After successfully closing a challenging case in New Orleans, the BAU team decides to take a well-deserved break before heading back to Quantico. Will LaMontagne, JJ's beau, invites them to his favorite bar, Jewel of the South, for an evening of drinks and relaxation. Penelope Garcia, who joined the team on this trip to assist with the precinct's outdated technology, is thrilled to unwind with her colleagues in the vibrant city. With the spirit of New Orleans as their backdrop, the team gathers at the elegant cocktail bar, ready to enjoy a night of laughter and friendship, leaving the stresses of the job behind.
As they settled into a cozy corner, Penelope Garcia took it upon herself to ensure everyone had their preferred drink. As she made her way to the bar, Spencer Reid found himself glancing around the room, his mind still half-occupied by the case they had just closed. But his attention was quickly drawn to a captivating figure behind the bar.
You were busy mixing drinks with an air of effortless grace, your warm smile lighting up the room. Spencer’s gaze lingered on you, his interest piqued by your charm and the way you seemed to effortlessly command the space.
Penelope returned, carrying a tray laden with cocktails and setting it down with a flourish. "Alright, team! Drinks are served!" she announced, her eyes twinkling with mischief as she noticed Spencer's transfixed gaze.
"Looks like our resident genius has found something—or rather someone—interesting," Derek teased, nudging Spencer playfully. "Or should I say, someone has captured his attention?"
Spencer blinked, his cheeks turning a faint shade of pink. "I, um, was just observing how well she handles the bar," he stammered, trying to sound nonchalant.
Emily raised an eyebrow, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Uh-huh, sure. Handling the bar. That’s what we’re calling it now?" she quipped, a knowing look in her eyes. "I think someone should go say hello."
Before Spencer could protest, you approached their table, carrying a fresh round of drinks. "Here you go! Compliments of the house for the amazing work you all do," you said, your smile even brighter up close.
Spencer tried to find his voice, but all he managed was a slightly awkward, "Thank you. You’re so pretty–kind, this is so kind of you.”
Penelope, ever the social butterfly, seized the opportunity to introduce herself. "I'm Penelope, and this is Spencer. And you have impeccable taste in cocktails!"
You chuckled, clearly enjoying the interaction. "Thanks, Penelope. I do try to keep the drinks as interesting as the company. That’s why yours has a special twist," you said, turning your attention to Spencer with a wink.
Spencer flushed yet again, "Oh—oh, thank you. Um, what is it?"
"Pretty boy, why don't you just take a sip and see if you like it?" Derek suggested, grinning from ear to ear.
"Yeah, pretty boy. And don't spare my feelings; I'd be happy to make you something else," you offered charmingly, leaning in slightly.
Spencer took a sip and realized you'd made him an absolutely delicious mocktail. His eyes widened with appreciation. "Thank you so much, this is wonderful."
"Glad you like it!" you replied, your smile warm and genuine.
Emily Prentiss, ever curious, leaned forward. "I have to ask, how did you get into bartending?"
"Yeah!" Penelope added with a playful glint in her eye. "A beautiful thing such as yourself must get a lot of tips."
You giggled at their flattery, clearly enjoying the banter. "Ha! You guys are too much. I'm just putting myself through grad school."
"And the tips?" JJ chimed in, wiggling her shoulders, much to the amusement of everyone.
You leaned in closer, lowering your voice conspiratorially, which put your chest right next to Spencer's face. "I'm not technically supposed to say..." you trailed off, casting a playful glance at Will, who was sitting nearby, "but if Will here promises not to say anything, the tips are phenomenal!"
Will smiled and raised his hand in mock solemnity. "My lips are sealed, good lady," he assured you, playing along with the lighthearted mood.
Spencer was trying his best to keep his eyes forward during the interaction, but they kept drifting over before finally accepting his fate of staring at your chest. His mind was a whirl of confusion and embarrassment, his usual eloquence completely deserting him.
"I'd say Reid over here wants to give her more than a tip," Derek laughed, his voice full of good-natured teasing.
"Morgan," Hotch scolded, though not without a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Realizing how your position had flustered the poor, adorable man, you straightened up, giving Spencer a little space. He was clearly overwhelmed, his cheeks a brilliant shade of crimson.
Spencer, noticing everyone's eyes on him, suddenly felt the urge to escape. "Excuse me," he mumbled, getting up from the table and making a beeline for the bathroom, his heart pounding with mortification and exhilaration.
As he disappeared, Penelope sighed theatrically, casting a wistful look in your direction. "Well, if he doesn't make a move, I might have to!" she declared with a laugh, earning a chorus of agreement from the rest of the team.
You chuckled, feeling the warmth of the group's camaraderie and the genuine affection they had for one another. "You guys are a lot of fun," you admitted, feeling quite at ease despite the little whirlwind you'd unintentionally stirred.
Derek grinned at you, clearly enjoying the playful chaos. "Yeah, we're all sorts of fun. But don't worry about Spencer; he'll be back. Probably with a list of reasons why he shouldn't have left," he said, amusement dancing in his eyes.
You nodded, glancing toward the bathroom with a smile. "I'll have to make sure his drink doesn't get warm in the meantime."
Spencer stepped outside the bar, seeking a breath of fresh air to calm his racing thoughts. The air was humid, clinging to his skin, but it was a welcome change from the crowded bar where the laughter and clinking glasses seemed to amplify his embarrassment. He leaned against the brick wall, replaying every second from the moment he first saw you, analyzing each word and glance.
The way you'd leaned in, the warmth of your smile, and the kindness in your eyes—every detail felt vivid in his mind, refusing to be ignored. He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn't hear the door open behind him.
"Hey, handsome," came your voice, cutting through the evening air like a melody.
Spencer spun around, his heart skipping a beat. The learned fear of being approached from behind flashed through him for a brief moment before he realized it was you. "Oh, hi," he managed to say, trying to sound composed but failing spectacularly.
"Hey, now," you teased, a playful lilt in your voice. "Don't sound too excited to see me. I'll start to think you don't like me."
"Oh—I, I mean, well," Spencer stammered, fumbling for words. His mind raced to form coherent sentences, but the proximity of your presence and the way you looked at him made it nearly impossible.
"You’re really cute, do you know that?" you said, your smile softening the tension in the air. You stepped closer, leaning against the wall beside him, your eyes glinting with amusement.
Spencer blinked, momentarily caught off guard by your directness. "Um, thank you," he said, his voice filled with surprise and gratitude. "I don't usually get called that."
"Now that's a damn shame," you replied, shaking your head slightly. "What do you get called? Pretty? Beautiful? Charming? Sexy?"
Spencer laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Nerdy, weird, loser," he admitted, the words tumbling out with a self-deprecating shrug.
"Nope," you said firmly, crossing your arms as if the mere idea was ridiculous. "I refuse to believe anyone could have a negative thing to say about you. You’re sweeter than honey."
He met your gaze, slightly bewildered by your unwavering confidence in him. "I have an IQ of 187 and an eidetic memory, I can read 20,000 words per minute, and I have three PhDs. No one is calling me anything kind. Other than doctor or genius, maybe."
"Sexy," you corrected him with a teasing smile.
"What?" Spencer blinked again, this time in genuine confusion.
"That's downright sexy, sugar," you repeated, your voice low and playful.
Spencer was at a loss for words, an unusual occurrence for someone who usually had an answer for everything. His cheeks turned a deeper shade of red as he processed your words, his heart skipping a beat at the compliment.
"I—uh," he stammered, searching for a response that wouldn’t sound completely ridiculous.
You chuckled softly at his reaction, clearly enjoying the effect you had on him. "Don’t worry, I’m not trying to make you uncomfortable," you said, your tone gentle and reassuring. "I just think intelligence is incredibly attractive."
Spencer nodded slowly, still trying to wrap his head around the idea that someone found him attractive for more than just his intellect. "Thank you," he finally managed, his voice sincere. "That's… really nice to hear."
"You're welcome," you replied with a warm smile. "So, what brings you to New Orleans, sugar?"
Spencer relaxed slightly, grateful for the change in topic. "Work, mostly. We just wrapped up a case, and the team decided to take a night off to unwind."
"Well, I’m glad you did," you said, giving him a sidelong glance. "Otherwise, I might not have met the smartest—and sexiest—guy in New Orleans."
Spencer watched as you smiled, a hint of playfulness in your eyes as you leaned against the wall. The evening air was thick with humidity, but there was a certain warmth in the atmosphere that made everything feel alive.
"Can I get you a drink?" he offered, feeling a sudden burst of confidence.
“Sure, honey. I’m off in just over an hour. Will you wait for me?” you asked, your voice a smooth blend of charm and Southern warmth.
Spencer was entranced by your spell, your accent adding an extra layer of allure to every word. “Of–of course,” he replied, his voice tinged with both eagerness and a touch of awe.
Your smile widened, clearly pleased with his response. "Great! I promise I won't keep you waiting too long."
Spencer nodded, feeling a strange ball of nervousness and excitement fluttering in his chest. He couldn’t believe his luck; not only had he caught your attention, but now he had a reason to spend more time with you.
"Just hang tight, and I'll join you as soon as I can," you said, giving him a reassuring wink before heading back inside the bar to finish your shift.
As you slipped back through the door, Spencer took a moment to steady himself. The cool night air was a welcome contrast to the heat building inside him, a gentle reminder that this unexpected encounter was real.
Spencer returned to his friends, who were still enjoying their drinks and each other's company. Penelope Garcia spotted him first, her eyes lighting up with curiosity.
"Well, well, well, look who decided to come back," she teased, patting the empty seat beside her. "Did you have a nice chat with our lovely bartender?"
Spencer smiled, feeling a bit more composed now that he was among friends. "Yes, actually," he said, a hint of bashfulness in his voice. "She’s really nice."
Derek Morgan chuckled, shaking his head. "Nice? Man, she was practically making eyes at you, and you didn’t even notice."
"She was?" Spencer asked, genuinely surprised. "I mean, I thought she was just being friendly.”
Emily Prentiss laughed, taking a sip of her drink. "Spencer, I think you might need to brush up on your flirting skills. She was definitely interested."
Spencer blushed, his gaze dropping to the table as he tried to process this new information. "Well, she said she’d join me for a drink after her shift," he admitted, glancing around at his friends' reactions.
Penelope clapped her hands in delight. "Oh my gosh, this is so exciting! You have a date!"
"It's not a date," Spencer protested, though his smile betrayed his words. "We're just… having a drink."
"Uh-huh, sure," JJ said with a knowing nod. "But you better be on your best behavior, Doctor Reid."
The time passed more quickly than Spencer anticipated. As he sat with his friends, he found himself watching the clock, eager for the moment when he could see you again.
Finally, as the hour drew to a close, you emerged from behind the bar, having swapped your work apron for a casual yet stylish outfit that seemed to suit you perfectly. Spencer's heart skipped a beat at the sight of you, your presence a beacon of warmth in the dimly lit bar.
You approached the table with a confident stride, flashing a friendly smile at the team. "Hope I didn't keep y'all waiting too long," you said, your drawl a melodic touch to your words.
"Not at all," Spencer replied, standing up to greet you. "It was worth the wait."
Derek raised his glass in a mock toast. "Look at you, Reid, sounding like a proper gentleman."
You laughed, clearly enjoying the group. "Y'all are such a fun bunch. You might have to make this a regular stop."
Spencer felt a sense of ease settle over him, his earlier nerves fading into the background as he focused on the here and now. You were standing beside him, your presence both comforting and exhilarating, and he couldn’t help but feel grateful for this unexpected twist of fate.
"So," you said, turning your attention back to Spencer, "are you ready for that drink?"
"Definitely," he replied, feeling a surge of anticipation. "Lead the way."
With that, you guided Spencer to a quieter corner of the bar, where the noise of the crowd faded into a gentle hum. The dim lighting cast a warm glow over the wooden table, creating an intimate setting. Spencer felt his heart beat a little faster, knowing that this was a chance to learn more about the intriguing woman who had captured his attention so effortlessly.
Spencer settled into the booth across from you, his hands fidgeting slightly with the edge of his sleeve. He offered you a small, bashful smile, the kind that hinted at both his excitement and nervousness. "So," he began, searching for the right words, "I guess this is the part where I ask you about your favorite drink, but it feels a bit redundant given your expertise."
You chuckled, leaning forward with a playful glint in your eye. "Well, I'm always up for a good mystery. Surprise me, Dr. Reid. What would you imagine my favorite drink to be?"
Spencer blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the challenge. He considered your question, his mind racing through various options. "Hmm, I’d guess something classic but with a twist. Maybe an Old Fashioned, but with a splash of something unexpected like lavender or ginger."
Your eyes widened in mock surprise, clearly impressed. "Not bad, Spencer. I have to admit, I do like a bit of lavender in my Old Fashioned."
Spencer felt a surge of pride at getting it right, his awkward charm shining through as he said, "I, uh, thought it might match your personality—elegant with a hint of something uniquely you."
You smiled, your gaze softening as you watched him. "That’s sweet of you to say," you replied, your voice carrying a gentle warmth that made his heart skip a beat.
The conversation flowed naturally, with Spencer occasionally stumbling over his words in an endearing way that made you smile. He was unlike anyone you’d met before, his intelligence paired with a genuine kindness that was refreshing and intriguing.
As you talked, you noticed how Spencer's eyes seemed to light up when he spoke about his work and the things he was passionate about. His enthusiasm was contagious, and you found yourself leaning in closer, captivated by his stories and the way he seemed to pour his heart into everything he did.
"So, Spencer," you said, your voice taking on a more playful tone, "do you always get this nervous around women, or is it just me?"
Spencer let out a soft laugh, his cheeks flushing slightly. "Well, I—I suppose it's not every day I get to talk to someone as captivating as you," he admitted, his honesty shining through despite his awkwardness.
You grinned, clearly enjoying the effect you had on him. "Captivating, huh? I'll take that as a compliment."
"It is," Spencer assured you, his gaze steady despite the flutter of nerves in his chest. "You have this way of commanding attention. It's, um, quite impressive."
You reached across the table, lightly touching his hand with yours. "And you have a way of making people feel appreciated, Spencer. That's a rare quality."
Spencer felt a spark at the contact, his heart beating a little faster. The moment seemed to stretch out, charged with an energy that was both thrilling and a bit nerve-wracking.
"You know," you said softly, your eyes meeting his with a hint of mischief, "I think you're pretty special, too. Not just for your brain, but for who you are."
Spencer swallowed, his mind racing with thoughts he couldn’t quite articulate. He felt a pull toward you, a magnetic force that seemed to draw him closer with every word and gesture.
"Thank you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "That means a lot coming from you."
You smiled, your eyes holding his in a gaze that seemed to speak volumes. As if sensing the moment, the bar around you seemed to fade into the background, leaving just the two of you in your own little world.
Spencer hesitated for a fraction of a second, his mind caught between doubt and desire. But then he saw the encouragement in your eyes, and the decision seemed to make itself.
He leaned across the table, his movements tentative but filled with intent. You met him halfway, closing the distance with a gentle ease that made the moment feel right.
The kiss was soft and tentative, a sweet brush of lips that carried the promise of something more. Spencer felt his heart soar, the warmth of the connection spreading through him like a gentle tide.
When you finally pulled back, your eyes locked onto his, a smile playing at the corners of your lips. "See?" you teased, your voice a soft murmur. "That wasn't so hard, was it?"
Spencer chuckled, relief and happiness washing over him. "No," he admitted, his voice filled with newfound confidence. "I guess it wasn't."
You grinned, leaning back with a satisfied air. "Good, because I was planning on doing that again," you said, your eyes sparkling with mischief.
Spencer felt his heart skip at the prospect, the evening stretching out before him with endless possibilities. He realized that this unexpected encounter could be more than just a chance meeting.
And as he sat there, sharing a quiet moment with you in the corner of the bar, Spencer knew that he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
“Did you guys see that??” Penelope burst out, her eyes wide with excitement as she pointed toward the cozy corner where you and Spencer were sitting.
Emily turned her head just in time to catch a glimpse of the sweet interaction, her lips curving into a knowing smile. "Looks like our genius finally made his move," she commented, clearly pleased by the development.
Derek, ever the supportive friend, couldn't contain his enthusiasm. “Pretty boy is putting in the work!” he exclaimed, clapping his hands together in approval. “I knew he had it in him.”
JJ shook her head with a laugh, leaning back in her chair. "I guess we all underestimated Spencer's game," she said, casting a proud glance toward her colleague.
Beside her, Will LaMontagne joined in the teasing, a playful grin on his face. "JJ, you might have a new travel buddy when you come to see me," he teased, nudging her with his elbow. "Looks like Spencer's found himself a reason to visit New Orleans more often."
JJ chuckled, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "Well, I can’t say I blame him. She's a real catch."
Aaron Hotchner, usually reserved and composed, allowed himself a small smile as he watched the interaction unfold. It was rare for Spencer to let his guard down, and it was heartening to see him embrace this new connection.
"Good for him," Hotch remarked, his tone approving as he raised his glass in a quiet toast to Spencer's success.

After you had given him your number, he had tried his hardest not to call. He knew that if he blew you off you would most likely never speak to him again and therefore, be safe. You would be able to live a life without having to worry about his safety, growing angry at missed dates or appointments, fearing going out in public just in case you ran into a criminal.
Yet, despite the hard facts, his heart had somehow taken control of his brain and caused him to throw caution to the wind. It had only been a day of resisting temptation before his fingers pressed your number into keypad of his flip phone, and he cursed at how easily he was willing to endanger your life. But as soon as his ears were met with your buttery voice, he knew he was a damn fool not to call you earlier.
Your first date was one for the books. What you had interpreted as “going to the theatre” turned out to be a reenactment of the 19 century Phantasmagoria.
“Oh. I thought when you meant theatre it was supposed to be a play of some sort.” You looked around the lobby of the theatre as Spencer handed the teller his tickets.
“Well, technically, it is. It’s a form of horror theatre that projects skeletons, demons, ghosts and other such creatures onto walls, with techniques that make the image easy to move around or to change size. The shows started under the guise of seances in the late 18th century, particularly in Germany but gained popularity in the 19th century all throughout Europe. Some shows even use certain smells, electric shock, fasting, or drugs to enhance the experience for the viewer.” He caught your questioning glance and pinked, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. “Not that this show practices any of those methods, you are completely safe, I swear.“
You started to laugh, covering your mouth with your hands as to not draw too much attention to yourself. Spencer watched you nervously, wondering if he had done something wrong.
“I’m sorry. I should have asked first if this would be something you’re interested in before purchasing the tickets but I was just…. overhasty, I guess, at your request to plan the date. Looking at it now… this seems as if it is not the most romantic gesture I could have planned.” His cheeks pinked and he started to panic. “We can go somewhere else. Anywhere else!” He offered, surprised at you shaking your head.
“Spencer, no one I’ve ever dated has ever brought me to anything quite like this. This seems so much fun! And hey, if I get scared you can do that cheesy thing where you wrap your arm around me, hmm?” You smiled, taking his hand in yours. “Lead the way!”
Spencer’s mouth twitched, heart thumping wildly in his chest. He wanted nothing more than to kiss you right where you stood, but there was time for that. He couldn’t rush. He squeezed your hand softly, tugging you inside the dark theatre to find your seats.
Eventually Spencer had given you that toe-curling, leg-popping, dreamy kiss that he had wanted to, and from then on, your relationship was like a dream. Of course there were the days where you had the late shift and he was out of town, sometimes for weeks at a time, but as soon as the two of you reunited it was as if he never left.
You had been dating him for quite a few months now, but still had yet to say those three little words. There was the issue of not meeting any of his friends or coworkers, whom he spoke so much about. It made you wonder if he was ashamed of you, a lowly waitress dating a Supervisory Special Agent of the Behavioral Analysis Unit.
Turns out it was quite the opposite.
-
“Suspect is on the move.” Prentiss whispered to her phone as she stalked the subject in question. “He doesn’t seem to be in any rush. Perhaps we’re mistaken?”
“Prentiss you know as well as I that our margin for error is quite small.” Hotchner replied, irritation lacing his tone. “Garcia, Morgan, you got eyes on the victim?”
“We have eyes.” Derek confirmed. He and Garcia were posing as a couple as to not arouse suspicion.
“How about you, JJ? Rossi?"
"We can see Emily, and the suspect.” Rossi replied adjusting his position in the car he and JJ were sitting in.
“Great, I’m on my way to the rendezvous point. Meet you all there.” Hotchner commanded, effectively ending the call.
“They’re pretty.” Garcia lowered the menu in front of her to meet Morgan’s eyes. “I am still so frustrated at the fact that Spencer kept the fact that he had a significant other hidden from his very best friends! What are we, just co-workers? The nerve!” She hissed, quieting once she saw you approach the table.
“Are we ready to order?” You plastered on your customer service smile, pen and paper ready to jot down their orders.
“Actually, we’re just waiting on more members of our party.” Morgan explained, craning his neck to eye the door. The pair had chosen a large table near the back of the restaurant to stay out of sight. “But I’ll take a water, please.”
“Me too!” Garcia chimed, trying to take in all the details of your appearance. You nodded, placing your notepad back in your apron.
“No problem! I’ll be back to check on you in a few minutes.” You swiftly turned on your heel, almost bumping in to a tall, broad man. You muttered an apology, heading back to the kitchen.
“Is that them?” Hotchner asked, pulling out a chair next to Morgan.
“It has to be, they’re the only person who’s working that doesn’t have a wedding ring on their finger. Unless Spencer proposed and didn’t tell us that as well!” Garcia fumed.
“Baby girl, I don’t think Spencer would be the type to propose without telling us.” Morgan tried to calm her but she clearly wasn’t having any of it.
“Who knows what he’s capable of hiding? What next, a secret love child?” She whispered, lifting her menu back up.
“JJ and Rossi decided to pass Prentiss, whose ETA is 7 minutes.” Hotchner ignored Garcia’s ramblings, picking up a menu for himself and surveying the options. “They should be here…” The automated doorbell chimed as the pair entered the diner. “Now.”
“Penelope,” JJ approached the group, taking a seat next to the woman and placing a comforting hand on her back. “How are you holding up?”
“I’ve decided he’s uninvited for my Winter Solstice party. And Christmas. And New Years. If I find out he’s lying about anything else he will not be receiving an invitation for my Valentine’s Day Soiree, that’s for damn certain.”
“Don’t be too harsh on the kid.” Rossi chuckled, scanning the perimeter. “So who’s exactly our "victim” here?“ He lifted his fingers, finding the usage of police jargon in this case quite hilarious.
Morgan turned, eyes catching your figure. "2 o'clock. My 2 o'clock."
"When you turn to face them we both have the same 2 o'clock.” JJ sighed, passing Rossi a menu.
“Good for Spencer.” He whistled, reaching for the booklet when his phone buzzed. “Prentiss says he’s walking through the door.” The chime went off again, prompting the team to quickly pick up their menus to cover their faces.
“Hey!” You greeted, giving him a swift peck on the cheek before he sat on one of the stools at the counter. “It’s a little busy tonight but I should be off in…15 minutes? Then we can head to dinner."
"That’s alright, I’m in no hurry.” Spencer smiled, leaning his head on his fist, staring at you with that wistful gaze that made your heart melt.
“I’ll be back! If you want anything, let me know.” You ruffled his hair, grabbing a water jug from the counter and heading back to the crowded tables.
Prentiss came in through the side entrance, not wanting Spencer to spot her accidentally. She shrugged off her coat and took the last empty chair, quickly hiding her face with a menu.
“2 o'clock.” JJ nudged, tilting her chin in your direction. Prentiss took a moment to eye your figure before nodding to herself. Good for Spence.
“Garcia?” Prentiss mumbled.
“Uninvited from Winter Solstice, Christmas, New Years, and maybe Valentine’s Day.”
“Sound about right.” Prentiss assessed. “He’ll be paying for this for a long time."
"Hello!” You chirped startling the team, filling Morgan’s and Garcia’s glasses with ice water. “Can I get you started with some drinks?”
While waiting for you, Spencer was lost in thought, wondering exactly how he was going to tell you that he loved you over dinner. Should it be before we order? During the meal? Perhaps he would tell you before you even reached the restaurant, in your apartment while he waited for you to get changed. He wanted it to be perfect.
Of course, he realized, as much as he wanted to tell you, he was aware that something was missing. You had introduced him to all your friends, and he had yet to do the same. He was unsure of how to tell the team after so long. They would be furious if he broke the news he was dating someone after months of being in a relationship, so he kept putting it off. This was only adding to the problem, but he was unsure of what to do. He figured he could tell Morgan soon enough, see how he reacted, and then tell each of the team individually.
Your cheerful voice brought him out of his stupor and he searched to find you. You wore a smile, but were clearly antsy to get off your shift. He was about to turn back to the counter when he observed that a man from the table you were at almost looked like Hotchner.
Wait a minute… that was Hotchner!
What are they doing here?! Spencer thought, leg starting to jiggle against the metal framework of the stool. He waited until after you poured their respective waters, took their orders, and collected their menus before heading over to the table.
“What are you guys doing here?” He hissed, resting his hands on the table.
“Excuse me sir, do we know you?” Prentiss asked, crossing her arms. “You almost look like a friend of ours, but that friend wouldn’t hide the fact that he’s in a relationship, now would he Garcia?”
“Well, our associate is so complicated… who knows what he’s capable of.” Penelope raised her brows, giving him a pointed glance.
“So you guys…”
“We already figured out Y/n is your partner. Morgan brought up your irregular behavior, and Garcia looked through your credit card reports to find that you spend an awful lot of time at this place. Prentiss informed us that you have started exiting the subway at a different stop than usual, not to mention, facial recognition scanners from a social media account one can assume is Y/n’s… it was not that hard to put all the pieces together.” Hotchner explained, taking a sip from his glass.
“When were you planning on telling us, young man?” Rossi asked, leaning back in his seat.
“Soon! I swear I just… I didn’t know how to tell you guys.” Spencer admitted, tucking a loose strand of hair behind his ear.
“ ‘Hey JJ, I have a girlfriend,’ might have been a good place to start.” The blonde female pointed out, sighing.
“It’s not as simple as that I-”
“Spence?” You asked, approaching the table. “Do you uh, know these folks?”
“Oh, Y/n! Hi! Yeah I know these people…” Spencer smiled, clearly caught off guard.
“And how exactly do you know my lovely customers?” You gestured with your hand for him to explain.
“Y/n… um… these are… these are my friends. They were so excited to meet you, they rushed down here without telling me. I know you’ve been asking to meet them… so here they are.” Your expression instantly changed, a genuine smile overtaking your face. Garcia went to interject, when Rossi raised his hand. Play along.
“You work at the BAU with Spence? I’m so happy to meet you guys! I just- We were going to go to dinner… What if we just stayed here? I should be able to get off, and I won’t even have to change!” You gave Spencer a pleading look, and he nodded. At least he hadn’t made reservations…
The rest of the evening was spent in laughter, you getting to talk to each member of the team and hear work stories that weren’t related to cases. After you had all parted ways, Spencer offered to walk you home.
“And that one story Aaron told about your "science-magic”? Priceless! You looked so embarrassed.“ You laughed into the night sky, breath forming cloudy puffs as you spoke. Your hands were intertwined, and Spencer felt his heart stutter.
"I’m so glad you finally introduced me to your friends! I thought… well, I was wondering why it was taking so long to get a proper introduction.” You mumbled.
“I’m sorry I just… I didn’t tell them we had started to date. At first, you were this secret I wanted to keep all to myself. But then weeks turned to months and then I found myself falling n love with you and it felt so wrong to just spring it on the team that I had met this amazing person and fell in love when they didn’t even realize I was dating yet.” He explained.
“You love me?” You asked, stopping where you stood.
“I uh, what?” He laughed, backpedaling his speech until he realized what you were referring to. “Oh um… I wanted to tell you tonight, over dinner. This is perhaps the opposite of how I wanted to tell you actually, I mean, there were going to be candles, and breadsticks- I know how much you like breadsticks and I- oomph!” Spencer’s ramblings were cut short when you pulled him into your embrace, kissing him softly.
“I love you too, Spencer.” You smiled as you pulled apart. “I love you too.”
—-
buzz buzz
“Hey baby girl what’s-”
“He told them he loved them!” Garcia’s rushed cries echoed throughout the receiver. “He told them he loved them and told me so he could invite them as his plus one to all the parties! Derek, Derek! This is huge.” Morgan softly chuckled on the other end of the line.
“Well… what do you know?”

“This is killing me” Part Nine - Spencer Reid x female reader
Summary : You’re working for the BAU, and Dr Spencer  Reid is your best friend on the  team. Actually, he’s your best friend,   pErIoD. The thing is, you’re not  supposed to feel that way about your    best friend.  He makes you feel some type of way, everyone in the  team can see it, except you and him.
In the previous chapter, you tried to relax during the holidays. You spend some time with your cousin Alex, which was nice, but you also had an interesting chat with an ex-beau of yours, named Ben. The chemistry between the two of you was undeniable, and you felt tempted to give in... but in the end of the day, you couldn’t deny the truth : you still loved Spencer. Even if he was going to go on a date with officer Maggie Rowe, a very intelligent and attractive woman the team met on a previous case.
You can find all the previous chapters here.
Chapter Summary : After a long silence, you finally hear from Spencer again. You’re curious and ask about his date with Maggie, and what he tells you sends you in a frenzy. As jealousy eats you up, you try to take your mind off of the man you love. Will all of this lead you to a bad decision ?
TW : Mental exhaustion, jealousy, swearing, alcohol, very slight smut, overall angst.Y/N is going through IT y’all !  (why the fuck did I use “y’all”, I’m french for fucks sake)
Tumblr media
(Not my GIF)
You hadn't heard from Spencer in a while. But one night, you got a text. Seeing his name on your screen made your heart go absolutely insane. It was short and sweet, and it made you smile really hard. "Hey y/n. Hope you're okay. I'm worried about you. P.S : Mom says hi". You truly didn't deserve that sweet man. After giving him the cold shoulder, he was coming back to hear from you, to tell you he thought about you and cared about your well-being. Truth be told, your mind was a mess. You were supposed to rest, and physically, that's what you were trying to do. But mentally ? You were torn appart between what you were supposed to do about Spencer;  if you were supposed to tell him anything at all, and destroy years and years of a beautiful friendship, and a possible relationship with a woman he seemed to like... and accepting things as they were, letting him build something with Maggie, and distance yourself from him, knowing you couldn't stand to spend too much time away from him. No matter what you were going to do, things had to change. It couldn't stay that way after all. You had to think about your own sanity as well.
If the date went well, and you saw him really happy with her, you would respect it. What was the other alternative ? The date wouldn't go well, and then that would be your cue to act on your feelings ? Who were you kidding ? You were just paralyzed. And then there was Ben too. You told him the truth, but it didn't mean your heart didn't flutter a little, when you thought about him. Which was often, whenever you thought about your last conversation. How could you be so mad at Spencer, for getting closer to another woman, when your own feelings were all over the place ? You knew you loved Spencer, but he didn't. So on the outside, things were just as they had always been. He saw other people, and you saw other people. You were so naive, believing that you finally acknowledging your own feelings for your bestfriend, would make everything else magically fall into place. Nothing had changed ! You were still stuck at square one.
"Hey Spence. I'm fine, don't worry about me. How are you ? Hope your mom is okay !" You hesitated before texting the rest. You knew it was going to hurt, but you couldn't stop yourself, you had to know. "Have you been on that freakin' date yet ?". It didn't take a while before you saw his name pop up on your screen again. You were scared to open the text, so you left your phone for a moment, trying to focus on that new TV show Garcia had told you about. Your phone rang again, and *speaking of the devil*, you saw Penelope's name appear on your screen. "Helloooo gorgeous ! I'm bored. And I miss you already. Meet me at the bar in an hour. (P.S : in case you haven't noticed, this isn't a question, it's an order. You better get your ass over there.) Deaaar, deaaar Garcia. How could you kindly tell her you weren't in the mood to go out tonight ? That's when you decided to check Spencer's text. "I'm good, but I miss you. Mom's okay. It's tonight, actually... I'm getting ready to meet her. Wish me luck ?"
Fuck. Fuck. FUCK. FUUUUUUUCK. That was it. Tonight was the night you had been dreading. You had changed your mind. Drinking your heart out with Garcia seemed like an amazing idea now. You had to fight the impulse to give a cold and shitty answer. Enough with the childish behavior. All you could do was wait. But that made you feel like shit. You were waiting for something that might never happen. What exactly were you waiting for ? Was your entire relationship with Spencer leading up to this moment ? Was this the decisive factor that would alter an amazing "friendship" ? You didn't want to wait on anything anymore. You wanted to live your life, to feel free. Every single one of your thought was bringing you back to him, to the one thing you so desperately craved, and you had enough. The overwhelming panic that smothered you completely, overshadowed the fact that he also told you he missed you. How could he say that, and then go on a date with Maggie *look at me I'm so pretty and witty and funny* Rowe ? But then, how could you be mad, when a couple of days ago, you told Ben you felt like, quote unquote "fucking his brains out" ??? You wished you could just tell your brain to shut the hell up. Just press a button, and not have a single thought to disrupt your inner peace. You answered Garcia first : "Yes Ma'am. Copy that. I definitely need a drink tonight. And before you ask : Spence is going on that fucking date TONIGHT. That's why. See you there." Then, Spencer : "I miss you too man. You don't need any luck, she's already super into you. You'll be fine. You should wish ME luck though, I'm having drinks with Garcia. Might pass out later in the night !" That was good enough, right ? Friend to friend ? You rolled your eyes at yourself. "What the fuck, y/n ?"
///
You had a good time with Garcia. You always did. She was this little ray of sunshine who wasn't afraid of being her true authentic self, and you admired her for that. You told her everything, between that insightful conversation with Ben, to your time with your cousin, and how that fucking date made you feel. You went on a lengthy rant, and she listened, like the true friend she was. You were so grateful for her. After that night where you were all together at the bar, she didn't have much to add to the conversation. You knew how she felt, and what she thought you should do. But tonight, you just needed to get all of this out of your system, and she understood it. She was even happy, that you were being so honest now. You spend so much time trying to contradict her and Morgan, to lie to them. Then, you both got drunk, had a couple of cute guys flirt with you two, just to get some more drinks, you danced, you played pool, and you drank some more, before calling an uber to go home. Garcia collapsed on your sofa, and snored like a motherfucker.
As you sat on your bed, reality kind of hit you again, despite the high blood alcohol level in your system. It was funny how everyone thought alcohol helped in those moments, when in reality, in kind of made eveything worse. You thought you were going to pass out in your bed, but you couldn't help but obsess over the outcome of the date.
Were they still together ? Was she playfully nudging his arm like you did ? Was she deeply staring into his pretty hazel eyes ? Was he sweetly stroking her hand, like he would yours ? Did he laugh at her jokes ? Did she listen to everything he had to say, no matter how incongruous it was, with all the patience and the open-mindedness in the world, like you did ? Jesus, this was awful. Was that what Spence thought about too, when he learned about your dates ? Was his mind getting totally out of control too ?
The date was probably extended to her or his place. You imagined hers somehow. She had probably put on a beautiful little dress. They were sitting on he couch, and she'd get closer and closer to him, up until their nose would slightly touch. He'd give in, and kiss her gently. God, you were feeling sick. You hated how you felt. You whole body hated it. You hated it, but you just couldn't stop thinking about them. Together. Her hands on him, running through his perfect hair, touching the very skin you so intensely craved. Him running out of breath, whispering her name. Praising her, wanting more. In that moment, you hated her more than you ever hated anyone in your life. This was absolute torture. You wanted him to be happy. God knew that man suffered enough. But...
You took your phone as you were completely inebriated, ready to make a stupid fucking mistake. If Garcia was awake, she would probably yell at you, and confiscate your phone. But she wasn't, so who cared. Who were you going to text ? First, you went to Spencer's name. You started to write everything that came to mind without thinking. Then, you erased everything. After, your searched for Ben's name. You could tell him to come to your place, to fuck the pain away and forget about everything again, for a moment.
What ?! No, you couldn't do that, y/n. Eventually, you just threw your phone accross your bedroom, not caring about the worrying sound it made when it fell. You didn't know how, but somehow you managed to fall asleep, the wine trying to numb your bruised heart.

Farewell Criminal Minds!
For 15 years this show has been a big part of my life. Through high school, college, my first years on the job, suicidal ideations, good times, better times and anything and everything in between, Criminal Minds has been a constant for me. I fell in love with the characters from the very beginning and without them and this show I wouldn’t be who I am today.
As the show comes to a close, I find myself both sad and happy. It’s over, sure, but it brought me so many close friends that I couldn’t imagine my life without. It brought me a love of writing that has included fanfiction and original work. The show made me a writer. It and so many of the OG CM accounts inspired me to start writing and know I consider ‘writer’ as an integral part of who I am. How cool is that? A show and so many of its amazing fans have made me who I am today.
Though the show is over, let the fandom remain dedicated. And always remember:
Spencer Reid taught us its okay for us to embrace who we are in every way, no matter what.
Derek Morgan taught us that our pasts do not define us. What matters is how we conduct ourselves each and every day.
Jennifer Jareau taught us that we can make our lives what we want them to be. Family-oriented, professional, both, it doesn’t matter. We can be who we want to be and are better people because of it.
Emily Prentiss taught us it’s okay to take a step back to find ourselves and it’s okay if your family is the one you’ve chosen rather than the one you were born into.
Penelope Garcia taught us to smile in the face of negativity and adversity. It’s hard and it can rarely be done alone, but it can be done and we’re all the better for it.
David Rossi taught us what it means to family - there for each other through thick and thin.
Tara Lewis taught us to stand tall, drop that ‘weight’ and walk around like the badasses we are.
Luke Alvez taught us the value of friendship and how quickly it can form.
Matt Simmons taught us not to let the poison of our jobs and everyday lives snake their way into precious family time.
Aaron Hotchner taught us to always do what is right, even though it may not be easy.
Tagging a bunch of CM accounts that have made my experience what it is today: @heycasbutt @cherrybombs-and-rabbitholes @thespringpriestess @illegalcerebral @stunudo @remember-me-forever-silent-angel @veroinnumera @brywrites @beautiful-bau-beau @gayreids @girlscrushes @imagine-criminal-minds @ilikepipecleanerswitheyes @hotchnerfuckmeup @kalie-bee @literallyprentissstwin @merlxn-emrys @madamredwrites @naturallytom @notsopersonalcharlie @original-criminal-fanfics @obsessedwithspencerreid @prettyboyeffect @princesswagger16 @reid-fiction @reiding-and-writing @reidreader @rmmalta @spencereidings @spence-imagines @spencerthepipecleaner @toyboxboy  @ummspencerreid @wonderboygenius @zugzwangxo @chaotic-fanfics @jockjenniferjareau @itsmeedee @mcuparkers @tenaciousarcadeexpert @marvelfanlife @bucky-smiles @spencescurls @collinsstanharbour @livingtheobsessedlife @bleedreid @hotch-and-reid @tippy06 @wanderlustbynature @comehealinmyarms

Matchmaker
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Rossi had a feeling that Y/N and Reid were meant for each other.
I knew my daughter was attracted to Reid even before I knew of her paternity. There were glances that lasted a bit too long, shared coffee drinks when they thought others weren't looking, platonic dates that both said wouldn't go anywhere... If they thought they were kidding me, then they had another thing coming. Reid had it just as bad for my daughter.
Then I noticed that Reid started being depressed. “Hey, Reid, you okay?” I asked.
“Yeah...” After I glared at him, our resident genius shook his head. “Y/N’s boyfriend told her to break up our friendship. Rossi, I think he hits her. She won't listen to me anymore without making excuses for him.”
“I’d rather have you for a son in law.” I mumbled as I saw my daughter come in, wearing a turtleneck sweater. I quickly put a smile on my face. “Good morning mia figlia. Are we still on for tomorrow night?”
“Uh, no, dad... Archie and I decided to stay in.” Y/N mumbled. I blinked. This was unexpected. I’d never liked Archwell Garner. There was something about him that made me just as suspicious as I was with my stepdaughter’s former beau.
“Oh...” I said with disappointment clear in my voice. “Y/N, are you okay?” I asked.
“Fine...” she replied.
---
I knew I was lying to Dad by saying everything was fine but after Archie threatened Spencer's and Dad’s life if I did not resign from the Bureau yesterday, I decided to go through with it. If I could save Dad and Spencer, I’d have no regrets.
Okay, I'm aware that both are quite capable of protecting themselves, Spencer has an ankle holster for Pete's sake...but I've long since believed I've never been Spencer's match. Despite Penelope Garcia saying that Spencer and I were one of the BAU’s cutest couples, I've always felt that I wasn't good enough for the resident genius.
“You’ve been staring at that sentence for 15 minutes.” Spencer pointed out as I pulled out my resignation letter.
“I have something I need to talk to Prentiss about.” I said and got up.
“Hey, come over to my apartment after work. We still have the Tenth Doctor to finish.” Spencer invited as I started walking towards Emily’s office.
“I can't, Archie...” I tried to explain yet again to see Spencer roll his eyes.
“You deserve better!” Spencer called out. I wanted to ask him who he had in mind but buried that detail. Luckily, Emily was alone.
“Y/L/N, what's wrong?” Emily asked. I shut the door and closed the blinds.
“I need help, Emily. I can't tell Dad or Spence but Archie has demanded that I leave the Bureau. If I don't, he’ll kill them. Preferably in front of me.” Emily stared stonily at me, reminding me of her predecessor, Aaron Hotchner. “He’s also done this.” I roll down my turtleneck to reveal angry bruises just as I hear shouting from Spence and Luke. They were arguing with Archie.
“Stay here.” Emily said. ”Simmons, stay with her.” Matt nodded and did as Emily asked.
“I can't leave the Bureau.” I said to Matt.
“Nobody who's important is asking you to.” Matt replied. “In fact, I'm willing to bet that Reid will beg you to stay.”
“Yeah because I’m technically the only one aside from Luke and you that has any interest in his ramblings.” I muttered. I found them fascinating.
Emily came back into her office, Spencer right behind her, though he was heading to the conference room. “We have a case, you two.” Matt nodded. “Your issue has been dealt with but just to warn you, both Reid and your father want to speak with you.” she said. I knew what they'd say, so I just nodded.
---
I sat down in the back of the jet, hoping both my dad and Reid would leave me alone. No such luck. My dad sat down next to me. “Why didn't you tell me or Reid?” he asked. I frowned and folded my arms.
“Because he threatened both your lives. He even went into exact detail about how he’d kill Spencer.” I said.
“I hate not being able to protect you, Y/N. That's my job as your father and a job I would trust Reid with.”
“Dad, we're just friends.” I mumbled, just as Spencer craned his neck to look at me.
“Something tells me Reid didn't get the memo because as he told your new ex earlier, Don’t touch what's no longer yours.” my dad says. I blinked. “As to being just friends, Y/N, I don't think friends let friends drink from their coffee cup to try a new coffee flavor and they definitely do not look at said friend with love in their eyes, as in the way Reid is looking at you now.”
I look at Spencer in shock but he's already reading a book.
---
I wanted to kill Garcia for pairing me with Reid for room assignments. I wasn't ready to face him yet. “It was my idea.” Spencer said as he pulled a couple of books out of his go bag.
“Huh?” I asked.
“For us to be roommates.” he replied. I looked at him. “When I said that you deserved better, I meant it.” I tried to squash the hope that he’d choose me. We’d always been friends but I now realized that Archie had meant to destroy both the relationship I had with Spencer and my self esteem.
“Who’d you have in mind?” I asked, crossing my arms. He looked at me.
“How about me?” Spencer replied.
I shake my head. “I don't deserve you.” I mumble. “I’m not good enough for you.” Once again, Archie’s words from last night echoed in my mind when I had gathered the courage to tell him we were through.
‘Why would Noodle Man find you sexy when I don't? You can't give a decent blow job, you can’t satisfy me! I have to go pick up hookers to get off because you're so inadequate!’ ran through my head.
“Why don’t you let me decide who deserves me, hmm?” Spencer asked, sitting next to me. My heart raced as I realized Spencer was very close to me.  He gently cupped my face and kissed me passionately. When he pulled away, he said, “Take off your shirt. I want to see what he did to you.” I pulled off my shirt. Besides the ring of bruises gracing my neck, there were a few fresh welts on my back. Spencer thinned his lips in anger.
Embarrassed, I started putting it back on when Spencer took the shirt off and threw it across the room. “Spence?”
“He hurt you.” Spencer quietly seethed as he took me into his arms. “I should have been there to protect you!”
“You’re here now. Are you sure you want me?” Spencer nodded.
“You’ve had me since the first hello, Y/N.” Spencer said, which made me go scarlet from the memory. When we met, I had tripped and ended up with my face pressed against his crotch. I had bolted away, stuttering apologies.
“What if I can't satisfy you?”
“Straddle me.” Spencer said. I did and widened my eyes when I sat down on his growing bulge. “I go home every night hard as a rock because I have too many fantasies of you!”
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked as he nuzzled my neck.
"I was going to but then you introduced Archie as your boyfriend and I thought I'd lost my chance." Spencer explained.
"You haven't." I said quietly as I nipped at his neck. "Why are you telling me this now?" Spencer blinked back tears.
"Because I love you and I can't stand the thought of you with someone else.” he said. He bit his lip. “Unless you don't feel th...
“Shut up and just fuck me, Spencer.” I growled, trying to create friction between us. “I’ve never wanted anyone else to fuck me this badly.” A smirk lifted Spencer's lips.
“Are you sure? Once we start, I might not be able to stop.” he whispered. I answered by grinding my hips against his. Then doubt took over. It must have showed on my face because Spencer stopped kissing me. “Sparkles, what's wrong?”
“I tried to leave Archie last night, Spence. He said, ‘who are you going to turn to when I'm not there? Noodle man? Why would he find you sexy when I don't? You can't give a decent blow job, you can’t satisfy me! I have to go pick up hookers to get off because you're so inadequate!’ What if I can't satisfy you?”
“He is a blind, moronic asshole who didn't appreciate what he had, Y/N!” Spencer exploded, then his expression softened. He bit his lip.
“I think, no...I know that I’m in love with you, and that scares the crap out of me.” I answered.
“Why?” Spencer asked.
“You’re my best friend. I don't want to lose you or that ever.” I said. His lips feathered over mine in a gentle, soft kiss.
“I want to build this onto our friendship.” Spencer admitted, resting his forehead against mine.
“Meaning you want me to pretend to be your wife?” I asked. I wasn't sure what he meant.
“Who said anything about pretending? Your father would prefer me as a son in law and we have dated.”
“Platonically, Spencer. Not romantically.” I corrected. Spencer smirked.
“Same difference.” he said dismissively. “So, would you prefer to become my wife before or after you carry my child?” he asked in my ear. I gasped in shock as he gently pushed me down onto the bed and captured my left nipple with his mouth. “Or during?” he said, taunting me.
“Spence...” I whimpered as he worked both nipples into tight peaks.
“I hope you know you’re mine forever.” Spencer murmured. “Do you like it when I touch you like that?” I nodded. He kissed my nose then continued southwards. “You’re so beautiful.”
“No I'm not.” I said. Spencer growled.
“Did he lead you to believe that? I've had countless hours of fantasies. Your breasts are the perfect size to fit into my palm. I love your curviness.” Spencer stroked my hip.
I was taken by surprise, when he moved lower, trailing kiss after kiss across my stomach, and then bent his head to my mound, pulling my legs up to rest on his shoulders. His fingers and tongue caressed me. “Spence...” I moaned.
“Archie doesn't know what he's talking about. I get satisfied just by pleasuring you. Fucker...” he mumbled. Between his tongue and the slow, gentle thrusts of two of his long, piano fingers within me, once in a while brushing across a part of me that made me thrust back, the pleasure seemed to make something wind up tightly inside of me.
"Spencer," I gasped, "I want you inside me, now." I'm sure that I meant it as an order, though it sounded more like a plea.
"You're sure?" he queried.
"Yes." he leaned over suddenly, reaching to open the bedside drawer. He groped for something for a moment, before pulling out a condom. "No." I said, shaking my head. He understood and put the condom back. It took a moment but he brought my sex to nearly meet his own. I rolled my hips, begging him to just hurry up, impatient to quell the fire burning within.
He had fumbled a bit, missing his mark twice before he slowly entered me. I loosely wrapped my legs around his waist as he began to thrust, slowly, with utmost care. One hand caressed my body, while the other cradled my head as he kissed my lips once more. I eagerly tasted the mix of my juices with the bittersweet flavor that was all Spencer.
He found that spot within me, easily rubbing against it with each thrust of our hips crashing against each other. We both worked into a frenzied pace, until finally that spring within me broke, unleashing wave after wave of euphoric pleasure while Spencer's thrusts continued, though now short and urgent. Suddenly he stilled, and I watched as every muscle tensed.
Still recovering from my own climax I could feel his throbbing length pulse as his own was met. I was, however, suddenly aware of my name being desperately muttered, and smiled in satisfaction.
“Spencer, I love you.” I murmured. Spencer kissed my lips.
“I love you too, Sparkles.” he said tiredly as he lay next to me in order to cuddle. “I love you so much.”
---
I would like to say that I was healed emotionally after that one lovemaking session with Reid but then I’d be lying. It took months for me to heal and I was grateful for Spencer’s steady and loving presence through it all.
Tonight, we were watching Doctor Who. Feeling bold, I let my fingertips caress the growing bulge in Spencer's boxers. “If I have to pause this episode, you won’t be able to walk for the next week.” Spencer murmured.
“You’re really bad at hiding how turned on you are.” I teased, loving how responsive he was as his bulge grew bigger under the gentle coaxing of my fingertips.
“Don’t start what you can’t finish.” Spencer said. Amused, I turned off the episode. “Hey!” Spencer exclaimed in protest.
“You’re so much fun to touch.” I purred, kissing Spencer. He smirked.
“I can’t wait to taste you.” Spencer whispered.
“Like what you see?” I said as I unbuttoned my shirt to reveal the sapphire colored bra I’d bought last week. He gulped.
“Very much so.” he murmured as he easily unhooked my bra with one hand. “You’re so perfect. And I’m so lucky.” he murmured as he nuzzled my breasts. I moaned as I felt his mouth envelop my nipple and work it into a tight peak. “Your breasts are so beautiful.” he said before switching nipples. “And so sensitive...”
“Spence…” I whined.
“Shhh.” he shushed me. He moved lower, trailing kiss after kiss across my stomach, and then bent his head to my mound, pulling my legs up to rest on his shoulders. His fingers and tongue caressed me.
"I have some new positions for us to try." I raise an eyebrow at him. "Lay down on your stomach." I did as he asked and he slid a couple of pillows underneath my pelvis, then slipped into me. "Close your legs a bit." He instructed me, which I did.
He found that spot within me, easily rubbing against it with each thrust of his hips crashing against my pelvis.
Suddenly he stilled. Still recovering from my climax, I could feel his throbbing length pulse as his own was met. "Spence?"
"Hm?" He sounded tired.
"That felt really good." I said quietly. "Again?"
"No, sleep, then later." He murmured, climbing into bed beside me. "Love you, Sparkles."
"I love you too." I replied as I snuggled into him.
---
(13 weeks since their first session)
I was mad. I couldn't get my pants up past my belly button, so I snagged one of Spencer's sweatpants in order to go see my doctor.
“Ms. Chambers, I have some good news.” the doctor announced after tests had been taken. “Congratulations, you're pregnant!” I blinked. I was stunned. Spencer and I hadn't discussed children yet.
And there was the matter of my father...

For the prompts: Beauyasha or Lavorregard angst with a dialogue prompt of "I-I don't understand, I thought you weren't going to do this again."
Hope this suffices! title from an atticus poem
drink it anyways
The tavern was seedy as all fuck. Yasha didn’t even want to go in. It was the sort of place that made her skin crawl. It was where Jester said Beau had run off too hours earlier. She couldn’t look Yasha in the eye when she said it, which made Yasha’s stomach twist. It wasn’t hard to understand why.
Yasha moved around the ring in the middle, eyes scanning the room. She let out a little annoyed sigh, seeing the slumped figure in blue in the corner.
Yasha got a glass of water and rag from the bar. She walked over, and put her arm around Beau’s waist to help her stand, and walk her outside. Beau startled, then looked over. She closed her eyes, head shaking, muttering something about Fjord.
“Fjord is at the inn.” she said, leading her through the cold night air. She pulled her along a few blocks, wanting to be away from the noise and the smell of the bar. She stopped between two street lamps, at the mouth of an alleyway. She leaned Beau against a wall, helping her sit on one of the dryer patches that had been left after the storm that had blown through.
Yasha dipped the cloth in the water, then reached to tilt Beau’s head back. She wiped blood away, trying to see if the injuries were bad enough to need healing. She caught Beau’s gaze, blue eyes boring into her.
“You’re back.” Beau’s voice was soft, reverent.
Yasha’s eyes lifted from the task at hand to meet Beau’s gaze. “And you,” she said, something sad sparking in her eyes. “Are a drunk idiot.”
Yasha dipped the rag back into the water, and rung it out, trying not to be affected by the amount of blood that came off it. She surveyed her work, happy Beau’s face was less blood and sweat covered, even if it was still bashed. Yasha was again trapped in Beau’s gaze when Beau lifted a hand and brushed it against her cheek.
“You’re really back?” Beau asked, voice tinged with sadness and fear.
Yasha stared at her, wanting to ask, needing to know, how many times the alcohol and the reckless fighting, and Beau’s own hope had convinced her that Yasha had returned before. Yasha lifted a hand to lay over Beau’s showing her she was solid, she was real. Her thumb traced the broken skin, causing a sharp hiss of air between Beau’s lips.
“I am really here.” she promised. She pulled Bau’s hand away, and started to treat the wounds there.
“You’re sure?” Beau asked. Yasha looked up, seeing the pain in those beautiful blue eyes, eyes that haunted her.
Yasha looked back down, then closed her eyes, focusing on the small well of magic energy deep within her. She let it flow through her, and lifted Beau’s hand to her lips, pouring healing magic into Beau. “I’m sure.” She said.
Beau shook her head. “Yasha don’t waste healing…”
“Hush, Beauregard.” Yasha’s voice was rough, head shaking. Now, with the wounds mostly healed, she could focus on getting Beau cleaned up. “Caring for you is not a waste. Though it is often infuriating.”
Beau let out a little huff, looking past Yasha, to some point far off. Maybe the stars, maybe the lights of the city. “Yeah, well the feeling is mutual.”
Yasha swallowed around a lump in her throat. “We are not doing this right now, Beau.”
“Course not.” she said, tilting her head back against the brick.
“I am not doing this when you’re drunk.” She said, fixing Beau with a stern look.
“You aren’t going to do this anyway.” she accused, chin lifting defiantly.
Yasha starred at her a moment, getting angry. “Fine, you want to know what I have to say?” she asked, dropping Beau’s hand. “I don’t understand, Beauregard. I thought you weren’t going to so this again.” She said, gesturing to the whole of Beau. “You said you weren’t going to go looking for stupid fights anymore. You promised me I wouldn’t find you drunk and beaten again.”
“Yeah, and you said you’d still be there in the morning.” Beau retorted, shoving herself a little more upright. “You promised me, and I woke to an empty bed.”
“Beau it’s more complicated-”
“Is it? Because it doesn’t feel like it. Let’s run through it. You almost die. I almost had to watch you go, just like Molly. Then when you were okay, when we were safe back at the inn, you kissed me. You kissed me. And then we…” Beau trailed off and shook her head, but it didn’t matter. the memories came to Yasha regardless.
Memories of hot skin pressed together, pulling and twisting together like they were trying to become one. Memories of teeth tugging at kiss swollen lips, at skin, leaving undeniable marks on the dark skin, trying to unarguable claim Beau as hers. Memories of fingers trying to find the right purchase on hot slick skin, desperate to find that ecstasy she’d been so long lacking. And memories of how eager Beau was to return the actions, how good she was at it.
Yasha shook her head, shook the thoughts away as Beau found her voice. “You laid in bed with me and promised as I fell asleep that you would be there when I woke up.” Beau took a breath, her voice taking on an accusatory tone when she spoke again. “and then you were gone.”
Yasha shook her head. “I do not…” her voice caught on the lie. “ I do not control the call of the Stormlord.”
Beau stared at her a moment, then let out a humorless laugh, turning her gaze past her. “It didn’t rain that night, Yash.”
Yasha bit her lip, and returned to wiping blood off her.
They went silent then, the pain between a physical thing. Yasha stood, and moved to help Beau up, an arm around her waist. Beau let her help. She was stubborn, but not stupid, normally. Yasha lead her back through the city, stopping to step out of the way of a few people here and there. The, without warning, Beau stopped, eyes lifted to the heavens.
“You could just have stayed. Said it was a mistake. I’m not against one night stands.” She said, before taking a ragged breath. “I wouldn’t have mentioned it.”
Yasha moved to look her more directly in the eye, “Beau, you aren’t a mistake. It’s… It’s so much more complicated.”
Beau let out a little breath. “If you say so, Yash.” Beau closed her eyes, tilting her eyes back down, and pushed on. But Yasha couldn’t let her. She couldn’t stand herself if she let Beau believe that.
“I was scared, Beauregard. I was… I couldn’t let that be a one night thing. I could never have a one night thing with you. And it terrified me. Because I am not supposed to want that.”
Beau swallowed. “Yeah, I know.”
“But I did.” she implored. “I wanted you. I want you.” She lifted a hand to her face, clutching her like a long lost love. “And that terrified me. It still does. So I had to go. I had to go… figure out if she, if Zuala would ever forgive me for loving you. I had to go chase a storm down.” She swallowed, meeting Beau’s nervous gaze. “I ran because I love you, Beauregard. With all of what I am.”
Beau swallowed, a hand lifting to Yasha’s shoulder. “Yeah?” she asked.
“Yeah.” Yasha parroted. “I stood in the eye of the storm, and I heard I her voice. She told me… She told me that if I didn’t love you, love you the way I didn’t get to love her, then I was a fool. And, quite frankly, I agree.”
Beau let out a little laugh, and ducked forward, kissing Yasha on the lips. There was a little taste of rust, whatever Beau had been drinking, and something like the tang in the air after a storm. Tasted like magic.
Yasha wasn’t sure of much, but she knew for certain where she’d be in the morning; wherever Beauregard was.

Spread the Love: Beautiful-BAU-Beau
As part of my 3,000 follower celebration, I decided to go with something called SPREAD THE LOVE, where I highlight a fellow CM writer, gush about how much I love them, maybe say my favorite work by them, and if they have one, highlight a masterlist for all of you lovelies to see! I also just have to add that if I finish this up, and you haven’t been featured, it is ONLY because I haven’t seen your lovely work.
P.S. These are in no particular order. I love you all equally lol <3
Next in line is another writer who inspired me to start my own writing up again, @beautiful-bau-beau! Hi Olivia!
Gods, her masterlist is awesome! All Spencer! It’s got one-shots, mini-series, full fics, such as The Proposal and Tale As Old As Time (which is currently being written), and even a Christmas series of one-shots called the 12 Days of Spencer, so there are 12 days of Holiday Spencer fluff, what could actually be better? I’ll wait for an answer…
In the meantime, not only is she an amazing writer, but she’s also super sweet and adorable. If you aren’t reading her work or following her in general, you are missing the fuck out, so head on over there and read all of the gloriousness, which can be found HERE!
Stay tuned for the next highlighted writer!
