I absolutely love ur mer designs for Etho, Grian and our lovely sea monster ofc lol. Do you have any more in depth refs for their designs, id love to see more of how they look if possible! /nf ofc

only really had the couple rough sketches for their designs unfortunately! given its how I work with most of my stuff with just quick sketches like this. But I'll give the couple details I remember adding into their designs! Main notes will be I spent more time on Etho because I knew they'd be seen the most,, also that this this Is a default of how I've always drawn mermaids, with the whole dark eyes and covered in scales and fins, more siren esk in a sense.

with Etho the main things I remember adding is chancing the headband and gloves to be more like kelp being wrapped around/ braided, because In general I like drawing mermaid outfits with a more found object type vibe to them. the other main thing was intentionally giving them 9 fins in their design, 6 on the tail, 2 on their fourarms, and the one on the back. Cause I enjoy drawing Etho with the kitsune vibe. even though I;ve only ever drawn them with the full ears n tail like,, once or twice? who knows.

Also! points points, finally had an excuse to draw their tattoos!

only notes I really had for Grian was wanting him to have the rounded Fins cause feather vibes. and I never really looked up actual fish or animals when I draw quick designs, so I go off pure vibes and vague memory of what I think the animal looks like,,, and we end up with stuff like this.

and drew them with the void damage again! thought it would look pretty to have a tail and scales that looked like a void/spacelike. and It wouldn't have been a good colour pallet to have him in just pure red with the poncho and tail bein the same colour. I did also try the white hair too, even just being streaks like my s5 Ex design, but It wasn't really working out.

I looked at my old design of Xb and went, "what can I do to make this being even prettier." and here we are /hj the full sea monster style Is something only like five of the hermits would have seen, so its not a common thing. I'd like to think Xb also like triples in size when like this, but its hart to show that when its just a single character shot like this. the default Xb design I will use is the "just some guy" kinda thing with only a couple fishy details if you look close enough. the whole a couple scales around the eyes like freckles and a vague impression of gills that are mostly covered up buy the hoodie anyways. the third eye is something Xb always keeps closed, and is normally hidden behind bangs

yada yada, I draw my Xb design as a character who just does everything to act as "Just some guy" and not as a full on monster of the deep sea kind thing only other design notes would be me adding the runes into Xb's horns, cause I've got some random magics lore Ideas, and I've been meaning to also add some to Tango's design as well and I originally had drawn Xb's earrings as a way to match with Hypnos, forgot that I drew this one with just a teardrop,, but I know my Hypno design does have both a eye and a bell on his earrings. Silly reference to a cool fic that was a good chunk of inspiration to how I characterize my Xb

well hi :3 welcome to deja’s skinblending guide. this is my first full written tutorial so excuse me if its not very good LAWL before we get started, here's the tools i'll be using

photoshop 2022 (theres cracked version everywhere on tumblr)

blender + the ripper aren't required to make skins, plenty of people don't go that extra step, but i love using it for placement help

okay lets fuckin go gamers heres my very in depth process for making my ocs skins

miss dolly is gonna be our model today. she already has a skin but im gonna add some little details for the sake of example + some tats cause ive been meaning to anyway.

so when i first get started on making someone a skin, ill find a good base to use and then add details from other categories like nosemasks, eyebags, contours, etc.

my fav skin creators are @sims3melancholic and @thisisthem. my bases are usually thisisthem, and then i'll pick through a couple s3m skins and make notes on my phone about what parts i wanna take off of them (like, say, i like how a certain s3m skin's nose looks. i'll use that instead of a nosemask)

my goal when im gathering things i wanna add is to free up as many slots as i can. id rather add cheshire's freckles onto her skin than use up the freckle slot in skin details that i could use for something else, yknow?

ill repeat this process for makeup next. obviously im not giving my ocs permanent full glam, but some lipsticks can add better texture, you can get highlights/blush from........the blush section LOL and i love using this obscurus eyeliner at a low-ish opacity

just adds an extra level of detail i love. i think what keeps my sims looking consistent next to each other is that i tend to use some of the same details all across the board

make sure for all makeup/skin detail/tattoo category swatches you use, you make note of what swatch it exactly is. when you go into s4s to export the file, you're gonna have to manually select it and if u cant remember what skintone u chose out it can be annoying :/

note that she is completely nakey aside from her piercings while i pick what im gonna use for her skin! no clothing but u can keep on their hair. this is so we have a clear view of everything (and i mean EVERYTHING) for blender.

after you make sure u save the sim/household to ur gallery, you can close out of cas and save ur game! i forgot to do this bc im a fucking idiot but its okay bc you will not. its not REALLY necessary to do this as long as you know exactly what packages you need to locate for texture exporting

step one is done!!!! close out ur game

i have a million fucking characters so i made a deja senti skinblending folder to keep it all organized :-)

this is what it looks like inside. gives u a pretty good overview of what ur gonna be doing tbh. the 't' folder is all the textures we're about to export

thankfully i do have a version of dahlia saved in my gallery so even tho i didnt go it before i closed my game i can still show u what to do in tray importer lol. i have multiple sims in one household, so i narrowed it down by going up top and selecting dahlia / human / and her everyday outfit.

since im gonna give her this blush, i right click and hit open w package viewer so itll find it and open s4s for me

anime wow sound. im gonna change the color manually in photoshop so it doesnt matter to me what swatch i export. hit that green export button under the list of diffuse/shadow/etc (u dont need to worry about all those options, just diffuse) and save it to ur folder!

once ur done gathering ur textures ur good to close out of tray importer and s4s(we'll come back to s4s later tho)

thats step two! the quickest step lawl

this is where i start being a little extra. u dont have to rip ur sim and use blender if u dont want to, but i think it can rly help bc the default sim in s4s doesn't have ur sims facial features and can make ur skins look wonky/wont give an accurate representation of how itll look in game. this cuts out having to go in game/out of game over and over to check

so in simripper once u load up ur sim, the important part is to make sure u have it set to export the dae with separate meshes. once thats done u can import it into blender and there's plenty of other tutorials out there how to use simripper n all that.

so once u get the dae loaded into blender im gonna send u on a little side quest over to this ask i answered where i explain how i separate eyes from the head mesh. next thing ur gonna open is photoshop! or whatever u have thats similar

say hi to flat dahlia. u should have ur own guy but flat open now too :-) along with everything else ur gonna combine. in my case its blush and a titty mask. im gonna start w the blush so i zoomed into her face in blender. i went into the blush file and copied, then back into my base skin file and pasted into place with crtl+shift+v

please do not be like me. make sure u rename ur layers as you copy and paste them into the main skin file. do this because it DOES matter what order ur layers are in. u dont want to put ur highlight under ur nose mask cause the nose mask will just cover the highlight etc etc. i already lost what layer the new blush i added is. what is wrong w me

so when u have ur first detail pasted on and in place, ur gonna save the base skin file as a psd. then go into blender, and in the little textures window ur gonna replace the diffuse file ur dae came loaded with with ur new psd file

u should see the change u made but mine was super subtle so im gonna show it to u when i put on the cleavage overlay

when it comes to stuff like this, ur obviously gonna want to pick the closest to ur skintone swatch as u can. i did not do this, because again, im an idiot

mine is way too pale LAWL whoops. we can fix this tho

i add a hue/saturation adjustment and make it a clipping mask using that square w the arrow so the adjustment will ONLY affect the mask

from there i just make little adjustments until the color match up is as perfect as i can make it. for example for this, ik that it needs to be a little warmer and a little more saturated, so im gonna bump the hue and saturation sliders to the right and it was pretty much perfect

tiddies with no mask > with mask no adjustments > with mask and adjustments

and ur gonna go ahead and repeat that process with every single thing u wanna add to ur skin.

so as for tattoos! this is another thing ur gonna wanna rename the layers for because depending on how heavily ur sims can be tatted it can get A LOT

here's psyche's neat little tattoo folder. its separated into where the tattoo is and then

i find all my tattoo inspo on pinterest using flash sheets/keywords in the search. my ocs usually have sub-boards that i hoard inspo in for them specifically. dahlia doesnt have one bc ive never seen her as the most tattooed person, but i think she'd have some at least

this process is pretty much the same as putting on skin details! its all about adjusting to what u like. for example, i like when my sims tattoos are a little faded and a bit blurred at the edges cause it looks a little more real

when it comes to images i find on pinterest, ill save the image and first try to make it as clean as i can

for example, this lil guy

a curve mask made the whites brighter and the blacks darker as u can see. then ill go into filter > reduce noise to soften the harsh edges

then i flatten it, copy and paste to the skin file, n place it wherever i want it to go :-)

okay so now ur gonna want to make sure u .psd file is saved (it should be bc we've been checking our progress w blender) and then merge the visible layers (NOT flatten, merge visible. we need the transparency around the skin to be in tact)

ur done in photoshop and blender!!! good job :-)

step whatever number we're on. back into s4s!

ur focus is over here. make sure the option filled is the top one, and then hit the cas button

this menu will open, ur gonna go up to part type and find the option skin details, forehead. pick the first forehead wrinkle option that appears and hit 'next.' itll prompt you to save ur new file n give it a name, i usually just make it my sim's name cause i have a folder in my mods folder for specifically my cc

remember wayyyy back when we were exporting the skin details? ur gonna go back to that same section and hit 'import' instead of export. select ur skin's .png file, and poof !

ur skin :DD it looks great man good job

this part is EXTREMELY important. go up to the warehouse tab

in the 'data' section ur gonna see a box at the top labeled 'filter.' thats where i typed in 'compos' just so it would show me JUST the compositionmethod section since theres a lot of shit in there lawl. yours is initially gonna say '3,' but we're gonna change it to '0' mind you, this is because MY skins are all alpha. maxis match overlays do not show up on my skins because my comp method is set to 0, meaning it has top priority essentially.

after you do that, you can hit save and place that .package file you created into your mods folder!!! and GUESS WHAT BESTIE UR DONE!!!!! U DID IT :DDDD

i guess its time to reveal my genshin oc. i have been kinda hyperfixated on him for the past year but only starting to talk about him now since genshin is the main fandom im focused on at the moment.

this is Remi, he is the organist of the Favonius Cathedral, cryo catalyst user, vampire and is just a nice guy with existential crisis (/hj)

his story is kinda complicated and may be illogical in terms of lore?? but i like it that way

in short, Remi used to be a normal organist in another world. due to some events he got killed and basically got isekaied(?) by his local gods to Teyvat as a vampire with amnesia. he went through a lot of struggles regarding his past and current purpose in life and eventually embraced his fate thanks to music and the Mondstadt people (and ofc Barbatos). this is a really brief summary so it may sound weird haidhdkhddh if anyone is interested i can tell more (will anyone even see this post?)

also im not really an isekai enjoyer myself but i went with this trope because i think that Aloy's vision is super pretty... and she is.. not from Teyvat at all.. so i decided to make him from another world too. yeah. the things we do for aesthetics.

some information about him: 1. he loves romance novels; overally has romantic view of world, easily gets affected by negative emotions. church really helped him to compose himself. 2. beside playing organ he is also a good singer and pianist. sometimes performs at taverns during free days. 3. Remi chose his name himself while trying to find a new one at the library but not from a book. he heard someone singing outside the window and unconsciously started naming notes he heard. do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti. Re-mi. lol. he was very confused how he remembered all this musical knowledge but went with it anyways, it just felt right. 4. he still doesn't remember shit from his past life (except music) but it doesn't matter for him anymore. 5. on his first (and worst) day in Mondstadt Remi got arrested and got put in solitary confinement for attaking one of the knights (he is alive dont worry). knights decided to give Remi a chance and allowed him to live in Mondstadt (because its best to get the potential enemy on your side before anything worse happens?). 6. loves dressing up (not because i cant come up with one default outfit, yeah)

I am so excited to talk abt this!! Feel free to ask more questions! I'm using this ask as an excuse to talk abt design ideas regarding the lawyers!

Starting off with Gem, whose design I've already finished!! She has a similar silhouette to Apollo's angsty Dual Destinies design with her (green) jacket over her shoulders because of the shawl(?) In her hc10 skin and witch skin. I gave her a white button up with a yellow tie since a lot of her skins have yellow/gold accents. I also gave her a corset because of the corset for her empires skin (now sure what season, I haven't watched her empires u-u). I've given her a single glove as a reference to her hc10 skin and to Athena's single glove, since I think Athena and her share some fun similarities. Finally she has some grey pants (Capcom give these lawyer women pants!!) And brown dress boots.

Unfortunately, Gem's design was the easiest for me! I'm trying to keep the defense side relatively simple as you'll notice in aa they tend to be (rip Athena). I don't want everyone in a basic suit tho so I am trying to mix things up a bit. Would love some suggestions! As for the others, I have some ideas

Scott's S1 Empires skin is actually perfect! It's that multicolored tunic that could easily be depicted as a suit jacket with a white dress shirt underneath. Could be fun to mess around with what kind of shirt he's in or a neck accessory besides a tie. Other than that I haven't got much for him. Ace attorney lawyers also tend to be strongly color coded, so a multicolored suit may break that aa feel, but uh it's more fun <3. I may end up playing around with the colors anyway.

Mumbo's design is actually the easiest. I had more fun with Gem, hence why she was done first, but Mumbo is already wearing his ace attorney suit design lol. I kinda want to play around with it a bit more, but I may end up settling on his self imposed aa design.

Scar has an extremely unique problem for me where he actually has too many fun lawyer-adjacent skins. Particularly his hc8 and limited life skins. They are both very iconic to me but would be difficult to actually mesh into one deisgn. Additionally I ADORE the color pallette of his secret life skin (og, but red is good too) but I'm not sure if I could include it. Altogether Scar is the hardest!! If I pick one route I feel like I'm losing so many possibilities! And I don't want to just copy one skin of his, like Gem I want their to be numerous references to different skins. May have to study the aa wiki defense attorneys to get some better in-universe outfit ideas.

I've been having some trouble with Grian as I wanted to include his iconic sweater without breaking the prosecutor vibe. The prosecution tends to have more wild or whimsical (see Nahyuta) designs. However, I think Grian may end up on the more simple side of the prosecutor spectrum, Edgeworth is a more simple prosecutor anyway and Grian is Edgeworth-adjacent. Come to think of it tho, his poultry man skin looks stupidly similar to Gregory Edgeworth. Could do smth with that maybe hmmm.

Etho's design is actually pretty straightforward from his skin. And he only has one to work with haha. What I'm picturing looks a lot like Godot's outfit, he even has a mask on lol. I'm probably gonna try to make it pretty unique, but it is hard to resist the urge to just turn those sleeves into a button up and that green into a suit vest.

Joel is one I'm trying to play around with more. I've perused his skins and haven't had any stand out as super lawyer-y. His default is fun enough to work with tho! Gem's comment of his weird vest thing as a corset is making me consider giving him a corset (he and Gem can match!). I'm trying to distinguish him from Shrek as much as possible while still keeping recognizable elements from his default. All in all I think he'll be fun.

CLEO oh BOY am I excited for Cleo. I'm thinking a lot of Franziska's silhouette with Cleo, focussing on extravagant sleeves, particularly relating to that blue dress skin of Cleo's. I'm also thinking of Nahyuta's detailing. Cleo's skins, to me, give the perfect amount of inspo without spelling anything out. I'll probably stick to her usual color pallette, but playing around with her 80s skin colors could be fun! Cleo is very exciting for me!

Finally, Pearl. When it comes to Pearl's design, her top aa influence is Barok van Zieks. I adore his cape and would really like to use it as a reference to scarlet Pearl. I also really like his soldier-esc getup underneath it, and while I wouldn't go as heavy handed with it, I am tempted to take some bits. I also really like Lana Skye for Pearl as a design reference, but mostly for her sprites. Pearl will not be crazy corrupt like her, but I would like to draw some parallels

OKAY SO. shading, thing i am apparently accidentally really good at. it’s probably the thing i’ve gotten compliments on the most over the years which is funny because it’s probably the thing i’m Least confident that i can do well. therefore i can’t really give a tutorial but i can give a bunch of disjointed notes

(shown above is my Default Shading, further examples of different lighting below)

everything else under the cut or this is gonna be a mile long

i like using blue for shading, yellow/orange for lighting but generally you can just make them opposite/complimentary colours to each other and that’ll work. cool shadows, warm light or warm shadows, cool light. you get it. that’s a general rule there’s probably exceptions. i will say i hate using purple for shadows but that’s a personal preference (as is every colour i use being so saturated lol)

the orange around the edges is supposed to be subsurface scattering on skin but i put it on all the edges because i like how it looks 👍

yes there’s two different bounce lights. idk why i do this. i also just think it looks nice. i guess the one on the shading layer is more for form and the one on the lighting layer is more for the yk. lighting? anyways the first one is just a lighter version of the shading colour the second one is darker and slightly hue shifted (depending on the lighting scenario — it can be brighter if the situation calls for it)

the reason i don’t just shade around the edges is because it can make things look very flat which is the opposite of what you want when shading. sometimes it can just go on the edges in some specific scenarios but i like my shadows Chunky. basically having it go over the form instead of just along it can help show that form more

top left - night time | top right - bisexual? | bottom left - spotlight i guess? | bottom right - default/daylight again, just wanted to show a shape example

something i’ll also do a lot is have a separate multiply layer that’s just one colour and i’ll throw that over the whole thing to get the base colours correct for the lighting scenario. some people do it by eye but i am lazy so i cheat 👍 often it’ll be the same as the more detailed shadow colour but as with the top right example sometimes it’s different

shadows are either on multiply or linear burn, lights are either on add (glow) or glow dodge. depends on what looks best. same with opacity, i don’t have any real rules there

i also LOVE harsh lighting but that’s just a me thing. UMMM i can’t think of anything else to say

so next is ANATOMY okay this is also something i’m not super confident with lol but i can give some more disjointed notes by just redlining my own sketches lol

the uuuh “bottom of boobs is 2/3 down the ribs” isn’t technically correct? if ur drawing someone with big boobs and no bra on they’re probably gonna go lower but that’s kinda. where they come out from i guess. i also don’t think the “ribs” i draw are technically accurate but it works for a reference point

arms are a diamond (the shoulder.. muscle.. thing… idk what it’s called) and then some Tapered Tubes idk they’re not super complicated. if you wanna get more into it go google buff people and trace/redline their arms that’s how i learnt orz and uuuh i kinda also have the taking up 2/3 of the ribs but a bit Above. the way i’ve worded that makes no goddamn sense i’m bad at explaining this

ANYWAYS yeah bodies are just shapes if you want ppl to look unique just squash or stretch out the shapes 👍 and also learn actual anatomy stuff that always helps. my final message: learn to draw fat people it is no more difficult than drawing thin people

OUTFITS i love outfits. i have a pinterest board where a lot of my inspo comes from and it’s a section within a bigger board so ig i’m just giving you my whole inspo board. here (it’s the one called character fashion) (i do not condone art being reposted on pinterest without artists permission just ignore how much i have saved)

pinterest in general is good for outfit design stuff as long as you know where/how to look. u could also try fashion blogs and stuff

ummm a lot of stuff does just come from my own head tho, like based on clothes i like or vaguely inspired by stuff i’ve seen before. if you look through the board you can also see that like i rarely ever copy stuff directly i kinda just use whatever stuff i find as a base to work from. just find stuff you like and go from there i guess, i sometimes like picking a specific subculture or fashion style for a character and seeing what i can make from that (like missa is emo/scene, slime is like some kinda ravecore thing?? idk)

this is something i do on Most drawings to the point i have an auto action set up for it. duplicate the entire drawing (on csp the easiest way is to just merge visible to new layer), gaussian blur to like ? idk i think it’s 40% or something? i don’t remember, set that layer to soft light and lower the opacity

OH actually if u mean the colour jitter stuff on the . colours. that’s not a filter i was just using a brush with slight hue jitter on i was Experimenting

technically part of the last ask but I didn't want to bring down the Joke Tone, even though this is still said fun and lightheartedly ->

(Jokes aside, when a single person is complaining all of that it doesn't show his legs, doesn't give him the same silhouette as default skin, doesn't emphasize his torso or proportions in exactly the same way as his default skin, they don't like the type of boots and think it should look more like his other boots, not blue enough, uses Sumeru elements instead of an exclusively Khaenri'ah or Monstadt design... I can't take it seriously, because it sure sounds like they just want his default skin, maybe in a slightly edgier color palette. Or want to have a ✨ new skin for their fav ✨, but don't want him to look any different at all.

And of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but soo many of these people state it like these are OBJECTIVE FACTS that are OBJECTIVELY BAD traits and mistakes bc they personally don't like the design choice. When they can just use the default skin if they're upset it diverges from it 😅. Though I don't want anyone to be disappointed and it's too bad they didn't get what they want, that's... how new content works. Preferences exist, I'm afraid, and I for one am incredibly pleased!)

Anyways I think all the complaints that hinge on his legs etc are very silly bc you can switch skins and look at his sliver of boob whenever you want.

I can see why they would prefer a more Khaenri'ahn-only theme, but I think HYV is really hitting on the hints that Kaeya has Sumeru blood in him (and I still want a 5-star kaeya someday that goes all out on the Khaenri'ahn wardrobe hehe let me be delulu)

I will say that Khaenri'ahn clothing so far is very modest. Bodies are fully covered from the neck to feet, usually with loose tunics. Dainsleif just has a fitted top that lets him show the shape of his upper body. These people wouldn't enjoy the idea of a traditional Khaenri'ahn outfit on Kaeya as well if what they're after is seeing more of Kaeya's body now that I think about it...

I think Kaeya enjoys being a little extra on what he wears, like adding accessories and using various types of fabric on one outfit. If I were him and had 2 different nations with large cultural differences in style, I think I'd pick the more extravagant one too lmao (the nation of freedom told him its ok 💅✨️)

as for the complaint on the pants and lack of boobie window, well, the disappointment is fine tbh, people still have preferences, and being let down by what will be released is understandable because it does not fit their tastes. It's the way they (imo) over-reacted that made it really funny to me. I've seen some say it's not well-thought-out (despite the details and references) and is just a ploy to pull players back to genshin (it worked lol. good for hyv for knowing what sells).

I guess I don't see the need to justify what you don't like, especially if it leads to weird arguments and reasoning?

A simple "it doesn't fit my fantasies/tastes" would suffice, i think

At the end of the day, the outfit is supposed to look different from the usual attire, and it successfully did so and went beyond my personal expectations!

the kaeya fanclub in Mond clutching their chests in agony at the lack of Kaeya thighs and thigh gap. They are now undergoing a great depression. Yay, I’ve finished my second Mass Effect: Andromeda playthrough, this time romancing Peebee! I was just going to do the - ahem - Zero-G no strings option and quit there but it turned out that the save point I jumped in at was literally right at that part so I decided to keep on playing, just to do more of the flirting etc. Then I got to the scene where we - AHEM - locked in the romance and that was so near to the end of the game by that point that I decided to finish it so I could get to the movie night, because that was something I loved in my initial playthrough with Jaal!

I really think they should’ve let Lexi (the blue Asari lady on the right for those who don’t know 😉) sit next to Drack (the big Krogan fella on the left). Nobody’s ever going to convince me that she’s not at least a little bit sweet on him, d’aww. 😉

Sadly, you don’t get your honey with you during movie night when you romance Reyes but I guess that much sexy sitting on a sofa would’ve caused a spontaneous combustion! 😇😉

D’aww, and here’s Sara and Peebee! And Vetra behind them on the left who seems to be napping, like Cora is on the right, lol! Well, the crew of the Tempest had a hard day, after all. They don’t need a nap, they need a full-on good night’s sleep! 😴😇😉

Now, for my next trick... I want to do a playthrough with Sara and Vetra before I switch over to Scott. I haven’t gotten into modding so all of my Sara’s looks are basically just changing the color and style of her outfit, though I did think to give her a different hairstyle with Peebee. I honestly love her look with Reyes, I think the outfit and red and black coloring really suit her! 💖 (My Sara x Reyes vid ‘cause I really love them a lot, your honor 😉)

I’m not sure if I’ll keep her hair red (I really do like the red hair, though, so I’ll probably just try for a different style) and then may do a different color variation on the red and black outfit. I want her to be all spiffy for our best Turian girl, after all! 😇😇😇

For Scott, I actually like the default look for him, so am not planning on changing his face like I did with Sara. The Sara default face is one of those that can look nice from one angle, then a little weird from another, so I went with preset 5 or 6, can’t remember which at the moment, (edit: I went back and looked and that is NOT preset 5 or 6, I’m not actually sure which preset she is, oops) and made some minor makeup changes between all 3 romances.

Anyway, Scott is definitely going to romance Cora first for his full playthrough, then we’ll back up and switch to Gil because holy moly, I really ended up caring about Gil and I’d love to see how it’s going to work out with Gil having a baby with his friend Jill once he’s in a relationship with Scott! 🤔 Scott also needs to romance Avela because, as I love to remind y’all...

I know it’s just a tiny little quasi-romance but it’s KATE KENNEDY and if I can romance Kate frickin’ Kennedy in a video game, then, by Jove, step back and watch me get my romance on, yeahhhhhhh mannnnnnn!

This playthrough took me about 60 hours instead of 120 like the first one because I dropped several of the side quests this time. I also knew to place the forward stations right away so you can fast travel and such. I honestly think I can cut the time in a half again just because I have a better idea of which quests you need to do and which you don’t. I’m still really loving the game, even more as I get more comfortable with everything.

Ahhh yeah, look at how comfortable Sara is with her Pathfinder duties now! 😂😂😂

SENSES AND OTHER SPECIFIC HEADCANONS

WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE SMELL LIKE?  I normally struggle at this question orz ... I think he either smells like not much in particular or often kinda sweaty from being active lol. It does depend a lot on where he's been hanging out and what kind of ambient smells were in the area, though.

WHAT DO YOUR MUSE’S HANDS FEEL LIKE?  Another one that's tricky for me to answer because I haven't given it that much thought. Bro they feel like hands 😭 not suuuper rough but not like baby untouched soft? He climbs trees n stuff with them. He also likes wearing gloves though.

WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY EAT IN A DAY?    Okay, well, first let me go on a tangent about his eating habits in general. You know Svern's deal with not feeling very much? Yeah that extends to his appetite too. He eats when he sees or has access to something he wants, or when he's hungry hungry, but he also just. Will skip eating sometimes. Because it doesn't bother him enough and he's not bothered to eat, at that moment. (He's lazy. What else is new.) Still, he'll usually eat at least 1-2 decent serves of something in a day. What exactly that is depends, usually whatever he has easiest access to that he likes best - easy prep/instant food, prepackaged, takeout or just eating out. He can be motivated to eat more by things he likes which is mostly spicy foods. He likes spicy foods.

DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE A GOOD SINGING VOICE?    If he puts effort into it? It's probably pretty decent. I'm not sure if he'd have trained it at any point (if so, then it'll be better). He's just as likely to just put as much volume into it as possible, though, without caring whether it sounds good or not... if he's singing around others, anyway... he wants those complaints/criticisms.

DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE ANY BAD HABITS OR NERVOUS TICKS?   You mean besides his entire attitude in general or getting into stupid situations? No. Any nervous habits or mannerisms you see from him are manufactured.

WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY LOOK LIKE / WEAR?   Svern's "fashion sense" varies wildly depending on his whims. I normally draw him in basic boring clothes which... fair... he likes a good old hoodie/jacket... but he also does a lot more than that! Jumping between very drab colour schemes and colours IN your face (outfit tag), or casual, to questionable, to more conventionally chic and stylish, he will wear almost anything. He will also pick up clothes from anywhere. BUT THAT'S JUST THE CLOTHING SIDE! You may know by now that his favourite look (messy auburn hair, amber eyes) isn't his natural look. While yes it is the "default", he's not limited to it, at all. This guy likes playing with looks. Tomorrow he's going to be decked out in nothing but hot pink, hair and irises included.

IS YOUR MUSE AFFECTIONATE? HOW SO?  He might act it sometimes, in an over-exaggerated way, but the reality is that he isn't. Svern's true affection, the one you can trust to reflect his real feelings, is quiet and understated, and almost never spoken aloud. It's reserved for people he really, genuinely likes/cares about, and those are... few and far between. It's silent things like him spending more time around you, or the trinket-giving I've mentioned. Real physical affection from Svern is also rare and usually limited to just being in close proximity. Probably one of the softest things he can do is if he actually seeks out physical closeness.

WHAT POSITION DOES YOUR MUSE SLEEP IN?    Any way he can contort himself. You might not believe it's comfortable but he's fine with it. He's got himself twisted with his hips facing one way and his head the other and also his arm lifted and draped weirdly over the top. Additionally, he sleeps wherever the hell he feels like. (Though it helps that he doesn't tend to sleep unless he's actually tired and then he passes out pretty easily.) For some reason, he seems to prefer surfaces that aren't too soft versus softer ones.

COULD YOU HEAR YOUR MUSE IN THE HALLWAY FROM ANOTHER ROOM?  Generally speaking yeah because he's loud as heck. But if he doesn't want to be heard for whatever reason? Nope. He sneaky.

putting details on this really put into perspective just how short niamh is. it’s different when it’s just the basic shapes but making them all actual people and. god. she’s a full foot shorter than zenith. compact!

i sure like boots in my designs, huh. also fingerless gloves, i actually removed temerity’s here because i couldn’t have three of them in a row. i’m a coward.

syrus and niamh both have the useless belts, though niamh has more lol

chain mail is a fucking pain to draw and i didn’t do a great job here BUT i do like how it ends up looking when i do it right. i did remove it from temerity’s legs and gave him... pants? leggings? need to draw him again from a different angle to figure out what the look is. anyway i covered it up to spare myself some.

the only other time i’ve drawn toby’s armor, i did the pic in grayscale, and tbh i couldn’t figure out another color scheme. partly because now it’s just grayscale in my head. also i like to imagine the lightning on his armor actually lighting up the same blue as the gem (which is an artificer thing and not a feature of the armor as it was made) and i think that’d stand out better on the grayscale.

god syrus’ limbs are just so long

temerity’s face rarely comes out right imo, i’ve gotten him right like. twice maybe. but i think asya’s came out especially cute here!

the color variation here is decent, could use more brighter colors. toby would be more colorful in regular clothes but that’s not their default look so y’know.

four of the six have... partially closed eyes? heavy lidded eyes? idk how that actually translates, but i draw their upper eyelid more on them. i do that a lot in my designs, i just like the look! syrus’ eyes are downturned, asya’s are upturned. syrus and niamh both have the under-eye lashes emphasized more. every time i draw them i remember this one post saying it’s a slutty character design choice. let my kids live.

realizing my two autistic kids here have more neutral/flat default expressions. just how they be.

syrus and toby have my favorite outfits. the super deep V on syrus is fun, and i just love toby’s armor. WISH THEY STILL HAD IT BUT Y’KNOW!!!

i’m not good at symmetry and tend to draw at an angle so the hands don’t quite fall in the same place. one’s higher than the other or gets tucked more behind the leg or both. just something i noticed. need to work on that!

i don’t think they look TOO same-face-y, though that’s something i’ve struggled with. part of my problem again is that i just. can’t tell faces apart SUPER well. i know what shapes i’m going for when i draw a character and i can get the general idea down but i don’t always recreate them properly.

some of their heads are too big, or the proportions of their facial features are off. i can’t fully tell which is which. zenith and toby are the main culprits here.

this feels like a lot of nitpicking my art but the intent is still to discuss the designs as i’m doing so. i’m only partially going off-track.

part of me says i need to utilize patterns more in the clothes i draw, but that’s harder to recreate quickly. toby’s armor took me so long compared to everyone else. simple designs are easy to draw quick and less detailed, as my style often requires. but i like how toby looks here with the details in their armor! everyone else looks so plain next to them in comparison. i’ll think about it.

armor in general is hard for me, that’s why everyone typically dresses in regular clothes in my designs even if they wear armor in-game. i also don’t always look how armor looks so, y’know. clothes are more fun for me to draw.

glance: At first glance, what stands out most about your OC's appearance? What's their distinguishing feature?

His eyes for sure!! He has thick lashes and very pretty eyes. But the colour is.. Insane. Weird colours are pretty normal in Amant. But Heiden's eyes specifically are very strange. He has sectoral heterochromia basically, but the top half and the bottom half are different colours and where they meet they kinda blend together?

(funnily enough this is a trait he shares with Katsumi(his are green/blue tho)! Some bonus lore. They're my only two characters with eyes like this. and it IS relevant to what they are.)

Anyways the top half is this shade of orange:

motion: How does your OC move? How does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? Are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?

Mmm flowy is the best way to describe his movement! And not like elegant lady flowy, but like.. ghostly flowy. His movement is very enchanting to watch. He wears pretty heavy clothes but it doesn't seem to hinder his range of moment at all.

Heiden is really coordinated and incredibly reactive. He's not necessarily flexible, but he can react incredibly well, very quick footed when he wants to be.

stillness: How does your OC act while still? Are they fidgety? Do they have any common gestures or tics? Does their clothing affect how they hold themselves while at rest?

He slumps forward a little, like he's using his coat as a shield maybe? He's also really tall so I think part of the slumping is so he seems less intimidating while standing still. His clothing choice helps him turn into himself, if that makes sense?

He does tend to fidget with his jewellery though. Especially if he has to stand still or at rest for long periods of time, he gets bored.

night: What does your OC wear to sleep? Do they have a favorite pair of PJs, or are they more the birthday suit type?

He sleeps in dog mode a lot to save space and money so he doesn't have to go to an inn? Like he'll just curl up in pubby mode and sleep like that. But otherwise he just sleeps. in his underwear. lmao. he doesn't exactly have multiple outfits?

Heiden you'd LOVE silk pjs though.

day: What does your OC wear on a normal day? Why do they default to those clothes? Do they wear similar things, or do they change it up?

I haven't fully finalised his design besides his jewellery and coat. But he wears thicker clothing. He only has the one outfit, not because he's a video game character, but because he is broke. He's honestly really like.. unsuspecting?

Coat, gloves, long sleeve shirt, pants, boots, I imagine? I'll get on finishing his design eventually I prommy.

footwear: What does your OC wear on their feet?

Okay so I keep emphasizing how he travels light and is like. broke. lol. But his equipment that he DOES have is all high quality. Like the leather is very clearly high craftmanship, his weapons are loved and well taken care of and made of good materials. I do imagine he wears some amount of leather armour under one of his shirt layers. That's good quality too. Very nice because he takes CARE of it.

roots: Is your OC's look inspired by any specific style of clothing or fashion trend? What are the roots and/or inspiration for their look?

"unsuspecting" "average" "traveler" were really things I was going for. I don't want Heiden to stand out the way the twins might (oh my god remind me to show you their redesigns later!!) or even Ajax. Heiden wants to blend in more, his clothing reflects that choice.

wardrobe: How big is your character's wardrobe? Do they wear things threadbare, or can they afford new clothes often? Are they any good at mending and repairing their own clothing?

Heiden is a GOD at mending his own clothes!! He carries a lil sewing kit with him in his sack. He spends more money on fabric and thread/needles than he does on like.. actual clothing itself. It's just more cost effective to repair what he does have!

fe17 thoughts (part 2)

similar spoiler warning as last time; i’ve now beaten chapter 18 but this post is about the brodia gang in this post so mainly spoilers for mid-game

first up in the brodia gang is yunaka. she’s fine. her personality is cute, just not my type of chara, and her design doesn’t work for me so she’s just mid-tier. covert units are good but i prefer zelkov

i unexpectedly like alcryst. i don’t care that much for bernadetta so i wasn’t expecting to like him, but his portrayal balances the serious and comedic elements of his personality better imo. i like that he threatened my life and i also do find extreme apologizing funny (it must have been a direct reference, right????) i think this type of character is very interesting against the backdrop of brodia, and despite his self esteem, he still has a backbone of steel on him, which is all. very. interesting.

i also like his evil-looking eyes. i don’t think diamante has them

i was worried lapis looked super generic in the character previews but she’s grown on me. actually my first in-game impression of her was very positive because she and citrinne were totally ready to shank us from the front even after they knew who we were, which was refreshing after firene. but then she became nice and i was worried again. now i’ve decided i like her; i need to get more supports with her but i felt the signs that she grew up in extreme poverty were well done, things like being grateful for any type of thing you give her and, obviously, the milk convo. i’ve only gotten the c-support and it’s definitely funny but you can see lapis piecing it together at the same time you’re realizing what she’s talking about (i think the clip circulated on twitter/tumblr on release or near release, and seemed the idea online was that it was a joke about a white person thinking milk needs to be watered down, but the real context is much more interesting). ANYWAY i need to get more lapis supports but also unexpectedly ended up liking her.

citrinne is a hot rich lady. i uncomplicatedly like her. also need to get more supports with her. 

diamante... he’s fine. his thing with his dad was neat; that whole family’s dynamic is fun. otherwise, he’s very... there. i do like giving him lyn for the same reason ppl use sylvain to kill felix. i just got a diamante/jade support where diamante fully guffaws out loud for like 2 whole lines and that decimated my grasp of what his character is.

i didn’t notice it for a while, but i think diamante has 2-color hair too? he has a bright red streak at his temple that kind of looks like light glare but it doesn’t move even when he turns around, so i think he has like... idk just one patch of hair that grows differently...

amber. alpaca. he definitely comes the closest to the hisame/pickle situation just bc... alpacas are such a specific animal lol and very like 2011-brand “i love alpacas and sloths bc i’m so random” but from an adult man. his alpaca sweater is cute. his support with vander is funny.

i have no thoughts on jade except that her c support with bunet was funny.

i mentioned i needed master seals last time but actually after ch. 17 you get finally get unlimited seals in the shop so i’ve been rescued. everyone is now promoted except for clanne... i may go back to him but he’s only level 9; we’ll see if he can net any arena exp.

i appreciate that everyone’s default outfit changes with their base advanced class! i haven’t used a second seal so don’t know whether there are reskins for different classes but it’s reminiscent of the RD promotion outfit changes. i imagine if this game had had sprites, we might not have gotten this? i would have liked to see sprites by mika pikazo though; possibly some character designs might have clicked better visually.

supports are annoyingly hard to get?? i feel like after most battles i’ve only gotten 2 or 3 supports unlocked, and even after unlocking gifts to give people (which are SO EXPENSIVE), it feel like gifts and meals had more of an effect in 3h (altho u did get to eat a lot more meals in that game lol)

misc. but i wonder how many people entered the series with fe17? ig we’ll get more of an idea over time because those people probably wouldn’t get it on release. 3h was a huge entry game but i feel like everyone who is talking about engage is just like.... a series veteran lol i was on reddit and people are like “you couldn’t do that map?? unless this is ur first FE, you should know the optimal way is to do this” which struck me as an incredibly weird thing to say if any other game was in discussion?

New Ghoul at School 7/10 pretty much pilot episode for the web series and commercial for the dolls itself ( all the movies are just one long commercial btw) It's as highschool introduction you gonna get. Tho it's wild everyone got mad at Frankie trying have Deuce as her bf when nobody told her he's Cleo's boo( pun not intended)

Fright on 7/10. I NEVER seen this cover before but the "movie" is in 2d form. Also kinda fruity they put Clawdeen and Draculaura on the cover lol. I want say the artists were trying covers out before going full 3d for the next round of movies. Anyway the ghouls tackle racism/prejudice.

Why do Ghouls fall in love 7/10. Official first 3d monster high movie. Cute movie despite the typical highschool cliches. CA Cupid design still a fav ( wild she got transferred to Ever after high but oh well) I realized there's couple of Draculaura centric movies hmm might explained why she became face for reboot. Also Val was suppose be closet gay but you know how Mattel be.

Escape from Skull shores 6/10 I don't remember much from the movie expect it's Frankie centric and it's King Kong type movie. The girls swimsuits were very cute tho. Also realized they literally cut and dye their hair and when back at school they in their default design lol. Anything for the aesthetic. The 2022 reboot better ot disappoint fashion wise.

Ghouls Rule 5/10. Another predjuice plot movie. I do like they brought in humans. I mean with have best boi Jackson for a reason lol. Kinda shame we never saw the other humans in web series. And Hot take the ghoul rules designs are my least favorite out doll line. I like Frankie's and Cleo's outfits but that's about it

Frdiay Night Frights 8.5/10. By far my favorite of the movies. Plot is sexism bad, girl power plot but still cute. And they introduce Best girl Robecca and Operetta. Also roller derby outfits were my favorite of doll line theming

City of Frights 6/10. Don't remember much, it's Clawdeen centric movie. Move best girls introduced Good doll outfits. Like I said the movies just long commercial for the doll line theme

13 wishes 8/10. Howleen centric loved the plot. Great outfits. Even more best girls in the movie lo. Lowkey wish Howleen kept her curly afrohawk hair. I'm not against the idea of her changing her style because she's figuring herself out.

Frights camera action 5/10 I just don't remember much of this movie expect we got Honey, Viper, and Elisabat. I think it's Draculaura centric movie

Freaky Fushion 8.5/10 another good movie. Got good lore with Robecca and Frankie’s family ( was it canon they were cousins-ish?) Loved they introduce that monsters do breed with other monsters. Draculaura gonna have some cute werevamp babies lol. I realized that any Frankie centric movie she gets a kinda sorta love interest that’s never brought up again. But Frankie x Jackson/Holt always my Otp so there’s my bias 

Boo York 9/10 Song slaps, best girls bangers. Outfits killer Nuff said

6/10 hate they recon half of everything. They redesign the main girls but others like Toerli and Venus keep their regular designs from OG wave. Clawdeen’s fam got redacted. Only good thing is the girls may look 12 but outfits match that age. Animation was nice. We got milf werewolf mom and Dilf Dracula. The movie implies Dracula just adopts Frankie lol but maybe Frankenstein IP wasn’t for grabs yet

Movies I didn’t see: Great scarier reef and Haunted. Believe those were last movies before reboot. Other movie from reboot series was Electrified

I usually just write fics for myself, and honestly, I was not gonna post this either. But yesterday I was reading his 2022 bday story (I still need to read his pov today), and when I was reading it, I got shocked that some things I wrote in my fic were really similar to cybird’s story. Y’ALL I SWEAR I DID NOT COPY CYBIRD HAHAHA. Maybe I just know Leon a lot? LMAO

I understood that as a sign of Leon telling me to post my bday present to him. 

I could tell which part of the fic is similar to cybird’s, but I don’t think I’ll lol. Maybe some people didn't have the time to read his bday story yet.

I chose to user MC's default name here. But that's not the name I use in game or when I write just for myself.

I added a NSFW warning, but to be quite honest, there is nothing that explicit. But you know, better safe than sorry.

It's early in the morning in Rhodolite, but a certain prince is not that excited today.

Leon is supposed to do his daily chores, but the prince is slacking more than he usually does. He is reading and signing some official documents at a snail's pace.

Leon - (looks at the window from their faction's room) - Hmm, the weather looks nice, but I'm bored. Where is Emma, anyway?

Leon - She told me yesterday we would have some fun cuz it's my bday, but I didn't see her anywhere...

Meanwhile, Emma is busy setting up her surprise for her lover in an isolated basic cottage she rented so they could celebrate Leon's bday. 

Emma - Great! It looks like I bought everything from the shopping list.

Emma - I suppose Leon probably figured it out about the surprise, but I can't get disheartened. It WILL be a nice present for his bday. I'm sure of it!

Maid 1 - My Lady, is there anything else you need? We can clean the house for you or help you prepare the dishes.

Maid 2 - Indeed. You shouldn't waste your time on housework. You need to be spectacular for your prince. You must choose a fancy outfit for this special occasion!

Emma - Oh, thank you so much! But this is my birthday present to him. I would rather do this myself. I'm not an illustrious chef, but I'm confident I can make some delicious food for tonight.

Maid 1 - As you wish. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call us. We'll head back to the palace then.

Emma - Of course. Thank you again. And if by chance he tries to talk to you, be careful. He is such a smooth talker! He'll try to find out more details about today's event.

The sun is going down on the horizon, and Leon is getting sulky. Where is his Lady, anyway? He waited all day, but no sign of her yet.

Leon - Ah, somehow I managed to finish all that paperwork, but where is my reward? I can't wait anymore!

Leon - *sign* I even tried to deceive the maids, but they didn't say a word. I know they were with Emma. But she is clearly not here.

Leon - Is she out of town? Or maybe she went to her former house to get something there? Hmmm

Leon - I wanna leave the palace to look out for her, but I don't wanna miss one another. She can't be that far. It wouldn't make sense. She is setting something up, so she must be close.

Leon is impatient and decides to look out a bit far from Rhodolite to find his girl. When he was setting up his horse, he notices someone spying on him.

Leon - You probably realized I'm not in a good mood today, so you better show yourself.

Emma - Hi, stranger! *chuckles*

Emma - Sorry I took so long. Are you ready for your surprise?

Leon gets speechless for a moment. Emma looks stunning, and he doesn't know what to do with himself.

Leon - Sorry, you look so gorgeous. I just didn't know how to react.

Emma - ah Leon...

Leon is just a few inches away from Emma. He seizes the opportunity and grabs her by the waist just to make sure she won't try to escape.

He kisses her passionately just like he always does. He missed her so much.

Emma is in such a trance that is hard for her to not get caught up in this moment, but she must be strong because the night is just getting started.

Emma - Ahhh Leon... wait a minute...

Emma takes a blindfold from her purse and tries to cover Leon's eyes.

Leon - Ohhh so that's why. It's part of your surprise then? Hmm. I won't say no to that.

Emma - Hehe I promise you won't regret it. Now be a good boy and let me put it on for you.

Emma - there, I think it's perfect. You are not seeing anything, are you?

Leon - Hehe am I?

Emma - Stop it! No cheating! Did you understand, Leon?

Leon - *chuckles* yes, ma'am. I won't do that.

Emma - Okay, I'll be your guide now. We are riding on my horse. I hope you don't mind.

A few minutes later, Emma and Leon were getting close to their final destination.

Emma - So like I was saying... Leon!!!!!! What are you doing?

Leon - What? I was just holding your waist so I wouldn't fall.

Emma - That's not what you were doing. Stop touching my breasts. I'm trying to focus here, you know?

Leon - What? I didn't touch your breasts.

Emma - You sure did. OMG, you are impossible!

Leon - Geez, I'm sorry, but I can't see here. Clearly not my fault.

Leon - This blindfold is making things hard for me. Are you punishing me for what?

Emma - If you could just wait for a few more... Ahhh

Leon - Hehehe what was that?

Emma - OMG LEON!

Leon - What now?

Emma - this is not the time for you to touch on my private parts. You are enjoying this situation too much!

Leon - since when I did that?

Emma - JUST NOW!

Leon - I did not. I'm here behaving myself just like you asked.

Leon - I thought you'd be happy to be so close to me. Didn't you miss me?

Emma - Sometimes I question myself why I date you.

Leon - Because I'm a lady killer? And charming? And strong? And...

Emma - Shut up, okay! We're almost there.

Emma - there! OMG finally! We're here. You just can't stay still for a few minutes, can you?

Emma - Humph... Let me just take this blindfold off before you eat me alive here.

Emma removes the blindfold while they are still on the horse. When Leon opens his eyes, he sees how pretty the setting is. 

They are in a village ruled by Rhodolite, but it's probably the first time he sees visits that particular area.

Emma chose a simple cottage a bit far away from the main village. There is a forest surrounding the house. Greenery and big trees everywhere.

Emma - So... What do you think?

Leon - Wow, it's amazing! First time I've seen this place, to be honest.

Emma - Wanna check it out?

Leon - Of course, I do. Let me get out of the horse first. I'll catch you.

Emma - Thanks.

Emma - So... let me show you around. I've been here a couple of times now ahaha.

Leon - So this is where you've been hiding from me?

Emma - Hiding? I don't do such things hehe

Emma - I just think we needed a change of pace for this special day.

Leon - I see. I'm not gonna lie that I liked your idea a lot.

Emma - I made dinner for us tonight. You work so hard. I just wanted to spoil you. But just a little bit. Don't get too used to it.

Emma - That's your problem, not mine ahaha

Emma - So why don't you go take a shower while I set the table for us? The dinner is ready but I just need to warm up the food. But it won't take much.

Leon - And you're not coming? You just said I was tired. I need help. *chuckles*

Emma - hahaha no way. I know what you are planning. I'll wait for you here.

After taking a shower, Leon heads to the dining room and sees an exquisite table full of food.

He stands still next to the door just admiring how hard she worked to prepare all that.

Emma - Leon, come on! What are you doing standing there? The food is gonna get cold, you know.

Leon - Ah, I'm coming.

Emma - So, you want me to serve you? What would you like to try first?

Leon - I thought you were the main dish?

Emma - Leon!!

Leon - hahaha sorry, I can't help it. Anything really. I'm sure everything tastes delicious.

Leon - Hmm this really looks good. Thank you.

Emma - Hehe I'm glad you like it.

Leon - What?

Emma - Happy birthday! Thank you for giving me the honor to celebrate it with you. And I'm sorry if I stole you away from your siblings today.

Leon gets speechless with Emma's cuteness. She is so spontaneous and adorable. Although he is a man who speaks his mind, she knows how to make him stumble over his own words.

Leon - There are so many things I wanna say to you right now. But none of them would exactly convey how much I really love you.

Leon, who is sitting next to Emma, gets up, pulls her chair, and carries her to their bed (which is decorated with a red silk quilt and printed with black lion paws at its ends).

Leon - Thank you for being the best partner I could ever ask for. I feel bad for being so grumpy all day when you were working so hard for my happiness.

Leon - I love you so much that I just can't not touch you anymore. Your generosity and your effort just make me desire you even more.

Leon - And I'm sorry I usually don't have enough time for you. You deserve more than that. But I'm too selfish to let you go.

Leon - So let me shower you with love. Like only a beast could do.

Leon kisses Emma over and over again to the point she can't think straight anymore. He will treat her well tonight because that's what a lioness deserves. Nothing less than that.

saw a prescreening of Thor: Love and Thunder tonight. it was cute but it was not good. individual parts were entertaining but it just didn’t feel like a whole real movie. I think it suffers in comparison because the last three movies I saw ranged from really good to amazing, so Thor 4 just really was shallow and incomplete in comparison. 

Christian Bale and all the kids did a really good job. Chris Hemsworth did a better job than Natalie Portman, because while she’s a more talented actress he is better at playing a warm and likable character. Tessa Thompson was really charming and likable, though the extent of Valkyrie is basically “Tessa looking good in super cute outfits while being a badass” which tends to be her default. It was pretty and it was dumb and kind of felt like filler. The goats were hilarious, the terrible actors of Asgard were still hilarious, and [redacted] was really sweet with both Gorr and Thor. 

on the very curved scale of Thor movies, it was above average. probably not as well structured as 1 and 2--but more entertaining--but not as entertaining as 3. on the almost-as-curved MCU scale, it was very average. entertaining but lacking full arcs and not big on developing past a light adventure (which is fine! just want you to know what you’re getting into). on a real movie scale, it was poor. kind of felt like an assignment that got turned in at 11:59 before the deadline. the beginning with the GotG felt like bad photoshop, like they CGI’d a whole younger man’s face on Quill and also didn’t finish properly rendering Rocket or Groot, and everyone’s makeup looked cheap. Thor didn’t feel like he was really in the same scene as them and I think everyone might have been on different sound stages. meanwhile, the opening scene was so good in terms of acting, emotions, and visuals that it felt like it belonged in a better movie.

overall I felt like Taika was just too self-indulgent while also being lazy, which is an unfortunate combination. the two credits scenes were fun and included exciting characters, but Marvel often includes promising credits scenes to leave people on a high note and then never follows through. Taika is especially guilty of this since he couldn’t even follow through on most of the things he set up in Thor 3. even if it’s a minor detail, it bugs me that he forgot basic facts that HE put in the last movie! how hard is to remember your OWN character’s parents? anyways, I’m done reviewing/ranting lol. if anyone has any questions or wants spoilers/specifics then feel free to message me!

2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)

i think my default would be that their facing our left is slightly easier, could be a holdover from like, drawing more in pencil and being righthanded so that like, if they're facing left that Face would be the details i'm most concerned with, and then could move my hand to the right to draw the rest of the head lol. but i don't think it's a very big difference from drawing anyone facing right, and of course now i can digitally flip a canvas, but even then it varies a lot vs there being any clear pattern like, yep, i Always prefer people facing left. not forward though lol, the increased need for Symmetry is like, whew

9. What are your file name conventions

definitely like, a keyword or two & then perhaps a descriptive word or phrase more to distinguish it, i usually work on some wip drawing start to finish rather than picking something back up after long enough that i might have forgotten the particular thing i named it and/or it's not just in the [recently opened] display either, and certainly looking at some file names it's like, i'd never just think of that when going to look it up again lol, i'd just have to scroll to find it....lot of like, e.g. tayston [word / phrase] type names, maybe even the characters individually, but it's morely likely that when i'm naming the final like png file that i actually add more relevant keywords like tayston winston taylor billions kiss and then some particular remark to distinguish it, if only to make it all the easier to Not give files the same name, since yknow, the thumbnails are there....an excerpt from wip files specifically (some resulting in finalized versions, but these still being the sai files) like some not very clearly described via their names but Enough that it's distinct & in tandem with the visuals i can be like, right, that one

10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw

i still kind of treat clothing as a bit of a hassle and an afterthought lol, like In Theory i totally appreciate like, its adding character, being a fun way to add details / variation, even like the Fun in the challenges of giving it texture and weight and stuff but i'm just like, i have a terrible time as usual like Thinking Of An Outfit or things like that, and my approach is just like, i don't love to have to change much to put in the details of clothes or spend that much time on it lol. that can vary / could change, but for now i like to keep it simple, so perhaps the tee or a tank top as a default is most appreciated lmao. very handy that, say, a tee for winston is very appropriate. i think it could be fun to do different styles / outfits & there's a little bit of that that i've drawn to be sure, but it's also in part the way that like, the quanstache helps but removing the context of what he Usually Wears can just make it vaguer that it's winston at all, even though at this point i'm truly like assuming people expect it to be him. who knows. but i do enjoy that just Drawing A Tee approach. short sleeves, straightforward shape, (more) open neckline (than other shirts, potentially) so again shoutout to the alignment of winston wearing tees anyways and that being kind of distinct for him

26. What’s a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended

hmm nothing off the top of my head (which i'm so good at: anything at all off the top of my head lol) that i would say was Wildly different but sometimes people will comment something about probably winston art about him looking sad lol when it's v much depicting a particularly warm/happy mood, i was just also drawing his face, like going "oh damn i was too Subtle here i guess. this isn't rian comforting winston b/c he's sad, it's rian being like 'thanks for giving head (oral sex edition)'" with this one lol. and like sometimes when i Am drawing him expressly sad it doesn't quite seem to come across fully when like, i'm going "and around here one might then react to crying by (also, or already) being frustrated / annoyed, or like a combo of vaguely annoyed / slightly bummed and just trying to tamp Everything down" and then it's like, is it even clear that despite this, he's crying in this lil pic? sometimes perhaps not. other times i make it much more obvious in the first place lol

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated

i don't think any piece is like, particularly underrated, at least in that it can kinda always be that way b/c it's like, your enthusiasm for The Fave & your ingenious material for them, vs that being an especially specific / exclusive experience lmfaooo so it's like why doesn't this all get a zillion notes instantly....but truly my baseline expectations might be more of like, you know, Niche Visual Art with preestablished followers and getting those notes in the tens or twenties even if maybe five of them are self reblogs, that's solid / average. but at the same time i'll be like "hmm was this one underrated?" and it'll have like dozens / scores of notes and i just didn't particularly remember as much lmao like oh alright, and doesn't always seem that clear which ones get More Notes, though other times it does align like ooh yeah that one's especially good.

to seize this opportunity and list some specifics just based on vibes and fun though, rather than particularly seeming underrated by any consistent metric, Have You (collectively) Seen:

this tayston classic?? not that it's underrated but that it's like, well, inherently, not enough people have seen it lol. i Often think of the scene that's illustrated and the illustration itself, i did so just yesterday. love the coziness / relaxation and my wrangling the colors into that pale yellow / purple situation, i remember that was a challenge lol.

This tayston classic??? exact same "not enough people have seen it, inherently" kind of underratedness lol and my thinking of it often as well, V successful imo & i like it a bunch, the innovation of winston's tears as like, Negative Space in a [blush] field, and then also the fun of flowing to the sides since he's lying down. and how it juxtaposes nicely with the previous link; the obvious Contrast in goings on but the same personal affection & mutual wellbeing enhancement. can't go wrong or even struggle much w/coloring when i go for monochrome [vivid blue i like best]

feel like the Sequential Drawings from late 2019 even are underrated by me lol, what with not being any Single drawing really, i can kind of forget about them lol, but as i'm reexperiencing by tackling the Very Sequential Drawings whodunit wip, there's fun of Many Expressions included (also included when drawing like a collage of [emoting character] lol) and of course, like, A Scene playing out. here's the tayston one, who wants to be the hundredth note. very fond at the time and now of their parallel Really?s to go with the crucial one-two of trading [surprising the other] lol. shoutout to all the blushing throughout, love to make it vivacious blue thusly

and then the benston one, i also happen to enjoy seeing my own like artistique innovations in how i'm drawing xyz unfolding lol, true in any examples from anytime really, it's an ongoing process, but real Tbt moments here & with the tayston pic. very rare greyscale, i definitely don't remember their being any Particular reason for it, maybe just didn't wanna bother picking any other monochrome color at all lmao. and it's a charming and fond scene as well imo, so who can argue with that? unshoutout still to idk why months ago, definitely a While after actually posting it, i got an anon flippantly asking What This Post Was About, which: it's contextualized in its caption and then in the tags even further, and i feel like if someone just genuinely wanted to know, perhaps ask with a little more specificity than something that can be taken as a rhetorical "that was weird :/" message that idk why one would muster the motivation to send. when it's also like, what it's About is winston being autistic and that being relevant to all other components of one's identity, like his sexuality, and that here he's feeling vulnerable about sharing genuine / unfiltered Aspects of that even without saying "it's an autistic sensory thing for me" but also With an expectation that it might be flippantly dismissed and/or interpreted as offputtingly Weird. making it a bit more [art imitating life] when having gotten an anon flippantly going "weird." i wouldn't think there'd be an overlap b/w [people who'd wanna send an anon about something from like a year or more ago] and [people who haven't osmosis'd something about All Autistic Winston Billions All The Time around here] but then idk, people speak up at unexpected times. dunno why once there was a lively evening w/several people sending asks about stuff in the ocean

again might've been inadvertently too subtle with a riawin pic when not like nobody saw this one but it seems not nearly as many people had registered the reblog with a sparkle emoticon as having an embedded link and thus viewed the Shirtless Braletted Edition. and, you know, look at it again lol, it's fun. riawin [and they're both having fun] like, ingenious

also this riawin pic that i think is just another of great success, there's many lol, but especially clapping and cheering for Any bg elements / props, basically lmao....a nice ode to rian "hardly knew ye" of the short hair and cluttered desk, idk why they got rid of the Stuff :( i guess the depicted quant convo is still a kinda implicitly canon deal, too bad we only saw so much of it and it doesn't seem to Speak to any genuine relationship, as is the problem with whatever positive / aligned moments they do seem to occasionally, implicitly, just out of frame Have....handy to have Known b/c it's billions that nothing good was guaranteed and so like, made sure to cover a variety of quant dynamic bases ahead of time, even though aus & what ifs are forever the way already, puts a nonzero damper to have to sigh over canon. i like that this one has this like Lively Atmosphere while it's a very mundane situation with their both having this grounded & chill vibe. just having a chat. i suppose everyone does love having coffee, and even talking to each other about it. cassandra again, the billions' writers following my art are wildly misinterpreting it....i still truly forget that i drew that one pic of winston & rian standing next to each other going :] w/rian slightly behind and to his left / our right w/arms crossed and right hand on her upper arm and how like. i drew that Before the s5 finale w/that shot Just Like That of them, rather than as fanart inspired specifically by it afterwards. they are standing there

and then idk on top of going back in one's own archives and going like oh it's fun to be surprised with something you haven't looked at in a while and it's so good / still pwns, it's also easy to be hype about the freshest / newest works lol. like have you seen the [astronaut winston removes opaque helmet for merperson taylor] drawing, it's novel and fun and stylish and i like it, sequential too even, dramatic And tender, babey. have you Seen the [quant head tayston], you can even see a greener blue than i usually use. or a bluer green perhaps. and while we're sexily here, extra delighted with this pic's vivacity as well, fun, a Tee, expressions and highlights, give winston a [Considering] mouth twist, extra success in the roundness of his head silhouette lol, taylor just entering the scene with some easily provided casual affection. and the bonus yet also, lbh, key context via caption of course lol
