DICHAS SIN CAUSA

Sabemos por demás las causas de la pena, mas buscamos tal vez qué nos causó placer; a veces me despierto de ánimo sereno, presa de extraño encanto, que no logro asir.

Un arrebol invade mi ser, mi morada, amo el cosmos entero y, sin saber por qué, resplandezco. No dura tal cosa ni una hora, y siento resurgir la sombra en mi interior.

¿De dónde brotan tales súbitos relumbros, tales cielos abiertos —entrevistos sólo—, tales astros sin nombre en la noche del tiempo, que se escapan dejando el corazón más hosco?

¿Son quizá un viejo abril cuyo azul reaviva? ¿de días en cenizas la sazón renace como fuego que lanza un póstumo destello? ¿o son nuncio feliz de futuros amores?

No tiene la veloz estela misteriosa índole de recuerdo ni premonición; quizás sea una dicha que vaga extraviada y, confundida de alma, alumbra de rondón.
