You also have to sit here and question, "What does my endgame look like?" Like, sit down and think about what it looks like if veganism or this particular branch of militant ARAism "wins". No one on earth eats any meat or animal products at all, nor does anyone wear leather or fur, etc.

Great! You've saved the animals--right? Except what happens now to all those billions of animals we domesticated for their animal products? When no one on the planet will eat pork or wear wool or drink milk or scramble eggs, what happens to the animals that gave those products? Do you think we should release all those cows into the great plains? Should chickens be freed to wander the forests? The pigs will probably as a rule be fine, but what about when their countless descendants turn into hogs? Will you expect people to just keep them as extremely large expensive pets? Do you just let them all go extinct? Do you let them destroy and destabilize whatever ecosystem you release them into?

Is your fight actually for the rights and welfare of animals if it is rooted solely in shaming people for using domesticated species for the purposes we domesticated them for? Or is it to just feel morally superior over others with no basis in reality, and completely ignoring the many people in the world who consider the welfare of these animals a high priority and also use their products?

hi! i can tell that you care about animals. you want to help them. thats awesome! thats so good!

this is the wrong way to do it, okay? animal agriculture is a cornerstone of human society. it existed long, long before us and it will exist long, long after. shaming people for eating cows will not end it. in fact, animal agriculture is the reason we have cows at all! and thats super special!

so, how can you help?

if you want cows to live long healthy lives, the easiest way to help is to support smaller local farmers! shaming anyone that eats meat not only does nothing to help animals, it keeps the power n money with all the big wealthy farming conglomerates that do actually mistreat animals!

cussing at people that advocate for animal welfare and humane farming practice helps no one. by behaving like this, you are harming your image, you are harming your cause, and you are harming cows. donate to the spca or something if you want to help, okay?

Entah mengapa aku merasa semuanya berjalan begitu sebentar.

Hanya sebentar mengenalmu

nyaman disampingmu,

menemanimu.

Benar, semuanya begitu sebentar

Menemanimu,

Lalu tiba-tiba saja aku kehilangan dirimu.

Setiap detik, memori meminta ruang untuk dikenang, membuat dadaku sesak tak beraturan, tiap harinya bagai siksaan, dihantam kerinduan, yang semakin hari semakin tidak berperikemanusiaan.

Tak ada yang bisa ku ubah,hanya saja beberapa hal memaksa untuk selalu diingat.

Bukan, bukan berarti semua tentangmu sempurna, bukan.

Tapi karena semuanya begitu sederhana.

Sesederhana tawa yang muncul karena kekonyolan kita,

Sesederhana terang lampu jalan yang menemani malam kita,

Sesederhana sepiring makanan yg kita santap,

Sesederhana leluconmu yg kuno,

Sesederhana itu.

Sesederhana cerita yg kita ucap disetiap jengkal jalanan kota,

Sesederhana bait lagu yg kau lantunkan tiap kali kita berjalan

Iya, sesederhana itu…

Bahkan ribuan kesederhanaan lainnya yang memaksaku tak bisa melupakannya.

Karena setiap sudut kota ini, setiap hal sederhana yang tiap hari kulalui, setiap tempat makan yang selalu ku datangi..

semuanya…

tak ada satupun yang tak ada kenangan tentangmu.

Aku hanya mengingatnya, karena memang hati tak bisa dibohongi perihal rasa.

tapi aku tak meminta kita untuk mengulangi semuanya,karena kemudian setelahnya aku mengerti…
