#bc a lot of nerdy stuff does actually involve random weaponry

i have dark hair which i have often cut short and big black-framed glasses so over the years it hasnt been uncommon for randos to shout "harry potter!" at me in the street. ESPECIALLY when i was in my cloak phase bc well duh. anyway one time id been to a viking market w some friends during my cloak phase and i bought this really cool.. well i don't know anything about weapons i still don't know if shes a very long dagger or a very short sword. but something like that. and then we had to get the bus back into the city centre and walk to my flat. and i obviously didnt want to carry the sword or whatever in my hand because that's weird and will probably get you arrested. so i hooked it into my belt, where it was naturally concealed under my cloak. u can probably see where this is going. anyway some guys are walking nearby and drifting towards us in such a way with quiet chatter and giggles that we gather they r probably making fun of us. and as they are a little behind us this one guy darts ahead from his two buddies and comes up behind me and tries to startle me by shouting "harry potter!" at me. and he got SO close up behind me he got like RIGHT up behind me. so like before the words have even finished leaving his mouth i whip round and pull this sword or dagger or whatever from under my cloak and hold it right up to his face/neck AND IT WAS SHEATHED I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH THIS WAS NOT AN ACTUAL NAKED SHARP DANGEROUS WEAPON BEING HELD UP TO A MAN IT WAS SECURELY SHEATHED IT WAS THE WHOLE TIME I DID NOT REMOVE IT FROM THE SHEATH I PULLED IT OUT STILL ABSOLUTELY WITHIN THE SHEATH WHICH WAS MADE OF PLASTIC IT WAS BASICALLY JUST HOLDING UP A PIECE OF PLASTIC IN THE SHAPE OF A SWORD THE BLADE WAS NEVER EXPOSED AT ALL ! but the sheath was silvery and shiny and it all happened very fast so of course he just simply jumped out of his fucking skin. and was like doubled over almost having a panic attack fighting for breath while his friends laughed at him. because for a little half a second there i think that man really truly thought he was going to die. anyway thanks for coming to storytime with hal thats one of the funnest things i ever did
