It's crazy how my students really expect me to understand their racist pov by being "yeah but what if you suddenly had a Moroccan neighbour?" And I'm like, that's cool. I usually don't talk to my neighbours, but we could chat. Maybe I get lucky and we exchange food.

Or when they complain about immigrants taking jobs (typical) while they benefit from night shops that only such immigrants are willing to open up (plus they're always so nice their and import drinks and snacks I can't find anywhere else).

I'm sorry, but I love mingling cultures. I love meeting people from other places. I'm more annoyed at tourists that refuse to move out of the way cus they're taking pictures of the streets.
