My haitani father Shio headcanon is just a bit too funny cuz of how well it works that it sounds like a waste of perfect canon idea and crossover for both of wakui's works.
Aside from the obvious physical features very very obvious, identical eyes, nose, blonde eyebrows, rindou's face form, ran's hair color palette and (arguably) bonten hair style, blah blah i mean just look a the pictures below, you can also bring up any fact from either manga and add it to the hc and it fits in just SO WELL, i'll give the first example, The Haitanis are very obviously rich spoiled kids like have you seen their apartment? They have a fucking dj set, only rich kids with neglective powerful parents will have no problem paying for that, just saying, and even though i love him let's be real Shio is the type to be that parent, i mean cmon he's rich like crazy rich (filthy yakuza money yum yum) he tots would give his children WAY more than enough allowance so they can leave him alone, also the way they act, i've always the Haitanis were the type of kids that think they own the school cuz their dad is rich .
Nvm if this never becomes canon or both universes don't collide, it's just so entertaining to keep connecting the dots that were likely never there, like how Rindou is a heavy drinker cuz his father drank alot with the rest of the Yotsurugis and he tried to imitate him from a young age that it became an unhealthy habit or if you want to add more drama he only drinks cuz he looks up to his father but Shio favors Ran cuz he can posssibly succeed him (canon power complex) so Rindou resorted to drinking cuz it's the only thing like his dad that he can do. Heck yeah i made it angsty!!!
You can also add great context to his fear of Yakuza, picture this, when he was a kid he got up in the middle of night after hearing a loud noise to search for his parents and witnessed Shio (canon Yakuza) pew pew-ing some poeple and surrounded with scary men, that probably scarred him for life that he was so terrified when Kakucho got them interfering with some, OH OH something just came to mind, if he's the son of a yakuza yeah he didn't wanna clash with other yakuza families cuz it can end in a blood shed and risk his and his family's lives.
And i'm gonna add this one not very small detail and i swear i'll shut up (for now), i know it's just a stupid headcanon that is very far from becoming reality and i don't have to take it this deep but hear me out, why their last name is Haitani and not Yotsurugi like their dad, Shio is powerful and have many enemies right ? So he simply decided to protect his children and their identity by giving them another last name likely their mother's (yk like minato with naruto style plan ?) So Haitani is actually their mom's family name. I rest my case. Thank you for coming to my useless ted talk.

I finished posting the unabashedly educational Sword Fic.
It includes a detailed (but hopefully beginner-friendly) explanation of all the steps of making a Nichirin blade from a sunny mountain like Mt. Youkou, a touch of swordsmith and metalworker folk lore (including demons), meta about what must make Kimetsu no Yaiba's swordsmithing methods different from real life methods, some character exploration for Haganezuka and his polishing method, vocabulary and additional resources in the chapter notes, and hopefully, an endearing, silly POV character to learn this all through.
#my fics#SWORDS SWORDS SWORDS#would you like a story about the years of background of this fic?#I was not very well-versed in metallurgy until recent years but my study of the Japanese language goes back to#well#longer than some of you may have been around#I always liked samurai and swords for the aesthetic but started to take more of an interest when I lived in Shimane#and on a day when I had a friend taking me around to rural sites associated with a legendary monster she was like#let's go see the sword museum while you're out here#but that museum was closed (it comes back into this story though)#so we went to a different one that no longer exists but that was my first encounter with how much work it takes to make the sword ore#fast forward years later#I am writing this blog and it becomes known as a fun place to read about Japanese culture as seen in KnY (thanks glad you enjoy)#I decide that I must tell people how hard it is to make the ore and finally visit that main museum on a trip back to Shimane#I collect material and struggle to do more research and wrap my head around it#and I write the first version of Teppi's story that focused mostly on the smelting and glazed over the forging and polishing and stuff#meanwhile I am in a job situation I have already long since wanted out of and soon I want out a lot more desperately#job searches were disheartening but then I found THE ONE I WANTED#and on that first interview when I was already like PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE#they asked if there's a Japanese cultural topic I could suddenly explain in great detail if asked#and without mentioning this blog I said I had recently written up something for fun about tatara smelting methods (and they forgot this)#fast forward again and I very happily got the job and was very nervous as I got the rundown on a very large annual nerd project#and when they announced the topics for that year I saw that tatara smelting methods in the region I knew them from was on the list#and I was like#asudyaiusdyuasdyuahduahduhsdhuPLEASE GIVE ME THAT#and i got it and when I went out there for research people were like#...why do you know all this...???????#and since I dared not mention my KnY blog I was like#...I lived in Shimane...#it seems I broke the tags because the rest of the story got cut off but hi yes you get the idea

Maybe it has to do with my OCD and how I just don't like talking about ''future''#things in Certain Terms. Like if I was going to say ''Oh yeah sure. come over to my house in a few months''. I would have to follow it up#with like ''HOPEFULLY you can come over to my house in a few months'' or 'They'll come over in a few months MOST LIKELY''. Because just#stating that something will happen matter of factly takes for granted like.. what if somehting horrible happens and I DONT have a house#in a few months? or what if something bad happens to me. or to the person coming over? I can't ever DEFINITELY say with 100% certainty#that one could ACTUALLY come to my house in a few months. anything could change. So I have to allot for that in my phrasing. hbjjkn#There are a lot of situations where you're expected to just Assume Things but for some reason that bothers me. My brain literally does not#even Assume the most basic things.. like how do *I* know that just because it's someones birthday that they want to be wished a happy#birthday? what if they dont? everyone is different and has different preferences. I should check with them first. or wait until they public#ly announce that theyre accepting birthday wishes. I have to allot for all 5034859069 rare possibilities at any given time and never take#anything for certain. etc. ghjbjhbh.... ANYWAY.. I have been feeling a bit sick lately as usual.. but still slowly making progress on some#things. Moslty I need to edit costume photos. make sculptures. and work on the game. Going back reading some of the old writing from like#2018 and suprisingly I don't have to change that much of it? In fact I like it mostly. so that's good. I would be very interested if I were#playing the game myself. hi! sorry for the lack of posts, i have been going through something recently and although it's not over, i did have a break today. i like running this blog and i love the people who interact with it, so i decided that today, i would spend some time to make some Ink Questions!
I have the Ink Questions queued up so they'll post for you guys, however I will not be actively making posts until next week or the week after. Hopefully I make enough for you guys, and if I don't, then im sorry.
I will still be reblogging things occasionally, and I will still be active on my main blog every so often.
About half an hour after I post this, today's Ink Question will be posted and the rest will be posted from the queue until they run out. :)
After the thing I'm going through is over, I'll try to make Ink Questions for you guys daily. I've wanted to do that for a while, but this time I want to dedicate myself to it. Maybe I could put out Ink Questions on weekdays, but not weekends(?) I'm still thinking...

I hate being lazy when it comes to creating original stuff, because I'm always several years early to trends, but I never have anything to show for it!!! And then when I finally thing "Ok, maybe I could make that thing now" SUDDENLY the genre of idea I had BLOWS UP and nothing I make will ever live up to the hype xD maybe it's good tbh.... I love being lazy <3 I hope my uncanny ability to predict online trends keeps me unmotivated to create anything forever till the end of time, because I honestly am totally incapable to sticking to a single project :,D and I'd get bored so fast.....

that period of time between south park post covid being announced in 2021 to summer 2022 when everyone got obsessed with truffula flu was moderately heavenly
#i'm going through all my chronological memory hoarding playlists from late 2013 to now#taken all day but i'm currently on around june 2022 and it's so nostalgic#but like that entire time was unreal#never forget south park post covid announcement literally curing me of like 2 years worth of on and off depression#i was like still weakly crawling out of the abyss and then adult scientist philanthropist kenny jsut yanked me out of there so easily#no warning#and then i was fine. it was so funny to me like i was in the middle of my eateot induced existential crisis where i couldn't sleep and then#everything was just normal? literally whatever episode of my life i was in had ended and everything reset for the next episode#which was such a good episode as well. and then the tflu era??#reading every existing camp entre blog within a month#and then the swag and bitter archives. literally the summer of all time#not just for that i mean it was just a good summer anyway#the only logical direction for life to go in after that was down bc i'd literally peaked for about 8 months#but it was a good time while it lasted#this was meant to be a happy ''remember the good times'' post but how come i'm only allowed to be happy for like a year at most#but i'm allowed to be in the abyss for 2 years#hopefully not longer bc i'm only now just getting over the cursed half of 2022 that doesn't exist to me (sep-dec)#but like. 2015 and first part of 2016 good. 2016-2018 bad#end of 2018 and most of 2019 good. end of 2019-summer 2021 bad#end of 2021-summer 2022 good. end of 2022-now bad#the maths does not add up#anyway shoutout november 2021-july 2022 i love you soooooooo much you were so sexy <3#(apart from the agoraphobia but that was part of the fun)#(like i'd be out in public and i'd see a pic of entre on my phone and i guess too much serotonin would be released in my brain and i'd get#anxiety and have to go home and i couldn't eat in public and i basically couldn't leave the house)#(because i was too obsessed with tflu)#(that wasn't the main reason it was mostly a wild fear of food poisoning from anything. but tflu didn't help and that is so cool of it)#(truly an iconic time. okay stop talking)#ramble

#ask#anon#i am being a bit dramatic but my main beef is with the marketing team/management#basically acting like every show is some super exclusive intimate event#and then announcing a new mini tour literally every week for the past three#bc i think it creates the illusion of tickets being scarcer than they are and there will be people whove bought transport and hotels#maybe paid more for the ticket than they usually would#just for cheaper/closer shows to be announced 2 weeks later#i know that's literally just marketing but it feels a bit shitty#and then theres probably my own parasocial issues with my fave band doing something that im just not super into#which is obviously in no way dans fault or responsibility that would be insane#but its weird feeling alienated from a community im used to being a part of#again not anyones fault but this is also my blog and i can say what i like its not like im in dans dms like blue sky sucks lol#that being said i once again do feel like im being gaslit into believing blue sky is good#but that is a separate issue#tldr dan hasnt done anything i am just a whiny little bitch lol#(but also bring back kyle will and woody i miss them xoxo)

I have a lot of Thoughts about the Wuthering Heights casting announcements that my friends have already been subjected to, but I’ve now seen people suggesting how Luke Pasqualino would’ve been an amazing Heathcliff and I’m so sad that we’re not getting that because it would SO FREAKING GOOD

Finnish media: a police officer on horseback rode into someone when breaking up a protest so that the person fell down. that was fucked up and probably not allowed
People in the comment section: well it's their own fault for not moving out of the way. the police told the people to move so anything that happened after that was their own fault.
#there were some smart commenters agreeing that yeah that was messed up#and okay i have some complex thoughts about this protest#it was an anti-nazi protest and the organisers told police they'd be at this one square in helsinki#unfortunately the neo-nazi parade had already gotten permission earlier to be there#(yes nazis are allowed to freely hold protests but we have fairly strict rules for how stuff can be banned based on ideology)#(it is messed up but it's not the main point here)#so the organisers were like ''we'll be there earlier and leave before the nazis come''#no fucking way that would be possible without all-out fighting in the street. the job of the police is among other things to keep#these two protests away from each other#so rather than compromising and going somewhere else the organisers decided to just hold the protest there anyway#so the police didn't let them do it#so quite frankly they chose to focus on opposing police rather than the actual fucking nazis#and by doing so took away from the message of ''we don't want nazis on the streets''#because now we're not talking about the nazis or how many people opposed them#we're talking about police#and my social media is filled with people acting like the nazis were allowed there and the anti-nazis not for some arbitrary reason#or due to ideology#and not because of pure bureaucracy: the nazis announced it first
