"WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?! Are you actually serious?" You asked your boyfriend in genuine shock, followed by a laugh from the man dressed in head to toe in Ferrari merch. The red and yellow colors clashed hilariously with the sleek, orange McLaren paddock pass hanging around his neck.

"What? I thought I'd support the winning team." He shrugged, a cheeky grin spreading across his face. You and Harry got invited by the Mclaren F1 team to watch the Silverstone Grand Prix from the paddock. As a Formula 1 fan youself, you were excited to see the cars upclose. To watch the mechanics to the pitstops, engineers do their things (idk what they do lmao) and to watch Max Verstappen overlap the whole grid like seven times. Even since you were a little kid you were amazed by those cars driving freakishly quickly. Now, several years later you get to experience it right infront of your eyes.

"Look, there's Lando!" Harry pointed out, spotting your friend talking to a group of mechanics. You approached Lando, who broke into a wide grin as he saw you. "Hey! There are my favorite YouTubers!"

You beamed. "Lando! It's so good to see you. How's it going?"

"It's been wild but amazing," Lando replied, glancing at Harry. "And I see you've managed to get Harry in the right gear this time."

Harry laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, I had a little help with that."

Lando gave you two a playful nudge. "So, who are you rooting for today? Besides me, of course."

You laughed. "Well, McLaren, obviously. But I'm also excited to see how the Brits perform. It's going to be an interesting race."

"That's the spirit," Lando said, his eyes twinkling with excitement. "Alright, I better get back to my team, but I'll see you guys later? Enjoy the race!"

You and Harry found a spot in the back of Landos garage, it had a view on the screens but also the pit-stop. The whole race went by fast. The moment the lights went out Lando tried his hardest with a deserved P2 at his home race.

Eddie used to be super into hockey as a kid and Wayne splurged one birthday and got him all the pads and the skates and the helmet and stuff. But then he hit his growth spurt and nothing fit anymore, and they couldn't afford to buy new stuff so Eddie had to give it up. Part of why he kept failing high school is from avoiding gym class like the plague, partly because he thinks he looks stupid (read: too on display) in the shorts (see also for example: Harrington, S.) but mostly because he decided that if he can't do the athletic thing he WANTED to do then he's not going to do ANY of it.

But then the kids want a day at the roller rink (to give El some better memories of skating), and they insist that Eddie comes along...

OKAY I AM SO SORRY I DIDNT ANSWER THIS SOONER I LITERALLY DID NOT SEE THE NOTIFICATION IF I EVEN GOT ONE!?!?!? which is very rude because i no longer have any memory of any kind of skating post BUT!!! I USED TO GO THE SKATING RINK ALLLLLL THE TIME AND IM FROM INDY SO I HAVE THE VIBE LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO!!!

Eddie really doesn't wanna go. But El uses her puppy eyes so he immediately says yes. And while we know Steve is sporty i want him to be bad at skating. He's got adorable wobbly knees on wheels and keeps one hand on the railing around the Rink the entire time he's out there, or just near the edge.

The boys keep making fun. El had slowed down and skaed with him for awhile before he'd shoo-ed her away and told her to go enjoy herself. His body is full of tension. The entire tims he's there, apart from when they take a break to get cheese fries and milkshakes.

Eddie shows up later, cuz he had a shift at the garage, but managed to get of an hour early. He watches Steve struggle for a few moments and then goes and rents his skates. He laces up and cruises out onto the shiny wood floor, his legs carrying him easily and swiftly where he wants to go.

"Harrington." Is all he says to Steve the first time he rolls past him. He turns easily, skates backward and waves and smiles at him. Steve's jaw drops and he fully stops skating, knuckles white on the metal railing that has been his lifeline all night.

Eddie passes him a few more times. Takes a small break to go buy some goodies in the little gift shop. He buys two necklaces and two light up bracelets. The bracelets he gives to El and Max, glowy matching friendship gifts. And the necklaces he tucks in his pocket and skates over to Steve. Who is still struggling along, stubborn as ever.

Eddie skates over, briefly catches the tail end of Dustin trying to goad Steve away from the railing. He hears Steve hiss "fuck off Henderson." And watches Dustin skate away laughing. Eddie skates up, uses his breaks to stop and turn so he's face to face with Steve. His eyes widen as he looks Eddie.

"Hey." Eddie says, smiling. Steve takes a deep breath, his knees are shaking, but he does his best to stand up straight.

"Hey to you." He huffs, one foot darting forward a little. Eddie reaches out instinctively, his hand landing on Steve's hip, steadying him.

"Tilt you foot forward, toe down. The break on the front'll help you not move." Eddie taps his skate into the side of Steve's, watches him carefully do as Eddie instructed. His toe hits the floor and he immediately looks more steady.

"Thanks." He breathes, sighing heavy and then smiling up at Eddie.

"Hey." He says, sounds actually happy this time.

"Hi. I got you something." He pulls the necklaces out of his pocket and clicks the button, the little round medallion on the end lights up and flashes. He pulls the two necklaces apart and drapes one over Steve's head, settles it around his neck gently, pats at the flashing lights against Steve's chest twice, smiling. And then drops his own necklace on. Flipping its switch so it flashes just like Steve's.

"Thank you." Steve says, looking down at it, and then back up at Eddie.

"You're good at this." Steve tells him, pointing at all the people skating past them, the majority of them dsncing to the music blasting from the speakers.

"Mhm. You're not." Eddie hums, nods his head to Steve, bites his lip, teasing.

"Yeah no shit." Steve huffs, looking grumpy again. Eddie smiles.

"Do you trust me?" He asks, head tilting sideways. Steve looks at him.

"What?"

"Do you trust me?" He repeats, not looking away, not even blinking. Steve's eyes narrow, widen, move over Eddie's face before they soften and he breathes.

"Yeah. I- I trust you." He nods, looks nervous.

"You trust me enough to let go of your safety bar?" Eddie jerks his head toward the railing, still not taking his eyes off Steve. Steve's eyes move tho. From Eddie to the bar and back again.

"Maybe." Steve says, sounds uncertain. Eddie laughs, bright and beautiful, and holds his hands out in front of him, palms up.

"I won't let you fall. I promise." Eddie says, wiggles his fingers.

"You're gonna be my safety bar?" Steve asks, his throat working, but Eddie can see the color flooding back into his knuckles, his grip loosening.

"Mhm. I'll be your saftey bar. You're water wings. Training wheels?" Eddie thinks, shrugs, wiggles his fingers again. Steve smiles, huffs a laugh, and lets go.

He slids his hands into Eddie's, holding tight, Eddie holds tight right back.

"Good? Ready to move?" Eddie asks, his eyes wide and waiting.

"Yeah. I think so, yeah." Steve says, lifts his toe break off the ground and lets Eddie pull him along slowly. His knees wobbling as Eddie guides them easily across the floor, only looking behind himself every now and again.

And that's how they spend the rest of the night. Hand in hand. Eddie guiding Steve, holding his hands tight as he teaches him and helps him and keeps him steady. After awhile they end up skating side by side. The music carrying them across the floor. Steve does a few laps on his own when Eddie goes to chase Lucas, Steve marvels at how fast he is. How he moves on his skates lile he's not on wheels, like he's just running in his tennis shoes.

Steve laughs, staying close to the railing but trying not to use it as he watches Eddie fucking run and hop on fucking wheels across the rink after Lucas. Once he's caught him, Eddie does a few more laps, skating backward, fast, his feet moving and flowing past each other like liquid until he skates back to Steve, gets close, but not so close to knock him off balance.

"Doin' okay sweetheart?" Eddie asks, and there's that fucking nickname again. He always uses it when Steve is uneasy, and it always fucking makes him feel better. Steve nods.

"How the fuck do you do that?" He asks, breathless. Eddie just shrugs, nonchalant.

"Wanted to play hockey. Ice is way harder than this." He taps his foot on the wood and does a little spin, landing right back next to Steve who wobbles dangerously. Eddie catches him. Easy.

"Hmm. Not sure i like the idea of you running around with blades on your feet." Steve muses, his fingers clutching Eddie's shirt. Eddie laughs, head thrown back, deep in his belly.

"That is actually very fair. I got cut a few times." He's smiling brightly. Once Steve is steady again Eddie takes his hand and leads him away from the edge, away from the railing. Steve lets himself be led, lets Eddie guide him across the floor. Eddie never going too fast, or pulling to hard. Just stays by Steve's side, his hand in his, keeping him steady. Keeping him safe. Keeping him smiling and laughing and forgetting about how miserable he'd been at the beginning of the night.

Steve never wants to let go of his hand. And he tells Eddie this, when they're leaving the rink at the end of the night, Eddie's skates already off the wooden floor. Steve tells him he doesn't want to stop holding his hand, whispers it, all shy and sweet. A little nervous.

But Eddie smiles. Eddie smiles and tells him he doesn't have to let go.

Got any Max headcannons?

I think one of the headcannons I often include in my daydreams or writing is the idea of his parents, before camp had been something they could sign up Max for, making him do a TON of other activities. And it didn’t stop after Max meet the age requirement for camp Campbell. When Max isn’t at camp, he’s doing all the other activities he is forced to do after school or on weekends. Sure, most of them his parents probably signed him out of due to them being too expensive or because Max complained too much, but for the most part, he has done an extensive amount of activities. The first activity that came to mind after reading this post? He’s probably done it and mastered it.

I mean seriously, this kid has only been doing gymnastics for a couple months. He had from august all the way to June to practice gymnastics, and he’s already so good at it the show writers had to make him do the obstacle course off screen?! (Actually it was probably because of the budget, but you get my point.)

And not just that, did you see the way he wielded that spear back in season 1 when Ered took over camp? I’m sorry, but that kind of skill with a spear isn’t just built into baby’s from birth.

Im also of the firm belief that most, if not all, of Max’s clothing is either too big or too small. Listen, I don’t think his parents are extremely abusive, physically or mentally. I think, like Max said, they don’t care. They give him the bare necessities a kid needs, food, clothes, a roof over his head; however, they do just that, the bare minimum. Let’s be frank here, they probably don’t know his size in any piece of clothing. A hoodie is actually a pretty good nod at that fact. Hoodies aren’t very tight like a t shirt, so they could get him an Medium or large and it’s not that obvious how big the hoodie is.

This also leads to my third head cannon. Of course, his parents give clothes and food, but most of the time it’s leftovers or just ingredients. Which means that Max most likely cooks really well.

Another one I have, and this one may get me burned at the stake, is that Max’s hair doesn’t look that bad in the morning. Now, hear me out! I get it, imagining Max having a birds nest in the morning is pretty funny. But I honestly think that after the events that occurred at Spooky Island, Max, Sasha, and Pikemen, whether they want to admit it or not, did grow a friendship. Sure, it isn’t a very nice friendship and Pikemen still attacks the camp, but they are a lot more friendlier towards each other. Because of this, I know that Sasha definitely helped him develop a skin and hair care routine. (The skin routine is more eye bag related since they’re like 11) Before the events of season 4, yeah he probably looked like shit most days, but the year after that? You could give Max shit about his attitude, but definitely not his appearance. For all I know, Sasha bought him some cologne or some crap.

He definitely has insomnia, I mean cmon. This kid has saved the camp from a cultist, the woodscouts, etc. I’m sure he has at least SOME issues sleeping. I sure would if I knew the guy who had brainwashed me and my friends and tried to kill us was still OUT THERE. (In Antartica possibly, but still.)

This technically applies to my previous head cannon but whatever. He can play guitar, just doesn’t want David to know because he will 100% force Max to play at the campfire. Max would thrust himself into the bonfire before you saw him agree to do that.

Max is really good at sports and in term is very competitive. But like, he’s both of these things but…terrifyingly so. Sorry, gonna go on a tangent to explain my thought process but hear me out for a second. I’m actually planning on writing a fanfic about Nerris learning hypnotism (they think it’s the closest thing to real magic) and accidentally actually doing it to Max after failed attempts on all the campers while at a sleepover. David catches them because it’s past there curfew and, to get out of trouble, Nerris decides to compromise with him. They tell David that if he lets all of the campers go without having to clean the messhall or whatever punishment he’s going to give them, Nerris would make Max actually participate in the camp activities. One thing leads to another and Max ends up actually doing all the activities with no complaining. But turns out, he’s way too good. None of the campers can actually beat him in anything, not even there own activities. Soccer, basketball, tennis, pickleball, archery, rock climbing, he can do it all. But like, imagine playing with someone who beats you every time and in less than a couple seconds. Obviously, everyone is mortified and decide to never give Max crap for not participating.

TLDR, Max doesn’t participate in activities because a) He doesn’t feel like playing games with people who can’t serve a volleyball, because you have to remember that most of these kids are probably really un athletic or nerdy, and b) Although he doesn’t want to admit it, he doesn’t want to be that kind of dick. After the events of the last summer, he’s not as rude. But of course, he still talks shit about their skills.

you’d be lying if you said your heart didn’t flutter at these things hanbin would do for you. you weren’t dense but it was absurd.

there was always something deep down in your heart for hanbin , although you weren’t sure if those feelings were romantic or platonic.

but you’d never confess , obviously.

It's not an uncommon occurrence, Charles and Max having a disagreement. In fact, it has been the baseline of their rivalry, then their friendship, and now, their relationship. 

They have passionate discussions. Heated debates. They bicker and press each other's buttons. When one pulls, the other pushes, again and again and again. 

But, most of the time, it’s fun. Harmless. A disagreement that will pass within a few minutes once they've both had a chance to cool down.

It usually doesn’t turn into a full-blown fight. Not one that leaves Charles looking at Max like he doesn’t know him anymore before storming off into the bedroom and slamming the door shut behind him.

He doesn’t even remember how it started. Something minor, no doubt, but Max cannot for the life of him remember what. All he knows is that whatever they'd been talking about turned into a conversation about Ferrari and Charles' outright refusal to accept that maybe it’s not the right team for him when they still haven't been able to give him what he needs to win a championship after so many years. 

It's something Charles is passionate about, for obvious reasons. But Max is passionate about it too, because he knows what Charles is capable of. Knows that had he only just been in a different team — a team that listened and learned — then he'd already have a championship under his belt.

Because all Max wants in this world is to give Charles everything. But a championship is the one thing he can’t give him. And it’s infuriating, because nobody deserves a world championship more than Charles. 

So yeah, when Charles had told him that he still believed Ferrari could help him achieve his life-long dream, Max had snapped. 

Because when Max was this passionate about something, his passion could sometimes cross the line to anger. Not at Charles — never at Charles — but at the situation. At Charles deserving so much better than what he was getting. 

That, on the other hand, wasn’t always obvious to others.

He overstepped, he knew that much. But he also knew there was no point in trying to fix this now because that would be poking the bear. And right now, the bear needs to breathe. 

So Max lets him breathe, and he busies himself playing with Jimmy and Sassy. And when they get sick of him, he sits on the balcony and watches the city below. 

He watches the boats, the cars, the people, and has to use every bit of strength to resist the urge to go to Charles. 

Once two hours have passed and the Monégasque still hasn't emerged from the bedroom, Max can't take it any more.

Trudging back into the apartment, Max makes his way down the hallway to the bedroom. He lingers outside the closed door, hesitating. Two hours should be enough time, but it’s never a sure thing with Charles. Sometimes, two hours isn’t even close to being enough.

As he opens the door, Max hopes to God it's enough this time.

Charles is lying on the bed on his back, staring at the ceiling. But he'd left the door unlocked, which Max will take as a good sign.

(He won’t entertain the possibility that Charles simply may have forgotten.)

"I'm sorry," Max says as he sits on the edge of the bed next to Charles.

The Monégasque doesn’t look at him. Doesn’t answer. Just keeps staring at the ceiling.

Should have waited another hour, Max thinks to himself.

Well. Too late now.

"I didn't mean anything I said the way it probably sounded. I just — I think you deserve so much more. I'm sorry I didn't manage to articulate that."

Charles still doesn’t look at him or speak. But the tightness of his jaw eases slightly.

Max will fucking take that and run with it.

"I do love you, you know. Even if I'm shit at showing it," he goes on, reaching out tentatively to brush his fingers over Charles' thigh through the duvet.

He sees the Monégasque struggle with his resolve. Can tell Charles wants to hold on to his anger, just for a little while longer. 

"You're only shit at showing it sometimes," Charles tells him with a sigh, before finally looking at Max. His eyes look puffy and tired, but still stunning. "Come to bed?"

It’s not forgiveness. Not yet. But it’s a start. 

Max wastes no time, stripping out of his shirt and pants and climbing into bed next to Charles. He's about to keep apologizing — plead with Charles to forgive him, but the Ferrari driver beats him to the punch.

"Don't say anything, just — just lay here with me."

It's a simple request. One that Max is eager to comply with. 

Hell, he'd launch himself off the fucking balcony with the biggest smile on his face if Charles had asked him to in that voice.

So they lay there next to each other. Not touching. Not speaking. Just existing in the same space. Breathing the same air. It's enough.

Until it isn’t. 

Charles turns onto his side, facing Max, and looks up at him through his eyelashes. It’s a look that turns Max's very soul into a puddle.

"Hold me?"

"Always," Max's response is immediate as he shifts closer and pulls Charles against his chest, wrapping both arms around the other man and holding him as if his very life depends on it.

Charles sighs — a soft, pleased sound — as he nuzzles against Max, tucking his face against Max's neck and inhaling deeply. Letting the familiar scent of Max, of home, wash over him. Letting it soothe his soul.

Max lets it soothe his, too.

They don’t speak for the rest of the evening, but they don’t need to. Because as Charles holds on to Max and falls asleep in his arms, Max knows they'll be alright. 

They always are, in the end.

hey! my superhonest opinion on carlando: i love their friendship very much, platonically ofc! as we already know, lando was a huge fan of carlos even in his early days and then to share his rookie season with someone he looks upto would've meant alot. honestly, their friendship is like no other in f1 because its something very special. even in the mclaren challenges videos they seemed to be so comfy with each other and even when the other got the podium, each of them seemed happy as if it was their own. you don't get to see that in f1 alot. ofc there was competition but it was a healthy one imo. and then ofc he was invited to the wedding and all and they still spend time together(mostly playing golf). so yea, they are one of my favorites and seeing them together makes me very happy. also i don't know if you've watched the last of mclaren videos with carlos but when carlos was asked about if he had to say something to lando(i think it was abu dhabi gp), he said he had already said what he wanted to lando before. so i kinda like how they are also private.

lestappen: again, i love lestappen. ok let me be honest, im kind of bothered by people who ship them sexually. i don't "ship" them, i just love their friendship. they're my favorite rivals and that's a point to be noted. most people make them out to be enemies but they're merely rivals. i also love how they back one another in press conferences and other media pens. for instance, max has always mentioned how fucked up ferrari's strategies are and charles has always said "max is in another world". they've never failed to let people know how they always like racing against one another. and most importantly, they respect each other very much. in their karting days- maybe not so much(i think we all know that)but as they have stepped up in their careers, they have also evolved as humans and i think its so special how their "hatred" for each other has turned into a nice, strong bond. from not even bidding each other goodbye after a race to always finding each other as soon as the race ends(and charles mentioning how he deems max as a good friend), i think they've come a long way and that is something i think them both and the lestappen girlies hold dear to their heart.

Okay, so first off. Right blog? Yes and no? I am the person who wrote Her, but this is more of my... sci-fi, supernatural blog? Which I suppose NPMD could key into, but it's much more sitcoms and movies. (Also just my personal rants, vents and other bullshit)

That being said, I've gotten a confused person looking for my musical theatre blog enough times that I definitely should create a pinned post including my other blogs.

Anyway! About your question! I do plan on updating it at some point, I just don't know when that point will be. Something that keeps me on top of my stories is writing chapters in advance so I don't get burnout. Example, I'm writing Beanies right now and there are nine chapters posted. Chapter 10 is complete, but I haven't yet finished chapter 11, so I'm not posting Chapter 10, and Chapter 11 won't be out until Chapter 12 is complete. (This also allows me to double-post chapters when I'm finishing a book, although this has not actually happened yet.)

I did not start doing this until after starting Her. I'm stuck with Her, because I don't know what direction I'm going into, and I don't know where to start. Also doesn't help that my parents were never formally divorced (they have 6 kids and had been married for over 20 years by the time they separated; can't blame them) so I really don't know anything about the process. I know it's long and gruelling and stuff, but I don't know how quickly I'd be able to just gloss over it. But I suppose maybe Gary Goldstein (Attorney At Law) is a good enough lawyer to get it wrapped up real quick lol.

I understand that Her is more of an angst and trans-comfort gold mine, but feel free to take a peak into my other books, which are updated slightly more frequently, such as Beanies or Zeek: The Fighting Nighthawk. Beanies is more building friendship secretly between them, while Zeek: The Fighting Nighthawk has them becoming friends with one under false identity (obviously, that's Zeek.) Beanies does also include the same character being trans, but it's not a major plot/talking point (yet). I really appreciate the support, I'm just going to be very busy between planning for pride and writing for Beanies (I have a trio of chapters coming out that I want to get out of the way before I pick up something else; I don't want burnt out on this before I even finish the pride event stories.)

Aiko Wanatabe:

A young traumatised person Aiko was born and raised harshly in Kyushu, Japan. A Kenny friend and is the first one to notice DiD traits in him. Aiko is rather quiet and withdrawn When she slowly warms to you she quietly takes care of you, gives you some of her food if you look hungry, gives gently pat pats to make feel better. She pratically clings to riho- her safe person.

hi ella i have been putting this ask off because i have so many thoughts on them and i was trying to gather them into something somewhat coherent and then i realized that will never happen so! here are my thoughts on mike and robin friendship that literally no one except ella asked for but i will be providing anyway:

(i want to preface this by saying that by no means do i think this is a prediction! s5 is super plot heavy and i doubt there will be too much time to develop new relationships from scratch but in my dream world this is mike and robin’s dynamic and why i think they should be best friends forever.)

1. mike, by nature, is a little standoffish and a bit hostile to new people (max, even el, despite the monologue cough cough). that’s just how he is! even though he’s very silly and cringefail etc etc he’s still super protective of his friends and guarded and that’s definitely heightened as shit gets more intense in later seasons. it takes a while for his real personality to come out around new people! this is where i point out that robin has exactly the sort of personality that mike would find initially very abrasive bc she is loud and she rambles and she makes bad jokes and she says shit like “dingus” aka is exactly the sort of person dustin considers “cool” (see again: max) 100% certain that mike would not be robin’s biggest fan at first but it’s more of a startled and apprehensive response than genuine distaste

2. fundamentally, i think robin and mike are very similar people! which is kind of complicated because i feel like robin is in this weird place where she’s enough of a main character to have a clear-cut personality and it’s easy to say what would be ooc for her, but she also isn’t enough of a main character like will or el or max to know too much about her inner monologue etc etc. BUT! pushing aside their obvious identity issues for a hot second— mike and robin are both insanely loyal, analytical (s2 mike and s3 robin please come home), funny and nerdy and talkative, and they have a hard time opening up about their real feelings except for that one special person (steve and will). it’s clear that what both of them really want, under all the humor and the front, is to be loved and accepted, and they both find this in that one special person.

3. look. i love love love the robin/will mentorship hc it is so near and dear to me and i need this to happen in s5 because i need will to talk to another gay person like i need air, BUT. this is where i point out that will has grown up with his own form of a support system and mike has never in his life known that. yes his life has not been easy even without all the upside down shit and im not disregarding that !! but when you’re looking at will’s relationships with the people around him, he’s super close to his mom and his brother and he’s always been able to talk to them and go to them for anything. jonathan accepted him with open arms and we all know that joyce “i don’t know what that THING is but it’s not my son” byers is not going to bat an eye at will’s sexuality after everything. mike, on the other hand, needs a mentor figure because he’s never known this kind of support. the inclusion that he felt with the party isn’t as strong anymore, and his friend group is dissipating and he’s not close with any of the older teens, not even his sister, and and and and—

4. ok. expanding on the nancy thing because i got off track a bit! i love the wheeler siblings. i really do. i would give anything to see them be the apocalyptic sibling duo of the century in s5 but if i’m being really honest, nancy and mike are just. not close. even after everything they’ve been through together, we never see them have storylines together and other than that one line about nancy’s vecna vision showing her mike, they just. never really feel like they’re close to me. mike has never gotten the kind of support and closeness from nancy that will gets from jonathan, or lucas gets from erica, or dustin gets from steve (since he’s an only child) and while both of them have their own shit going on, i just don’t think mike sees nancy as someone he can go to. she got in early decision to college, she runs the school newspaper, she’s always been ambitious and driven and decisive on her future which are exactly the things mike is struggling with— fitting in, finding his place, etc etc. nancy had that whole thing in s1 and 2 with murray about who people expect her to be (dating steve) vs who she wants to be (dating jonathan) and then she got past that hurdle and mike is. well. he’s not quite there yet. but the bottom line is that for mike and what he’s dealing with rn, i think robin is a lot more relatable and approachable than nancy is, because she’s also navigating complex identity (and sexuality) issues, she doesn’t have all her shit sorted out (at least from mike’s pov bc nancy is only 18 and doesn’t know everything etc etc) but. i just think that out of the older teens, if mike needed to talk to someone, then robin would be able to relate to him more and be infinitely more approachable. also maybe this is just me projecting but i think that mike would rly gravitate towards robin’s style and stuff, especially from her pseudo-alt era from s3 with the rings and the eyeliner and the bracelets and stuff!! i loved her look in s4 too but idk something abt s3 robin is so <3 to me. yeah. definitely projecting.

5. maybe this is a bit of an unpopular opinion but the robin is a lesbian yoda trope is not my most favorite. like, i really don’t think that just because she’s older and she’s the only one to actually come out on screen and have a queer storyline that she knows anything and everything there is to know about queer dynamics! she’s a 17/18 year old lesbian in the 80s in the middle of indiana and just thinking about her talk with steve in the car makes me so sad because she’s aware that asking out the wrong girl could be catastrophic for her :( i think she’s also uncertain about a lot of things pertaining to her sexuality and i think there’s a difference between robin as a mentor figure being like, “hey, it’s totally okay to be gay and not have everything figured out, but know you’re not a mistake and you’re not alone because i’m like you” vs “here are 100 terms for queer people and the names of every sexuality under the sun because i know Everything,” and genuinely and honestly, i think mike just needs someone to tell him that first thing: that he’s only fourteen (almost 15 at the end of s4) and he literally does not need to know everything about himself or his feelings or who he is but just that he isn’t alone and it’s important that he doesn’t try to suppress that part of himself for the sake of appearances. idk my thoughts on this are very personal and i could make a whole other post (or write another 37k words on this) but! i just think that if robin got to know mike a little more she would see a lot of herself in him

Im about halfway through Party Crasher rn and its insane how bland Adrien is normally and how endearing he is when we get to see him hang out with his friends without him being on this pedastal by Marinette. Its not even like hes always that boring when Marinette is around or like this show cant write them being cute together because when they were hanging out as "just" friends in season 2 they were honestly pretty adorable! I also really liked them when they thought they were a couple in Oblivio, but for some reason the writers insist on writing Marinette as this bumbling fool whenever shes around him so anytime theres an opportunity for them to spend time together and develop their relationship, we need to get through this barage of bullshit hijinks where Marinette can barely get a word out and then the episode ends with a small moment where something kinda cute-kinda romantic happens but it doesnt actually affect their relationship in any meaningful way

I honestly think focusing more on Adrien would make the romance so much better because it would actually gives us reasons for Marinette to like Adrien because as it stands she really only seems to like him for shallow reasons but the show doesnt really acknowledge that? Like, they try to paint characters like Chloe and Lila as in the wrong for only liking Adrien for his looks and money but its fine for Marinette to do the same thing because idk, shes nice ig not a poorly-written caricature of the Mean Popular Girl archetype ? Granted, MLB has that False Ideal Self/True Flawed Self dichotomy-thing going on with Adrien obviously being that false ideal self in contrast to Cat Noir so you could say it kind of is calling her shallowness out but idk, this just reeks of misogyny to me

Also, before anyone accuses me of anything, I dont mind Marinette being the sole protagonist of the show while Adrien is just the love interest rather than the co-protagonist like you would think from the full title, I just think romances inherently work best when all of the people involved get an equal amount of focus and get fleshed out equally. I think if they wanted to have Marinette be the sole protagonist, it wouldve been better to focus more on female friendships (which is what actual magical girl shows tend to do anyway) and spend more time exploring the relationships between Lila and Chloe and Marinette/Ladybug. That would be a pretty interesting way to handle the theme of Persona vs Real Self with Chloe bullying Marinette but idolising Ladybug and Lila despising Ladybug but wanting to be friends with Marinette (ik that doesnt actually happen but shhhh Im trying to dream up a better version of this bad show) and you could even do something with Kagami outwardly being the type of person you would expect to be Ladybug but no actually being Ladybug and maybe even wanting a life closer to the one Marinette has

Also, to kinda bring this back around to Party Crasher, one of the things that I do apperciate about the show is how the Miracuclass feels like a big 'loose' friendgroup with smaller more close-knit 'sub' friendgroups within it. I dont exactly know what french school culture is like, but it seems like once the classes are picked, youre gonna be spending most of your time at school in the same group for several years. Its like that in germany too and since most popular media is american and about The American School Experience, I dont often get to see that dynamic portrayed in media and I appreciate that. I just wish we could have a few episodes that focus a bit more on those smaller dynamics, like Max and Kim have a pretty sweet unlikely friendship going on, the person Nathaniel texts his bad excuse to is Alyx and they have similar interests and seem happy to sit next to each other but I feel like they hardly interact, it'd be nice to flesh out Marinettes Girl Squad and some of their individual relationships a bit because aside from Rose and Juleka and Marinette and Alya I kinda feel like the only reason they hang is just that theyre all the girls in their class who dont suck ass. Also, this isnt really based on anything in canon, but I recently had a thought that Nino and Luca would probably get along well since theyre both musicians and theyre both meant to be Cool Guys, just in different ways and I like Adrien and Ninos friendship and the few times Adrien and Luka got to interact I thought they were cute and idk, ive been getting really attached to the idea of Adrien, Luka and Nino as a trio

max!! omg hi. okay so dude im sorry its taken me days to answer this. i wrote 3k words in one day and then i was traveling back home from mexico to california and immediately went to work today and now im finally getting a chance to answer you.

but anywayyyy

i have an entire not!fic typed out for this. which is basically a super rough extra long summary with a few hyper specific detail. so sorta of like an outline as well?

but the concept of the fic, if you don't wanna read the not!fic that ill put in a read more down below, is that gavi and joao are fuckbuddies of sorts but they dont talk about it and theyre really not even friends. but when joao wont let gavi reciprocate in anyway, because joao has some internalized homophobia stuff going on, there's a fight and drama. when they eventually make up they decide to only be friends. but there's a sweet fluffy ending where they become a bit more but in a more honest way know that theyve gotten close.

So imagine an alternate João and Gavi that are not so close off the pitch. Their chemistry when they're playing is Great. they celebrate together and have some very sweet moments like the hugs and João picking Gavi up, ect, all the stuff we've seen. But then everywhere else, João is standoffish. Still cordial, respectful but doesn't go out of his way to be friends with Gavi. Which Gavi doesn't normally care about gaining the friendship of teammates, he has plenty of friends in his mind. But there is something about João that is intriguing to Gavi. So there is some part of him that is a little disappointed that João doesn't seem to want more.

But then after a match, maybe one where they're some Tension on the pitch that Gavi misinterprets as João upset with him or something. Gavi asks him about it after the match. João pulls Gavi into some deserted room and instead of explaining himself, he's getting on his knees for him, peering up at Gavi with pleading eyes. All he asks is "can I?" With his hands on Gavi's shorts.

Gavi is nodding, agreeing before he can think it through and then João sucks him off, efficiently and rushed but amazing. He swallows every drop, ticking Gavi back in and leaving before Gavi can even thank him or ask for explanation.

Life continues as normal for a while and then it happens again. João gets this look on his face when they're celebrating João's goal together and Gavi can tell he *wants*. Sure enough João finds after the match again. And the same thing happens. João gives Gavi a bj and leaves before Gavi can even offer to reciprocate or talk about it.

Gavi thinks it's strange for sure but João is Asking to get him off and if wants to...who is Gavi to say no? The noises he makes are clear signs that he enjoys himself while doing it. But still something isn't setting right about the whole thing in the back of his mind.

The third time it happens, Gavi finally speaks up at the end. theyre sitting in gavi's car this time. He quickly grab ahold to João's bicep, trying to keep him from leaving. João looks terrified at the sudden gesture and won't hardly look Gavi in the face. gavi lets go immediately and says something along the lines of "i didnt mean to frighten you" and joao seems to accept that and relaxes just a little. after a beat of joao just watching gavi with his doe eyes, gavi finally asks "what are you getting out of this exactly? not that i dont enjoy it, i do, very much. so i want to make sure you're appreciated in return. and gavi tries to reach for joao's thigh on the other side of the consol. and joao gets a bit spooked again.

joao doesn't look at gavi when he answers something like "im fine, i dont need anything in return, i swear this is enough. also my motive is none of your business" which makes gavi laugh because "of course it is. dont you think i deserve to get to know the person im having sex with?" but joao doesnt know what to say to that so he answers with a scowl (that gavi finds adorable actually) and murmurers quietly "that's not on the table for us" but wont explain it to gavi.

gavi looks at him consideringly and after a few moments, he sighs and crosses his arms and tells joao "then i am off the table. until you want to be honest with me" joao doesnt answer him and doesnt look at him. just gets out of gavi's car and leaves.

at practice, it's awkward and terrible and they cant play together for a few days. by the 3rd day one of them ends up picking a fight and they both get into trouble, having to run extra laps. when they get back to the changing room mostly everyone is gone, and while theyre showering joao can see gavi in the stall next to him. he cant keeps his eyes off joao and then suddenly he's in joao's space and crowing him against the wall. joao is biting his lip and looking down at gavi and whispering "please don't kiss me". gavi wants to. so bad. and he knows joao wants him back. but he listens to joao, stepping away and going back to his own stall. and joao looks *shocked* and then it fades into a really soft smile and he nods at gavi and finisheds up, leaving the showers.

later that night, gavi gets a text from joao, asking him to meet up before training with an address. the next morning gavi pulls up to the apt building and calls joao and he tells him how to find his apt. once inside, joao tells gavi, "just because im telling you this doesnt mean that i'm going to sleep with you. or let you kiss me. im telling you because you respected me and that's very rare for me experience." so then joao unloads on gavi, tells him all about his past.

how joao had a secret relationship with an older married man when he was much to young to be doing so (but not underage). and that when they were caught, he was paid off to keep quiet and it was never reported and even if his parents never said anything, he could feel their judgement for getting involved with a man. he's never trusted anyone else since and doesn't get invovled with men to keep his parents happy. but then he got to know gavi, and he was really hard for joao to resist. so the best compromise joao could come up with was to not let gavi recipricate so that he wouldnt feel so guilty for allowing himself to give in. gavi hugs him then, holds him close and tells him how brave he is, and that he is not guilty, and tells him he understands how difficult this must have been for joao to trust him with this information. and just lets gavi hold him close for a moment before they have to go to training.

they actually get close for real after that, an unspoken agreement to not go back to hooking up quiet yet. take time during practice getting to know one another, text and ig message each other memes ect. until eventually, joao asks gavi to come over, cook for him, have dinner, and its the *best time*. joao kisses gavi against the counter, when theyre cleaning up for dinner, the sink behind gavi's back, his wet hands on joao's face. and its perfect. gavi stays to watch a little tv after dinner and they fall asleep, waking up in the dark tangled up together.

joao tells gavi he can stay, sleep in his bed. gavi agrees to stay, but insists he's fine on the couch, telling joao he'll set an alarm and probably be out before joao is awake. true to his word, gavi is gone when joao gets up, blanket folded on the couch, coffee made, and a scribbled note by a cup, telling joao good morning and see you at training with a heart.

joao is all smiles all through training and him and gavi are reallly in tune, impressing everyonee. they both feel hopeful going into the match that weekend. and for good reason. they totally slay during the game, kicking butt and each getting a goal and assist for the other. after the match, gavi is buzzing, so visibily excited and joao is so enamoured by it. when theyre walking out together, gavi asks if he can come over to celebrate with joao. joao looks hesitant but then, he's grinning and telling gavi yes.

they have a wonderful night, once again, except that they get take out. and joao intentionally asks gavi to come to bed with him and they finally sleep together for real. and its beautiful and wonderful and amazing. and joao knows he's not *fixed* and they still have a long way to go. but he cant help but feel hopeful because of the way gavi looks at him and then kisses him before they fall alseep. but even more so how he's still there when he wakes up.

but it makes sense for michael’s character, not just because he’s a hypocrite, he values the person’s commitment and risk taking and focus !!! that’s what sandy had, that’s what max had!!!! even if the two aren’t necessarily good actors or anything like michael, sandy is literally one of Michael’s closest friends and michael (as dorothy) was able to form a friendship with someone you’d assume would be his biggest enemy I MEAN. evil man director, freeloader famous man RON CARLISLE AND MAX FALL UNDER THE SAME CATEGORY!! also on tour dorothy brushed off her annoyance towards max the second he mentioned reading shakespeare and got so excited so I think she’s just autism with it
