what is the tekken community opinion of Neegan are you a pariah because of your main or are people chill. is Neegan a high tier character. is he "cheap" whats the deal

at low levels, negan is EXTREMELY strong. armors through whatever, launches you for nothing. this makes noobs think he is overpowered. in a way, it IS cheesy.

at a high level he is very honest. a lot of his ��iconic” moves are easily counterable or unsafe and his kit is limited and small compared to many characters. but the moves that he DOES have are still solid, and he has some amazing generic tools, good movement, and good frames.

some people say he is high tier, some say he is high-mid, some say mid, some say low, some say bottom (!) due to how solvable he is. none say he is top tier besides noobs .

a top player, arslan ash - maybe best in the world, absolutely the best in pakistan IMO - puts negan firmly in A tier. i outlined why i think this in a previous post (i really need to find a vid or tweet where he explains i know it’s out there) but a lot of pakistani pros have pocket negans. they think he’s cool and he has a good matchup against akuma, who is SSS tier, and also popular in pakistan. they also are absolute fucking gods of the poking/jailing/movement gameplay that forms his high level gameplan.

i personally think he’s high-mid tier and although his issues are glaring, i love competing with him and winning with him. like the entire cast he’s still viable. it is absolutely possible to beat the literal best players (knee, arslan ash) with negan. knee plays negan, though he plays higher tier characters during tournies typically, like feng. there are no comparable players that are solo negan mains. (top level solo mains are rare but they exist. anakin is the best na player debatably and mains jack). that’s the most “pariah like” thing about me is that i’m basically a negan solo main - my jack is ALMOST as good arguably but i prefer to keep repping negan

on the real good players are actually chill about negan they do get mad losing to certain things thoufh just like anyone. eating a fat “not cool” to the face sucks shit but that’s no different from eating a fucking bryan’s fisherman hook or eating hwoarang’s backlash. many pros just have an opinion on his inclusion mirroring the wider public. some think he doesn’t fit or is annoying some people think he’s cool

plenty think he is “cheesy” because he has a lot of voice lines during the game. jin doesn’t Say anything during the match. neither does jack. not even when they rage art. just intros/outros (for jack). now that i think about it, lot of silent characters.

negan is constantly talking. he says “shit” and “god damn” while getting hit. multiple times during combos. he has phrases while doing certain moves. no exceptions! not cool! holy smokes! feels good, sounds good. iiits ooover! oh my goodness!! he even chuckles AT you. his intros and outros are very fucking long

so, he’s polarizing. has a high play rate at low levels, and a low play rate at high levels. lots of people love him, lots of people hate him - much like many new tekken characters, like fakhumram, kunimitsu, lucky chloe, etc. i adore his insane inclusion in the game, he is swag as fuck and extremely fun to play, hope the moveset returns for 8 even if the character doesn’t OR we get some other equally insane character like tony soprano or will graham or zagreus or one of the jacked guys from white lotus season 2

Yoshitaka worked :first worked on the anime adaptation of speed racer.

He got to land a job role in the animation industry at the age of 15.

He was also the creator of iconic characters such as : Gatchaman, Tekkaman: The Space Knight, Hutch the Honeybee and Casshan.

Not only did he work on illustrations of characters but also worked designing logos.

He Has collaborate with many writers and would work on illustrations for 20 books that have sold millions of copies.

Then in 1982 he went to becoming an independent freelance artist, and worked in bestselling novels such Hideyuki Kikuchi's Vampire Hunter D, Kaoru Kurimonto's Guin Saga, Yoshiki Tanaka's Arslan Chronicals, and Rasen-O (Spiral King) and Chimera by Baku Yumemakura.

He is also known for his commissioned illustrations for the game franchise know as final fantasy.

Then in the 1984 he would start working with an director known as Mamoru Oshii  were they worked on an animated film called angels eggs which became a big hit in Japan.

In the 1980s he would start working on concept illustrations for video games, his first project being final fantasy which become an international hit.

He would also create character designs  for games Front Mission, Gun Hazard, Rebus (released asKartia in the US), and Emblem of Eru (to be released in Japan by Capcom.)

You know what? I just wanted to post some pretty pictures, but you might be on to something.

So, like meep suggested. This is Evo Moment 37.

Evo is this annual fighting game event where pro fighting game players gather each summer for the finals in whatever fitting game is currently hot. The games in my original post were actually this year's lineup!

Moment 37 was when Daigo Umehara (the Ken player in the above video) successfully parried every single hit of Chun-Li's super (played by Justin Wong) during the Street Fighter III: Third Strike tournament at Evo 2004 and eventually won the game. This requires very precise timing and if a single hit had landed Daigo would have lost as he had a slither of health left. As such, it is considered a very iconic moment in the FGC (the Fighting Game Community) and is forever talked about.

This is another very cool video I wanna share.

Basically the guy talks about how he wasn't very interested in fighting games but around the time Street Fighter IV came out he came across a video full of hype moments that peaked his interest and later proceeds to give suggestions on how to learn to appreciate fighting games and having fun while doing it.

Then there's Core-A-Gaming, having possibly produced the most extensive series of video essays on fighting games. His entire channel is worth a watch, I regularly watch his old videos again and again so I have a few suggestions.

This video attempts to better explain and analyse the oh-so-common reason as to why people don't play fighting games.

This is Corey's (the guy who owns the channel) personal favourite video where he analyzes the premise and the importance of the presence of the FGC.

He also interviewed a handful of female pro gamers on their experience as women in the FGC.

The FGC, because of its birth in the arcade scene and eventual move to consoles, which are considerably cheaper than building a gaming pc, has always been extremely diverse in terms of racial and social backgrounds, but is still struggling with female and LGBT representation. Things have been getting a lot better though, and one of our top players, Sonic Fox, is actually openly gay, non-binary and a furry, often competing in his furry suit, and he's one of the most respected and decorated players in the community.

Back to Core-A-Gaming, his most recent video sheds light on the Pakistani Tekken scene.

The upper echelon of Tekken pro players has been traditionally dominated by Koreans, but the Pakistani Tekken community has begun to do exceptionally well in recent years and they are constantly cheered on by the rest of their community, with Arslan Ash and KHAN spearheading Pakistan's rise to the heights of Tekken superstardom!

Then there's of course Maximilian Dood, the No. 1 YouTuber who specializes in fighting game content. He, along with Justin Wong and another YouTuber, Matt McMuscles, who is better known for his What Happened? series but still has tons of fighting game related videos, have all joined forces to create the Triple K.O. podcast.

My final YouTube recommendation is Thorgi's Arcade. He makes these AMAZINGLY detailed retrospective series on fighting games. He's currently tackling Street Fighter in a multi part series but his magnum opus is the KOF one.

Tackling a series with FIFTEEN different entities is certainly no easy task. And that's not even taking into account all the spinoffs! Last year I fell head first into KOF and it's largely thanks to his series on it. He goes into detail about the inception, the characters, the development of the games and, of course, SNK itself, the company in charge of the games. This company has literally gone bankrupt a thousand times yet has consistently pulled itself back from the dead and continues to make KOF, among other fighting games and if this is not inspirational I don't know what is. In fact, the types they went bankrupt they still went ahead and made some of the best games in the series so yeah.

I'm sure there are MANY more I'm forgetting so I'm hoping others might chime in.

Ironwood: Do you UNDERSTAND what is at stake here if she is found out to be artificial????

Ciel: I do sir, but... but there was nothing I could do!

Ironwood: You could have...

Ciel: Against Pyrrha FUCKING Nikos? You stupid sir? She's been grabbing people left right and center!

Ironwood: Grabbing?

Ciel: I mean I SAW her cart off a Vacuo student, a Haven student AND Professor Goodwitch!

Ironwood: Say what now?

Ciel: Court marshall me for something! Just don't SEND ME BACK there!!!

Ciel: I quit! I know you're going to send me back down there to "get Penny" back... and there is no WAY!

Ironwood: You can't quit!

Ciel: I just did! You don't get it! It's eerie and creepy how in tune to each other they all are! Nikos, Rose, Schnee, Thyme, Goodwitch, Ember, Gayle, Arslan, Katt...

Ironwood: Goodwitch? She's part of this. I find that...

Ciel: They all call each other's "Sister" and Nikos is their "Red_Queen" and don't get me started on the creepy asshole that's at the center of it! The Golden King? What makes Jaune Arc a king?

Ironwood: (Starts sweating) Did... did... did you say Arc?

Suddenly all the monitors and screens blank out for a second before suddenly coming back to life, revealing a very motherly looking woman probably in her late forties, he slightly starting to gray blond hair up in an intricate bun.

It was face James Ironwood knew very well... from his nightmares during his tenure as a recruit in Atlas Academy... Jasmine LeFaye... now Jasmine Arc...

Ironwood: Jasmine! What a... a pleasant surprise!

Jasmine: James! It's been too long!

Ciel: These are secured Atlas telecom systems! How the hell did you...

Ironwood: Ciel stand down!

Ciel: No! This is an act of terror...

Jasmine: Girl shut it.

Ciel was slammed by the ominous and commanding tone. She not only shut her mouth with a loud snap, but bolted to hide behind General Ironwood.

Jasmine: Now, James as much... as I'd like to catch up and reminisce about old times... something has come to my attention...

Ironwood: Really? And what could that be?

Jasmine: My so precious daughter Penny intercepted your subordinate's little rant... she's such a talented girl, you know.

Ironwood: Intercepted? We... we weren't broadcasting?

Jasmine: Do not insinuated that my darling daughter Penny would do something so illegal as hacking all of Atlas' virtual infrastructure, including breaching secure servers... she would NEVER do something like that!

Ironwood: I... I didn't mean to...

Jasmine: Anyway. I have a message for you James. From one friend to another.

Ironwood: Okay?

Jasmine: Penny is where she deserves to be and where she wishes to be. We know, she told us everything... so...

Ironwood: (Swallows nervously) So?

Jasmine: DO. NOT. INTERFERE.

At that single phrase all the screens blanked out and the lights went off. James Ironwood and Ciel Soleil just stood there in complete silence surrounded by darkness.

Ciel: She's terrifying, sir.

Ironwood: Yes she is...

Digging out his scroll, he tapped the icon for the bridge com.

Officer: Sir?

Ironwood: Recall all Atlas students and personnel. Retrieve all Knight and Paladin units. We are returning to Atlas.

Officer: Sir!
