I love their relationship so much #luz really went from calling Lilith a bitch in the only way the disney channel would allow to being like. okay she's pathetic #in the first few episodes of season 2 and then by elsewhere and elsewhen when Lilith is visibly doing better luz is so supportive #of like. her new job and hobbies and stuff #and Lilith is still the same cringe fail slug woman we all know and love but she cares about Luz!#she wants to help her and share her interests with her!#they're so lame together and I adore them soooo much. adhd and autism best friends forever (real)#this was a quick doodle that i put way too mucn effort into colouring and posing wise to not post #I'm proud of the shading not bc it's especially intricate or pretty #but because the process was entirely me colour picking each individual colour and futzing with it until i got coherent shading #it's not something i do often but i love to practice it cause i feel like it improves my colour sense #and also allows me to micro manage the palette #like how Luz's azura outfit and the inside of her mouth and Lilith's skin are all the same shade of off-white #BUT i gave Lilith's a warmer shading tone (bc it's skin and has blood beneath it) while Luz's teeth has a yellow shading cast #(since that's the colour teeth turn w/o enamel and most ppls teeth is a yellowy off-white anyway) and then Luz's outfit has a teal cast!#bc i wanted white fabric to look different to pale white skin or teeth #that's such a niche thing to have fun doing and appreciate abt my own work but like. it's there!#I'm not a master of colour by any means it's just nice to be able to do that

Aaaand here's my other TWST OC Azura Heron as well as a closeup of her coffin icon that I am very proud of! She, like my MC Mia, was also made in the Djarn Picrew, but I edited her hair to make it darker so it'd match her wings more. (I did my best to make her as close to how I have her in my head as possible.) She actually has feathers that function as part of her hair and are pretty much two-toned like her wings, so pretend she has them. (All avian fae have hair feathers that match their wings.)

Azura makes her 'debut' around the first Fairy Gala since she and three of her close friends were asked to attend in order to form better relations between the small fairies and the reclusive avian fae. Which means they see Leona and the squad doing their thing and are distracted like everyone else. This is also around the time that she meets Malleus again for a bit before the Gala actually starts, and then a couple more times after it's over due to a happenstance that I'll probably be posting about in the near future. But it does end pretty well. :3

#the owl house #listen. i have SOOO many thoughts on the narrative weight of the azura books #and how it's a casual reminder of how important representation is. luz gets to see herself as a witch #fighting evil and saving the day #and this character also has a queer-coded relationship with her female rival #which undoubtedly helps luz as a young bi girl as well!!!#and also cosmic frontier like... it's a bit more of a joke but still #hunter finding comfort and solace in a character going through the same things as him. gus not forcing the grimwalker topic #and instead trying to help hunter come to terms with his identity in a gentler way. AND the captain of the ship in cosmic frontier is black #just like gus. i know rep probably isn't a problem in the boiling isles #since yknow. bigotry-free fantasy world and all #but it definitely is in the human realm! and it's good for gus to get what he can there. yknow?#also the reason i say it's a ds9 reference in particular is just cause i'm a stan. it's an educated guess.#point 1: it features a black captain called avery. ds9 has a black captain played by a man called avery.#point 2: it features a chief engineer called o'bailey. ds9's chief engineer is called o'brien. same kind of irish name.#point 3: it was written in the 90s like how ds9 aired in the 90s :]

just turned in an assignment with the disclaimer "sorry, the autism ran wild this one" at the top

#eliot posts #the assignment: ten sentence minimum #me: do you mean thousand word essay?#teacher told us to write about the clothing/design of 2 characters in any show we liked and how that represented them #so naturally i chose luz and how her initial outfit distinguishes her as a human outsider on the boiling isles #but how she gains elements to her designs in other episodes that show a connection to both worlds #and amity and how her hair represents her breaking free of her mother's control #and how her default outfit for s1 and s2 has a pretty similar silhouette to the school uniforms #and also their grom outfits but especially luz #i didn't even get to TOUCH ON luz's azura costume in s3 #or amity's necklace #or so so many other things i wanted to be autistic about #over a thousand words was my CONDENSED VERSION #ah well the prof said shes autistic herself so i hope she understands
