“Ok where is she? Do you know where they are? Yes she’s one of my students,” he said as Bakugo took three large strides, standing in front of his teacher

“What the hell is going on?” He growled as Aizawa tried to listen

“Yes I know where that is, send as much backup as you can and I’ll meet you there,” he said before hanging up his phone and turning on his heel

Bakugo ran in front of him, blocking his way

“That was about YN wasn’t it? Where the hell is she?” He shouted

“She was captured along with her mentor in the abandoned toy factory by the river,” Aizawa said as he ran past Bakugo and the others

His classmates watched as Bakugo began to seethe

“Bakugo, you need to calm down,” Mina said, slowly approaching him

However, Bakugo wasn’t listening.

He suddenly stormed out of the school, blasting himself towards the direction of the abandoned factory

“Rock, paper, scissors for who has to chase him?” Kirishima said looking at Midoriya

this is a continuation of my last story, I just can’t stop thinking about it, they’re so cute omg.

“I’m looking forward to it, y/n.”

“I am too, Katsuki.”

After that sweet interaction, Katsuki walked you to class. Engaging in casual conversation, just getting to know each other. “Okay so let’s do something really corny and dumb to get to know each other.” Katsuki raised an eyebrow. “Whad’ya mean?” He says. “Well, I was thinking we could play 20 questions? Except obviously it’ll be more than 20.” You explain with a giggle that makes Katsuki’s heart jump. “Yeah, that does sound fuckin’ dumb…but I’m down.” He said with a smirk. You rolled your eyes and gently nudged him with your shoulder.

When the two of you arrived to the classroom everyone’s eyes immediately went to you. “She’s so big”, “why is he walking with her?” “Ew do you think Bakugo likes her?” “No way right?” You heard all the comments and immediately felt anxious, out of place, ugly. To your surprise Katsuki heard them too, his fists were clenched so tightly his knuckles were white. He looked up to the people he heard talking shit. “I suggest you all keep your bullshit opinions to your fucking selves if you know what’s good for ya!” He shouted, his booming voice was gruff and laced with anger.

The room fell silent. Everyone had fearful looks in their eyes. You made your way to your seat, bakugo following behind and sitting next to you and his friends. “Ignore those dumbasses. They wouldn’t know what a real woman looks like if she killed ‘em.” You nod, trying to push the rude comments out of your mind. “Y-yeah…right.” You say softly. The lecture goes on and we’re dismissed to lunch. You and Bakugo walk to lunch rush’s eatery together talking and laughing as you go. You stand in line and get your food. “Hey, wanna go somewhere cooler for lunch?” You raise an eyebrow. “Like, where?” Bakugo nods his head toward the stairs and you follow in suit. You make our way to the roof, there’s nobody else up there, it’s quiet.

It’s a beautiful sunny day with a light breeze, perfect weather. You sit next to Bakugo and begin eating your lunch, a comfortable silence falls around you two. He can’t help but admire how your features look in the sunlight, your skin looks so soft, he can almost imagine how it would feel beneath his fingers. After a few minutes Bakugo speaks up. “So…20 dumbass questions? Wanna start it up here?” You chuckle softly before nodding. “Sure, we can start. Umm…what’s your favorite color?” Bakugo lets out a humorless laugh. “Seriously?” You shrug. “What? It’s a good first question!” He shakes his head chuckling softly. “It’s a fuckin’ empty question. But uh, I dunno…red. I guess.” You smile at his answer. “Red, huh? Makes sense.” He laughs and shakes his head. “How the hell does it make sense?” You begin explaining. “Well when I think of red I think of anger. Red is an angry color and you seem like an angry guy.” He furrows his brows. “I am not an angry guy!” He yells…angrily. You just laugh and shake your head. “Right…sure you’re not.”

Bakugo continues the questions. “Okay, my turn I guess. What is your favorite movie genre?” You perk up at the question, a giddy expression gracing your soft features. “Horror! I love horror movies.” He smirks. “Yeah? They ain’t too scary for ya?” You shrug. “I mean, I get scared for sure. But that’s what makes them fun to watch. It’s like a little adrenaline rush.” You explain happily. “Well…maybe we could watch one together sometime? I mean if you want to…I don’t really care either way, just uh…figured I’d ask.” You can’t help but chuckle at his nervous offer. “I’d love to watch a horror movie with you, Katsuki.” His first name leaving your lips always sends a shiver down his spine. Your voice is so sweet, he feels himself being more and more drawn to you as the day goes on.

After lunch the last few classes go by quickly, in the blink of an eye you’re back at the dorms. Sitting in the common area talking to everyone. Bakugo sits next to you on the couch, trying not to be creepily close but also not far enough away for someone to squeeze between you two. “Hey, kats.” You turn your head and smile. ‘Kats’ wow…you gave him a nickname. He felt his face heat up, butterflies swarming in his stomach and you’ve only said two words. He’s awestruck just staring into your big brown eyes. “Uh…kats?” He finally snaps out of it. “S-sorry. I uh..I zoned out. Kats, huh? We’re givin’ nicknames now?” He asks with a small smile. “Well, I thought it was cute. You can give me one if you’d like?” He wants so desperately to call you ‘baby’, or ‘love’, ‘sweetheart’, or ‘princess’ but alas, you’re not there yet. So with a deep breath he simply says. “Y/n” is too nice a name to shorten.”

Bakugo got a nice idea and nudged your arm. “You wanna watch a movie?” You smile brightly, making his chest tighten. “I’d love to!” He stands from the couch and walks toward his room. You feel your stomach twist in knots. ‘In his room? Oh god, oh fuck’ you think as you follow him inside. His room was very…man. Plain white sheets with a black bed spread, a small oscillating fan on his desk pointed toward his bed. His walls were littered with AllMight posters and framed photos of him and his friends. He had a small shelf above his bed with several trophies and medals he’d acquired throughout his academic/sports career. You walk around looking at everything, smiling at the photo of him and his mom, he was a grumpy baby too, pouting with a popsicle in his chubby little fist. He sits on his bed and pats the spot next to him, clicking on the tv.

You nervously sit down at the edge of the bed with your hands resting on your thighs. You hear a deep chuckle. “Dude. You think I’m gonna hurt ya or somethin’? You can get comfortable.” He says, looking at you with an amused grin. “Okay…r-right.” You say moving closer, sitting next to him and resting your back against his headboard. He scrolls through Netflix’s horror selection. “Anything good on here?” You smile and point at ‘the last shift’. “That one is really good. It’s like psychological horror, my favorite kind, personally.” He nods and presses play. You glance over at him before leaning down and pulling at the blanket, he’s still laying on top of it. “You cold?” You nod. “A bit..” He moves his legs and pulls the blanket up over your bodies, you slide down a bit and pull it up to your shoulders, feeling cozy while watching the movie.

You watch the movie intently, despite having seen it several times you still jump at some of the spooky parts, you even cover your eyes a few times, earning a soft chuckle from the man next to you. “Scared?” You shake your head. “No way! Just uh…cold.” He leans down a bit closer. “I can protect you, don’t worry.” With a deep breath he takes a leap of faith, wrapping his arm around your shoulders, he holds his breath awaiting your reaction. To his delight you scoot closer, resting your head on his chest and your hand on his stomach, you sigh contentedly at his body heat warning you up. “You’re like a breathing heater. It’s so nice.” He chuckles, rubbing your back gently. “I’m glad I can warm you up…so uh…wanna continue with our questions?” You look up at him through your lashes. “Yeah, sure we can.” You say before resting your head again.

In the midst of our cuddle/question session Denki barges into the room. “Bakubro come hang- oh. OH! okay, buddy I see you!” Bakugo goes to speak but you beat him to it, sitting up quickly. “Get out of here, sparkplug! Can’t you see he’s busy?!” Denki’s eyes widen and he quickly runs out shutting the door behind him. You lay back down and nuzzle into bakugos chest. He was in awe, his eyes wide, his jaw slack. “You’re…so hot.” You laugh loudly, your cheeks tinged with pink. ���Sorry, sorry…I’m just enjoying our time together…I also hate interruptions.” You say hiding your face. He grabs your chin and makes you look up at him. “I could kiss you right now…” Your eyes widen, a surge of confidence bursts in your chest. “What’s stopping you?” He smirks and leans in, planting a soft kiss to your lips, you melt into it but it’s over almost as soon as it begins. You open your eyes, sticking your bottom lip out childishly as you pout. “That’s it?”

“What d’ya mean “that’s it”? You…want more?” You shrug and climb onto his lap, straddling him, causing his breath to hitch in his throat. “I mean…I wouldn’t mind more.” You say, looking into his crimson eyes. “I’m not saying we should do anything…crazy. But…” he raises an eyebrow. “Crazy? Define crazy.” You blush furiously. “Come on…you know what I mean..” He scoffs. “You’re already on my lap, how much crazier are we talking? I wanna hear you say it…” You lean in and kiss him again, making him shut up instantly.

“Maybe you’ll find out next time we’re alone…” He bites his lip, blushing at your words. “I’m looking forward to it…princess.”

the next time those happy little bells rang at 4:56, bakugo came, but so did someone else. it was another man, dressed more casually than bakugo, and a few inches shorter, maybe two or three. he exuded an air of bright happiness, somewhat like a ray of sunshine in human form.

he had hair like bakugo’s, wild and sticking out in many places. however, it seemed more purposeful; you could see the gel that kept his hair that way. he had red eyes, but they were much softer than bakugo’s, and weren’t stuck in a constant state of glaring. he was smiling, looking curiously around the store. he had a snaggletooth.

“you brought a friend, bakugo?” you smile as the two approach the counter.

“he’s a dumbass.” bakugo replied bluntly.

“i’m kirishima.” the red-haired man laughed. “so you’re the barista i’ve heard about?”

“you’ve heard of me?” you raise an eyebrow.

“yup, bakugo’s told me all about you.” kirishima chuckled.

“did not.” bakugo snapped. “i said she’s the annoying-ass extra who makes my goddamn coffee.”

“you said more than that.” kirishima countered. bakugo scowled.

“shut the fuck up, shitty hair.”

“your hair’s just like mine, y’know.” kirishima raised an eyebrow.

“can i get you guys any drinks? medium black coffee for bakugo, i assume?” you smile, stifling your own laughter.

“yeah.” bakugo grunted.

“i’ll have a coffee, too, but with cream and sugar, please.” kirishima said politely.

“of course.” you hum, ringing them up. “coming right up.” you give them their total— they pay separately— and bakugo walks to his seat. kirishima follows. it’s clear from the way they interact that kirishima’s known him for awhile. yet, you can’t shake the feeling that you’ve seen him before.

“so, are you a pro hero too?” you ask kirishima as you give them their coffees. bakugo sips his as kirishima answers.

“yup. red riot. i’m number 5 on the hero rankings right now.” kirishima smiled. that explained it. you’d seen him in interviews with bakugo.

“ah, i see. i don’t follow heroes much, so i’m sorry i didn’t recognize you.” you apologize. kirishima waves it off.

“no worries. bakugo already told me about that.”

“he did?”

“yeah!” kirishima grinned. “he said that—“

“shut your fucking mouth.” bakugo’s eye twitched as his hands sparked.

“alright, man.” kirishima held his hands up in surrender.

“no explosions in the store.” you chide, half kidding but also half worrying for the general well-being of your precious workplace and praying it doesn’t go up in flames.

“yeah, yeah, i know.” bakugo rolled his eyes. “i’m not that damn reckless.”

“if you say so.” you hum teasingly.

“fuck you.” bakugo spat.

“refill, kirishima?” you change the subject. “on the house.”

“oh! yeah, sure.” kirishima smiled, passing his empty mug to you, which you then took and proceeded to refill. “are you sure, though? i’m totally down to pay for it.”

“it’s your first time here, don’t worry about it.” you wave a hand dismissively.

“thanks!” kirishima beamed.

“no problem.” you hummed. “bakugo? do you need a refill?”

“no.” bakugo took another sip.

“you’re quiet today.” you remark. “how was work?”

“shit.” bakugo replied bluntly.

“the usual shit or especially shitty?” you hum.

“the usual.” bakugo clicked his tongue. “shitty sidekicks and pathetic villains.”

“i see.” you hum. “kirishima? how was work for you?”

“i saved a lot of people, so i’d consider it pretty good.” kirishima beamed.

“that’s fantastic.” you smile back at him.

“yeah. the coffee’s great, by the way.” kirishima said.

“thank you.” that kirishima. he was so different from bakugo. he was incredibly sweet and polite; definitely someone who attracts people, kind of like a magnet. you’d love to be friends with him and bakugo— though, technically, you thought of bakugo as a sort-of friend already, although you weren’t sure what his stance on it was. you resolved to make an effort to befriend these men.

“so, do you have an agency, too?” you ask curiously. “i understand bakugo has one of his own.” bakugo’s lips twitched into a smug smirk, his agency clearly a source of pride for him.

“yup.” kirishima grinned. “we just got a new building, actually. we’re renovating it right now.”

“that’s so cool!” you exclaim. “where is it?”

“a couple blocks from bakugo’s, actually.” kirishima glanced around. “y’know, i’m surprised you don’t get more business, given how close this place is to bakugo’s agency.”

“there’s a bigger one that’s right next to it,” you explain. “so people usually go there instead.”

“right, i forgot about that.” kirishima chuckled good-naturedly. “but you’ve got bakugo now, huh?”

“shut it, shitty hair.” bakugo glared at kirishima.

“and you, if you like the coffee enough.” you joke. kirishima laughed.

“i wish i could. but i’m usually on patrol when bakugo comes in. i took today off, though, because mina— pinky— is having a party tonight as her place.” kirishima explained. his face lit up as he got an idea. “hey, you should come!” bakugo looked up from his coffee, startled.

“me?” you blink, taken aback by the sudden invitation. “oh, that’s okay, i wouldn’t want to intrude..”

“she said ‘invite anyone and everyone.’” kirishima pulled out his phone, showing you the texts between him and who you assumed was mina. it did indeed say “invite anyone and everyone, ei. people u saved. people on the street. sweet old ladies. waiters at restaurants. everyone.”

“are you sure?” you ask, still hesitant.

“yeah!” kirishima smiled. “mina’s wanted to meet you anyway.”

“i feel famous now.” you chuckle. kirishima laughed with you as bakugo glared at kirishima furiously.

“who the fuck did you tell?!” he demanded. kirishima only smiled.

“just the squad.”

“quit calling it the squad.”

“that’s what the group chat’s called, man. the bakusquad.”

“the- the bakusquad?” you sputter out, nearly choking on your laughter.

“our friends,” kirishima explained. “it’s okay, though. mina would’ve found out anyway, bakugo knows that. so, are you in?” bakugo looked pissed, but not in the way that he’d take action over it.

“only if you’re sure i won’t be intruding.” you sigh with a smile.

“positive.”

“what time is it? and where? and how do i dress for it?” you ramble, to which kirishima chuckled.

“it’s at 8,” kirishima began. “and you can dress however—“

“gimme your phone.” bakugo grunted, holding his hand out unexpectedly. you blink.

“huh?”

“hand it over.” bakugo snapped. “so i can put my number in your phone to send you the damn address.”

“woah, man, i thought you weren’t g-“ bakugo interrupted kirishima.

“shut up.” the blond snapped as you pulled your phone out of your apron, unlocked it, opened the messenger app, and handed it to bakugo as per his request. bakugo grumbled as he typed his number in. his contact name was GREAT EXPLOSION MURDER GOD DYNAMIGHT. all caps. you stifled a snicker as bakugo sent you the address from his own phone.

“thanks.” you smile as kirishima watched the interaction, seemingly amused by something.

“whatever.”

“we can pick you up if you want.” kirishima offered.

“oh, that would be great,” you reply, thankful that getting lost wouldn’t be on the agenda for tonight.

“alright. where do you live?” kirishima asked, listening closely as you told him. “okay, so that’s only ten minutes from mina’s. we’ll get you at 7:45ish, sound good?”

“sounds good.”

“woah, man, i thought you weren’t g-“

“shut up.”

He needed to get to you

Not going to lie I actually always meant to write more for Izuku??? I've actually had a decent amount of ideas for him because like, he already has habits that you can tweak ever so slightly and boom he's a lil yandere simp, drooling over you as he watches you from a distance and doodling into his lil notebook. He gives "hello mommy I love you so much and would die for you let's get married ❤️" energy but he's also feral enough that like. Could easily imagine him as one of those sweet tiny dudes who has a third leg and Fucks Severely. Like to be honest I'm a bottom as fuck and have always likes taller partners but certain personality types just deliver what is needed lmao. Like I've kinda unlocked a thing for having something smaller than you partner wise especially like that holds you down extremely easily, like the helplessness of it? Idk like in hentai where chicks get surrounded by like little tiny extremely strong but hugely dicked goblins, like not always that small obviously but you kind get the gist. Imagine an adult Izuku being shorter than you and younger than you and you think he's so passive and sweet or you think he's an annoying little boy and try to brush him off, and suddenly he's got you up against a wall hugging you so tight you can't shove him off and you're met with like the horror you can't overpower him by ANY means. And the whole time he's just like OuO sweet and smiling and just this secretly heinous little sex fiend who can easily fold you like a pretzel

But I will admit those two would work fairly well for this formula 😳 hm. The gears are turning. I dunno... hmm.....

Let's look at it from this angle. Bakugou is probably one of those Emperors that either killed all his brothers and took the throne by force, was his father's only child and usurped him, or maybe was a nobleman or high ranking soldier who became Emperor by wiping out the royal family. Just typical domination by overwhelming force kind of guy. Known as a somewhat of a savage albeit with amazing tactics skill and talented in warfare and combat. And then Midoriya is. Hm. Maybe a childhood friend or whatever but tbh I'm just kind of imagining him as this lil hippy thang that dresses in white and soft colors, I wouldn't say femboy per say but, maybe a little lmao. Katsuki sitting at his desk stamping documents and then here's Izuku bringing him tea and snack cakes and Bakugo is still like, a little rough, but nicer to him then he is to you lmao

But I just cannot imagine the like absolutely infuriating scenario of 1. Being stuck with Bakugo against your will in a political marriage 2. Having to perform duties you may not even be remotely interested in, for example tradtionally the Empress manages the other harem women who are often high ranking nobility but she's also not allowed to get involved in politics, so like, you influence but not much actual power of your own 3. He's not even a nice fucking person, like in this scenario you literally struggle to think of his good qualities that don't inevitably circle back to him being a brute 4. You're expected to have children with him and 5. On top of having to share him with other women, one of his concubines is a man who is essentially tries to guilt trip and pressure you into loving Bakugo

I remember in "I'm Divorcing My Tyrant Husband", which is kind of an infuriating read and idk if I would recommend it, the cruel tyrant Emperor doesn't respect his Empress because she's too nice and I imagine Bakugo, depending on what mood you're going for, would either be a condescending 'oh you're so weak and delicate, what use is there for you, worthless crybaby' OR 'you're so delicate therefore you must be kept like a precious caged animal where no harm can come to you like a beautiful rose encased in glass so it cannot wilt'

Bakugo would definitely be one of those characters who you constantly have massive 'misunderstandings' with, 'misunderstandings' translating to 'this guy is constantly a massive fucking asshole who doesn't properly communicate for shit' and Izuku is always trying to tell you how he "really" feels but since its never Katsuki himself you could care less. Like for example, an idea I can imagine for him is something like, Reader has a precious garden she takes care of day and night, while gardening you get bitten by a viper that was hiding in the brush, you get extremely ill, the next time you wake up and have recovered your entire garden is gone because he tore everything out and you're devastated because it feels like you've been punished for falling sick when his intention was to completely overturn your garden in case there were more vipers (which, to his credit there were, but you don't even care because you actively encouraged animals to take homes in your garden and now it's all ruined)

i consider this fic my love letter to bakugo 🥺

i say that because, i think this fic will bear a lot of how i view bakugo under the themes of regret and reconciliation (something i really want to explore with him!) & i think the exes to lovers trope lends well to that!!

it's set in canon, so pro-hero!au (because idt i'm very creative with au's 🤧) & takes place around his mid-20's! you start dating fresh off ua after working together during an internship. there's definitely a connection, and bakugo definitely has a crush, but of course he's not going to say anything—even when everything about your dynamic is shifting into something more than just friends.

you admit to the feelings first, but don't put a label on it, convincing him that nothing really has to change anyway from how you've already been acting. bakugo can't take the ambiguity though, and probably says something like 'so we datin' or sum shit?'.

then he breaks up with you 2 years later. it's a lot of things piled up til the trigger point and what sucks is that it's all him. there's nothing really wrong with the relationship—in fact, it's good. but there are a lot of things he still regrets, and even more things he hasn't fully forgiven himself for. he projects that a lot onto the relationship and where it's going, and he just thinks, he won't be good for it, or you.

you respect it, and the saddest part is you still work closely together so you see each other a lot and the dynamic is still so good. as in, he passes you by the hall and his shoulders relax, the creases between his brows smoothening by memory—your habit of flattening them down with your fingertips. and it goes on like this for a few years as he attempts to work through things on his own (in a way, he's kinda forced himself to confront everything) until it's an achingly slow realisation that there's still something missing (you).

sidestory! i was actually just contemplating on scrapping this entire thing, bc i didn't feel super confident with my grasp on him and the direction i wanted to take w his characterisation (especially since i think he'll be mellower, maybe a bit sadder and frustrated instead of angrier?). but!! i think, there's a lot to unpack with him, and i feel like i tend to gravitate towards the softer parts of a character when i write them anyway 🥺🤧 i am hoping!! crossing my fingers!! that i bring justice to writing him this way 🥺

this idea came from a set of songs i put in a playlist bc they felt very ~ex-bkg (whatever that meant at the time 😭) but this is probably what's influencing the tone too sdjhgbadj
