Again, I love this arc of "fail → try again (a little too hard) → fail → Succeed (only when balancing fun and training)" that Ash goes from BW to SM.

And idk I guess I just get sad that some people get so focused on how "cool" XY is that they forget how much of a stepping stone that season is meant to be.

That Ash didn't had the right mentality in there. That getting stronger only is not the answer. That he needed to lose there to remember that fun is a big part of journeying (and specially of pokemon mastering!!)

Something he seems to take into his heart in Alola

people love to bitch on BW, but gosh, does it set up Ash's need to get strong in Kalos (to a fault) nicely. Like, there's plenty of moments we can see that the Cameron loss did affect him.

Is interesting how you can even see the essence of "Kalos Ash" in those key moments.

I really wish people tried to understand what BW symbolizes for Ash's growth cause man, I really enjoy the arc he goes throught post DP

Why? Well, I went to my AO3 account, and like a solid 1/3 of my history was completely deleted - as in the works were deleted. Additionally, I haven't been reading much lately, so I have no newer titles, unfortunately. But here's the couple I have:

there's always this thing that we're becoming. Brilliantly written, genuinely gorgeous, in character, etc - it is smut though (top notch smut, though)

I'm pretty sure I enjoyed TntDuo Content I Don't Want To Attach My Username To too - also smut lmao

Agape - NOT smut, for once, but never finished lmao

There's also this fic I am completely not connected to ha ha it's called Losing Face and while it is unfinished I heard that the author is doing this like kinda rewrite kinda reimagining sort of thing where tldr it's the same concept just executed better ha haa👀👀👀

Another one is real life au - it's VERY heavy though. Like, I had to stop reading it at some point cause it was legitimately just hitting too hard. It is well written, and it's supposed to evoke those emotions, but just be VERY careful with it. VERY tldr is that it's about Schlatt - Q's abusive ex - becoming Wilbur's sugar daddy. It is VERY dead dove do not eat, and deals with SA and s-cidal ideation. The fic is called Sugar Lips, but I won't put the link here cause seriously, it's fucking heavy - and in a very realistic way, not the fantasy "eating someone's heart while they're alive" type of thing, but in a "this happens to real people in real life" type of way. Idk if you still want to read it dm me for the link but yeah, just please stay safe, guys

And then there's one work which I cannot find for the life of me - I don't know if it got deleted or something but if it wasn't, tntblr please help me find it It was about Wilbur coming to Quackity when his stitches break. Once the guy stitches him up, there's a whole scene when Wilbur has a breakdown and Quackity helps him through it. Then I believe it's kinda this sort of "montage" of how Wilbur and Q kinda grow closer, and (spoiler alert) it ends with some event during which Sapnap and Karl show up and there's arguing and at some point Wilbur and Sapnap start fighting (physically) and Wilbur ends up beating Sapnap to death. It was so well written, and it was one of the earliest fics i've read, and i haven't been able to find it for a long, long time now

Overall, a really fun and strong season! It feels like they tried some new things with regards to animation and storytelling, which was cool to see. And I’m also happy to see more diversity in the BG characters which is nice!

BITZER WAS REALLY GOOD THIS SEASON!! He was a lot less stern than previously, it feels like? No episodes about Bitzer being controlling or letting his authority getting to his head. But I live to see my good boy be happy so I’m glad for him ❤️

Im trying to pick a favorite episode but there were too many good ones! The dance competition fills my shipper heart with joy. (and there were so many other shippy scenes like OMG they didnt need to go that hard but they did)

And even though we got all these new characters aardman still decided to make an episode with my adopted son, Mowermouth the Goat. Didn’t expect that it would include shaun being friendly too him?? Which is really funny to me. Also @msmimundo once joked about a goat/shaun ship and i’ve been into the idea ever since LMAO

To me the weakest episode was when they raised the bird. Like the premise is super cute because they just adopt this baby!! But idk it just lacked any memorable jokes and in the end I felt like nothing really happened. But that’s honestly the one not good episode to me so overall a great season!!

Sonia already said this but some episodes would have been better if they were longer. It might be because Aardman likes to use feature film tropes and add movie references, which sometimes feels a little off in a seven minute short narrative?? Idk thats my theory for now. Maybe it’s just that i love sts and want more of it always, lmao
