bc all i think abt is college!katsuki
Tumblr media
Katsuki Bakugou is the epitome of the type of friend where you don’t actually know if you are friends.
It started off slow and gradual; a head nod when you sat next to him in class for the first time. You didn’t think much of it at first—just Bakugou being Bakugou, cold and distant as can be. But then came the day the professor prompted the class to discuss the reading with the person next to you. Oh boy.
Distant caves would be jealous of him as he offered impressive silence. He sat there with his arms crossed, glaring at the textbook like it had personally offended him. You tried your best to speak about the text, feeling the weight of his weightless replies, and occasionally he’d grunt or nod, but the conversation resembled your middle school talent show performance. Awkward, yes, but not surprising for a college class.
Still, you found yourself sitting next to him every couple of days, the unspoken rules of college and assigned seating habits pulling you back into his orbit. You tried to be kind, offering small talk here and there, but Bakugou always brushed you off with a grunt or a glare. He was prickly, always on edge, and you figured that was just how he was.
You were like this too on most days. After having your fair share of college-creep experiences you laid off the whole talking to people bit. But there was this exception you made for Bakugou. Not an exception but a curiosity of some sorts. Hell, you also were never good at math but you were on edge to solve the missing variable that is Katsuki Bakugou. Seriously, what's his deal?
Maybe it was the way he didn’t care of how he seemed, it could be the mystery or maybe it was just the fact he looked like he was carved by Lysippos sitting by you at 9 a.m. lecture. Those thoughts were in the back of your mind… you even wonder if Bakugo is good at math? maybe then he could help.
But then there were these odd moments, moments where his usual gruffness gave way to something else. Like the day you mentioned how thirsty you were, sitting there in that old, sweltering classroom with no air conditioning. Bakugou rolled his eyes, muttered something about “are you always unprepared?” (he lent you a pen once before) but then wordlessly reached into his bag and handed you a water bottle.
“Thanks,” you say, trying to match his nonchalant demeanor. Trying to let it go.
But the gesture stuck with you. He didn’t acknowledge it, didn’t say anything more. He just went back to his notebook like nothing happened. Typical. But you couldn’t shake the feeling of slight butterflies in your stomach, even if you tried to brush them off as nothing.
Things continued in much the same way. Bakugou, still gruff and abrasive, but every now and then, something would slip through the cracks. A quiet moment of consideration, a begrudging act of kindness. He never let you get too close, but there was always that flicker of kindness. Of Bakugou. The real him, you think.
It was a rainy afternoon when you found yourself stranded at a bus stop with him. The two of you had just finished class, and the rain came out of nowhere, pouring down in quick splatters. You both stood under the narrow shelter that barely helped. Bakugou was glaring up like he was challenging the sky to a duel while his hands shoved deep into his pockets.
He didn’t acknowledge you at first. And you didn’t think he would.
“You’re gonna catch a cold standing out here,” he grumbled suddenly, his voice low and annoyed.
Before you could reply, he was already shrugging off his jacket and, without looking at you, shoved it in front of you. He urged you to take it but you blinked in surprise, not knowing how to react.
But then, you felt the weight of the jacket warm and heavy on your skin. The scent of him—something sharp and clean—lingered in the fabric.
“Bakugou, you don’t have to—”
“Shut up. I don’t need your thanks,” he muttered, not meeting your gaze. He chose to stare at the rain instead.
“Thank you.”
He rolled his eyes but from that moment, something shifted. The dynamic between you two wasn’t any less tense, and he still barked at you when you got on his nerves, but the hostility had softened, just a little. There was still sharpness in his words, but now mixed in with these brief, unexpected moments of kindness? (for Bakugou, normal for everyone else)
The day before your big exam, you sat next to him in class, anxiety buzzing in your stomach. “Are you ready for tomorrow?” you asked, peeking over at him.
“Yeah,” he grunted, eyes not leaving his textbook.
You turned back to your seat, mentally patting yourself on the back for initiating (yet another) pointless conversation. But then, after a pause, Bakugou spoke again.
“Wanna review the material after class?”
You blinked, a little caught off guard, but quickly nodded. “Sure.”
And so after class, he led the way to the library, not even waiting for you to catch up. He moved with purpose, his sharp eyes scanning the room for a quiet, secluded spot. When he finally sat down and pulled out his notes, you were surprised to see how meticulously organized everything was—color-coded, labeled, every detail in its place. So he probably is good at math? You were definitely getting somewhere.
He started drilling you with questions, breaking down complicated concepts with a precision you hadn’t expected. His intensity was relentless, but it pushed you to focus, to work harder, and slowly, your understanding of the material started to click into place.
Hours passed in a blur, and the sun began to set outside the windows. The two of you were still going over definitions when Bakugou glanced over at you. “You get it now?”
“Yeah,” you said, a small smile on your lips. “Thanks, Bakugou.”
“Good,” he muttered, turning back to his notes, but something about the way he said it felt less harsh than usual.
But all this time of him testing you made you want to test him. Probably because you suspected how sexy he’d look getting every question right…
You smirked, feeling a little bold. “Aw, not you caring if I understand the material.”
He shot you a glare and his face twitched like he was holding back a grin. “I don’t,” he snapped, though his tone lacked the usual bite.
“You just looked so damn scared earlier, it was pathetic.”
You faked a small gasp at that. He wanted to laugh.
“Aww, are you worried about me being sad?” you teased, leaning in a little closer. “It’s almost like we’re friends or something.”
“Shut up,” he growled, his face turning slightly red.
That’s not a no, you think. You laughed, the sound light in the quiet library, and for the first time, you saw a hint of a smile tug at the corner of his mouth, barely there, but real.
Quaint and underneath all his surroundings lied Bakugou Katsuki. Almost as if he were labeled X in some math problem.
So yeah… he’s cold and mean and gruff, but… you know he has your back with exams… and when you’re cold, and when you say you're thirsty, and when you need something nice to look at. Definitely, Katsuki Bakugou is your friend…
That happens to have a massive crush on you.
(… and unashamedly, so do you.)

you and me, both
Tumblr media
synopsis. mina and kirishima invite you to a night out. ‘it won’t be like last time!’ they said. you begrudgingly go. (part 1)
cw. gn!reader, gradstudent!reader, prohero!katsuki, aged-up (~23 yrs old), mina ashido x kirishima eijirou, fluff
word count. 1.9k words
Tumblr media
You check your watch for the umpteenth time, which now reads 6:29 PM. It hasn’t even been a minute since you last checked it, yet it feels like you’ve been waiting here for hours.
The ramen shop you’re waiting in front of and agreed to hang out at is slowly getting packed with people, tired businessmen and students alike eager to eat the day’s worries away and head home full and satisfied.
Rocking yourself on your feet, you chance another peek at your watch. You stare at it as the minute hand finally strikes the number 12. With a heavy sigh, you look up to find Bakugou walking towards you, hands in his pockets, just in time.
Of all things, the last thing you need him to be is punctual.
You stare at each other in awkward silence before warily exchanging hello’s.
Before Bakugou could even bring up the elephant in the room, you quickly explain, “I think everyone else is just running late.”
He nods silently, and in three strides, arrives at the spot to your left, all the while sparing a respectable distance between the two of you.
Clearing your throat, you look around at everything else but him. The ramen shop you chose as a group called Kikanbo is known for its signature ‘devil’ ramen—devil because of its (allegedly, hot and numbing) spiciness.
You were initially against it, not wanting to make a fool of yourself in front of Mina and Kirishima’s Pro Hero friends, but ultimately decided to go with the flow. The last thing you needed was for them to tease you about being self-conscious around Bakugou. Which you aren’t.
Suddenly, it dawns on you how suspiciously couple-looking you’re coming off right now. Giving Bakugou a quick once-over, he’s dressed in black joggers and a grey crewneck sweater, insulated by a thick, long coat. You internally sigh in relief at the sight of his baseball cap, which should shield his identity from prying eyes.
Though, you doubt his bulging muscles and piercing crimson eyes do much in terms of keeping a low profile.
While looking him up and down, he catches your eye. Embarrassed, you blurt out: “I’m gonna call Mina.”
Desperate to get away from his immediate radius, you don’t even wait for his acknowledgment before stepping away into a quiet corner. The phone rings three times before you’re greeted with a chirpy (too chirpy, if you were to be honest right now), sing-song voice.
“Hi, Y/N! What’s up?”
Twelve years of friendship and you still can’t believe this girl, “Mina? Where the fuck are you?! And everyone else?”
She has the nerve to guffaw, “Like I said, it won’t be like last time anymore! Tonight, it’s only gonna be you and—drum roll, please,” in the background, you hear someone—Kirishima, probably—imitating a drum, “Bakugou!”
Fuck. You can’t help but whimper, “You have to be kidding me.”
“Sorry, Y/N. We figured this is the only way we can get you guys to spend time together outside of just texting. By the way, you guys sure are going at a snail’s pace, huh?”
You can feel the blood rush to your face, “What? How’d you even—”
“Bye, bestie!” she cuts you off, “Have fun!”
“Be safe, bro!” Kirishima adds before she hangs up, leaving you slack-jawed and your heart going at 150 beats per minute.
When you turn back, you see Bakugou leaning with his back against the wall, a smirk decorating his features. What’s he all fucking smug about?
You reluctantly walk towards him, waving your phone for emphasis, “Did you know about this?”
“No,” the smirk has now been replaced with a subdued scowl, “but I put two and two together on the way here.”
And just like that, he drops the conversation. He simply makes his way to the entrance and you follow suit, forced to deal with all the implications by yourself.
Tumblr media
Just like the dinner from two weeks ago, it turns out that hanging out with Bakugou isn’t so bad after all.
After ruefully accepting the fact that you both got absolutely betrayed and stood up by your best friends, you entered the ramen shop and got seated on the stools facing the chefs. You ended up going for the regular level spices, or futsu futsu, while Bakugou went all in and ordered the devil ramen or oni mashi.
He barked a laugh at how your eyes bugged out the moment you saw how red his broth is. Instead of challenging you to a spice-off, though, he simply offered you the first sip (which stunned you—you didn’t expect him to make such a courteous gesture). Grateful, you took his offer.
You shouldn’t have, though.
You ended up choking so hard, alarming everyone in the restaurant, and Bakugou had to keep in his snort (that was surely gonna be loud and attract even more attention) in favor of getting you some milk to wash it off.
Once you recovered, you went on to eat your dinner, talking about the kinds of things you’ve conversed about over daily texts. Real-life conversation with Bakugou, to your pleasant surprise, is easy and free-flowing.
Contrary to how he’s depicted in media and your first impression of him from that run-in in the middle of your commute home from university, Bakugou is thoughtful and considerate. Sometimes brash, yes, but never mean.
He also seems to be genuinely interested in what you have to say, mindful of shifting the conversation from revolving around his hero work to asking about how’s post-grad these days, or if there’s anything eventful that happened in Manual’s agency earlier, seeing as how’s today’s a Saturday, the day on which you work part-time as admin staff.
You couldn’t school the surprised expression on your face fast enough at his remembering, and a small, somewhat self-satisfied smile took over his lips at your reaction. You probably, maybe, could’ve died a happy person then and there, but you kept yourself in check.
Soon after the bowls were clean of delicious ramen and bills were paid, you then headed out and decided to walk in the cool night breeze, with Bakugou taking the lead.
Which is how you wound up here, in a somewhat populated park that you’ve never heard of, sitting on the bench overlooking the view and in comfortable silence.
“So,” you start, admiring the scenery (first; second, avoiding eye contact), “do you usually go here?”
He grunts in response, “Yeah. Though I usually stroll around alone, instead of…” he gestures awkwardly toward your direction.
You struggle to contain your chuckle. How can he be so domineering in the field yet so bunglesome when talking to you? It’s endearing, to say the least.
“But you have brought some over here, have you?” you look around again, inspecting the greenery, the stone infrastructure, the lights. “This place is so beautiful.”
“I have,” he starts, “I think I’ve jogged with Dunce-face and Bug Eyes here once.”
You snort at the nicknames he calls his friends, “Dunce-face? Are you referring to Kaminari when he—”
He smirks, “Yep.”
You can’t help but laugh out loud, and he joins in with a snicker.
“But wait,” you look at him, “I meant have you brought over a girl over here before?”
You mentally slap yourself for uttering the question before thinking it through, undertones and all. Bakugou’s eyes widen a bit, but his face remains controlled. If he’s masking his knee-jerk reaction, you’re thankful for it.
“I mean,” you peer amongst the people who are enjoying the night air with you, “Most of the people here are in pairs—couples, because of how romantic the place is at night, with all the light fixtures and all.” You shrug, “I’m sure any girl would appreciate being brought here.”
You sure as hell are hoping you’re coming off more as the ‘helpful-friend-giving-some-well-meaning-advice’ than the ‘jealous-bitch-who’s-crazy-over-past-girls’.
He huffs, and you’re starting to think you’ve overstepped his boundaries when he cuts off your train of thought. Hell—railroads you and leaves your mind embarrassingly blank.
“Actually, this is the first time I’ve ever been on a date. At least,” he snorts, “the one-on-one kind.”
Suddenly, a million questions start racing through your mind.
He’s considering this a date? Did he consider the fiasco from last time a double date? This is his first? What?! How?! Why did he bring you here, anyway? Does he think of you in that way…? How can he be so bashful yet so straightforward at the same time? How the fuck is he so cute?
All these very important (some outright silly) questions, but the one you pipe up with is: “But back then—you agreed when I said you had a lot of experience—how?”
“I grunted, dumbass. There’s a difference. I wasn’t about to tell ya how inexperienced I was in this sort of thing when you were hyping me up like no other.”
“Huh.”
He side-eyes you, “From the looks of it, I’d say you’re the one who’s had far more experience.”
You’re too embarrassed to admit the truth, and too dizzy from the implications of his statements, but you figured you owed him at least your honesty. Looking down at your clasped hands, you mumble under your breath, “This is actually my first time, too.”
Silence falls upon the two of you, and unlike earlier, it’s filled with budding anticipation rather than comfort. You finally will yourself to look up, only to see him red. Red all over—neck, ears, and face.
Redder than when he slurped down that monstrous broth from earlier.
Then it hits you.
What Mina said was…real.
She sure as hell omits some truths, concerningly more often than not, but she never lies to you.
You can’t help but let out a soft laugh, and he turns away at the sound, perhaps in embarrassment.
You smile, “For the record, I’m glad you’re my first.”
At that, he abruptly stands up, and for a second you’re thinking you ruined the moment by saying that, but you don’t get to wish for the ground to swallow you up whole because Bakugou looks back at you with a fierce determination in his eyes that makes your mind go hazy.
“Come on,” he holds out his hand, “I wanna make sure this is the best fucking first date you’re ever gonna have.”
Tumblr media
Bonus:
(as he’s walking you home from the park)
“Wait, so am I the first person you’ve been texting, too?”
“Yes. Now quit yapping about this ‘first’ shit or I’ll make you.”
You laugh good-naturedly, “But you’re so good at it! The pacing, the withholding of information to keep them wanting more—I was convinced you’ve done this with a million other people.”
He sighs in what you think is fake exasperation, as his cheeks are tinted with a faint red, “For the billionth time, you’re my first. And,” he looks away, “I had Shitty-hair help me out a bit.”
Normally, you’d extinguish any and all species of butterflies in your stomach brought to existence by a boy because you can’t afford to get distracted right now.
But, today isn’t normal.
You, instead, let the grin that’s been fighting to take over your face the entire evening finally win over. You can’t help it—hearing that from anyone—especially Bakugou, makes you happy.
You continue walking in comfortable silence until he’s the one to break it.
“So,” he starts and you don’t even have to look at him to know there’s a smirk adorning his goddamn handsome face, “all sorts of company, huh?”
“Shut up.”

you’re a part time lover & and full time friend.
-
- hated anything having to do with general studies students moving to the hero course, especially that mind control “freak” (in his own words) but you were the exception because according to him you fought for your spot during the sports’ festival when you had to go up against bakugou himself.
- would often talk to you on your way to class in the morning after he’d found out that you and him both had a few common interests. but don’t get me wrong, he’d never start the conversation. he’d walk next to you huffing and puffing until you acknowledged him.
- found himself sending you tiktoks that he thought you’d like, like a new katsudon spot, different tofu recipes. but he’d always just add a comment saying “since you mentioned this stupid shit the other day.”
- he didn’t think he’d ever see the inside of your dorm room, but you’d invited him in to gossip about the blooming relationship between hatsume and iida. and although he’d just scoff and roll his eyes, he listened to every single word you’d said.
- would learn new information about kirishima and ashido and would instantly text you asking you to come over or asking if he could come over because he just had to say it in person.
- has once found you asleep in his own dorm room after training because you claimed his mattress was comfier.
- refuses to let the rest of the class know that you’re friends. but obviously you told the girls and he told kirishima. also would occasionally invite you out to eat with him and kirishima.
- one time you asked him to tutor you and he just shut the door in your face because you were already number 3 in the class academically and he refused to fall behind you more than he already was.
“can you tutor me, ‘suki? i wanna get ahead of iida. i can’t take anymore of his remarks. he doesn’t even know how condescending they are!”
“what rank are ya?”
“3.”
“get out of my face.” and with that, the door closed. leaving you to study alone.
- he eventually joined you in the library, muttering about how he won’t tutor you but at least you didn’t have to study alone.
- eventually you two ended up having the same dynamic as monoma and kendo, you’d frequently apologized to your classmates for your friend’s crude behavior.
- swore that he couldn’t stand you but would frequently seek you out anytime a class assignment required partners because “he didn’t trust anybody with his grade but you were a safe gamble.”
- when you’d both debuted as pro heroes, he called you spouting out curses, (that you knew he didn’t mean), because your approval rating happened to be higher than his.
- when he eventually did ask you out, he’d made you tonkotsu ramen, a meal that you told him you liked only once. back in first year.
- that’s when you knew you wanted to marry him, it may have only been the first date, but he’d listened to every word you’d ever said.
- when you got married, you’d kept it on the low. girls would go up to him asking for his number and he’d say “my wife wouldn’t like that.”
- LOVES theme park rides, was even more ecstatic when he found out you loved them too. he screams like a baby on the roller coasters, but you scream too.
- would definitely gossip about people he saw while working, and your kids even say that you two are so friend like that they don’t believe you’re actually married.

Final Exams Arc
Okay, let's get into this.
Izuku Midoriya & Katsuki Bakugou vs All Might:
I know, I know. Just hear me out, okay?
I was absolutely going to change this matchup (@nutzgunray-lvt had brought up Momo and Izuku vs Midnight and I really loved that idea). But I did say before that some of Aizawa's worst tendencies would still be around. He thinks Izuku and Bakugou's relationship is because of both of them not being able to cooperate. This is the opportunity to teach him a well-deserved lesson.
So, I would say most things go the same. Bakugou is being a bitch uncooperative and making things harder. But once Bakugou punches him, Izuku starts to contemplate a lot.
Logically, he knows that while All Might is focused on Bakugou, he could escape. Bakugou wouldn't let All Might ignore him and he could use the cover of the smoke from the debris and Bakugou's gauntlets.
But it feels so... unheroic. He isn't supposed to run and leave his teammate behind. A true hero would stand and fight, even while facing certain death. He's not sure he could abandon his ally, it feels cowardly. Especially because Bakugou could be seriously hurt as All Might wasn't going easy on them.
Part of him argues that Bakugou wouldn't care if he was the one being beat to a pulp.
Ironically, it's Yaoyorozu who comes to mind. Izuku knows the two of them are very different, but he really does admire her rationality and planning. She would make the argument that coming back with reinforcements isn't leaving a teammate behind, it's presenting an opportunity to save them.
Izuku doesn't think he would actually be able to do this in a real situation. He wants to save people, he wants to make people smile. Has he ever made Bakugou smile?
But this isn't a real situation, is it? Maybe just this once, he didn't have to intervene.
Izuku turns around and runs for the exit, successfully escaping while Bakugou is fighting All Might alone like an idiot.
He tries to ignore the guilt he feels at what he's done and wonders if All Might is disappointed in him.
Momo Yaoyorozu & Shoto Todoroki vs Eraserhead
Honestly, as far as this fight goes, it's one of my favorites of this arc. I feel like the characterization for both of them is pretty good. They both play off one another really well.
However, the way I've had it set up, Yaoyorozu had been learning to think on her feet. So, obviously, I have to continue with that.
Unintentionally, Todoroki tries to brush Yaoyorozu aside because he thinks he can handle it without causing her harm. He admires her intelligence and proficiency with her quirk, but thinks that he could probably mange to apprehend Aizawa on his own.
Yaoyorozu vehemently protests. She acknowledges that she has hesitated before, but that this was different than the Sports Festival. She knows that she can do better if he gives her the chance.
Todoroki is taken back by this and doesn't notice Aizawa suspended from the rafters. But Yaoyorozu does out of the corner of her eye. She moves him out of the way and creates a pipe that Aizawa's capture scarf wraps around.
She can't hesitate here, she needs to act quickly. She releases the pipe and the force drives it towards Aizawa. He dodges it easily, but he was momentarily distracted which gave Yaoyorozu and Todoroki time to hide and regroup.
Once they're out of his sight, Todoroki apologizes. He tells her that he wasn't trying to make her feel inadequate, he just wasn't used to relying on others. He tells her that he thinks that she's very capable and has a high opinion of her, which was why he voted for her for class representative. He tells her he'd ready to listen to whatever plan she has.
Yaoyorozu is genuinely touched and accepts his apology. She admits that she understands how it's hard to connect and work with others and has trouble with coming off as unfriendly and unapproachable and tends to overthink too much. She actually talks about Izuku and Uraraka and how she's somewhat jealous of them because they're able to act without thinking.
So the two of them make a plan.
Yaoyorozu "ambushes" Aizawa with a smoke bomb. This doesn't work because his goggles allow him to see heat signatures (my own addition, I feel like it makes sense). She attacks him with a staff she made. She knows that she's outclassed, but manages to defend against his blows. She isn't thinking, she's fighting on instinct and she's actually managing to hold her own.
But Aizawa is more skilled and experienced. He knocks her down and captures her with his scarf. But suddenly he can't move. He looks down and sees that his feet are frozen to the ground. He turns around to attempt to find Todoroki and negate his quirk when a handcuff is clasped around his wrist.
It had been a diversion.
Yaoyorozu managed to free herself by cutting through his scarf with a dagger and cuffed him when he was focused on finding Todoroki.
(Yaoyorozu leans balance between planning and taking action while Todoroki learns how to rely on others and seem them as equals. Yay character development)
Ochako Uraraka & Yuga Aoyama vs Thirteen:
I'm keeping this mostly the same, but without Aoyama's teasing. But instead of Uraraka being embarrassed and letting go, she asks Aoyama to use his laser to momentarily blind Thirteen the minute she lets go. He does so, and Uraraka allows herself to be sucked in and propelled at Thirteen, where she takes them (referring to Thirteen neutrally because her gender hasn't been revealed at this point) down and cuffs them while they can't see.
I think I'll be keeping every other match the same. EXCEPT for Mineta and Sero versus Midnight, Sero doesn't take the fall for Mineta and Mineta falls victim to his own weakness. It's Sero who saves him and carries him to the exit.
(I changed this because I'm going to give Mineta a little bit of growth and reflection. Having him lose here means that his perversion isn't only gross, it's hindering his work as a hero and he needs to do better)
After the exam, Aizawa commends Izuku (in private) for thinking logically for once, but questions why he would leave his teammate behind because it seems unlike him. Izuku confesses that he tried to plan and work with Bakugou, but he simply wasn't listening. He figured he could save both their grades if he successfully escaped.
He feels guilty even as he says this. How can he call himself a hero if he left his teammate to suffer at the hands of a villain?
Even if it was Bakugou.
Aizawa thinks about what he's being told for a long time. He knows that Bakugou has been violent with Izuku. He had assumed that they were rivals who couldn't get along, which was why he had paired them together. He had noticed that All Might looked like he wanted to protest this arrangement, but hadn't.
All this time, he had thought Izuku was part of the problem. But there was a bruise on the kid's cheek even though he hadn't sustained any injuries from All Might. It didn't take a genius to figure out what had happened.
And suddenly he feels guilty for not nipping this in the bud sooner.
Aizawa tells Izuku not to worry about it and that he had done the right thing. Then, he goes to confront All Might. He asks All Might what the real nature of Izuku and Bakugou's relationship is. All Might doesn't want to tell Aizawa for three reasons: a) it was Izuku's business not his, b) he didn't want Aizawa to accuse him of favoritism again and give Izuku and even harder time, and c) he didn't have the full truth himself, just speculation.
(I initially wrote this to be an argument, but I feel like All Might probably wouldn't argue with Aizawa. Plus, he feels guilty about not addressing this sooner)
Aizawa feels like an asshole (he is), but decides that he's going to try to do better by Izuku and all of his students.
RESULTS:
Yuga Aoyama: PASS
Mina Ashido: FAIL
Tsuyu Asui: PASS
Tenya Iida: PASS
Ochako Uraraka: PASS
Mashirao Ojiro: PASS
Denki Kaminari: FAIL
Eijiro Kirishima: FAIL
Koji Koda: PASS
Rikido Sato: FAIL
Mezo Shoji: PASS
Kyoka Jirou: PASS
Hanta Sero: PASS
Fumikage Tokoyami: PASS
Shoto Todoroki: PASS
Toru Hagakure: PASS
Katsuki Bakugou: FAIL
Izuku Midoriya: PASS
Minrou Mineta: FAIL
Momo Yaoyorozu: PASS
Bakugou is pissed when the results are announced. He rages, demanding to know why worthless Deku passed and he didn't. Izuku is also shocked (and guilty, because he had assumed escaping would secure both their grades. He wouldn't have done it if he had known Kacchan would fail too!). But Aizawa silences Bakugou with a nasty glare.
He reprimands Bakugou, telling him he had warned him about acting irresponsibly. Not only had he refused to cooperate and put himself in unnecessary danger, but he had assaulted his teammate. Aizawa bluntly tells him that a strong quirk isn't everything and that he can't act however he wants and still get his way in life. Reality would force him to face more severe consequences unless he gets his act together.
(Despite this, Izuku still feels like he should have failed too. He had abandoned his teammate, wasn't that the opposite of being heroic?)
Aizawa announces that everyone will be going to the training camps (there was no logical ruse because that shit is dumb and canon Aizawa doesn't know any other ways to teach).
While gathering allies to form the League of Villains, Tomura is introduced to two candidates: Himiko Toga and someone who introduces himself as Dabi. They both sought the League out because of Stain.
(Also, I just confirmed that Dabi did not have a notable record prior to joining the LOV. Keep that in mind)
This pisses Tomura off. He hates Stain for turning him down and doesn't understand his ideals. Society was wrong and heroes were two-faced liars who perpetuated it. Why not wipe out everything? Why not destroy it all? He expresses this to the new candidates.
Dabi rolls his eyes and calls Tomura an idiot without a real cause. He doesn't care about what or who gets destroyed, but he admires Stain because he spoke out against false heroes. He claims that false heroes are the real blunder on society and if they can be purged, humanity might get their shit together.
Toga doesn't talk about false heroes, but she does want a world where everyone can be accepted no matter what he quirk is. She wants to be herself and have people to accept and care about her. She felt a kinship with Stain because of the similarities in their quirks and thought that the League would accept her because of this.
Tomura is frustrated because he doesn't understand what the hell these people are talking about. He tries to kill them and they go to defend themselves only for Kurogiri to intervene. He tells Tomura that he needs all the forces he can get and that maybe he should actually listen to what these two have to say.
Grumbling, he goes to the mall to clear his head.
This happens to be when 1A also goes to the mall to prepare for the training camps. Izuku, Iida, Uraraka, Tsu, and Yaoyorozu form a small group as they look for things to buy. Yaoyorozu's made an itinerary and hands everyone a list of basic necessities. The girls break off from the boys, wanting to see if they can find more comfortable clothes to wear.
Iida expresses his gratitude to Izuku, not for saving him, but for showing him what it means to be a hero. Izuku blushes and stutters, telling Iida he really doesn't need to thank him. Especially because he doesn't think he did the right thing during the final exam. He confesses what happened to Iida and that he feels like he betrayed his morals.
But Iida assures him that he didn't do anything wrong. Bakugou was risking both their grades and was never in any actual danger. Izuku says that even so he should have tried harder. Iida's quiet for a moment, then asks Izuku how he feels about Bakugou.
Izuku is confused by the question. He admires Bakugou's strength and dedication. What more is there? Why is Iida asking him this?
But before he can say that, a hooded figure shows up and starts touching Izuku (stranger danger) while expressing how much of a fan he was. He goes on and on about how he was so cool during the Sports Festival and facing Stain (chronic yapper). Both Izuku and Tenya are tense, especially when the stranger reveals that he didn't think they would meet again.
They both realize at the same time that the man is Tomura Shigaraki, the one who led the attack on the USJ.
Iida immediately moves to do... something (attack? Call for help? He doesn't know!) only to watch with horror as Shigaraki's fingers close around Izuku's neck, leaving his middle finger off him.
Shigaraki tells both of them to calm down unless they want Izuku to die. But Izuku assures Iida that it doesn't matter if he dies, he just wants him to stop Shigaraki. If he makes a scene, the heroes will show up. However, Shigaraki tells them that he'll kill everyone he can before the heroes get there if either of them draw any attention. Iida wasn't planning on risking it anyway.
Shigaraki tells them that the Hero Killer is bugging him. Both of them are confused; they assumed that Stain was working with him. Shigaraki tells them that wasn't the case and that he's jealous of all the attention Stain is getting. He doesn't understand the difference between them.
Iida asks what Shigaraki's goal is. He hates Stain, but he knows that Stain had a goal. One that might not have been as baseless as he originally thought. His brother, who he had thought was a virtuous, noble hero had done something wrong. If he was right about Tensei, wasn't it possible that he was right about all of them?
Shigaraki answers that he wants to destroy everything.
Izuku says that's why he isn't getting any attention. He had been thinking a lot about Todoroki and what he had told him about Endeavor. If the #2 hero was that bad, what were other heroes getting away with? How much did society overlook about someone just because they were strong? It's hard for him to admit through his admiration for heroes, but he thinks Stain made some sort of sense. He tells Shigaraki that Stain had a goal and a reason for doing things, while Shigaraki causes destruction for no reason. Izuku doesn't agree with what Stain does, but his ideals make some sort of sense.
Izuku tells Shigaraki that he suspects that Stain wants to fix things about society and that correlates to killing false heroes. He doesn't understand how quite yet, but he assumes him and All Might were spared because they put others first. They were "true heroes," according to Stain.
(He really doesn't feel like a true hero after what happened in the final exam. He feels like a fake)
Shigaraki thinks about his answer. He thinks about what Toga and Dabi said. He knew society was wrong, Sensei had always told him that. But he had always said the answer was destroying it and Tomura had always agreed.
But fixing it? He doesn't understand the point of that. Tomura had never fixed anything in his life. He had always just destroyed and killed whatever irked him, whatever made him angry. And Sensei had encouraged it. He's a villain and he had never denied that. He doesn't want to fix anything.
He just wants to destroy it.
Didn't he?
But Stain's goals seemed to get attention. He could use that to his advantage. Then everyone would have to pay attention to him. He could make Stain's followers his own. Starting with those two fools who followed him so devoutly.
The girls return. Uraraka and Yaoyorozu ask who their friend is, but Tsu instantly realizes who it is. She had been a second away from dying at his hand. She could never forget that face. She freezes, which makes the other two girls realize something is wrong. They demand that Shigaraki let go of Izuku.
Shigaraki chuckles and does as they say. He thanks Izuku and Iida for the help and leaves, warning them not to follow. Izuku asks what All For One is after, to which Shigaraki replies he has no idea. He then tells Izuku to worry about himself because he'll kill him next time they meet.
Once he's gone, Uraraka frantically asks what happened and if they're alright while Yaoyorozu tends to Tsu who's gone pale. Uraraka calls the police while Iida tries to shake Izuku who's unresponsive.
He can't bring himself to respond to his friends. All he can think about is how he was going to stop Shigaraki and All For One before they can hurt more people
Notes:
Aizawa redemption anyone?? He's going to be a better teacher from here on out. Still an asshole, but his goal is going to be actively working to improve his students. Letting Bakugou's behavior go unchecked to where he felt comfortable attacking his teammate was the wake-up call he needed
I intentionally didn't have All Might talk to Izuku. He's still grappling with his own views about heroics at the moment and he suspects that Bakugou is a bully, so it doesn't occur to him that Izuku might thing he was disappointed in him. They're both really bad communicators
It was a weird choice on Horikoshi's part to make Sero pay for Mineta's shortcomings. He could have used this to address Mineta's actions, instead he more or less rewards it. Feels like something he does a lot with Mineta (he also did it during the JTA), which is part of the reason why he's so hated
I swear Uraraka is so much more enjoyable as a character when you take away her crush on Izuku. Rewriting this damn story is reigniting my love for her
So, Shigaraki. What I'm doing here is trying to a) give him agency and b) have him overcome AFO's manipulations. Shigaraki's hatred of heroes and society comes from AFO taking advantage of what happened that night he killed his family. These aren't Shigaraki's real feelings, he doesn't have enough agency to have real feelings at this point. My changes here were to a) give him a real goal and b) show that he and Izuku are kind of coming to terms with the same thing. That's also why I steered away from him wanting to kill All Might, I want their interaction to be driven away from their mentors. They're kind of coming to the same conclusions, but on opposite spectrums
I kept Iida around because I wanted him to also reflect on Stain and Tensei. Also, he's a good friend
I know it might feel OOC to have Izuku leave Bakugou. I felt weird writing it. But this is supposed to be representative of a few things. Izuku's views are changing and evolving. He's being affected by the people around him, most noticeably Momo who's kind of his opposite here. He knew he wasn't ready to fight All Might and knew it was pointless to get Bakugou to cooperate. He was thinking objectively and allowed himself to do so because it was a school assignment and not real life (he wouldn't be able to do this in a real situation). It also isn't a coincidence that this happened after Bakugou punched him. He's coming to terms with how much Bakugou's treatment has affected him over the years. After all that's happened- his friends' and All Might's concerns- Izuku is beginning to separate himself from Bakugou, even if he hasn't realized it yet. This is actually what Iida was going to suggest was happening before Shigaraki showed up
Dabi is way closer to being morally ambiguous than an outright villain here. I mean, in my opinion, that's how he was originally. Him and Toga are both following Stain's ideals more closely, although Toga doesn't really understand them to the same extent (I noticed that Shigaraki seemed to assume that Toga didn't actually care about Stain's goals despite admiring him but didn't include Dabi in that. It implies that his goals always aligned more closely with what Stain wanted. Horikoshi why did you ruin him)

How will Deku ‘save’ shigaraki at your end?
I think the answer is simple but also hard thing to do.
Tumblr media
Shigaraki wants to be acknowledged by heroes, by society, by everyone. I think what would save Shigaraki is to be heard, to be understood, to show that his life matters too. For once. FOR GODDAMN ONCE, someone to care enough to prioritize saving him too.
Izuku could and WOULD relate to him because he knows whats it feels like to be outcast, someone who is not worthy or someone who is left behind. He knows what it feels like and he wouldnt let anyone feel the same way he did.
He would sempathize with Shigaraki and would actually listen to him. Why? Because Izuku wants to understand villains. Why? Because Izuku already learnt both by his own experiences and others, that there is something wrong with this society. Best way to show?
Not giving up on Shigaraki.
Even if it means, he has to go agaisnt his elders, teachers. Not because he doesnt care about the people Shigaraki killed or safety of the world. But because Deku is someone who would always prioritize the victim in front of him, despite everyone around him told him not to do that. Deku wouldnt give up on saving Shigaraki's life even if Shigaraki repeatedly refuses him. He would hesitate to kill him every single time, just like the same way Batman hesitated to kill Joker, except it would actually matter because Shigaraki is not Joker.
Tumblr media
Well, yes. Deku is not Batman either. Batman has flaws too, but at least he was allowed to be invidual with personal feelings. Not robot who always do and say right things. Deku wasnt a character like this at the beginning but it seems after some point, author seems to give up his character. His past, his romantic feelings for Ochaco, his toxic relationship with his bully Bakugou, his full support for Shouto, his Goddamn father, literally everything about his character.
Everything that makes Izuku interesting (to me) disappeared after some point. Because Izuku we all know would save Shigaraki. He would call out his elders, just like he once called out Endeavour at the spor festival for Shouto's sake. Izuku wouldnt give up, just like the meaning of his hero name. He wouldnt give up, especially after he said 'He looked like he needs saving' after Shigaraki killed many people in front of him a few mins ago. Thats the whole point of his character and journey. Izuku would save Shigaraki no matter what.
(Bonus; I was also drawn to Izuku because he is infj, just like me. It was refreshing to see realistically written infj character, especially as main character.)
I already made a lot of posts in the past that explains why Izuku would and should Shigaraki. Too much, to the point i didnt even need to explain myself anymore. But well. Just like many other things, it is rushed and story failed to leave up to his own goal. 'The greatest hero'. This makes me sad because latest arcs ruined Izuku and Shigaraki's character the most. My two favorite characters.
I didnt write in too much details because i am tired but if this isnt enough, you can find hundreds of Bnha post in my blog about why Izuku would and should save Shigaraki.

Keigo Takami x Reader: Rapunzel AU
-------------------
His eyes scanned the room, keeping a lookout for the guards.
They had one shot at this and if they failed they would either be imprisoned for life or be put to death. There was too much at stake for failure.
Touya and Shigaraki were setting up the rope for his drop. The guards were stationed in a large circle around their prize. They would be expecting thieves to come through the doors or one of the many secret pathways, not an ariel attack.
The crown sat in the center of the room on a pedestal. Red cushion fluffed and kept free of dust all these years. You'd honestly think they'd give up. It's been almost 18 years for god's sake, chances of the lost princess returning are slim to none.
It doesn't matter, though, not when he's so close to a life of riches and ease. He just has to make sure he finds the perfect opportunity to drop his colleagues and take off with the headpiece.
Touya sends him a curt nod. It's time. Keigo fastens the rope to his harness and starts to shimmy down through the large, open ceiling.
'How daft can these people be? Making it this easy to steal their precious tiara...' He can't help but shake his head at how unassuming the people ruling his kingdom are.
Quick and silent as a mouse, Keigo is ground level and pocketing the crown. Just as he starts to climb back up, one of the guards sneezes and he can't help but let out a snide little "Bless you" before signaling the other two to pull him up.
"Thanks," the guard sneaks a look back to acknowledge him before realizing what happened.
They're packed up and running across the castle roofs before the alarm can properly start blaring through the streets. Making their way to the farthest wall they could, they slide down the rafters and make their way into the forest.
He can hear the yelling of the Kingsmen and the thundering steps of their steeds as they chase after them, desperate to get the tiara back.
Passing by a tree, he has to stop and do a double take. There's wanted posters with a caricature of their faces, though his in particular is quite insulting.
"Excuse me!? I do NOT look like that!" he squawks. He holds the Wanted poster next to his head as he desperately looks to his companions, hoping they disagree with it.
Touya and Shigaraki share a look before grabbing him by either arm and dragging him along.
"Fine! I'm coming!" He shoves the paper in his bag as he runs.
As they continue to run, dodging arrows and sword swipes, they reach a dead end,
"C'mon guys, boost me up and I'll pull you up after me." Keigo pants.
"Sure," Touya says. "Hand over the bag first."
I- What!? You guys don't trust me?" The two stare at him unimpressed. "Wow... I'm hurt, truly."
He slips the bag over his head and passes it to Shigaraki.
Touya and him link hands to boost Keigo up and over the edge. Once up, Keigo steadies himself and turns to reach down a hand.
Just before Touya can grab it, he pulls it back.
"What the hell, Takami? Help us up!"
"Nah," he grins. He turns to leave only to be stopped by Shigaraki yelling.
"You're really gonna leave the crown?"
"Oh, You see..." He holds up the leather satchel, "I'm not leaving it; good luck boys!"
With that, Keigo disappears into the thicket just as the others are cornered by the soldiers.
He rushes through the trees and bushes a bit longer before he's intercepted by an unmanned horse. He can faintly hear the faint yelling of the name "Bakugou" which he can only assume is the horse's name.
It advances on him like a rabid dog, chasing him through the forest until he finally manages to give it the slip by hiding behind the vines of a cave.
When he hears the horse pass, he lets out a sigh. He turns to venture deeper into the cave, only to find that it's not a true cave. The back lets out to a large clearing with a waterfall and a tower in the center.
Thankfully, he saved a couple of the arrows he avoided. Using them as climbing hooks, he scales the tower.
Finally falling through the, luckily, open window, Keigo slumps against the wall. He pulls the satchel back out and opens it to peak at his prize.
"Alone at last-"
Before he can revile in his success at escaping the swordsmen and outfoxing his fellow thieves, there's a sharp -thwack- and a stinging pain that rings through his skull as his vision goes black.

God, Bakugou vs Deku 2 pissed me off so much that I actually dropped the series for a bit.
Like, it would have been one thing had he a) actually reflected on and examined his actions and consequences up to that point, b) All Might put his foot down and said that Bakugou was not entitled to learn about OFA and needed to get his head out of his ass, and c) been the only one punished. If nothing else, that COULD have been an awesome catalyst for his character development.
But no, we get this two steps forward-twenty steps backwards, halfassed and honestly pathetic "WhY wAs I tHe OnE wHo EnDeD AlL MiGhT???" bullshit that gets him coddled by Hori, Izuku, and All Might. No aknowledging it was own damn fault he failed his exam. No acknowledging that he deliberately disobeyed orders to get back to camp. No aknowledhing how Todoroki and everyone had to practically babysit him to make sure he didn't use his Quirk all willy nilly and make the fire and poisonous gas worse. No aknowledging how horrible his attitude made himself and UA look. Instead, he pitches a fit and has the nerve to cry when he doesn't get his way ("Bakugou was never spoiled!" my fucking ass)... which gives him his way!
And Hori honest to God thought this was good writing, which is just all I have to say about that.
Yup. It's definitely the worst part of the series for me. Making Bakugou out to be a victim when he isn't and giving him what he wants after he cries about it too much.
What makes it even worse in my opinion is that, well, we know how toxic Bakugou and Izuku's relationship is. Izuku's admiration for him as well as years of him being cowed by Bakugou means he's at the disadvantage during every one of their interactions. Bakugou holds the power between them and he knows that. You notice he wouldn't try this shit with anyone else, but he knows he can push Izuku into doing what he wants.
To summarize, Bakugou is taking advantage of his role as an abuser to get what he wants.
This isn't even the first time he's done this either
Tumblr media
@delawaredetroit pointed this out a while ago, actually. Here, Bakugou is using guilt as a way to control and manipulate Izuku because he knows that it'll work. And he was right, because Izuku later confessed to inheriting his quirk completely unprompted.
This is also why I can't stand when people try to turn blame onto Izuku for how toxic their relationship is. Bakugou has never once suffered any ramification from any of their interactions. He's always been the one with the advantage, the one who ends up with everything he wants whether it's scaring Izuku or knowing the truth about OFA. He has always had 100% of the power and control in their relationship

Just read a fic praised by the MHA fandom as being 'anti Bakugou' and 'anti Endeavor' it is don't get me wrong but there is a part where the messaging becomes awful and the story goes downhill hard.
Aizawa confronts Shoto and Izu on some concerning behaviour they have shown because of their trauma. Then Izu tells him essentially 'Our situations are shit. You can't change mine or risk Bakugou becoming a villain. You can't change Todoroki's unless you want the HPSC after you for ruining Endeavor and having the public question heroes.'
In this fic, Aizawa hears this. Then literally just nods, agrees and decides to do nothing...
Like ignore the fact that the messaging to the reader is pure ass for a moment, what the fuck kind of teacher would react like that?!
Bakugou becoming a villain due to facing consequences of being an abusive shit? Let him. Being a villain would be HIS choice and for him to face the consequences of down the line. Besides he's not an AFO level threat, most heroes could K.O this fucker (especially Izuku which would be cathartic to read) if Hori weren't playing favorites.
The HPSC going after Aizawa for exposing Endeavor as a child abusing shit and the public questioning all heroes because of it? Well, if the HPSC are going to react like that instead of rightfully condemning Endeavor then they SHOULD be questioned. All heroes should be scrutinised because how many other heroes would have similarly got away with being child abusing shits with that logic? How is that a bad thing? In fact, if they did this it would take the wind out of Dabi because he wouldn't have SO MUCH of a valid point about Endeav not facing consequences for being a abuser.
God, the way Izuku and Todoroki in this are content sacrificing their childhoods on a pyre in this to protect these two abusive shits is so, SO sad. It's even sadder that the writer paints this as a noble choice instead of recognising it being a flawed one made by two traumatised children.
Then there is the fact that Aizawa LETS them instead of telling them, 'no you both deserve a happy childhood too' or 'no I will fight for you.' This paints him as an lazy and AWFUL teacher but also a AWFUL person point blank. The fic I don't believe did this intentionally because it isn't tagged Aizawa bashing which makes it worse...
Todoroki and Izuku's other friends and the other adults in their life also all try their best to cheer them up and fail because they don't have a clue what is going on. They also become noticeably sadder as a result which is just depressing.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just so depressed and angry now having read that and needed to vent somewhere.
I'm not the type to be a hater on someones work and I wanted to know your thoughts.
I... don't think I ever read this fic.
But from what you explained... yikes.
Why do these writers want to portray Bakugou becoming a villain as the worst possible outcome? Like I get and I'm all about giving people a chance to change for the better, but you also have take into context what that person has done and if they're WILLING to take that chance and actually WANT to change!
But from what we've seen of him, he never shows any signs of wanting to change for the better and just started holding back his brash behavior. In fact I'm even more convinced that once he's an adult, he'll just start putting a front for the public to make himself look good while concealing his true personality behind closed doors.
I think the only way to make Izuku saying this phrase work is if the story acknowledges what he's saying is wrong, have some of the characters point that out to him, and have one of the adults say something like this to him.
"If he ends up becoming a villain after this, then that's his decision. We'll be there to apprehend him and keep him from hurting anymore people."
Or you can make it into more like it's been ingrained in Izuku's mind that Bakugou is a strong fighter and that if he becomes a villain, than it's all over and no one can stop him. Only to be proven wrong when the news cover Bakugou's capture and how easy it was to take him down.
And as for the second part with Endeavor, god that logic is so fucking flawed...
Did the writer of that story NOT read through that or thought twice how that probably wouldn't make sense if the reader put two seconds into thinking about it? It wasn't like the HPSC was helping him conceal his abuse or anything, that was ENTIRELY on him!
And if he does end up being exposed? So what? They got plenty of heroes to spare and I'm sure they would want to save face to keep people from bashing on them for allowing such a person to be in a position of power.
Both Izuku and Shoto shouldn't have to sacrifice their childhoods to prop up and protect these horrible people in their lives, they both need to learn that people like that needs to be cut out from their lives. And even if they're changing, they aren't obligated to forgive them and keep them close... it won't make you a horrible person for choosing not to.
That's one of the problems I keep finding in this fandom, they have a black and white view on things that they think forgive and forget is the only best option and that choosing not to will make them into a horrible person for holding grudges.

hue just some oc
Tumblr media
Rant+oc talk
I'M NOT LEAVING LMK FANDOM ANYTIME I LOVE IT TOO MUCH! I've just been frustrated lately, I have trouble with BNHA especially making an oc. But I favorite Gyaru characters they always have the best outfits. So I am hoping this calms my brain cells a bit, I've been having a hard time making a bnha oc but now I have one! She's actually a redesign of many various ocs I had in the past. Yes...I was shamefully in the BNHA fandom...I was a despicable person honestly.
I like the world building, the power system and how it works with science. It has some amazing characters and yes I still do like Bakugou I heard he died and then a lot of things in the manga are disappointing. I have a hate and love relationship with the anime honestly. I could write a whole chapter on it. I especially also don't like bnha oc, I'm sorry but this is my opinion but please don't take it the wrong way. It may come off a bit hypocritical but some BNHA oc are pretty boring and bland, they all look relatively the same, the same white paper skin, blue eyes and black or white hair. Not to mention some quirks are also pretty boring, they also have the same head shape and same eyes.
For me, all BNHA oc look the same, there's nothing to distinguish them well. That's my rant for the fandom side as for the anime. Horikoshi has a big problem with some arcs and characters he never once again used and it's frustrated. Also...fucking Mineta god I hate that character with a burning passion.
Anyways off with my oc, her name is Misao. Her quirk is entirely based off on Mami powers in Madoka Magica. Her whole ordeal is magical girl stuff. So quirk I don't have a name but the description of it is, her cells can turn into guns, only her cells though she can't use anybody else's cells to make guns. Her father Quirk is a healing Quirk while her body is the same as her daughter she can pull any type of gun she wants from her cells except she can use other people cells. For that, the Mother is a military soldier and her father is a medical doctor.
Misao quirk is a combination of the two, let me explain this. Misao's cells can manufacture guns, it doesn't matter which one as long as she has the knowledge of that gun existence and it system is something possible. For her to pop out the gun she needs she will have to pull off a bit of her cells or her skin, it's a painful experience that makes the gun's power more powerful. The good thing is that with the combination of her father Quirk the pain lasts a bit but that all depends in which one she's taking out. Small guns require less so they feel like a pinch while bigger weapons require much force and it can cause Misao a lot of pain. Which is great for power but bad for Misao. She cannot produce bullets though, those she has to make by herself or she can ask her parents for them. It between those two but sometimes she rather ask Yayorozu or Bakugou with these. Like I said earlier Misao can heal faster than a normal person can, also the more guns she gets out the more immobilize she gets and more weaker she grows. Taking out a weapon strains her to the point where she will fall unconscious and stop moving for a couple of hours.
Also she's not very smart, you can say she's a bimbo. So she fails at tests and quizzes but does well in responding while getting her nails done. Also, most of her classmates think she's dumb and just like some of them but Bakugou is the only one to acknowledge the opposite. She was train as a military child, something she dislikes as well. She prefers looking good and getting her nails done, she actually doesn't even want to be a hero, she wants to be an idol. Her dream were crushed as a middle schooler, she really doesn't have a lot of choice.
She also doesn't like some of her classmates because of how their personality rubs her the wrong way. She's uncomfortable with them so she avoids getting to know them, the only one who she enjoys the company with is Bakugou, mostly because of his eyes also his quirk drawbacks but she does avoid him. Shinso is another person she enjoys being with, she's more close to him since they both can connect with each other about societal problems and cats.

ka - tsu - ki
maybe this is a prequel to ‘until i met you.’, who knows. i just wanted a soft Them. full drabble below, or on ao3 here.
Shouto can’t fall asleep.
It’s been maybe two hours since they all decided to turn in, after a fun day out and staying up to talk once they were in their futons, but for some reason Shouto hasn’t been able to fall asleep like the rest of his classmates.
That isn’t to say he isn’t tired, because he is, but… He doesn’t know. Maybe it’s that it’s late, and he’s thinking about how unlikely all of this is. That he’s surrounded by so many friends, people he loves and who love him back. It hits him sometimes, in situations like this, how high of a chance he had to not have all of this. To— To end up like Touya had, become his very own Dabi.
He’s always been told that he’s blessed, had been ever since his quirk first manifested, but he thinks this is what the word truly means. To be lucky enough to have such a solid support system. And to also have…
Shouto turns his head to the right, to where Bakugou is sleeping—snoring—soundly, and then as his heart starts to drum in his ears, as he feels as if his quirk will activate if he doesn’t clench his fists, he opens his mouth and tries out, “Ka-tsu-ki.”
He makes sure to say it as quietly as he can, barely a whisper, just the movement of his lips, but then Bakugou shifts in his sleep and Shouto fucking panics and turns onto his other side, holding his hands to his heart which is now beating at a rapid pace, his face heating up like crazy.
He curls in on himself, drawing into a tight little ball, and wills himself to calm down.
Earlier that day, when Shouto had been running around admiring all the sights he’d never seen before, Bakugou had yelled that after him. ‘Calm down, ya fuckin’ Half-and-Half!’ And then when he’d finally caught up to Shouto, ‘You idiot, would it kill you to wait up for me?’
Shouto had asked, really quite innocuously, ‘Why?’
He wasn’t expecting Bakugou to blush and turn his head away. To grip Shouto’s hand roughly and start pulling him towards the next exhibit. To say quietly, ‘Just wanna see everything with you, that’s all.’
It made Shouto blush too, and filled him with this giddy little feeling. They continued their tour like that—holding hands, pointing out things they liked to each other, things they thought were funny.
Their classmates were awful at hiding their giggles upon the sight of them, or maybe they weren’t trying to hide anything at all, judging by the way many of them openly teased them.
Bakugou yelled at them in response every time, but didn’t let go of Shouto’s hand. Shouto, for his part, simply smiled at his boyfriend fondly, which in turn egged on his friends even more.
He had fun though. Shouto really had fun. Not just spending the day with his friends, but also being able to spend it with Bakugou like that.
He never thought it’d be like this. Even after their classmates had kind of goaded Bakugou into confessing, and he’d responded awkwardly, ‘Oh, me too,’ and then their classmates started celebrating their getting together without the two of them really agreeing to anything, Shouto didn’t think it would be like this.
That Bakugou would insist they do couple-y things, have a date each week, even if it was just a study date in one of their dorm rooms. He didn’t think Bakugou would want to acknowledge it in public, but there he was, holding Shouto’s hand for all to see.
Bakugou is a secret romantic, actually, and it kind of makes sense.
As for Shouto, he was somewhat overwhelmed by their relationship and all that came with it in the beginning. He didn’t know what to do with himself or what to do with Bakugou, but…
It’s inevitable now, he knows.
Shouto is going to fall in love with him someday.
Maybe he already has.
And that’s—
That’s fucking terrifying, his heart is beating so loudly in his ears.
He doesn’t know what it’s like to give himself to someone like that, doesn’t know if he wants to give himself to someone like that.
But then he thinks about Bakugou, about Katsuki, and the way he shows his affection—always rough and a bit disconcerting, but laced with so much care all the same. The way he looks at Shouto like he’s everything, the intensity of it all causing Shouto to have to look away.
Shouto thinks about how far Katsuki has come since he first met him, how far they’ve both come from the arrogant and self-assured brats who were just starting at U.A.
He thinks of Katsuki, on his way to becoming a hero who will surely be admired and adored by the masses.
If he had to give his heart to anyone, Shouto thinks, there is no better person than Katsuki.

rules: tag 9 people (or so) you want to know better and/or catch up with, then answer the questions below! — I was tagged by @jimbothy-magma from this post and @yarn-dragon from this post.
They both tagged me in the same post meme format whatever, and one person tagged my @uc-beepboop account. Since I am just the same lil guy as my UC side blog, I thought I would do both here (they are more or less the same). Thanks for tagging me!
last song: “Do U Really?” By Lyn Lapid (with Ruth B.) ← This song has been something I’ve been listening on repeat I love both of them.
three ships: (1) Nephila Mori x Laz Malidity from Arc 8 of Unprepared Casters: I love them and it is a toxic-ish relationship + acknowledge that they have issues WHILE Nephila being one-sided in love with her AND Laz has boundaries while being Nephila’s firmest ally. (2) BakuKiri: Bakugou and Kirishima because they can actually withstand each other lolz and (3) Raeda: Eda x Raine from the Owl House. Old friends back to lovers sometimes hits hard.
currently reading: Okay I got two for you. (1) Our Missing Hearts by Celest Ng and damn… it’s this dystopian future that borders too close to our own, and as someone who’s Chinese American, there’s quite a bit to think about there! (2) In the middle of “You are coming down with me, hand in unloveable hand” written by the wonderful @silly-goofy-mood and @yarn-dragon (the same person who tagged me!). I haven’t had time to finish because of classes and work meetings but I’ll read it once I’m finished writing this post.
last movie: Guys I don’t watch movies a lot I watch TV shows lol ;-; I don’t want to keep saying Wakanda Forever, so I’ll say a TV show instead: Stranger Things Season 4
craving: for my work to be over please why are there tests on this stuff
tag time: I’ll tag some people sure (you are not obligated at all!): @silly-goofy-mood, @tianshiisdead, @marigoldmorrigan, @adventuresofahufflepunk, @amywontkillyou, @lordsardine, @peonycats, @urmomsstuntdouble, @princefaux

Note
I would like so much, to discuss how people are so inclined to hate Katsuki, and ignore any development he has had to this moment. Though, i am not sure how to even begin. Would you have any thoughts on it, as well?
I just know this is gonna be a long post because as I am typing this I feel like I have so much to say. So, yes, this is a warning.
💥
To begin, what bothers me is that people who hate Bakugou do tend to ignore his development. Look, regardless of how it's written or how much of it is, at least the development is there. Yes, Bakugou is still Bakugou. He still yells and explodes, but let's be for real. I said this before. If he was nice, like Koda nice, some of you would then find him boring as hell. (I love Koda, I'm not dissing him.)
Not only that, I feel like some people don't like characters with flaws and personally, if you prefer no villains, no jerks with hearts of gold, etc... that sounds like a very boring palette to me.
With that said, I feel like some people also tend to ignore his development for two reasons.
One, they don't want to acknowledge that this character they like hating on so much actually grew, actually realized that he has flaws he needs to work on. Like "how can I hate on this character who is aware of how they are and is working to change". Are you afraid you'll like Bakugou? And maybe, it's like looking into a mirror for them and themselves don't want to be reminded "Hey, I'm an asshole and I should change that".
Two, they don't know Bakugou's development exist. Lately, I've been seeing some people saying they dropped BNHA years ago and then they find out something happen and be all confused or whatever and honestly, it amuses me. It also annoys me because then that tells me that you have little knowledge about BNHA. Therefore, why would I (someone who is caught up with both the anime and manga) would listen to someone who only seen the Sports Festival and have yet to pick BNHA back up?
Regardless of what you say, you're going to be wrong. I'm not going to listen to someone who insists they're right about something they know little of.
You know what, I was gonna stop here but I feel like continuing.
Here's something else I don't get.
People who hate on Bakugou and yet be fans of characters who are much worse or just the same and/or have yet to have development themselves or none at all.
Example, I have crossed a Dabi fan blog once who hated on Bakugou (commented on one of my posts) and all I can think to myself is "didn't Dabi like kill people"?
Look, before anyone says anything, I do like Dabi. His backstory is fucked up and I get that's why he's the way he is. He entertains me as much as the rest of the League do. But one thing Dabi has that Bakugou doesn't is a damn kill count. And we didn't even get any Dabi backstory until what? Season 6?
Before then, Dabi was just an asshole without a backstory. And here's the thing. Before we found out he was even Endeavor's son, people ADORED Dabi.
I say this again. Dabi is an asshole. Bakugou is an asshole.
Yet, Dabi has fans and I barely see people hate on him as much as Bakugou is hated on. And this is BEFORE Dabi's reveal now. I do not see people having whole Dabi hate blogs (not saying you should, I don't get that either).
As much as people whine about Bakugou being mean and how cruel he is, it's baffling that some of those same people will be swooning over someone like... Overhaul.
Like who you like, but please keep your bullshit over there. We're not gonna pretend that one character has bad things and the other who also has done bad things didn't do those bad things.
It's just... what is it exactly that gets this antis so pressed over Bakugou, of all characters?
First of all, he ain't some new mean character. Let's not act as if we haven't had asshole characters before in any media. It is not new to have a jerk character that contrasts the nice one. Stop it now, don't act brand new.
Is it because it's so "illegal" that hero characters aren't always sunshine and rainbows? "Oh my gosh! He's supposed to be on the good side, why is he so mean? I'm clutching my pearls!" Honey... you would find him boring if he was nice. Ever heard of "variety"? There are villains who are nice and don't kill! What? Does everything gotta be "by the book"?
We do not need rules set on how these characters should be. Give me a break.
Second, is it because he's popular? That's one thing that I will probably be amused by. Bakugou is hated, but he's been #1 in how many popularity polls? Besides Midoriya, isn't he like the next character to be shipped with almost everyone? (I actually hate that. Like they shouldn't be that damn shippable. Thank you, exclude option.) You know how many fan songs there is of Bakugou?! Fanart?! MERCH?! DAMN EDITS?!
Or let's not forget the "He reminds me of someone who bullied me in school". That is a valid reason to hate him, I totally get it. Look, I had people like that in school. However, what I'm not going to do is going around with reblogging people's post to put them down about liking Bakugou and using my past that I have moved on from as an excuse to put down that Bakugou fan because I'm feeling some time of way.
Which some of you do.
Which I don't get.
You know what, in general what I don't get about Bakugou fans is how much time and effort they spend hating on him?
Let me get this straight. You hate Bakugou, but you spend hours and hours going around spreading that hate like it's some agenda?
How do you put in more effort on a character you hate more than his actual fans?
Maybe I missed a memo or something, but I thought if we hated something we don't spend our energy on that thing we hate?
For now, that's really all I gotta say.

8 | A World Drained of Life
Pairing: Todoroki x Fem!Reader
Until the End Masterlist
As you walk down the desolate street, the weight of your mission hangs heavy in the air, but silence is broken by Todoroki's voice, his tone serious and focused. "We must remain cautious and united, every step of the way," he begins to explain.
Bakugou lets out an exasperated sigh and rolls his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. We've heard this speech a thousand times," he grumbles. "I'm not saying it's not important, but damn, trust us a bit, will ya?"
Todoroki turns to Bakugou, his eyes narrowing slightly. "I am going to continue to say it because people's lives are at stake," he says firmly. "We can't afford to let our guard down or make reckless decisions."
You chime in, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Todoroki's right. We've come this far, and we owe it to Uraraka and the others to see this through."
Bakugou huffs, but there's a flicker of determination in his eyes. "Whatever, just don't expect me to hold your hand the whole way," he grumbles.
As the team progresses, you encounter a road blocked by a line of abandoned vehicles, their rusty frames and shattered windows a reminder of the world that once was. Todoroki scans the area, his brow furrowing with determination. "We'll have to find another way," he says.
You and the others begin to navigate through the maze of crumbling buildings and debris, stepping cautiously over fallen beams and shattered glass. Every corner brings the possibility of danger, and your senses are heightened as you keep a watchful eye on your surroundings.
Bakugou takes the lead, clearing away the rubble and creating safe passages for your group to move forward.
After what feels like an endless journey, you stumble upon a small alcove tucked away between decaying buildings. The worn-out bricks offer a semblance of shelter, a momentary respite from the harsh reality outside. You and your tired companions find a spot to sit down and catch your breath.
Bakugou slumps down, fatigue etched across his face. His usually fiery demeanor is replaced with a weariness that matches the desolate landscape surrounding you. Concern fills your heart as you retrieve a canteen of water from your bag, handing it to him wordlessly.
He accepts it gratefully, his rough hands wrapping around the cool metal. With a tired yet appreciative nod, he takes a long swig. The simple act of sharing water speaks volumes, a silent acknowledgment of the bond forged through hardships.
As the exhaustion momentarily fades, you and your companions find yourselves interrupted by the arrival of another group. Their presence brings an immediate tension to the air, their eyes scanning your belongings with a predatory gleam.
"Who're they?" you nod in the direction while the other two narrow their eyes to get a closer look.
Suddenly, the group emerges from the shadows and rushes toward you, their intent clear in their eyes. Todoroki's reflexes kick in, and he swiftly snatches your bag just before they can reach it, protecting it from the would-be thieves. He then passes it toward you a bit too forcefully, nearly causing you to fall backward in your step. He immediately apologizes, his voice filled with genuine remorse.
The group, initially aggressive, is taken aback by Todoroki's unexpected action. Laughter erupts among them, their hostile demeanor momentarily diffused. One of them, a wiry figure with a sly grin, steps forward and mockingly asks, "What the hell are you three supposed to be? Hippies?"
"Hippies?" Bakugou, never one to back down, steps forward with a confident smirk. "Guess you can call us that if it means we sure as hell won't let a bunch of lowlifes like you steal our supplies."
The leader of the opposing group, a tall and imposing figure, glares at you, his voice dripping with malice. "Hand over your supplies, or we'll kill all three of you."
"We don't want any trouble," you say firmly, your voice carrying a mixture of determination and reason. "We're all just trying to survive here. There must be a way we can find common ground without resorting to violence."
The leader narrows his eyes, skeptical yet intrigued by your proposition. "And what do you suggest, huh? I'm not looking to only get half when I know I can just take it all."
"And I can understand that," you respond, holding your ground.
"Y/N," Todoroki begins to call out to you, but you continue to ignore him.
"But consider this."
"Y/N! They're not willing to negotiate!"
"By taking all of our things, you'll be making enemies out of us. You don't know how many more of us there are or what kind of connections we have. It's in your best interest to find a middle ground where both sides benefit."
As the words leave your lips, you notice a flicker of recognition in the leader's eyes. He takes a step back, his face contorting with a mix of surprise and wariness. "Hold on a second... Do I know you?" he mutters, his voice laced with a tinge of unease as he glances between the three of you.
"Ya know, I thought I saw your ugly face before but I wasn't gonna mention it unless you brought it up," Bakugou says, a smirk playing on his lips. "You remember me from our last encounter, don't ya? That fight didn't end so well for your crew, did it?"
The leader's gaze wavers, memories of their previous confrontation resurfacing. He glances at his comrades, contemplating the situation. The tension in the air becomes palpable as he weighs the risks of engaging with Bakugou once again.
After a tense pause, the leader reluctantly takes a step back, his voice laced with caution. "Alright, we'll take what you're offering. Just remember, this doesn't mean we're allies. You got lucky this time, but don't think we won't remember your faces."
With a mix of relief and satisfaction, you watch as the leader's group retreats, their desire for conflict momentarily subdued. You then exchange puzzled looks with Todoroki and yourself, wondering about the source of Bakugou's reputation. The silence hangs in the air until Bakugou catches onto your confusion. He scoffs and rolls his eyes at your expressions. "What?" he retorts, crossing his arms defensively. "My old group used to go around picking fights with assholes like them, just to take whatever useless crap they had. It's not like we were doing it for some noble cause or anything."
A mixture of surprise and realization dawns on you and Todoroki as you piece together the puzzle. Bakugou had a history of confrontation, not for the sake of justice, but for the sheer thrill of it which certainly explains a lot about him.
You can't help but be impressed by the unexpected depth of Bakugou's experience and find yourself looking at him in a slightly different light, a mix of admiration and curiosity.
Todoroki, breaking the silence, glances at Bakugou and smirks. "Well, Bakugou, you certainly know how to keep surprises up your sleeve."
Bakugou's face flushes slightly, a rare display of vulnerability. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Don't get used to it. I'm not all soft and cuddly like you two."
You chuckle at his response, appreciating the banter. "No worries, Bakugou. We know better than to expect you to be all rainbows and sunshine."
Todoroki adds with a playful smirk, "But hey, at least we know we have a secret weapon in our midst."
Bakugou rolls his eyes but can't hide a hint of a smile. "Damn right you do. Just remember, don't mess with me or you'll regret it."
You share a lighthearted laugh, the tension from the encounter with the other group melting away. In this unpredictable world, finding moments of camaraderie and humor is precious.

Katsuki Bakugou
Y'all Hate Teens Propaganda
Tumblr media
(cw bullying, abduction, implied death threats)
"Bakugou has an explosive personality and tends to be rather aggressive. He was a bully as a kid, but it's clear to anyone who's up to date with My Hero Academia that that is not all he is. As a teenager he's going through a lot of growth. He has apologized to his former bullying victim, has changed his ways, and there is a lot he can be praised for. He's determined, dedicated, loyal to his friends, and ultimately a good person who makes an effort to change and become better. He looks up to All Might, the hero who's famous for saving as many people as possible with a smile on his face.
People hate him for doing stupid things that kids and teens often do. They reduce him to his mistakes and ignore all the ways in which he's changed and evolved. "
-
"Bakugo does not start out nice. He’s rude, egotistical, and most of all, a bully. He repeatedly dogs on Izuku, outright telling him to…uh…pursue the possibility of rebirth, as it were. Bakugo boasts about how he’s gonna be the only one from his school to make it into UA, the ultimate hero school.
But then…things happen, one after another. He’s captured by a sludge villain, and Izuku tries to save him. He makes it into UA, but so does Izuku. He fights him in a class activity, but while he technically beats him in a fight, he loses the activity, and is shown up by his peers. Bakugo goes from the top of the pecking order to being a social outcast (save for Kirishima). Things come to a head during the summer camp arc, where Bakugo is kidnapped by the League of Villains as a prospective recruit. While he’s rescued, the resulting fight depowers his idol, All Might. When the entire class tries to get their hero licenses, he’s one of two students to not get his. He ends up fighting Izuku later on, finally revealing that he blames himself for All Might losing his powers. All Might assures him otherwise, but it still lingers in his mind.
Fast forward some years. After a mission goes horribly wrong and the main bad guys basically erode all trust in heroes, Izuku is out on his own, having turned away from his class. When they all go out to recover him, Bakugo takes one of the central charges. From there, once they all manage to get Izuku calm…Bakugo apologizes.
He puts it in no uncertain terms. He was an ass. He was held in high regard as a child, and felt threatened any time that world view was challenged. It’s not an excuse, and he acknowledges that. He lays out in no uncertain terms that Izuku is better than he is.
Yes, Bakugo was a jerk starting out who was a complete bully of a character with few redeeming qualities…but the series never praised him for that. It was the point of his arc, having to learn to accept humility, and come to terms with his own failings. People act like he’s irredeemable in a series with serial killers, abusive parents, complete monsters, and Mineta. But we all knew a Bakugo. Heck, maybe we still do. Someone who had to learn to be kind later than others…and someone who eventually did."

this wasn’t meant to offend you in any way, so I’m sorry that it did, but I’m referring to the bnha fanbase on Instagram. I ship kiribaku but I’ve never demanded that Horikoshi make my ship canon😅 and I won’t be disappointed even if it DOESN’T become canon. I know it’s not likely. I also know EVERY fandom has a toxic side and it doesn’t surprise me that some kiribaku fans have done that.
But Kiribaku isn’t the biggest ship—bakudeku is the largest bnha ship. (With Tododeku and then kiribaku after that)
my post in general is just saying that I’ve seen many people on Instagram completely disregard the friendship of Kirishima and Bakugou. My point is that Bakugou acknowledges both Uraraka AND Kirishima :)
(Also, I’ve had PLENTY of ships that experience hate...I know what it’s like to have ships 80% of a fandom hates...)
listen this isn’t meant to be a ship hate post at all but…I’ve seen some anti kiribakus on Instagram saying that Uraraka is the only person whom Bakugou has acknowledged…
Tumblr media
HOW CAN U IGNORE THIS???
Tumblr media
hello???
Tumblr media
Even Midoriya says “It has to be [Kirishima] who saves [Bakugou]” because Kirishima has built a strong relationship with Bakugou!
“But Bakugou has only shown an act of kindness towards Uraraka (by complimenting her strength)!”
Tumblr media
how can you ignore this Iconic™️ moment where Bakugou gave Kirishima money since Kirishima spent his money on using night goggles so he could save Bakugou??
whether you view their relationship as platonic or romantic, you can’t deny that these two obviously care for each other. they’ve formed and solidified a unique bond throughout their time at UA.
Tumblr media
Kirishima proteccs…. *sniff*
yes, Uraraka is AMAZING and it’s great that Bakugou acknowledged her strength! but don’t forget that she’s not the only person he ‘admires.’
I WILL NOT DEAL WITH THIS KIRIBAKU ERASURE!

all these little things
Relationship: TodoBaku
Tags: Established relationship, Character Study, Fluff, Characters are Pro Heroes
“Ugh. Bakugou is such an ass.” Tokage said, collapsing down on the couch in the agency common area. She didn’t work at Endeavor Agency, but she was currently part of a joint mission, leading her to spending a fair deal of time in the office anyway. “Honestly, Todoroki-kun. I don’t know how you like him.”
Todoroki thought about that for a moment. It’s true, Bakugou was harsh, abrasive. Loud. Rude. Aggressive. All seemingly negative traits. But somehow the blonde made them strengths. Todoroki himself wasn’t the sweetest or friendliest out there, people just tended to overlook it because he was quiet about it. Bakugou’s brand of jackassery was harder to ignore.
But even the supposed jackassery was a result of improper observation. Bakugou was ten times the man Todoroki could ever be. Bakugou was a million times nicer, and more observant. More sacrificial and more caring. He just went about it in ways that were hard to understand.
Bakugou was the type to hear you mention your favorite flavor of Boba tea once and order it for you every time without you needing to ask. In the same situation, Todoroki would have been oblivious to the knowledge and forgotten all about your preferences. There were a few exceptions to this, Bakugou being one of them. Shouto knew exactly what the blonde wanted from the Ramen shop next door, how he preferred his coffee (double shot, one cream, no sugar), and what flavor of ice cream he wanted if he was allowing himself to indulge (strawberry). Midoriya and Momo were probably the only other people Todoroki could remember the preferences of if asked.
Bakugou was a unique brand of self-sacrificial, where he’d put his neck out for anyone, hero-related or not, because he knew he was stronger than the opponent and could take anything thrown at him. Most heroes were self-sacrificing in a martyr way. A “better me than them” way. Bakugou was self-sacrificial in a “you won’t be getting either of us” way. It was something that inspired Todoroki to act in multiple scenarios, aiming to be the same despite continuing falling short on the self confidence front.
Todoroki also knew Bakugou’s harsh words were hard to understand unless you damn near had a doctorate in Bakugou-nese. The blonde might say “get out of my way, extras.” But what he usually meant was “you can count on me. I’ve got this.” People always misunderstood his harsh words. This one Todoroki could understand though, because for a while he didn’t get it either. In fact, the only reason he ever figured it out was thanks to Midoriya, who had long since become fluent in the language and seemed to get some sort of entertainment out of poking the bear to further provoke him in his own native tongue. Todoroki had spent hours of his life watching the two of them egg each other on and it never got less entertaining. He may have even picked up a few tricks from Midoriya to poke the bear himself.
Bakugou appeared to be rash and impatient, running head first into fights without thinking first. But that wasn’t true at all. Honestly, that was more a testament to just how fast the blonde was. While most people were a few steps behind still formulating plans, Bakugou already had several strategies in mind and a back up plan or two to boot. He rushes in confident in his ability to win and his opponents don’t stand a chance without time to plan a counterattack.
But these were all things anyone could see if they looked a little closer. What they didn’t see was the nights Bakugou would stay up for hours, crying or panicked about a less ideal outcome or being outmatched in a fight. They didn’t see the way his confidence did a complete 180 outside of battle, as the blonde compared himself to anyone and everyone else. Especially Todoroki. Todoroki knew he was pretty damn good, but as mentioned before, he also acknowledged his own shortcomings. Todoroki was selfish and rash, rude and often underestimated opponents and teammates alike. He was working on all that, of course, but if anyone were to ask him, right now he’d say Bakugou was a far better hero and definitely en route to reach number one before him. Bakugou didn’t agree. Bakugou would see only Todoroki’s successes and deem himself a failure. Well, in a way. He also saw Todoroki’s failures and offered assistance to improve on future attempts, but for some reason the blonde forgot about those instances when feeling particularly inferior to his partner. Todoroki sure as hell wasn’t giving up, nor was he content to simply accept losing to the blonde, but he couldn’t delude himself into thinking they were on the same level. Todoroki had some serious improving to do if he wanted to win.
Bakugou was kind. Caring. Affectionate. Not so much in the physical sense, naturally. But Todoroki saw it in the way he’d walk slower if guiding the young or elderly somewhere. He saw it in the way he intently listened to the discussions of their peers while pretending not to be involved in the conversation. He saw it in the way Bakugou would chuck a water bottle at his friends’ faces after an intense fight. He witnessed it when their schedules conflicted, and Bakugou would be as quiet as possible to avoid waking Todoroki, oblivious to the fact that Todoroki’s own trauma made it impossible to sleep if he so much as felt the sheets shift. (That, at least, had gotten a little better since he’d started seeing the explosive blonde. He got a comfort out of knowing anyone who dared to fuck with them in their bed would be dying in a very painful manner). Bakugou could be in the midst of an intense battle, focused on his opponent and protecting civilians at the same time and still manage to shoot off an explosion to stop larger debris from hitting Todoroki off guard. And the blonde’s sixth sense for diet seemed to always just know if Todoroki had opted for junk food instead of a proper meal.
So, yeah. Maybe Bakugou was an ass if you only looked from 15 feet away. But one of the shortcomings Todoroki failed to address earlier was his unwillingness to share. Quite frankly, he didn’t care how misconstrued the others’ perception of Bakugou was. It meant Todoroki got to keep all the more intimate knowledge to himself.
“I don’t like him,” he finally responded, not looking up from the book he was reading. “I love him.”
