Here’s a dump of all the references I’ve found. Know I’m missing a lot, and quite a few were found on other sites that didn’t give me the most precise info.

Good Morning! It is 8am on a Sunday! and I want to go back to sleep! but I have a train to catch at 9!

So, Birthdays!! I posted about it on Reddit like almost a year ago (the first thing i ever did on reddit, actually!) So I'll copy paste that and change some things because i think I have changed some things since.

So I started this because of my fic series One More New Direction and i went a bit inane due to, like, timelines. so i wanted to give everyone birthdays if they didn't already have them. (and obviously have a note of them all just in case they could be used in the plot)

Here is a screenshot from my timeline google sheets of all of the birthdays (ignore the OCs and the colour coding, it's just me trying to keep track of who is new and who is graduated, this is also why Roderick isn't in this, becasue in my fic he hasn't transfered yet (this is the year between S5a & 6) and Jane hasn't started highschool so that's why she's not on it) and I'll explain them (mostly S2 NDs) under the cut (my reddit comment amended, basically) 💛

I know I missed Blaine but... he's not in my fic as a ND member at all so i didn't give him a birthday just yet because i haven't needed to.

Puck: Aug 17th 1993 I choose Mark's actual birthday because Glee did that with Kurt so why not the other characters. - I see Puck as being the second oldest after Kurt, just based on vibes, so Mark's birthday fit here.

Rachel: Dec 18th 1994 This is her canon birthday. this means she turns 16 in S2 which makes her the youngest of her year group. I've headcanoned that she skipped a grade, or maybe her dad's started her in school a year earlier than everyone else because, well, it's Rachel.

Santana: Jan 12th 1994 Basically I used Naya's birthday. I know this messes up Finn's 'canon' birthday but bare with me.

Finn: Jan 15th 1994 I didn't use Finn's canon birthday because in S4 Sue says he's 19, like a lot, and I also couldn't find it anywhere but the Fandom Wiki. So his canon birthday doesn't work. Finn dies at 19 and if his birthday was the canon one of Aug 24th 1994 he wouldn't have been 19 when he died but 18. So I changed it and used Naya's birthday and what was said during S1's madona episode that Finn was 3 days younger to come up with Jan 15th.

Quinn: Feb 1st 1994 Basically I just looked up her birthday and there was a random thread on Fandom Wiki that stated this was her birthday so I rolled with it because it works with the timeline.

Britt: March 14th 1994 It's what it says on Fandom Wiki, but I don't remember it ever being said in canon. However it's also Pi day (3.14) so that's fun for the 'math genius'

Tina: Mar 28th 1995 A year younger than the others as she graduates S4 not S3. I was going to go with Jenna's birthday just because but apparently her and Harry (Mike) share the same birthday! So I had Mike have April 28th and moved Tina's up a month

Mike: Apr 28th 1994 See above I guess. It's Harry's birthday so I rolled with it. graduates S3

Sam: May 6th 1995 A year younger because he graduates S4. It's said in the prom episode that his birthday was a week before so I looked up when American's have prom (I'm english) and yeah. this was what I decided??? I can't remember why exactly I chose that date but I'm sticking with it because I can't change it in my fic now without messing stuff up. I maybe would change it to a week earlier so at the end of April.

Kurt: May 27th 1993 This is canon and makes Kurt the oldest in the club which is fun since Chris is the youngest of the main cast and it's also Chris's Birthday take away 3 years. My headcanon is that his mum and dad kept him back a year before starting school because he was so small or something OR that he missed too much school when his mom died and had to retake a year. I'm leaning towards the latter because that's a sadder backstory.

Artie: Jun 14th 1995 A year younger than everyone. again, I used the actor's birthday because I'm lazy and it fit.

Mercedes: Jul 10th 1994 I just see Mercedes having a summer birthday for some reason. IDK? literally just picked my mom's birthday.

And that's it for the main cast.

Here's the S3&4 newbies too, but it's mostly either random or the actor's birthday.

Unique: Aug 20th 1995 so she's in the year below Sam/Tina/Artie in my headcanon which is why she's not still at McKinley or highschool in S6. Alex's Newell's birthday.

Ryder: Sep 14th 1996 A year younger than Unique. A Sophomore in S4 (I think that may be said somewhere? or at least implied?) He could be a Freshman too, so 1997 or stick with '96 and have him kept back a year because of his dyslexia, but I decided against that in my story. Just a random date I picked because I didn't have anyone else in September.

Marley: Oct 4th 1996 Also a Sophomore in S4. (again I think that's said?) Melissa's birthday

Jake: Oct 17th 1997 Freshman in S4. Honestly, it's simply because Puck doesn't know him and if he was a Freshman in S3 than Puck would have maybe interacted with him? or at least known there was another Puckerman in the school and I don't think it's said anywhere that he's transfered or anything. so hence, a freshman... Jacob Artist's birthday.

Joe: Nov 12th 1994 completely random. In my head canon he's in the same year as Sam/Tina/Artie

Sugar: Feb 14th 1996 A year younger than Sam/Tina/Artie. I also just like the idea of her birthday being on Valentine's day, it kinda makes the whole Sugar Shack thing kinda sad in a 'noone would come if it was just for my birthday but! Valentines!!' way

Kitty: Feb 22 1997 Young enough to come back in S6 as a Senior (don't get me started on the confusion of that timeline) Random date.

I also headcanon the McCarthy twins as around late-1998/1999 (I picked 23rd May because Twins and Gemini! Only one based on astrology!) and in their sophomore year in S6. Same with Spencer

Rodderick ~ 1997 ish. I believe it's stated that he's a senior in S6? Same with Alistair??

Jane's a Freshman in S6 so a late-1999/2000 birthday.

and Myron is around November 2001 ish because he turns 13 in roughly November 2014... i think... again S6 timeline is insane.

Beth Harmon’s age / TQG’s timeline

I want to start this by saying that there are some mistakes regarding time passing in the show as she states her age in a known year. Something to be sure about Beth is that she always rounds her age up according to how many years old she'll be on her birthday at the end of the year, or so I figured while doing the math every time I located myself in time, her age was mentioned, and things did not add up.

Beth was born on November 2nd, 1948, as we can see on her Methuen Home file. She was admitted to the orphanage on July 25th, 1957, which would make her 8 years old, but the newspaper states she is already 9 (I figured they must have asked her). This is one day after the car accident since it is also stated Alice Harmon died "yesterday afternoon".

We don't know if Mr. Shaibel taught her chess in 1957 or 1958 (when she would be 8 or 9 for most of the year). When asked about it years after, Beth says during the interview with LIFE (with that woman who mentions apophenia) he taught her when she was eight, but in Moscow she said she was nine. We do know that he gives her the book on Chess openings in 1958 because she says she is nine years old and "will be ten in November".

When she meets the Wheatleys, she almost states she is 15 before Mrs. Deardorff glares at her to not contradict what she said (that she is 13) so she has more chances to get adopted. We come to know she is in fact 14 because the year is 1963 and the Kentucky State Championship tournament is held on October 20 to 22, 1963 which she wins before her fifteenth birthday.

The tournament in Cincinnati where she meets Benny Watts for the first time is also 1963 (as you can see in the vignette in the beginning of episode 3 and the tournament banner). She is most likely 15 already since the tournament is definitely held after October 25 (you can see in the chess magazine a tournament in Texas, Oct 26 and 27 after the one in Kentucky, and it goes chronologically between different cities, sometimes repeating dates).

It's not clear how to calculate how long Beth was learning Russian before Mexico City in 1966, but the magazine she was reading that motivated her into it stated that 'Vasily Borgov wins the title (of the USSR Chess Championship) again' and the article mentions 1962 champion Boris Spassky (in real life he won in December 1961, so I'm guessing you say 1962 champion to someone who won at the beginning of the year or the end of the year before. Since 1954 every USSR Chess Championship was held at the beginning of the year, mainly in Jan-Feb but Spassky won in the first year since then that it was in Nov-Dec), so it's at least (and most likely) early 1964 (Borgov would have won Dec 27th 1963 and Dec 20th 1962 the first time). Something very impressive about Borgov is that he probably held his title until late 1968 when Beth beats him, otherwise she would have shifted her focus to whoever managed to beat Borgov at least a little bit. Usually, there was some rotation of names of USSR champions and the two names with most titles (Botvinnik and Tal) won both 6 times (not in a row, the most you can see in a row is 2 times). So Borgov would have won every title from late 1962 to late 1967 (the late 1968 one starts on the 30th of December so he would have that after the Moscow Invitational) which amounts to 6 of them and it's a given that he will win it a seventh time. It's possible however that he won some of them in rotation with (an)other name(s) and the show chose not to mention it to avoid needless complications regarding the rivalry between Beth and Borgov.

I would have guessed it's 1964 when Beth mentions her desire to compete in the US Open Championship "next month" for the first time to the girls from her school at that reunion in one of their houses (her bangs are longer but her hair not that much) but we know she stayed out of it until 1966 where she tells Townes she missed the one last year because her mother got sick (she had even paid the fee already), so the encounter of the Apple Pi girls was most likely early 1965 (if the tournament is held in the same period every year) since it's unclear why she would miss 2 years in a row. In any case, there is a time jump to 1966 when she is 17 years old with her hair changed and far more glamorous and experienced. This is where she loses a game for the first time since she started competing (as stated in a newspaper in Mr. Shaibel's mural, or so I've been told) in her game against Benny Watts, and becomes US Open Co-Champion. This is in the first semester of 1966 because she graduates 2 weeks before going to Mexico City in the same year (as far as I know the school year in the US ends before summer vacations). I have no idea how the US education system works (especially not in 1966), I was under the impression there were 4 years of high school, but Beth did it from mid to late 1963 to 1966, so I don't know, maybe she was already in her second year after the Methuen Home education, or she skipped a year.

The Mexico City invitational is in the summer of 1966 and she is correctly stated by the speaker to be 17 years old. She loses to Borgov for the first time and Alma dies on the final day, making her an orphan again. As soon as she gets home, Harry Beltik phones her and comes by her house, stating that it's been 5 years since she beat him (and Beth agrees), but we can all count and attest that it has in fact not even been 3 full years. The calendar by the phone shows the month of June which is when they left and probably still is, depending on how long it took her to arrange Alma's funeral. After a while, right before Harry moves out of the house, we see her read an issue of Chess Review of August.

In 1967 Beth goes to the US Championship invitational tournament in Ohio and she's 18 years old (which embarrassingly took me a while to notice that it's not US Open Championship so it's not as high funded as the one in Vegas, I wondered about that for a while sknkjndkjsn). It lasts 4-5 days and after she wins, Benny invites her to New York to train during the 5 weeks she has before going to Paris, which is either in early spring or late fall since she states she heard "it's pretty cold there in that time of the year". I would guess it's fall because of the leaves of a tree beginning to turn brown when Beth arrives in Ohio. Worth to notice that Benny comments that if she keeps drinking that way she'll end up washed up by the time she's 21, so even though it's been more than a year since Harry and Beth commented "its been 5 years" since she was "15" and beat him (which would wrongly make her 21 by now), the show knows at least that she's not 21 yet (don’t know how she can so easily buy alcohol as a 17-19 year old, but she does).

It's three weeks later when Wexler, Levertov, and Cleo go by Benny's apartment and Beth progressed enough to defeat the first 2 and Benny at speed chess multiple times simultaneously (we know this because she asks Cleo if she'll be in Paris in 2 weeks). The Grand Prix invitational tournament in Paris happens 5 weeks after Ohio and lasts 6 days. By then, Beth is either very close to being 19 or already is. When she arrives, her hair is already in a longer style. Not sure how that works, it's probably an extension, I guess.

During Beth's downward spiral after Paris, she is scheduled to compete at the 1968 Kentucky State Championship Tournament. We can only guess it's not following the same dates as before (the first one she won was in October 1963) because she mentions to Jolene later she's supposed to go to Russia "at the end of the year". She ends up walking out of the tournament after talking with Harry and likely loses the state crown of that year for nonattendance.

When she cuts ties with the Christian Crusade, she already went to a tournament in San Francisco but opted not to go on the Tonight Show she was telling Jolene about before the minor time jump after Mr. Shaibel’s funeral. When she gets to Moscow it's probably the fall of 1968 judging from the fact that there is no snow (and again, the trees with brown leaves). She may or may not already be 20 years old. When Luchenko asks her how old she is, she begins saying "I'm twenty-" but is interrupted. Portuguese subtitles interpreted it as if she was going to say she's twenty-something, but she could simply say "I'm twenty years old" or "I'm twenty this November" so this might not be a mistake. Fact is, Beth Harmon is barely twenty years old when she defeats Vasily Borgov, the world champion, possibly getting her International Grandmaster title.

Longest running UK games magazines: 2021 update #2

*ding dong dong ding* A body has been discovered! So it’s time to update this list again (here’s the last one). As before, the list counts print magazines with at least 10 years of publication and continuous issue numbers. Digital-only continuations, like with Play post-269, don’t count.

The reason for this update is the discontinuation of Official PlayStation Magazine - the world’s last officially licensed console magazine, as far as I know. Tragically, it came one issue short of matching Official Xbox Magazine, but unlike its Microsoft counterpart it has been replaced. The new magazine is called Play, which starts from issue 1 and has the exact same team behind it as the old official magazine. Confusingly, it has nothing to do with the Play formerly published by Paragon/Highbury/Imagine/Future that ran from 1995-2016 in print (and up to 2018 digitally), though 2021-Play’s editor Ian Dean did previously work on that magazine.

No positions have actually changed, though Edge, PC Gamer and Retro Gamer all continue their mighty runs as the only titles in this list still in publication. Along with Play and Wireframe, they represent the last of the UK’s traditional gaming magazines. Additionally, there are kid-focused magazines including dedicated Minecraft and Fortnite titles, and multiformat magazine 110% Gaming.

What Is Secret Language?

Which Are The Best Combinations For You?

Conventional sun sign astrology has maintained that in general the best signs for you are ones that are trine to your sun sign (120 degrees away from your sign in the zodiac). In fact, this means that the signs that are of the same element as yours. In other words, if you are a Taurus (an earth sign), things should go well with Virgo and Capricorn, the other two earth signs. Similarly, all three water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces), the three air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), and the three fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) are recommended to each other. Although this theory makes sense, it does not always work in practice, particularly when it comes to sustaining interest over a long period of time. In fact, it often seems that the best combinations are ones that sun sign astrology rarely suggests: the two signs on either side of and the opposite of yours. How The Relationships Are Revealed

Four primary but different tools were used to create the relationships profiles or combinations. The first was to draw a bead on what the relationship between two people is all about, its main energies or focus. This was crafted based on a traditional astrological tool called “the composite chart”, a fascination method propounded and endorsed by astrologer Robert Hand. It involves synthesis, in which a combination horoscope is made from the two originals. This composite chart is built up from a series of midpoints between the planets of the two individual charts. The composite or midpoint method creates a new chart for the relationship itself; it is viewed asa a new entity, with its own character, strengths and weaknesses: a synergy, if you will, of each person’s traits. Also employed was another traditional astrological tool called synastry. This second method involves examining both partners’ individual characteristics and comparing them point by point for compatibility. Thus we go from viewing the relationship as a discrete entity in itself to focusing on the individuals and their interaction. The third method used was to create an imaginary psychodrama, in which hypothetical individuals from two periods were allowed to interact. For example, by placing a theoretical prototype of a Gemini II and Scorpio III in a variety of situations (domestic, professional, intimate, etc.), their interaction could be viewed and studied psychologically. Finally, the biographical as well as personal information about well known couples and those personally known to the authors provided a reliable source of insight and most interesting observations. The Five Relationship Categories

Love

Under this category are included intimate relationships ranging from platonic to sexual in nature. It should be noted that love means different things to different people. Yet to call a mother-son relationship, a sibling matchup or a friendship a love relationship does not seem appropriate. Therefore, love is used as the name of this category, without implying in any way that it lays claim to the emotion exclusively. Traditionally, a love affair is considered by psychologists as an entity limited in duration and more likely than not to eventually disintegrate, perhaps due to a lack of social commitment, involvement and support. These relationships tend to be characterized by an emotional intensity that may be difficult to sustain and an absence of reality-based thinking on the part of the partners. Many love relationships are kept hidden because of fear of disapproval or rejection, often familial in nature. The fact that such relationships tend not to have a realistic basis does not make them less likely to occur; on the contrary, it is often the incongruous and unimaginable that precipitates them taking place. Sexual attraction is discussed in this category for the most part. Yet romantic feelings are not in any way restricted to the erotic, and some romance can manifest itself in many of the personlogy combinations that have little to do with physicality. In most love relationships, psychological projection, replaying scripts from childhood, acting out, and a whole host of emotions including jealousy, anger, a desire to dominate and control, nurturing and protective impulses, violence, narcissism, idolatry and even worship struggle for the ascendancy. Maddening, exalting, thrilling, frustrating, the promise of love continues to drive human beings into these situations in their search for the perfect partner.

Marriage

In an age in which over half the marriages end in divorce, it is puzzling why so many people still get married. What is even more puzzling is why they take the oath to love each other exclusively in the light of statistics of infidelity. Yet marriage is a powerful social institution and the raising of children within the conjugal family unit is still the widely accepted norm. The Secret Language Of Relationships considers that the question of whether two people are suited for one another maritally is of vital importance, particularly if children are to be involved. Moreover, it cannot be assumed that love is always the main motivating factor in marriage or the one that holds such units together. Friendship

Week of Acceptance people often derive inspiration and strength from Week of the Literalist individuals, who will sometimes have preceded them down the road they are traveling; but the benefits they receive from the relationship may become habituating, and their reliance on their partner can become a bad case of overdependency. Somewhat paradoxically, they will be able to turn to Week of the Literalist people’s wisdom to help them in their struggle for autonomy within the relationship. Week of the Literalist individuals, too, have much to learn here, though their lessons will be more absorbed than struggled over. In their own way, they can be quite rigid, and they could learn something from Week of Acceptance persons about the freedom they might find by accepting things as they are and moving on. Maintaining a kind of dynamic equilibrium of feeling will be a principal challenge here. 18 Sept- 26 Dec Saturn finally goes direct!!! The new structure of life unveils from now to December in an area of our life where we would are experiencing the biggest restructuring & karmic release of our life time

Saturn has been retrograde since 29 April in the sign it rules Capricorn. Saturn rules the structural elements of our life, earth & administration. It gives us the perseverance to create the very foundations of our existence - our boundaries, our rules, our career, our body, building blocks of our life that let us function effectively & bring our talents our soul to material world.

During the retrograde period Saturn holds up external launch of new structure of our life cause it hits resistance within our inner life which if not removed won’t allow us to live that external reality with full potency & success. So last 4-5 months has been period of internal restructuring, frustration, resentment, arrested growth but at the same time rebuilding of a new rule book, warding out things / attitudes / people which are obstacles to our ability to take on this new responsibility & opportunity of new structure of our life. Saturn in retrograde stage breaks down our ego & sometimes negativity which is accumulated which keeps us away from assimilating our ideal with material. Unknowingly in past few months we have created a new code of conduct, a new unsaid boundary of what we would or would not accept going forward in our life.

That’s the thing with Saturn - a lot is unsaid & understated - yet without its work we wouldn’t accomplish anything in material or spiritual world as it creates a mountain of persistence within us so doing the requisite work for accomplishing what we need becomes part of our DNA.

In Hindu mythology Saturn is represented as Kurma, tortoise - an incarnation of Lord Vishnu (the creator), who lifted the mountain so Gods could churn the ocean to retrieve the usefulness - usefulness is born due to work we do under the influence of Saturn - so past four months have been our own individual process of creating inner strength to lift up our own mountains.

And now with Saturn going direct we have a lift off. It’s time to lift that mountain so usefulness is birthed. As Saturn is in Capricorn no matter where you are lifting your mountain it would have influence of solidifying your professional foundations, your foundations as a leader of whatever domain you might be looking to be the lead on - efficiency is birthed - core strength is born to be the kind of leader of our personal or professional life that knows when to say no and draw healthy boundaries. The leader who knows what to choose, what to Detox, what to move away from as it doesn’t have longevity & to move to what has grounding to survive the next 30 years of our evolution which we are moving towards.

Saturn will retrace the path it traversed since 29 April from now to Christmas - making visible changes in framework of our life to reflect the inner re-engineering it has done in last four months. Imagine last four months as you going through process of rewriting the rules of your life - what profession, life commitment to whom, what to say yes to what not to when it comes to responsibilities, what you need for your material growth & Stability - imagine now that rule book being implemented. The theory merging with action till December. As soon as Saturn is done with this journey we would have a Solar eclipse on 26 Dec’19 prompting us - your new life is ready now to be lived - it becomes our new reality.

Saturn churning turning direct is subtle as is the planet itself but its gifts are real, material, Long lasting - this is about getting what we need & it might come in forms different from what we want. Saturn is like a responsible parent - it knows well to give you time to adjust to what it’s about to unfold as your new path which it was doing in last four months - but it also knows well to also give you what you truly need & what’s right for you. Cause sometimes what we want is not what we need. Hence the delay, hence the need of time, hence the retrograde but that’s why what’s created gives benefits for a life time.

Harvey Weinstein now settles for the persona of a frail man, beaten down by society and the so-called “feminazis”, who hurl at him with insults. From “MeToo” hashtags, to op-ed articles, and swear-word filled rants (as actress Zoe Stuckless did when she saw him at a rising actors event). While #MeToo has allowed millions of victims of sexual abuse to stand together and connect in a place of solidarity, others believe that the #MeToo movement has given rise to some imaginary larger-than-life mob of feminists, now loose from patriarchal shackles and preying on undeserving men. In fact, it is this idea that Weinstein, and many other rapists before him, such as Bill Cosby and Jeffrey Epstein, use to pander sympathy from those who don’t care to have an opinion, don’t want to be associated with the word “feminism”, or are skeptical about rape accusations.

This is exactly where our culture has gone wrong.

A close look into our country’s history and its patriarchal values reveals the truth of our system. Even as early as the 17th century, Lord Matthew Hale, a judge in England, warned jurors that rape charges are “accusations easily made and hard to prove and harder to be defended by the party accused”. He also advised that the victim’s testimony should be cautiously examined. In the past few years, it has become clear that this same sentiment has been passed through the legislative branch, cementing in our culture as time passes. Harvey Weinstein, after being accused by over 80 women, is still on trial and may not even go to prison. Bill Cosby was finally imprisoned after more than 60 women came forward with allegations of abuse and harassment. Christine Blasey Ford continually faces death threats while her rapist, Brett Kavanaugh, is now a judge in the highest court in the land. The case of Jeffrey Epstein, which describes allegations against a man who sexually assaulted more than a hundred underage girls through a network of abuse and power-dynamics, was dropped after Epstein’s supposed suicide while in jail. Brock Turner, who raped his unconscious victim during a party, was released after serving half of his six-month sentence. If anything, these instances blare the message “Don’t report your rape!”.

Throughout our country’s history, rape has rarely been deeply investigated, prosecuted or punished. Sexual assault is joked about. It is a crime thrown to the side when many voters make decisions on what candidate to vote for. It is almost easy to get away with. Out of every 1000 instances of rape, 13 get referred to a prosecutor and only 7 cases lead to a felony conviction. Last year, more than 20,000 women decided not to proceed with a rape investigation.

The way that rape is treated in this country, and in most other countries, is despicable. If a victim wants to get a rape kit done, they must not wash, eat, drink, change clothes, or clean up any mess. They must provide every possible piece of evidence proving that the rape wasn’t consensual. In most cases, the victim is thrown questions like “What were you wearing?” “Were you drinking?” “What is your relationship with your accuser?” “How often do you have sex?” and other questions. Victims are forced to relive their nightmares and share intimate details of their sexual and personal lives, as well as removing their veil of privacy. Not to mention, the trauma that comes with speaking out, places an almost unbearable mental load on the accuser. One of Cristine Blasey Ford's most powerful quotes echoes this sentiment exactly: “Apart from the assault itself, these last couple of weeks have been the hardest of my life. I have had to relive my trauma in front of the entire world.”

Rape culture, in essence, tells people to not be raped instead of teaching people to not rape. It manifests in victim-blaming, normalizing sexual violence, glossing over sexual assault with terms like “sexual misconduct” and through the hyper sexualizing of women and girls. If we are to truly revolutionize our system, we must start by believing and supporting victims, standing in solidarity with those who speak out and those who are shouldering their burden alone, calling out rape culture, and protesting fervently against a legal system that doesn’t do justice to survivors of rape and sexual assault.
