the obvious sun/eclipse. i can never escape them in any form. main dimension sun/eclipse, dark sun/eclipse, sunbeam (eaps sun)/eclipse, sunvant/eclipse. all of the above pls. but if we're going with MAIN dimension suneclipse their relationship could be sooo many things. (which is y i like the ship so much bc its so versatile!) it could be a fixer-upper, abusive, friends/enemies with benefits, you name it. anything and everything is possible with these 2 bitches and its wonderful

sun/solar is actually the first thing i shipped. even BEFORE sun/eclipse. shocking, ik, but i felt like they had sooooo much potential THAT NOBODY FUCKING SAW. like- an emotionally broken down mechanic who feels guilty over the death of his own sun and an anxious mess that just wants to make things better. how could it be any more perfect??? solar coping over his suns death with sun by accepting that hes gone but at least he has another to love and he wont be empty forever. this is for my own au becuzzzz i wont let go of a chance to talk about them :3 we got sunshine(sunvant)/solstice(eclipse) and they are an absolute WRECK. theyre both fucked over by their past and the beginnings of their relationship is so rocky bc sunshine doesnt trust anyone + doesnt understand nor believe he deserves affection (hes also constantly wanting to go back to lord eclipse). meanwhile solstice doesnt even see sunshine as a person and rather as a project to work on (and also an opportunity to maybe better himself. maybe if he can help someone then that means he can be a better person). solar comes in later and while i havent Completely thought about their dynamics i will say that both solar and solstice are very overprotective of sunshine. they both constantly butt heads bc they both want to protect him while sunshine just sits in a corner head in hands trying to figure out how to get them to stop without having his own panic attack (they get better tho dw <3)

ohh in that case I absolutely agree with you, there will be a lot of people, especially poc, stop watching, but it probably won't "matter" if the overall numbers rise since they'll get a bunch of white (maybe the racist ones who skipped s2) fans back or in general new people who only see this season as a campy funny vampire show. And yeah, from everything we know so far, it feels like they won't revisit anything from the past, not 1x05, not the trial in any meaningful way. I can see them either pull a "Lestat actually was forced" or they'll just gloss over his involvement since it would completely negate the reunion scene in the finale, wither way, both alternatives are not what I want to see. Watching this show I really had hopes to see them do what is essentially an interpersonal horror story for Louis justice, ultimately ending up for eternity with his abuser who killed his daughter, top tier gothic horror romance, but they seem to have decided to ignore the first two things in that genre. I was also looking forward to devil's minion, but that excitement has also just ended for me. I think in part of why I can't see them go forward with an engaging story is because they killed both of the audience stand ins. Claudia is dead and Daniel is not human anymore, I think that outside perspective is really what made the first two seasons and now we have none of that.

they were always banking on rabid anne rice fans bcuz they're the ones who kept her rich even decades into her books being shit. so they can literally do anything and it'll be "successful." it won't be memorable tho if they rly fuck it and ppl will be more wary of trusting a formula like this again. this has already always been shaky with the race swapping, but they did so well with it up until now. idk, we'll just have to see where it's going.

wrt lestat, his version of IWTV *is* part of his book, so I expect he'll comment on it somehow. we'll just have to see how far. accepting that he was wrong in the fight was a step, but I rly want a lot more out of that. this isn’t to dig on ur anti zutara post but rather start a discussion.

in my experience, the reason we zutarians don’t like zukka is because of the animosity we get from the fandom. we analyze the subtle details we are given because practically every zuko and Katara interaction in the show is because all of them save the first have some degree of zutara in it. their chemistry- be it platonic or romantic- is undeniable.

and yet, we are told by zukkas and kataangers that we are wrong for shipping the ship. a lot of zukkas sideline the women in atla- sokka is given a lot of Katara’s qualities that are stated in the show (ie: people claiming that sokka is the team dad when he literally confessed that he saw Katara more as his mother than his actual mother), mailee is just there (majority of the mailee fics on ao3 are just them being a side couple in zukka fics), and not to mention comradekatara’s posts from back when they were lesbians4sokka about Katara being homophobic. even if it was a joke, it was something that people took seriously. a lot of the same zukkas are the ones making fun of katara for talking about her mother’s death when that literally happened three times outside of the southern raiders episode.

dont get me wrong, I know that the zutara fandom was absolutely rabid in the early 2000s and that’s where we get our bad reputation, but the only time that we’ve had issues with other people in the atla fandom was when they interacted with our content and it blew up.

Honestly you make some points I agree and disagree with so I'll go one paragraph at a time

I do agree that some zutirans get hate that isn't deserved. I definitely think that a lot of the fandom doesn't like zutartians, I'm part of that group as well (for the most part). I also do think they have chemistry, but more in a way that's more like family rather than lovers.

I think the over-analyzing is a bit too much, I'm overwhelmed every time I see a zutara post. Obviously, some analyzing is okay, I sometimes analyze ships, but I feel like zutartians do it sm that it feels kind of annoying?? Maybe that's just me, but I feel like you don't have to analyze things just to justify your ship. Just ship what you like

I agree with the fact that zukka shippers tend to sideline women in fics. I've def read fics where katara is sort of villanized, and I definitely don't agree with that. A lot of the time, ppl prefer MLM ships to than WLW ship, (which if you ask me, is because ppl prefer male characters to female ones (*cough* misogyny *cough*)(though i dont think most of the misogyny is purposeful))

Idk if it's bc we're in different parts of the fandom, but I've never really seen ppl say that shipping zutara is wrong?? I've seen ppl say they don't like it, and why, but they always state that they don't care if people ship zutara and that they're only stating reasons they personally don't like it.

Perhaps it's because I tend to stay away from the more toxic part of the community because if I see smth I don't like I more often than not just scroll past. But I def believe that their are zukkas who are toxic, but I think some of that is just because ppl are toxic, no matter what fandom you're in.

I can't really speak on kataangers because while I do like the ship, I'm not really in that part of the fandom, so I'm not sure if ppl are unnecessarily mean to zutarians.

(Edit: nvm kataangers can be real assholes, I def believe that they're unnecessarily mean to ppl who dont ship kataang 😒😒)

As for the zutara Fandom in the early 2000s I can't really speak on that bc I didnt watch atla until I wanna say 2017 or 2018. So I don't really know what the fandom was like.

Now I normally try to finish books (kindle) even if they aren’t the best bc who knows maybe the story will pick up later or whatever, but when the god damn main woman character (in this fantasy book) refuses to eliminate a threat (the villain that terrorized her her whole life, caused all kinds of death, destruction, terror, chaos, he’s completely evil and unhinged) even though she is in a position of power to do so and just puts him in jail instead bc “it’s not in my nature, I can’t 😢” even though literally everyone (that knows 10x better than she ever will) tells her that this guy needs to be killed bc otherwise the whole town and surrounding towns will never be safe again. Que evil villain escaping (something everybody saw coming a mile away) and in his escape with the help of his minions (they were plotting???? What a surprise!!! 😒) he causes even more death, destruction, chaos, terror, at least 45 ppl die during his big escape and so the ppl come to her again and are like “well damn, that was a shit show, now he’s on the loose and needs to be stopped immediately. “Max, honey, please settle down,” Tillie said, rubbing her temples.

Her nephew had just woken up from his nap and was running around, bumping into things and knocking stuff over. It’d been a miracle getting him to take it in the first place, the kid yammering on and on about what he and his new friend were going to play once they got here.

Whoever they were, Tillie just hoped they’d be less hyperactive than Max.

“IT’S THEM!!”

Max rushed over to the door and started scratching at the wood like a rabid animal, a few chips coming off due to his efforts.

“Coming, coming,” Tillie got up from the table and made her way to the door. Opening it revealed an elderly Irish Wolfhound and her grandson.

“SAM!”

“MAX!”

The two boys body slammed into each other and hugged, both of their tails wagging even after max started biting the other boy’s arm with affection.

“Hello, Miss Ruth,” Tillie said, a tired smile on her face.

“Well hello there Tillie, thanks again for babysitting my little Samuel,” Ruth said, smiling back. “There was another attempted break out at the penitentiary and I was called in last minute.”

Max had barrelled into Ruth and was squeezing his tiny arms around her leg as hard as he could, shark mouth smile flashing at her from below.

Tillie was about to warn the older woman not to do it when Ruth’s massive paw came down to pat Max between the ears. The little lagamorph melted at her touch.

“I hope you two don’t mind, but Samuel hasn’t had his afternoon nap yet.”

On cue, Sam let out a large yawn, prompting Max to yawn too.

“Would you be a dear and let him sleep for a bit before playing?”

Tillie was about to say something when Max piped up instead. “Sure thing, Granny! C’mon Max, I mean, Sam,” Max started dragging a floopy looking Sam up the stairs. “We can nap in my room.”

“Welp, If it means I get a little more peace and quiet I’m sure a second nap should be fine,” Tillie laughed. “Good luck with your prison break, Ruth.”

“Thanks, Tillie. I’ll pick Samuel up in a few hours.”

“No problem.”

Once Ruth was gone she did a quick check in on the two sleeping boys before sitting down in her recliner and taking a nap herself.

In general I must say I believe every interpretation is somewhat valid when it comes to art.

Let's say you're listening to a break-up song some guy wrote about his very specific ex-girlfriend Aleisha. You might read the backstory to it and learn about Aleisha but you're probably not going to think about This Guy's Girlfriend Aleisha when you think of the song, but your personal experiences with similar themes of heartbreak/separation instead.

Like yes, technically the 'correct' meaning behind the song is about Aleisha but the story in your head, the one that applies specifically to you, is probably more interesting to think about than Aleisha.

What I'm trying to say is although I have very specific storylines and themes in mind when I draw, I like it when people take what I give and spin their own little tale out of it, y'know? I think it's neat. The best FNAF theories were the wrong ones.

Buuuut that's just how I feel about it anyway.

I did never say Javi was robbed, not in the reply to you or ever anywhere else. I just said Pyeongchang podium could have gone either way and that Javi's observation isn't wrong that he could have gotten silver. The fault however - if there is a fault - is at the judges, not Shoma or Javi or anyone who skated that day. If you got that vibe then I am sorry this was neither what I wrote nor my intention. But I do think that as a Shoma fan we can admit that both skaters were deserving of a Silver that day.

Yes I tag names. Yes his fans can see that I don't resent Javi over the Beijing comment and that I see myself as neutral. (I have Javi fans following me too and for them I wanted to be clear) It is also for tag organization. I always tag all Javi posts with his full name. The ones I don't always tag in full name are Yuzu and Shoma (bc it takes longer to write and I have countless posts about them) I didn't put Yuzu or Javi purposely in a bad light with my reply, so I don't see anything wrong with tagging them. If you didn't want ppl to see your opinion on Javi in the tag that is a different matter. And as you may have noticed I didn't tag Shoma as he isn't subject of the discussion just mentioned along the way with Pyeongchang's placements.
