I probably have said stuff like this a lot already, but fuck it it’s important: progressives and feminists have a bad history with a lot of men’s issues and recognizing them. People act like feminists and progressives biases don’t have consequences, but out of feminism we got the duluth model for dv, feminists like Mary Koss defining men out of rape and domestic violence, harassment of those who research male victims and female abusers, and feminist organizations actively lobbying against more funding to male dv shelters while misreporting the numbers of male victims. And that’s a tiny sliver of the issues, never mind how men of colour, disabled, neurodivergent, queer, or lower class men get fucked extra in all of this.

Like yeah it’s not just progressives or feminisms fault, and this is not meant to be a complete condemnation of either of them, especially as both groups as movements have and continued to fight for important things. But there is no ideology without bias, and there is no ideology whose biases can’t produce harm. And fundamentally a lot of people in the these movements like to white wash them, which in the long run further perpetuates these issues and is going to cause problems for feminism and progressivism as a whole, most likely to the detriment of the good and important shit they uphold.

i hope you all understand the reason why men are so messed up is because no one lets us talk about our problems.
