none of these kids in tomodachi game were able to graduate highschool
And i doubt they ever will 😔
If they win the game and are able to go back to their lives, who among them would want their past lives back? With everything they know now about their family and friends.
It would be fun if one of them actually goes to finish highschool in another city and they make a new group of friends only for one of them to invite them to tomodachi game 2.0. The reactions are priceless.
Shibe/Tenji/Shiho: this shit again 😰😭
Yuuichi/kokorogi: this shit again 😈🤪

The Ootori princess
2
Tw: implied abuse, implied birth complications
That evening, Yuuichi made some pasta, it was easy to make and he'd spent too long helping Kyoya unpack to make anything that took time. Kyoya was a special kid, he'd always been special- at least to Yuuichi; he never liked to play with other kids his age, so when he found the hosts Yuuichi had been overjoyed to see Kyoya spending time with people for the sake of spending time with those people… So when father hit him for it, Yuuichi had been *furious*, not only had father been abusing Kyoya like that, but he'd decided that having friends was something to be punished? It made his blood boil.
Father was a bastard, a dirty, lying *bastard.* Yuuichi hated him with a burning passion, but he wasn't just going to call him out on it or risk losing his position as heir. Though he *would* scream at father for hours for what he'd been doing to poor little Kyoya. Yuuichi would protect his baby brother until the day he died, he didn't care if that meant yelling at father- if the man decided it was alright to hurt Kyoya then it was worth it.
Kyoya was such a lovely little boy, Yuuichi could recall the day his brother was born, he'd been born early- ever the punctual one. He had been such a tiny thing, pale too- the doctors had taken him away into intensive care and Yuuichi remembered being so upset that he couldn't hold his new baby brother, how silly of him. Kyoya had made mother sick too, Yuuichi could recall father calling Kyoya a tiny parasite for hurting mother like that… he supposed that was the very first time father looked at Kyoya as a problem to be solved, and not as a son to be loved. It made Yuuichi sick, but back then it only made him sad, to hear that his newest sibling was somehow bad.
It was all going to be alright now though, Yuuichi would protect Kyoya. He finished the pasta, adding the meatballs and sauce; tomato and basil. He poured the drinks happily, he was sure one little glass of wine would be fine for his brother, Kyoya was 17 anyway. He took the plates into the dining room, it struck him how much more light and airy his dining room was as opposed to the dark and gloomy one in the main mansion… Yuuichi wasn't one for symbolism- he used to *hate* literature studies… but there was something about how much safer and nicer his dining room was, even the table was smaller, more homely… there wasn't a head of a table when the table's round. He hoped Kyoya would see it as home just as much as he did himself.
He glanced at the young maid, a sweet young girl named Yuki, only a year younger than Kyoya was. Yuuichi had insisted on paying her double what she asked for, she was so young, she deserved the extra money. He smiled, calling over to her, "Yuki dear! Would you go and fetch Kyoya for me?" He'd usually invite the staff to join him for dinner, especially the younger ones, but this evening was just for him and his little brother, not that he's not still looking out for his staff, "there's a plate for you in the kitchen, and some left in the pot if anyone else wants any."
Yuki nodded and ran off, Yuuichi smiled and sat down, smiling. He wondered if Kyoya would befriend any of his staff, but he didn't get his hopes up, Kyoya was never one for friends. Yuuichi remembered how the last friendship his baby brother had, and how that had turned out- with lots of tears and hiding in the closet for hours… Yuuichi pondered whether hiding when he's upset has something to do with father, he hoped not.
When Kyoya finally joined him, Yuuichi noticed that he'd brushed his hair, Kyoya's hair always looked so nice, but it was getting awfully long. It tickled Yuuichi to notice how it curled at the ends, just like Fiyumi's. "You should get your hair cut soon, it's getting a little long," he meant it casually but instantly noticed how Kyoya paused, then glanced down, as if thinking. Yuuichi had always been able to read people, but struggled when it came to his own family, he couldn't tell what Kyoya was thinking, he would just have to wait.
"Yuuichi? Can I grow my hair out a little bit?" Oh. Yuuichi hadn't been expecting that response, but if it made Kyoya happy then of course. He nodded and watched Kyoya almost smile at him, before noticing the drink set out for him, "is this wine?"
"It's only one glass, you'll be fine Kyo." He smiled, taking a sip of his own wine, it was a good, strong red, lovely. The food was also good, not that Yuuichi was one to brag; it was obvious that his food was good by how Kyoya almost smiled whilst eating it.
Yuuichi loved spending time with his baby brother, Kyoya was such a sweet kid, he tried really hard not to be, but he was just a child at the end of the day, and Yuuichi adored him. He watched Kyoya over the table, noticing how silent the boy was, it was father's fault, obviously; Yuuichi remembered being just as scared of talking at the table when he lived with father. Yuuichi curled the pasta around his fork, glancing at Kyoya, "so," he started, noticing how Kyoya almost jumped, "how's school?"
Kyoya paused, clearly overthinking his words, "good I suppose, it was just the same as last year." Yuuichi noticed how Kyoya barely touched his pasta, seemingly only eating when he noticed that his brother's eyes were on him. The older Ootori paused, watching his brother with a careful eye.
"Are you not hungry? What's wrong?" He wanted to make sure Kyoya felt safe and happy, he wasn't sure how to go about that, but he was trying his best.
His head hung in shame, a sigh left Kyoya's lips, "I'm sorry…" his apology just broke his brother's heart, this poor boy carried so much weight, "I've just… it's a lot to process, I'm enjoying the food, really. It's just, I've a lot to think about…" Kyoya had indeed had a long past two days, and Yuuichi couldn't blame him in the slightest for the way he was behaving. He glanced down at his own plate of food, putting his fork down.
"Would you rather eat your food in your bedroom? Or we could watch a movie in the living room? Do you know what would make you more comfortable?"
He watched Kyoya pause, clearly thinking. He loved his brother, so, *so* much, and hoped he was feeling better here. "Can I eat the food upstairs please?" Yuuichi nodded, understanding that even though his dining room was homely, Kyoya would feel more comfortable in a smaller, safer room. He watched Kyoya pick the glass and plate up and leave the room in silence, hurrying out the door.
Yuuichi sighed, frowning, he wanted to spend time with his little brother, he couldn't help but feel let down by the fact that Kyoya didn't want to have dinner with him, but he understood that Kyoya was going through a lot at the moment and that he needed space. He just ate the rest of his food in silence, wishing he could ask Fiyumi for advice- she was always much better at dealing with any issues involving Kyoya, but Fiyumi was likely spending time either at the hospital or with her husband, so she wouldn't be able to help. To be fair as well, Yuuichi really didn't want to have to admit that he didn't know how to help their baby brother, he was just as good of a sibling as her goddamnit!
He took his plate to the kitchen, smiling at the maids who were eating their own food. "Evening ladies, hope you're enjoying the pasta." The older maid, a sweet 20 something American woman, Maddie, assured him that they did, telling him he did a great job with it. Yuuichi loved it when people enjoyed what he made, he'd taken up cooking specifically to spite father- the man had forced Fiyumi to learn "in order to be a good future wife" and Yuuichi's blood had boiled at the idea of his little sister being forced into such a role. So he had attended those lessons with Fiyumi, and the teacher didn't want to tell him to leave, he was the heir after all, and who'd want to tell the Ootori heir "no"?
Yuuichi was snapped out of his thoughts as Yuki put her fork down, looking at him curiously but with a smile, "how did dinner with your brother go?"
He didn't blame Yuki for asking, she was a sweet kid and she just wanted to be nice, but he sighed, shaking his head sadly. "He decided to have his dinner upstairs, he's got a lot to process." Yuuichi understood how Kyoya was probably feeling, and he didn't want to look insensitive, but he couldn't help but sound incredibly let down. He watched the two maids exchange a look, and Maddie spoke up, smiling gently towards him.
"Sir, I can't help but think you're putting a lil' too much pressure on fixing it all yourself, especially so fast. The kid's had a long day, he's probably just tired, you know he loves you, so there's nothing to worry about for the time bein','' her sweet southern american accent was soothing and motherly, "you just focus on relaxing for the rest of tonight, alright sir?"
Yuuichi nodded, she was right, of course she was right… he needed to sleep, he'd had a long day too, even if Kyoya had been more worn out by it. He'd just get some rest and it'd be better in the morning, he and Kyoya would have the whole day to finish unpacking and just spending time together, and the day afterwards, Kyoya would be out with a friend- so Yuuichi could speak to father about everything. He sighed again, nodding once more before Yuki spoke up, quiet but friendly, "I could bring his dessert up if you'd like? Make sure he's alright too?" She was such a sweet girl, and around Kyoya's age too, so many he'd open up to her a little more- oh, maybe they'd be friends? Maybe even more than friends? Oh Yuuichi hoped so, Kyoya desperately needed a girlfriend, someone soft and gentle would be perfect for him.
"That's a good idea Yuki, thank you." He smiled at her, putting his plate in the sink. "I think I'll take my leave now, I've got some paperwork to do, I might go to bed early tonight as well…" and with that, he turned on heel and slowly made his way to the door, leaving the kitchen.
He loved Kyoya, really, he loved his baby brother with his entire heart, and it hurt him a little when Kyoya never seemed to want to spend time with him. Yuuichi understood that it was probably his own fault as he'd rarely taken the time to spend time with Kyoya when the boy was still little, not to mention it was also half father's fault, for the way he isolated and bullied poor Kyoya like that- Yuuichi remembered getting grounded for playing with Kyoya when he could have been studying, even though Kyoya had only been three at the time. Yuuichi sighed as he remembered the first time he'd realised that hey, maybe father *isn't* this perfect, shining figure of authority.
He sat in his bed, not bothering to head to his office, he *hated* his office- not usually though, only when he thought about father like this did he hate the office. He didn't like thinking about himself being too much like father, he didn't like thinking about all those comments people made about him being the perfect 'carbon copy' of the man that raised him, he didn't like to think about the nervous way Kyoya watched his every movement when they spoke- the way he flinched at the slightest wrong word. Father was an awful, *awful* man, and Yuuichi hated that he could forget that sometimes. Sometimes he could get along with father perfectly well, and he hated that about him, he knows none of it is genuine, father is a cold man, one who doesn't care for them, and Yuuichi shouldn't find himself enjoying father's company as much as he did. He wasn't immune to manipulation like he seemed to believe, but father still didn't have him under as much control as Kyoya, and Yuuichi was going to do his best to help Kyoya out of that pit of hate and failure.

I don't know if it's okay to ask more questions about Yuuichi, but I'd like to know, what does he think of the Sakamaki brothers? He must obviously hate them, but I suppose he must have personal opinions for each of them. And... how cruel was Yuuichi with Yui at the beginning of their relationship? When he drank her blood for the first time, what did he think about its taste? Did he become addicted to her blood? And sorry if there are too many questions, feel free not to answer if you want. ♡♡♡
Mun!Yuki: Oh don’t worry, Sweet Anon! I’m absolutely comfortable talking about this! I love talking about my son! :D okay just let me answer this question in sections so it will make things easier.
~
Well since he has a bad history with vampires that fuels his hatred for them, He absolutely despises the Sakamaki’s. They’re purebloods. At first, He would be too blinded by his hatred to judge them individually. The only reasons he knows their names are because they’re the sons of Karlheinz. I can’t imagine what he thinks about them. I think he would keep his guard up with everyone. He finds Shu to be like some sort of questionable creature rather than a vampire, finds Reiji a clever and formidable opponent in terms of strategy (He can tell from the poison in the tea), dislikes Laito’s pervertedness and finds him shameful, hates Kanato’s crying and temper tantrums (What Yuuichi calls) “constant bitching and moaning”, find Ayato to be a nuisance with his “ore-sama” this and “ore-sama” that (he had to deal with Ayato and Kanato in class and he hates it), and I feel like Subaru is the only one he had actual interactions with. He did come in to stop Subaru from harming Naoki in the MB Saga when she was hanging out with Kou. He just finds him as the definition of destructive violence. He’s just as hostile to them as he is to other vampires.
~
Regarding the beginning of Yuuichi’s relationship with Yui, it’s mainly fueled with distrust. Due to Yui being targeted as a potential threat to Humanity and regarding reports on how she was taken over by Cordelia in the HDB Saga (This is due to a tip from Richter regarding how it’s the same thing with Naoki and Asher), Yuuichi is quite distrustful of Yui. She is just barely human with that heart. A human girl carrying a heart of a vampire since she was an infant? That’s not possible for a normal baby.
He is very cruel and manipulative. He would question her, keep her under-surveillance at all times (isn’t allowed to go anywhere without him, has to have lunch with him and stay after school with him until he finishes his work, etc), and threatens to kill her if she disobeys. He even brought a shock collar and GPS tracking device to forcibly make her wear at home to make sure she does not leave; And if she doesn’t, He shocks her with a certain amount of volts where he can even make her pass out with the shocks if she is about to attempt an escape. He is also very strong for a turned-Vampire, even he had enhanced strength as a human due to the effects of Asher’s blood, just like Naoki; So he would pin her down by grasping her neck, point his gun at her face to make her comply to what he says, and chain her to a bedpost with an actual pair of cuffs when she goes to bed to make she doesn’t escape. If she tries to scream, then he would call the organization to involve her father and tell them the Vampire Hunter, Komori Seiji, was an accomplice for raising her. That surely would get her to do as he says.
Ironically, He’s the only reason why she’s even alive. If it were anyone else from the organization, she would’ve just died right there on the spot without any reason. So she got lucky that she was targeted by Yuuichi. Though, the only reason he keeps her around and hasn’t killed her yet is because, for some reason, a human with the heart of a Demon Lord’s daughter is deemed a threat and he is the one chosen to kill her. After being turned into a vampire by Richter, He wants to figure out why Richter chose to turn him even though Yuuichi himself was assigned to kill her despite the relationship he had with Cordelia. At this point, He can’t consider Yui to be human. Even though she would be considered barely, think about the time she spent with the Sakamaki’s. It’s been a whole month. While Naoki is Subaru’s bride, it still would’ve meant Yui had to deal with at least 5 of the brothers, plus she’s also having to deal with the 4 new ones. And it’s all because of her blood. Yuuichi even spectated that Yui was never a normal human to begin with. Even before being given Cordelia’s heart. Like she was born to be the perfect vessel, out of all the others. Yui could even be somehow connected to what happened to his family. Even if it wasn’t directly, with everything that happened with Yui, Yuuichi himself cannot look over that possibility. As a hunter, he needs to think about these possibilities.
But you also need to keep in mind, while Yuuichi’s actions are not justified or any way acceptable, these are tactics he uses against Vampires. Everything he does to Yui, they are normal to how the hunters in the organization treat vampires. He grew up believing these are the correct tactics to use because of Tsurara. Not the ‘right’ tactics. But the ‘correct’ tactics. He became a professional at the age of 8, which shouldn’t be possible for just anyone. He is blinded by the fuel of hatred and revenge to stop and think what he’s even doing to Yui. What makes it worse is when she tries to defend the Sakamaki brothers. He was also raised to believing that manipulation was key to get to a goal. Even if it meant lying and using the truth of others. A hunter’s job is to hunt and do the job. Any connections outside of the job is meaningless, especially if you die on the line of duty. He honestly believed he was doing his job to protect the people. He never knew his actions were just as inhumane. When he realized it was and his actions made him no different from the purebloods, Yuuichi is appalled to realize that he himself was a murderous monster. Not a protector of humanity. He was killing innocent people the entire time with the tactics he uses, people he have working hard to protect that ended up being forced to become vampires, just to fuel more fire into the burning hatred and rage. It shows how morbid when things you thought was normal turns out to be inhumane. That the things you were protecting were actually dying by your own hands. That knowledge is enough to make him see himself as a monster with hands stained red in the blood of the innocent. He hurt Yui who knew nothing, he killed many innocent people forcibly dragged into that world to fuel more hatred, and yet someone like him is still living despite all of that. He himself comes to realize and acknowledge that his actions were unforgivable and no way to be justified. That’s why he would give Yui the chance to kill him, to give her the chance of revenge for everything he’s done to her. That’s the only human thing he believes he could do for her.
~
When he drank her blood for the first time, Yuuichi was fascinated. It had a bittersweet taste to him. The only blood he had to drink were the vampires he killed to satisfy his thirst when it becomes too much, and they tasted gross to him; Yui, on the other hand, has that sweetness that felt rich in his month, yet it made him crave for more when there was that bitter aftertaste. He wouldn’t admit that he became addicted. But because he was only a newly turned vampire, He does become addicted to drinking her blood, like a newborn drinks their mother’s milk.

anime I’ve been watching lately
...or not watching, as the case may be, because this list wasn’t too long to start with but it’s getting steadily shorter.
Fairy Gone: I think the main reason I’m still watching is that it’s sort of a bubblegum for my brain. It’s not what I’d consider “good” but it’s like... something non-offensive to look at for half an hour. In a better season I probably would have dropped it, but I suppose this will have to do as far as anime goes. At least I still really like the world design, and the characters are also nice to look at (except for the Cute Anime Girl Permablush /broken record, I know).
It still annoys me though that it could have been so much better - with better pacing, better focus, better character writing, more ambitious direction, more ambitious visuals... mostly the better character writing, though. It’s been how many episodes, and we still don’t have a grasp on our main character, and I don’t mean her backstory but like... what kind of person is she? What does she do off the job? How did she manage in life before we met her? People keep saying that her presence changed the Dorothea gang for the better, but... we never actually see why, what it is about her that has a good effect on others. Yes, we saw her being kind to whatshisface, but again, we never saw what made her care, what aspect of her character is that is at work here, other than her being a PAW main female character. (But at least she’s not bumbling, and there’s been no mention of her cooking so far, which are some of my biggest peeves on the Cute Anime Girl trope list.)
And this is a symptom of a problem - the show tries to present its story as this huge, epic historical fantasy, except it just feels flat because there's no emotional stakes, we don’t get invested in the characters enough to care about what happens to them. At least I don’t. Like, bald dude dies in this episode and his death is made out to be this huge thing complete with Marlya screaming his name to the sky and whatnot, and apparently it will push Marlya to run away because omg she brings misfortune to everyone except... who was this guy? Have we even seen him before? And have we seen Marlya struggle with supposedly being a harbringer of doom, like actually struggling with it in a way that affects her relationship with others, not just her randomly mentioning it and having flashbacks where people die due to issues which are, as far as I remember, all unrelated to her person. (Other than her mother I guess.)
And on that note, I looked it up and the screenwriter for the show is actually a light nover author - well, that explains a lot. As I mentioned previously, this show would work so much better as a novel. I’d probably enjoy it quite a bit if it was a novel, with descriptions and inner monologues and various points of view and whatnot. I wish there was a source novel for Fairy Gone that I could read instead of watching the show.
Mayonaka no occult koumuin: Still not much to say about this one, it does its job and does it well, entertaining me for half an hour. It’s nothing to write home about but it’s fun in its own way. I started reading the manga, and it’s pretty much in the same vein. It’s snack, not necessarily the healthy kind, but it won’t upset your stomach.
And on the chopping board...
Carole & Tuesday: Dropped. I’m sad because I expected a lot more from this show. Again, it’s not that it’s bad per se, but I just find it terribly uninspired and boring. Yes, the visuals are great, yes, the direction is competent, yes, the girls are cute, but... I need more than that, and this show has nothing I could latch onto. It’s meant to be “old-fashioned” I guess, but in a way that frankly, reads as “outdated” to me. And I wouldn’t mind it if the characters were interesting, but they’re not. We’re over halfway into the season and they still have nothing in the way of personality (because “kind-hearted, naive rich girl with a dream” and “down-to-earth street-smart orphan girl with a dream” are not personalities), and there’s basically nothing in their relationship, or their relationships with others, that feels organic and natural instead of just a checklist of tropes. At this point watching the show feels like a chore and well, I ain’t getting paid for it, so.
At least if the story was interesting, if the characters are not! But no, it’s not, it’s again a checklist of story points and tropes, executed in a perfectly competent manner, sure, but it’s so boring. It’s like Zankyou no Terror in that Watanabe takes a genre prevalent in Western pop culture but not in anime, and just adapts it into anime without adding anything of value or interest to it, aside of the visual delivery, I guess. (The worst is that I can totally see him kind of patting himself on the back.) And yes, I freely admit that my love for TO-Y has set the bar impossibly high when it comes to the “young rebel takes on the music industry” thing but even with that considered Carole & Tuesday falls short. Ooh they’re making Real Music and not AI-equals-manufactured-idol-pop crap! So amazing! ...eh.
And on that note - if your story hinges on the main characters creating music so good it touches everyone then that music should be pretty damn awesome. But the girls’ music in Carole & Tuesday is... well, it’s nowhere near “great”, never mind “pretty damn awesome”.
Fruits Basket 2019: Dropped as well. No rant or disappointment here, I knew exactly what I’d get going in to the show, and I got exactly that, but it’s not my thing. Again, before someone gets on my case, it’s not that the show is bad, it’s just not what I’m into. I was pretty much only watching it for Nakamura Yuuichi.
