            I couldn’t help but sigh for the nth time as I squeezed my eyes shut tightly, chest tightening the longer I stared at my notebooks. It felt like nothing was going my way anymore, like everything was falling apart. I couldn’t define the tipping point of it all, but everything was starting to become too much. The stress, every new day brought more challenges without an obvious solution. The assignments felt like they were only adding up more and more, overtaking every thought of mine and only inducing more stress. Things started to become overbearing, I started feeling like a failure. There was a constant pressure on my chest, threatening, about to burst just at a simple innocent glance thrown my way by a stranger. I ignored it as best as I could, the thoughts and emotions, but it was getting harder day by day. It didn’t help that after a misunderstanding, my boyfriend wasn’t talking to me…everything just felt too much. Like I was overstimulated without a concrete reason, and not even my friends could help anymore. It felt lonely, it felt cold, and it felt downright depressing. It was fine as long as I wasn’t at home, as long as I wasn’t left on my own with my loud thoughts making me feel even more miserable.

It's been three days since we’ve spoken, Mingi and I, and it was maddening. I knew this didn’t mean the end of our relationship, but I never took it well when he was upset because of me. Especially when he was the one to pull away, to give me the cold shoulder. Especially not right now, when all I wished for was to curl up by his side and inhale his familiar cologne, closing my eyes and relaxing into my boyfriend’s arms. I needed him here, and I knew he needed his space when upset, but I felt like being selfish and just texting him. If the tears in my eyes weren’t proof enough that I was seriously on the verge of breaking, then I don’t know what else was. I sniffed loudly and pushed my notebooks aside, blood boiling just at the simple sight of them. It’s those damned notes which were making me feel like this, and the impeding feeling of failure, of failing another important class and never finishing this wrenched course and university altogether. It was frightening, and I didn’t want to be alone anymore. My friends were always a text away, but my body was craving the warmth of my boyfriend, my soul was yearning for his. I didn’t want to be alone anymore, and I didn’t want to drown and wallow in this horrible feeling anymore. I needed the love of my life next to me.

Quickly wiping my tears clean from my eyes, I adjusted my glasses on the bridge of my nose and unlocked my phone, noticing that I had gotten a notification from Instagram. At the beginning of our relationship, which was quite a few years ago, Mingi and I had set each other’s accounts to send notifications when one of us posted, being madly in love and eager to see what the other was up to. Despite the passing of time, and of our emotions only deepening, we never turned the setting off, and I was surprised to find a notification from his personal page. With another sniff, I clicked on the app and was presented with ten images of my boyfriend, out and about, enjoying his day. His black hair was fluffy and not necessarily styled, but the messy look always fit him extraordinarily. His bare face looked healthy, and it had a nice shine to it under the lightning of the place he was at, and I couldn’t help but sniff again as I scrolled through the pictures, trying to ignore the fact that the blue and greyish sweater he wore was a gift from me for his birthday two years ago. And perhaps the tears wouldn’t have sprung free from my eyes if it weren’t for that video in which he was dancing to the music softly playing in the background, locking and popping in tiny as he grinned and chuckled. Mingi was a dance major with a minor in music, and he was living his best possible life at the moment. He was happy and content with where he was at, and it always brought so much joy to my soul, but seeing him enjoying himself while I was wallowing in self-pity certainly set off an uncontrollable amount of tears and ugly gasps for air. It made me happy that he was doing okay, but seeing him made me miss him terribly, and I couldn’t help but close my phone and lay down on my bed, curling up into a ball as I cried into my pillow.

This crying session was really due time, the emotions bundled up for way too long now, but it still felt horrible that I had to try and push the feeling of loneliness away and comfort myself, while foolishly trying to smell Mingi’s cologne since I was wearing his oversized blouse. The only problem was that I had stolen it from him a long time ago and it didn’t carry his cologne anymore, it had my scent, and that just made me gasp for air as my heart clenched more, making me miss him even more. And perhaps if it weren’t for the sobs increasing in volume and the self-wallowing I was so focused on, I would’ve noticed or heard the jiggle of keys and the opening of the front door. But I was too busy ripping my glasses off my head and throwing them behind me, rubbing the heels of my palms roughly against my eyes and trying to calm my irregular breathing as my throat finally seemed to ease up, my chest somewhat lighter than before. But I knew the crying session wasn’t over, it was just a matter of time until another strong wave of sadness and yearning would hit me, sending me into another fit of ugly sobs. I just couldn’t help it, it felt like the world around me was falling apart and I couldn’t do anything about it, just let it ruin me in the process.

But as I pushed myself back up into a sitting position and rubbed the snot off my face with the sleeve of my blouse, I heard footsteps outside of my door, startling me. Very few people had keys to my apartment. Like my parents, bestest friend and…well, Mingi. We didn’t live together yet, we were planning on moving in together soon, but both of us had keys to each other’s apartments. And I knew it couldn’t have been my parents as they live five hours away and never visit on weekdays, neither could it be my best friend as she was away on a two-week business trip with her work colleagues. And that could only mean…that it was Mingi. And almost as if sensing my confused state, the door to my room opened and Mingi stood in the doorway, dressed and looking the same as in the pictures.

“Hey, I—baby?” His raspy voice was quiet and his eyebrows furrowed when his eyes fell on me. I sniffed loudly, frozen for a second, until another wave of yearning and loneliness hit hard, making me cry again as I stared at my boyfriend helplessly, “Oh my God, what’s wrong?”

He rushed inside, almost tripping over his feet, but made it to the bed safely and before he could really as much as reach out for me, I sprung forward and jumped on his lap, wrapping my limbs around him like a koala. Mingi grunted in surprise due to the sudden attack, but his arms were instantly wrapped around my middle as I held onto him tightly, hiding my face in his warm neck as I tried to control my breathing and stop the tears. He was here now; I wasn’t alone anymore. I had him and I would always have him, no matter what. His body was warm and soft against mine, so familiar as it engulfed mine into his, Mingi’s nose nuzzling against the top of my head as I slipped my fingers through his soft hair, sighing contently at the feeling of being held. In his arms, it was always as if the world disappeared, like it was just the two of us, like nothing and nobody could hurt us. He’s been the one and only man to ever make me feel like that, and it made me think quite often how lucky I was to have found such person. And Mingi’s sweet, yet musky scent finally made my sobs settle into loud sniffs, arms tightening around his neck involuntarily as if I was afraid he’d leave.

“Baby?” Mingi’s voice was small, almost afraid, as I felt a kiss pressed against the top of my head as he shifted, bringing us higher up on the bed as he held me close against himself.

“I missed you,” I croaked out, lips trembling slightly, “so much, Mingi.”

“I’m sorry.” Mingi whispered, letting out a heavy sigh, “I shouldn’t have ignored you for three days, that was shitty of me. Why are you crying? What happened?”

I sighed and shrugged lightly, “I don’t know, I just—”

I chewed on my bottom lip, letting the silence stretch on as Mingi carefully cupped my cheeks and raised my head up, our faces close to each other as we stared in each other’s eyes. Mingi’s sharp eyes were soft and filled with so much worry, that it made me pout as I tried to put my jumbled thoughts into words, “I don’t know. Things got too much; I suppose. The classes and assignments, the fear that I won’t finish my dissertation in time, and you then getting upset…I’ve been feeling under the weather for quite a while now, actually. I guess I just broke today.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Mingi’s expression was sour and it made me feel guilty as I looked away from his eyes, following the sharp bridge of his nose, well defined and tall. I shrugged, getting comfortable in his lap as I laced my fingers together around his neck, Mingi’s warm and big hands settling on my hips.

“You worry a lot about me, Mingi, I didn’t want to burden you again with something so insignificant—”

“Your wellbeing is very significant to me, Y/N, and you know that.” His voice had an edge to it as his grip slightly tightened against me, his own lips forming a pout. I stared at him for a few seconds before sniffing again, eyes taking in his tan face, his dark and warm eyes, the mole under his eye and on his jaw, and his plush lips. I had missed him dearly.

“I know.” I mumbled and looked back into his eyes when Mingi pulled our bodies flushed together, leaning ahead to nudge his nose against mine, his breath tickling my face. I couldn’t help the small smile that appeared on my lips, and I averted my eyes shyly as Mingi chuckled.

“I’m not upset anymore.” He said, licking his lips before bopping his nose against mine again, “And you’re too stressed to study more today.”

My lips pulled into a tight line as I hummed, shoulders sagging a little, but Mingi suddenly grinned incredibly wide, his uneven and protruding front teeth showing, a little ‘imperfection’ I adored way too much about him. His eyes suddenly held an exited glint in them and I couldn’t help but feel intrigued, raising my eyebrows in question at him.

“I brought you your favorite cake, as an apology.” He bit his lower lip as his cheeks lightly flushed, “But the weather is really nice today and I think some fresh air will do you good.”

“What are you suggesting?” I asked as I leaned forward, resting my chin on his left shoulder as I hugged him tightly.

“We drive out to our favorite spot by the waterfall and have a little picnic, we can pick up some food on the way, and then drive around aimlessly after the sun sets.” There was a short pause and a low hum coming from deep within Mingi’s chest, “How does that sound?”

New tears gathered in my eyes, but not for the previous reasons I was crying about not even twenty minutes ago. My chest was filled to the brim and my heart was beating fast and loudly in my ears, filling me with warmth and so much love that I felt like I would burst. Mingi always knew what I needed, he was always there for me, he always provided whatever he could best. I chuckled quietly and sniffed loudly again, nodding my head wordlessly before I pulled back and looked him in the eyes, a smile stretching onto my lips.

“I love you.”

Mingi’s giggle was deep and low, rolling his eyes playfully as if he tried to brush off those words, but unable to do so, “And I love you.”

I closed my eyes and leaned forward, closing the small gap between our lips as I pressed a soft, but lingering kiss against Mingi’s soft and warm lips. He tasted like the watermelon chapstick I have given him while we were on vacation, his lips chapped from the salty ocean air. And everything suddenly felt in place, I found serenity within myself as Mingi kissed back eagerly but softly, his lips capturing mine between his as his large palm melted into my lower back. Being in his arms and feeling him against myself brought a sense of security and contentment, of acceptance, and want that only Mingi could provide. His teeth lightly grazed against my lower lip as he nipped at it before just slightly pulling back, pressing his forehead against mine as he nuzzled his nose against the skin of my cheek, making me flush at the endearing gesture.

“I assume that’s a yes, then.” I chuckled and pressed a swift kiss against Mingi’s lips again.

“Yes, love of my life, let’s go.” I knew the nickname always flustered Mingi, making him call me cheesy. But this time he said nothing as he giggled quietly, scrunching his nose and squeezing his eyes shut in a cute manner, making my cheeks hurt from how widely I was smiling at him.

Astrology observations part 6. 🪽

- siblings were their signs are in the same element tend to be closer because of their same nature ( a friend of mine is a Sagittarius and her little sister is Aries and I haven’t seen these two arguing or being awful to each other EVER in fact they support and love each other sooo much)

- again speaking of music…earth placements are the least experimental with their taste in music. They have found what works for them and they stick with it forever. (my Capricorn bestie listen to 3 genres my cancer sun bestie who has Virgo placements listens only to limited stuff and doesn’t know almost all of the iconic artists)

- Aries moon as kids they were getting angry for the most unnecessary reasons. It’s a fire moon thingy 💅🏻

I have one of my favorite fics still missing and i honestly can’t fully recall if it’s yours but i hope it is, but it was one where Lonqu gets possessed and hurts robin, the tie him to post and he’s all angry and sad that he hurt his wife. Something like that

You had seen soldiers get possessed before. It was becoming a popular dark magic technique the deeper into the war you were getting.

It unnerved you when Henry or Tharja had to reverse it, and more so when they used it, themselves. As a result you were cautious not to let it harm anyone close to you, taking the necessary steps and tips from fellow mages to protect yourselves.

You never would have dreamed there would be a moment when your protections failed. It became a nightmare when a mage not only broke through them, but struck the one you wanted to protect the most.

Lon’qu.

You yelped when his sword slashed down on you, narrowly swerving out of the way and avoiding your nose being lopped off.

You stared in horror at your husband, his eyes glowing red with dark magic. In the distance behind him, you could see the mage’s hands working, his mouth letting loose commands to kill the Ylissean tactician.

There wasn’t even a chance to get close to shut the mage down. Lon’qu was on you in an instant, swing after swing coming down and around you as he tried to break through your defenses.

His brute strength was almost too much to bear. His finesse was more akin to swinging the sword like a bat, smashing it down against your sword so hard the blade almost cracked.

Lon’qu was going to kill you.

Your eyes widened as you ducked and swiveled away from him, your cries of his name falling on deaf ears. He was gone, resigned to his strength.

You countered, you parried another hit, leapt back from the next one, and then-

He came at you from below. You didn’t even feel the blade go through you until you heard Chrom scream. Your face paled as you stared down at your stomach, the sword stabbed through your body. A trickle of blood dripped down the metal as if in slow motion.

The world stopped when you hit the ground, your vision turning red... and then black.

It was a good several days before your eyes opened, again. Libra and Maribelle were quick to help you sit up, keeping careful watch with the bandages wrapped tight around your middle. They had to be changed every few hours when they first brought you in, according to them.

Yet the first thing on your mind wasn’t the wound; it was Lon’qu’s whereabouts.

“He’s... going to be fine.” Libra answered slowly, averting his gaze. “The possession curse was far stronger than what we’re accustomed to. It was by Naga’s good graces we flushed it out of his system.”

“C-can I see him?” The healers exchanged a glance.

“I... don’t know. He hasn’t woken up from our last attempt to break the curse. The mark the mage left finally faded, but we’re not sure about his mental state... ”

“I-if the mark’s gone, he must be better.” You insisted, “Please, I... I need to see him.”

It took a few more minutes of excessive begging before they finally relented, helped you up from the cot and lead you to where your husband was being held.

Your mouth fell open as you stared at the sight before you; Lon’qu was restrained against a thick tent pole, on his knees with his arms and legs bound  beneath another layer of rope securing his torso.

He was rendered immobile.

“Lon’qu... ” You whispered as tears brimmed in your eyes, moving towards him. You tried to reach for him, but Libra held you back.

“Please, Robin. It could very well be dangerous.” He warned you, prompting you to glare at him.

“He couldn’t move even if he wanted to- can’t I at least try and look at him?” You replied somewhat harshly, before pulling away and coming to your husband’s side.

Cautiously, you reached up. You brushed your hand against his cheek, softly calling his name.

At first, he didn’t move. Lon’qu had been unconscious for days after all, according to Maribelle. But you didn’t even get a chance to call him again before his breathing picked up, and he began to stir.

You moved back ever so slightly, heeding Libra’s warning for once when Lon’qu grunted and tugged against his restraints, weakly. As if waking prematurely from a long nap.

“Lon’qu?” You whispered, peering up at him with a mixture of hope and worry. Fear was the last thing on your mind, though Libra readied his axe, prepared to grab you back if Lon’qu wasn’t himself.

Suddenly Lon’qu’s head snapped up and his eyes blew wide open, shouting, “Robin?!”

You gasped, startled backwards by his outburst. Lon’qu looked around wildly, his eyes not entirely back into focus.

“Where is she?! My wife-”

“Lon’qu, she’s all right!” Libra tried to calm him, “She’s here!”

“I saw her... ” He panted, looking as though he’d seen a ghost. You stared in shock when tears began to fall from his eyes, flowing fast and hot down his cheeks. “I saw what I did, I... she’s... t-that blow... all of them... ”

“I’m here, Lon’qu.” You spoke up, pausing his ramblings. You reached out and touched his cheek, trying to draw his focus back to you. He inhaled sharply at your words, blinking rapidly in an attempt to find his gaze and your face.

“Y-you’re here... ?”

“I’m right here, love.” You assured him with a wobbly smile, the sorrow of seeing him in such a frantic state almost too much to bear. After what felt like ages, his vision finally settled, his eyes locking with yours.

His lip trembled, brow furrowed as he bowed his head in shame.

“I could have killed you.”

His voice cracked as he looked away, shoulders hunched against his restraints.

You inched closer to him on your knees, trying to urge his eyes back to yours.

“You were under a spell, Lon’qu. Your actions were not your own.”

“Y-you could have died by my own hand-! ... And I could only stand and watch.” He hissed through gritted teeth, jaw clenched tight against himself. His shoulders began to shake, a wave of shame-filled tears overtaking him.

“But you didn’t,” You tried to reason, taking his face into both your hands and gingerly lifting his eyes to meet yours. You smiled as best you could despite the tears blurring your own vision, wiping away the stains streaming down his face.

“But I... ”

“It wasn’t your fault. I’m alive, and the curse is gone. You’re not going to hurt me; we’re both going to be all right. Please, my love, don’t blame yourself for what happened.”

It was easier said than done, Lon’qu thought as he nodded weakly against your trembling fingers. To have lost Ke’ri because of his lack of abilities... he nearly lost you for the same reason. But to have watched himself drive his own blade come down against his wife... it would have driven him mad with grief and guilt.

He had almost gotten there even with you, alive.

“Libra, the restraints.” He faintly heard you say above his thoughts, bringing him back to the land of the living somewhat. He felt the pressure release around him, his arms falling limp to his sides. “Look at me, my love.”

“Robin... ” He whispered hoarsely, feeling your hands slip into his. “I am so... I beg your forgiveness.”

“There’s nothing to forgive.” You murmured with a sad smile, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead. “I’m just happy you’re back to normal.”

It was that single tender moment that had him crumble all over again. He shook his head, staring at you blankly before he launched into your embrace, engulfing you in his arms. He clutched onto you tightly, burying his face in your neck as his hands threaded into your hair and your coat.

You let out a soft sob, feeling how he shook around you, and the salty, hot droplets that wet your skin.

“Forgive me... ” He breathed against you, letting the grief flow freely. “I... l-love you so... I just... f-forgive me... !”

“You’ll always be forgiven.” You promised him quietly, carding your fingers through his hair gently as he cried into your arms, “Always.”

Oh good question, @lfcgirl23! 🌙 Hmmmm I feel like they’d all be jealous but in slightly different ways/to different degrees. I’ll start with Domi because he’s a Scorpio, and as a fellow Scorpio I feel like maybe I have some insights there (or maybe I’m just projecting, haha).

♏️ I feel like Domi would love very deeply, and he gets tunnel vision once he finds someone he really likes/loves. It’s a love that borders on obsession- but not necessarily in a toxic way. He wants to be so close, so intimate, that it would almost be like them becoming one person. So naturally, if he gets any inkling or suspicion that someone else is hitting on his partner, or that his partner’s eye might be straying, he would immediately try to find out exactly what is going on and try to shut it down. So if he thinks that his partner isn’t fully invested in just him, he’s going to be pretty annoyed. i absolutely agree with your opinion about soobin, this is one of the things that I thought about but couldn’t articulate it. in my opinion he is quite mature and he is the leader of the group which makes him mature even more, but it seems like that is enough for him? like, on the one hand, it’s not that he’s not mature for a relationship, but rather he’s just not ready to take responsibility yet. + he said that he is not the kind of person who would lead a relationship or plan something and therefore would just agree with everything that his girlfriend wants, but this is also literally an abdication of responsibility to some extent. so, in my opinion, he either doesn’t want to take on extra responsibility because he’s tired of responsibility at work, or he’s not ready for it due to his young age, or he’s just that kind of person (but actually i think it affects everything together and may change with age, like i don’t think that he will be a person who will become a super leader in a relationship, but at least he will be okay with the responsibility that comes with the appearance of a relationship)

speaking of kai, i understood what you mean and this is really true, but it is in him that it manifests itself as not being so burdensome for other people? like i mean my work in korea was partly related to this area and i could see and sometimes communicate with different musicians/actors/dancers and other media personas and one of the most surprising things is when you look at them you think “wow this person is so cool, they are beautiful, they are smart, they are interesting personas, they have good singing/dancing/whatever skills” but when communicating with these people, most of them have very low self-esteem but they don’t seem to focus on it. i don’t know how to explain this more correctly, but it’s like the difference between people who due to low self-esteem really pull people around them to the bottom and people for whom it’s like something background that you might not even recognize right away. but idk whatever i hope kai can handle with this and it seems he has already changed for the better

I should start by saying that I'm an August Leo sun. Stede is a July Leo, as confirmed by the show:

July Leos are...different somehow? It's not a bad thing and it's not their fault, and if anybody else comes for them we August Leo's will throw down for our siblings, but there's something about the vibes! Maybe it's the Cancer proximity, idk. If anything my anecdata suggests that they're more well adjusted than the rest of us. 🦁❤️🦁

Anyway, I immediately sat up and noticed when they cut to the gravestones because it's second nature for me as an Astrology Gay. Obviously I didn't know Stede at the time and I don't actually know what went down as the character was developed, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if I learned that at least one person in the writers room was a fellow Astrology Gay.

So I completely forgot about his birthdate because a) ADHD and b) swooniest romance I'd ever seen, but I started thinking about it again when I showed up like a year late to the fandom and saw people talk about whether they were Ed coded or Stede coded. I am heavily, heavily Stede coded for neurodivergent reasons, but he also exhibits certain Very Leo traits that I recognized immediately.

Leo stereotypes:

Let's get the stereotypes out of the way because while they do apply sometimes (especially for Stede), there's no need to rehash them in detail.

Leadership, which he struggles with at first but a) takes up the mantle of it anyway and b) improves enough that by the end of the season the crew that wanted to mutiny saves his life.

His "theatrical instincts are finely honed" and while Izzy says it to encourage the fuckery, it's not a lie.

The Revenge

If an 18th century Leo was going to custom build a pirate ship and money was no object, they would 1000% build the Revenge. I could see arguing that a Taurus might build something similar, but honestly I'm not sure a Taurus would become a pirate by choice. Maybe a Taurus might build like, a pleasure yacht or something. A Libra might build a ship that's as good-looking as the Revenge but sharing expensive tastes isn't enough to convince me either. Stede's money allowed him to build and decorate luxuriously, but plenty of rich people used to comfort didn't have ships like the Revenge. As Nigel says during his tour, it's just so incredibly him.

Now for some feelings stuff:

Leos love it when other people are happy, and when we can be involved in fostering that at all for people we care about we are ON IT. Stede wants to create space for others to get what they need to make that happen. Literally in the first episode he talks about the Revenge as somewhere for his crew to work on their trauma and communicate their feelings.

The above is also an extension of Stede's instinctive generosity. Canon doesn't tell us where Ed got his clothes for the French boat party in episode 5, but given that Stede has an auxiliary wardrobe (which he shared with Ed almost immediately) the most likely scenario seems like he loaned (or maybe even gave!) it to Ed. Another possibility is that it was on the ship where Frenchie found his and Oluwande's outfits, but the purple jacket in particular seems very extra in a way that says "Stede" to me.

Speaking of episode 5, let's talk about the party game. Obviously the main takeaway is that Stede has enough of a handle on passive aggression to make the French assholes tear each other apart, but it's not just the passive aggression, it's in the delivery. With sufficient motivation (Ed's hurt feelings, if not his own) we see Stede command the room with confidence. He chooses his targets well. He knows just what to say to get them to agree to play the game at all. The fire wasn't part of the original plan but it shows just how powerful those hard-won skills are when he wants to apply them. (This doesn't feel like it merits its own bullet point but Leos are protective, ride-or-die friends, something else we see in this episode.)

Stede's love language, imo, is quality time. There are arguments for others (there's also a really good meta about his love language causing miscommunication with our touchy-feely boy Ed, if I can find the link I'll edit) but quality time seems the most appropriate to me. Another part of the whole generosity of spirit thing is that he seems to enjoy what a friend of mine called "engineering experiences" for people i.e. crafting activities and jam sessions for the crew. The most obvious of these is the treasure hunt for Ed, which of course comes out of his fear of Ed leaving, but it's also a way for them to spend time together. I'm not at all surprised that a lonely, bullied kid would grow up to value quality time.

I would also extend this to the clearly routine (but still extravagant) breakfast for two that we see Calico Jack crashing in episode 8. Not to mention the first breakfast he and Ed ever share up on the maintop in episode 4. It's not fancy, but he wakes Ed up to share in that moment because he's enjoying the sunrise and the marmalade, and I can't think of anything more Leo than enjoying something then immediately wanting to share it because someone else might enjoy it too.

Stede's not perfect of course, despite all those seemingly positive things I just said. In the way of some Leos he is frequently thoughtless, up to and including when he didn't make to the dock. I can't speak for every Leo but I have definitely accidentally flirted with/been read as flirting with people before, whether I was attracted to them or not. And yeah his quarters are nice but he could have used some of that space for more crew quarters, right? And how could a Leo possibly misread "what makes Ed happy is you" as badly as he did?

Well I may be an Astrology Binch but I mostly like it (and anything else that puts personalities into discrete groups) as an analysis tool. It's just a fun lens to examine behaviors through, IRL and with fictional characters. Also, the show is clearly trying to examine things like trauma and self-loathing in ways that are gonna inform character behavior way more than a hypothetical astrology enthusiast in the (admittedly pretty queer) writers room. jewell is a very paranoid person, if their seemingly-permanent confusion and scared expression is to say anything. they’re usually seen alone in silence or with other terrovania members, never interacting with anybody outside of their dorm unless an outsider comes up to them first.

however, as seen with his fellow dorm mates, he can be very cheerful and genuinely happy once he gets to know you. you just have to be nice to him! …even if it’s fake. as long as you can calm him down and give him affection, he’ll be right at your feet, like a dog. just a warning however, he gets attached to people rather easily. really easily. it’s borderline obsessive.

she is extremely loyal to a fault; she follows the orders of whomever she considers her current “family”, or just anyone that she feels attached to—and i do mean anyone. because of this she is also very gullible, thus easy to manipulate. nature and nurture coexist so well, doesn’t it?

due to his determination, he’s very sturdy and is able to take many hits whether they’re physical or magical, despite his small frame. he’ll keep pushing no matter how severe the injury is, i wonder if he even recognizes the pain? it’s the same with his brute force; he may not use his bare hands that often, but he has an extremely tight grip and can drag or lift someone to a certain location if anybody asked for it. if his chainsaw doesn’t break something, then he’ll crush things with his feet.

general magic

for some odd reason, their family valued them being the “brute force” of the family, so they’ve never been trained when it comes to their magic. as a result, jewell’s magical abilities are generally very weak and not that effective—but, if they were to recklessly throw their magic out without thought, maybe it can hurt someone pretty severely.

unique magic

jewell’s unique magic is “dog will hunt”. it allows him to summon a chainsaw that can be used to attack people. it starts out as a normal chainsaw, but the more that he revs it up using his magic the more it becomes powerful. at the ultimate stage, the chainsaw can cut through anything, including space. he can switch it out with a hammer too.

she can also summon meat hooks that assist in the hunt. it’s most useful in tight spaces.

however, as a side effect, the more jewell revs the chainsaw up, the more that they themselves become weaker because of how much magic they’re using. they won’t be as durable, strong, or as fast as they normally are. they’ll get tired more easily too.

Biography:

When Jarome was 8 years old a house fire took the lives of his mother, father, and his older sister. On this night, Jarome discovered his ability of summoning. The fire started in the kitchen on the ground floor while Jarome was upstairs in his bedroom. After hearing a baffling commotion coming from the other side of his house he ventured down the stairs and found his grieving mother crying for her dead daughter. When the spirit of Felicity Blakely appeared to Jarome and guided him out of the house to safety, Jarome still hadn’t realized what he was. A mutant.

His ability of summoning did not reveal itself again until he was teenager, not that he hadn’t tried to bring his sister and his parents back to him many a time since their deaths. After the death of his parents, Jarome’s aunt, Elizabeth Blakely was given custody of the young boy. Almost two years after living a normal but not-normal life with his aunt and uncle, Jarome was met with another paralyzing fear: sexual abuse at the hands of Aunty Elle. For several months the abuse became regular and consist. No matter how hard Jarome tried, nothing he did would make his aunt stop… but one night he realized he didn’t need to have control of his aunt when he had control of himself. His ability of astral projection was a dangerous but necessary tool when he needed to escape his aunt. But at least he could escape at all. The abuse carried on for three years, until Jarome turned 13 and hit puberty and Aunty Elle seemed to lose interest in him. The abuse was never mentioned or brought up by either party thereafter.

Once the abuse stopped and Jarome entered high school, he was able to begin his life anew. His aunt and uncle were good to him if one could look past the abuse of Aunty Elle and the neglect from Uncle Randy. Jarome made presentable grades and played JV baseball for one year and Varsity baseball for the remaining three. He was a thoughtful and intuitive young man and was well known for driving guest of a house party home at the end of the night. Jarome never wanted a relationship and so he never had one. For most of his high school years he was friendly and polite yet reserved. Like most high schoolers, Jarome had no idea what he wanted to do with his life– he certainly never considered being a superhero as an occupation.

A few weeks after he turned 18, he was walking his dog Newt one evening when a man at the end of the street smashed the window of a car. While the thief cleared away the broken glass and reached greedily into the vehicle, Jarome valiantly charged towards him and pursued the petty criminal around a corner. With a few powerful strides, Newt snapped her jaws down on the thief’s pant leg and Jarome tackled him to the ground. He stripped the car radio like a football from the thief and turned to meet four bullets.

Jarome awoke in the local hospital several hours later with gauze wrapped thickly around his chest and stomach. Gingerly, he arose and began scrutinizing his own charts– there weren’t very many– he discovered he’d been checked in late that evening and was unconscious for a 6 or 7 hours. He found a bathroom and unwrapped the gauze in order to see the wounds for himself but was shocked to find smooth and undamaged skin. He check his right elbow, the scar from a when he fell off of his bicycle at age 6 was still there. The bullet wounds, however, had vanished.

Team Legacy: Friends or Foes?

Led by Jamaican-American Jarome Blakely, Team Legacy is a New York-based team of mutants that work together to help and protect both humans and mutants. It has been said that they also wish to show the public that mutants can be beneficial to society and even become assets to the non-mutant world. Team Legacy was founded in 2011 by Jarome Blakely and is made up of just two other young men: Noah Dupont, and Cassius ‘Cass’ Maximoff, youngest son of Wanda Maximoff. Noah Dupont is the youngest team member with the power to manipulate the natural elements. Cassius Maximoff, who does not deny being present in the SHIELD Base 467 break-in of early-2011, is ironically Team Legacy’s public figure and spokesman. He has been present at six political debates on issues of mutant rights in the past 4 months. His mutant powers are Teleportation and Empathy. Last but not least, Jarome Blakely is the leader of Team Legacy and has three powers: Summoning, the ability to move objects without touching them as well as momentarily bring back spirits that are familiar to him; Astral Projection, the ability to separate a ghost-like form of himself from his physical body; and Immortality.

Team Legacy has been noted just twice on local news stations for their assistance in two bank robberies. But are they really who they say they are? Are Team Legacy truly a group of super heroes? Or are they just as dangerous as every other mutant out there?

Powers:

Astral Projection:

Through intense and vigorous meditation, Jarome is able to separate his spirit self from his corporeal form and travel with a present mind through the Astral Plane. Dangers lurk in the astral plane and Jarome can see the essence of others, living and dead, in the astral plane but it is difficult to establish a form of contact in this way.

Summoning:

Similar visually to telekinesis, Jarome is able to ‘possess’ inanimate objects and move them at vary speeds through the physical realm.

Commune with the Dead:

Jarome is gifted, or perhaps plagued, by visitations from those who have passed away.

Immortality:

Unbeknownst to Jarome, he is immortal and cannot be killed and will never die.

Skills:

Kyusho Jitsu: Kyusho Jitsu (or Pressure Point Fighting) is a martial arts focused on targeting pressure points. Pressure points are areas of the body where people can apply pressure or strike in order to cause pain. According to Kyusho-Jitsu UK, Kyusho-Jitsu is “a way of attacking the nervous-system to control an attacker or subdue an attacker to maintain your advantage and stay in control”.
