It had been happening for a few months now, that Mikey’s brothers had noticed their little brother’s strange behavior. And as time passed, it only seemed to get more and more strange.
Raph was the first to notice. Mikey was… quieter than usual. At first he thought that something was wrong, that Mikey might had been hiding something. Either something he did wrong and didn’t want anybody to know about, or something that made him sad. He just couldn’t tell. So for the first time ever, he decided it was best to ask Leo for help.
Leo and Donnie however was just as stumped as Raph, not sure what was going on with Mikey. He didn’t seem any less happier than usually, just different, and well, not fully present. He often sat with his phone, either checking it or using it. At any sound or vibration he was on it, smiling as he checked whatever had just gotten in on it. But whenever someone asked him about it, Mikey claimed that he had no idea what they were talking about, holding his phone screen close to his chest. No one believed him on that.
But it wasn’t until a few weeks ago, that they learned Mikey had started to sneak out during the night. Donnie caught him on his way from the garage lab to the kitchen, in order to make himself another cup of coffee, finding Mikey on his way out of the entrance, making cartoonish sneaking steps.
“What are you doing?”, Donnie asked, causing his little brother to jump with a small sound of surprise, staring at him in panic, sweat already pooling from his forehead, his fingers nervously tapping together.
“Nothing! Nothing”, Mikey said with a nervous laugh, his eyes jumping from one point to another. “I was just, uh… Sleepinwalk! Yeah, sleepwalking!” And just like clockwork he closed his eyes, holding his arms out in front of him, before slowly making his way to his room, mumbling the word “sleepwalking” over and over again.
Of course Donnie went straight to Leo and Raph and told him what had happened. And of course that started sending alarm bells through all of their heads.
They started to stay up for longer, seeing if they could catch Mikey trying to sneak out. Mikey, in turn, would start sneaking out at a later time. They also soon found that if Mikey wanted to sneak out, he would find a way to sneak out. If only he was as focused and determined during training or missions…
Finally, after several weeks, Leo had had enough. He was tired of Mikey avoiding questions and disappearing without any notice. It truly made him worried for his little brother’s safety. Therefore he decided it was time to follow his brother, and figure out what he was hiding from them.
All three waited in the shadows, listening and watching, waiting for Mikey to make an exit. And just like they had expected, he came out of his room when he thought that the coast was clear. They followed Mikey as he made his way out of the sewers and up over the roofs, staying just far enough back so that he wouldn’t notice them, yet close enough so they wouldn’t lose him out of sight.
They found Mikey jumping down onto a fire escape for an apartment building, where he took a look around, seeing if anybody was watching him. Leo signed for the other two to duck down, so that they were hiding behind the edge of the opposite roof, just out of his sight. Once Mikey was satisfied, believing that he was alone, he turned towards the window that led onto the fire escape, knocking softly on the glass with his knuckles. The window was quickly opened by a girl, smiling brightly when she saw Mikey.
Raph sat up straight away when he saw you, his mouth open in disbelief. There was no way. Absolutely no way. Mikey!? Mikey is seeing a girl? No, he was playing tricks on them. It couldn’t be true. But then, right in front of them, you pulled Mikey in for a close hug, before placing a sweet peck on his lips with a happy smile. This was enough to cause a reaction from all three boys.
“Mikey?!”, they yelled, causing the two young lovers to jump in surprise and stare up towards the opposite roof, seeing all of Mikey’s brothers in all different phases of disbelief. You, however, didn’t seem too shocked by this, smiling still with your arms wrapped around Mikey.
“I guess those are your brothers”, you smiled, nodding towards the three shocked turtles, staring like she just grew an extra head right in front of them.
“I knew this day would come sooner or later”, Mikey sighed, trying to suppress a small smile. He had actually been excited for the day he would be able to show you off to his family. “Guys”, Mikey called out, making sure his brothers were listening. “This is (Y/N), my girlfriend. (Y/N), these are my brothers”.
It took Mikey’s brothers a few days to get over that one.

I just read almost all your turtle relates work and i loved It! I was wondering how the brothers worked out having a poly relationship with the reader, the dynamics, what they think/feel about It, etc.
It can be headcanons or one shot, don't really mind, I just adore your work with them 👀
Thank you so much for your amazing storys💫
Thank you for the ask Nonnie!
I want to precede this by saying I don’t really have serious thoughts about how a poly relationship with all four brothers would work. I just started writing without worrying about the logistics of it, but I do keep some things in mind so it doesn’t turn into a Marty Robbin’s song.
So I went with head canon style observations and then added a little blurb that just hasn’t really fit in any one-shots I’ve written so far, but seemed appropriate in this context. I hope you enjoy!
Bayverse turtles x GNreader
Jealousy goes out the window. Who she? Oh, we don't know her. Brotherly squabbles still exist, but you are never the direct reason for the issues.
This relationship was definitely a slow burn, friends to lovers, where the lines blurred as love grew.
Mikey was probably the first one to start testing the friendship/boyfriend lines. His brand of flirting and physical affection makes him a prime suspect to see how far he could push and what exactly you would be comfortable with.
Donnie seems like the next likely culprit, certainly if he saw how openly you gave affection to his brother he might realize "hey, I'd like some of that", and proceed to tell you what he wanted next time the two of you were alone.
With the older brothers, it would definitely be Leo that has the next epiphany. With his love of listening, he'd probably get you talking and then slowly start scooting closer and closer, on the look out for any signals that you were happy with just two turtles' attentions. Finding none, you'd end up with a cuddle buddy anytime the two of you have a talk.
And Raph? he'd be the last, and he'd just show up with the others on one of the planned hangouts, hesitant and unsure but following their lead. Better not mention the red elephant in the room, or else he's likely to just turn into a roly-poly and scuttle away in fear of overstepping and ruining whatever friendship the two of you have and the luck his brothers stumbled onto. Just keep acting like everything is normal, and he'll bloom.
there's no hierarchy, other than brotherly ones that existed long before you. If someone wants/needs more time/affection, they simply ask for it. If you need time alone, you might have to lock a door or hang up a sign so everyone gets the message it doesn't turn into a revolving door of turtles checking in on you.
Date nights can be with one, two, or all four turtles. Only once was there a date planned while Donnie was shell deep in a project, and it was the one date that everyone agrees was a failure. After that debacle, Donnie gets dragged out of his proverbial dungeon anytime a 'four turtle date' is planned. While the brothers do plan one-on-one time with you, if you guys are hanging out in the lair chances are everyone will gravitate towards the commotion.
Sleep overs are probably the only time things can get complicated. You of course have the option to hole up in the guest room, and there's always sleep piles in the living area that happen often enough that Donnie went ahead and ordered extra mattresses to avoid the fuss of everyone having to drag half their bedrooms out into the Lair proper over and over, but sometimes you just want one snuggle buddy and you end up in one brother's room. It's the one time they'll get territorial over you, and it's an unspoken rule that if someone follows their nose to find you and ends up outside a personal space, they turn around and seek you out another time. It's the one rule not even Michelangelo tries to bend.
Turtle Pile
You woke up in the odd hours of the morning, the need to pee cutting into the bone deep contentment that had settled under your skin. You shifted, slowly, taking stock of where you were and how much wiggle room your turtles had allowed.
The lip of Raph's shell was a solid barrier over the edge of your hip and the line of one leg. He liked to have you up against him while he slept, the better to shield you in case something went wrong. He was laying the opposite direction of you, shoulder to shoulder with Leo, who had half draped himself over your lap and legs.
Leo's head was still tilted into the soft meat of your thigh where he'd been lulled to sleep mid conversation, breath slow and even, muscles twitching even in sleep.
Mikey had taken up your other side, arm snaked over your waist and leg hitched over what you were sure was suppose to be your closest hip, except Leo's shell was in the way. His face was propped close to yours, soft snores adorable, not quite as elevated as you were, and with no pillow to really protect his neck from Donnie's shell.
You were using the tallest brother as a pillow, as he laid out on his plastron, pining his legs and using the slope of his carapace as a make shift recliner. The reason you'd given him was to keep you safe in case someone shifted too much in their sleep, but the true intent was to keep him from sneaking back into his lab and half finished projects.
It was comfortable, safe, and warm, but the pressure in your bladder pinged again. With a soft sigh, you removed Mikey's arm and stretched, slinking up Donnie's shell to slide your legs out from under Leo.
His grip tightened, one sleepy blue eye opening to check on you. "What's wrong?"
It as more a rumble than words, but you understood , and whispered back, "nothing's wrong, just have to go pee."
He hummed, the sound low and familiar, and released you. "Climb back this way, you'll wake Dee."
"I've been awake, "came Donnie's clear, quiet voice.
You rolled your eyes, bracing a hand on one of the massive scutes on Raph's carapace and stepping over Leo's shoulder. "Make sure my pillow doesn't run off, Blue."
Leo gave a bare huff of sound, and you heard Donnie give an exasperated click in the back of his throat as Leo grabbed his brother's legs. "Yes, ma'am."
"Could be doing so much work right now." You heard Donnie grumble as you finished breaking free.
Your bare feet padded across the cool floor to the bathroom, soft steps not loud enough to mask Raph's equally irritated grouse:
"You'll have all weekend to work, nerd, now shuttup and sleep."
The door was just sliding shut when you heard Mikey's voice, the loud whisper practically a yell in the otherwise quiet space:
"Hey, where'd angel go?"
Followed by three sighs of various annoyance at the loud noise.

Baby Blue (Chapter 1)
Rise of the TMNT Leonardo/Yuichi Usagi Chapter 1 of a longer fic THIS IS PART OF A SERIES - might be confusing to read without context
AO3
---
When Usagi sees him for the first time that day, Leo's sweaty, covered in oil and grease, and his knees still ache from crouching down.
If Leo had a choice, he would've chosen any other circumstance; preferably one where he didn't have to worry about how he smells.
But he was the one who offered to help Donnie in the workshop, so blaming that on anyone but himself is a lot more difficult than usual. Which doesn't mean he's not trying, of course.
Donnie, on a principle, didn't let almost anyone near his baby, let alone one of his rather destructive brothers, so only a fool wouldn't take advantage of such a rare opportunity. A fool, and apparently: Mikey and Raph, who, from experience or intuition, already guessed what 'helping' looked like in Donnie's eyes.
“This is child exploitation,” Leo complains, rubbing his stiff hands together.
His fingers tingle from handling all kinds of metal, paint, and other things he's not even sure how to call.
Leo is strong, like all of his brothers, but without adrenaline pumping through his veins, something that always accompanied a fight or even (occasionally) training, he can feel each hour taking its toll on his muscles.
“If you don't shut up, I'll show you real exploitation.”
Donnie doesn't even spare him a glance, mostly because he's still lying under the hood of the tank, elbow deep in its belly.
He's wearing a completely new shell; less durable than the previous ones, as anyone who's had the chance to exchange even a single word with him in the past few weeks would know.
Leo knows that Donnie doesn't like to compromise on his inventions, especially not the ones he holds so dear. But sacrificing the shell's previous primary function for a much lighter structure and a soft center that didn't weigh down the fresh scars seemed not so much preferable but necessary.
But Leo knows him too well to not see through the mask of an unfulfilled engineer.
It's only been three months since they saw Shredder for the first, and hopefully last, time. The wounds on Donnie's back have grown new skin, pink at first and so delicate that something in Leo clenched nervously every time his brother leaned over, like the bonds holding them together were about to snap at any moment.
Now they're pale and rough and seem to irritate Donnie less, at least judging by the fact that he no longer sits on the couch with his spine perfectly straight.
But Leo knows that there are other scars left on him; ones that can't be protected by a layer of metal and fabric.
Donnie is nervous, twitchy, like all of them now. But he stands with his back to the walls now, looking over his shoulder. He doesn't like open spaces, hunching his shoulders and tightening his fingers around his staff.
There are dark circles under his eyes.
And Leo has always been able to see right through him.
So nowadays, he spends a surprising amount of time standing right behind his brother, watching his back.
(He spends a lot of time making sure Donnie isn't alone.)
“Pass me that screwdriver,” Donnie says after a moment of silence, holding out one hand and flexing his fingers. Leo reaches for the tools carelessly scattered to the side before his brother adds: “Not that one, the other one.”
“You don't even know which one I was holding,” Leo mutters under his breath, but agreeably places the appropriate tool in his hand.
“I sensed your bad vibe,” Donnie says, probably only half joking.
Leo stands up, rolling his eyes. He stretches his numb limbs, resting his shoulder against the cold metal of the machine. But then he steps back a little, remembering the oil he'd managed to somehow get all over his arms.
Donnie's baby – affectionately named 'Turtle Tank', is the apple of his brother's eye, and the object of Leo's endless jealousy.
He suspected that even if the tank somehow passed all traffic inspections and regulations – Raph would've sooner glued him to the passenger seat than let him drive it on his own.
Donnie was clearly never going to receive the same treatment, which Leo considered both unfair and perfectly understandable. He himself would never want to stand between his brother and his one true love.
For now – he'll have to settle for a passenger-row view.
“You know,” Leo begins, feigning indifference, like he hadn't been waiting to breach the subject since morning. “April told me you went to school with her again.”
Seeing a human school wasn't so much a dream of Donnie's, as much as it was a checkmark on his 'so bad I have to see it' list.
April said 'sure', clearly amused and intrigued in equal measure, like she could sense a car crash approaching and could no longer look away.
Raph said it was the stupidest idea he's ever had, and it seemed to scare him almost as much as the following demonstration of Donnie's cloaking brooch.
Leo said it was the funniest thing that's happened in a while, and included a few quips about his brother's taste in fashion (though that was mostly to dispel something growing uneasy in his chest every time he looked at his very familiar, but very human face).
Mikey only said to bring him back a 'souvenir', though he hadn't specified what kind (perhaps that was why Donnie returned that afternoon with a stolen extension cord).
Draxum hadn't said anything, because he wasn't there and no one told him.
“Mhm,” Donnie mumbles under his breath as he works.
“That's the fourth time,” Leo notes.
“Mhm,” Donnie repeats, this time with palpable suspicion. “I like spending time with April.”
A warm feeling settles in Leo's chest, right before he quickly squashes it down, knowing his brother too well to fall for his half-truths.
“Ah, yes.” He puts up his hands, cupping them by his cheek, raising his voice to a near squeak. “I’m Donnie and I love spending time with my friends!” He lowers his hands, resting them on his hips. “Admit it, you’re just a nerd who likes school.”
“I don’t like school.” Donnie finally pulls himself out from under the machine, gracing Leo with a look. “Neither does my father, which is why I never went to one.”
Leo leans in, tilting his head a little.
“You’re a nerd.”
“You’re a moron.”
“Home-schooled freak.”
“You can barely count.”
Leo opens his mouth but doesn’t finish, cutting himself off in mid-sentence at the sudden creaking of the door. Leo turns around even before he hears a familiar voice.
“Hey, guys,” Usagi says, almost melodically, quickly slipping into the garage.
Leo glances at him. Then blinks, looking him over once more.
Usagi is wearing his work uniform. Or at least – most of it.
His pants are a little dusted with something that might be flour, but he’s thrown off his white shirt, unceremoniously tying it around his waist. It leaves him in a tank top, which Leo notices immediately, to his own embarrassment.
Leo watches him only for a moment, before promptly turning his gaze away, fixing it onto the floor.
Which is a shame, because Usagi is ridiculously nice to look at – in the most objective way.
He's round with fur around the edges but lean and sturdy, with arm muscles tightening when he crosses them over his chest. His smile creases the corners of his eyes, the red half-moons around them.
Usagi leans his hip on a desk, and Leo spots a new expression on his face with a corner of his eye. Like he knows Leo's putting a lot of effort into looking anywhere but at him.
“Aren't you supposed to be at work?” Donnie hums, his tone suggesting that his excitement at seeing his friend is entirely dependent on the circumstances surrounding his presence.
“I'm on a break,” Usagi announces. “I thought I'd check in on you.”
“Mhm. And how is that going for you?”
Donnie, having clearly reassessed his priorities, once again slides under the tank.
“You look like shit,” Usagi states.
His voice still has the same, joking tone.
In the moments where Leo has avoided his gaze, Usagi managed to pull out his yo-yo, lazily twirling the string between his fingers.
“Thanks for the feedback,” Donnie says in his usual, neutral tone.
Usagi laughs, short and loud, like he's doing it for both of them.
Leo steals a glance at him, and quickly realizes that in the time he was putting all of his attention into the flood and walls – Usagi has been looking at him.
Their gazes meet, and Usagi narrows his eyes, like he's trying not to smile even wider.
“Hey,” he says.
He moves his hand, as if trying to lift it, clearly forgetting about the yo-yo still wrapped around it. He untangles his fingers, finally lifting his palm in a slightly awkward gesture, pushing his ears off his shoulder.
“Hi,” Leo replies, a little breathless.
Usagi opens his mouth, like he's planning to say something more, but stops, interrupted by the loudest, squeakiest ringtone Leo has ever heard.
He raises his hands, reflexively covering the sides of his head. Even when he can't see Donnie, he knows he's doing the same.
“Why the fuck is it so loud?” Leo says, raising his voice above the incredibly distorted vocals of Britney Spears.
Usagi, finally untangling his fingers enough to pull his phone out of his pants pocket, glares at him a little.
“It gets loud around here during rush hour,” he says in his defense, flipping open the phone. “Hello?”
In one moment: Leo learns two new things.
How quickly the smile can fade from Usagi's face: something he previously thought downright impossible, and honestly – rather upsetting. And that, apparently: his friend speaks more than one language.
It takes him a moment to recognize Usagi's harsh, clearly irritated tone as Japanese; mostly because he's never heard him sound this cold, no matter the language.
Leo watches with a new kind of slightly concerned attention as Usagi crosses his arms over his chest, nervously tapping his foot.
Donnie, seemingly lured from his hiding place, rests his hands on the floor, his head on the metal next to Leo.
“Do you understand what they're talking about?” Leo asks, his voice lowered.
Donnie reaches out, waving it in the universal gesture of 'so-so'. Then, an almost painful grimace breaks across his face.
“But I don't think you want to know.”
It's a nothing answer, but before Leo has a chance to protest, Usagi closes the phone with a sudden snap of plastic.
“Sorry.” He sighs quietly, relaxing his shoulders a bit. “I have to go. The tokage got to the trash again, and I'm the only one they don't bite.”
“Why?” Leo asks, mostly out of reflex.
“I feed them, sometimes.” Usagi replies. But then he freezes, his ears perking up stiffly. “Uh-um. Do you think that’s why they keep coming back?” He looks away, biting his nails in a new wave of panic.
The next moment he’s standing in the doorway, pushing it open with the necessary force. He doesn’t say anything more, but Leo still receives a crooked smile in response to his: “Well, see you later?”, which he can only consider a success.
When the door closes again with a quiet creak, Leo glances at his brother, but Donnie speaks before he has a chance to.
“What’s going on between you two?” He asks, so suddenly that Leo straightens a bit, thrown for a loop.
“Between who?” He asks, stupidly.
Donnie sighs quietly. He reaches for a rag, previously thrown to the side, wiping the oil from his hands.
“Between you and Usagi,” he clarifies.
He doesn't look at Leo.
Which could mean nothing, because his brother never seemed to fully master the intricate art of proper eye contact, and Leo never had any trouble finding true emotions beneath his relative indifference.
But it could also mean something more, something like disapproval or confusion, and Leo's newly clenched stomach seems much more inclined to that scenario.
Leo curls in on himself a little, folding his arms around his torso, gripping the edges of his shell.
“What's that supposed to mean?” He replies evasively.
Donnie frowns, huffing quietly as the oil stubbornly sticks to the inside of his claws. He stands with a slight grimace, walking over to the sink in the corner of the room.
“That's what I'm asking, isn't it?” Donnie raises an eyebrow. Then: “Are you two, like, going out?”
“What?” Leo sits up, so abruptly that he almost chokes down on his own tongue. “Why?”
Donnie glances over his shoulder, sliding his hands under the cold stream of water, and their eyes finally meet.
“Are you asking me why you're dating, or...?” He frowns, like he's not entirely sure who's the problem in this conversation: him or Leo.
“No.” Leo stands, mostly to keep on the same level with his brother. “Why do you think that?”
For one unwavering moment, Donnie just looks at him in silence.
He turns away, wiping his hands on a towel with insufferable casualness, leaning his back against the sink.
In the meantime, one of Leo's hearts manages to circle his entire body – from his throat to the very bottom of his chest.
He knows Donnie must feel how hard it's beating. He hates that fact more than ever.
“Nardo.”
Donnie's voice softens unexpectedly, taking on the same tone he sometimes uses when he tries to sound comforting. Which means that he usually ends up somewhere between patronizing and like he's talking to startled cattle.
“I’m not stupid,” he continues anyway. “Or blind.”
Leo presses his lips together.
He looks away, crosses his arms over his chest, then lets them fall again, sighing quietly.
He knows Donnie isn’t. None of his brothers are.
He knows that it was only a matter of time before they brought up what they had been half-jokingly dismissing and plainly ignoring until now.
But this – stating it like it's so clear, so obvious, so blunt, makes something in his chest tighten painfully, his fingers twitch nervously.
He thinks he’s just embarrassed.
(He thinks that some part of him never stopped fearing the rejection that was never meant to come.)
Donnie raises his hand, adjusting his headscarf. He managed to get some oil on it earlier.
He sighs quietly, lowering his arms. He steps closer to the tank, resting his shoulder against the cold metal.
“Listen, Nardo.” He shoves his hands into the pockets of his pants, like he's not quite sure what to do with his own body. “I'll be straight with you.”
“Uhm, I don't know if that's the right word for this occasion,” Leo says, more out of habit than anything else.
He immediately winces, looking away.
“Okay?” Donnie frowns. Then, a slightly more serious expression returns to his face, which in his case can be associated with an exceptionally wide range of emotions. “Listen. Usagi is a bit of a...”
He makes a vague gesture with his hand.
Leo thinks he can guess what Usagi is, but listens anyway.
“Lovebug,” Donnie finishes. He crosses his arms over his chest, shrugging. “But he's been pretty set on you for a while now.”
“Wow,” Leo says, dryly, before the real meaning of the statement sinks in. “Oh.”
Donnie reaches out a hand, resting it on his shoulder.
“He likes you.” Then, his face hardens, and the hold on his shoulder tightens almost painfully. “So don't fuck it up. And don't play with his feelings, I don't want any broken hearts. That would be so fucking awkward.”
Leo shrugs, pushing his hand away.
The old, familiar embarrassment still builds up in his chest, but the sudden defensiveness quickly squashes it down.
“You know I'm not like that,” Leo bites, a little more honestly than he planned, giving way to actual hurt.
Donnie clicks his tongue, but something on his face softens.
“I know. Which is why this is a warning, not a promise.”
“Are you giving me the shovel talk?” Leo snorts, somewhat reassured by the change in tone.
Despite everything, something in his chest beats harder, warmer at the thought that this is the closest to sincere support he could expect from his brother in this scenario.
He thinks Donnie feels it too, because when he speaks again, he does so almost lovingly.
“I wish I had a shovel every time I see you two together, so I could smack you over the head with it.” With a quiet sigh, he sits down again, resting his shell on the floor to look under the tank again. “Now, hand me the screwdriver.”
And before Leo has a chance to even crouch down, he adds:
“Not this one, the other one.”

Chapter Seven of I'm Sorry, Teenage Mutant What Now? is out! Just normal teenage boys doing normal teenage things. :) Read it on ao3 or below the cut.
[ prev ]
It had been three days now since they last saw their dad.
On the first night, over and over, everyone kept saying, ‘I’m sure he’ll be home any minute. He’s more than capable of defending himself. He wouldn’t just disappear. Any second now,’ and the only reason that Mikey had been able to get himself to sleep that night was because he thought that maybe when he woke up again, Dad would be back. He wanted to just skip forward to the good part. But then when he woke up, the good part wasn’t there.
The following morning, Mrs. O’Neil was in the kitchen making breakfast, with the blankets all folded up neat on the couch as if she hadn’t slept there that night. April helped set the table, as if this were normal, as if she hadn’t slept on a bean bag in the Lair, as if they were meant to be here and it made sense for them to be carefully preparing for a big pancake breakfast instead of wolfing down bagels and granola bars in a chaotic frenzy, attempting to make it out the door on time.
It wasn’t like Mikey didn’t appreciate it. He did. It was nice, the gentle looks, the backrubs, the hugs… But it felt weird. Alien, almost. And yet, even with things being so starkly different, even with the five of them staying home from school, staying home from activities, in this absolute jarring contrast to their normal routine, at the same time, there were still these moments that felt so… untouched. Leo and April made bad puns when the opportunity arose like they always did. Raph physically picked up and moved them when they were in his way or getting on his nerves, like usual. Donnie took the time to check up on all of his houseplants, watering anyone who needed it. Some memes were sent to the group chat. Leo and Raph got in a fight over the last raspberry popsicle in the freezer.
There were moments where Mikey could almost look around and pretend like everything was normal. Dad just wasn’t home right now, and that was all. There were all these beats and steps that just weren’t colored by this horrible thing at all, in this weird way that Mikey wasn’t expecting.
But just on the surface level.
Because no. Dad isn’t just out getting groceries or meeting with an agent or picking up takeout. Dad isn’t here. And they don’t know where he is.
They had already discovered, on that very first night, that Dad’s cell phone was left in his bedroom. They had obviously all tried texting and calling him about eighty times each, with no response, and eventually found the phone, plugged into its charger on his nightstand. They tried guessing the passcode, but none of them knew it, so they had all looked at Donnie. They said that they would figure it out and pocketed the device. And aside from coming down to care for their plants and grab some banana pancakes, they hadn’t been down from their room since.
They spent most of the first day making calls. They contacted everyone that they could think of. Dad’s agent, his lawyers, any friends or acquaintances he knew. They called each and every one of his dojo locations. Anyone whose number they could find who they had ever known to speak with Dad, they contacted, asking them if they had seen him, heard from him, had anyone idea who the masked guy could be? And over and over they heard, no, sorry. We haven’t seen him. We haven’t heard from him. We don’t know anything about this stranger. We’ll keep an eye out and let you know right away if anything changes. Dead end. Dead end. Dead end.
They texted people, they sent emails, they combed the internet for anything that might be helpful, but they didn’t find anything. The whole group, Mrs. O’Neil and even Donnie included (Mrs. O’Neil, I mean, Carol, made them come. Mikey thought that it was probably because they were nervous about anyone being alone after… you know,) took multiple walks around the neighborhood, the neighborhood next over, and the neighborhood next over to that, looking for any sign of their father.
On the second day, Mikey made posters, and they started hanging those up when they did their walks. Word was starting to spread, and Mikey kept getting texts on his phone-- friends from school, friends from dance, friends from sports, friends of friends… At first, Mikey would reply to all of them. Would say, oh, thank you so much for reaching out, we really appreciate it, please, if you see him at all, let us know… But that rapidly became exhausting. After the first ten, Mikey took to just copy-and-pasting the same message asking them to look, along with an image of the poster he had made. And even just that was exhausting. What was he supposed to say? ‘Everything is horrible and I have no idea how I’m feeling right now, I’m just overwhelmed and terrified-- thanks tho, melting face emoji?’
Donnie got into Dad’s phone but didn’t find anything useful. They sent out emails and texts to every contact he had saved, even though they didn’t recognize half of them, and posted on every social media that he had. All four of them posted on their social media, too. Mikey made a TikTok video reaching out to 350k of his followers. He kept all his notifications on, hoping and waiting that someone would message him telling him that they had seen him and he was okay… but it didn’t come. There was a flood of empathetic comments, of thoughts and prayers, of heart emojis. But nothing that would help them. He and his brothers posted on every Lou Jitsu fan forum that they could find, but they got much of the same there, too.
And now it had been three days. Three days was a long, long time. Ever since that first night, Mikey couldn’t really sleep. He knew his siblings couldn’t, either, and he anxiously fussed over them whenever he could, trying to encourage them to get some rest. Especially Leo. He hardly ever slept even on a good day-- now he kind of just seemed more and more like a wreck as time passed. All of them did.
It was on the third day that Mrs. O'Neil got a phone call. Well-- she had been on the phone on-and-off ever since she got here that first night, making calls and taking them, even more than they had. But this phone call, in particular, went a little like this:
"Hello?"
"Yes, this is she,"
"What?"
"No, I'm sorry,"
"No."
"Yes, I'm absolutely certain. No. No, we're not accepting any interview requests right now. I'm not sure you do understand. With all due respect, I'm not putting any of these kids on TV right now. Yes, I'm quite sure."
"Yes."
"You have a great day, too. Goodbye."
Mikey knew that all four of his siblings were listening, but Leo was the first one to speak once Carol hung up the phone.
"Who was that?"
"A reporter," Carol sighed in response. They had barely exchanged five words and she already seemed exhausted with this conversation.
"What did they want?"
Carol pursed her lips. "They were asking about doing a live interview or bringing you guys on their talk show. I told them we weren't interested."
"Why would you tell them that?"
"Because we're not."
"Uhm. Maybe you're not," Leo corrected, his brows furrowing. "Why the hell can't I do an interview? I can do interviews! I've done interviews before! I'm great at interviews."
"It's not a good idea, Leo," Carol said, putting her phone down, turning her attention back to her laptop in front of her, beginning to type again. Oof. That was gonna piss Leo off.
"Why not?!" Leo demanded, growing pissed off. "I've done interviews before! I've done live shows! I could totally handle this! Besides, we're trying to get the word out to as many people as possible. What if someone saw the interview and knew where Dad was? This could help!"
"This isn't up for debate, Leo. I'm not putting any of you kids on a talk show right now."
"Why is it your decision!? I'm the one who would be on the show! Why don't I get to decide?"
"Because I'm the adult," Carol was just a step away from snapping, but her voice was hard, definitive. "I just said this isn't up for debate. I'm sorry, but it's off the table. It's not a good idea."
Mikey looked nervously at his brother, wondering if he should say something. Raph looked like he was about to, but Leo huffed, rolling his eyes and getting to his feet. "Fine," he hissed in reply, promptly moving to the front door and beginning to put on his shoes.
"Where are you going?" Carol questioned, frowning a bit.
"Gymnastics."
"Leo--"
"I'm sick of sitting around here not doing anything! It's driving me crazy. We have gymnastics practice right now. I'm going to gymnastics. Mikey, are you coming?"
Mikey jumped when eyes shifted to him, floundering for a second. If he was being totally honest, he wasn't exactly in a gymnastics mood, but... he knew that Mrs. O'Neil wasn't gonna let Leo go by himself. And there was no way he was gonna convince Donnie to even leave his room, let alone go to gymnastics practice. Maybe... it would be good? Get his mind off of things?
"Yeah. Uh. I'll come. Let me grab my stuff. Hang on," he said, jumping to his feet and scampering off to grab their gymnastics bags-- packed and ready to go in the hallway, like they always were, like they didn't know anything was wrong.
"Leo, I don't know if this is--"
"I'm not going alone, Mikey is with me. There's gonna be adults there. We'll get a taxi cab home when it gets dark. I'm not gonna sit here twiddling my thumbs anymore. I'm gonna go insane." Leo spoke over her, and Mikey thought privately to himself that that was rather ballsy. Leo must really be upset because usually none of them would dare interrupt Mrs. O'Neil. He hurried to get his shoes on, hoping that they could escape before things got too heated. Sorry April, sorry Raph.
"Ready, Mikey?"
"Yeah… yeah, I'm ready. Let's go."
---
April was trying really hard to be patient with her brothers right now, 'cause she knew that they were having a hard time. I mean, if either of her parents went missing, she'd probably be behaving less than her best, too. Raph was clingier than ever, and April had had to talk him off the metaphorical ledge about five times now, Donnie had turned into a total hermit, even by Donnie standards, Leo was honestly being kind of a brat, and Mikey was...
Ugh. God. Mikey. He was such a sweetheart. He was killing himself, April could tell. Even more than she was killing herself right now. She would have to corner him later. Right after she cornered Leo.
And kicked his ass.
Look, she got where he was coming from, but did he really need to tick her mom off like that!? And then leave her to deal with it?! She knew her mom was mostly just worried, (and, okay, maybe also kind of peeved, but April could only kind of blame her,) but that didn't make it any more pleasant. And once she managed to settle her down, she had to deal with Raph, too.
If her mom was freaked out, then Raph was about ready to lose his mind. April half thought he was gonna take off after Leo and Mikey on foot any second now. April sank into the couch next to him, bodily draping herself over his lap to make sure he didn't go anywhere.
"Hey Big Guy," she said, blinking up at him, forcing a half-hearted smile. "How you holding up?"
"Me?" Raph said, just barely glancing down at her before his eyes snapped away again, anxious and flighty. "I'm fine. Raph's fine. How are you holding up?"
God, they were all so predictable. April privately thought that self-sacrifice must be a Hamato tradition. It was simply a question of which one of them could outdo the rest.
"You're a bad liar. You're as bad as Mikey. As bad as Donnie."
"What?!" Raph squawked in protest. "I am not as bad as Donnie! No one's as bad as Donnie!"
"Okay, well, maybe not that bad," April relented. "Leo and Mikey are gonna be fine. They're taking the subway in broad daylight. They're only gonna be, like, ten minutes away. They both had their phones and they already said they'll take a taxi cab home. It's okay."
"I know," Raph said, wrinkling up his nose. "It's just-- I mean. What if somethin' bad happens to 'em? And I'm not there to help?"
"You know it's not your fault, right?"
There was a telling silence.
"Raph. It's not your job to protect your Dad from creepy stalker fans. And you couldn't have done anything."
"I know," Raph relented, frowning a little. And it wasn't that April didn't believe him, but... There was a difference between knowing and knowing. April knew that perfectly well. Raph might be the biggest brother, but she was the biggest sister, and... okay, she wasn't gonna sit here and delude herself into thinking that she could have physically stopped that guy if she had just moved a little faster. She wasn't a martial arts champion like the rest of them, (even if she did have a mean left hook and an even meaner softball swing.) But she hated... watching them fall apart. She hated watching all of them shrivel up under the stress. She hated that she couldn't fix this for them... Or at least make it a little easier.
And she was worried too. Mr. Hamato might not be her dad, exactly, but... this was her family, too. She had known Yoshi since she was five! She used to spend every afternoon after school at their house, and they would spend the weekends at hers. She couldn't even count how many slumber parties and sleepovers they had had over the years. Raph, Donnie, Leo, and Mikey were like her brothers, and Yoshi was, like... her weird uncle or something.
She really hoped he was okay. And that he'd be back soon.
"Nothing bad is gonna happen. They'll go to gymnastics, they'll blow off some steam, they'll come home, and maybe Leo will be less of a headache for the rest of the evening." She said with a sigh. "Maybe he's got a point! You guys aren't used to being cooped up for so long."
"I guess," Raph said, seeming unconvinced, though he leaned back a little into the cushions, slumping a bit. April would take even the littlest victory.
"You could probably use a distraction too."
"Mmm..."
"Sooo... You could paint my nails for me? I'll paint yours back." She offered, raising a brow. He had to take the bait here. This always worked. The boys loved getting their nails painted. Especially Raph, since he was so bad at doing his own. He was okay if he was working on someone else, but if it was a solo project, that right hand just never quite turned out right.
It took a moment, and for a moment April thought he might actually turn her down, but eventually, he sighed and relented. "Okay, fine," he agreed. "But Raph gets to pick the colors this time."
Thank god for small miracles. He could pick whatever color he wanted.
---
Mikey had never noticed how loud the gym was before.
Usually, it didn't bother him. But today? It was just... so much noise. Every thump of a landed flip echoing through the padded floor, reverberating, every shout, every stomp, every clap of chalk on hands... It seemed to travel right through his bones.
He was waiting for it to wear off.
Their instructor had seemed... surprised to see them, especially since they had gotten there a half-hour late, but hadn't protested or turned them away, much to Mikey's relief. Well, initially it had been relief, but now he wasn't so sure. Usually, he adored gymnastics. It was easily one of his favorite hobbies, (tied between ballet, painting, cooking, yoga, hip-hop, and skateboarding,) but there was something... off today. Every movement seemed just a beat behind reality, as if he himself were lagging somehow, like the connection was slow. His head felt fuzzy.
Every second they were here felt so odd. Everyone was just... working. Doing gymnastics. Practicing back-flips and floor routines. Mikey wanted to scream at everyone. How could they all just act like this when their dad was missing? How could they pretend like things were okay and just keep moving through life? Every person they passed on the walk here, every passenger on the subway, the receptionist at the front desk, he wanted to grab them by the front of their shirts and wail to them and explain everything.
How could people just live? How could so many people just not know that their dad was gone and might not ever come back?
Mikey had been working on his high bar routine for almost forty minutes now, and he still wasn't getting it right. Usually, this was easy. It wasn't even that hard of a routine, not compared to some of the other things he had done before. But every single time he made another go at it, he missed a beat or moved the wrong way, his brain blanking out on the next step, and he'd have to start over again, gritting his teeth and telling himself he'd get it right this time. The chalk on his hands itched. He was forming a blister. Blisters had never bothered him before.
His coach was being so patient. So sweet, repeatedly telling him it was okay, he could just try again, but it wasn't okay. He wanted to yell at her, too, that they both knew he could do better than this. But he didn't. He just thanked her and nodded his head and kept going.
Leo was over at the vault. He could see him from here. From what he could see, he was doing fine. He wasn't missing any turns or freezing up or losing his balance. He was doing great. His routine looked perfect. Why was he doing so perfect? What was wrong with him? If the problem wasn't Dad, if it wasn't affecting Leo, then it had to be--
Mikey's hand missed the bar. He never missed the bar. He didn't swing far enough and his hand didn't make contact.
He missed. He fell.
He never fell.
It didn't hurt. They had all this matting for a reason-- for exactly this reason, in fact. There wasn't even any heavy thud of contact, no wind got knocked out of him, he just flopped sadly down on his back on the padding, bouncing a tiny bit, staring up at the bars above him.
He fell down. He never fell down. He missed. He never missed the bars.
He knew he needed to get up. He should try again. If he didn't move, people would worry, or think he was hurt or something. But every time he told himself to sit up, his body didn't quite listen.
After a few minutes of staring at the ceiling, his older brother's face came into view. He had been expecting a coach. He wasn't sure if Leo was better or worse.
"Well that wasn't very razzmatazz," Leo remarked with a grin, leaning over and offering a hand to the other. "Here, c'mon. I'll help you up."
Mikey sniffled a tiny bit. His body didn't listen when he told it to grab Leo's hand, either.
"I wanna go home," he finally got his mouth to move.
"What?" Leo immediately protested. "Oh, come on, little brother, we just got here. We've still got two hours left of gym time! You love gymnastics. You're not gonna let one little fall get to you, are ya?"
"I wanna go home," Mikey repeated, because he didn't know what else to say. His voice sounded horrible. What was the matter with him? This wasn’t even what he wanted to be saying. He didn't want to talk to Leo like this. He did love gymnastics. This wasn't him! He didn't act this way. Why was he acting this way? He blinked rapidly, hoping that it would help somehow.
He didn't want to look at Leo anymore, so he didn't. But he heard him sigh. He felt the gym mat shift as Leo slowly moved to lay down next to him, until both of them were staring up at the ceiling like silly little animals stuck on their backs, unable to flip back over.
Like...
I dunno, like beetles or something.
"We can go home if you want to, Mikey," Leo said, and Mikey hiccuped softly, wrinkling up his nose.
"Sorry," he bit out. "... We c-can stay if you want. I can stay."
"Nah. It's fine. We should go home," Leo repeated, finding Mikey’s hand and squeezing it shortly. "Sorry. For dragging you out."
Mikey shook his head, sniffling a bit. Ugh, crying on your back sucked. His nose was all full of gunk.
"I like gymnastics," he said weakly, and Leo laughed.
"Yeah, I know. That's 'cause you're really good at it."
Mikey nodded kind of numbly, crossing his arms over his chest, clinging to himself slightly.
"Everyone is acting like nothing's wrong," Mikey whispered.
"Yeah," Leo sighed through his nose. "It's weird, right? I keep seeing people on the street and being like... Oh my god. They don't even know. They have no idea. And, like, I don't even know what's going on with them, either. Like. You know that lady we sat next to on the subway? I kept thinking, I dunno, maybe her dad went missing once, too, and we don't even know. How much shit do we just not know?"
"Leo, what if he doesn't come back?"
It wasn't like Leo was bad at hugs. It's just that he wasn't as good at hugs as everyone else. There was a very clear ranking, and yes, Mikey did keep track, like a reasonable person. At the very top of the ranking, obviously, was Raph. Raph gave the best hugs-- He scooped you up and swung you around and you got all squished and squeezed in the best way possible. Absolutely top-tier. Second best hugs were Dad, because, well, they were Dad Hugs. Dad Hugs had a special quality to them. He really didn't think he had to explain himself any further. Next up was Donnie, not necessarily because Donnie was good at hugging or anything, but just because he was so rarely down for hugs that every time he got one it was special. It felt like he was winning something-- especially since he got Donnie hugs more than anyone else in the family. April hugs were next, because while she gave really good hugs, and she always let him cling to her for as long as he wanted, her glasses could be a bit pokey at times. And then Leo brought in the rear-- not because he was bad at them, but just because the competition was so stiff.
But this was a really, really good hug. Two really's.
The absolute second Leo had him wrapped up in his arms, Mikey just dissolved into sobs, before he even had a proper chance to try not to. He was just so tired of feeling scared like this. If Dad wasn't going to come back, could they just know already?! He hated waiting. He hated not knowing! He just wanted to tear the band-aid off so that he could mourn and then get better. This was worse than their Dad being dead, he thought to himself. He almost wished that he was just dead, and that this could at least be over. Wasn't that horrible...? How could he feel that way?
He was pretty sure Leo was crying, too, but he couldn't really tell for sure. He was clinging way too tight to see anything.
"It'll be alright, Mikey." Leo's voice was muffled, but he could hear him all the same. "We'll be okay. Dad would never stay away from us on purpose. We'll figure it out."
---
They had been getting a lot of takeout since Dad went missing. No one really felt like cooking-- not even Mikey, and Leo couldn't even blame him. He wouldn't wanna cook, either. He barely even wanted to eat. And there was pizza in front of him. That was a big deal.
This was their third Jupiter Jim movie marathon night in a row, but Leo wasn't the least bit excited. He was trying hard to pretend like he cared about which title they put on, to keep up with all the running jokes they had, to pay attention, but his heart wasn't in it. No one else's was, either, he knew. They hadn't even been able to convince Donnie to come out of his room and join them since the first night, much to his frustration.
It was all just distraction. They were just smoke-screening themselves to pretend like everything wasn't awful, and frankly, Leo wasn't even sure who it was benefitting anymore. Clearly not Mikey. He had gotten it back together by the time they started heading home from gymnastics and had made Leo swear to secrecy, insisting that he 'didn't wanna worry anyone.' Leo had told him that that was stupid, that everyone was already worrying anyway, and pretending like he was fine wasn't gonna make a difference, but if he was being honest, he and the rest of the family rarely won any arguments against Mikey, so... 'keep it between them' it was.
It was stupid. He wasn't fooling anyone. None of them were.
And yet here he was, playing pretend right along with them anyway. He was such an idiot.
As was rapidly becoming routine, they all stayed up long enough to watch three Jupiter Jim movies while eating whatever dinner had been ordered that night before everyone headed off to bed, saying keywords and phrases like 'I dunno about you guys, but I’m exhausted' and 'it’s getting pretty late,' etc etc, even though Leo was pretty sure no one was sleeping. He certainly wasn't. And he was really trying. He swore he was, but...
Even under the best of circumstances, sleeping was hard. He had never understood how Dad or Mikey could just fall asleep the way they did, laying their heads down on their pillows and almost instantly drifting off. Sleeping involved so much work, so much effort, that sometimes it just felt easier to call the night a wash, take the all-nighter and go from there. Yes, he had tried meditating. Yes, he had tried Melatonin. He had tried sleep podcasts, white noise machines, drugs, music-- he swore he had tried it all! And none of it fixed the problem. Some of it helped, sure, but nothing consistently guaranteed him a full night's rest. Every night it was just a roll of the dice; a total blind bag. Some nights, he would sleep, and some nights, he wouldn't. It was anyone's guess.
Including his.
He wouldn't have put money on going to sleep that night. But he did.
He had no idea what made him realize that he was dreaming, but at some point, he did. He couldn't even tell you what had been happening before that point, because now, he didn't remember. Had he been outside? It had been cold. It had been dark, and there was water nearby, but he didn't think he had been outside. Somewhere else, but... He wasn't sure where.
But now, he was in their house. Right in their living room. Leo frowned a bit, looking around slowly. It was odd for their house to be this quiet.
He paused, looking at the family pictures hanging on the walls in abundance. Someone had written something on them in black marker, but he couldn't read it. It was in plain English, but he had no idea what it said. He leaned in a bit closer, narrowing his eyes, trying to translate, when a cry ripped his attention away.
"Blue!"
He knew that voice. Eyes widening, Leo whipped around to face his father-- on the ground not more than five feet away, pinned beneath some hulking stranger with jagged horns erupting from their head, their eyes glowing white and their jaws dripping with foamy blood.
"Dad?! Hang on!" He tried to jump forward, to reach out for him, but his legs wouldn't move. Why wouldn't his legs move?! His dad was right there-- right there in front of him! He could help him! He could save him, so why wasn't anything working?!
"Blue!" The same howl tore through his mind, and Leo hissed, clapping his hands over his ears as if that would help. He didn't want to watch. He didn't want to watch this creature kill his father-- he couldn't do it.
This is a dream, he reminded himself. You're dreaming. If you don’t want to watch, then you have to wake up. Wake up. Wake up now!
He could see it-- almost feel it-- his own body laid out on his bed back in the waking world, curled up on his stomach, his cheek to his pillow. He knew exactly where he was. He could see his room. He knew he was dreaming, so why couldn't he wake up? He couldn't get his body to move at all, repeatedly trying to sit up, to open his eyes, to jolt a limb to the side to no avail. The pitch of the screams shifted higher.
"Come on! Wake up already! I know you can hear me!" He cried, gritting his teeth. He knocked his fists angrily against the side of his head. "Move. We have to move!" He bit down hard on the inside of his cheek, tasting blood, and he wasn't sure if that was his dream self or his actual self. How was he supposed to tell the difference? "Move!"
Leo startled awake, his head jerking upwards and his limbs splaying outward in surprise. The entire house was quiet. Right... because it's the middle of the night. Because he was dreaming.
He had just been dreaming, and now he was awake. It was fine. He was fine.
Slowly, he sat up, running his hands through his hair with a sigh, rolling his head a few times to try to work the stiffness of his neck. He reached for his phone, knowing it would be plugged in on his nightstand, except... It wasn't there.
Leo frowned a little bit, wrinkling up his brows. His phone wasn't there. In fact, his nightstand wasn't there either. His bed wasn't even there, he realized with a start. He wasn't in his own room. He was on the floor-- the floor of-- somewhere else in the house, he guessed. How the hell did he get here? Had he sleepwalked? That was new.
He noted, vaguely, that whatever room he was in wasn't nearly as dark as he would have expected. There was this warm golden-orange glow blanketing the room like a nightlight, and Leo thought vaguely that someone must have accidentally left a desk lamp on or something, turning to take a look.
He had not been expecting to see his youngest brother floating half a foot above his own bed. Nor for him to be glowing.

Word count: 2780
Authors Note: I'm sorry this is so late but I've been busier than I thought I would be around this time but I still wanted to finish this request and post it. I know it's like a full month after the holiday season but I hope you will still enjoy this.
Tumblr media
Y/N did not have anything planned for this holiday season and she was loving it. Her parents were living a few states over and decided to finally travel around for the holiday season since for their last wedding anniversary the family got together to gift them a vacation. The rest of the family was either too far away or decided to do their own thing as well and seeing how all her roommates were off to visit their own families for their respective holidays, Y/N had the small apartment for herself.
She didn’t need to decorate, she didn’t need to plan out a dinner with her family. No, she was just planning on sitting in her room with some microwavable food and watching one of her favorite shows on her laptop. The most stressful part would just be the phone calls on Christmas day but those would go over fast.
Now when her friends, aka the four turtle mutants and April, heard about this they were absolutely aghast. Some more than others. Apparently, they couldn’t allow Y/N being alone on Christmas Eve and promptly invited her over for the day. They even roped her into coming over every now and again to help with decorating, baking cookies and the like.
And while Y/N tended to get stressed out when it comes to social interaction, she actually enjoyed the time with them.
Everyone seemed to have their own job. Mikey took care of the food for the holidays, Raph and April were the ones looking for a Christmas tree, Splinter went into the Hidden City to deal with any kind of shopping, Leo took care of most of the decoration while Donnie helped him when it came to the lights and even the music. Though the others kept looking over his music choices just to be sure.
Since out of all the people Y/N got along with Donnie the best, he immediately assigned her to lights duty alongside him. He also might have used this as an excuse to start teaching Y/N about simple electronics and the like. Y/N once said that she would love to be able to actually talk with him about his inventions but just didn’t have the knowledge. Now he sometimes took the chance to begin teaching her things.
And Y/N has really been trying her best to follow along which Donnie noticed and appreciated hence why she was allowed to go into his lab with his permission when he wasn’t in the lair. Usually this would only happen when the group needed some technical back up during missions.
This usually ended up with Y/N hurriedly working on Donnie’s computer while Donnie’s AI Shelldon told her what to do. This was also the reason why Y/N and Shelldon were pretty much besties at this point. So much so that Shelldon would sometimes ignore Donnie’s orders to do some fun things with Y/N when she was around. During his rebellious phase he even snuck over to Y/N’s apartment to complain to her about Donnie.
The phrase “Y/N would let me do this.” Was sometimes heard thrown through Donnie’s lab ever since then.
This coupled with the simple fact that the shy Y/N but was the most comfortable with Donnie and since he himself acted more like a father towards Shelldon, the others would joke that the two were divorced and Shelldon was their child. The bot loves playing into it so much so that he was moaning about not having two Christmases when the others invited Y/N over for the holidays.
Y/N laughed as she wrapped the last bit of the lights around the tree that Raph brought in together with April, Shelldon hovered around her head, obscuring her vision “Shell, please, I can’t see where I’m putting the lights down like that. Besides if you get so close some of the pine leaves or the cable might get tangled up in your rotor blades.”
He did indeed fly to the side but not before bumping his little head against Y/N’s cheek “Don’t worry, dude. I, like, totally know what I’m doing.”
“Oh, that is straight up a lie, Shelldon.” Donnie hissed. He was sitting on a beanbag and was currently hastily repairing a cable with electrical tape that Shelldon accidentally ripped by tangling it up in his blades.
“That is in the past, bruh. I know better now.” The bot only replied as he slowly flew over to Y/N’s now free arms. She immediately caught him knowing this behavior of him pretty well by now. Frankly he loved being a bit more rebellious when Y/N was around and hanging around her since he knew that Donnie wouldn’t be outright mad at her.
And Y/N very much knew she was being used as a human shield but didn’t mind it too much. She loved the little guy after all. She might be shy and isn’t one to immediately shoot back a sarcastic comment, but she is content with teasing Donnie a bit by helping Shelldon.
Donnie just sighed “You are lucky that you only destroyed the outer layer and not actually the wire inside and be glad that your rotor blades didn’t get destroyed as well, then again, I would have been more disappointed in myself if a simple flimsy cable would destroy them.”
While Donnie spoke Shelldon leaned more against Y/N, she wasn’t sure if he just did it for show or if he actually enjoyed the contact. She knew he is a sentient AI but how far all of this went she had no idea.
When the robot didn’t respond Donnie turned around to see him snuggled up in Y/N arms. She would have expected a snarky comment from him but instead he looked almost amused. Maybe the holiday season was getting even to very matter-of-factly mutant.
Y/N couldn’t help but blush as he just kept staring at her and Shelldon with a raised drawn-on eyebrow and a soft smile.
He seemed to catch on himself that he was staring, he cleared his throat and walked towards the nearest wall to hang the recently repaired cable with the lights up.
“Okay, lazy bones, these are the last of the lights.”
Y/N might be shy, but she was at this point good friends with Donnie which meant she couldn’t let the insult stand like this “Lazy bones? Shell and I put on all the lights on the tree. We were the ones working while you were sitting comfortably on the beanbag.”
He let out an annoyed, yet clearly sarcastic, huff “Scoff! Backtalk from you? Shelldon is a bad influence on you, Y/N.”
Of course, Shelldon had to immediately roll his eyes “Sure. Anyway, if all the lights are up, do you want me to get the others to take a look?”
Donnie nodded as he took another look at the cables, checking if everything was connected correctly “Yes, that would be very much appreciated. I’m sure they want to see how this all turned on as well.”
Y/N let go of the little drone so he could fly off and call the others to the living room where the three have been working. It didn’t take long for the rest of the family to come sauntering into the room and take a look around to see the, turned off, lights all around them.
Mikey was carrying a plate with some decorated cookies, he walked around and happily pressed one into everyone’s hands. Y/N had to giggle when she saw that the cookie that she was holding was decorated with her own face. The cookie had blushing cheeks to properly show off how she tended to be around everyone. Looking over at Donnie’s cookie she could see his had pulled down thick eyebrows while still sporting a big smile. It made him look like some kind of evil scientist and honestly that tracked.
“May someone turn off the lights!” Donnie pointed into the air theatrically before biting into his cookie. Y/N just shily begun nibbling on her cookie. It was a good cookie! It was! She just felt a bit on edge seeing how everyone filed in to see what Donnie, Shelldon and, of course, she herself worked on.
Speaking of Shelldon, he was nowhere to be seen. Weird, Y/N was sure he would have loved to see the lights. Then again he has been up for a while maybe he took the time since the job was done to recharge?
“Turning the lights off!” Raphael exclaimed happily and did just that. Y/N instinctively stepped a bit closer to Donnie even though she knew there would be light in a few seconds anyway.
There was a soft click as suddenly the room was bathed in a soft festive light. Multicolored lights shone bright and illuminated the room. There were a few oohs and aahs as the family spun around to take a look how all the lights wrapped around the room and filled the room with its lights.
The tree, albeit without any decoration besides the lights yet, looked especially nice. It was then that Y/N realized that she was beginning to get into the whole festive mood as well. Her eyes wide open as she took everything in. She was excited. Excited to hang out with her second family.
“Now that’s what I’m talking about! Good job you guys!” April complimented their work.
Mikey was practically bouncing “Oh! I’m so excited! This looks already great if we add more decoration this will look fantastic!”
“And I already have plenty of ideas!” Leo added proudly.
“Yeah, you three did an awesome job.” Raph smiled as he took another moment to stare at the tree he worked so hard with April to bring into the sewers.
Donnie softly laid his hand on Y/N’s shoulder, which spooked her for a second, and addressed his family “Of course we did! After all Y/N and I here have fantastic eyes for aesthetics!”
Leo couldn’t help himself as he let out a snort “Y/N, maybe. You? Eh.”
This earned him a hard stare from Donnie and surprisingly Leo backed down, maybe he felt more charitable due to the season “Alright, alright. You do know what you are doing… sometimes. Good job, Don. You too, Y/N, of course.”
Y/N could only nod to that, happy that the family didn’t hate the work she put into all of this. Almost if Donnie could read her mind or sense her worries he squeezed her shoulder once more before letting go. Almost as if to say “See? All good.” But maybe she was reading too much into this simple interaction.
Suddenly Mikey began to giggle for no apparent reason but when Leo, Raph and April also sported mischievous grins suddenly Y/N thought that she must be missing something vital. Or they were laughing because of her, for some reason. Did she have something on her face?
Donnie turned around but saw nothing, looking confused at his family “Okay, why are you all looking like that?”
Mikey pointed up towards the ceiling “Someone already started with the decorations. Look, a mistletoe.”
Both Donnie and Y/N followed Mikey’s finger and looked up. What they saw was Shelldon who had a mistletoe strapped to his body.
Donnie let out a surprised squawk and jumped to the left, pulling Y/N along but Shelldon just followed along.
It was quiet but Y/N could hear how Leo sputtered out a silent “Wow, rude.” Towards his twin’s action.
No one dared to say anything. Y/N just kept staring at her hands as she kneaded them nervously. Her face felt like it was on fire, and she did not want to look at Donnie. Or rather she wished Donnie wouldn’t see her while her face was probably a good few shade darker.
A mistletoe. A tradition she hadn’t even thought about. Was this planned? Surely someone must have put it on Shelldon to begin with but why would anyone do that? Oh god they were all just looking at them. Can she run away? It’s not like the thought of kissing Donnie is gross or anything, in fact maybe her mind had wandered to this here and there, but this was a lot right now.
Did they somehow find out she had a crush on the purple genius? Was she too obvious? Hey wouldn’t it be funny if right now Hypnoptamus decided to pull something stupid and activate the brothers villain alarm thing? Honestly, if that would happen right now Y/N would personally thank him.
Finally, Y/N dared to look towards her best friend. He stood stock still. His eyes also downcast towards his hands. He was blushing? Y/N could tell he tried his best to scowl but hanging around him for so long she could tell it was more to save his bad boy persona than anything.
The way he mirrored the pose Y/N was just in she had to think that he must be going through something similar in his mind, like she just had. But that would mean that he might actually-
He suddenly turned to look at her. The way he looked so unsure. So self-conscious. It didn’t fit him.
It’s rare she saw him like this. Usually only when the two hung out late into the night and the two began talking about their personal issues.
“So, uh, a mistle-mistletoe. It’s a, uh, you kn-know what th-that means?” In that moment Y/N could have kicked herself. Of course, he would know! She wanted to lighten up the mood but then said this for some reason. Stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid!
When Donnie didn’t react. Not even a flinch, a bat of his eyes, Y/N wanted to apologize. Maybe just give his cheek a peck and the family would have to be satisfied with this. The peck alone would be agonizing for Y/N but if it would mean the two could get out of this awkward standstill, she was ready to sacrifice herself like that. Donnie really looked like he was about to pass out.
Just as she made her mind up to do just that, to apologize Donnie finally moved. In a blink of an eye, he surged forward and pressed his lips against hers.
It felt like Y/N’s heart exploded in her chest. Donnie held onto Y/N’s arms tentatively more to probably ground himself rather than to hold her in place. She was sure that if she wanted, she could get out of his hold easily. But she didn’t.
The kiss probably only lasted a few seconds but it felt ten times more than that. She could feel the tremble in Donnie’s hands on her arms, his eyes pressed close and eyebrows pulled together while Y/N couldn’t help but stare.
When he let go and moved a step back, he turned to his dumbstruck family, apparently they didn’t think this would happen even if they might have set this up, and in a very shaky voice he turned to Shelldon “I will have a word with you later, mister.”
Y/N couldn’t help but move her fingers up to ghost over her own lips where Donnie just was moments before. Did that just happen? This wasn’t some weird dream, right? It happened all so fast.
Donnie returned his attention to his family “Happy now? Shoo you all. You have things to do, no?”
Thank Mikey for having the emotional intelligence of the family, he was the one who indeed shooed everyone away even while April and Leo had their mouths wide open and tried to fight against him. Raph simply picked the two up though and they left the room. Shelldon left as well, probably thought that if he stayed Donnie would start reprimanding him then and there.
Donnie turned to Y/N who was still standing around as if she was in a daze “Are you- Um, I just, my brothers were and uh, I just wanted them to- I’m sorry.”
But Y/N shook her head “It’s…” she tried to look for a more eloquent word that might calm him down but couldn’t land on anything better besides “fine.”
Donnie looked incredulously at her “It… is?” He was still blushing and in that moment the word cute popped inside Y/N’s head.
She nodded “I’m happy.” She said while letting out a deep breath of air. As if trying to release any tension she had in her body. She couldn’t help to chuckle out of pure euphoria, her crush just kissed her “I’m happy. She exclaimed more confidently.
Donnie was just as nervous, but the tension seemed to slowly leave his body as well and he released a hearty chuckle “I am too.”

Feel free to ignore this ask if it's overstepping, but whenever I have to do something stressful involving my mental health I channel/process those feelings by writing fanfic of my blorbos doing the same thing. So, any thoughts about rise Leo going to his first therapy session post-movie in the Hidden City? Could even take place in the City Lights verse.
x
Mikey is kicking the heel of his foot against the waiting room chair over and over, full of a restless sort of worry.
It was an uphill battle getting Leo to agree to this in the first place. God, Mikey would almost rather fight the Shredder again then relive that first conversation about it. Being stubborn is a Hamato trait but Leo takes it to a whole new level.
Thankfully, he is and always has been a daddy’s boy.
“I have not always been a good father to you,” Splinter finally says, interrupting the beginning stages of Donatello Losing His Absolute Shit Out Of Love. He pats Leo’s cheek gently. “But I am putting my foot down this time, Blue.”
“You’re the medic,” Raph points out. “You wouldn’t let one of us walk around with a broken bone, would you?”
For all that he’s spent the last two years in a state of constant anxiety and frustration, he never lost that softness that makes him their Raph. He still carries it around with him, and hands it out freely where it’s needed, and right now he’s wrapping it around Leo as deftly as a blanket.
And for all that Leo has this stupid idea lately that he’s supposed to be perfect and self-reliant and never burden his family with anything he could handle on his own, he’s still their Leo. He buckles under genuine affection like a house of cards.
He puts up one last token protest. “That’s not the same thing.”
“It’s exactly the same thing,” Donnie says, just barely not a snap. “You have literally bullied me into telehealth sessions before.”
He’s not angry, not really. He just cares so much and he can’t get the words to come out right and he wants Leo to do what is best for Leo without arguing about it, even though they all know that’s just flat-out impossible.
“It’s different,” Leo stresses, well and truly at his emotional threshold. “You deserve—”
He cuts himself off but the damage is done. Everyone knows what he was going to say, what he meant. The tension in the room ratchets up to a solid fifteen on a max ten scale. Donnie starts flapping his hands. Casey looks pale and haunted. Mikey bites down on the wounded sound he wants to make, but Raph’s arms tighten around him like he heard it anyway.
“Yeah,” April says in a tone that lets all of her little brothers know not to mess around, “you’re going to therapy, Leon.”
Splinter grips Leo’s chin before he can sink into his shell. There’s an ocean of grief in the rat’s eyes that Mikey is worried he might drown in. But there’s love, too. Mountains of it, rising out of turbulent water, steady and immovable and forever.
“Don’t hide yourself away,” Splinter says. Maybe it’s something he would have liked someone to say to him, once upon a time. “We love who you are, even if who you are is someone who is struggling right now. Lean on us, Leonardo. You are not alone.”
So here they are. The latest in a string of failures. Mikey keeps bumping his foot into the chair leg, trying not to stare at the clock.
This is the longest an intake session has lasted. The first one was about ten minutes, but none of them expected the first one to go well. Leo joked about the whole thing and wouldn’t answer anyone’s questions directly. But he went straight to his room afterwards and didn’t come out until he was extracted for dinner, which said plenty.
The session after that went on for half an hour, but Splinter—and Draxum, who had come along that time and sat in with Leo’s permission—agreed it wasn’t the right fit. The session after that was another no-go, and then the disastrous fourth session almost shut the whole operation down entirely. It lasted all of twenty minutes and ended in property damage. Whatever was said in that office caused Splinter to go full Lou Jitsu and break the desk, a chair, and the door on their way out. Leo was glassy-eyed and unresponsive in a way that caused actual murder to flash through Donnie’s eyes.
Leo crawled directly into Raph’s open arms and stayed there, cheek pressed to plastron, to better hear the comforting rumble that started up in his brother’s chest. When Mikey crawled in next to him, his hands opened so Mikey could hold them, but otherwise he just blinked slowly and didn’t speak and it was the worst thing ever and Mikey very heroically managed not to burst into tears but it was close.
They were kind of expecting him to cite The Fourth Session as a reason why they should pack this whole idea up and mail it far away from them to the next bunch of jokers but he didn’t. He just heaved himself off the sofa without a whine or a joke or anything and shuffled after Splinter out the door.
It made Mikey feel like a bully. It was for Leo’s own good, but it was clearly taking a toll. Opening himself up again and again for a complete stranger, only to have that trust totally unrewarded and sometimes even thrown back in his face. For someone like Leo, whose guard is constant and unwavering even when the only people he has to guard against are his own family, it must be grueling. It must be awful.
But if they could just find the right fit, Mikey thinks desperately. If they could just find the right person…
“Hey,” Raph says, nudging Mikey’s arm, jolting him out of his thoughts. “He’ll be okay. Pops isn’t gonna let it get as far as it did the last time. He promised.”
“At worst, we’ll be accessories to murder,” Donnie says without looking up from his phone. He sounds like the idea doesn’t bother him at all, and also like it’s much preferable to anyone making his twin even the smallest bit upset for any reason. “In which case I suggest swinging back around to Session Four’s office and tying up loose ends.”
Raph closes his eyes briefly, looking as though he’s actively making plans to wrestle Donnie into therapy next, and then continues as if the softshell hadn’t spoken at all. “Leo’s perfectly safe.”
“No I know,” Mikey says quickly. In part because he knows Raph is trying to make him feel better, also in part because it sounds like maybe Raph is trying to make himself feel better, too. “I just—we’re running out of names in the Hidden City white pages, you know?”
“I can’t believe they still use the white pages here,” Donnie mutters.
“There’s still a lot of options left for us to try,” Raph says patiently. “And when we run out of options, we’ll come up with another plan. Don’t borrow trouble just yet, okay?”
Mikey leans on him, trying to absorb some of that steadfastness for himself, and Raph puts an arm around him, drawing him and his whole chair closer with a short shriek of plastic on linoleum.
A sudden high-pitched, frantic beeping fills the lobby. A few heads in the waiting room turn, but the yokai behind the desk don’t even blink.
“Is that the fire alarm?” Raph asks in a polite, I’m-not-freaking-out-but-I’m-about-to tone.
“Oh, honey, it’s okay,” one of the receptionists reassures him at once. She’s been nice to them since they got here and her teal face is lined from a long life of smiling. “This happens all the time. We have wards to prevent fire, but they don’t stop smoke.”
“Um, okay,” Mikey says. “But why is there smoke? In a clinic?”
The door leading to the offices opens and Leo steps out looking slightly scorched and a little bemused. Splinter is nudging him along, looking like he’s aged ten years in the last sixty minutes, and a beetle yokai shuffles after them sheepishly.
It’s the beetle yokai who introduced himself as Cricket, the clinical psychologist with licenses from both yokai and human institutions who passed Donatello’s extremely invasive vetting process, and the first doctor to somehow last the full hour with Mikey’s most stubborn brother. He’s five foot nothing and his exoskeleton is a pretty coral color.
“What did you set on fire this time?” one of the employees says in a long-suffering tone.
“You don’t know for certain that it was me,” Cricket replies with a nervous little yank at his wrinkled button-down shirt.
“Like the entire lounge,” Leo answers immediately after. “It’s amazing, I’ve never seen anyone fail at cookies that hard before in my life, and I live with Donatello.”
“Offended scoff,” Donnie says loudly.
“It’s a nice gesture!” Cricket says. “I was making a nice gesture!”
“Whoever left their lunch on the counter in there, I have bad news,” Leo goes on. One of the yokai tapping away at a computer stops, puts her head in her hand, and sighs. Splinter draws Leo down far enough to pat him on the cheek and then heads toward the reception area to do paperwork things. Leo and Cricket bicker their way across the waiting room.
Mikey feels something buoyant and bubbly happening in his chest, like someone shook a can of soda up in there. This is the most Leo-like Leo has been after a session, in all his playful, sarcastic glory. He glances up and sees the way Mikey is vibrating in his chair and laughs.
“Jeez, Michael, if you needed to go outside and run around the block I would have understood.”
“I’m saving all my energy for giving you the biggest, proudest, love-you-est hug of my entire career,” Mikey says very seriously.
Leo’s golden eyes get very bright, which is how Mikey can tell that his heart is smiling even if his face folds into something theatrical and performative. “Am I gonna need to clear my calendar?”
“The WHOLE day, baby!”
Cricket is smiling at the picture the four of them make, mandibles clicking idly. Splinter is watching too, his eyes impossibly soft and full of the same pride Mikey’s feeling in spades.
“What do you say, Leo?” Cricket says. “Same time next week?”
Leo tugs at the sleeve of the purple hoodie he borrowed from Donnie that morning. He glances sidelong at Splinter, who gazes back fondly but doesn’t answer for him. Mikey’s on pins and needles, waiting to hear what he’ll say with his heart in his throat. He thinks he can feel Raph holding his breath.
“Yeah, I guess,” Leo says after a moment. “Maybe we can burn your office down next time.”
Cricket lets out an affronted little clicking noise but he clearly doesn’t mean it, because he sends the clan off with warm goodbyes. The second they’re out the door, Mikey flings himself at Leo bodily, barely remembering at the last second to be gentle. Donnie has his arm linked through Leo’s good one, and Splinter is hanging back to make a quiet, exhaustively relieved phone call to April and Casey, and Mikey keeps saying how proud he is. He can’t stop. Leo’s the bravest person he knows, the best person, and he has to keep saying it or he’s going to explode.
“Alright, alright,” Raph says, gently disentangling Leo from the bramble of clingy brothers and lifting him up onto his shoulders instead. “Take us home, Fearless.”
There’s a smile on Leo’s face that’s almost familiar. It’s not the one Mikey knows, but it’s one he’s getting to know. The fact that his brother is here to smile at all is more of a miracle than most people get in a whole lifetime.
Even if Leo never makes it all the way back to that shining boy he used to be, Mikey can think of at least a billion things to love about the person he is right now.

it's in my head now, ain't going away so here it is
Woody and Angel are passing a quiet morning sorting donations, cleaning and re-boxing clothes and toys. This is the time Mikey and Donnie would usually come around, early morning. Do you think they will come around anymore? Haven't seen them since Leo got back. Yeah, heard from Casey. Mm, yeah it was on the news, there haven't been any Monster Sightings since reports of strange lights at Winter Corp a few weeks ago. Well yeah of course I think that had something to do with them, April worked with Max Winters.
Donnie wanders in. Unusual for him to be alone. Even more unusual for him to be puffy-eyed and listless. Hey buddy, what's going on? You wanna take a look at the pantry? You guys haven't been by to get food in a while (Woody's been so worried)
"Mikey's gone."
Angel's calling Casey while Woody tries to coax the whole story out of Don. He's really frazzled, they've never seen him like this.
"Didn't know where else to come--they've been yelling all night--"
Woody finds out that Mikey's been missing for about a week; why didn't they tell someone sooner? Nevermind, not important--do you know where he might have gone?
We saw him last night. He's with--it's hard to explain.
Angel's yelling. Casey and April are with Splinter and the other turtles. Donnie had said he was stepping out to pick up some food, they hadn't been worried about him before Angel's call. Leo is not thrilled that he went to a bunch of humans (Leo hasn't met them, deep trust issues from his time alone) without consulting the team first.
It's been like this all night, Donnie admits in a small voice. Blaming each other, bringing up stuff from the past..
April's disapproval of Raph's behavior while Leo was gone. Casey's frustration over April's absence while she was working with Winters. Raph lashing out almost at random, confused and devastated. Who was supposed to be watching him? Shut up shut up it doesn't matter how old he is, don't you get it, we're mutants, people want us dead. We're all each other has and we should've been with him.
But nothing like Leo yelling at Splinter. Yeah, it's done the team so much good that I'm so much stronger. Nothing to make a better team leader like being separated from the team. What were you thinking, why didn't you take better care of them while I was gone, why did you send me away? they needed me here. What's gonna happen to Mikey now, huh? you chose to tear this family apart, and I just don't understand why
We know where he is, Donnie tells Woody. He's with Karai--I think he felt bad for her, after she helped us with Winters.
Karai--who's that? Is he safe with her?
I don't know I don't know I don't know. Organization called the Foot, gang once led by the Shredder, tried to kill us, she's talking about bringing him back, I'm afraid she's grooming him to be a ritualistic sacrifice--
Angel's called in the crew, but they can't meet here. The rest of Donnie's family is headed to April's place. Me and Woody gotta stay here, we'll meet up with you guys tonight to help look for him
And then the Professor arrives. Clocks immediately that Donnie is distressed and Mikey, who would normally be with him, absent.
"It's good to see you my friend! Where is Michelangelo?"
"He's a little lost at the moment, sir."
"I see. Easy to get lost in a city like this. I have a friend who knows the layout very well, perhaps he can help us find him."
Oh I don't know if that's a good idea, we don't want to get too many people involved--
People? Who said anything about people?
He pulls out some freaking. bird seed and does a pigeon call. Pigeon lands in from of him.
"Hello, Pete. How are you?"
"Great, just stole a fantastic hot dog. Any theories today, Professor?"
"A problem, instead, that I was hoping for your help with. Have you seen this turtle?"
Cocks his little pigeon head at Donnie. Ruffles his wings thoughtfully. "He got brothers? I think I've seen turtles around, but not this one and not too often. They mostly stick to the shadows."
"A brother is missing, the one in orange. Can you help us find him?"
"Course I will, I owe you more than a few favors. I'll tell the whole crew; mutants gotta stick together, you know."
Winks at Donnie, flies away, yes that's right Pigeon Pete is bringing in the Mutanimals to help save Mikey from--
wait.
Did you say Mikey left on purpose to join the Foot?
(btw Angel has firsthand experience being a kid frustrated with a system that isn't built for her wellbeing, feeling out of place at home, looking for a group to belong to, falling in with the wrong crowd)

Terrapin Soup Part 12
Usagi met back up with Leo after his talk with Raph, and after Donnie managed to get the lights back on. They sat in Leos room for a bit both sharing what they'd talked about.  "And he took it really well I think, I mean he didn't kick me out so.."
"D-Did you tell him about.. Me?"
"No no, I wouldn't do that without your permission. I just told him about me and Hyo, I left you out of it for the most part. But I was very honest still." Leo laid back on the bed letting out a relieved sigh, "I still don't know how I'm gonna tell them.. If I ever do..." Usagi chuckled softly and laid beside Leo, "Well if you ever do I'll be with you for support. And if they can accept me, I'm sure it'll be easier to accept someone they're much closer to. I didn't talk about the dinner thing yet but I think I'll let them all sit with this information for a bit before I try to do anything like that for them. We can't rush these things after all. What about the pins, did Donatello agree?"
"If I can get the supplies, but that's the tricky part cause.. Apparently to make enough for all of us is gonna be dangerous? But if we had them Donnie could go to school- A real school with smart people like him, Mikey could draw the city *during* the day.. He could go sit outside with real people and make friends! Raph could even go topside, maybe find a gym or somewhere to go train at- Hell even dad could go do things.. It's worth the risk. I know it is..." It looked like Leo was about to say something else but his phone started buzzing, he pulled it from his waist pouch and saw Donnie had sent the list of everything he'd need to get started. Yes! "Donnie's in! I might be a bit busy till we get these made but.." Usagi nodded, resting his head against Leo's shoulder, "I understand, once its complete we should go on another date topside, there's so many other things I want to show you.. But for now we should rest here for a bit, I want to spend all the time I can with you before you get too busy."
Leo smiled a little, taking Usagi's hand in his rubbing the back of it with his thumb, how in the fuck did this man get so soft..? "Agreed, and- Oh! I just remembered someone else who's eaten yokai- That bad guy Meat Sweats! He's like a famous chef and Mikey loves who he used to be- He followed him into the forest once to get one of his secret recipes and is like, obsessed with that guys career." Usagi made a confused expression for a moment wondering why he'd bring it up so suddenly, but then it clicked, that maybe it wouldn't be that difficult to get the other brothers on board with trying new things. If Mikey already idolized someone who had a history of questionable meals, who knows what he'd be willing to try..? "I see. Ill have to look into this person when I get home, maybe if I can find some information Michelangelo doesn't know we could have a conversation about it later. That's a good idea Leo"
  ~Time Skip cause I'm really unoriginal~
Over the next few days everyone chipped in to acquire that parts Donnie needed, The last part was the main power source. Out in a heavily guarded building out in the woods on the outskirts of a city a little ways from where they were, Leo had his portals so naturally he was the one to go. He was so close to having everything..
"Hey, Leo." Donnie called as he came out from his lab, a stack of empty coffee cups in his arms, "You sure you don't want backup? I mean Mikey could-"
"Chill Dee, solo is better for stealth. I'll be in and out, I'm not gonna have signal out there so If I need anything Ill just hit that emergency button on out communicators. I've got this."
"I know I just.. Don't love the idea of you going off alone, to some far off place, where we don't really know what's gonna be there waiting in defense.. Oh, and Hannibal texted asking when you'd be free again." Leo rolled his eyes, Donnie had been calling Usagi various nicknames since he found out about the eating yokai thing, "Not funny Dee. Just tell him I'll go visit him when I get back tomorrow. My phones been.. Well you saw how Raph's a.. H-How Raph fell on my phone.." Donnie rolled his eyes and nodded, "Yeah yeah, just go so you can get back." Leo gave a reassuring pat to Donnie's shell before he swung his odachi opening up a portal. "Awww you looove meeee~" He said with a shit eating grin as he stepped through, fast enough he couldn't hear Donnie's retort. He let out a little laugh as the portal closed leaving him in a wooded area, the sun was on it's way down so he'd have to wait a bit before heading forward. "Let's see.. Its just a small government building in the middle of the woods with maybe twenty people max, including guards. I mean the amount of like, smart people there is only like five or ten probably.. I'd assume you need like, two guards for the front door, a body guard for each science person... And there's one inside guarding the stuff. So we just wait till the shift change at night.. All the science dorks go home and cut the number in half.. Hopefully... Then I can get home to my cute boyfriend and we can cook together again~" His stomach rumbled at the mention of Usagi's cooking, he really should have eaten before leaving-
He started making his way towards the building in the distance, there was a small clearing where it was built to I guess make it easier not to get infuriated, not like that was going to stop Leo. He climbed to one of taller trees to keep watch of the building as the sun set, waiting maybe an hour before he saw the lights of a car starting up from behind the building. It was about time! Once all the cars were gone or so it seemed he opened a small portal onto the roof of the building, laying low and listening for the sound of anyone outside.
There was nothing, this was going surprisingly well.. He traced along the panels on the roof with his sword, tapping a few that looked older till he found a weak spot where it caved slightly under the weight. He pried the asphalt panel from its place revealing a sizable hole, he could work with this. "Guess you can't hire a contractor for secret outposts huh.." He muttered as he knelt down peeking his head into the hole first to make sure it was clear. Once there were no signs of lights or life he cut more around the edges to avoid getting scraped and shimmied into the darkness. He touched down in a dark room, using the flashlight function on his watch to get a good look, there were no lights or cameras in the room so he figured it must be a storage room of some kind, or a bathroom? Looking around there were lots of boxes, most covered in dust and a bucket to the left half full of water, yeah, this was just a storage room.. At least they had the sense to try and keep the contents dry with the bad roof- "Now is not the time to compliment them Leo, c'mon-" He whispered to himself as he continued looking around, carefully reading each box's label without moving them too much to avoid making noise or getting dust on himself. "Okay.. Wires, wires, wet specimens.. Dry specimens? No.. It probably wouldn't be in this mess.. Donnie said the power source would be in it's own room-" He set one of his swords down behind a few bigger boxes so he could get back here for a quick escape if he needed it before finding the door. For a moment he stood there, listening again to make sure the coast was clear then opening the door slowly, using the reflection of his odachi to look down the halls, nothing.. There didn't seem to be cameras either, which was really odd.. But it didn't matter as long as he was able to get what he wanted and get out. "What would Usagi do..?" He asked himself, smirking at the thoughts that came to his mind. He's just really gay alright-
Leo aimed his sword out and threw it into the light overhead, killing the dim lights in the hallway before stepping out, he reached up grabbing the sword and doing the same to all the lights down his path, this would make it so no one would see him, or they'd have a hard time at least. He chuckled a little at the thought of a bunch of nerds scrambling in the dark as he strode in, and out, with ease. Till of course all the surrounding lights went out, and a ominous red glow filled the halls. Either that was the back up power, or he was proper fucked- "Haha... This is fine.." He walked a little faster dipping his head into each room he passed making sure there was nothing he missed, no one seemed to be around so he was really hoping that he was alone here. There was no sound or people, no voices, or shoes against the tiles, no clinking of keys or flicking of switches. It felt like he was in a horror movie, the cold hall stained red from the lights along the walls. This was fine.. Suddenly he saw a faint glow from a room as he turned down another hallway. That had to be it right? He eyed the door, it was shut and sealed tight, "Who in the world needs three card readers on a single door? You guys are doin' too much-" He said as he shook his head, slicing the air between him and the doorway, lighting the hallway an awkward tertiary mix of red and blue. He stepped through glancing around the room. He sighed a little and stepped up to the island table in the center of the room, on it was a cylinder probably the size of a soda can on its own small pedestal, it was maybe a little smaller then a soda can, he wasn't really able to tell with just the small light from his communicator. The pulsing glow from the device didn't ease him any. "Whelp- This is probably it, I'll just grab this and skedaddle like so~"
Except when he reached for the device he heard a loud click from behind him. The lights all shut off for a brief second before starting to blink, the bright red then pitch black made it hard to navigate the room as he tried to leave. He pushed against the door but it no longer budged when confronted with his weight. "Okay- I can just portal back- And get out the way I got in, easy!" He swung his sword as he heard footsteps approaching the room, a distant "What the fuck is that-?" Could be heard from the hallway, he rolls his eyes as he kept waving his sword, "C'mon.. C'mon please-!" Finally a portal wide enough to fit though opened up, he rushed in as soon as the door started to open. He poked his head into the empty store room ready to let out the biggest relived sigh he could muster but froze when he felt something on his leg. He slowly turned his head to see a pair of hands around one leg and some kind of syringe being injected in the other. "Wha- Wait-" Was all he said before a heavy feeling took over, he heard the clang of metal on the floor as he was pulled back through his portal, his hands were empty, he couldn't even feel them at this point. Fuck- Fuck fuck fuck this can't be happening, how could they catch him? What where they going to do to him? He felt his hands trying to hold each other for some sense of comfort, with the last of his strength he pressed the emergency button on his wrist tech, he promised he'd be okay.. He promised...
-_-_-_-
"No faiiir! It's my turn to pick the movie!"
"Mikey no, you picked last time. It's Leos turn, whenever he gets back." There was a loud 'ping' that came from Donnie's wrist first then to Raph and Mikey's right after. They all paused as Donnie checked, ready to hear that Leo was on his way back if not about to head out. But the look of Donnie's smug expression falling into confusion then panic made the others look at their notifications too. It was the panic button, why would he have hit the panic button? There was no other texts or notifications not even a meme- There was a sound from the hallway that made everyone shoot up from their seats to go check, hoping Leo was pulling some awful prank and was about to walk into the room any second.
"Hey- Sorry for intruding Leo said I was allowed to just let myself in so I-" Usagi stopped in the doorway, a bit surprised by the three turtles standing not even a foot from him all with intense looks, "I- Sorry, was I.. Am I interrupting something?" Donnie took a step back, giving Usagi a few feet to come into the room as he spoke, "No- No no its.. We just weren't expecting it to be you-" Mikey pushed past his brothers to throw his arms around Usagi, "Leo's in trouble!!" He cried as Usagi halfheartedly tried to comfort him, he didn't really know what was going on yet, but he was still glad Mikey felt comforted by him. "We don't know that for sure Mikey- We should get to my lab and take a look at the new tracker I put on him to double check." Usagi nodded along till he heard the mention of another tracker, he gently patted Mikey and let him back up before stepping closer to Donnie, "You what? Did you seriously put another tracker on him after what happened last time??"
"What you expect me to just.. Let him go that far without anything?"
"Yes!!" He didn't mean to raise his voice but he could see why Leo was so upset about it now. "Don't you know how important it is to him for you to just trust him? How upset he was last time? How I had to help remove the last one so he wouldn't hurt himself??" Raph winced at the mention, mentally seeing all the self inflicted marks on his little brothers arms..
"Okay wait." He said, putting a hand on Usagi's shoulder, "I know it seems.. Insensitive, but that's just how Dee is. He means we'll, and he's just worried about his brother. That's just how he shows it. We can settle that later though, if he's in trouble that takes priority." Usagi let out a little huff and nodded, "..Okay, okay fine. You're right. Let's find him first." They all nodded and headed to Donnie's lab, gathered around his chair as he first tracked the wrist tech and crossed it with the tracker on Leo. "Okay so they're still in the same area, but the stupid signal is getting messed with.. Not good, it means he's still in the building. Its too far for any of us to walk, and the tank is pretty big.. But the panic button was no accident..."
"Ill go."
"Usagi no offense but I don't think-"
"I wasn't asking for permission. I have a cloaking pin, I know short cuts to get outside the city, I'm trained to do stuff like this. I'll go." Donnie huffed turning back to the screen muttering, "I hate it when he's right" As he pulled out a drawer and tossed another wrist cuff to Usagi. "Its still in beta so don't break it, but you'll probably need this, its a Raph sized escape pod, the interface is fairly simple so once you find him you'll know what to do but it should be wide enough to fit the two of you and fly you back here safely." Usagi looked at it for a moment, wondering how something that was big enough to fit the two of them could come in such a compact design. "Thank you. I'll bring him back, and we can all yell at him afterwards"
"Oh wait- Here take this too." Donnie added giving him another kind of wrist cuff, "I guess if you're going you should have a way to communicate with us and him if need be. And if all goes well I suppose I may let you keep it for future endeavors.." They all nodded and Usagi put his pin on before leaving the sewers, heading through his short cuts through the city, hoping nothing bad would happen.
In all honesty he wasn't worried for Leo, he knew if it came down to it that man could beat every one there and then some. He was more worried of what this kind of stress would do to him, if he'd be able to hold back long enough for Usagi to get there.. He looked to the trackers position and kept going, he wouldn't be there till sunrise.. If they really managed to catch him the place would be on high alert, day or night wouldn't matter when he got there. He shook any negative thoughts from his head, instead trying to think about what a nice reunion it'd be between them, and how happy Leo would most likely be to see his boyfriend come to his rescue. Yeah, that was a much more motivating train of thought to follow..

Ok, more info dumping from my last au:
So, Leon (that’s f!Leo) and CJ arrive to the 2012 universe the night April and her dad got kidnapped. The turtles doesn’t met yet the apocalyptic duo
The saw the 2012 gang running behind the van, while Mikey discovers the Kraang.
While he went to alert his brothers, Leon kills the alien with no hesitation, knowing the menace they are.
However he realices that, hey, this Kraang is different. He’s smaller and has a robotic body.
So he and CJ decide to investigate on what is going on. Like “hey, this is not the past. New York isn’t this colorless and why is the Kraang here and why are they so different!?”
But first they need to get Leon some medical assistance, bc he’s hurt from fighting the krang. So they raid a pharmacy to get supplies.
Meanwhile Mikey bring his brothers back to the alley where he last saw the Kraang, just to find a bloody mess (pink blood, obviously) with a dead alien and a robotic body.
The guys found this 10x more weird so they tell Splinter and he decides to join them bc “yes my sons can defend themselves but in no way I’m letting them go alone and fight aliens and a possibly alien killer”.
They 2012 gang finally meet the apocalyptic duo when they raid the Kraang base. CJ helps Donnie to save April but the Kraang still gets away with her dad.
Leon passes out by blood loss (he opened a injury while figthing, the idiot) so CJ asks for help in exchange to explain everything (the gang is curious about why is there another, older mutant turtle and a boy fighting aliens with such ferocity, especially Splinter who has a weird, familiar connection to Leon)
After waking up, Leon and CJ make a plan. Their biggest priority was getting CJ back to the past and getting the key before the invasion started. But now they can’t left this universe with the possibility that a new invasion might start soon. Leon couldn’t stop the invasion the first time but he’ll be damned if he can’t prevent this one to happen. Even if committing alien genocide will be the only way to stop them.
So, how about it? Let me know what you think.

Note
so my niece has been going through a tangled phase, and the idea of a leosagi tangled au won’t leave me alone but i can’t decide between
1. leo being rapunzel, kidnapped by big mama
2. leo being rapunzel kidnapped by draxum
3. leo being rapunzel kidnapped by Hikiji
4. usagi being rapunzel kidnapped by Hikiji
i’m leaning towards 1 or 3 cuz leo being rapunzel just like feels right idk maybe cuz magic power lmao
but my other dilema
how do leo’s bros and usagis gang fit in
idk the idea is in beta, thoughts?
Oh I love tangled it’s one of my favorite Disney movies. (It and Cinderella 3 are tied for my favorite princess movie)
Oh you have so many good options. May I give you two flavors.
Option one
I shall go with Big Mama taking Leo
Maybe Lou Jitsu is king and wants to have kids. Not a wife (tried that it was a disaster) but kids. Maybe local alchemist offers a solution. Empyrean. They go and get it and four children are born in a three year time span. Raph, the twins, and the Mikey.
Big Mama was using the Empyrean either to stay young, create warriors, or to maintain her human appearance. I think I like the last option best. She used it to disguise her true form so she could do business with humans.
So she needed a power source. The boys are all toddlers, Raph at age 2 is already showing a protectiveness and hardheadedness, he will not be a good candidate. Plus he’s the biggest and would have the most painful bite. Donnie is a good option. Even at one he’s intelligent for a baby, but he’s delicate and might not survives ruff journey, at least not at the speed she will have to take it. Mikey is the smallest and easiest to grab but he’s also the most heavily guarded, being the brand new baby. Leo it is. Small, less guards, more sturdy.
So she takes him one night and disappears forever. Leaving the royal family one prince short.
She raise Leo as her own and if he turns out to be just as cunning as her, we’ll she proud of that. But he can never leave the tower she made for him. (She thinks he’s stuck there but red eared sliders are one of the turtle species that can climb.) she also finds that the boy is skilled in portal magic, something she seals away.
One day close to his eighteenth birthday. A Ronin that got himself into a tight spot hides up in the tower.
And off they go on their adventure.
Leo wants to see the floating lights and Usagi needs to go that way anyways. Maybe he has a delivery for someone in the Hamato kingdom
The Tenshu crew would be the snuggly duckling patrons.
Big mama looking for them, slowly reverting to her more spider like state. She has teemed up with Kenichi a jealous samurai.
She finds them and approaches Leo when he is alone and comments about how Usagi is just completing a task. Leo is a tag along. As soon as their destinations no longer align Usagi will leave him. It’s the way of a Ronin, to always be traveling. He’s not going to stay for Leo, who would. And he won’t want Leo tagging along. Look how much slower he travels with Leo, look how much trouble Leo has caused him. As soon as Usagi has the chance he’ll leave. “I doubt he’ll even say goodbye, it’s in a ronin’s nature to leave.” Leo is shaken but doesn’t want to back down just yet.
They make it to the kingdom and are enjoying the festivities (Usagi has never been there before he knows about the lost prince but has no idea what he looks like.
After the romantics day out and the lantern scene in the boat. Usagi lands their boat, by now he’s already completed his job in the kingdom. He sees something near by and asks Leo to stay out, worried it might be trouble and not wanting Leo near it.
It’s a set up by Kenichi and Usagi falls for it, and when he leaves Leo’s side Big Mama is there to show Leo that his beloved Samurai is leaving him without a goodbye. Leo returns with her.
Kenichi has approached the roual family with Leo’s mask, a gift since infancy, covered in blood and claiming he found Usagi with it. This does not put Usagi in a good position.
Of course their is a jail break sequence. I’m thinking Mayhem as pascal and maybe April or cassanrada as Maximus. (A guard who takes their job very seriously but gets won over by leo)
Orion two
Usagi is Rapunzel and Hikiji is gothel.
Maybe Hikiji has an old grudge against Katsuichi and takes his adopted son as a way to break his spirit.
No magic here just a mad man.
He is raised to be a servant, no sword fighting skills in sight and he is never aloud to leave.
But you can’t keep a sword out of his hands and he practices in secret.
One day a ninja stumbles in and while Usagi has been raised to see all ninja as evil, this is also an opportunity out. He wants to see the world.
Leo get bullied into taking the bunny to the Tenshu.
On the way there they have to stop at run of the mill for food and meet Leo’s family (the snuggly duckling crew)
Hikiji is tracking them and tries to convince Usagi to leave telling him that Leo will just kill him once he’s board of him. But Usagi doesn’t waver just yet
Once in town they hear tales of the missing rabbit. The son of the lord’s best friend. Leo makes a joke about Usagi looking like the kid.
After a romantic day together Leo gets separated from Usagi and Hikiji swoops him back up.
This idea needs more flesh to it but I can see Tomeo ame as Maximus and Chizu or Kitsune as pascal. Probably Chizu as she would also work under Hikiji.
Which do you like better

Okay I am currently planning out a fanfic that I recently started writing, that’s why I started rewatch and write down every information that I would find useful. But while I did that I found out something interesting or rather something that I found interesting.
You see, through the whole series we learn more and more about the Jupiter Jim franchise, and it’s a lot, considering it is not mentioned that often in the series. The show really manages to paint a picture of this small little franchise within it self , it’s really insane if you think about it.
Like I started to write down some information, thinking to myself that It would be a fun side detail to add in my fanfic but then the list got longer, and longer…
So I decided to post everything I got, to maybe help other fanfic authors that might need this information and to maybe entertain some others.
But quick disclaimer: this is not everything, I am sure that I missed some details from the show but I do believe this is a majority of information we got.
Sorry for my bad english, and please enjoy! :3
All the Jupiter Jim movie
We know that there are 80 movies total, we only know the Titels of 69- 71 (don’t worry I’ll explain later why this number is a rough estimate)
The names of the movie titles we know are :
~ Jupiter Jim saves a cat
~ Jupiter Jim and the robo-blood suckers
~ Jupiter Jim and the shark people from planet shark
~ Jupiter Jim on planet Reptelia
~ Jupiter Jim and the invisible blaster from seta alpha 9
~ Jupiter Jim Time warp
~ Jupiter Jim sails the seven galaxies
~ Jupiter Jim - Pluto vacation IV
~ Jupiter Jim Last trip to the moon
~ Jupiter Jim Last trip to the moon 2
~Jupiter Jim Last trip to the moon 60
~ Jupiter Jim Second to last trip to the moon
-Jupiter Jim's third last trip to the Moon
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
( quick side note: I love the detail that the solutes of the aliens on the movie poster of Jupiter Jim on planet Raptelia , look like Raph and Leo )
Okay, now that you see the movie posters maybe you now understand why I can only give the the rough estimate of movie titels we know and why the number is so high
We know that there are 60 „last trip to the moon „ Movies , but we don’t know if they are all titelt that same way. Yes, the three Titel cards we are shown all have the same naming scheme „Jupiter Jim and the last trip to the moon“ with a number at the end announcing its placement in the mountain of sequels, however in the same episode we get to see them (which is repo mantis by the way ) Mikey mentioned another movie Titel in the „trip to the moon“ saga, „Jupiter Jimmy’s second to last trip to the moon“.
Now we now it’s not the second movie in the franchise, because we see it’s Titel card meaning it must be somewhere in between, but that indicates that there a movies in the saga that are named differently, meaning that we might not know all the „last rip to the moon „ movie Titels, but maybe it is just that one movie that is named differently, who knows?
The second reason I am not sure with the numbers of movie titles we know , is Pluto vacation IV. Is Pluto VC IV only named that way because it’s the fourth movie in the franchise? Or are there at least 3 other Pluto VC movies?
My guess is that it’s the later, considering that naming a movie Pluto VC IV would be an odd name to give a stand alone movie, but it’s Jupiter Jim we are talking about, everything is possible here.
Now we have that out of the way…
Characters in the Jupiter Jim universe
~ Jupiter Jim (obviously)
~ Red Fox
~ Atomic Lass
~ Atomic Lad
Tumblr media
Red fox is Jupiter Jim’s trusted sidekick. She is a red Panda Yokai. Jupiter Jim never thanked her making her leave
Atomic Lass worked together with JJ in a movie or two, making her part of the Jupiter Jim extended universe. She is fighting crime, protecting Uraniumville from evil together with her partner Atomic Lad, who she is in a romantic relationship in. She and Jupiter Jim had a fall out, which made them never speak again. What the fallout caused is unknown to us, the fallout is known under “ the incident “ which will never be mentioned ever again.
Catchphrases and extra nifty stuff
~ the most common used phrase is the shout „Jupiter Jim Ahoy!“ which almost sounds like a war cry (It reminds me of the Leroy Jenkins shout )
~ the general use of the phrase „Ahoy!“ the Ahoy can be detached from the „Jupiter Jim‘ bit and still mean the same
~ „ by the rings of Jupiter!“ a expression used to express their surprise, the character that uses it the most (I think) is Red fox
~ “leaping lightyears! ” a expression to convey shock
~ Jupiter Jim’s space ship is called “The SS Starbold”
~ Jupiter Jim’s prime directive is to maintain Interplanetary peace
Weapon’s
Jupiter Jim uses a verity of weapons including ( but not limited to) the following:
~ The Harpoon ray
~ Solar-sabers
~ Stygian thumb cuffs
~Dolteray torture sticks
~ The invisible blaster of seta alpha 9
Honourable mentions (thinks that can be classified as weapons but are not quite weapons)
~ Crashosaurus Mech
~ Moon buggy
((~ the deadly nerve pinch)) (not a weapon but where else am I supposed to put it?)
Tumblr media
Jupiter Jim and the gang
~ Leo owns Jupiter Jim action figures and has a poster from one of the Jupiter Jim movies hung up next to his bed (seen in smart Lair )
~ Mickey owns a Jupiter Jim plushy (seen in a chair next to Donnie in the episode‘Breaking Purple’ )
~ the Jupiter Jim movies are often considered cheap sci-if movie series, but it can be seen that their are many JJ fans out their, not just the Hamato gang
~ Donnie’s favourite character from the extended Jupiter Jim universe is Atomic Lass. He always dreamed about fighting crime with her in Uraniumville. He might even had (has) a crush on her flirting with mascot dressed as her (did he think it was really her? I don’t know I mean the thought for a second that she was dead after her head fell off, but he still talked to the person in costume as if they where the character.) ((imagine hyper fixating on fictional characters, ha!…. Wait, I do that….))
(((~ this is not a fact but rather a theory of mine, so please take this one with a grain of salt. Donnie used to have at least a small crush on Atomic Lass at least he had a small hyper fixation on her. We also know that he has a “Typ” as stated in ‘War and Pizza’ “you are so cute, but so mean! Why do I always go for your type?!” Could that mean that Atomic Lasses character is like that? A cute character that can act mean ? )))
~ The original Jupiter Jim actor is called Marcus Moncrief
^ him, being referred to as the original actor opens up the possibility that there may have been another actor portraying that character.
~ he is the Turtles favourite original JJ actor
~Splinter does not like Moncrief
~ Moncrief does not think highly of the Lu Jitsu Films
~ Aprils and Donnie’s favourite Jupiter Jim movie is “Pluto vacation IV”
~ Donnie always performs all the musical numbers when watching
~Raph always falls asleep while watching Pluto vacation IV, always crashing something with his head
~ Raph’s, Leo’s, and Mickey’s Favorit Jupiter Jim movie is “Jupiter Jim sails the seven galaxies”
~ Raph gets always stuck in a pirate accent after watching Seven galaxies
~ Leo an Mikey always argue during the movie, who gets to wear the captains helmet
~ In Jupiter Jim Ahoy, Leo mentioned that Jupiter Jim is like a father figure to him, I am not sure if he really means it though because splinter is standing right in front of him, it could be interpreted as a funny joke
~ the boys have been Jupiter Jim fans since they where little, they also had a a Jupiter Jim action figure which they used to repair the tea pot after it being destroyed in a game of sports ball
Tumblr media
(Okay Tumblr is not allowing me to put more pictures, just imagine there are more okay? )
~ the Bros used to own a mind condition collectors edition comic book of the 1000 Issue
~ it can be argued that Donnie modelled his hammer extension after the one Atomic Lass has, maybe he had the idea of an rocket reinforced hammer extension from her in the first place .
~ Raph’s undercover cosplay looks like a space suite with the same symbol JJ and Red Fox had/ have on their uniforms/costumes . This leads me to believe that the SS Starbold crew must wear this kind of symbol on their uniform as well meaning Raph is cosplaying as a crew member of the SS Starbold
~ And lastly, even though all of them (April included) are huge Jupiter Jim fans, Leo is said to be the Jupiter Jim super fan
I think after collecting all this information I can at least be considering the second biggest super fan, even though I am properly missing some things in my list.
Thanks for reading :3
(((And just in case you are wondering, my fic is called 'let's be friends' on Ao3)))

Krang Invasion
Ever since I saw the Rise movie, I always wanted to do the Clarity version, although due to certain circumstances I couldn't manage to do it, until now.
-------------------------------------------------------------
A little context:
When the Krang invasion began, Clarity was in the hidden city, along with April, Sunita and Cassandra. When they realized what was happening, they all went to help everyone and look for shelter.
Tumblr media
19 years old:
When the girls began to shelter everyone who managed to escape from the Krang, they noticed that Clarity's attitude had changed, becoming more reserved and somewhat distant. They wanted to appoint her as the leader of that small resistance, but she refused, so April took that position, next to Cassandra.
Clarity did not want to take any risk, she did not like the idea of being responsible for all those lives, she only wished she could protect them as a soldier.
Tumblr media
22 years old:
3 years passed since the invasion began. The reserves they had were beginning to run out, there was almost nothing. Clarity had taken the decision to go out to look for food, clothes or anything that could be useful. Before the search, she was attacked from behind by a Krang, wounding her in the abdomen and part of her left arm, causing her to lose it.
Just when she thought her life would end there, a certain turtle appeared to the rescue; it was Donatello. Seeing how serious her situation was, he took her to their base to heal her wounds. While Leo and Donnie healed her, Mikey and Raph went in search of April and all their resistance. They were not going to let them fight alone, when together they could be stronger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
35 years old
Since the two resistances were united, there was more hope of being able to defeat the Krang, although... that didn't make the pain and sadness disappear. Years ago, there was the loss of two important members of the resistance; Raphael Hamato and Cassandra Jones, who had sacrificed themselves to give the others time to escape and find a new base. Sadly, those most affected by the passing of both were Leo, Donnie, Mikey and Casey Jr. ....
Although Leo was in charge of the little orphan, Clarity was the one who took care of him when the boys had to go out or were busy. She did her best to keep everyone together, although it didn't always work, she had sworn to herself to keep Casey Jr. safe, and she did. Together with Donatello, they taught Casey how to fight and defend against the Krang over the years.
One day, when the base was under attack again, Clarity and Donnie were fighting the Krang while Leo, Mikey and April were pulling out all the survivors thanks to the portal Leo had opened. Seeing that everyone was safe, they waited for Donnie and Clarity so they could escape, but when both were on their way to the portal ..... Clarity had been wounded with a Krang weapon in her chest. Seeing this, Donnie tried to take her and save her, but they were more krangs getting closer.
With her last breath, Clarity declared her feelings to Donnie and that they would never give up, because she held out hope that this nightmare would one day end. Donnie did not want to leave her there, he kept in his mind that he could save her. Leo arrives to the two of them, noticing the scene, he knew that Clarity would not make it, but he was not going to let his twin brother stay there. Knowing that Donnie might hate him, he opens a portal under him and Donatello, transporting them to the new base... leaving Clarity in that terrible place.
-------------------------------------------
Well, for the moment this is all the information about this version of Clarity, I might make a mini comic about certain scenarios of this AU.
Here are some extra doodles and drawings I did a few weeks ago:

⭐️ pls tell me more about your fic pls it’s wonderful 🥹❤️
:D the fic in question
ahhh im so glad you like it!! thank you for giving me the opportunity to ramble about this fic haha. i have SO many emotions about casey jones jr and the future timeline turtles, im never getting over the tragedy of that movie opening. future mikey's wink as he tears open space and time. future leo's "it's not about me" and the way he physically throws casey through the portal. like!!! hello!!!
imo part of what makes the future timeline so tragic is that so much of the show before this point (especially s2) focused on the hamato motto of "anata wa hitori ja nai," even before the turtles actually learned about the hamato clan. none of them have ever been alone, and as part of the hamato clan, legacies of generations upon generations of mystic warriors, they never will be. except then the bad future timeline shows up, and. they're gone. the family is fractured, the turtles are dead, and the last survivor, casey jr, is sent back alone.
so, that's kind of a long way to say that the conception of "write our names in the wet concrete" came from me taking this tragedy and shoving anata wa hitori ja nai in its face. lol.
in the fic, the moment future mikey decides that hes not going to let future leo die is the moment of canon divergence from the movie. the reason he actually manages it is bc in that moment, mikey and all of the hamato spirits look at the last surviving members of their family and say, no. we refuse. the war might be lost, but we will ensure that no member of our clan will be left alone.
it's not just mikey at the end, here, throwing leo back along with casey. it's him and donnie and raph and april and splinter and karai and even oroku saki, every single hamato all at once, facing down the end of the world and choosing to save the last of their family whether they like it or not.
sorry future leo, you dont get a choice! but hey, at least casey isn't stuck in the past and cut off from everything he's ever known by himself, right? :3
the reason i set the fic as pre-show instead of at the movie is bc i really wanted to focus on casey jr's relationship with future leo, and what that might look like when they're forced to actually, like. live semi-regular lives instead of being tossed directly into a high-stakes mission. the looming specter of the krang invasion is a constant stressor, but they also have more immediate things to worry about for a change. like money! big rip to future leo, forgetting that was a thing.
and casey junior learning to live in a non-apocalyptic society is always fun haha. he's a semi-feral apocalypse child who's used to eating rats and leaves! writing his pov is an entertaining challenge, bc he only knows things about pre-apocalyptic society via snippets hes heard from older ppl/family stories, and he approaches the world through a very different lens as a result. he is definitely going to hunt an alley rat at some point and be like :D look theres so much meat on this!! and non-apocalypse survivors around him are like uhhh kiddo wtf. are you... are you seriously going to eat that.
casey, already roasting it over a fire: yes?? why would i not??
anyway, im going to cut myself off before i ramble about this fic forever and spoil future chapters (currently writing chapter 5 :D), but thank you so much for reading it!! im having a lot of fun with this au and i'm glad you are too ^.^
(feel free ask me anything about my fics!)

MM RaphDon - "Just say it!" - Topic: Homework
| My muse struggles with the truth...Send "Just say it!" And my muse will confess to something they don't really talk about. Bonus: specify a specific topic and that's what they will talk about!
It was surprisingly easy for Raphael to lift the kid clear off his feet, holding them by the fabric of their shift alone as he slammed their back roughly against the metal lockers behind them. The sound of metal being hit rung out through the empty hallway. Luckily for him it was empty at least. The human on the other hand? wasn't all too lucky on their own end as papers flew right out from their hands. Scattering across the the dull titles of the school hallway. Everyone should be in in class. Unless you happened to be ditching. But that wasn't the point here. Even if that was how Raphael seemed to find out what was going on here.
Well what he thought he knew was going on at least, Raphael knew his brother's handwriting well enough but it wasn't the give away it was the drawing that made him notice that was Donnie's work. He seen enough of their fan art over the years to recognize the style his brother drew in. Raphael already knew a big strong scary mutant? when throwing in some force was more than enough to get a human to tell him everything. Of course, Raph had simply assumed they stole Donnie's homework. It made sense Donnie was like the smartest person to ever just exist after all. This kid might have bullied it out from Donnie!
Course that wasn't what this kid was telling him happened. Raphael's scowl slowly unscrewed from the mess of words they were letting lose right now. That Donnie did the homework for him, something about him not being the only one even?
Tumblr media
"what?" Raphael pressed them in against the lockers just assuming they were lying or something here to save their ass from the beating he was going to dish out to them. But as they kept talking Raph had to admit it sounded possible. After all he and Mikey were guilty of the same, and Donnie? Never really turned them down. But when they did it they offered him stuff like the last slice of pizza, or giving up their placement for the line up when it came to bathroom use. Raph couldn't tell how many times he got stuck with a cold shower cause of it. He needed to get to the bottom of this, letting go of the kid so they fell to the ground. Unlike himself, Donnie would be in class. "Sorry Case I gotta look in to this." He says to his ditching partner at the time.
Vaguely recalling his twins schdeual he stormed out from the hallway right away. Leaving behind his friend and the other kid to stay behind in the aftermath.
Donnie loved science stuff, so of course it was one of the classes he mentioned most. Which is how Raphael knew to head off towards that section of the schools building. Nit all to sure what the truth here was. If that kid had stolen Donnies work or froced them into doing it. Raph would get Casey to hold them down well theu got well aqinted with his fists. Good old three knuckle shuffle if you will. Seeing how he only had the three fingers after all. This kid had to be lying why would Donnie be just doing it after all?
Standing outside their class room he was quick to lie and say he had to speak to his brother. Well that parent wasn't a lie but it wasn't due to the family emergency he claimed. He'd done this before and told Leo he wouldn't. But honestly who was more at fault Raph for ditching? Or Leo believing him? When Donnie finally comes out though Raphael wasn't all to sure how to bring this up. And Donnie had to get back to his class.
"Just spit it out"
"Are you gettin' bullied or something?" Raphael asks right away of course, that would earn some confusion in turn. "I saw this kid with your work ready to beat his ass for you but he said you did his homework for him?" Raphael states waiting for Donnie to tell him clearly the kid took his homework or froced him todo it for them even. "So I just wanna know if it just him or am I going on a tour to dish out some hits?"
However, before Raphael could even think about roping Casey in to help Donnie came clean and told the truth.
"Why the heck are you doing thier homework for Donnie?." As if he and Mikey weren't guilty. "Is this why you ain't sleeping much? Cause you're doing all this extra work? I get you wanted go school so bad but that can't be why your doing thier work right?" Raphael really didn't follow what was going on here. For a number of reason as he huffed out a breath if air he been holding in longer than need be. Before he grabbed Donnie by the hood of their purple pull over. "Fuck making this quick you are telling me whats going on Donnie right now."

Decided to post the last two chapters of The Teenage Mutant Phantom of the Opera early! Enjoy!
Chapter 8.
@daboyau
Donnie throws himself into gaining information on days that he doesn’t have performances.
He has to sneak into the Hidden City library in order to do since he got banned for having too many overdue books, but nonetheless he still does so.
His main focus is the theatre itself.
When he told Usagi that he wouldn’t fill him in until he had proof it wasn’t really because he wanted to be sure, he just knew what he’d say.
Donnie has grown very fond of Usagi in the time they’ve spent together. Telling him his friend is probably a crazy, revenge seeking homeless orphan might make him upset.
The costume getting messed up clued Donnie in on the fact that the glaring he’s been feeling aimed at him is probably Leo’s doing.
He doesn’t leave the theatre because he lives there.
That’s the most likely explanation anyways.
He’s watching them and clearly getting jealous that Usagi is able to interact with Donnie a lot more than he is with him.
Despite how sure he is about it all, Donnie still wants tangible evidence before he gets to work in getting Leo going back home with him.
On one of the days off from performing, he looks into the previous owners of the theatre. It’s a short list, just the person who built it.
It was built 13 years ago after the original building exploded.
A laboratory.
He can hardly believe what he’s reading.
It all makes perfect sense.
His father must have escaped from the lab with them and accidentally left Leo behind to be found and raised by the creator of the theatre.
It brings about the question of why it’s owned now by a renting company instead of Leo’s guardian.
The answer, as he finds, is that she died five years ago.
He feels like such a terrible person for being excited that Leo wouldn’t be taken away from some other family.
It makes it a lot easier to be able to bring him home.
The next things he looks into is the blueprint of the building. There’s several inconsistencies on it, areas that have more room than they should if nothing is built in there.
There has to be secret pathways or rooms that Leo’s been using to hide in while there’s people around.
He just needs to find them and get a picture of proof that someone lives there and he can tell Usagi everything.
Then, after that, Usagi can help sway Leo to stop acting absolutely insane and see reason.
If that doesn’t work then a cattle prod and a mutant turtle sized bag will also do the trick.
He’ll need to search for the rooms during performance days to be safe. He’s already trying to get rid of him when there’s people around, finding his secrets all alone might cause him to disappear.
There’s no way he can let that happen, he can just imagine the way Mikey would draw his missing posters instead of using a real photo.
It’s as sad of a thought as it is frustrating to know he’d avoid using technology.
Donnie starts searching before every performance while using his days off to study what Leo has done to other people in the past as the phantom.
This allows him to avoid falling backdrops, cut through floorboards, broken sharp props, and another sandbag.
That one seemed lazy considering he used that already.
He can feel the anger brewing behind the scenes of each of these attacks but it doesn’t deter him in the slightest.
It’s definitely been getting to Usagi though.
Every near miss has been building up his fears and suspicion.
He approaches him after a performance where Donnie almost got taken out by a pillar that fell towards him.
“Donnie, this is getting way too out of hand. I’m worried that you’re going to get really hurt.”
“You should stop worrying. I’ve dodged everything so far and I’m close to being able to tell you what I’ve found out.” Donnie smiles at him proudly.
Usagi frowns and holds onto his own arm.
“I think I know it already.”
“You do?” Donnie raise an eyebrow.
Usagi sighs.
“Leo is the phantom. He’s getting revenge because he thinks we both messed up things for him on purpose. I didn’t want to believe it, but it’s way too much of a coincidence that you’re being targeted. I don’t know why he isn’t coming after me too, but there’s no other suspects.”
Donnie realizes Usagi isn’t aware of either of either of their feelings towards him. That makes him feel a little better since he thought he was just purposely avoiding addressing it.
“Regardless of if that is true or not, I’m still fine no matter what the phantom does. I only need a little longer anyways to get my evidence.”
“No, I can’t let it go on like this. It’s not right. If he is doing this then he has to come back here sometime and when he does I’m going to tell him that if he doesn’t stop, we can’t be-“
Donnie quickly covers his mouth with his hand and leans in.
“Not here. Let’s go to Run of the Mill.”
Usagi stares at him in surprise until Donnie pulls himself away in embarrassment.
“I am…..never doing that again, but what I said still stands.”
Usagi is completely confused but leaves with Donnie anyways.
From up above, Leo is filled with a severe case of the Caine instinct.
At the restaurant, Usagi and Donnie sit across from each other while waiting for their pizzas.
“Okay, I’m going to need you to avoid saying anything bad about Leo or even considering leaving him alone while we’re at the theatre.”
“You think he was listening in?“
“I have no doubt at this point.”
Usagi crosses his arms over his chest.
“I can’t believe how wrong I was about him.”
“Look, if I’m not taking the murder attempts personally you shouldn’t either.”
“Why aren’t you?”
“Because as attempts on my life go his have been pretty tame.”
Usagi moves his arms, placing his elbows on the table and putting his hands over his mouth and nose almost like he’s praying.
“I’m stuck between asking why there have been ones before this out of politeness while also knowing how close both that barista and I were to it.”
Donnie’s face heats up slightly.
Cute but mean, how his heart betrays him.
“I’m going to just cut to the chase. You will mess up my plan to take my brother home if he thinks you hate him.”
Usagi moves his hands away and looks down in guilt.
“I don’t hate him. I just hate what he’s doing.”
“Frankly if I was alone for 5 years I probably would have done the same thing.”
Usagi’s eyes snap back up.
“Excuse me?”
Donnie’s eyes dart away.
“Did you ever notice that Hueso is a skeleton named bone?”
“Donnie!”
Donnie sighs and looks back at him.
“Okay okay, I’ll fill you in just a little. I’m still finding evidence to prove things, but here’s my speculation.“ He explains what he learned days ago.
Usagi messes with his hands awkwardly.
“I knew he lost someone, but I never thought…..if you’re right, then he needs help. He has to leave the theatre for that time happen.”
Donnie smirks.
“That’s exactly what I’ve been intending to make him do, as you you shouldn’t know by now. I believe I’m close.”
“Is there anything else I can do to help?”
“Once I find his room, Leo will no doubt come after me. He’ll be so angry that he’ll show himself again. I need him to be even angrier so he shows himself to everyone though.”
“Why?”
“It’ll back him into enough of a corner where the theatre isn’t safe anymore. He’ll be at the maximum amount of anger which will make him make mistakes. It’ll be the perfect time to strike.”
“Where do I come in with that plan?”
Donnie whispers his idea to him, making Usagi’s eyes widen.
“If….if that’s what I have to do to make sure you’re both okay, I will.”
Donnie smiles.
“I have high confidence it’ll work.”
Hueso places their pizzas on the table.
“Ugh, I still can’t believe you like pineapple pizza.” Donnie looks at Usagi’s order in disgust.
“I know you have pineapple scented chapstick!”
“There’s a huge difference between smell and texture.”
Usagi glances down at the squirming toppings on Donnie’s pizza.
“Right….”
They eat and talk together, then say goodbye when they leave the restaurant afterwards.
The day after next, Donnie presses his hands against the wall that the blueprint says should hold nothing.
Another day of performance is another opportunity.
He’s hoping to find some kind of crack or opening to get a grip on.
It’s possible that Leo never uses the actual latch to get in and just relies on his portals so it might be even less obvious.
“Come on…..what’s that thing Mikey says when he really wants something? Oh universe, if this is meant to be, please let me find how to open this door.”
Mikey always mentioned saying it out loud speaks it into existence and the meant to be part makes him feel better if it doesn’t happen.
Donnie remembers how often he’d be in the shrine room saying that phrase about finding their brother.
Ironic that it was Mikey’s doing that led him here.
As illogical as it might be that is also why he’s trying this method. If it worked witch something as unlikely as this then maybe-
His hand finally catches on something.
One point for the universe.
He slides the wall open to a pitch black room.
Creepy.
He pulls out his phone and turns on the flashlight before going inside.
It’s clear that he finally found the main room Leo has been using.
There’s plenty of furniture, a filled trash can, plenty of sheet music, and tons of play pages.
His light then shines on a wall and he freezes.
An entire wall of rabbit pictures that were drawn on to make them look like Usagi.
The situation is more critical than he previously thought.
Would he hurt Usagi?
He needs to get back before something happens.
First though, he rips off some of the rabbit photos and leaves the door open before rushing off back to Usagi.
“Did you find anything?” Usagi asks as he sees him.
“I definitely found…..something. He is for sure living here.”
“Then we do what we talked about.”
Donnie clicks his tongue.
“Agree, but….”
“But what?”
“I think you deserve to know, but before I show you, you have to promise to stay calm.”
“I promise.”
Donnie hesitantly hands over one of the pictures
Usagi takes it and his ears droop in a mix of fear and shock.
“N-Now I see why you said that.”
“I know this is messed up, but he’s not in a right state of mind.”
Usagi stares at the picture more before folding it up and leaving it on a nearby table.
“This…..just proves he needs help…..I’m going to need some time away from him when this is over though.”
“I don’t blame you. I’ll take care of him in the meanwhile.” Donnie insists.
Usagi takes a breath.
“Thank you. For everything. I don’t know what would have happened if you weren’t here. I really appreciate you, Donnie.”
Donnie’s heart beats fast, especially knowing what they’re about to do.
“I promise that nothing is going to happen to you as long as I’m around.”
Usagi smiles and holds out his hand.
“Does that means you’re ready?”
Donnie quickly wipes his palm on his pant leg and then takes his hand.
“Absolutely.”
They can both feel some sense of being watched with intent as they make their way together.
The opera goes on as normal until a scene that normally just ends with them holding each other takes a turn.
Audience members gasp as they see them kiss.
It takes another turn.
Leo drops down besides them and tackles Donnie to the ground.
“I’m going to make you wish you were never mutated.”
