Loki: God of Mischief with a will to rule Asgard

Real Name: Loki Laufeyson Occupation: God of Mischief; later God of Evil Base: Asgard Height: 6ft 4in Weight: 525ibs Eyes: Green Hair: Black-gray First Appearance: Journey Into Mystery Vol. 1 #85 (October 1962)

Powers: Enhanced strength, stamina, longevity, and limited invulnerability; uses his vast skills in sorcery to fly, generate force fields, teleport between dimensions, animate objects, and chane his own shape.

Loki was born the son of Laufey, king of the Frost Giants of Jotunheim. Ashamed of Loki’s small size, Laufey hid him away, but te child’s existence came to light after the Frost Giants were defeated in a battle with the Asgardians. Odin, the ruler of Asgard, discovered Loki in the Frost Giants’ fortress. Realizing that Loki was the son of Laufey, a king whom he had slain, Odin took the boy back to Asgard and raised him as his own son.

Asgard’s Misfit:

Loki never fitted in among the inhabitants of Asgard. He nursed a virulent grudge against his stepbrother Thor, the God of Thunder, who possessed in abundance the heroic qualities prizes by the Asgardians that Loki himself lacked. Jealous of the praise Odin showered on Thor, Loki took up the dark arts of sorcery and plotted for a way to become ruler of Asgars. His love of trickery earned him a reputation first as the God kf Mishief, and then, as he grew more and more cruel, the God of Evil. After many attempts by Loki to ursurp the throne of Asgard, Odin lost patience with him and imprisoned him within a mystical tree. He eventually free himself and went in search of Thor, who was then living on Earth in the mortal guise of Donald Blake.

The End of Asgard:

Thor and his adopted home, Earth, became the focus of Loki’s attentions. He precipitated the formation of the Avengers by inciting the Hulk to violence, and transformed Crusher Creel into Thor’s foe, the Absorbing Man. He allied with the Enchantress, and turned Earth’s major Super Villains into his pawns during the Acts of Vengeance conspiracy. Loki finally conquered Asgard and remade it in his own image. But Thor succeeded in decapitatin Loki, carrying his mystically-preserved head to observe the final act of Ragnoral. When Thor severed the tapestry that wove the reality of his dimension, Asgaed and all of its inhabitants vanished from existence. After Ragnorok, Loki returned and took the body of the goddess Sif. Soon after, he fooled Thor into killing his grandfather Bor and being banished from the new Asgard. He also joined the Cab formed by Norman Osborn in the wake of the Secret Invasion. He is currently trying to relocate the Asgardians to Dr. Doom’s Latveria.

Essential Storylines: -Avengers #1 — Loki hatches a plot to destroy his brother Thor, accidentally inspiring the world’a greatest heroes to form the Avengers. -Loki #1-4 — in this limited series, told from Loki’s point of view, the Trickster God temporarily succeeds in winning power over all of Asgard. -The Mighty Thor #582-588 — As Ragnarok unfolds around them, Loki and Thor face off for their final battle, then tour the end of the world.

Came Across Asgardiangodoftricksandlies!

As she usually did, Vader walked around the luxurious bell lieu of the royal palace, reading one of the mysterious scrolls of the great library. Out loud, she read about a family of gods: Odin, Thor and Loki. She briefly understood the reading, as the roll was written in french, and she hadn't mastered this language quite well.

---Aaagh, these untitled rolls from the great library are hard to read! Why do these come in so many languages, they were not even originally written in?! Is this some translation from the actual piece?

She sagh and looked up, to find herself at an empty street of Asgard. How did she got there? Easy: she had walked through one of the many portals that connect the worlds. So sucked in the reading she was, to not notice this!
