lowkey disagree with anyone who labels juan as stupid because of his oversensitivity, impulsiveness, and rash personality (the three traits that heavily contributed to his own doom) and while he may not be as cunning as cesare and lucrezia, he's certainly observant and has been predicting the game before it happens. he's also aware of cesare's superiority over him which is why he keeps provoking him about being stuck as a cardinal. he recognizes cesare's sinister potential and how he's maneuvering him and their unwitting father. he understands that cesare is planning to kill him and has clocked that there's something twisted going on between his brother and his "angelic sister." as david oakes says, "it proves that [juan] is sort of self-aware and probably hasn't had the best life." this is why he doesn't bother to speak up knowing he'd be dismissed and gaslit despite being right. unlike cesare who's already their father's consigliere and whom their father believes even when he's lying (mostly to seize juan from the position he desires)... this shows that juan is not as naive as his family (and the audience) believes him to be and that he has a strength they don't give him credit for.

At first, James thought it was jealousy. When he saw you kiss Lily goodbye at the portrait hole, he felt it for the first time. He couldn’t really tell who he felt it for, though. But then he felt it again, this time when he found Remus and Sirius cuddling in their shared dorm, and he’d chalked it up to being jealous that his friends were in happy relationships whilst he was alone.
He tried flirting with other people, thinking a relationship of his own would cure these feelings. In his endeavors, James found that flirting was something he’s actually quite good at. But when he was on the receiving end of flirtatious remarks, he noticed his stomach never flipped the way it did for his friends, and all they had to do was say ‘hello’ to make it happen. He even tried to go on a date, but he found himself itching to be back at Gryffindor Tower where you lot were hanging out.
So, James decided to face the facts. He has a crush… or four, he supposes. But it’s not like romance between him and his friends is unheard of. Other students around Hogwarts used to poke fun at you all for the inter friend group dating, accusing you of things like passing each other around for the fun of it.
Someone once told Sirius he couldn’t escape the incestuous nature of his family, and that’s when the boys started hexing anyone who made any sort of joke on the topic. Soon enough, people learned to keep their mouths shut.
But it wasn’t what other students made it seem. You all may have been perceived as a lascivious bunch who couldn’t keep your hands off of each other, but there were deep emotions between some of you that surpassed mere physical attraction.
James probably had one of the most tame histories, save for Peter, who managed to find a girlfriend outside of the group. In James’ past, there was casual fling with Lily, which both parties wanted to be more, yet neither ever had the courage to say it. The relationship ended when they both inwardly thought they’d be better off letting go than silently yearning for more. Aside from that, James had managed to kiss each of you some way or another, whether it be via drinking games or experimental fun.
As for the rest of you, let’s just say you all did a bit more than kiss some of the other members in your group before you all coupled off.
You, for example, have dabbled in romance with both Sirius and Remus at different points in time. There was a frenzied night with Remus that had you both longing for more, yet never acting on it. And there was a time where everyone thought you and Sirius would end up together. The tension between you two was once so palpable it pervaded your every interaction and shrouded your awareness of anything but each other. It fizzled after a while of neither of you ever making a real move, but sometimes you both feel it creep back into your conversations like an addiction you couldn’t shake.
Lily and Remus also had a history. They were together for a while, a saccharine relationship that made those around them equally jealous as they were nauseous. Eventually, they broke it off because they couldn’t help but feel like something was missing. They theorized that they must be better off as friends, but what could’ve been still seems to loom over them.
And James doesn’t know this, if he found out now he might disintegrate on the spot, but everyone’s fancied him at some point. But there’s something about Potters and their tendency to be oblivious. Everyone’s tried to get out of James’ friend zone and it went quite unnoticed. Lily was the only one who’s ever succeeded, and yet, they let each other become their ones that got away.
It might be a good thing that James never knew about his friends’ crushes. He probably would’ve turned most of you down, depending on the timing. And that would’ve haunted him now. He already has to deal with the pining and the nerves and the misery of it all. Regret added to that mix would send him over the edge.
After all, the minute you all walk into the common room his heart is already racing with nerves.
First came Remus and Sirius, Remus having his arm slung across Sirius’ shoulders. Sirius’ walk is an odd looking shuffle due to the way he presses himself into his boyfriend’s side.
There’s the pining. James wishes he could be sandwiched between them. He imagines shuffling along, like Sirius, and watching the pace of their footsteps sync up.
Next, James sees Lily. Beaming, as always. She has a firm grip on your hand as she tows you in after her. You two are giggling about something and James swears he’s never heard anything more beautiful than the way your laughters intertwine. He’d give anything to be included in whatever you two were so charmed by.
“Hey, Prongs,” Remus greets as they sit on the sofa next to him. Remus’ knees knock against James’. James doesn’t want to think about how much it affects him.
“Hi Jamie,” you say in a sing song voice, passing in front of him as Lily leads you to sit on the armchair with her. The two of you might as well be on top of each other when you get situated, your legs twisted together.
James shifts in his seat, “Hi,” he rasps, then clears his throat, “Hi guys.”
“What are you up to?” Lily bats her beautiful, long eyelashes at James.
James picks up a book Peter left on the end table next to him, “Studying,” he lies. What he was really doing was thinking about all of you. He couldn’t exactly disclose that, now could he?
Lily’s eyes dart down to the cover of the book, “Advanced History of Magic?”
“I thought you dropped that after OWLs?” You wonder aloud.
James presses his lips into a line while he tries to think of what to say, “Yeah, I, er- I’m not studying for class. I’m studying for pleasure. History is a very important subject.” James internally groans. He curses Peter in his mind for not leaving a better book behind.
The couples around him seem to share skeptical glances that make James want to walk into the Black Lake, lie down, and drown there.
James' next words tumble out like a torrent, “It’s actually Peter’s. He was telling me something interesting from his class. Wanted to read up on it myself. Anyway, I should go return this to him. Cheers, guys.”
Before anyone can say anything, James is already speeding off with the book.
Oh, the misery. James hates how awkward things have become. He’s not usually an awkward person, but being around all four people he’s crushing on is overwhelming, even for him.
Somewhere in Hogwarts’ halls, James leans against one of the cold stone walls and hugs Peter’s book to his chest.
What is wrong with me, he thinks. And then he gets a tad arrogant, I’m James Potter! I can handle anything. Even having a thing for my best friends.
James decides right then and there that he doesn’t want to feel like such a mess anymore. It’s time for a different approach.
The next time he sees one of you, he thinks to himself, you know how to be confident, James, you’ve done it before. And so he puts on his best act.
But for some reason, acting confident translated into constantly flirting with all of his friends. He really had no intention of doing that, it’s not like he actually wanted to get with any of you. He’d never want to try to interfere in your relationships. But for some reason, as his words tumbled out with amorous undertones and romantic implications, the negative emotions tumbled away too. So he kind of just kept doing it.
From then on, your interactions with James have gone much more smoothly. Admittedly, they were also much more intoxicating.
One day after Quidditch practice, James finds you and Lily wrapped up in each other’s arms on the sofa. Your arms are around Lily’s waist as you both watch the crackle of the fireplace before you. The sofa’s back cushions lay strewn across the floor to accommodate the space the two of you take up.
With a grin fitting his face, James approaches the sofa.
“Hey,” he calls on his approach. The two of you shift onto your backs to look in the direction of James’ voice behind you. When he arrives, he leans his forearms on the back of the sofa, one folded over the other, and hovers above you two, “Lily, Y/N.” He greets.
“Hi James,” Lily says on behalf of you both.
James eyes leisurely drift along the length of the couch and back up again, “Don’t you two look cozy.”
“Sure are,” Lily grins lazily, “If there were any more room on here we’d invite you to join,” your girlfriend jokes.
“That’s alright, doll,” James says with a lopsided smile. He then leans in closer to you, and you notice the sparkling reflection of the firelight in his eyes. He lowers his voice to a whisper as if he’s telling you a secret, “Next time.” His voice comes out like silk and his eye contact is unwavering. You find it too intoxicating to even blink.
Your lips part slightly, and you can hear Lily’s breath get caught in her throat. It was just two words, it really shouldn’t have affected you two so much. Maybe it’s the way he said them… or maybe it’s just James. James, whose tousled hair is sticking to his forehead still from a strenuous practice and whose lips are only centimeters away.
A moment of silence passes between you three before James straightens out his spine, standing with his hands resting where his forearms previously were.
His fingers pitter patter against the sofa back, “I’m off to shower…” James says, “Save me a seat at dinner?”
Without waiting for a reply, James walks towards the boys dormitories. You both watch James disappear up the stairs. When you look at Lily, you find her face flushed. You wiggle your eyebrows and she slaps you on the arm, knowing exactly what you’re thinking. Her hand lingers, then trails down to fit into yours. She discovers a sweaty palm, and now she’s the one raising her eyebrows.
Tumblr media
A few days later, Remus and Sirius find themselves in a similar situation.
The three Marauders found themselves running for their lives from Filch after attempting to pull a prank without their fourth, who had to bail last minute. They had to rethink the plan on the spot without the extra set of hands, and found themselves nearly getting caught.
Luckily, Remus knew this area of the castle intimately from his prefects rounds, and found them a room to hide in.
The boys tumble inside. Sirius and James find themselves with their backs to the nearest wall, both heaving to catch their breaths. Remus locks the door behind them, and releases a shocked laugh as he backs into the room.
“Quick thinking, Rem. I wonder what other tricks you have up your sleeve.” James says, his tone suggestive.
“Oi!” Sirius exclaims while Remus flushes. Sirius looks a bit amused, but still feels a bit territorial too.
James swivels to face Sirius, his body not coming out of contact with the wall. He leans his forearm on the stones above Sirius’ head. Being a bit shorter, Sirius has to look up at James as he leans in ever so slightly, “Don’t worry, Sirius. I find your secrets just as intriguing.”
Territorial feelings cured. Sirius tries to place the feelings that replaced them and… oh. His head snaps towards his boyfriend, who looks downright besotted with the display in front of him.
James maintains eye contact and a confident smirk as lets his arm slide down the wall until his palm is flat against it, level with Sirius’ head. He gives the wall a gently pat, then abruptly turns away.
He takes a single step towards Remus, “I have a sneaking suspicion Filch is still lurking in the area. I’ve got the cloak, so I’m off to be your knight in shining armor and cause a distraction.” James winks, and then he’s out the door.
The pair of boys that were left behind watch the door thoughtfully for a few moments.
Sirius’ tongue darts out to moisten his lips as he prepares himself to make a bold suggestion.
“Hey Moony?” he asks.
“Yeah?” Remus responds breathlessly.
“Hear me out about something…” Sirius trails off, still looking in the direction James left in.
Tumblr media
A week later, you and Lily enter the common room in search of your messy-haired friend. He spots you two before either of you find him.
“If it isn’t my favorite girls,” James waves you both over to where he is seated, which is a small table by the window. Remus and Sirius, who look a bit peeved to have James’ attention drawn away from them, are sitting across from him.
“What brings you here?” James asks when you arrive at his side, “It’s date night, if I’m not mistaken, isn’t it?”
You share a look with Lily, “Yes, actually, we’re just about to head off to Hogsmeade.”
Lily rests a hand on James’ shoulder, “But we were thinking… we’d love it if you’d join us.”
While the confusion on James’ face starts to soften into understanding, Sirius chokes on his own spit. His voice is strained as he holds back from coughing, “James is busy.”
Your eyes dart to Sirius, “Is he?” then back to James. “Couldn’t you make some time?” You bat your eyes at him.
Sirius looks horrified, “We have some— Marauders only!— business to attend to. James was just about to accept our invitation, isn’t that right, Prongs?”
“Uhh, I-” James sputters, wildly taken aback by what’s happening. What is happening?
“Well why don’t you two just invite Peter,” you suggest callously as Lily’s grip on James’ shoulder turns possessive.
“This isn’t the kind of business we want to invite Peter to. We want James.” Sirius’ eyes narrow.
You furrow your brows at Sirius’ words and it takes a moment for the meaning of them to sink in. Your features harden as Sirius and Remus suddenly go from friends to competitors.
“Well I guess you’re out of luck, then.” You say, squinting down at Sirius, “I think James is going to want to come with us.”
Sirius didn’t much like the way you looked down on him, so he brought himself up to his feet where he could tower over you.
“It’s cute that you think so, but we’re closer to James than anyone. James is our best friend.”
“And I think it’ll be staying that way.”
“I beg to differ.” Sirius counters, his tone laced with arrogance.
James’ jaw goes slack at the implication.
“If you're going to beg I prefer that you get on your knees first.” Your voice is dripping with mockery, challenge, and something else that takes everyone a moment to decipher.
It’s something familiar, a certain tension that’s proving once again to have never fully gone away. It flashes in Sirius’ eyes too, his fiery gaze wavering to give way for a fervent expression.
The sudden shift in tone sent an electric shock through the three onlookers, James’ jaw dropping impossibly lower.
“Trust me, doll. Where I’m involved, I’m not the one who’s gonna be begging on their knees.”
Remus somehow looks like he’s enjoying this, which should be unusual for a guy watching his boyfriend flirt with someone else. He’s leaned back in his seat, a hint of a smile dancing on his lips, as his eyes dart between each of his friends.
“What’s happening,” James chokes out, the nerves he expelled weeks ago suddenly bubbling back up again.
No one answers James. Remus is having too much fun and you are too busy staring down Sirius. Lily joins you, inching closer to both you and him as she leans over your shoulder, her body pressing into your back.
“Oh, he’s lying, don’t you think?” She says, her voice velvety smooth.
“Certainly so. I have it on good authority that he’s the type to want to be in charge,” you jut your chin toward Remus, whose gaze you meet while memories of each other swirl around in your minds, bringing matching twinkles to your eyes.
“Can-? Can I interject?” James takes a shot at cutting through the tension, his voice cracking.
“Of course, Jamie,” you turn your head from Sirius to look at him but a soft hand pinching your chin gently turns you right back.
“Eyes on me, dollface, I’m not done with you,” Sirius says firmly, as if proving how commanding he can be.
A choked noise emits from James’ throat and it’s not clear if it’s in protest of being cast aside again or a direct reaction to the way Sirius is handling you.
Remus inches his hand towards James’, bumping his pinky into his. “Sit tight, I want to see where this goes,” he tells him.
“See? So effortlessly commanding,” you vocalize to Lily, a hungry look in your eyes as they flick to Remus.
Sirius’ possessive nature flares up. “This has been real cute, but you can you can back off of them now,” Sirius say, referring to both his boyfriend and James.
Your eyes dart back to Sirius and that hungry sort of look doesn’t falter, “Want me to focus on you, do you? Ddon’t worry, baby, I can multitask.”
“Let's cut to the chase, are you two about to fight or kiss?” James defies Remus’ command to sit tight, suddenly speaking boldly, regaining his confidence from either sheer will or impatience, “Either is fine, I suppose, as long as you continue to let me watch.”
“I second that,” Remus agrees at once.
“Third,” Lily chimes in, “though I’d prefer to see the ladder.”
As James words sink in, it brings you back down to reality, that familiar veil of tension that shrouds your better judgment lifting.
Worry filters in first, your actions suddenly feeling inappropriate. That they were, but you’re less worried about the nature of your actions and more so the fact that you behaved in such away with someone else right in front of your girlfriend. When you look at her, you’re met with a sly countenance that reminds you she was an active participant.
You’re not the only one having inner turmoil after the racy display, a silence that’s tense for different reasons washing over you all. Everyone seems to be contemplating the implications of what just happened and how you all so fondly reacted to it.
Lily is the one to cut through the silence first.
“You know… I wouldn’t mind if all three of you joined us,” Lily tucks a strand of hair behind your ear as she asks “Do you, Lovie?”
“No, I wouldn’t mind at all,” your words coming out like a plea when you respond.
Remus carefully stands from his seat, approaching Sirius with revere and settling his arm across his shoulder. His free hand extends to you, which you take without hesitation. His tender touch sends shivers up your spine.
Your four sets of eyes drift to James, who’s still in his seat trying to process what’s going on. When it sinks that this is real life, he looks back at you all like you’re a newfound treasure.
It’s instant, the way the feelings that never went away metamorphosize into something beautiful and new. And it’s an adjustment, for sure, but you all lean into it with surprising ease.
The rumors fly, of course, when your peers start to take notice of the way things have changed. No amount of previous hexing scares them away from jumping to their conclusions and spreading their rumors. This time around, you’re all too enamored with each other to care much about what people say, but you do find it pitiful that they could never understand. But some witnesses to the loving little touches and soft remarks between each of you and all of you find that it makes sense now—all of you were destined from the start.
For you have always been drawn to each other. It’s why you constantly gravitated from one to the next, the pull from those you left behind never really going away.
It feels like a dream the way you all settle back into place with each other. James looks at you all in disbelief everyday. He couldn't have imagined a more perfect solution to his previously helpless pining.
You're quite pleased as well, the longing for what you never had with each of your boys finally resolved.
And Lily and Remus share a look some days, eyes twinkling, finding comfort in knowing now what their missing piece was. Or rather, pieces.
“Well, I think I can pinpoint now why all of our relationships kept not working out,” Lily tells him once, in the very beginning. You’re all strolling around outdoors, basking in the sun, still shyly navigating through the newness of it all.
The knuckles of your left hand fondly brush against those on James’ right. Lily walks alongside you, Remus on the end next to her. And Sirius has fallen behind purposefully, admiring the way the four of you look together.
“Why’s that, Dove?” Remus asks.
“Greed,” Sirius interjects, an impish grin dances on his lips as he jogs up to join you all again. He squeezes between you and Lily, slinging his arms around you both.
Sirius nuzzles his nose into the side of your face, “But who’s to say we can’t have it all?”

Someone please give Atsushi a break, because he won't be okay after all of this.
Like, you know a chapter isn't going to be good when these are the first panels
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
As expected, that Tanizaki really was a illusion of his ability, which he apparently activated when Kunikida was attacked by the divine being last chapter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though this is a really popular theory in the fandom i didn't expect it to be real (i always thought they were weird due to some childhood trauma or something like that), nor that it would be revealed at a time like this, but is good to know that they weren't actually incestuous.
The Tanizaki siblings have always been characters that intrigued me, and i really hope their story can be explored further after the end of this arc. Apparently, not even Naomi herself knows about her own origin, considering that Tanizaki wrote a note about it and left it well hidden, and now he asked Atsushi to pick it up and, from what the manga implied, give it to Naomi, so she could knew about his family in case he died there. Which makes me wonder how important or dangerous her real family might be, and that maybe that's the reason why Tanizaki has always been so overprotective of her, along with his somewhat violent personality.
I haven't read The Makioka Sisters and Naomi, so I won't comment too much because I'll end up saying something that doesn't make any sense at all.
I REFUSE TO COMMENT ABOUT HIS DEATH. No, no, no, i won't talk about it.
I know that these death will probably be undone, and that they are happening more to show how a real battlefield is, even with ability users, to make Atsushi feel completely alone again, until Akutagawa finally arrive and the two fight against Ame-no-gozen, but it doesn't change the fact that characters i like a lot are being turned into BUBBLES AND EATEN BY THIS ELDRITCH GOD!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We got Kenji and Tetchou back but at what cost.
Kenji is just so happy to be able to help his friends. He doesn't even care if he's going to die, because Atsushi is going to live, and that's enough for him. He tells Atsushi to move on while he dies, beacuse he knew Atsushi needed to go somewhere safe!! THIS IS A FOURTEEN YEAR OLD TEENAGER, HE SHOULD BE AT SCHOOL, NOT AT WAR!!
And Atsushi is so desesperate due to the fear of the divine being and the pain of seeing his friends diyng in front of him that i want to give him a hug.
Tumblr media
Literally the only good thing in this chapter was finding out that Lucy and Kyouka are fine, traped, but fine. At least they're not dead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE AUDACITY.
YOU JUST KILLED THREE OF HIS FRIENDS, OF COURSE HE'S NOT ALRIGHT??
Leaving the negative feelings aside, we FINALLY had an interaction between Fyodor and Atsushi! If we don't have explanations about Atsushi's past and powers in the next chapters I'm going to go crazy. I know this will be traumatic for Atsushi, but Fyodor knows more about his powers than Atsushi himself, and I think it's time we know more about him, especially the connection between him and the book.

July 3, 2024
While Republican party members band together to try and elect to the office of President of the United States a pitiful and feeble man pushing 80 years old, a man who is a likely pedophile with strong and well-known ties and connections to Jeffrey Epstein (with some implied incestuous undertones as a likely pedophile), a libel sexual abuser and rapist, a charity and business fraud, a multiple time business and real estate failure and fraud, a five time draft dodger, a felon convicted of 34 crimes and accused of over 50 more, along with dozens of guilty misdemeanor convictions throughout his entire life alongside the recent felony convictions and accusations, a habitual and pathological liar, and also very likely a possible traitor who might have committed wanton treason, Democrats are doing the opposite.
No rallying, no fortifying, no backing the incumbent. No, the Democrats are seemingly trying to call on their strongest and best candidate to step aside and step down because he "looked and sounded too old" for a very select 90 minutes of the last 4 years, while trying to respond to a verbal firehose of uninterrupted and unchallenged lies by the news media and debate "moderators" last week, and it is pathetic.
You can google "Newsroom Opening Scene" for the reference to this paraphrase, but "if liberals and Democrats are so smart, why do they lose so goddamned always."
Above is the reason why.
The most deplorable people in this country are rallying around quite possibly the worst candidate possible to ever run in any election at any level, and convincing the most vulnerable, stupid, and ignorant people they can find that it is in their best interest to vote along with them, even if means stripping those same voters, along with all of the rest of us, the basic tenants of freedoms, our fundamental rights, and even our own right to exist and live; mostly doing that convincing to simply to increase their own personal wealth, and power, and control of the people, all at the expense of those freedoms and rights being repealed.
They are rallying around someone suffering from extreme cognitive decline who is more unfit to serve in office than any other option, ever, and rallying without hesitation or doubt, en masse.
And all of this is happening while the other side is splitting off into small little factions committed to infighting, questioning, and doubting one another and the possible nominations, which, of course. more than opens the door to being beaten and losing like they always do.
I am going to put this plainly; there needs to be a commitment and complete dedication to reelecting Joe Biden to the office of President from everyone of any substance, character, decency, dignity, and intellect in this country. Period and full stop. I do not care what your opinion is of him, his age, his record in office before President, or the like; he is the one and only last best shot left to keep the most unfit and most dangerous candidate ever put forth, the one being championed and never doubted for a moment by his circle of support and enablers for any of the dozens of valid reasons there are, out of office.
This is absolute facts, and when I say this, know and understand that I am right, and there are dozens of reasons why each is true, are as follows:
If you are a woman, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you have a daughter, or a sister, or a niece, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are a person of color, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are gay, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are trans, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are poor, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are middle class, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are in a union or work a union backed job, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are a student or an educator at any level, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are a senior citizen, or would like to plan on becoming one in the next ten to fifty years, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are a doctor or a scientist or a highly educated member of your chosen field, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are an artist, a writer or author, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are a journalist, especially an independent journalist not beholden to the mainstream media committed to electing the felon, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are active duty or a veteran, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden. If you are an immigrant or a naturalized citizen who is legally eligible to do so, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden.
And if you KNOW anyone who is any of these things, at all, at any level, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden; and if you still won’t, you need to have the courage to look ANYONE of these people in the eye and explain exactly why you would use your vote to disenfranchise them, to marginalize them, to endanger them, to harm them, to punish them, and even to accept why you would knowingly do it to yourself, as well, because you likely find yourself among any of those people, as well, because, like it or not, if you value American ideals and freedoms, liberty and justice for all, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden.
Quite literally, if you are anyone EXCEPT Convicted Felon Dnald J. Trmp, it is in your absolute best interest to vote for Joe Biden.
And the sooner you realize that, the sooner you commit to that, and the sooner you tune out ANY outside influence that would suggest otherwise, and this means voting straight blue on every ticket, every election, every year, until this existential threat from the ultra radical right is gone forever, too, the better off you, and all of us will be.
Have a very Happy rest of your Third of July and enjoy the holiday weekend.
Except for maga.  Fuck you all, forever and always.

Susan Kay's Phantom, part 2: Erik part 1
Ah, finally i got my dragon and cat motif with Erik, I can die happy.
So uhm, yeah, the first big problems arise in this chapter, aside from the incest...The racism.
Granted, I'm not an expert in Romani culture, so I can't say what is accurate or not, but Kay went out of the way to dehumanize them and lean into the stereotypes of them being untrusworthy and dirty. Like, she doesn't even try to give us a sympathetic character for Erik to bond with, and maybe lean in in the idea that as a "monster", he would find more common ground with "outcasts". Of course it's naive to think all of them would be chummy buddies, but not even one friend who would appreciate his art and trickster skills? Again, I know she wanted to lean in on the tragedy element of his character, but my suspension of disbelief again cuts dry.
She did good with Javert, tho. Gross, disgusting pig...And I'm glad Erik kills him. Tho I wonder if it was a dig at Les Mis...Which I don't get at all (Javert from Les Mis was born to a Romani woman and while Kay's Javert is stated to NOT be Roma...I wonder...).
There's also this strange element of Erik's sexuality which I'm noticing is more forming, and again, it's rather strange how it occurs when he's so young. Maybe it is was from an angle that he was sexually abused as a child so therefore he's more sexually charged as an adult, but it reads a little too erotic for my tastes (again, especially him being so young, makes it a little disturbing)...And the fact that it happens often in these violent scenarios with him as a minor (Maddy's incestual attraction, Javert abusing him, Duchina threatening him to accuse him of rape) doesn't paint a very enticing picture about the supposed eroticism of the character. (then again, i get it, it was the 80s, different ideas about sex...But I dunno...the ALW musical played his terror and sexuality much more enticing in my opinion).
And I don't want to speak yet, but knowing what I know of Luciana, the Sultana, and her version of Christine, I feel Kay overall doesn't have a positive opinion of women? Save Marie, all the women so far Erik meets in his life are nasty and wish to exploit him in some way (Maddy, Duchina)...It contrasts a lot considering later on he's supposed to be one of the most "attractive" Eriks in the phandom. i don't think it would hurt to see ONE woman at least be a little level-headed with him and not try to sexually abuse him.
But I like that here, he's written realistically as how a talented genius kid would act, instead of the "super baby" we met in chapter 1. He's learning from his surroundings and adapts well, and he doesn't use such formal language. I like it.
So...I guess we're going to Rome now.

Hi Maven!! Same q to everyone this week: what are your top 3 wincest episodes, and why?
ok im gonna cheat and do this in 2 ways hehe
a) top 3 sam/dean episodes
3. A Very Supernatural Christmas: has the samulet (their engagement ring, obviously!), you can palpably feel the isolation, the neglect, it's very two-children-in-a-motel-esque. and of course, the final scene, where i think, if there was any point in the series aside from the barn scene in which they would have said "i love you," it would have been there. the deep long stare, the watery eyes, the fact that they both know dean will be gone within the year, and then... "do you feel like watching the game?" ahhhhhhh drives me nuts
2. Swan Song: their love literally!!!!! saves the world, i mean come on. it has the whole wincest montage that you could literally set a richard siken poem to, or a taylor swift song to (look i know those are vastly different things but. bear with me), and it would just feel right. dean finally lets sam do things on his own. he lives because sam tells him to. sam manages to revoke his possession consent because of how much he's in love with dean, even as his fist is smashing dean's face into a pulp. ok i have to stop or i'm going to start crying in this goddamn airport.
Playthings: obviously. gothic horror episode of all time. picture-perfect family in the outside, secret sibling hidden upstairs. the way sam and dean's codependency is paired with that of the grandmother and her ghostly sister. the face-stroking. the almost kiss. god i swear it always looks like they're gonna kiss. sam writhing on the bed. dean staring at him like that. the subtext was about to bust through the screen, what with the acting and the way the plot and the meta-plot fit together perfectly. catherine tosenberger said it much better than i can, go read her article in TWC about wincest if you haven't!
b) top 3 family-horror-what-the-incestuous-freudian-fuck-is-going-on-here episodes
2. Devil's Trap: azazel uses john's body in a sexual manner against both sam and dean--primarily the latter but sam gets it, too. it's a chilling scene and really cements that this is what spn is about: never being able to escape the family. sam learns partly of azazel's plot, dean gets his daddy issues flayed onto him, and all through the eyes of the father. it's so well done.
3. Skin: imo the most damning thing the shifter says is, "i will be sorry to lose this skin. your brother's got a lot of great qualities. you should appreciate him more than you do." uh...what? the way he ties up sam and plans on torturing him also aligns with the shifter's pattern of turning into the husband and beating up the wife. another HMM moment actually comes from dean himself, when he tells sam that none of his friends will ever understand him and that dean's the only one who can...it's very isolating, kind of abuser tactics, and just. whew. this was episode SIX!!
In the Beginning: come on you knew i was gonna say this. aside from the obvious moments of "mom is a babe" (and remember, dean invokes sam into this moment as well..."sammy, wherever you are..."), samuel!azazel leaning over dean and smelling him, and samuel!azazel kissing mary--passionately returned(?), may i add, the plot itself sets up the winchester family as this enclosed, inbred unit. mary's kiss with her possessed father seal's sam's fate as part of azazel's army. the sexuality she shares with her father makes her son's blood diseased and cursed. the family line is tainted by incest. her kiss is what allows sam and dean to grow up that way, to become so codependent, what allows the moments of avsc, swan song, and playthings to happen! in the beginning. this begins the cycle of selling and saving souls--mary for john, john for dean, dean for sam. it's literally THEE spn episode, perhaps even more than playthings. even though sam's barely in it, his fate hangs over the whole episode, and this is full house of wincest at its finest.

SonallyNShadamy4Ever has returned... Again!
(Please click on pictures for better quality!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SonallyNShadamy4Ever, later known as Sonally4LifeReborn, now going by FinalBossSonally has returned and is harassing me and others once again.
Tumblr media
I don't even have words right now. My stomach honestly feels sick from dread. Once I start feeling better, this parasite shows up and ruins my day. The comment he left on my Alice Tsukagami x Brad Hawk moodboard made me emotionally relapse. This guy is taunting me about my bisexual identity and that I ship Roupaz. I've reported this guy many times, and he keeps coming back and harassing me and others. But let's get this over with.
"Let's be real." (Considering that biology was one of my favorite subjects and still is.)
Incest and asexual reproduction are not the same. Asexual reproduction involves a single parent, resulting in offspring that are genetically identical to each other and to the parent. Incest refers to sexual activity or marriage between close blood relatives, such as siblings, parents, or cousins. Incest involves sexual reproduction; it is not equivalent to asexual reproduction. Incest does not lead to genetically identical offspring; instead, it introduces genetic diversity (albeit with potential risks such as recessive genetic disorders).
So basically, asexual reproduction produces clones, while incest involves sexual reproduction with close relatives. The two processes serve different purposes and have distinct genetic outcomes.
Yes, it is confirmed that Knuckles and Julie Su are distant relatives.
When distant relatives, such as cousins, enter into a romantic relationship, it does not necessarily constitute incest. While forming a relationship with distant relatives is not inherently incestuous, it’s essential to consider both the genetic risks and the legal and cultural context.
There is a difference between being a distant relative and a direct relative. Direct relatives are closely related and share a higher percentage of genetic material; distant relatives have more distant connections within the family tree.
Knuckles and Julie Su are extremely distant cousins—their shared ancestor was several generations ago; they didn’t meet until they were older; and they didn’t learn about their relation until even later.
I don't ship Knuckles and Julie Su because I'm an "incest lover." I liked their relationship because of their interactions with each other and because I thought they made a cute couple. I liked them way before it was revealed that they were distant relatives. That came out way later. I can't control that. I honestly wish that they could've left that part out of the canon entirely. But what can I honestly do about it? It's canon; thanks, Ken Penders.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FinalBossSonally didn't “innocently inquire” about my Sonic the Hedgehog ship memes; he interrogated me about them, demanding to know why I ship them, forcing his own ships on me, and insisting that he was “simply correcting my shipping tastes.”
This guy literally told me—a bisexual woman, that he was “disgusted” by the fact that Roupaz almost became canon, by the fact that they’re an interspecies relationship, and by the fact that Rouge is bisexual. But Sonelise is A-OK because it’s “straight.”
He claims that he's not homophobic/biphobic, but I have cold, hard proof that he is.
Tumblr media
Here he is insulting Kanohi-Zeo for having LGBT headcanons for STH characters and openly admitting that he HATES LGBTQ+. He also ropes in that being a "lesbian" is on the same level as being a pedophile, or something that is illegal. And then he continues to complain as to why they didn't make Knuckles a "female-leaning bisexual," so at least he could be attracted to females because Knuckles' species needs straight male echidnas to repopulate. And then he finishes by calling Kanohi-Zeo disgusting for having these headcanons. If that's not homophobic, then I don't know what is. Aside from it being offensively uneducated stupidity, of course.
So, I didn't respond to his toxic, childish comment, and I blocked him, again.
And as for FinalBossSonally being "my master," FinalBossSonally, you are not the master of anyone; you are a stalking, batshit, psycho, toxic, homophobic, parasite with some serious mental issues. Go touch grass and get some help. I'll be here, having fun in my bisexual hell with my friends~

Oh boy, this is a difficult one.
Just so we are all clear I'm putting this first thing first: this chapter focus heavily on the theme of incest and has an explicit sexual scene between brothers (both over 18, btw), so if this is something you don't like or find in some way disturbing or triggering, please don't read. The central part also delves heavily into the description of bullying incidents and depiction of a toxic home environment. There is no actual scene, this episodes are only mentioned, still if you find this triggering be warned. These bullying incidents are in no way sexual, btw, just to be clear, just old Rex being an asshole as usual.
Yeah, about this chapter and this theme in particular, let's talk about it. I confess that in canon media it's not something I like. If I read a book or watch a movie or a TV series where there are two characters that are related to each other I do not like to read fan fiction where they are depicted having an incestuous relationship. I explain it in the note at the beginning of the chapter, but basically for me familial love is something completely different for romantic/sexual love, and the two can't be compared or confused with each other. Of course (I think is obvious but better be safe than sorry) I do not support incest in real life and I do not want to romanticize it in any way, the only reason I'm writing about is because is a fictional scenario and because my stories are so out of this world and "cartoony" that honestly something like that could probably never happen.
So, that being said, why am I an hypocrite and write incest stories between fictional made up adults while saying I don't like it? Because I created them to be this way. Rex is messed up, he is in no way a "normal" character: he never had a sane relationship with his family, so he never formed that bond of familial love with them, and vice versa the other never saw him as someone actually related to them. Because his situation is so different and his feeling are so complicated I was able to write this chapter, and others still on this line (you want a real incest-fest? Go read ch 28 of this story, "Family beach fun", that is really messed up XP). Rex is supposed to have this feeling that are not of familial love but of sexual attraction towards the members of his family, and because of this I have no problem writing him this way.
Anyway, rant aside, let's talk story, yay! I like how I wrote it. For once I tried to be more touchy feely with a major hurt/comfort vibe. Still there is a lot of sex and I like how I handled it.
Anyway I'm currently having Rex/Mike brainrot (and just Rex/Mike brainrot) and, for some reason, I want to write more stuff about these two, and by that I mean a lot of chapters with just Mike and Rex being dumbasses in love, and of course I can't because "Rex new life" has its own schedule and has to be balanced with the characters in it. Soooooo... I will probably publish a short long/one shot collection with some prompts that will be just Rex/Mike.
What do you think of this idea? Yay or nay? I would probably take some prompts from around Tumblr and such and just publish them.
Wish me luck not to be banned here in doing so, and enjoy this chapter, see ya dudes!!!!!
*****
CHAPTER SUMMARY: The time has finally come for Rex to confront his brother. Will things between the two finally be explained? Will they get their closure? Or is the gap between them so deep that it can never be bridged?

I've written before about some Coffin fans who argue that Andrew and Ashley are only incestuous in Burial/Questionable and why I disagree with this. To sum that, when consummation is the only line they've yet to cross, they've already gone far, far, far beyond the bounds of a normal sibling relationship.
In a similar vein, some fans argue that the Burial/Sane v Questionable division is the player being given the choice as to whether or not Ashley and Andrew's feelings are platonic or romantic.
I wouldn't agree with this take either, and I'll explain why.
Burial/Questionable
Tumblr media
Burial/Sane
Tumblr media
Look at the difference between the two choices themselves.
Note that, everything prior aside, neither option portrays Ashley's feelings for Andrew as platonic. The Burial/Sane still shows Ashley with a broken heart at seeing Andrew and Julia together. That Ashley has romantic desires for Andrew is the same for both portrayals, Questionable and Sane.
So then, the difference is whether Ashley chooses to portray her relationship with Andrew as romantic, with the heart above their heads, or one-sided, with Andrew having that heart with Julia instead.
That being said, this choice seemingly reflects how Ashley sees things - because this is all in Ashley's mind, done without Andrew's input.
If it was Andrew doing the placement, there might be more of an argument to be made that this is the player deciding how Andrew feels about Ashley. But given that it's Ashley, the choice seems to be Ashley deciding what she believes about Andrew's feelings - whether she assumes Andrew may hold romantic affections for her, or if she assumes Andrew has feelings only for Julia.
Adding to this interpretation is the dialogue choice after the vision. If the player picks "Never" - which makes them go into the Sane ending - Ashley thinks to herself that she is just fine with the possibility of a sexual relationship, but that it will never happen specifically because Andrew doesn't want it to.
Or so she assumes, anyway. Since we know that Andrew very much does desire Ashley sexually. Ashley also notes in this ending that Andrew "does come off that way sometimes" due to his "jealous streak". She is here considering that he might have feelings for her in a way she evidently hasn't before.
We have to remember that Ashley's primary issue in her relationship with Andrew is her insecurity. Even as Andrew chooses her time and time again, Ashley still feels convinced he will turn his back on her if given the chance. Burial is her moving past this, of course, but it stands to reason that just because she accepts Andrew won't jump at the chance to abandon her doesn't mean she thinks he returns her romantic feelings...god forbid. After all, Ashley has seemingly never held interest in dating anyone else, while Andrew dated Julia.
So all this raises the question - if the Sane v. Questionable path is based on Ashley's perception of Andrew and not on how Andrew actually feels, who does Andrew hold affections for - Julia or Ashley?
Basically all evidence points to Ashley. Andrew put Ashley ahead of Julia time and time again to the point Julia left him. Andrew admits he isn't bothered by the fact he will never see Julia again, in contrast to how he aggressively resists separating from Ashley in any regard. The devlog for Ep3 strongly implies Andrew only started dating Julia to dodge rumors of him and Ashley being a couple. And then, the cherry on top is the sad expression he had embracing Julia, only to perk up when he suggests making Julia look more like Ashley.
So ultimately, Andrew and Ashley do hold romantic feelings for one another, before and during all three routes. The dividing line between Questionable and Sane, then, would seem to be whether or not Ashley opens herself up to Andrew returning her feelings, or if she continues to assume he doesn't.
As to where Burial/Sane will go from here? I would assume that it will either have Andrew and Ashley's relationship stay the same or move in a more platonic direction - while emphasizing that they are less happy with this outcome than the alternative presented in Questionable - or it will ultimately have them accepting their feelings anyway, just taking more time to get to that point than Burial/Questionable.

I just finished watching "The Wire" for the first time recently, it's very gritty and realistic so obviously anything somewhat fanciful like incest ships are not particularly realistic or anything the writers/creators even remotely intended, but I do think there is something interesting in the first few seasons regarding the relationship between the three Barksdales (Avon, Brianna, and D'Angelo). Avon is more or less the main the villain of the first few seasons, D'Angelo is his nephew who is a bit of a reluctant protagonist of the first season, and Brianna is Avon's sister and D'Angelo's mom who knows everything going on and basically acts as her brother's financial advisor and her son's mentor as they both try to progress in the Baltimore drug game. Avon basically treats his nephew as a son the whole time they interact together. When Brianna is first introduced in a later episode of the first season, she drives past D'Angelo as he's maintaining his area to sell drugs and drops off a lunch for him. One of D'Angelo's friends mentions how attractive she is and asks him if that's his new girlfriend, to which D'Angelo balks and replies that, no, that's his mom. The relationship between Brianna and D'Angelo eventually becomes strained as she is eventually revealed as being 100% involved in her. brother Avon's drug empire and helps manage the books and money for him, and eventually convinces her son to do time in prison to help maintain their family legacy in an act that pretty clearly betrays him (the main cop protagonist later calls her out on being a horrible mother who basically betrayed her son in favor of her drug kingpin brother in of the most satisfying scenes of season 2).
Avon and Brianna eventually become somewhat strained themselves despite their earlier sibling loyalty, but one thing that I think is important is that Brianna is a single mother and at no point it is ever revealed or hinted it who D'Angelo's actual father is. Obviously the writers and creators of The Wire had zero intention to try to suggest that he is the result of an incestuous union between the siblings, and we spend enough time with Avon over the course of the series that if something monumentally taboo like that was a part of his life we would know about it, but the way they structured it certainly doesn't completely deconfirm it and allows for some leeway for those who want to fancanon
Even if the writers didn't intend it, it sounds like a very satisfying headcanon nevertheless. Aside from the relationships becoming strained/falling apart, I love this kind of dynamic, with the uncle being invested in his nephew and his sister being a big presence in his life.
Thanks for all of these details!

wait how did stj wreck his career?
I assume this is about Aaron Taylor Johnson's wife?
I mean, I don't have direct knowledge of this, but it's pretty clear that Hollywood literally doesn't know how to handle him because you can't promote Aaron without acknowledging his wife... Who very likely met him when he was underage, cast him in her movie (Nowhere Boy) when he was 17-18, and subsequently got with him while she was in her 40s and he was 18. It's something people weren't comfortable with in 2009, and that has only become more difficult for people to grapple with as time has gone by.
To be super blunt, conventional wisdom is that young up and comers, especially men, should be single when they first become Known in Hollywood. That way, they can meet with other young up and comers, get buzz for their relationships, and either become known for being bon vivant bachelors a la Leo and Chris Evans, or pair up with a high calibre woman and promote themselves as a dual entity (Zendaya and Tom Holland, much as I think she could do better). So in general? It's a good idea to be single if you're a guy as hot and talented as Aaron, who totally would've been promoted as the Sexy Supertalented Artist.
But not only was he not single, which could be tackled--in interviews, you had this thorny background issue of... How do we discuss his wife... Who is 24 years his senior, hooked up with him when he was a literal teenager, and subsequently had two kids with him in his twenties so that he is now basically... locked in with her forever on some level. It feels really, really uncomfortable. And I don't think Sam is super well-liked in certain circles, her being a groomer aside.
Of course, you could argue that Sam being the older party as the woman made people regard this with more disgust than they would if she was the man, but like--I'm not gonna cry in my cereal about it. And I mean... Even a lot of the skeeziest Hollywood hitters still wait until the girl is like, over 21 to make the relationship known (no cookies, just acknowledging the "unsaid rule" with all that). Aaron was a baby, and you can see it in the movie, which SHE DIRECTED--and Nowhere Boy actually features an excellent performance from him, but it also acts as like... A visual record of him being groomed. You know she's behind the camera. You know she's directing this (sometimes very sexual) content. You can see how incredibly young he is up close and personal.
Oh--Nowhere Boy also dwells very heavily on John Lennon's (real) mommy issues, and speculates on what is essentially a pseudo-incestuous relationship between him and his mom. So. That kind of. Adds to the skeevy effect.
She's also *rumored* to be super controlling of his career choices, not wanting him to play opposite certain women. There aren't a lot of romantic lead roles in his filmography, unless you count Anna Karenina. There have been rumors about him fucking around on Sam, and in general the gossip has always been that she doesn't like him hanging around hot women his own age. God forbid he escapes the woman who again, starting fucking him when he was 18! And she was 42! As his director!

Murder Mystery dream
Had a dream about a murder mystery where the detectives were an incestuous sibling couple. I don't think I could ever turn it into a story (I don't think I could do a murder mystery is the big part), so I thought I'd share. Basically, the idea was as follows:
They were from somewhere distant, another country probably, just stopping in the area while travelling briefly because distant family was in the area, like second or third cousins or something, but the family they met got super excited and invited them to a dinner which turned into a BIG dinner (which may have already been planned) with the whole local big family possibly at a mansion or something... only, of course, a murder happens.
Now the couple have to scramble to find the killer not just for their own safety (in case the killer strikes again) but for worries that if people look too closely into their history, everyone will discover their incestuous affair (maybe in the early "We're just staying for a few minutes" phase, one of them described them as siblings, the other as dating, to different people... or merely they presented themselves as dating except both of them separately described themselves as the grandchild of 'your great-uncle John who moved to a different continent' to different people). So they have to solve the mystery first before any suspicion can turn on them. Maybe needs some excuse why the cops can't arrive right away (set on an island with a storm/the killer knocking out communications too cliche?) and a reason for them to 'take charge' of the investigation (aside from being the only one there having no obvious motive yet, having never met the victim).
Complications may arise including discovery of another incesty affair among the 'local' branch of the family, which is ALSO not connected to the motive for the murder. Maybe if the "we're both grandchildren of great-Uncle John" thing is the inconsistency in their story, a mid-story revelation where they discover that it wasn't just gone unnoticed, people picked up on it right away... but everyone just assumed it's a cousin relationship at first and although they are gossiping about it madly behind the scenes and make the occasional snide remark, are mildly okay with that, assuming that in other countries it wasn't a big deal... but that only gives a bit of breathing room because most of them would still be scandalized if they figured out the detectives were siblings and in love.

I don't really vibe with the anti-M*leven takes that characterize the ship as incestuous (come on) or paints Mike and/or El as toxic (beyond, like, the inherent toxicity of being fifteen years old). For me, it all comes down to thinking they should break up because they're fifteen and their relationship has run its course. They care about each other, but, romantically speaking, I think she mostly just wanted to explore the normal teenage experience of having a boyfriend and is ready to move on. Probably she would have stayed broken up with Mike in S3 if she hadn't been grieving over losing Hopper and moving away from most of her friends. As for Mike, I think a few things could be going on, including:
He's gay but doesn't fully realize it (and had even less realization of it in the earlier seasons). He first made things romantic with El out of a belief that it was the normal thing to do, and probably simple curiosity as well. As of S4, he's in love with Will (unconsciously?) and having serious doubts about his relationship with El. This, I think, is maybe the most natural/elegant option, but I'm not 100% sure the show has the balls.
He's bi but doesn't fully realize it (and had even less realization of it in the earlier seasons). He genuinely had a crush on El in early seasons, but he didn't know her that well and spent a long time apart from her, so he built up an ideal El and an ideal relationship in his head, which clashed with the reality, where they don't actually have a lot of shared interests or priorities. As of S4, he would rather be with Will in his heart of hearts, but he's not fully ready to give up on the relationship with El that he "should" want. This is what I call the Nancy Wheeler Option, and I think it's also good.
He's straight and had/has a genuine crush on El, but he still put her on a pedestal and found that the reality of the relationship didn't match the ideal in his head. He's not happy with her, but he has low self-esteem re: his looks, abilities, and character, and can't quite wrap his head around the idea of breaking up with a beautiful, remarkable girl when he perceives himself as her inferior. Issues of representation aside, I don't think this is quite as elegant plot-wise as the first two options, because it's unclear how Will's feelings for Mike would come into play, but it has its virtues.
Anyway, they very much remind me of Sam Weir and Cindy Sanders from the show Freaks and Geeks, where geeky, late-blooming freshman Sam puts nice, pretty cheerleader Cindy on a pedestal before she dates him on the rebound from her ex, at which point he discovers that they don't have a lot in common. Not that El is much like Cindy (who takes after her parents' hard-hearted conservatism and is actually not that nice to Sam), but there's still a story about not staying with a person just because you "should," on paper, want to be with them.

Why is Klave soooo boring
I ship Kliktor over it
Aside from there being no accounting for personal taste, it's likely because Dave has barely any personality, barely any presence, and little to really connect to. He exists to further Klaus' development. If he were a woman, people would be crying sexism. We only know him through Klaus' dreamy sigh. Unless you can personally connect to his sexuality crisis and pull a fully-developed character from that, there's little to really latch onto. There's also the benefit of him being one of the few ships that is not in any way, shape, or form incestuous nor can one stretch the definition of incest to consider it so. (well. anyone can stretch anything but i'll be as impressed as I am exasperated and neither will make me take it seriously). Which isn't to say it needs to be incestuous to be interesting (I personally don't care. I really don't care. It's not a factor in whether or not I ship something. If anything, prolonged incest angst as a plot bores me). but it's definitely part of why Klave is so popular.
As for Klaus/Victor. This is the first time i've heard it be called by a ship name that wasn't Vlaus (which I made up on my own because I couldn't find a ship name and I love them). Of course you ship them over it. They're adorable and have so much potential. My thoughts are likely still pretty high up in the vlaus tag considering how much attention that ship gets. (too little. So underappreciated. it's a little sad tbh. If I hadn't been consumed by wyler, i'd likely be writing vlaus fic rn)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean c'mon. I want Klaus to be a bad influence on him. I want Klaus to recognize that Viktor is using drugs like he is and being a good influence on him. Viktor realizing he's trans sooner. Or the opposite end of things. Klaus making Viktor feel so chill about gender that he doesn't notice he's trans until way later the same way I was so chill about sexuality that I didn't notice I wasn't straight for way longer than I should've.

@jonsatin reblogged your post “Something that I wonder if future stories,...”
#religion in asoiaf #the faith #fire and blood #house targaryen #I don’t have much thought on this because we haven’t seen a very pious targaryen #those we’ve seen in dunk & egg were bred to buy into their own mythos and happy to do so. and dany was the exception but that’s because she #grew up a fugitive and divorced from the sort of targaryen affirming education viserys received #it’s interesting! pious targaryens are a bit of a contradiction in that sense #what does it mean to be a targaryen uninterested enough in targaryen supremacy that you would be willing to adore a god ? #like that’s really really interesting!
The thing is, there were very pious Targaryens in history, if not so much among those we’ve seen in narrative format. (That goes in part to a larger annoyance of mine about ASOIAF, in terms of a general lack of piety among aristocrats, but that’s somewhat beyond the point here.) More specifically, I find it really interesting that three of the most pious Targaryens in the history of the dynasty - “Baelor, that pious gentle septon-king who loved the smallfolk and the gods in equal parts”, his sister Rhaena, who “was almost as pious as her brother, and in time became a septa”, and their cousin Naerys, who “loved the Seven as dearly as she loved her brother [i.e. Prince Aemon], if not more so, and might have been a septa if her lord father had allowed it” and who was “devout as well, and often found solace in the pages of The Seven-Pointed Star“ - were all born and grew up in the era when the Targaryen dragons seem to have been growing fewer, smaller, and weaker (and did in fact die out, at least for the better part of a century and a half). I really want to see whether, for these three, witnessing firsthand the decline and extinction of the Targaryen dragons impacted their religious feelings. If the entire point of the Doctrine of Exceptionalism - an official tenet of the Faith since the time of Jaehaerys I, around a century before - was that dragonriding made the Targaryens special enough to excuse them from the Faith’s prohibitions against incest, then what would someone raised in the Faith think of the family’s standing with the gods as there were no more dragons to be ridden, and then no more dragons at all? (Because, of course, the princes and princesses of this generation were still presumably being raised to worship the Seven, as the Targaryens had since the time of Aegon the Conqueror; the Doctrine of Exceptionalism didn’t mean that the Targaryens were officially equal to the Seven, just that they were excused from a certain proscription of the Seven.) Old enough to witness and remember the draconic decline and extinction - Baelor was around nine when the last dragon died, Rhaena around six, Naerys around 15 - but still young enough to be affected by that event, these three individuals may have had their religious feelings permanently shaped by the death of their family’s dragons.
So like I said, I’m very curious how these three felt about the Doctrine of Exceptionalism in that context. Indeed, both Naerys and Baelor struggled with forced incestuous marriages, and both tried to get out of them: Naerys asked Aegon, following the birth of Daeron, to “live henceforth as brother and sister” with her (and may have even “begged Aegon to have the Faith release her from her marriage vows so she could become a septa”), but was refused; Baelor refused to consummate his marriage with Daena and eventually had it put aside altogether. I would be very interested to see if Naerys and Baelor did so because they saw the Doctrine of Exceptionalism as a sort of heresy, especially after the decline and death of the dragons: clearly, perhaps they believed, the gods had cast down the dragons because the Targaryens had openly flaunted their sinful practice of incest and used the dragons to justify it, so to engage in an incestuous marriage, and the sexual relationship a marriage necessitated, would only be to risk the wroth of the gods further. (Bonus points if whatever we see of Baelor’s reign includes an attempt to formally revoke the Doctrine, only to have it quietly reinstalled by the Faith following his possible murder.) I’m also curious if Baelor passed on what he might have felt about the Doctrine of Exceptionalism to Rhaena, who in turn may have followed his lead in considering it sinful and heretical; maybe her desire to enter the Faith was, she felt, a sort of contrition for the sins, especially incestuous sins, of past Targaryens, herself offered as a sacrifice to the gods so that they would stay their hand against House Targaryen. That’s not to say any of these were absolutely the case, again, but I can’t get my mind off the idea that the death of the dragons impacted the religious feelings of each.

✨Conspiracy theory/head cannon✨
Okay, so, hear me out;
Iruma Jyuto and Rei Amayado are brothers.
Think about it; Both are tall handsome men with black/brown hair and green eyes. Both dress more formally than casually. Both hold themselves in a way that shows that they think they're better than you.
More than any of that though, is that they both have a (learned or inherited) habit/skill of gaining information on any and everyone around them in order to benefit themselves. Rei does this in being a conman/information broker, with learning info on everyone he meets to get an income and pull the strings in the government. Jyuto does this by being a dirty cop and getting info from/for cases and using it as blackmail against his enemies in order to push him up the ranks and eventually pull the strings in the justice system.
While their behavior is uncanny, they're appearances are just as (if not more) surprising when you look at it in detail.
Family resemblance:
Both men have bright green eyes. Hypnosis Mic has exciting and unique character designs that are barely ever slap-dash, they're thought through thoroughly. Yet both Jyuto and Rei have green eyes that are the exact same color. The only other character in the hypmic cast (aside from the buster bros!!!) with green eyes is Yumeno Gentaro, and his are noticeably a much yellower and lighter green. Jyuto and Rei's green eyes are identical. Jyuto may not have the family heterochromia, but even if he did, he'd be the type to cover up the other side with a contact of a more mundane color (in this case, green). Moreover, the hypmic artstyle gives character's two eye colors anyway, and Jyuto's is a pink-ish purple. Aka, not any of the colors of the yamada family tree (Grey, red, yellow, and indago). All of them have a unique color to go with the green, and Jyuto follows that rule.
Admitably, Rei is tanner than Jyuto. But does that mean that we think Rei hasn't had a fake (or real) tan done recently?? Plus, Jyuto is a vampire in spirit and doesn't go outside durring the day unless the government is physically forcing him to do so. (No really, watch Rhyme Anima, the only scene he's in where it's not night or inside, is when MTC arrives at Chuuohku for the 1st drb.) Anyway, even though Jyuto is considerably paler than Rei, their undertones are the same. They both have an orange-red undertone. But this isn't an artsyle thing. For example, Aohitsugi Samatoki has a much pinker undertone and Sasara Nurude has a much more yellow undertone. It's subtle, but it's there.
Their outfits are the same color scheme: Black, white/gray, wine red, with gold accents. Jyuto wears a black suit, grey undershirt, wine red gloves and shoes with a gold watch, tie pin, and collar pin. Rei wears a black coat, white pants, a wine red shirt with gold shoes, necklace, belt, and watch. And again, both men have those bright green eyes that are the Yamada's family trademark and black/brown hair.
Jyuto can be seen in the buster bros!!!. Jyuto being Rei's brother also makes him Ichiro, Jiro, and Saburo's uncle. The rest of BB is very pale, and depending on the lighting, indistinguishable from Jyuto's skin tone. Saburo also has many similarities between himself, Rei, and Jyuto. Saburo's eye's are not quite as angular as Jyuto's, but are considerably more angler compared to his brother who have flatter eyes, (like Rei). Of course that could be from Saburo's mother, but... Throughout the manga, Saburo and Jyuto also react to problems in a very similar way, even sharing expressions to the dot in the BB & MTC+ manga.
I have more points but I will spare you, reader.
What this means:
*I do not ship all of the relationships below, I just listed ones that this headcanon would affect*
Ichiro, Jiro, and Saburo are Jyuto's nephews
(If Jyuto x Jiro shipper) That ship becomes not only pedophilic, but incestuous =D
(If Samatoki x Ichiro shipper) (If Samatoki x Jyuto) Samatoki has fucked *been with* Jyuto's nephew and Ichiro's uncle alike... :l
Samatoki wants to kill Jyuto's nephew
(If Samatoki x Jyuto shipper) Samatoki wants to kill his boyfriend's nephew... and they're just sort of... fine with that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Rei tans
Details (in my opinion):
Jyuto hates his brother
Rei couldn't care less he's 16 years older
Jyuto technically knows that BB are his nephew's, but has never had any family interaction except for meeting Ichiro once when he was a newborn, so he doesn't care and doesn't mention it
BB is unaware that Jyuto is their uncle
Jyuto has heterochromic pink-ish purple and green eyes but covers it up with a contact
