What is the most powerful fertility acupuncture point?
One of the most commonly cited and powerful acupuncture points for fertility is "Zigong" (CV6), which is often referred to as the "Uterus Point" or "Palace of the Child." This point is specifically targeted in acupuncture treatments for both male and female fertility. It's located about three finger widths below the navel, along the midline of the body.
Stimulating this point is believed to help regulate the reproductive organs, improve blood flow to the uterus, and balance hormones, all of which can support fertility. Additionally, it is often used in combination with other fertility acupuncture points such as:
Spleen 6 (SP6): Located on the inner leg above the ankle, SP6 is thought to help nourish the reproductive organs, regulate menstrual cycles, and support overall hormonal balance.
Kidney 3 (K3): Found near the inner ankle, K3 is associated with nourishing the Kidney energy, which in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is considered a key factor in reproductive health.
Stomach 36 (ST36): Located on the lower leg, this point boosts overall vitality and energy, which can support fertility by enhancing digestion and Qi flow.
The effectiveness of these points can vary based on individual needs, so treatments are usually tailored to the person's specific fertility challenges.

Closure
Last night, our fertility doctor called to talk about the genetic results. She said she thought that if there was an increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities, it was very low, so we shouldn’t worry about trying to test the 2 frozen embryos we have. We can get started on a FET cycle whenever we’re ready.
Then this morning, I met with the genetics counselor. She confirmed what our fertility doctor said. The baby had trisomy 14, and I do have an increased risk of some sort of trisomy or chromosomal abnormality in the future. But basically, it went from 1 in 250 to 1 in 125, so still less than 1%. Phew.
Also, she was a girl. Sigh. I haven’t decided how I feel about that news, but I asked, and they told me.
I’m glad that we finally have bit of closure on this whole process. We know why it happened, and we know what our next steps are. Now, we can spend our time focusing on other things while we wait for my next cycle to start.
I’ve already messaged the fertility clinic about setting up a consultation to discuss the frozen embryo transfer cycle for when we get back from vacation, but for now, we just relax and enjoy each other’s company. We head off tomorrow for a week long Southern road trip: Asheville, Charleston, Savannah and Atlanta. I’m definitely looking forward to it.

Did Acupuncture for Fertility Really Help Me Get Pregnant?
Tumblr media
Determining whether acupuncture specifically helped you get pregnant can be complex, as fertility is influenced by a multitude of factors. However, many people attribute their success to acupuncture due to its potential benefits. Here are some points to consider when assessing the impact of acupuncture on your fertility journey:
1. Timing of Treatment
If you received acupuncture treatments consistently and became pregnant soon after, it’s possible that acupuncture played a role. The timing of your acupuncture sessions in relation to your menstrual cycle and fertility treatments (like IVF) is also important.
2. Physical and Emotional Changes
Reflect on any physical and emotional changes you experienced during acupuncture treatment. Did you notice:
Improved menstrual cycle regularity?
Reduced stress and anxiety levels?
Enhanced overall well-being?
These changes can positively impact fertility.
3. Combination with Other Treatments
Consider if you were undergoing other fertility treatments simultaneously, such as IVF, medication, or lifestyle changes (diet, exercise). Acupuncture is often used in conjunction with these treatments, making it challenging to isolate its specific effects.
4. Feedback from Your Practitioner
Discuss your progress and any changes observed with your acupuncturist. Practitioners often track specific improvements in their patients, such as hormone levels, endometrial thickness, and stress reduction, which can indicate acupuncture's effectiveness.
5. Scientific Evidence and Studies
While scientific evidence on acupuncture's effectiveness in improving fertility is mixed, several studies suggest potential benefits. For example, some research indicates that acupuncture can improve blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, reduce stress, and enhance IVF success rates.
6. Personal Experience and Anecdotal Evidence
Many individuals report positive outcomes from acupuncture, citing it as a key factor in their fertility journey. Personal testimonials and anecdotal evidence, though not scientifically conclusive, provide insight into acupuncture's potential benefits.
Conclusion
While it's challenging to definitively say that acupuncture alone was the deciding factor in your pregnancy, it likely contributed positively, especially if you experienced notable physical and emotional improvements. Acupuncture is often part of a holistic approach to fertility, complementing other treatments and lifestyle changes. Discussing your experience with your healthcare provider and acupuncturist can provide further clarity and reassurance.
Asheville Fertility Clinic can help maximize your chances of success and make the process easier, not just physically but emotionally as well!  At EAWB we work with women and couples who are having trouble conceiving or have been diagnosed with conditions impacting their reproductive health.

What is Gua Sha? What are its specific benefits?
Gua sha is a traditional Chinese healing technique that involves scraping the skin with a massage tool to promote circulation and lymphatic drainage. The term “gua sha” translates to “scraping” or “press-stroking” in English. While it has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine, it has gained popularity in recent years as a beauty and wellness practice.
The main tool used in gua sha is typically made of smooth, flat material such as jade, rose quartz, or buffalo horn, although modern versions may also be made of stainless steel or other materials. Practitioners use the tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin in specific strokes, typically on the face or body.
Some specific benefits of gua sha include:
Improved circulation: Gua sha helps to stimulate blood flow to the skin, which can promote healing, reduce inflammation, and give the skin a healthy glow.
Lymphatic drainage: The scraping motion of gua sha can help to stimulate the lymphatic system, which is responsible for removing toxins and waste from the body. This can help to reduce puffiness and improve the overall health of the skin.
Muscle tension relief: Facial Gua sha can help to release tension in the muscles, which can be particularly beneficial for those who suffer from tightness in the neck, shoulders, or jaw.
Facial sculpting: Regular gua sha practice is believed to help sculpt and tone the face by promoting lymphatic drainage and stimulating collagen production.
Stress relief: The gentle scraping motion of gua sha can have a calming and soothing effect on the body, helping to reduce stress and promote relaxation.
Improved product absorption: Gua sha is often performed with a facial oil or serum, which can help to hydrate the skin and improve product absorption.
Overall, gua sha is valued not only for its physical benefits but also for its ability to promote a sense of relaxation and well-being. However, it’s essential to approach gua sha cautiously, particularly if you have sensitive skin or certain health conditions. It’s always a good idea to consult a qualified practitioner before trying any new wellness practice.

Why are fertility clinics important?
Fertility clinics play a crucial role in helping individuals and couples achieve their dreams of starting a family when they face challenges with conception. Here's why they're important:
Expertise and Assistance: Fertility clinics are staffed with reproductive endocrinologists, fertility specialists, nurses, and other professionals who are highly trained in diagnosing and treating infertility issues. They provide personalized care and guidance tailored to each individual or couple's needs.
Diagnostic Services: Fertility clinics offer a range of diagnostic tests and procedures to identify the underlying causes of infertility. These may include blood tests, ultrasound scans, semen analysis, and more advanced techniques like genetic testing.
Treatment Options: Once the cause of infertility is identified, fertility clinics offer various treatment options tailored to the specific needs of the patients. These treatments may include fertility medications, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), donor egg or sperm options, and more advanced procedures such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) or preimplantation genetic testing.
Emotional Support: Dealing with infertility can be emotionally challenging. Fertility clinics provide counseling and support services to help individuals and couples navigate the emotional rollercoaster that often accompanies fertility treatment.
Cutting-Edge Technology: Fertility clinics often have access to the latest advances in reproductive technology, allowing them to offer state-of-the-art treatments and procedures that may increase the chances of successful conception.
Education and Awareness: Fertility clinics also play a role in educating the public about reproductive health and fertility issues. They raise awareness about the factors that can affect fertility and promote proactive measures to preserve fertility for those who may wish to start a family in the future.
Asheville alternative medicine, fertility clinics provide essential medical, emotional, and educational support to individuals and couples struggling with infertility, offering hope and assistance on their journey to parenthood.
