“The striking geometric front of Hello Saturn by M-Rad is designed to accommodate its 45 affordable apartments without crowding out existing homes or blocking natural light. Each level is staggered in rectangular blocks from one to four stories tall. The tallest sides of the structure back on areas where dense construction already existed, while the open front faces the single-story neighborhood.

[The] hope is that the community’s open courtyards and gardens will invite its tenants to socialize with one another, and foster a true sense of community between them.”

Expansão de edifícios

A igreja envolveu a NCI-Roberts Construction no início do processo de planejamento, e o empreiteiro apoiou seus esforços de arrecadação de fundos por meio da pré-construção.  A construção começou em março de 2019. Mesmo que a data de início tenha sido adiada, a equipe do NCI-Roberts manteve a data de conclusão original e os primeiros serviços de adoração no novo espaço foram celebrados em meados de dezembro.

O projeto incluiu a remodelação do espaço existente de 10.000 pés quadrados e o espaço anteriormente alugado de 16.000 pés quadrados. A expansão permitiu a construção de átrio de apoio, núcleo de casa de banho e aumento do espaço infantil, escritório e apoio.

Exterior

As melhorias na fachada do edifício incluíram a adição de metal de madeira simulado e lanternas e vidro de altura total do edifício, para garantir uma sensação calorosa de boas-vindas ao se aproximar do edifício. Um lote adjacente foi adicionado para acomodar 120 vagas de estacionamento adicionais e criar vagas dedicadas para famílias com crianças pequenas.

Boas vindas e adoração

Depois da nova entrada principal e vestíbulo, há um café acolhedor e uma área de estar e um playground coberto acessível pela ADA aberto à comunidade durante a semana. Os acentos da parede da prancha de madeira combinam com o exterior.

Um novo espaço de culto juvenil acomoda 226 pessoas, e o espaço de culto principal acomoda quase 600; o espaço original tinha espaço para apenas 350. Os serviços no local continuaram durante a maior parte da construção.

Ministérios infantis e inclusivos

As salas de aula foram reformadas e adicionadas para crianças de seis semanas até a quinta série, cada uma projetada para atender às necessidades específicas dessa faixa etária. Uma sala “Maravilhosamente Feita” sensorialmente amigável foi projetada para indivíduos com deficiência e / ou necessidades diversas. Inspirado em parte por uma tragédia na vida de um de seu pastor, foram construídas acomodações adicionais para deficientes físicos, incluindo um trocador de tamanho adulto no banheiro da família. Um quarto para mães que amamentam inclui uma televisão para serviços e anúncios. Um quarto silencioso também está disponível para pais com bebês ou para aqueles que precisam de uma experiência sensorial amigável.

Detalhes

Iluminação nova e moderna e uma mistura de acabamentos neutros e brilhantes combinam com o estilo de ministério energético da igreja. Pisos de carpete, vinil luxuoso e porcelanato foram instalados, e o piso de concreto industrial existente foi polido.

Atualizações de tecnologia, incluindo cabines de som, estações de check-in do ministério infantil e televisores, garantem acesso e conveniência.

A congregação se ofereceu como voluntária durante a construção, apoiando a iniciativa em tempo e talento, além de tesouro. Obras de arte, bancos de café, mesas, a parede sensorial, cabides e muito mais foram criados pelos membros.

Impacto

O espaço reformado atingiu todos os objetivos que a Heartland estabeleceu em sua iniciativa, tanto aprofundando os esforços em andamento quanto proporcionando espaço para mais adoração e ministério - para crianças, portadores de necessidades especiais, alunos e pequenos grupos.

The floor surface at the embedded rear part of the house curls up to meet the roof, naturally absorbing the imposed load of the earth...
