guys do you also feel more dumb for being otimistic than your pessimistic friends or is this a me thing
#for context some things have been happening and i said in a gc that i was afraid the family trip would be mid at best#and then a friend said family trips are always worse than what we think#and i said well my last family trip wasn't bad so i know it isn't a rule but that means it being bad also isn't a rule#and i've been thinking about this since then#bc i think we're conditioned to feel dumb when we try to be otimistic? like a lot of tv shows makes the otimistic character#unbelievable annoying and then the “realistic/pessimistic” character has to put then in their place#and considering the state of things rn that's how i feel. that being otimistic is dumb#and idk i'm just generally sad and my period is approaching and i just want everyone to enjoy this trip :((#i'm actually crying now writing this
