I love Loki so much but his stans are exhausting. They convinced themselves that Marvel hates Loki personally for being popular and taking the spotlight from the heroes (as if they care about what about the franchise gets popular as long as it keeps viewers) and are giving him bad storylines on purpose to punish his fans. I've seen them unironically use the word misandry twice when talking about Marvel's treatment of him, one of which even said that the MCU has a "bias against white males". You can't make that shit up.

They make it so embarrasing to be a Loki stan, which I am. I know exactly which Tumblr user you're referring to. I refer to them as salty, and you can tell from their speech patterns they're the ones always sending anons complaining about the Loki series in anti Sylki blogs.I want to yell at them that misandry isn't real and that white men are not oppressed.

And I say this as someone that holds a grudge towards most or maybe all of the directors in anything MCU!Loki related. As I've said before, I only watch MCU stuff for Loki. I especially loathe Joss Whedon for the Germany scene in A1 cus yea, let's compare the formerly queer-coded and now canonically queer character to N*zis, and second are the Russos for killing Loki off like that and being annoying about it in interviews, and their cringey gay Russo bs. I don't like other directors either, but my dislike is not as bad as those I've mentioned.

Loki & Sylvie are not the same person.

They are two separate individuals who have had very different life experiences.

They are both ‘Loki’s’ which the show makes clear does not mean they have the same DNA. I mean we saw many other Loki’s including an alligator - which should make it explicitly clear all Loki’s do not share the same DNA as our Loki.

What makes a Loki a Loki is that they have the same ‘Temporal Aura’. Essentially that means they share the same soul.

Loki & Sylvie are literally soulmates.

1. People are allowed to like whatever ships they want. Liking a problematic fictional relationship isn’t going to hurt anyone in real life. 

2. People like these types of ships because there’s something appealing about someone seeing you at your absolute worst and still loving you anyway. 

3. Giving a villain a sympathetic back ground isn’t about justifying their actions but about making the audience sympathize with them and realize how easily we all could turn into those people if we had lived under the same circumstances.

if by their reasoning Loki and Sylvie are then same person then Mobius should be in love with all the variants in the void even the alligator because you said all variants share dna so the are the same person and since Loki does so much “obvious flirting and affection”then Sylvie should as well (and not ,rightly fully so, yell at him for thinking the should get pie while the timelines are dying)

And yes, before you come at me with all your reasons as to why you I am the immoral person because of my shipping choices, please note that you are the last person on Earth I would take moral science classes from. I mean you don't expect me to listen to a person who preaches me how a fictional ship is problematic all the while attacking real life persons right? The priorities seem out of place to me. I can't express how angry I get when I see people calling Sylvie "blond Loki." A big part of Sylvie's characterization was her differentiation from the concept of a Loki. She cut her hair, dyed it blond, changed her name and actively hates being called a Loki. Her name, her identity as Sylvie is used by the creators as a way to humanise her and make her her own person rather than the failed example of a cosmic concept.

So, when people refuse to address her as Sylvie and instead go around calling her blond Loki, they actively use it as a way to berate her and put her down. Which for some reason gets on my nerves. I find it humiliating and dehumanising for Sylvie. And I don't know what to do about it.

I know Sylvie is a fictional character and there is no way I am going to attack a real person for how they treat a fictional character. I go around posting stuff on my blog about how fiction is different than reality. So, I don't want to go around pointing fingers at other people and accusing them of being a bad person etc.etc. But everytime I do come across such posts, I do feel very angry and upset. And I feel stuck between wanting to preach them about their behaviour and letting them exercise their right to address fictional characters in their own way.
