You know, when i first saw Megatron, I only saw the tfp version, and i was really not interested in him. And thats what made me like OpRatch more than MegOp

Now, probably almost a year later, I'm watching Earthspark, and i like him, hes pretty cool, climbing up the likability ladder

Even though tfa Blitzwing will be my number 1 fav Decepticon forever and ever, but anyways.

Honestly, Megatron is awesome!

I even added him to the Bumblebee's parental figures list, which is a big deal in my head (cause Bumblebee is one of my fav)

Yeah i just paused in the middle of watching Earthspark to gush over how ive grown to like Megatron.

But i really wanna know about that one Megatron who becomes good (or at least an Autobot) and goes on the Lost Light (i think)

Btw, is there any fanfics where Megatron is a good father? It can be anyone, i just want good father Megatron fluff before i tear into him with the angst.

megop is at its peak when Op is a feral little gremlin who eats dirt and bites people in fights and Megatron is just like "why this one" while getting topped by someone who barely reaches mid-thigh.

and YEAH Sentinel is great at looking at the details and going "ok what can happen, what's mostly likely to happen, and what's possibly going to happen". Optimus as Magnus, Sentinel as an advisor, and Megatron as the kept wife. bc that's how the tfa dynamic is with megop in my mind.

also yeah what if Elita got out and managed to come back???? what would have happened. bc we see that the Autobots have no qualms about experimenting on their own citizens. case A being Jetfire and Jetstorm.

she would be an experiment, and if she got out away before they were ready to release her ofc they would drum anti-organic propaganda even more than they already do. which is also another fascinating part of tfa!

in other continuities we see that most cybertronians aren't too keen on organics, but sometimes we see that most life in the galaxy is organic. which means that in tfa they're deliberately isolating themselves, and warn their people about the horrors of organics, which Sentinel and Optimus face first hand, along with Elita.

if she made it back and managed to escape i think she would go to Op and Sentinel bc while she blames them for everything she knows that they're probably her only hope of survival.

and TFA megop!!!!! i think it has some of the most written for it but most of it is Not for me ya know? no shade, but Optimus is almost always made into some uwu baby when he's a GREMLIN and would sell Megatron's soul for one corn chip. (also Primus and Unicron apparently don't exist in TFA which has me 👀👀👀 bc that has some interesting connotations)

Optimus manages to make peace with an alien race, keep the Allspark out of Decepticon hands, regularly kicks their asses, while also basically raising an alien child that he got surprise custody of. and that's just season 1. Sentinel had his paranoia fanned and abused by Ultra Magnus, given power he wasn't ready for, and possibly also mind fucked to make him more compliant, bc it was Sentinel's idea to go down on Arachna 9.

both Optimus and Sentinel questioned things, and once Optimus was cut at the knees and thought to be neutered they turned their sights on Sentinel and made him into exactly what they wanted.

then he got a position that he never should have in the first place. bc his paranoia is so severe, imo, he shouldn't be in a position of power like that. he would be GREAT in an advisory setting tho.

and things shouldn't have gone to shit so fast when Sentinel became Magnus unless it was already that bad and his incompetence just brought the curtain down.

Could you please tell more about your take on SG megop? Like, what is the story in your head? What is their relationship like?

Oh, alright!

Generally speaking when I first started thinking about “SG Megop” aka these two:

I didn’t really have it clear that the ones we usually see around are supposed to be the direct parallels of G1 megop. When I discovered that, I had to rethink the SG universe as a whole. Those two designs above are now mostly used (in my head) for an IDW SG megop, and it dawned on me that every single continuity would have a different shattered glass megop. Which is Cool As Hell because it means double the fun for the ship dynamic!! 🥰

But for example, TFP SG would have a high fantasy vibe a-là Tolkien to me, with Optronix being a war strategist in an oppressive regime, while Megatronus is some kind of manager for the Gladiatorial fights. They become friends, Megatronus is a very clever, kind of soft spoken but extremely stubborn mech, while Optronix generally doesn’t show much emotions but develops a sort of possessive affection towards Megs. 

Since Megatronus ends up being linked to uprisings because of his public speeches, Optronix tries to vouch for his pardoning to Alpha Trion, the highest ranking mech as keeper of the Matrix and Optronix’s master. But what do you know, the Matrix feels Optronix is worthy of him and demands his body. So basically Megatronus gets his scars when he’s trying to help his friend out, Optronix slashes him with his claws, since he’s falling too deep into the Matrix’s lure, without meaning to. The Matrix gets a hold of him and transformrs Optronix into Optrimus Prime, a Literal God who has no interest in individual Cybertronians, but to the species itself and doesn’t recognise Megatronus. The plot here would be Megatronus trying his best to free his friend from his body’s prison, either by killing him or convincing a God to put down the Matrix lol

I mean I did think a lot about this because I had started writing something for it...

For TFA SG Megop I had an extensive talk with Cissy and it would be interesting to see TFA SG OP being at the top of the game, Magnus in a goddamn coma and he’s just a competent but lazy enforcer of the Autobot rules which are... actually, democratic? You know???? TFA???? With the Autobots being a kinda-dictatorship and all??? so THE SG AUTOBOTS ARE ACTUALLY pretty good?? I did not think much about it, but Megatron would be an idealist fighting for an utopia basically and he’d probably get captured at some point. OP would shrug his shoulders and be “yeah I mean you can stay if you behave” and idk antics ensue? 

G1 SG Megop is just op being a naughty old man and megs is a resolute yet awkward old man. lol ??? cute???

I like TFA Optimus the Bounty Hunter

I have seen bounty hunter AUs before, so please bear with me and my not-so-original idea. But I just want even more excuses for megop, soooo *shrugs*

So in this AU after the disappearance of Elita-1 Optimus is expelled from the academy. He's not a Prime. He barely has a credit to his name. And it was only because Ultra Magnus was able to pull a few favors that he got himself a ship. It's not a great one, but it works fine. Of course, it comes at a price.

Basically the Autobots are all "since you don't have the training/programming for civilian occupations (and you most certainly cannot be something other than what you are), you shall take on various tasks of the state and its law enforcement, should you choose."

And they basically explain the terms of the bounty hunting, only it had a twist where if OP doesn't meet his quota, he will be labelled a traitor and get himself put on the list. And they basically say it's either this or an exile situation where you'll die slowly from acid rain exposure. Wow, stellar options.

So now Optimus has this shitty ship, a shitty life, and a shitty-- no, near impossible-- assignment. How is he supposed to make that quota? How is he gonna fight Decepticons? Sentinel threw him under the bus, and is now the right hand mech of the Magnus. Maybe one day Optimus will look back and forgive him of being young and cowardly but today is NOT that day!!

So instead of OP and his team, it's Rodimus Prime and his crew who trails Megatron all the way to Earth. Only Sumdac doesn't find Megatron... Optimus does.

He was following a lead of some super secret Decepticon activity, as well as a large energy reading. 'They've gotta be connected.' He had thought to himself. And he could really use some confiscated fuel.

Just... gimme a barely-functioning Megatron who is trying to talk his way into distracting Optimus, but Optimus is like... just giving him the cold shoulder. Doesn't engage. Stays very observant of his high-profile captive and doesn't let him weasel his way out if this.

After a while, Megatron grows silent, and is mildly impressed by this Autobot. It's a long ride back to the nearest space bridge to Cybertron... so Megatron decides to pick his hunter's processor...

"You have a designation, Autobot?"

"Not important. What did I say about the talking?"

"You could always up the stasis cuff energy, to prevent all of my function."

"Yeah, well I'm not cruel. I know that if I do that, your helm will explode, because you won't be able to contain your insatiable need to pester me."

"Hn. Well, I..."

"I also know that if I do that they're more likely to short-circuit. Nice goad, you reeeeaally had me going there."

"... Hmph. You're a clever one."

"Silenzio. There's something to process: a word I just picked up on Earth. It's got a nice ring to it, maybe you should figure out what it means."

"... I am fairly certain I can infer it's meaning..."

"Silenzio."

Think I might have infected you with the "tfa megop to me" disease. The symptoms include brain full of tfa megop and looking at Almost Any Post and thinking "tfa megop to me". Some extreme terminal cases (me.
