Explore London

I was lucky enough in my childhood to spend a good deal of time traveling with my family throughout the UK and Europe, walking cities end to cities end through countless museums, galleries, and estates. Tirelessly, we were out to see it all and my teenage and young adult life greatly benefitted from those experiences. And that exploration ferver never dwindled to anything less than a roaring and raging fire in my heart. Now that I am reaching the end of my ArtSpotter internship and the end of my first solo trip of a significant length of time, I find myself reflecting on not only my 3 months in London, but on my childhood exploring and everything I still intend to see.

This week I have compiled a collection of my favorite tried and true locations around the city, galleries introduced to me by ArtSpotter, and of course things I'm still anxious to see. From the Serpentine Gallery in Kensington Gardens (a gallery right in the heart of my all time favorite place in the world) to my first gallery interview at the Camden Arts Centre, Art Catlin and my first art awards reception, to the British Museum one of the first significant museums of my childhood, and to the Wimbledon Space near my South London home...here is an idea of what I've been up to. I cannot wait to be back.

Sydney is a rich art hub, offering lots to see by way of contemporary and modern galleries, while also supporting aboriginal culture and art. The Aboriginal & Pacific Art Gallery works with art centres and advisors to select and present work by contemporary aboriginal artists from around Australia. And if a metaphysical orchestration of colour is what you’re looking for this week, Olsen Irwin Gallery currently has an exhibition of brightly coloured Michael Johnson. No matter what you’re searching or meandering the city for, Sydney has a lot to offer, but many of these exhibitions are reaching their final week so get out there and get spotting!

Fin DAC Interview, City Guide, & Competition!

A few weeks ago we mentioned a desire to do some further work with London-based urban artist Fin DAC and by golly everything came together wonderfully!

Explore Vancouver

With a rainy week ahead for the wonderful city of Vancouver, we’ve created a diverse collection of galleries right in the heart of downtown. Escape the rain and absorb the art at the Vancouver Art Gallery currently featuring an incredible selection of works by Art Spiegelman, or the non-profit artist run Unit/Pitt Gallery. And if you’ve got a family with younger ones, Art Starts provides innovate art programs for young people in schools and at their gallery space with free weekend workshops!

It's about art galleries, public art, street art, fairs, popup shops, studios, student shows and everything in between.  

Art can be found anywhere! Artspotter will work all over the world from Day 1. We’ll be spotting London first but it doesn’t stop you from adding something in Croatia or the Caribbean.  

Follow what you love! If you think someone is good at adding art to the map, follow them! If you like a gallery and the exhibitions they put on, follow them! That way you’ll be easily able to see what’s going on from the people and places you like.  

Anything can be art! But not everything is art. The map won’t stop you from adding anything, but if you want to be credited as a good ArtSpotter, adding good spots will build you a good reputation.  

Art is a part of society. It is a reflection of what is going on in culture, society, politics and life in general.There is art out there for everyone and Artspotter intends to bring art to everyone.
