Lessons

Sam sat sprawled on the couch, his text books littering the coffee table and floor.  Closing his history folder and tossing it onto the pile of books at his feet, he glanced over at his brother.

Dean had a beer in his hand, something he did more often when dad wasn't around.  Not that dad would comment.  He had Dean doing things no kid should be, so he couldn't very well complain about a drink or two. 

He waited until the show Dean was watching went to a commercial.  "I ah..." he licked his lips.  "I'm going to the school dance on Friday."  He held his breath.
