i drew porn of them because i like drawing porn a lot. Like i cant stress this enough, i am genuinely passionate about creating transformers pornography. it seems silly and weird to like it so much but porn is just genuinely fun to draw for me, so i have a passion for drawing it.

that ask was rude of me, i should've just blocked you instead of telling you about it, i'm sorry. i'm aroace and sex+romance repulsed, and i guess i thought alastor was gonna be something i could enjoy for once like everyone else gets to without feeling like i'm intruding on a conversation i have no right to be part of. i'm on ios so i can't use browser extensions to actually get rid of all the alastor ship posts like i want, and i'm not sure my problem even has a solution short of just giving up trying, because so far i have found exactly zero blogs that are 1.) still active at all, 2.) still post about Hazbin, 3.) aren't actually 12 years old, and 4.) don't post about fucking Alastor ships. i got so excited seeing such good, recent art i haven't nuked yet considering how old every other post i can still see is, and i'm not kidding when i say i sent that ask through tears. it was rude and unacceptable either way, and i'm sorry.

i've blocked over 200 different people and i'm not exaggerating that number even a little bit. i would rather put a gun to my head and pull the trigger myself than see them so much as breathe next to each other ever again. i am so. so so so so so sick of searching and searching and searching and finding nothing.

the thing i've learned from alastor's aroace representation is that not only is the world as a whole not made to accommodate me, fandom space isn't either. i am an alien on a planet i was never made to fit into, and i don't even get to escape that through fiction like everyone else does. no amount of filtering and blocking and searching will bring into existence a community for me that simply does not exist, and it is futile for me to try. that's what this fandom has taught me.

i think the chances of me sticking around in this fandom are slim, so at least it won't be an issue for anyone else anymore. i think being excluded from conversations about an aroace character sting a lot more than just not being represented at all to be honest.

First of all, Alastor is officially an Ace, NOT an aroace. That means he can still be interested in any romantic things or finding a couple. No one is stopping you from seeing him exclusively as an aroace. But shaming people who don't share your point of view is a bad idea.

Secondly, I am an aroace artist myself. Romantic and sexual themes are virtually non-existent in my art. I can joke about it, but almost all of my drawings explore completely different things. And you come to me and try to talk about how hard it is to feel socially comfortable being an aroace? I understand your worries, but, again, trying to shame other people because they don't share your point of view is NOT a healthy coping mechanism.

Third, I have done THREE drawings in all my time that include a romanticized Alastor. Two of them were collabs, and the third was asked to be drawn by people. And these three drawings made you give up on my art, which you said you really liked?

The community is too heavily oriented towards romantic and sexual themes, it's true. People like us are often uncomfortable in that environment, that's also true. But aroace people can't just come in and ban others from having fun just because we don't find that fun or interesting.

Man, I'm not even Alastor's artist! What the kind of Alastor shipper am I? And you picked me out of a thousand people to block? Oh my God, that's as funny as it is sad.

Usually when you are in your teen years it is very common to experience toxic behaviours because young people don't know how to put up personal boundaries yet and if they weren't raised with a lot of love, well they lack self-love as well.

So in fact they have no idea what a healthy relationship looks like, that's why we see so many toxic narratives about the members and their relationships.

Of course I'm talking generalities I am well aware some older fans are also involved with other ships and fuel those narratives. But it's usually fans who even in their adult lives continue to have distorted perceptions of what is good and healthy.

My view on this might be quite radical but nobody in their right mind could be a serious taekooker. Nobody.

Their ship is based entirely on falshood and toxicity. When you are not distorted in your views it is impossible to get behind a ship such as this. (Except if its for just fun I guess)

I think for a balanced adult the only relationship that makes the most sense is jikook. Because they are themselves balanced and healthy and there is absolutely nothing toxic about them.

But not everyone grows in the same way and not everyone can have a balanced point of view and have enough experience to understand the subtleties of human exchange.

That's why there are so many disparities. And that's why I think a lot of jikooker are mostly older.

Jikookers do not have the shiny object syndrom. We do not think jikook are in a relationship because "it's hot" or "it would be cool".

We simply observe them and drew conclusions from our own personal experiences that made us go "Ok I see what this is" and that's it, literally.

That's why I think sometimes we should not take what tkkers do so seriously because some of them are really young and yes sometimes children. They don't even understand what they are doing and what they are believing in.

But it's true jikook draw people with certain levels of maturity, and I think it's quite indispensable to truly understand the depth of their relationship. Nothing beats personal experiences to compare lol

(Again it is all general statements and I know there are exceptions)
