Theory: The Current Mysticons Surpassed the OG Mysticons.
I think that, by the end of the show, the current Mysticons surpassed the OG Mysticons.
In the flashback with Imani Firewing, she has something that looks very similar to, if not exactly like, Arkayna's staff. This implies that, at least with the fight between her and Necrafa, she did not have an upgraded weapon. And considering that the other Mysticons weren't there, I imagine this happened late in the Mysticons' adventures, where Imani Firewing was the last one.
The other piece of evidence is the Lances of Justice. They did not come from the Mysticons' powers themselves, but from Queen Goodfey. And as it was designed after Queen Goodfey's first husband was gone, it was not at the time of the original Mysticons. This shows that the OG Mysticons could not have had the Lances of Justice.
Also, the fact that the final fight was between Imani and Necrafa also suggests this. The current Mysticons fought against the Spectral Hand, which is a larger threat than Necrafa. This could mean that the worst villain the OG Mysticons faced was not the worst villain the current Mysticons faced, and that the OG Mysticons did not face the Spectral Hand.
This isn't the only possibility. Perhaps the OG Mysticons got a power from the Codex, which was drained in the series so the current Mysticons couldn't get it. And perhaps Imani did have a stronger weapon, but didn't need it to face Necrafa, who was a reoccuring villain, similar to Kymraw. Still, with how the Astromancers reacted to Necrafa, I doubt that this is the case, and thinks that Necrafa is the worst villain the OG Mysticons ever faced.

The draw of family and the quest for knowledge
The Simpsons family tree as shown in 1991, in the show's first season, as noted by the editor of Tedium, Ernie Smith in 2015.
There are many shows which focus on families, especially when it comes to animation. Some characters have "non-traditional" families like Philip J. Fry, Steven Universe, and Hilda in the series of the same name. At the same time, a number of animated shows have characters reflect on their families. In The Owl House, Luz fears her mother judging her for being "inadequate" for living in a magical realm rather than "going to camp," while Aja and Krel try to bring their mom and dad back from the edge of death in the series, 3Below: Tales of Arcadia. Similarly, Iris in LoliRock misses her family in Ophedia, while there are family tensions in Mysticons, especially between Arkayna Goodfey and her brother Gawayne, broken families of Reggie Abbott in Twelve Forever and Judy Reilly in Human Kind Of. At the same time, there are startling family discoveries in many animated series, like Roswell Conspiracies: Aliens, Myths and Legends, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Sherwood, Adventure Time, OK K.O.: Let's Be Heroes!, Final Space, and Mr. Robot. I may write about some of these shows in the future in a post about shows with family historyish themes. Additionally, Cleopatra "Cleo" in Cleopatra in Space and "Jack" in Samurai Jack miss their families as they have both been flung far into the future. Other characters openly explore their past and want to find their roots, their ancestry, like Carmen in the series Carmen Sandiego, and Sprig and Polly in Amphibia. This article focuses on two other examples: Adora, the protagonist of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and Lisa Simpson, the protagonist in The Simpsons.
Reprinted from my Genealogy in Popular Culture WordPress blog. Originally published on August 12, 2020.
Let's start with Adora. After Shadow Weaver, who was her surrogate mother and disciplinarian when growing up in the Fright Zone, informs her, in the Season 3 episode "The Price of Power," that she is not from Etheria, she freaks out, while her friends don't believe it. Flying to the Crystal Castle, she demands answers from her pseudo-teacher, Light Hope. She shocks Adora, when she reports that Adora was taken out of a portal and onto Etheria by the leader of the villainous Horde, Hordak, and is one of the planet's first settlers, called The First Ones. She then wonders if Etheria is even her home and worries about the birth family she was taken from. Light Hope cares little about this and ignores it, acting like it isn't a big deal, even though it is! Adora proceeds to have a bit of an identity crisis as a result. Unfortunately, this subject is dropped and is not a focus of the show until later in the show. Adora learns, in the final episode of season 4, "Destiny Part 2," the real history: that Light Hope brought her to Etheria, finding her across the cosmos, bringing her to the planet. This still raises the question: who are Adora's birth parents? That is not answered by the end of the show, with the last season bringing the story to an end and bringing her relationship with Catra to a dramatic conclusion. However, perhaps she will meet her parents when journeying across the galaxy (or universe) with Catra, Bow, Glimmer, and possibly Entrapta, as they plan space adventures in the show's last episode. In the same show, there is another non-traditional family, the one of Scorpia. She has two moms, who are featured in the episode "Princess Scorpia." While they, sadly, do not appear in any other episodes, they clearly mean a lot to Scorpia, as does her grandfather.
Next is Lisa Simpson. The episode "The Color Yellow" begins delving into the family history of herself and her immediate family. She gets a school assignment to research her family tree, with Lisa finding out that most of her ancestors awful and not "heroic," with her grandpa, Grandpa Abe Simpson, not giving any further hints. Searching through the attic, she finds "The Diary of Eliza Simpson" and is shocked to learn the Simpson family descended from those that owned slaves, the story that Eliza helped the slave of Colonel Burns, Virgil, escape to freedom. Unfortunately, their dog destroys the book accidentally, at the urging of Lisa's mom, Marge, so they go to the library, with her and her mom learning that Eliza and Virgil got home, with Eliza's father saying that he would help Virgil go to freedom. After presenting this to her school, Milhouse says that a diary from one of ancestors shows that Eliza was cowardly. Lisa is outraged by this and rejects what he says, travels to the library and finds an oral history interview with Eliza saying she had one regret, that she held her tongue when she witnessed a "great injustice." Forlorn by this, she gives up, with Grandpa telling her the whole story, that Colonel Burns surrenders, with Mabel, the mother of Eliza, bringing Virgil to freedom, and they cross the Canadian border. Later, Mabel marries Virgil, and divorces Hiram, naming their child Abraham, who is the great-grandfather of Abe Simpson, meaning that their part of the Simpson family descends from Virgil, not Hiram. Overjoyed by this, Lisa declares that they are 1/64 black, with Abe saying he kept the secret because those in his generation are racist, and Marge does not know why it is big deal because no one cared that her father was French. Homer absurdly declares that this the reason he likes drinking a lot, with Marge reminding she has French ancestry, not him, but he ignores this.
The Simpsons is a more interesting case than She-Ra. The family, is many ways, very traditional, with some talk about the Irish roots they have in other episodes, as shown on Frinkiac. Miss Cellania over at Mental Floss cited the show, while talking about family trees in other shows like Bewitched, Donald Duck, Lord of the Rings, and a number of other awful shows/franchises which I'm not even going to mention or ever write about this blog, ever, along with a couple I don't know.
That's all for this week. I have some other posts about the family tree in Outlander, in the comic book world, and some other topics. As always, comments are welcome!

A few thoughts on The Lost Scepter
This is the episode I’ve been waiting for practically since the series began.
So much Gawayne goodness in this ep! As I suspected, this was the Gawayne lineage episode mentioned months ago, and I was even sort of right about Gawayne getting to go along on the adventure. But the biggest thing, and the thing I loved the most about this episode, was finally getting some real deal emotions involving his relationship to his dad. Seriously, I squealed so loud when that scene happened.
As for the non-Gawayne parts of the episode, the Vexicons seem interesting, but their constant quipping got on my nerves. Hopefully this will be toned down in future episodes. Still, they have cool designs and their personalities are pretty clear already, which is good. Also, it was nice of Proxima to give the ice one (Mallory) a phone. Just saying.
More riddles means more text and you know that makes me a happy camper. I wish we knew how long ago Laurius (spelling not confirmed) the Glorious’ reign was, since then I’d know how annoyed I should be by the King Cave having an HD TV, and whether it makes sense that the statue would still be the answer to the clue. Because honestly, I thought that Butler would be the answer to “the one who always toils” and then we’d learn that his ancestors have been serving Gawayne’s family for generations, and thus he knew the location of the scepter. And like the song was what they used to play to summon the help, or something like that.
Zarya and Gawayne doing some bonding was great, and their scene at the end was fantastic. We are one step closer to the Gawayne/Arkayna reconciliation I’ve been rooting for, and Zarya may end up being the key (who would have thought?!).
Frankly, I think that Gawayne did do the right thing by destroying the scepter at the end, since if he hadn’t, Proxima probably would have figured out a way to make him use it for her ends. (But that scene also confirmed my headcanon that Gawayne acts before he thinks in most situations.)
So all in all, an A++ episode.

Mysticons Fan Episode: Lost Magic
The Mysticons are training when all of a sudden, they go back to their civilian forms. They are confused and try to transform, but can't. They realize that their magical devices, such as the Spell Pad Malavaron was using to record the training for future reference, stopped working as well. Thinking it's some kind of power outage, they decide to ask Queen Goodfey if she knows anything.
They go to Queen Goodfey to see what was going on. Queen Goodfey says that, while she doesn't know the cause, magic is going out throughout the city. She asks the Mysticons if they still have their powers, and they say no. Queen Goodfey tells them to leave it to the guards, as they don't have their powers anymore, but Zarya says that, no matter whether or not they have their powers, they are still Mysticons.
They go to the stronghold, discussing how they will find where the magic is going. Em begins working on a device that, while it can identify magic, it isn't magical itself. As they are working on the device, Sharise brings up how important it is to figure out what's going on soon, as people rely on magic to power all sorts of machines, including ones used in the hospital. Piper wonders if magic is simply gone, but Arkayna reassures her that magic can't simply dissapear. The device is finished, and there is a surge of magic in Drake City.
They follow the device's signal to a nearby forest, where it's getting stronger. Just then, various animals start attacking. Em wonders if the animals are scared, but Sharise points out how planned everything seemed, and they realize that the animals are being controlled through magic. They defeat the animals, though they do struggle due to not having magic.
After following the device's signal for a little while longer, they find a trap door and go through it. They find a room full of magical objects, and when Piper tests one, they find that it still works. Just then, a dwarven woman comes, and says that she will have control over all the magic, so none can be used against her, and introduces herself simply as The Sorcerer. A fight ensues, and they realize that while a lot of magic went towards the inventions, she still gave herself a lot. The Mysticons are forced to retreat.
At the stronghold, they discuss what to do, as The Sorcerer is too strong. Arkayna brings up how life was simplier when she didn't have magic, and only had to focus on training. This gives Sharise an idea, and she says that The Sorcerer is probably overconfident with having magic, and could easily let her guard down, so if they come up with a plan that will surprise The Sorcerer, it should work.
Arkayna, Em, and Sharise are the first one's in the stronghold, and when they see The Sorcerer again, begins fighting her with weapons Em made. The Sorcerer seems to be winning the fight, but she doesn't notice Zarya and Piper sneaking around to the machine, and to communicate with Piper without The Sorcerer knowing, Sharise uses Elvish to talk to Piper, making it sound like she's insulting The Sorcerer so The Sorcerer doesn't notice that Sharise is actually helping Piper and Zarya know where to hide if The Sorcerer is about to see them. Zarya and Piper do manage to unplug the machine, and with the powers back, the Mystcons manage to defeat The Sorcerer.
Leaving the hideout, the Mysticons are talking about their adventure. Em suggests that they got too comfortable with usng their magic, and that they should do some trainng without their powers in case something like this happens again. The other Mysticons agree.

Pink Skulls Spinoff 5: Someone You're Not
Kasey gets a call from Em, saying that various people in the city are acting strange. As Drake City is a large place, and many people are affected, then there is the possibility of a lot of people going against the Mysticons, they want to see if the Pink Skulls will help. They agree, and start heading to Drake City.
As they are heading towards the palace, they wonder if the King and Queen are judgmental to Sky Pirates, just like Arkayna was when they first met. Kitty calls Zarya, and she admits that, from what she talked about Sky Pirates to see how her mom feels about it, she is judgmental. As Kitty is technically Zarya's admiral, they could use that until Queen Goodfey gets to know them, then reveal that they're Sky Pirates.
After a short visit with Queen Goodfey and King Darius, and while King Darius is happy to meet them, Queen Goodfey is suspicous as their ship looks like a Pirate ship. Danisha says that they realized that people are less likely to attack pirates, they disguised the ship for protection. The royal family seems to buy it, and they split up to find a cure. Arkayna is with Tim, but she thinks she sees something and follows, thinking that she'll be quick. Tim notices that Arkayna's gone, and when he goes to find her, she's gone.
Everyone is looking for Arkayna when they hear reports of people turning evil. Piper asks about the Pink Skulls' adventures, and accidently reveals that they are Sky Pirates. Queen Goodfey is angry that she was lied to, and thinking that Tim allowed Arkayna to be taken in order to protect himself, orders the Pink Skulls to leave. When the Pink Skulls leave, Zarya, Em, and Piper point out all the good things the Pink Skulls have done, and Zarya insists that, if Arkayna was taken, it was probably an accident. Queen Goodfey seems to think about this, but the Pink Skulls are already gone.
As the Pink Skulls are heading back to the ship, Arkayna, who is covered in mud, stops them and asks the Pink Skulls to follow her. Kasey is quick to believe her, but Kitty is unsure. She asks about why Arkayna is covered in mud, and Arkayna says that it doesn't matter. Kitty is surprised by this, as she figured Arkayna would be at least slightly embarrassed to be asked, but she doesn't seem to care at all. She does agree to follow, but makes a note to keep an eye on Arkayna, as she's not acting like herself.
They begin heading through the forest, and Nona suggests calling the other Mysticons to let them know where she's going. Arkayna said that she let them know. Tom asks how long that was, and Arkayna says that it's been an hour. The Pink Skulls know she's lying, as they left the search party for Arkayna 15 minutes ago, there was no way that they would still be searching for Arkayna. Danisha is about to say something but Kitty stops her. She whispers to Danisha that, if they play along, they can figure out how to stop it.
They almost get to a shack, and Kasey notices that the bracelet Arkayna's wearing has some sort of light on it. He glyphs Em to see if other people who are turning evil has the bracelet, and they do. Kasey manages to break the bracelet right before Arkayna casts a spell on the Pink Skulls. Arkayna is confused, and ask what happened. When the Pink Skulls explain everything, Arkayna guesses that the shack has something to do with it. They go into the shack, and sees a machine guarded by a mad scientist. A fight ensues, and while the mad scientist flees, the machine is destroyed. Arkayna calls the other Mysticons, who are happy she's OK and they say the people stopped attacking the city.
They all meet up at the palace, and Queen Goodfey is surprised that the Pink Skulls haven't left yet. Arkayna reveals that she was mind controlled and the Pink Skulls saved her. Queen Goodfey apoligizes, saying that the Mysticons and the Pink Skulls' actions made them realize that Sky Pirates aren't always bad. She allows the Pink Skulls to stay, but they refuse, saying that they were in the middle of something big. After hearing about the map, Zarya tells them to be careful, as she has a feeling it will lead to something dangerous.

A Spinoff With Proxima
I was thinking about how a Mysticons spinoff with Proxima would go. While it's not as easy as a Pink Skulls spinoff, where I can just throw her into adventures, it's still doable.
Unlike the Pink Skulls, who presumably are off on their own adventures when not with the Mysticons, Proxima would mostly stay in Drake City if I just went by "What Proxima is doing apart from the Mysticons". And as the Mysticons are there, I don't think a spinoff with Proxima just doing her head Astromancer duties would be that interesting.
My idea would take place shortly after the end of the series. Proxima goes to another dimension to find her parents. However, the new world is dangerous, and Proxima soon learns that her parents were kidnapped by members of a dangerous group. While saving her parents would be a top priority, Proxima also finds herself meeting a small and disorganzied group who wants to stop the evil group (we'll call them Hamleer, out of the name of an evil group in a story I wrote). Proxima ends up becoming friends with them, and the group begins to wonder if Proxima was the one mentioned in a prophecy, that says a strong leader will be their "guiding star" to free the realm from the evil group. This would bring up the idea of destiny vs free will, as Proxima will wonder if she was lead there, or if she made the choice herself.
The group she's with will consist of humans, a group pushed to the side by the evil group's tyranny. They are all teenagers. There's Yadira, a perky gothic character who's great at talking to people. There's Hunter, the previous brains of the group who is challenged by Proxima's intelligence, and Colt, a hotheaded athlete.
There will still be connections to Mysticons. Em and Proxima would work on a way for Proxima and the Mysticons to call each other from different dimensions. Proxima would mostly call Arkayna, looking for advice and comfort in serious situations. However, other Mysticons would be called if the situation calls for it (i.e. if they can't figure out something technological by themselves, Proxima calls Em). The Mysticons not being there would be justified by them having to stay in Gemina to protect the realm. Also, as Nova Terron and Aunt Yaga are exploring different dimensions, they might come on occasion.
In the first episode, Proxima would be doing her astromancer business when she discovers an SOS from a different dimension, and figures out that the signature is her birth parents' name. She is unsure about going, and Gandobi offers to take over Astromancer duties. She is unsure, and goes to the Mysticons for help. The Mysticons point out how important family seems to be for Proxima, and encourages her to go, but tells her to be careful. It is then that they make their communication device I mentioned earlier, and they go. Proxima will meet the rebel group in the following episode.

Mysticons Sharise's Vexicon Episode
Note: I realized that, while I planned Sharise's Vexicon, I never made an episode about it. So, here it is.
A mystrious man who calls himself Mr. R releases the Vexicons. Mallory asks what he wants, and Mr. R says they would make a good team to take over Gemina, if there was one more of them. Kasha points out how Eartha betrayed the Vexicons, but Mr. R tells them that there is a fifth Vexicon that Proxima didn't summon.
Em is walking in the stronghold when she sees Sharise looking intently at her phone. Em asks if everything's O.K., and Sharise reveals that she was helping someone online translate an ancient text, but it mentions a dangerous swamp. She is worried that the person she met online is going there, but not only is the place dangerous, but she also doesn't know the person in real life and isn't sure about meeting face to face. Em offers to go with her, as the person may be in danger, and when the other Mysticons hear about what's going on, they go as well.
The Mysticons go to the swamp, and soon find themselves attacked by some of the dangerous animals that live in the swamp. After fending them off, Piper asks Sharise if she's sure her friend didn't leave. Sharise says that he did seem determined to go, but admits that she doesn't know him well. Arkayna brings up the possibility that Sharise's friend could be dangerous, but Zarya says that it's likely some adventure seeker.
After a bit of walking, they hear noise and, assuming that it's Sharise's friend, goes to investigate. They see a mysterious man (Mr. R) as well as the Vexicons opening a portal. Arkayna asks what they're doing, and Mallory says that it's time to summon their new sister. Zarya realizes that there must be a Vexicon matching Sharise, and Mr. R thanks Sharise for helping with directions. SAH, a robot-like Vexicon, is summoned, and a fight ensues. During the fight, Em says that they will not get their hands on Eartha, but Mallory claims that they don't need the "weak golem". The Vexicons and Mr. R manae to escape, and Arkayna scolds Sharise for being so reckless, and says that it would have been better if there wasn't a fifth Mysticon.
As they don't know where Mr. R and the Vexicons would be going, they decide to retreat to the stronghold until they get a clue. The way back to the stronghold is tense, with none of the Mysticons knowing what to say to each other. Malvaron and Doug notice the atmosphere, and after hearing what happened, Doug reminds them that they are still friends. They are about to go their seperate ways, but Malvaron stops Arkayna. He reminds her to think about how her words affect the others, reminding her about what happened with Zarya, but Arkayna says that Sharise is too stubborn to leave the Mysticons. However, she seems unsure when she walks away from Malvaron.
That night, Sharise writes a note and plans to run away. However, Zarya sees her just as she's about to leave and tells her that running away would only cause more pain. Sharise snaps at Zarya, saying that she doesn't understand, and Zarya tells her about the time she ran away. Zarya tells her that, while Arkayna can be harsh when angered, she wouldn't want to lose a friend. Sharise decides to stay in the stronghold. We see that Arkayna was listening outside the living room, but she leaves before either Zarya or Sharise sees her.
The next day, there is an attack on the palace, and the Mysticons rush to help. They see the King and Queen fight against the Vexicons and Mr. R, but are losing. Zarya taunts them, saying that between the parents and them, there is no way that the Vexicons and Mr. R. will win. Mr. R seems to have a lot of power, but he is defeated and captured by the guards. However, the Vexicons escape. As they leave, Willa says how they have a new sister now, but SAH says that sisterhood is meaningless.
The Mysticons return to the stronghold, and Em realizes that without Mr. R., Eartha may be in danger, and goes off to warn her. Zarya notices that Arkayna seems to want to talk with Sharise privately, and suggests to Piper that the two of them, along with Choko, feed the gumlumps. Arkayna reveals that she heard Zarya and Sharise's talk last night, and apoligizes for making her feel like she wasn't wanted. Sharise says that SAH's revival was her fault, and that there may not have been a fifth Vexicon if the Dragon Disk didn't summon a Fifth Mysticon. Arkayna promises that none of that matters, and that she would rather face the Spectral Hand itself again then cause a best friend to run away. They hug.

Mysticons Villain Teamup Episode
Note: This is based on an ask I got as a message where various villains team up to defeat the Mysticons. As it includes Dr. Jarlos and Mallock, who were villains when Sharise was part of the Mysticons, Sharise will be in this as well. Adakite from the novel "Secret of the Fifth Mysticon", as I needed another villain for this, and figured she would work well.
The Mysticons are just coming back from the mall, with Piper asking Arkayna if she can use the hairspray Arkayna just bought. Arkayna agrees, and Piper is almost about to put too much in before Arkayna stops her. Just then, they hear that Lance O'Lovely is attacking the Undercity. They are all surprised, as they thought that they defeated him, and have no idea why he returned. Em says that it doesn't matter, and that the important thing is that Lance is stopped. Sharise guesses that he wants to steal people's voices, but Zarya points out how strange it is that he's just going after random people in the undercity. Before they leave, Piper realizes that she's still holding the hairspray and, not wanting to waste time giving the hairspray back to Arkayna to put it away, thows it in the portal bag she was carrying.
They get to the undercity, and it looks like Lance's attack on the Undercity was just starting, as there wasn't much damage done to nearby buildings, and no one was hurt. This confuses the Mysticons, as the attack should have been well on the way by now. Ignoring the strangeness, they start fighting Lance anyway. At first, it seems like an easy fight. However, as right before Lance was defeated, Adakite, Mallock, Tazma, and Dr. Jarlos attacks the Mysticons. While the Mysticons try to fight back, the surprise ambush quickly overwhelms them.
When the Mysticons wake up, they realize they are in some sort of cell. Arkayna points out how they're somewhere different than where she was trapped earlier, which makes sense. Mallock comes, and Sharise tells him that whatever him and his evil team is planning, it won't work. Mallock laughs, saying that he knows the secret to the Mysticons' success is them working together, so he found people to work with him. Zarya demands to know what he's planning, but Mallock leaves without answering.
The Mysticons try to escape, but they find that the cell's locks sare in is perfectly designed to withstand their powers. Zarya scoffs, saying that it makes sense that people who dislike the Mysticons as much as the villains they fought would plan for this. They realize that there's nothing stopping them from reaching through the bars and sees Piper's portal bag nearby. Sharise says that she saw Piper throw the hairspray in it and Em realizes that they can use it. Zarya uses her bow and arrow to bring the bag closer, and Arkayna uses her power to ignite a little bit of the hairspray Sharise sprayed out to cause a small fire right on the lock, breaking it. The Mysticons use their bracers to put out the fire (similar to what they did in "Happily Never After"), and leave.
They find themselves in the middle of a desert, and only have a vague idea as to which direction Drake City was in, thanks to knowing the only desert near Drake City was north of it.. They try to use their bangle phones to find their way back to Drake City, but they don't have service. As they walk, they come across scoprion-like creatures that attack. The Mysticons fight them off, and Em suggests that everyone checks for scratches or pierce marks, as the scorpions could be venomous. Seeing that none of them were injured, they continue walking.
During the walk, they talk about what happned. Em points out how someone must have freed Adakite, and that whoever it was would have likely had to solve the locks. Zarya points out that Tazma was in the stronghold, so she may overheard the Mysticons talking about it while thinking about old adventures. They also think that Mallock, Lance, and Dr. Jaros were close enough in the dungeon to plan a way out together, though Sharise points out that, from what she's seen of Lance's interviews, he probably wasn't smart enough to do much planning. As they try to figure out what this means, they evenutally find a road leading back to Drake City, and follow it.
They get to the undercity, and notice that it's the same as it was before and realize the attack on the undercity was just a way to get the Mysticons there. Arkayna points out that Dr. Jarlos seemed to be against the Mysticons, and that all of the villains probably wanted the Mysticons gone. The group of villains find them, and a fight ensues. When Piper taunts them about leaving the bag where they can see it, the villains blame each other. There is a fight, and while all the villains are focused on fighting the Mysticons, they are not working as a team. The Mysticons manage to use it to their advantage my using their own teamwork to take the villains down two at a time, until Tazma is the only one left standing. He manages to flee.
Queen Goodfey comes, and arrests the rest of the villains. She hugs the girls, grateful that they're all right. Em winces in pain with the hug, and they realize that they were so worried about the scorpion sting that they didn't notice the sunburn. Em says that she'll be fine, but Arkayna is quiet. As they are about to leave, Zarya pulls Arkayna to the side and reassures her that Em is fine, and that it was just a sunburn. Arkayna says she knows, but admits the fact that she didn't notice an injury one of them sustained, even a minor one, worries her. Zarya asks why, and Arkayna says that it's possible that she misses a serious injury. Zarya tells Arkayna that she'd notice something really bad, but Arkayna doesn't seem assured.

Yo everyone! It's been so long since I asked anything! Anyway, Mysticons, Proxima, Quasarla, Naivara, and Gandobi, rate this moment of fortnite on a scale of 1 to 10 for my sister's fortnite smarts, we were both playing fortnite and decided to do prophet in one of the modern malls, I was doing really wee for my first two rounds as a seeker, and then came the time for me to hide, I decided to disguise as a dollar bill, so I did, but what I didn't realize was that it looked the wrong direction and when my sister elaina shot me to win, that's when I realized, I was lined up perfectly so I wasn't out of place, but I faced the bill the wrong way by mistake.
Also, what's your guy's equivalent to tangled the series? It's a kids series I'm obsessed with as well as the mysticons! It's so awesome! Check it out if you can!
ARKAYNA: That's pretty observant of your sister, so I'd rate it an 8 out of 10. And I think there's shows similar to that, but I can't think of any at the top of my head.
ZARYA: Your sister's pretty clever, so I'd rate it an 8 out of 10. And there is a show like that called Locklin about a princess with long hair, but I don't know much about it. Piper might know, though.
EM: I'd give your sister a 9 out of 10 for smarts. And it depends what part of Tangled: The Series you think is most important (the entire group of friends, Rapunzel's hair, etc) on what's the closest equivelant.
PIPER: Your sister is a smartie! 10 out of 10. And there's a show called Locklin about a princess with magic hair who goes on adventures. In Locklin, the hair can act as extra limbs though, so that's different than Tangled: The Series.
PROXIMA: That's pretty smart, but your sister may have seen that trick before, so I'd give it a 7 out of 10. And I know there's a show about a Princess an it has something to do with hair, but I don't know much about it.
QUASARLA: It's hard to rate how smart your sister is, as it would depend on how much she plays fortnite, but I'd give it at least a 5 out of 10. And I don't watch many cartoons, so it's hard to think of an equivelant.
NAIVARA: That's pretty impressive, so I'd give it a 9 out of 10. And There is a show called Locklin that seems similar to Tangled: The Series. It's also about a Princess with magic hair, so it's pretty good.
GANDOBI: Your sister sounds pretty clever, so I'd give it a 7 out of 10. And Tangled: The Series doesn't sound like a show I'd watch, so I don't know what an equivlence would be.

Is Aunt Yaga Really Not As Powerful As the Show Leads Us to Believe?
Aunt Yaga is revealed to be a demi-goddess, so she should be powerful. However, while she does show some powerful moments, there are also scenes that make her seem weaker than she should be. I will be discussing why I think that, as well as why I think the writers created her like that.
First, I have to admit that she does show moments of power. Not only does she travel to different dimensions easily, but in "A Walk in the Park", we see her read minds, and can tell the future, as shown by how she mentioned them finding a baby dragon. She also helped seperate Proxima and Arkayna, where if undoing the spell was easy, the Astromancers would have. She also recognized the Mysticon outfits, showing that she knows of the Mysticons even before the series began. This would mean that she would either knew the OG Mysticons or saw them in a vision or something. Tazma also seems to see her aunt as powerful.
However, despite all this, there are times that she doesn't seem that powerful. Tazma managed to get the Spectral Claw on her, and while Tazma isn't weak, I don't imangine that she would be a match for a demi-goddess. And Em held her own in a fight with Aunt Yaga. While we don't know who would win the fight if Malvaron did't step in (I think Aunt Yaga would), the fact that Em managed to hold her own against a demi-goddess by herself didn't make Aunt Yaga seem impressive.
There is a out-of-universe reason for this. The Mysticons' adventures would be far too easy if they had an ally who was extremely powerful. She could have stayed in Gemina to help fight against the Spectral Dragon, making the fight easier, but less exciting. By having her out of major conflicts, it's up to the Mysticons to be the heroes.
I can also see the Mysticons not getting her help too often. She travels to different worlds, so it would be hard for her to come for various problems. Because of this, the Mysticons probably rather solve issues without her. Though that doesn't explain why Malvaron asked for her help in seperating Arkayna and Proxima, which I imagine any high-level mage could do (I don't imagine they're the first ones to accidently get stuck with those bracelets), but not for defeating the Spectral Hand or reviving Arkayna's parents.
While the idea of a demi-goddess was cool, I really don't think that it was handled well. I think the issue was that they weren't so how to create a powerful character but have her not affect the plot more than the major characters in the show. Perhaps it would be better if Aunt Yaga was simply a powerful mage and Astral traveller.

I wanted to do an update to this, as I have read "the Diamond Curse". For favourite chapter books, I honestly would have to give it to "The Diamond Curse". While I like the adventure from "Secret of the Fifth Mysticon" more, there are fun things in "The Diamond Curse", such as the hexbeasts and different etiquette lessons (the food one what talks about wasting food and gluttony is my favorite out of those). It's also cool that there were two problems, with Kymraw and the Murgatroyds.
I also like the emotional aspects of the plot, as it feels more natural. It seemed kind of sudden that Em thought Doug was the fifth Mysticon, so it wasn't as big of a deal for me. Meanwhile, Arkayna wanted to have the other Mysticons behave properly on the train thinking everyone would be happier that way, but ended up making it worse for her friends. The challenges taught all of the Mysticons, including Arkayna, that politness is important, but you can just have fun as well. This was shown perfectly in the end, by how Arkayna acted like the perfect princess when people ran into the train to see if they're O.K., turned to cross her eyes at the other Mysticons when they stuck her tongue out at her, then turned back to be the perfect princess.
I know I mentioned earlier that "Secret of the Fifth Mysticon" was my favourite book, but re-reading "The Diamond Curse"gave me a new appreciation for it.
My Mysticon opinions
These are my personal opinions about various things about Mysticons. I will not do the chapter books, as I haven’t read “The Diamond Curse” yet.
Favourite Character: Zarya. I like her attitude
Favourite Episode: “Lost and Found”. I like Zarya and Piper’s relationship, and this episode played on it.
Most Improved Character: Proxima. I at first couldn’t stand her character, but when she became less of a know-it-all and shown her more vulnerable side, I liked her character more.
Least favourite character: Nova Terron. I find him annoying, and even when he became nicer to the Mysticons, he isn’t exactly the most intelligent character.
Least favourite episode: “Save the Date”. I’m not a big romance person at the best of times, and this episode had the most boring pairing in my opinion in a very weird episode that didn’t do much for the series.
Favourite comic: Volume 2. While I’m not a big romance person, the ship tease between Em and Felix was interesting, as it was the first time when a Mysticon shown interest in someone who’s not their main love interest.
Favourite pairing: Moonboon. They make a cute couple.
Favourite Character design: Kasha

# 1: I have three different mysticons episodes for a favorite, but my number one favorite would be twin stars unite, mainly because it was when Proxima roasted necrafa by saying "it appears the evil litch hit a glitch"
# 2: if I could make an adventure for you guys it would probably be one that two villains you used to fight working together to try and destroy the realm or something, maybe the two villains would be necrafa and kymraw because I've always wondered what their dynamic would look like. Or maybe it would be a piper centric adventure, because I don't think we get to see very many, if any, piper centric episodes.
# 3: it's not really a specific episode it was more less just a scene, it was a scene where nobody believed piper when she said her codex piece was at the carousel, I mean, I can understand why you guys didn't believe her and all, but the realization cued in almost too late that she wasn't being childish after all, she solved the riddle "I stand alone within firey bloom" I think it said that, even I solved that, and I didn't know any riddles at the age of 10! :)
# 4: at first I didn't really like nova terron because he seemed so odd to me back when I was 10, but he grew on me as a character as the series went on
# 5: if I could change one thing about the show it would probably be the fact that you don't have any family Proxima, if I could change one thing it would be that because Proxima, I felt sorry for you when I realized you didn't have a family.
# 6: to a degree, yes, because Arkayna really wanted to save the king and queen, but no, because if they had've looked at the codex to see how long the bone to flesh spell would take, they'd know whether to destroy it or not.
That's all the answers! You guys can also ask me things like my favorite food, game, show, activity, hobbies, interests, etc! Even my dislikes! :)
I personally try to keep this blog Mysticon-specific, so I probably won't have them ask questions like that. And I agree with given Proxima family, though I think it would have been even better if they gave Proxima honorary/found family. For example, maybe instead of having Eartha with the Goldenbraids in the epilogue, perhaps Eartha could have stayed at the Academy with Proxima.

To answer your question Quasarla, yes it was! :) but only because I had trouble figuring out how dark I wanted the turquoise to be. Also, mysticons, Proxima, and Quasarla, name one thing you wanna know about me and I'll answer that :) I hardly told alot of myself to you guys but yet I've been asking you guys so many get to know you questions, so each of you ask me one question and I'll answer it to the best of my ability! :)
Note: I won't ask anything too personal, as I believe in being careful what you post online (That's why I never mention my age, city, etc on the blog). Instead, I will keep all the questions mysticon-specific.
ARKAYNA: What was your favourite episode of Mysticons and why?
ZARYA: If you could make an adventure for us, what would it be? (Basically, if you could write a Mysticons epsiode, what would happen in it)
EM: What was your least favourite episode of Mysticons and why?
PIPER: Is there anyone in the show you didn't like initially, but ended up liking as a character as the show went on?
PROXIMA: Hm...If you could change one thing that happened in the show, what would it be?
QUASARLA: I see. Do you think the Mysticons were right to not destroy the codex right away, just to save the king and queen?
