Wikipedia tells me one of the meanings of the name Andromache is "man-battler".

Andromache is named such that she fights against men. All the men in her family get killed. Her father, her brothers, her husband and even her son. IIRC, in contrast, her mother lives and dies naturally at her father's house. With the exception of Astynax, all the men are killed by Achilles.

What is Lions & Men: The Musical?

Lions & Men is a WIP 10-episode show that reinterprets the Trojan War into a sci-fi setting!

As of now, it’s just a passion project, but I would like to make it into a real thing eventually!

Troy (2004) 20th Anniversary Celebration / May 13-14th 2024

Hi, everyone!

This will be the very first time I will be doing an event in my blog and I decided to do it in honor of the underrated special interest that turned me into a fanfict writer.

Troy (2004) turns 20 years and I want to give it love in this particular birthday. Unfortunately, sickness limited the amount of activities i could plan, so I will be doing a reduced one from my original list incluíding things i can deliver for you from bed on my phone.

What will i offer you for this special event:

-Movie Talk

Drop an ask and just let's discuss the film in whatever form you prefer. What are your favorite scenes/characters? Anything you want to revisit about the movie?

I will be open to (respectfull) myths and history vs film talks too, as long as it is not started in bad faith. The point of the event is to celebrate: we can laugh of the llama in the trojan market and other mistakes, but I won't accept hate.

-Drabbles

As the ones who know my blog are already aware of, I mostly write reader inserts fics for the movie. For so, writing will be a big part of this.

Pick a character and a prompt from any of the lists linked here and I will write a short thing for you.

In all cases for writing activities, both platonical or romantical requests are welcome.

-Headcanons

Character headcanons: can be x reader oriented or just about the character, it's up to the participant's choice.

You can also ask for headcanons centered on my fic series ( or its still in process AU)

LISTEN! LISTEN!! This is what makes Hektor and Andromache's relationship so incredibly important to me! It's what makes it so investing. If you summarize the Iliad, strip it down to it's bare bones to present the story simply, their relationship isn't particularly remarkable. For the purposes of the narrative, it could have so easily been a standard marriage and no more, functioning mostly to satisfy social expectations of the time. A husband who provides for a subservient wife. And yet the Iliad weaves in details like these, which reveal so much more within their relationship.

Consider what this section says at its core. Andromache loves Hektor's horses and she indulges this by caring for and spoiling them. She does this at the expense of tending to Hektor first. She does this often enough that Hektor thinks of it even in the heat of battle. And he speaks of it without a single hint of anger, and feels compelled to immediately follow it up with how he loves her and is so proud to be her husband.

There is so much more to their relationship than a marriage. That's an important part of it, of course, but they can't be defined as just a husband and wife because that neglects the elements of their relationship that don't fit in those roles. Andromache often doesn't serve Hektor first, as would have been expected of a "good", obedient wife. Instead she's prioritizing her own interests and enjoyment, and Hektor loves that. He talks about it with such affection that he feels the need to gush about how pleased he is to be married to her. It shows understanding of what makes her happy and its importance to him. They know and love each other on an intimate and personal level. The little details about their affection can't be reduced simply to a duty they feel for each other because of their marriage, they clearly share a profound care that shapes them both. It's so incredibly tender, Andromache's total comfort in their relationship, and Hektor's captivated adoration of her 💕💕💕
