Nonny here, do have a list of any writers you would recommend and maybe even one or two of their fics?

Would love some more reading material and thank you so much if you do end up sharing with me.

Hi Nonny! Absolutely, I do! There are a ton of amazing writers, both here and on AO3, especially for Star Trek since it's such a long-standing fandom. I will absolutely list some of my favorites, but please do not be afraid to explore the tags both on AO3 and here on tumblr, because there are a ton of amazing writers that I haven't encountered yet, and I'm probably leaving some out unintentionally. (I'm so sorry! My memory is like that of a gnat at times!)

Still bored? If so I got a question, but if it's already been answered please just ignore.

So I'm not fully up on my Smiles lore, so I've been wondering a little bit about Ammon. In particular how you came about creating him. Given that he exists pre Calamity and therefore, a time in which we know very little of, were there other characters from Zelda lore or your own ocs that you pulled from for characterization? Or was it moreso just crafting him to fit within that world's setting and contrast that iteration of Link?

Idk, it kinda just fascinates me when people create more characters to make the pre Calamity world feel more lived in, especially fleshing out Link's family. Hope everything's going well and your doing good!

So I was nervous to make Ammon cuz I didn’t know if any of the new games would explore Link’s family. We all know that there was concept art of his sister and possibly grandfather, and in canon his father was mentioned as a knight. And I’ve seen people’s interpretations of his father, but I was nervous to make my own interpretation cuz, what if in the new games, they explored Link’s family? Which was something I really wanted cuz we don’t get a lot with Link imo.

But nothing happened so after totk I finally decided to make my own father guy. Idk where I was going with him in the beginning. I didn’t want to blatantly copy Lofty’s Abel so I made his hair shorter with different type of facial hair. But I know I really wanted Ammon to look a LOT like Link, just with darker hair. I tried to make him almost the polar opposite of Lofty’s Abel but that didn’t work cuz while he was cheerful in the beginning, he’s not as cheerful now. He’s not blatantly grumpy or pessimistic but he’s not a happy fellow lol. Idk where I got the idea but I for some reason took his arm away cuz I thought it’d be angst material, same thing with his backstory with the yiga. I just need some angst 🤌 even if it makes me sob like a baby lol.

Also I’m not sure where I got the idea of Ammon being Rhoam’s body guard. It would’ve made more sense if he was a random captain of the guard, but I wanted him to be almost famous amongst the knights, very high ranking. So I made him Rhoam’s body guard. Also regarding his name, I loved Lofty’s name Abel so I went to the scriptures and found a cool name for him, even tho they’re so similar 😭 (but hey we started a trend!)

And of course I see Link as being under or exactly 5 feet so Ammon had to be short himself. He’s 5’2” cuz I make all my characters closer to my level, and since I love me some tall woman and short men I made his wife taller lol.

But yeah Orman, Joy, Sarah, and Ammon are all ocs! Orman’s children are ocs as well. Aryn and her grandfather are based off of the concept art of Link and his family so I wouldn’t say they’re exactly ocs but they’re close enough. I named Aryn that name cuz for some reason I headcanoned that she was like, Marin reincarnated cuz she wanted to be with Link, so she became Link’s sister? And Aryn is a mixture of Aryll and Marin’s names so… yeah lol.

Idk if I actually answered your question, I don’t fully understand what you were asking, but I love making characters to liven up the world. I’ve really gotten to know Ammon more as I write him, and I love him so so much. He’s my guy.

silly and bashful and lovesick atsumu sounds like such a treat and i can absolutely see it! he's got all that bravado but in the end he's just a loverboy. i think he falls in love fast and hard but it takes him a little bit to realize it. and then he's just over the moon about you!! but in proper atsumu fashion he goes about it the wrong way and gets you all riled up lmao.

One thing I absolutely love about some writers is where they can make me absolutely DESPISE a character that was/is wholesome and kind in the source material.

Like I find myself HATING characters in a particular fic and finding them utterly disgusting. But only in that fic alone.

Because as soon as it’s over I’m like “Ah yeah they’re a cool character.” 🤣🤣

It’s like magic and I love it when a writer gets it just right. I know a lot of people hate when a character is used as a plot device but honestly? I love it.

For example, if someone used Kirishima or Ururaka and makes them devious and twisting the story to suit their needs to try to drive a wedge between Baku and Deku, it’s like 🤌🤌🤌 for me. If they do it right of course. Building that drama and tension!

Because we all know they are cinnamon rolls and wouldn’t be shitty people but it’s just interesting to see how much I can hate a character in a fic, it’s like a hook and I have to see how much “THIS BITCH” is going to screw everything up until they get caught and then get what’s coming to them.

And then as soon as it’s over to go to the authors next fic and they are supportive bffs and wholesome. It’s so…it gets the brain juices moving and I just love it 🤣.

It always just shows good writing to me that someone can take a GOOD wholesome character and make them twisted/conniving. Granted I’m good about separating everything and knowing it’s not real and of course the character wouldn’t behave that way. I know some people don’t enjoy it and get upset to see their favorite characters act so cruddy or be OOC like that.

For me though 🤌 in terms of shipping. YES I have to be in a special mood sometimes for certain kinds of angst with this situation. But generally I’m chill with it. As long as the creator isn’t toxic themselves.

(And Im not trying to start an argument or whatever about people using Ochako and Kirishima because again I know some people hate that for them - I KNOW Katsuki is used the same way in other ships and so is Izuku. Like I said I like when a WRITER specifically has a range to their writing with various characters and isn’t toxic themselves).

I’m usually not a GoNana girlie, but I would 100% eat that up if you ever wrote it. Their shared grief over shared losses (Geto’s defection and Haibara’s death) would make a hell of a lot sense for this pair, and could also give an interesting twist to it (can you imagine Nanami kinda pissed at Gojo missing Geto at the beginning, like “at least Geto is still alive”? It’d be peak angst material right there 🤌).

Okay okay I thought about this for a bit...

I'm gonna talk about one of my favorite ships from JJK

NanaGo or GoNana

We often see Nanami being annoyed by Gojo, but I think deep down inside he's smirking and thinking about how good it is to have his friend still there with him. Does Nanami harbor any ill feelings towards Gojo despite this? More than likely. He has been shown to say that he doesn't know why they all try to fight curses when Gojo could essentially take care of it all.

Yet...

It's my belief(and possibly others) that Nanami clung to Gojo after Haibara's death. I think Gojo looked at the remaining students at Jujutsu Tech and saw this sad young man and tried his best to take him under his wing. With Geto gone, Gojo had a big hole in his heart.

In the dead of the night when everyone was supposed to be asleep, Nanami would send Gojo a text after he had a terrible nightmare about Haibara. Gojo might come to Nanami's dorm room when he was feeling particularly lonely and mad at the world.

With the pair feeling helpless at times and reminding themselves of how love is such a curse, I think they tried desperately to cling to one another. This could have manifested in many different ways. I do think some romance and some intimacy, especially with the fact that Gojo loves to give Nanami notes with a penis drawn in it(Gojo saw Nanami's huge cock and said WOAH! Let me make reference to that every chance I get)

In the end, I think Nanami decided that being a sorcerer wasn't for him and went off to college and became the Salaryman. But...if the light novels are anything to go off of, Gojo was the one who asked him to come back and take care of Yuji

My beauty Aster? AHHH!!! I am so happy how much you enjoy her she is a fantastic character and such a charming girl to write about ( When I am not giving her angst)

As she gets older she sings for fun rather than prestige and you can find her belting out the Star Wars equivilant of ABBA, probably Chiquitia and Dancing Queen as her mains.

Aster is a nap queen and if it goes past the alloted time so be it, she needs her rest and will appear when she does. Well, kiddo, if you ask me, there may not be a more underappreciated ship in ATLA than Kyakoda. Yes, in canon there’s a whole lot of implicit angst, and there isn’t too much for fic writers to work with. But since when does this fandom care about canon??? 😤 Or need lots of material to write a minor character??? If you ask me, ‘Kya Lives’ AUs are so underdone, and I love modern AUs which feature Kyakoda! I mean, doesn’t it just sell itself?? We’re talking about a ship with Hakoda, whose name appears under the dictionary definition for Daddy, and Kya, who…hey, ya know what, let’s talk about Kya actually! 😏

For original watchers of the show, Katara was pretty easy material for a cartoon character crush. But now that the fandom is older…well, it would make some sense for us to give her mom some attention too, huh? 😝 And she’s more than just an aged-up carbon copy of Katara—we’re talking about the woman who raised the Meat and Sarcasm Guy himself! If you ask me, all that sass and eccentricity and corny humor is something Sokka shared with his mom, which makes her character sooooooo much more fun! 🤌 Kya’s banter with Hakoda has to be top-tier—he laughs at her awful puns, she teases him about his hyper-methodical planning, and the shenanigans they get into are absolutely legendary, as both kids and adults. 🙌

And speaking of shenanigans…let’s not forget that Sokka and Katara were born one year apart. Their parents had back-to-back babies, so I think Kyakoda’s friskiness speaks for itself. 😎 I mean, is it all that shocking, though? How else are they supposed to spend those cold South Pole winters? That’s months huddled up indoors together…which makes for plenty of time to get…creative. 😉

I tend to bounce back and forth between sub!Kya and dom!Kya—but I always imagine her as a tease. 😛 Whether it’s in the middle of an important meeting with SWT elders or just in the middle of the night, her hands tend to find their way into Hakoda’s pants—and after eating greasy seal jerky during dinner, she is very deliberate in the way she licks her fingers clean. It’s partly because she loves getting a rise out of her chief, and partly because she doesn’t exactly mind the mild ‘punishment’ that follows when they’re alone again. On principle, Hakoda is against serious corporeal punishment…but if his wife is being a little bratty and wants a gentle spanking while he takes her from behind, who is he to deny her? 😜

When Kya is on top, though, she prefers to make sure the chief keeps his hands to himself. Could he snap the leather ties that she uses to bind his wrists if he really wanted to? For sure, but after a long day hunting or fishing or doing Miscellaneous Chief Things, he’s a bit tired, and Kya has a relatively easy time enforcing her “look-don’t-touch” policy while she rides him. He’s the leader of the village with oodles of responsibility, so making him helpless enough that he can’t even touch his wife’s boobs is actually surprisingly cathartic. On the occasions when Kya’s really feeling in charge, she’ll bind his wrists and use her mouth to edge him, and she knows his body well enough to drag it out for about as long as she wants. And when he’s done, she’ll just park her booty right on that ruggedly handsome face of his so he can return the favor.

As for their other kinks, I totally hc that they’d be into body worship. Life in the South Pole may be rough, but that also means they’re in solid shape, too. After Hakoda shows up in the doorway just in time to whack Yon Rha and save his wife, he spends that night going over every inch of her skin.

And this isn’t a kink, exactly, but the “Tui and La Position,” exclusive to the Water Tribe (before Sokka introduces it to Kyoshi Island), is something Kyakoda would definitely love to do. Look at those two koi fish and how they’re swimming together, and you’ll realize what position I’m talking about. 😏 It’s not a bad way to keep quiet by keeping your mouth busy when you’re living in a small, close-knit village.
