Some of you are too afraid to admit this but we all know Star Wars works best when it goes full soap opera

the acolyte confirming mae and osha are 'technically' the same person and giving them opposite arcs (osha choosing the dark side by murdering sol in cold blood vs mae choosing the light side by letting her sister/her attachment go because it's what she wants/what will be 'best' for her) truly emphasizes star was' core message that no one is above the dark and everyone can be redeemed. they're the same person. it can go either way at any time. we can choose the dark at any point. we can choose the light at any point.

The fact that when Mae asked “What do you want, Osha?” and the FIRST thing Osha does is to turn to Qimir and say “let my sister go” like. That moment is just so dear to me. It’s just the perfect full circle moment for both of them, how the moment Mae stops clinging onto Osha so tightly and thinking she knows what they should want, and instead asks what Osha wants, she frees Osha to show how much she loves Mae in return. Osha was fighting so hard to be a separate person from Mae as kids that it almost came off like she didn’t like her or care for her at all, “I don’t want to share it with Mae,” etc etc, but that was just a consequence of the situation they were in and the way Osha was feeling overshadowed by Mae. Mae loves Osha and Osha loves Mae too, so very much, and when Mae lets go, Osha can finally show it

Finally, I understand why Torbin killed himself. He heard the R&B song they wrote for the Acolyte episode 7.

so qimir mentioned he wanted the power of two... sooo maybe we're leading to an osha + mae team-up as the true power of two???

I love how Osha and Mae both get the opportunity to be confidently all “oh yeah I can pull off pretending to be my twin no problem” and both turn out to be super super bad at it

I do really appreciate that The Acolyte is basically going through every identical twin trope in existence. First we got Psychic Twin Connection and Good Twin/Evil Twin. Now we're doing, like, the Sith/Jedi version of The Parent Trap, made all the more interesting because Qimir knows he's got Osha (the tattoo was there for a reason! Chekhov's tattoo!), but Sol doesn't seem to know he's got Mae.
I can't think of any more twin tropes off the top of my head at the moment. If there are more, though, I'm sure Leslye Headland had them listed on a whiteboard and was crossing them out one by one as she found ways to work them into the story, lol.

Thinking thoughts about how confused and terrified both Mae and Osha were about the fire and how the blame keeps shifting by around. Definitely think something suspicious is up, like I don’t think Osha and Mae’s mom would just die without a fight ( even if it was Mae that started it but I think not). Anyways def interesting and I really really want to know now why the Jedi blamed themselves for what happened???
