I enthusiastically jump out of my bed and sprint over to my Board of Theories ™ about TPC1

And The Black Beyond’s melody being linked to Dream a Dream all the way back from MHWWC…the wanderer mentioning narratives, Chaostrophe- POSTCARDS FROM PERDITION TRAIL (just realized it has a similar melody to that as well), I HEAR IT NOW!! yess this further proves that this all links back to Mary and the AI’s!

“I now by know…obvious resemblance is deter” FURTHER PROVES ITS UNCLE RAVEN GUYS, trust me on this one!! It all makes sense..Chaostrophe..narratives..TanSan..William (Wanderer says Liam in the song, Liam could be short for William)..Strands

But what does this all mean?

Let’s recap what we have here (and my current theories)

-Narrator is linked to Han-Mi in some way, or knows about her. How else would you explain TBB and DaD having a similar melody?

-Jenna is from Xandoria, a setting that RESULTED from Han-Mi’s narrations!

-all the way back in DoNA there’s a line about having one eye, guess who is mentioned in the first line of The Puppetshades? “a drunk one eyed spacer”

-now I’ve seen other theories about Micheal being related to the Puppetshades that I won’t get in to right now, but if you are intrigued you can find that here on tumblr if you really search for it

-anyways, the Razzhis are related to the VoodooPunks somehow

-I forget where it’s mentioned, I found it on the wiki, but The Lost Ones are the same as Crimson Rose’s people

-The Meme is somehow connected to Cindi Lou, or Cindi Lou somehow knows of The Meme

-As previously stated The Wanderer is Uncle Raven, there are various points others, including myself, have brought up to support this theory (although I highly suggest looking at others theories as I am not as well versed in the Shaleraverse Lore as others)

-Act 2 of TPC will link to the dwarves (I just know that that is the reason no one will go deep down in the mines)

-at least 1 of the 3 alive at the end of Act 1 will have flowered and discovered posthuman abilities (maybe..chances are very slim but it would definitely be cool!)

the soft vibrations startle you in the quiet hum of the library. people look towards you, some annoyed, some with no particular expression on their faces. dead inside.

your phone buzzes with a text, making you groan because you'd have to pull yourself out of the position you're currently in. you do it anyways, and see that seungcheol had sent you a text.

when you return an hour later, it's with much reluctance that seungcheol says he should leave. but then he pouts every half minute after muttering his decision.

"do you wanna stay over tonight?" you offer, knowing fully well he would never reject. he doesnt even hear the whole question before he's kicking off his shoes and entering your room. you head over to your wardrobe to take out some of his clothes he'd left behind at various points of your relationship and bring it to him. when he's done freshening up, he comes out to see you settling back into your cocoon, head deep in the books. he decides to keep company as he lays on the bed, scrolling through his phone.

seungcheol had fallen asleep some multiple times in between keeping you silent company, but when he wakes up now, he's full awake and shocked to see you still sitting at your desk, now with some snack packets littering around. he decides to walk over and call you to bed, but that's when he notices that your eyes are half-closed and your head hanging in a way that makes him wince. drool almost makes its way down your chin before he takes a tissue and wipes it off. he gently nudges you awake.

"yn, baby. you need to get to bed. come on now."

he's honestly surprised when you easily comply, maybe because of your half-asleep state, because usually you'd reject and sit for some time more. the walk that he'd planned to tire you out had worked, he thinks to himself, as he supports your asleep body to your bed and lays you down, tucking you in the soft, weighted blanket - your favourite - before settling in beside you.

as he drifts back to sleep, he hears you murmur to him.

"seungie, wake me up early tomorrow, okay?"

Child Labour in the British Industrial Revolution

Children were widely used as labour in factories, mines, and agriculture during the British Industrial Revolution (1760-1840). Very often working the same 12-hour shifts that adults did, children as young as five years old were paid a pittance to climb under dangerous weaving machines, move coal through narrow mine shafts, and work in agricultural gangs.

It was very often the case that children's jobs were well-defined and specific to them, in other words, child labour was not merely an extra help for the adult workforce. The education of many children was replaced by a working day, a choice often made by parents to supplement a meagre family income. It was not until the 1820s that governments began to pass laws that restricted working hours and business owners were compelled to provide safer working conditions for everyone, men, women, and children. Even then a lack of inspectors meant many abuses still went on, a situation noted and publicised by charities, philanthropists, and authors with a social conscience like Charles Dickens (1812-1870).

A Lack of Education

As sending a child to school involved paying a fee – even the cheapest asked for a penny a day – most parents did not bother. Villages often had a small school, where each pupil's parents paid the teacher, but attendance was sometimes erratic and more often than not the education rudimentary in hopelessly overcrowded classes. There were some free schools run by charities, and churches often offered Sunday school. Not until 1844 were there more free schools available, such as the Ragged schools established by Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 7th Earl of Shaftesbury (1801-1885). These schools concentrated on the basics, what became known as the 3 Rs of Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. Compulsory education for 5 to 12-year-olds, and the institutions necessary to provide it, would not come along until the 1870s. Consequently, "at least half of nominally school-age children worked full-time during the industrial revolution" (Horn, 57).

Some factory owners were more generous than others to the children in their employ. An example is the Quarry Bank Mill in Styal in the county of Cheshire. Here the owner provided schooling after the long working day was over for 100 of its child workers in a dedicated building, the Apprentice House.

An indicator of better education, despite all the difficulties, is literacy rates, rather imperfectly measured by historians by recording the ability of a person to sign one's name on official documents such as marriage certificates. There was a great improvement in literacy, but by 1800, still only half of the adult population could sign their name to such documents.

For those children who could find work in the Industrial Revolution, and there were employers queueing up to offer it, there were no trade unions to protect them. For the vast majority of children, working life started at an early age – on average at 8 years old – but as nobody really cared about age, this could vary wildly. Working involved at best tedium and at worst an endless round of threats, fines, corporal punishment, and instant dismissal at any protest to such treatment. In one survey taken in 1833, it was found that the tactics used with child labourers were 95% negative. Instant dismissal accounted for 58%. In only 4% of cases was a reward given for good work, and a mere 1% of the strategies used involved a promotion or pay rise.
