[Arcane preference]reacting to their s/o calling them husband/wife for the first time
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve finished the first chapter of the long fic about Universe 7 (Anytime it rains). As soon as my second beta reader gives me the okay, I’ll post it. While I wait, I’ve written the first headcanon (out of three I’m definitely planning to write and post in the next few days) and picked up the drawing of Steb I’d left unfinished. I’m slow, as usual, but English isn’t my first language, and I’m juggling a lot of things at once. Enjoy!

Jayce:
-This man is planning to put a ring on your finger as soon as possible, okay? -Between the academy, public appearances, and both theoretical and practical studies, there isn’t a single moment when he’s really in the right mindset to bring up the topic -The worst part is that, deep down, he’s terrified of putting pressure on you -That’s why, the first time he hears you refer to him as “my husband” during a gala with noble families, he almost chokes -He has to gather all his strength not to grab the interlocutor by the shoulders and ask if they also heard you say that word -He’ll try to keep his composure, maybe responding to your remark with, “Yes, exactly. Her husband really did say/do/design that.”
Viktor:
-It’s not a thought he’s ever really entertained; it never crossed his mind -Part of it is that science is his priority, and part of it is that marriage doesn’t seem like something meant for people like him, -The first time you call him “your husband”, that thought suddenly becomes real in his head, and he can’t help but lean against a wall and wait for the other person to leave -“So, I’m your husband now, huh? Mmm… I don’t mind, a bit pretentious, though…” he jokes, making you roll your eyes -Now, more than ever, he has no idea what to do. He’ll give you a bronze ring from a machine he’s building -“Until I can get one worthy of you.”
Ekko:
-Yes -That’s it -The end -Okay, seriously. The idea of being certain that something will last forever is probably his greatest wish -The first time you call him your husband, he doesn’t see it coming -“Wait, you’re married?” -“I was talking about you, Ekko.” -The moment you say it, he points to his chest, you see his lip tremble slightly, and his eyes grow shinier -He won’t stop talking about it for a week, and at least once a day, he’ll ask if you still want to marry him, if you’re sure, if you love him -No rings before S2; the promise is made by drawing something for each other on your masks and clothes -After S2, he still can’t afford a ring, but now that life is more stable, he can start thinking about a more traditional gift, like a piece of jewelry
Vander:
-This man is ravenous for any family role you might offer him—fiancé, father, husband. Anything goes -The first time you call him “husband”, he plays it cool but will seize the first opportunity to return the favor by telling a customer you’re married -As soon as he can, he’ll squeeze your hand, even under the counter -The idea of being married and having a complete family is everything he’s ever wanted -He won’t stop calling you “my beautiful wife/husband” from that moment on.
-You said it first; you can’t take it back. Now you have to get married
Silco (old man):
-This man’s only sin is loving too much, but I’ll save that reflection for another post -Having no ties other than his illegitimate daughter doesn’t make him someone who’s particularly keen on formalities -The first time you call him “your husband” is in front of Sevika, and he slowly turns to look at you, while she slowly turns to look at him -“Did I... miss something?” Sevika asks, but he doesn’t reply, still perplexed, before glancing at her and saying, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” -He’s relieved but doesn’t show it. He can’t afford to just yet -As soon as he confirms you were serious, your name will be flamboyantly forgotten—he’ll constantly refer to you as “my wife/husband”
Silco (young):
-The man who survives on love -The first time you call him your husband is in front of Vander, and while Vander bursts out laughing, Silco chokes on his drink -“Are you serious?” He’s so happy that his pale iris are completely swallowed by his dilated pupils -He grabs a pen and draws a ring around your finger -To his credit, he works in a mine, so it’s hard to do better than that, but it becomes the goal that keeps him going -Completely focused on family, the future, and anything that sees the two of you together and happy
Steb:
-The first time you call him your husband is at a dinner among enforcer families, and being mute doesn’t stop him from stealing the spotlight -He whips around, blinking slowly with only his third eyelid in a gesture of confusion -When he’s 100% sure he understood what you said, his eyes widen, the small membranes under his eyes flutter madly, and even the barely visible gills near his jaw gasp for a moment -Someone says, “I didn’t know you were married,” and he immediately nods enthusiastically, not giving you time to take it back -Within 48 hours, he’ll have the ring ready
Jinx:
-The first time you call her “your wife”, she freezes -“What did you just call me?” -She’s used to being a little sister, a big sister, a daughter—she’d never thought she could be a wife. Family ties aren’t chosen, but the idea that someone would want her in their life so much they’d marry her feels incredible -“You want to marry me? Really? Why?” -She bursts into tears, and it’ll take at least 24 hours of cuddling in bed to calm her down -After that, she’ll run to her father to announce that she’s now a married woman
Vi:
-She might not be Silco and/or Vander’s blood daughter, but she’s inherited their deep desire for family -From her family’s tragic fate to Vander’s, she’s always seen family as the ultimate aspiration -When you call her “your wife” for the first time, she doesn’t notice right away, but a full minute later, she whirls around to look at you, as if to ask for confirmation -“Say it again.” -“...You need to buy bread?” -“No, all of it.” -“My wife needs to go buy bread.” -“Again.”
-"My... wife?"
-"Again"
Caitlyn:
-Has she thought about it? Yes -Was she planning to act on it? Not exactly -Caitlyn struggles with emotions and feelings, which is why she hesitates and takes her time -But when you first call her “your wife”, her brain completely shuts off—she just stares at you, unable to hear a single word being said -If you or someone else asks her a question, she’ll snap out of it and respond, -“My wife/husband said everything.” Even if it makes no sense as an answer, making you laugh and leaving the other person baffled
Mel:
-Not a single flicker of surprise—the first time you call her “your wife”, she remains completely composed -“So, I’m your wife?” she asks as soon as you’re in private, approaching you like a feline. You can almost hear the purr in her voice -She’s amused but also intrigued by whatever game you’re playing -The idea of marriage is complicated for her—on one hand, it feels like it would limit her freedom to act, while on the other, unresolved family issues seem to devour her at the mere thought of starting a new cycle -She’ll tell you to go ahead, to get married, but she’ll also ask for time -In the meantime, though, she’ll start using the term “husband/wife” with you—she likes the way it rolls off her tongue
Sevika:
-Between the work she does, the environment she lives in, and all the interesting circumstances of her life, marriage has never been on her radar -Not to mention that in Zaun, it’s not exactly a common practice—people just move in together and build families when they can, without much fuss over formalities or bureaucracy -The first time it happens, she’s playing cards with the other goons, and you casually ask if “your wife is winning” -Her first reaction isn’t even hers—it’s the others’. Dustin, the blond goon with the lazy eye, almost starts crying, embarrassing her -Don’t worry, she’ll make you pay for it at home -She won’t ask to formalize anything, but in true Zaunite fashion, she’ll consider you married, plain and simple

He was never addicted to anything or anyone. Not once, and it won’t change — that’s what he thought. If someone had told him that he’s in the wrong, he would have laughed it all off.
James Barnes — most feared mobster in town — would never be addicted to another person. He’s feared; he’s respected by everyone. The mobster has no soft spot; otherwise, he has a spot that could be attacked without him having control over it.
Little did he know that one day, as he walked through the streets, he would ‘meet’ that girl that’s going to change everything. Little did he know that he would learn how addicted even the most feared mobster in town can be.
But there he was, sitting in the small coffee shop in the corner by the window and staring at the coffee in front of him. After he found out where you’re working, he couldn’t help but appear in the coffee shop every day just to sit there and watch you your whole shift.
James came to the shop when you opened it in the morning, and he didn’t leave unless your shift was over and you were home safe. He did that over two weeks now, his obsession becoming worse with every day.
He was so close to you, almost able to touch you. But he just couldn’t — not yet. You were the first woman who didn’t freak out around him. Of course, you looked at him with a careful, slightly curious expression first, but you were always offering him a soft smile.
So he was sitting at his place once again, the third cup of coffee in front of him as he watched you make some more coffee. You were just as sweet as the food and drinks you offer, except his one. And sometimes he wasn’t sure if you weren’t too sweet for him.
He listened to the conversation you had with your coworkers or with some of the visitors in the sweet little shop. You had a sweet tooth, loving everything that was with caramel and chocolate. While Bucky liked his coffee black, he liked meat over sweets — but still, he would rather eat sweets for every meal instead of letting you out of his sight.
James knows that you had good taste; you were always doing the decoration. It looked aesthetic, perfect. Just like he loved it too, and he was sure the two of you would be perfectly fine to decorate his house for every celebration and every season.
“Sir, do you need anything?” You asked him softly; his ocean blue eyes shoot up to meet yours, and he smiles softly. Your voice was like the most beautiful melody he has ever heard.
“No, thank you,” he said, looking at his coffee for a second before his eyes met yours once again. James' stare was intense, almost like he wanted to look deep into your soul, reading all your deepest desires and secrets.
You nodded and turned around just in the right moment when the small bell above the door rang. A smile creeped onto your face as the small frame of a girl rushed into the little coffee shop. Her giggles echoed through the room the moment she placed one of her little feet in the coffee shop.
“Mommmmmmy!” She giggled as she ran in your direction. James' eyes widened as he noticed the name she called you. You were having a daughter; why didn’t he know it before? Maybe because he focused more on watching you.
However, his eyes were then on the little girl in front of you. Her little fingers were gripping your thigh, and she smiled up at you. James noticed that she had the same eyes you had; her smile was just as prominent and soft as yours, and he looked pretty much like you.
“Hey, my sweet plum,” you cooed, running your fingers through her soft hair. “How was it at your grandparents?”
“Granny said they have an appointment, important, so they just let me out here, but we had lots of fun!” She nodded and grinned, then her face turned toward James, and she smirked even wider. “Hiiiiii!”
Your eyes widened immediately, and you placed your hand on her head to turn it away from the man. She wiggled out of your grip and grinned at James once again. A smug grin crossed his face as he watched the small girl.
“Hi,” James replied. His blue orbs roamed over her face and up your body until he reached your face. “Don’t worry, I won’t bite.”
You chuckled softly, nodding with a soft sigh. Your daughter walked closer to him, climbing onto the chair next to him until she was sitting on her knees. The girl placed her small arms on the table and leaned over. She tilted her head up and grinned at him. James felt like he’s looking at the younger version of you, and it made him go crazy.
He just wanted to take you both home and make sure that he could protect the two of them.
“Who you?” She asked. Her small fingers tapped on the surface of the table like she was the boss, and James had to answer her. He loved her attitude already; this girl was his little princess, and neither of you knew it just yet.
“My name is James, but you can call me Bucky. Who are you, little girl?” Bucky asked her, his voice sounding rough but still soft. You shivered, watching the scene in front of you. Since her dad left the two of you for another woman, you never had someone who interacted with your little girl like she was the sweet little princess she was.
But James looked at her like she’s his own daughter, and he didn’t even know her. Your heart fluttered, and warmth spread through your body.
“I’m plum; that’s what my mommy always calls me because I do love plums,” she smiled and giggled then as she turned toward you. “Do you have plums for me, mommy?”
You chuckled. “Yes, but I have to change and end my shift before. Can you come with me?” You asked, but your daughter shakes her head.
“No, I have sooo many questions,” she pouted. Her puppy dog expression made your heart melt, and you had such a hard time saying ‘no’ to her.
“I will take care of her until ya back here,” James said, looking up at you. He still gave you the opportunity to say ‘no’ but you nodded. There were enough people around who wouldn’t let him leave the coffee shop with your daughter. Plus, he may have been a mobster, but he wouldn’t do anything to someone who didn’t do anything wrong or needed to pay for a debt.
You sighed and chuckled, turning around to change your outfit and get your daughter's favorite food — plums. While you changed your outfit, James and Plum talked — or your daughter talked, and he listened to her with a soft expression.
His eyes never left hers, and when she threw her small arms around to show him how big the blackboard in kindergarten is, he instinctively placed his hand against the corner of the table so she wouldn’t hit herself.
“Be careful there, darlin’” he chuckled and helped her sit down straight again. “Don’t want ya to get hurt.”
And then she threw a lot of questions at him. And James answered everything honestly, or at least as best as he could. Because when it came to his profession, he didn’t tell her that he was a monster — for her, he was a businessman now, which wasn’t completely wrong.
When you came back to the table, they still sat there, talking about whatever. James' eyes were immediately on you as you walked around the corner, and he sighed softly when you walked closer, and he was able to smell the sweet scent of your perfume.
“Mommy! He said he’s a businessman, and he said he has a big pool!” Plum said excitedly and pointed with her small hands at Bucky. “Can we visit him, please?”
The puppy dog eyes once again, and how could someone deny them, but you couldn’t say yes without knowing or even asking James. Plus, he was still a mobster, and while you knew what that meant, your daughter didn’t.
“Sweets, it would be fun, but we don’t know him, and he’s a busy man, so don’t you think we should go home now?” You tried, voice soft, and you brought your hand to her head, stroking her hair softly. While you moved your hand down to the small of her back to push her from the chair and get her home, the brown-haired man grinned at you.
“Not too busy for ya, babydoll. Now knowing me now doesn’t mean you can’t get to know me, babydoll,” James smirked and got up as well. He placed a few dollars on the table and took his jacket from the side. “How about I ask you out, this little princess here, and I would agree, so it’s only you who has to agree.”
While your daughter watched you with the sweetest expression, James didn’t make it much easier for you with the soft smile and the nickname he just gave you.
No one treated you like that before; no one treated your daughter like that before. And for just a moment you forgot about his profession. But only for a moment.
“M-James… you’re… I don’t think people would like to see someone like me with someone fancy like you…” You mumbled, looking down while you played with your daughter's hair.
“Someone like you? Someone who’s always smiling like the world belongs to her? Someone who’s nice and can make the sun shine even on rainy days? Someone like you, who appreciates when she would get just a thank you instead of a tip?” He asked, looking thoughtful for a split second.
You just opened your mouth when you noticed that he had another thought. One you shouldn’t interrupt because he wasn’t finished with whatever he was about to say.
“I’m also just a human, and even though I’m rough and fearful. I just discovered that a woman I don’t even know became my soft spot. Please, give me the chance to get to know you, to let me love you — to let me love this sweet little girl — because I already do,” he continued, and you giggled softly.
You really didn’t mean to giggle, but he was just so adorable when he started to confess what’s going on in his mind. And suddenly it made all sense why he was in the coffee shop whenever you were working there.
Little did he know that you’re not just his soft spot, but that his actions, his daily smiles, and his softness toward you made you feel things you hadn’t felt in a long time. And seeing him acting so soft and lovely around your daughter — it makes you want to get to know him, to let him love the two of you. To give him the love he offers to you as well.
“Okay,” you mumbled and nodded. James' eyes widened, and he looked at you with an intense stare. He didn’t know if that okay was a yes. But his heart started to beat faster already, and he shifted slightly.
“So… is that a… a yes?” He asked and cursed himself for sounding so out of breath. But he just couldn’t help himself; he’s feeling like he needs you like he needs air.
“Yes, it’s a yes. I would love to get to know you better,” you grinned. Your daughter was already on her way out of the coffee shop toward Bucky’s car — he explained where he parked it and what it looked like to her.
“So… We’re going to mine; she can go into the pool and watch all the movies she wants while I cook for us, and we can get to know one another." You nodded once again. Bucky’s big hand placed itself in your back, and he led you out of the small coffee shop and into the freezy, autumn air.
“Let’s see if she still remembers what I said when I explained where the car is parked,” Bucky chuckled as he watched your daughter walking toward his car. Your heart is beating faster, and you feel warmth spreading through your body.
He has watched you for a while now, but he wasn't the only one who watched the other one. You studied him just as much as he studied you. And finally he asked you out — what you thought he would only do in your dreams — but luckily this was not just an amazing dream; this was Bucky really asking you and your daughter out.
“Lasagna?” You asked, watching him. His eyes roamed over your face, and he smirked. They showed nothing but softness and love, and he may have been the most feared mobster in town, but he was so much more. He was Bucky Barnes, a sweet and lovely man who knew exactly how to treat a woman right.
“Definitely lasagne with pudding as dessert.” He chuckled and opened the car before watching Plum get into it and sit in the driver's seat. She looked like she was going to drive the car then. “Maybe with some chocolate sauce. I know you have a sweet tooth; I do have one too, but just for you.”

I can admit that there is technically a selfishness in both protagonists, but Glinda’s outweighs Elphaba’s, hence the criticism of her character.
First, there’s a difference in why both women want to work with Madame Morrible (and, through her, the Wizard). Yes, both of their reasons are for personal gain: Glinda wants this for more fame and power than she already has. On the other hand, Elphaba wants to be de-greenfied so people can…you know…stop treating her like she’s trash solely based on the color of her skin. Elphaba’s initial deepest desire to change the way she looks is inherently superficial, BUT it’s in direct response to society’s (AND her family’s) horrible treatment of her because she is green. Glinda’s reasons are MORE selfish.
Now, I know that in “Defying Gravity,” Elphaba asks Glinda to come with her, but the movie (and this post—a sincere thank you, OP 🤗) helped me see a new interpretation of it. I don’t think that Elphaba asks Glinda to throw her life away for her, per se. That was going to be a consequence, for sure, but I think she was first and foremost asking Glinda to join her in standing up for what Glinda JUST said she believed in: Animals rights.
The context is important here. This moment is happening after their Goat professor is violently removed from their campus. Elphaba and Fiyero were genuinely distraught over what happened. Glinda, hating to be left out (selfish intentions!), formerly announces to their class that she’s changing her name to honor Doctor Dillamond as a show of solidarity with the Animals in Oz. Only a mere hours later, Glinda is willing (and asking Elphaba) to side with the people responsible for Animal oppression. Oh how quickly Glinda’s performative allyship crumbled!
In the beginning of the song, Glinda is like, “Hey! If you give this cause a rest, you could look Normal the way you’ve always wanted!” And Elphaba is like, “But I don’t want it—no, I CAN’T want it anymore.” And I never noticed until now that Elphaba corrects herself!! She still wants to be de-greenified, but she chooses to give up her seat at the table for something bigger than herself. The Animal race is being treated as subhuman and she decides to give up this opportunity to help them (or at the very least, not be a part of their oppression). Elphaba gave up her dream of looking (and being treated as) normal in order for a minority race to have their rights back. That is selfless. That is something that Glinda was unwilling to do.
And you’re saying that Elphaba knows full well how much Glinda values other’s opinions, but Glinda says the same thing about Elphaba! A lifetime of being Othered, doesn’t make societal rejection any less hurtful for Elphaba. She just got better at hiding how much it affects her behind “I don’t give a fuck” armor.
Also, Glinda had so much wealth and influence that she could have used to help Elphaba and the Animals, you know? She could have been a Dolly Parton philanthropist. Instead, she made the conscious decision to stay in the system that she continued to passively benefit from, and to be an active cog in the systemic machine.
This was an impossible situation, but there was definitely a right answer 🥴 And Elphaba asking Glinda to do the right thing doesn’t make her “equally” as wrong as Glinda was for choosing to go along with the Wizard, please 😭
TL;DR: Yes, there is nuance to Glinda’s decision and you could make an argument for both characters’ selfishness, but Glinda’s selfishness far outweighs Elphaba and she is justifiably criticized for it. Elphaba gave up what little privilege she had in order to help a marginalized group. Glinda was willing to step on minorities’ backs (or to stand idly by while others did so) in order to cling to her own.
I love how inherently selfish both Glinda AND Elphaba are as protagonists. But where one gets praised and admired for it, the other gets demonised and hated.
People always attack Glinda’s decision not to runaway with Elphaba, but no one acknowledges how overtly selfish it is to ask that of someone.
Elphaba is asking Glinda to throw her ENTIRE life away for her. To be ostracised and hated all throughout Oz when she knows full well how badly Glinda cares about what people think of her.
And while Elphaba is used to such ostracisation, Glinda is not.
It is an equally selfish decision refuse Elphaba request. To perpetuate corrupt beliefs you don’t believe; in order to be accepted and validated by people in power.
They’re BOTH in the wrong, for entirely different reasons. It was an impossible situation with no right answer. And I’m sick of people acting like Glinda made the “ wrong choice ”

started dating a cute twink, who ive known for about three years prior to this. he currently uses he him so thats what im going for for now... i'm a trans woman, having had socially transitioned since 2020 and being on estrogen since april. anyway i didnt have feelings for him until this summer, when i started, like, sensing something. i wasn't sure what it was, but now i'm completely certain that it's the feelings he has for me, his totally being an egg that hasn't cracked yet, some latent undiscovered potential of spirit, or a mixture of the three. we've been getting closer and closer to each other over time, moving into a massive grey area that I decided to turn into a completely certain, yes-we-are-a-thing. I'm bisexual leaning heavily toward women, you see, but i thought i'd make an allowance this time. today we went on a fantastic date, and i gave him what i suspect was his first kiss. the energy is still electric now that he's gone.
not what this is about, though. you see, as i've got closer to this person i've gradually understood that there's something extremely transgender going on with him- at least, as far as i can intuit. Over a year ago, I brought up the days when i was just questioning to another transgender friend, and he just sorta piped up, said "i've thought about it," and completely refused to elaborate. i still remembered that and i thought that our first date would be a nice time to discuss it- that flustered him real good, but he did mention that he perchance probably maybe might be transfem, but he's got school, so...
of course, the thing about girls like her is it's *never* the right time.
but whatever. i laid off, but intermittently i did what i do best and joked about him being transgender, and you know what? he never denied it, or confirmed it. he just stayed in that space between acceptance and denial, blushed and laughing. we're a relationship of comfort, you know? it's *comfortable* being around each other. it's *comfortable* not choosing trans or cis, just letting time pass. but god, i don't know, i want more for her! he's a sweet, adorable person now, but i know there's something inside him that's just so much more than this. i want it to get out. i want her to get out.
but the more i think about it the murkier it gets. he's so into me- do i hold the power here? is it better to wait for him to walk into womanhood, or should i be more active in encouraging him? i know i'm right, but what if i'm not, am i going to cause him dysphoria down the line? am i afraid of being a predator here because of internalized transmisogyny? am i overthinking this, should i just let it happen? for the record, he *does* seem to totally enjoy being a femboy- granted, that could go either way.
i've penned you an entire novel here, i recognize that and if you don't want to read this through or advise me that's just fine. if you'd like, you can leave this message out for your follower base or just save it in your inbox forever. but- i would LOVE your advice, ms forcefem. i do believe you're the one person to ask who would understand my position the best. thank you!
You should gently push her, help her down that path, make sure she feels safe to explore it! Girls like that will invent all sort of excuses to stay in denial, and you have to show her what she could have, the joy!

You're such a dork
Jana x reader
~~~
You were sitting at your desk studying when you heard a slight knock on your office door and you turned your head to see your girlfriend stepping through the doorway with a plate of snacks in her hand. Jana gently set the plate down next to your computer before wrapping her arms around you from behind.
"Hola amor, what are you working on?" Jana asked as you turned your head to give her a kiss.
You smiled as Jana wrapped her arms around you, her warmth soothing the stress that had been building throughout your study session. The way she always seemed to show up at just the right moment made you feel like the luckiest person in the world.
“Hola, mi amor,” you replied softly, turning your head to press another quick kiss to her lips. “I’m just studying for this big history test. I feel like I’m drowning in flash cards.”
Jana chuckled, her fingers gently combing through your hair. “You always say that, but I know you’ll ace it. You’re the biggest dork I know, and I mean that in the best way possible.”
You let out a small laugh, feeling the warmth of her words. “I don’t know about that. I’m pretty sure I’m just making this harder than it has to be. But I couldn’t stop thinking about you, so I’m glad you came by.”
“Of course, I couldn’t leave you alone to study forever,” Jana said, her voice teasing. “And besides, you deserve a little break.”
She picked up the plate of snacks and held it up in front of you, her eyes twinkling with a playful spark. “I brought you some fuel. You can’t keep working without food. That’s rule number one, right?”
You laughed and took a few of the snacks from the plate, grateful for the small gesture of care. “Thanks, babe. You always know how to make things better.”
Jana leaned down, resting her chin on your shoulder as she watched you nibble on the food. “Well, you’ve been working really hard lately. I wanted to make sure you take care of yourself. But also, I think it’s cute when you’re all stressed out, trying to figure things out like a dork.”
You rolled your eyes, though you were secretly thrilled by the way she teased you. “I’m serious! You don’t get it. I’m juggling so much right now, and I just want everything to go well.”
Jana pulled back slightly, her face turning soft with understanding. “I get it. But hey, you don’t need to do everything by yourself, okay? I’m here for you.”
Your heart swelled at the sincerity in her voice. She was calm, steady, and always made you feel like you weren’t alone in anything.
“I know. I guess I just sometimes feel like I need to be perfect,” you admitted, feeling vulnerable for a moment.
Jana smiled, her fingers gently brushing against your cheek. “Amor, you don’t need to be perfect. I fell in love with the biggest dork I’ve ever met, and I wouldn’t change a thing. You don’t have to prove anything to me.”
A smile tugged at your lips as you turned to face her, your heart beating a little faster. “I love you, Jana. You know that?”
She laughed softly, brushing a strand of hair from your face. “I know. I love you too, dork.”
The two of you sat together for a while, sharing the plate of snacks and talking about everything and nothing, the way only you two could. It felt like time slowed down whenever you were with her, the world outside disappearing in a blur. In that moment, there was no test, no pressure, just the two of you.
It hadn’t always been like this, of course. You and Jana had known each other for years, since your U19 days at Barcelona. Back then, you were just two teammates on the same field, awkwardly laughing about misplaced passes or a bad goal attempt. You had bonded over your shared love of the game, your goofy personalities, and the way you both always managed to mess up in the most charming ways.
There had been a time when you hadn’t even realized what was growing between you and Jana. At first, it was just easy friendship and a mutual respect for each other’s skills and personalities. But somewhere along the way, that friendship had evolved into something deeper, something more.
The first time you’d caught yourself thinking about Jana outside of the context of football was probably one of the most embarrassing moments of your life. You had been sitting in the locker room after a particularly grueling training session, distracted by the way Jana’s laugh sounded when she talked about the ridiculous prank she and Bruna had pulled on Pina. You had tried to focus on the game analysis in front of you, but all you could hear was Jana’s voice, light and carefree. Mapi had to elbow you before you realized she had asked you a question.
It hadn’t taken long after that for you to realize what was happening. You were falling for one of your best friends.
And that’s when the nervousness set in. You weren’t the kind of person who made the first move. You were awkward, fumbling over your words, and way too much of a dork to figure out the complicated world of relationships. But Jana had picked up on it, and in a way that only she could, she made the first step.
That night, after an intense match, she had pulled you aside in the locker room, her eyes soft but intense. “Y/N,” she had said, her voice low, “I think I like you.”
Your heart had nearly stopped at those words. You had stammered out something about being confused, but she had simply kissed you, gently, without hesitation. It was everything you’d imagined and more, and suddenly, the awkwardness of it all melted away.
After that, things had shifted. You weren’t just teammates anymore, you were partners, both on and off the field. There was a comfort in being with Jana that you couldn’t explain. She made you feel seen, loved, and appreciated for every quirky, dorky thing you did.
And now, sitting in your room, studying for a test that you didn’t feel prepared for, Jana was right there beside you, proving once again that you didn’t have to be perfect.
“Promise me you’ll take a break after this?” Jana asked, her voice soft but serious.
You nodded, a smile tugging at your lips. “I promise.”
Jana kissed you on the forehead, the sweet gesture making your heart swell with affection. “Good, my favorite dork."
You let out a laugh, resting your head on her shoulder. “And you’re my favorite person.”
hey my love! Ahhh I love it, hope you enjoy it 🙈😍
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
——————————————————————————
Billie settled into her favorite spot on the couch, the soft glow of her phone illuminating her face as she prepared to go live on Instagram. The room was softly lit, the backdrop featuring her eclectic mix of posters and fairy lights, creating an inviting atmosphere. The anticipation buzzed in the air as her followers eagerly waited to see her.
“Hey, guys! What’s up?” Billie greeted, her voice warm and inviting. The chat exploded with hearts and loving comments as fans tuned in. Billie delighted in the energy, her eyes sparkling with excitement, but they kept drifting to Y/N, who radiated an aura of calmness.
“Come here, mama,” Billie cooed sweetly, motioning Y/N over with a playful grin.
Y/N giggled, her cheeks flushing slightly at the affectionate nickname. She got up and settled onto Billie’s lap, her arms naturally wrapping around Billie’s waist, enjoying the warmth radiating from her girlfriend. Billie leaned in, resting her chin on top of Y/N’s head as the live session began, the comments flooding in with eager greetings from fans, her arms wrapped protectively around her sweet girl.
The chat exploded with hearts and encouragement, fans gushing over the sight of their favorite artist being so tender and affectionate. As the live continued, Billie spoke about her latest work and upcoming projects, but every now and then, she’d lean down to plant soft kisses on Y/N’s neck. The affection was palpable, and fans couldn’t help but swoon over the moment.
Every so often, Billie occasionally planted gentle kisses on Y/N’s temple or brushed her fingers softly through Y/N’s hair. “You okay, mama?” Billie would ask, her voice a mix of concern and affection, making sure Y/N was comfortable, her eyes sparkling with love.
Y/N nodded, leaning into Billie’s embrace, feeling safe and cherished. The way Billie held her close, the little whispers of “I love you” exchanged between them, melted the hearts of everyone watching. Billie was usually so bold and fierce on stage, but when she was with Y/N, an entirely different side emerged—one that was soft, gentle, and utterly devoted.
Fans couldn’t help but comment on how adorable they were together. “This is the cutest thing ever!” one user wrote, while another declared, “Billie is so soft with Y/N, this is everything!” Each interaction seemed to deepen the warmth in the room, and Billie only leaned more into that affection.
“Look at my gorgeous girl,” Billie said, her voice adorned with sweetness, momentarily losing her focus on the camera. “Everyone say hi to Y/N! She’s the reason I’m so happy!” The chat flooded with love and admiration, and Billie couldn’t help but giggle. “I call her ‘mama’ because she takes care of me like no one else. Right, Y/N?”
Y/N turned slightly, a shy giggle escaping her lips as she met Billie’s gaze. “Right,” she whispered, her cheeks flushing at the attention.
Billie tightened her embrace, pulling Y/N even closer. “You’re so perfect,” she murmured, pressing another kiss to Y/N’s neck. Fans could see the bliss on Y/N’s face and how Billie melted into her, creating an atmosphere that radiated love.
“Do you want me to sing something?” Billie asked, her voice soft, her eyes sparkling as they caught Y/N's. “I can serenade my favorite person right now.”
Y/N’s eyes lit up as she nodded, and Billie grinned, the sound sweet and melodious as she began to sing. With every note, her affection for Y/N poured out, a beautiful display that the fans cherished with every heartbeat. Billie’s gentle touches, her playful whispers, and her loving caresses painted a scene of pure love that fans would remember long after the live ended.
When Billie finished, she rested her forehead against Y/N’s shoulder, a satisfied smile playing on her lips. “I love you, mama,” she said softly, the world outside their little bubble fading into a distant memory. Their hearts beat together, and for a moment, everything was perfect.
Another day, another item missing; your iconic poster of yourself. now the wall it was previous on was now empty and just a void of pink and blue stripes.
“caitlyn, i really don’t know.” your shoulders slump, already exhausted from these missing items; it started off small like from your lip glosses or nail polish to your panties and bra from your laundry basket then to your portraits and photos of yourself you hang up. “do you have security cameras?” vi asked her hand gripping her chin while looking around. “well i mean yes but they’re inactive right now.” caitlyn raised her eyebrow at you. “what do you mean, ‘inactive’?”
“i mean like i haven’t really put them up.” the pinkette and bluette girls stare at you in disbelief. “are you serious right now?” vi threw her arms up in the air. “honestly, we should just leave you to get more of your stuff stolen.” vi said, caitlyn sighed and pinches the bridge of her nose, “let’s put the cameras up.” you got out of bed, wrapping the sleeping robe around yourself, “finally someone isn’t judging me and is TRYING to help!” you glance over at vi as she rolled her eyes.
“another photo of my wife.” the girl muttered to herself, pulling the photo out of the stolen polaroid camera, a photo snapped of your back of your room, the way robe shaped your whole figure got her hypnotized, enchanted even. she shouldn’t even be here, not during the day at least. it’s too risky to be getting caught on the roof of a famous model and being a wanted criminal, but you have this invisible leash on her and she willingly follow you wherever. the only issue is them.
her sister and her sister’s girlfriend. vi and caitlyn, attached to you by the hip. it’s irritating. why do they get to be so close to you but she has to keep her distance? that’s not fair. you watches as the three of you living your bedroom. she thought about what if she just…sneak into your room and stay hidden like underneath your bed? it’s sure is big enough and the blankets spills over the bed and covers the sides so it wouldn’t be hard and you aren’t the most observant type of person.
Tumblr media
“cameras in living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, closet, laundry room, and entrance.” caitlyn swaps on the tablet through the cameras as you make some breakfast, “anywhere else?” you shake your head no. “breakfast done.” you slide the rest of the food onto a plate for yourself and brings it to the kitchen island.
as vi and caitlyn chatted, you stayed in thought. you noticed how every time your stuff goes missing, the culprit always leaves sometime of note in messy handwriting. you haven’t shown your two friends, you don’t know why; maybe because she was swooned by the little love letters. just from the letters you can tell it’s a girl, even better.
“earth to y/n? hello???” vi snaps her fingers in your face, quite literally snapping you out of your thoughts, you blinked barely moving, looking over to the side with just your eyes. “yea? what’s up?” you picked up the warm bacon and egg together with your fork and puts the food in your mouth. “are you alright?” caitlyn asks, looking worried. you nodded. “don’t worry, we’ll find the person soon, they won’t get away with this.” you gave caitlyn a small smile, thanking her. “when’s your next model runaway?” you ate another place of food of your plate, “next…month?” vi looks at the time. “yea, thanks for breakfast y/n, me and caitlyn has to go now.”
caitlyn gets up and starts heading for the door with vi, “remember to give us VIP tickets, okay?” caitlyn joked. you let out a breathy laugh, “sure—later guys.” you watched as vi opens the door and locks back as they both exited and close the now locked door behind them. a faint sound of a breeze blowing inside made you turn around, your view landed on your bedroom.
you cautiously followed the sound and looks inside of the room, your window is open. odd. very odd. you always keep your windows closed, especially on lounge days. you quickly turn back and grabbed the tablet and looks through the cameras.
watching the footage from 30 minutes back, while walking to the shut the window. you were really debating on alerting vi and caitlyn, in the corner of your eye, on the tablet you noticed a slip of hot pink flash. you thought maybe it’s just the way your room illuminate light but you never have your big light on and living in dim lighting; so where did the pink come from?
now you’re really conflicted. you watch the pink light slip into your room but never out. so the whatever it is, is still in here. looking for it and calling the enforcers would be a rational move but you gotten curious and decided to just play along.
in all honesty, it’s way better than getting the enforcers, and the press involved with your personal life. so you’ll just stick around with this ‘game’ until you can uncover the truth yourself.
heyyy i love your writing a lot like obssesed but like i have a request where matt and nick talks about how they know from the beginning chris loved the reader even tho he used to deny it all the time
i hope you like it!! <3
obvious — chris sturniolo
Tumblr media
Chris always rolled his eyes whenever Matt or Nick would bring it up. For years, they’d been relentless with their teasing, their sly smirks and knowing glances whenever you were around. Chris would always brush them off, claiming they were imagining things. But tonight, sitting on the worn couch in their living room, Matt and Nick weren’t letting it go.
“You’re telling me you never noticed?” Matt asked, leaning forward with a smirk that screamed mischief. “C’mon, Chris, you were so obvious. From day one.”
Chris scoffed, sinking deeper into the couch. “I wasn’t obvious. You guys just love stirring up drama that isn’t there.”
Nick laughed, shaking his head. “Oh, it was there, alright. The way you used to act around her? It was like watching a middle schooler with his first crush. You could barely string a sentence together when she walked into the room.”
Chris crossed his arms defensively. “That’s just because I was caught off guard! She has... an intimidating presence, okay?”
“Intimidating,” Matt repeated, raising an eyebrow. “You mean gorgeous, smart, and the only person who could make you shut up for five seconds.”
Chris rolled his eyes again, but the faint blush creeping up his neck betrayed him.
Nick grinned, sensing victory. “And let’s not forget all the little things you’d do. Like offering to drive her home, even when it was completely out of your way. Or how you’d ‘accidentally’ make too much food just so you could invite her over to eat.”
Chris groaned, running a hand through his hair. “You guys are ridiculous. I was just being nice.”
“Sure,” Matt said with a laugh. “And ‘being nice’ includes learning her favorite coffee order and bringing it to her every other morning?”
Chris opened his mouth to protest but found himself coming up short. Because deep down, he knew they were right.
Nick leaned back, his grin softening. “You might’ve been in denial, but we saw it clear as day. Even when you were pretending she was ‘just a friend,’ the way you looked at her said everything. You were gone for her, man.”
Chris fell silent, his gaze dropping to the floor. For years, he’d convinced himself that his feelings weren’t obvious. That he was being careful, keeping everything under wraps. But maybe he hadn’t been as subtle as he thought.
“She’s not just... anyone,” Chris finally admitted, his voice quiet. “She’s different. She makes me feel... I don’t know, like I want to be better. For her.”
Matt smiled knowingly. “We figured that out a long time ago, bro.”
“And we knew it was only a matter of time before you figured it out too,” Nick added.
Chris sighed, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Yeah, well... better late than never, right?”
Matt and Nick exchanged a look before Matt clapped Chris on the shoulder. “Exactly. Now go tell her, genius.”
Chris didn’t need to be told twice.
✦ aftercare | billie eilish
Tumblr media
warnings: fluffy, bubble bath lots of lots of personal attention.
summary: she wants to be with you for all time, and she would made sure that you knew that.
Tumblr media
"it´s okay, it´s okay." billie said holding your tired body beside hers, caressing your hair with her fingers. "you did so good for me, baby, such a perfect girl." she kissed your forehead gently, letting you rest after breaking you. your head now laying on her chest, breathing deeply. "can i get up to prepare your bubble bath, angel?" your gaze was now in her eyes, looking up at her. "of course, bills, js' dont take too long.. okay?" you said in a soft tone, almost whispering.
she just kissed your forehead one more time and got up going towards your bathroom, she could see that you were too tired to even speak properly. billie was the kind of person who could treat you like a princess after playing a role of degrading you. the only moment she was being true was when she told you how much you mean to her, you were the only comfort she had in life. her life as a famous singer was a complete rush, and you had always been the peace she had on her life.
billie saw everything in your eyes, everything she needs to see. the only thing she always wanted for sure, was to have you with her until the end of time. her life was full of doubts, and she loved that with you, there's not even a single doubt. she was yours, and she was so fucking glad that a sweet person like you was hers too.
"babe? all ready here, u okay?" she spoke, coming towards you as you got up to sit on the bed. "yes.. all okay, js' thinking about you." you said with a soft smile. she sat beside you, staring at you as she took a strand of your hair and put it behind your ear. "what kind of thoughts?" she replied, with no malice. billie was staring at you, admiring you like you were a work of art. "the kind of thoughts that make me wanna kneel down the floor and ask you to be my wife." you said it all softly, you truly meant it, and she knew. she smiled, getting closer to you, and finally, kissing you.
it was all slow, billie kissed you in a soft way, it almost seemed like you were a doll and she was so scared to even scratch you. her tongue dancing with yours, her hand going down to your waist, but with almost no pressure there. your breath starting to get shorter, as you two didn´t want to be even a centimeter far from each other. eventually, it ended. her blue eyes now staring at you with all the love she has. "i love you so fucking much." she spoke, trying to hold a smile of coming out. "i love you even more." you replied as she chuckle. "thats impossible, angel. let me help you go to the bathroom now, okay?" you just noded your head, as billie took your body in her arms, carrying you to the bathtub. and putting you on the ground in the front of it.
you quickly entered, sitting on the warm water. "waiting for u" you said as billie was taking off the only clothes she had left on her body. "anxious are we?" she giggled, entering and sitting behind you. both of her arms wrapping your sides and trapping you close to her. "ugh, i wish i could spend all my life here with you." you giggled, carresing her arm. "in a bubble bath after sex?" she giggled "all i want in life is to hold you tight and take care of you, the place doesnt matter." she said almost explaining herself to you.
"i love you in a way that words wouldn´t be enough to describe." you said, opening your heart.
"then show me, i want stay like this with you for my whole life, i want you to be my wife."
Dancing Through Life
Fiyero Tigelaar x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/n Upperland of the Upper Uplands, cousin to Galinda Upand, doesn’t have a problem with Fiyero Tigelaar, but that doesnt’t mean that she wants him around. However, after one simple walk with the Winkie Prince, Y/n discovers that he’s not so bad after all.
A/n: hi hi! I’m back with a Fiyero one shot, but that doesn’t mean that I’ve forgotten about the second Bridgerton and I. I’ve written two chapters so far over thanksgiving break and I might try to squeeze in one more chapter or at least half of one before I go back to school. I don’t really have enough time to write when I am at school, so the next time I’ll probably get back to writing during Christmas break which is in a couple weeks. Then I’ll finish the Bridgerton and I and I’m thinking about waiting to finish the Bridgerton and I completely before posting any more chapters, so the ff will probably be finished in December. I wrote this one shot because Wicked has been on my mind 24/7 and I can write whatever comes to mind, but for the Bridgerton and I have to sit down and rewatch Bridgerton episodes so that I can make sure I get all the words exactly right. I hope you guys continue to be patient as I try to finish it :).
I have recently seen the movie Wicked and plan to see 10 million more times because it is SO GOOD. Wicked is basically my whole personality at this point. I was already obsessed with Fiyero, but Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero made my obsession worse (but in a good way :)). And with this obsession comes a Jonathan Bailey Fiyero Tigelaar one shot. I hope you enjoy!! I also have a plan to write another one so stay tuned for that!
It was a beautiful day today, so after class I decided to read at my favorite spot: the bench under the oak tree. I loved it here because it was a peaceful place where I never got disturbed. Or so I thought.
I realized he was near when I heard the sound of boots stepping onto grass. It was only when his shadow blocked the words on the page that I finally looked up.
Fiyero looked down on me with curious eyes, but there was still a charming smile plastered on his face. I tried to hide how his smile affected me, but he must have noticed the change in my demeanor because his smile turned into a smirk.
I thought after my cousin Galinda introduced him to my brother and I earlier today would be the last time I saw him for the day. It appears the Winkie prince had other plans.
“Well what is Miss Upland doing under the oak tree?” He asked.
“Reading.” I held up my book for effect before I continued back to where I left off.
I saw him take a seat beside me on the bench in the corner of my eye.
“It’s Friday.” He continued.
I rolled my eyes. “I know. I can read calendars.” Fiyero chuckled at my blunt and snippy responses. He could clearly tell that I was annoyed by his presence, but he continued to talk anyway.
“It’s Friday and you are here reading under an oak tree. You should be out there having fun.” He used his hands to gesture to all the other students hanging out at the courtyard.
“This is fun to me.”
“School work is fun?”
“Well for your information this book is not for school it’s for me.”
“Well I believe you are filling your head with too many things. You’re thinking too much.”
I rolled my eyes.
“Well that’s not surprising coming from a prince like you.”
“A prince like me?” Fiyero gave a feigned pained expression. “I’m hurt that you would think that way about me.”
“Well I believe that you present yourself as self-absorbed and deeply shallow, but I don’t think you are. I think you use that as a front to hide the fact that you actually care and have thoughts.”
“Excuse me there’s no pretense here. I happen to be genuinely self-absorbed and deeply shallow.”
“Okay.” I said not believing him. I shut my book and stood from the bench. I finished the book I was reading and decided to go search for another one to read.
“Well I guess it was nice talking to you.”
I began to walk back to my room, but he blocked my path.
“Where are you going?”
“Back to my room to find another book.”
“Oh come on. Drop the book for once and have some fun.”
“No.”
I pushed past him and walked away without looking back. I was hoping he would leave me alone after that, but luck was not on my side today.
“Since you’re going back to your room, maybe I can save you the trouble of carrying your book all the way back.”
He grabbed the book from my hand before I could say anything.
“Hey give that back!”
I tried to grab the book back, but he raised the book above my head, so that I couldn’t reach and jumping up was no use. Fiyero was laughing at me struggling, so I sighed in defeat.
“Fine. You can help me carry my singular book up to my room.”
Fiyero was happy with my response because he was smiling from ear to ear. We were now standing nose to nose and I could feel his breath fan across my face. If I looked down I would have perfect access to his lips. Wait what was I thinking? I quickly backed away from him before I did anything stupid. Fiyero smiled down at me and said, “See now that wasn’t so hard now was it? Lead the way princess.”
I would he lying if I said I didn’t get affected by his words. Butterflies filled my stomach and I probably would have melted if I didn’t catch myself. What is wrong with me?
“Princess?”
“Yes princess. It suits you. Princess of the Upper Upperlands.” He said with a dramatic voice.
I was about to retaliate when a certain blondey came to mind.
“Shouldn’t you be calling Galinda princess?” I asked.
“Why would I do that?”
“Because you two are a thing.”
Fiyero chuckled. “I just met her this morning and besides I’m like this with everyone.”
My heart sunk at his words. So he was just treating me like everyone else? But why was I so upset about it? Just a few hours ago I wanted nothing to do with him and now I was disappointed that he’s not treating me differently.
“And if I called her princess then I wouldn’t be able to call you princess. Princess.” He said with a wink.
That definitely lifted my spirits. Sweet Oz! He was making feel a roller coaster of emotions. I could tell there will never be a dull moment with him.
I gave him a small smile but I looked down on the floor to hide it from him. I didn’t want him to notice that I started to warm up to him, but he saw the slight upturn of my lips.
“Well who knew that Miss Upland could smile. It’s a miracle!”
“Oh shut up!” I said, but you could hear the grin in my voice.
“Besides reading, what do you really do for fun?” I looked up at Fiyero and could tell that he truly wanted to know my genuine answer. So it seems that my premonition about him not being self-absorbed and deeply shallow was true.
“Umm…spending time with friends, swimming. Oh there’s a lake in the Upper Upperlands that my family and I go to every summer to cool off and it has such beautiful scenery. Not to mention the nearby ice cream shop…”
I stopped after I realized that I blabbered on. “I’m sorry I sort of got carried away.”
I looked up at Fiyero, but he didn’t seem bothered at all with my tangent. He actually seemed rather interested with what I had to say.
“No continue.” He said with an encouraging smile.
“No I’d rather not.”
I know he wanted to hear more, but he didn’t push me, which I was glad for. I was a little embarrassed with my little outburst.
“Well how about you discover a new way to have fun?” Fiyero said changing the subject.
“How?”
“Come with me to the Ozdust Ballroom tonight. The most swankified place in town.”
“Aren’t we not supposed to be off campus after dark?”
“Yes, but not being allowed to leave after dark makes it more fun!”
“I’ll pass.”
“Where’s your sense of adventure?”
“I left her at home.”
Fiyero paused before he burst into laughter.
“My joke wasn’t that funny.” But I couldn’t help but laugh along with Fiyero.
Fiyero paused again.“Your laugh.”
I took a few moments to recompose myself before asking, “What about my laugh?”
“It’s beautiful.”
I stopped walking and choked on air.
“What?” I asked, but Fiyero ignored me.
“Which way is your room?”
I realized that we have reached the dead end which separated into two hallways.
“This way.” I said as I begin to walk to the right. I walked a little faster to make this walk shorter. I have embarrassed myself way too many times in a such a short amount of time and I just wanted to smash my pillow in my face and scream. The rest of the way was silent until we reached my door.
“Well here we are. My humble abode.” I said. “Thank you for the uh…walk.”
“It was my pleasure. I hope to see you tonight at the Ozdust ballroom Miss Upland.
“Y/n.”
Fiyero smiled at my response.
“Y/n. I hope to see you tonight.”
I opened the door and was about to walk in, but I turned around instead.
“I know you like to put on the facade that you are this Winkie prince who doesn’t have a care in the world, but you’re also human. Yes you might be self-absorbed and shallow, but that’s not all of you and you have thoughts that should be shared. If you take away your crowd of admirers you’ll be left with the real you. If you want to continue with this role in front of everyone then that’s fine…,but you don’t have to be that way with me.”
Fiyero’s expression was unreadable, but I could have sworn I saw flickers of fear and appreciation.
“Y/n…I don’t know what to say.”
His hands fell to his sides and I realized that he still had my book. I slowly inched towards his hand and pulled the book from his grasp. But before I pulled away I took his hand in mine and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“You don’t have to say anything.” I said with a smile.
He nodded and with one last squeeze I pulled away and slowly closed the door shut.
—————————
I laid in my bed, for what seemed like hours, contemplating whether I should go to the Ozdust ballroom or not. I turned to my night stand to see that it’s only been a half hour. I groaned in frustration and covered my face with my pillow. Then I heard a knock at the door. I rose from my bed and opened it to see my brother Ezra.
“You. Me. Ozdust. Tonight.” He said as he entered my room.
“You know about that too?” I said as I shut the door.
“How do you know about it?” He asked curiously.
“I was invited.” I said as I plopped onto my bed. Ezra raised an eyebrow at my words and joined me.
“You were invited?! I wasn’t even invited! Who invited you?”
“So how do you know about it?” I asked avoiding what he asked me.
“I overheard some students talking about it, but don’t avoid the question. Who invited you?”
“Fiyero.”
Ezra’s eyebrows shot up to the ceiling.
“Fiyero Tigelaar of Winkie country? But you hate him.”
“I don’t hate him! Where did you get that impression.”
“When Galinda introduced us to him you didn’t seem to be too pleased with him.”
I thought back to the first impression I had of Fiyero when I first met him.
When he first stood in front of me I took a good look at him and he was exactly what I expected from a Winkie prince. He was dressed to the nines from head to toe. You could tell his blue jacket and pants were made to perfection and the gold accents were sewn with precision. His black polished boots were so shiny that you could even see your own reflection in them. And that was just his clothes.
Fiyero had an aura about him. It was as if he believed he always had to be the center of attention. Reminds me of someone that I know, but I know that Galinda has a heart. It was too soon to tell if he genuinely cares, but by the way he acted and the way the students nearby looked at him, I could already tell that his way of life to everyone else was fake.
Then he approached me later on in the day and I got to know him a little more. I soon realized that he wasn’t all so bad by himself. It was only when he was around everyone else where his walls come up and he acts out his facade.
“I guess I had a change of heart.” I finally answered.
“Uh huh. And how did Fiyero even get the chance to talk to you. The only way that can happen is if you two hung out alone.” Ezra said teasingly as he wiggled his eyebrows. I laughed at his antics.
“Fiyero might have interrupted my peaceful reading time earlier today and I got to know him a little more.”
“Oh?!”
“And before you say anything else there was nothing else to it. He offered to walk me back to my room and that’s when he invited me to the Ozdust ballroom. On our walk back I got to know him a little better and he’s not so bad by himself.”
“Hmm hmm.”
“Nothing else happened!”
“Hey I said nothing!” Ezra said as he lifted his hands to the sides of his face in defense. “But this means that you’re coming!”
“I didn’t say yes.”
“Why-“
“But I didn’t say no either. I’m still thinking about my answer.”
Ezra looped his arm with mine.
“Now I’m forcing you to come because I’m coming and I’m not going to have you sit pathetically in your room.”
“I’m not going to—“
“Ah uh. I won’t take no for an answer. And don’t say you don’t have anything to wear. Your wardrobe is almost as grand and big as Galinda’s.”
Ezra did have a point. I worried about my appearance and wardrobe just as much as Galinda, but I didn’t flaunt it as much as my cousin did.
“Come on.” Ezra grabbed my hands and pulled me up from my bed. He led me to one of my luggage’s that turned into a closet with the push of a button. Ezra pushed the button and pushed me towards my array of dresses.
“Well go on.” He prompted.
I stumbled upon the rack and begin to flip through my choices until I came across a dress that brought a smile to my face.
—————————
Ezra and I missed the boat that Galinda and Fiyero went on, so we arrived at the Ozdust ballroom a little later. I peeked over the corner and was in awe with what I saw.
The entrance of the ballroom had a ginormous staircase which led to the dance floor. At the end of the room was where a band of animals were playing the music. On the ceiling schools of fish were dancing in formation to the beat of the music. That’s when I realized that this ballroom was underwater. That was something I’ve never seen before.
Ezra and I began to walk down the staircase and I began to notice a lot of familiar faces from school.
“Do people come here often?” I asked Ezra. He first attended Shiz last year, so he had a whole year of experience before I came along.
“I would say so. It’s where most people go over the weekend, but this is the first time I’ve ever gone.”
I looked at him shocked. “Really?!”
“Yeah. I’ve never been invited and I’ve always wanted to go, but I never knew how to get here until I overheard those two girls talking today.”
“Well today’s your lucky day!” I said with a smile.
“Indeed it is.” He said with a chuckle. “Oh I see some of my friends I invited over there. Will you be okay on your own?”
“Yeah I will. Galinda should be around here somehere.”
“And Fiyero.” Ezra said with a glint of mischievousness.
“Yeah him too.”
Ezra laughed before he walked over to his two friends. Now I was left alone to fend for myself. I noticed a drink table on the side of the dance floor, so I made my way over there.
I had no idea what was in the glass, but it tasted quite good. I sipped quietly off to the side when I noticed a familiar figure approach me.
“Well if it isn’t Miss Upland.”
“Please don’t call me that.”
“Alright then. Princess.”
“Y/n.” I corrected him
“Princess Y/n.”
I figured it would be pointless so I gave up trying to correct him.
“I was almost starting to think you weren’t going to show up. What made you change your mind? Me?”
“Don’t be so full of yourself Fiyero. My brother forced me to come.”
“Aww so I can’t go around telling people that you’re my date tonight?”
I nearly choked on my drink, but I managed to regain my composure.
“Not a chance.”
“What a shame and to think I was going to ask you to dance.”
“I didn’t say no to that.” I said with a teasing smile. Fiyero looked shocked and glad that I was finally playing his game.
“Since you say so, I’ll just take this.”
Fiyero grabbed the drink from my hand and downed the rest of it before setting it on the table.
“Shall we?” He extended out his hand for me to take. I didn’t say anything, but I accepted his hand and he led me to the dance floor.
He began to twirl and whirl me around to the beat of the music and I found a couple laughs slip from my mouth. I haven’t had this much fun in a long time and I couldn’t believe that Fiyero of all people was making that happen.
One by one Galinda, Ezra, and his friends joined us as well. It was great to not care about the trivial things in life and simply dance through life as Fiyero likes to put it.
At one point the band slowed down the tempo of the music to a slower one and Fiyero gave me a knowing look. I looked back at Ezra and he winked at me before walking off the dance floor with his friends. I turned back to Fiyero and grabbed his hand. He gave me a beaming smiling, put his hands on my hips and began to move me across the ballroom floor.
“You know I’ve been thinking about what you said earlier today.” He said.
“About?” But I had an inkling about what he was talking about.
“About me pretending in front of everyone else.” I simply nodded and waited for him to continue.
“I guess I started doing it in order to hide my true depth of character. It was a way for me navigate the superficial social circles and get the chance to meet powerful people. I’ve done it for so long that I forgot what it’s like to just be me, but you were the first person to ever see through that.”
I took a moment to take in his words. It must have been exhausting to keep up that facade for so long. I felt bad for Fiyero. The fact that he felt the need to live like that.
“Well like I said you don’t have to pretend with me. I want to know the real Fiyero Tigelaar. Do you think you can manage to do that?”
“I can for you.”
Under normal circumstances I would have collapsed right then and there there, but that would do either of us no good. Fiyero had just finished telling me something he’s never spoken out loud before and I have to be the support he needs.
He twirled me around once more before pulling me right back into his arms. Then he brought his mouth up to my ear and whispered changing the subject.
“You look beautiful princess. I couldn’t take my eyes off of you tonight. I must say that blue is definitely your color. You are hands down the most beautiful one here.”
“I don’t think so.” I said as I looked down at the floor bashfully.
Fiyero grabbed my chin with his finger and brought my face up to look up at him.
“I beg to differ.” He grabbed a strand of my hair and pulled it back behind my ear. I felt his breath against my ear and shivers traveled down my spine. No boy has ever gave me as much attention as Fiyero has and I was at a loss with what to do. But in a strange way I knew exactly what to do, which is why I was bold enough to try something.
“Can I tell you a secret?” I whispered in his ear.
Fiyero looked confused, but he nodded anyway. I stood up on my tiptoes and went up to his ear, but at the very last second I grabbed his face and connected his lips with mine.
At first he didn’t responded, and I got so scared I got the message wrong, so I almost pulled away. However, he soon reciprocated the kiss and placed one hand firmly on my waist and the other framing my face. The kiss started simple, but then it became more intense. I would have kept on going, but then I remembered where we were.
I pulled away and looked around to see my brother looking at me with a knowing look as if he was saying I told you so. He mouthed, “And you said there was nothing else to it.”
“Shut up.” I mouthed back.
“Do you want to take this somewhere else? Away from the public eye.” Fiyero asked.
I looked up at his blue eyes and thought about being alone with Fiyero. Being able to hold him and kiss him to my hearts desire. I nodded with a smile.
Fiyero smiled back and interlocked our hands. Together the both of us walked out of the Ozdust ballroom without a care in the world and we simply danced through life.
A/N: Flashbacks In Italics!
Letter In Purple And Italics!
ONE THING I'MMA DO...IS NOT CRASH THE FUCK OUT AFTER WRITING THIS (I'm reminding myself)
Tumblr media
After narrowly escaping Alice's trial and making sure Teen was okay, gathered and started a campfire to brace the cold winter night, before resuming our journey down the road.
"(Y/N)", called out, as I turned to face her.
"Why don't you show us your battle scars?"
I take a quick glance around the group and shrug, thinking 'why not?'.
I pull up my shirt and show them the scar on my stomach, taking notice of the way Agatha's eyes lingered on my exposed skin.
"Bar fight with some random chick who thought I was looking at her boyfriend", I scoff.
"Damn", Alice muttered.
"Yeah, she took a bottle and broke it off on the table and...well. I'm pretty sure you guys can guess how that ended", I say, rearranging my blouse.
"Like I swung that way", I added, watching the ladies turn to each other chuckling.
Just then, Agatha pipes up.
"I have a scar"
"Yeah, the one on your arm", Lilia pointed out.
"Not just that one", she interjected, shaking her head.
I narrow my gaze, looking down at her. More than a hundred years later and I still remembered every inch of her body from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. If my memories served me right, that was the only scar she had.
"A long time ago...I loved someone", she began.
My heart sunk slightly, realizing who she was talking about.
"And I had to something I did not want to do...even if I had no other choice"
That was bullshit and she knew it. She did have a choice and she chose to be a coward.
"And it hurt them", she added.
Back in nineteen-twenty, the start of the Roaring Twenties era, Agatha and I met, when she walked into the speakeasy I was performing at. I was singing my final song of the evening and I spot her sizing me up from the front row. Of course, I grew bashful at the attention, but remained committed to finishing my set.
Once I was done, I take a bow, expressing my gratitude for the crowd's enthusiasm.
"You've been lovely this evening, I'm (Y/F/N), goodnight!", I bid farewell, as the room erupted with applause.
I get back to my dressing room and change into a more comfortable dress, before making my way to the bar.
"You did great, kid", the barkeep praised, handing me my usual.
"Thanks, Rusty", I say, taking the martini.
"Dirty", I hear a voice say behind me, causing me to look over my shoulder.
It was the woman from earlier.
"Pardon?", I say, narrowing my eyes.
"The drink?", she said, smirking.
I look back at my drink and that's when I realized what she was referring to.
"Oh!"
She chuckles, taking the seat beside me.
"You've got quite the voice", she complimented, bringing a pinkish hue to my cheeks.
"Thank you", I replied, avoiding her piercing gaze.
I could sense a certain air about her that intrigued me. I just couldn't put my finger on it.
"The name's Agatha Harkness", she introduced, extending a hand.
Harkness....why did that name sound so familiar?
"(Y/N)", I said, offering mine, lazily bent at the wrist.
She takes it and runs her thumb over my knuckles, causing my breath to hitch over so slightly. I couldn't help but bend to my curiosity's will.
"You said your last name was...Harkness?"
"Yeah, sound familiar?", she asked.
I had to be careful. I couldn't risk exposing the fact that I was a witch to the wrong person.
"I believe so. It might sound silly, but a long time ago, I had family that migrated out of Salem"
Her brows raise and she looks me up and down again, releasing my hand.
"Or at least that's what my mother told me. Any who, she had this book of our family's history and I think I might've seen that last name somewhere"
"Is that so?", she questioned.
Her voice sultry and soft.
"I told you it was silly"
"Not at all", she disagreed.
She takes a quick glance around the room, before subtly nodding at a waiter serving drinks.
"Watch him right there"
I do as she says and in that moment, the waiter's eyes glow a brilliant shade of purple, before he drops the tray.
My hand goes over my mouth in shock, as she let out a snort of laughter.
"You're a witch", I whispered just loud enough for her to hear.
"Yes and I know you are one too", she says, looking over at me.
I couldn't help but grin in excitement. Not only had it been years since I'd even seen another witch, but I was actually speaking to one.
"Wanna blow this joint?", she questioned, offering her hand once more.
And since that night, we'd become inseparable, spending every waking moment together. If we weren't out and up to mischief, we were on each other like fever on skin. Not a day would go by before she replaced one fading love-bite with a fresh one.
"Just so people know you're happily spoken for", she exhaled against my neck.
I was sure I'd finally met the person I was meant to be with. The twin flame that reignited the parts of me that I thought were gone for good...which only made it hurt all the more, when that fateful night came.
We were walking home through the quiet empty streets, after one of my gigs.
"Hey", she leaned in to whisper.
"Keep the corset on tonight", she said, making me chuckle to myself.
"You are insatiable"
"Can you blame me?", she sarcastically quipped.
Just then, women in cloaks began to emerge from the shadows. Sensing potential danger, Agatha immediately shields me behind her.
"Can we help you?", Agatha questioned.
"Traitor", they hissed, before the head of the group stepped forward.
"Agatha Harkness", she called out.
"You are found guilty of the murder of your coven"
My stomach drops, hearing the accusation.
"Agatha, what is she talking about?"
"Don't worry about it, sweetness", she reassured, not taking her eyes off of the seven women before us.
"Seize her!", the head ordered.
I use my powers in an attempt to knock them back, only for her to ricochet my spell and heating me right in the stomach, causing me to double over in pain.
"No!", Agatha exclaimed, before facing them once more.
They all began reciting an incantation and a beam of blue struck Agatha, causing her to groan out.
"Agatha!", I say, trying to get back up to help.
"Don't!", she yelled, holding out a hand to keep me where I was.
Just then, the stream of blue magic turned purple and within seconds, the woman began to age rapidly and grow weak. My brows knit in confusion, as I tried to process what was happening.
Eventually, they all dropped to the ground one by one, leaving Agatha in a stand off with the head of the group.
"You...were born...evil!", she struggled, before following the other women's fates with a harsh thud.
Agatha dusts herself off, rushing back to me.
"Are you okay?", she whispered, cupping my face.
"Yeah", I exhaled.
Whether or not I was honest about how I was feeling, I didn't want to burden her more than I knew she already was.
The walk home was silent, but not the kind of silence that brought comfort or peace. It was tense and daunting. I had so many questions, but knew it wasn't the right time. Even as we got to my apartment and slipped into bed, my mind raced. Who were those women? Why did accuse Agatha of such a horrible thing? Most importantly....were they telling the truth?
"I'm so sorry", Agatha muttered, holding me closer against her.
Her voice giving away that she was on the brink of tears.
"Why?", I say, turning to face her.
"That you got caught up in all of this"
I sigh through my nose, wiping the tears from her cheeks.
"You would've done it for me"
Her face crinkles in agony.
"Let's just get some sleep. You can explain everything in the morning", I reassured, pressing a deep kiss to her lips.
She nods, pulling my head into her chest.
But when that morning came, my eyes fluttered open to a cold empty side. Panicked, I got up and immediately went looking for her, afraid more of those women came back in the dead of night. But when I reach the living room and find a note on the table, my heart met the floor with a smack.
My dearest (Y/N),
Meeting you was single-handedly the best part of the life I was given. You've shown me kindness, patience and a love I could never forget. I didn't think I was capable or even worthy of that kind of love, but you came in like a whirlwind and turned my whole word upside down.
And as much pain as it brings me to say this, that is also the reason why I had to leave. To ensure that I'd never bring harm to you ever again. Where I go, trouble follows and you deserve better than to live your life in fear simply because of me. I love you far too much to allow you to do that to yourself.
Sincerely,
A.Harkness
I collapse to the floor in tears, sobbing and struggling to breathe.
She was gone. Just like that. It felt like a part of me, the part that was only ever hers, was ripped away from my grasp. Years pass, people grow old and die and there I was, haunted by the one that got away.
"She is my scar"
Her eyes meet mine and the moment they did, I could feel my eyes begin to tear up and my throat start to tighten. Not wanting the group to see me upset, I got up.
"I'm gonna take a walk", I announced, trying hard to hide the tears threatening to spill.
I walk a good distance away, whilst breathing in to keep the tears from escaping. Agatha takes a deep breath, going to follow me, when Lilia grabs her by the wrist.
"She needs time", she reminded.
Agatha scoffs and rips her arm away. She eventually finds me at the top of the hill, overlooking the rest of the road. Her hand gently meets the small of my waist and that was all it took for my tears to escape.
"Don't", I say, shrugging away from her touch and turning to face her.
"Don't", I repeated, shaking my head.
"(Y/N)-"
"I don't wanna hear it. I'm only here cause Teen asked for my help", I struggled through my fading unbothered-facade.
She sighs, bowing her head.
"You're hurt", she muttered.
"Like you care"
"Don't say that. I do care"
I scoff, wiping my tears.
"That's rich coming from you. The same person who dragged Sharon into this, knowing she wouldn't survive"
"I did what I had to-"
"Stop saying that!", I cried out, causing Agatha to be taken aback.
My face scrunches up in agony, as I clutched my chest. Each breath was getting harder and harder to find.
"You...You", I broke out into sobs and Agatha rushes to sit me down.
"Is it a panic attack?", she questioned, hastily.
I try to get her away from her, but to no avail. No words would come out and all I could do was pathetically wail in her arms. All the feelings I managed to bury were all hitting me at once and there was now way of stopping them.
She takes my back against her chest, rubbing up and down my arms in an attempt to ground me.
"Count the trees. Count the stars", she ordered.
I look around and in my haze, I could make out the six surrounding trees and about a dozen solemn stars spread out across the sky.
"How many?"
"Mmm", I shake my head, fighting to find the words.
"How many, (Y/N)?", she repeated, firmer.
"Six...thirteen", I take in a shaky breath between the numbers.
"Good....good. Follow my breathing", she whispered, brushing my hair back away from my face.
We take a deep inhale, hold it for a few seconds and let it out. She repeated this till I was calm again to sit up on my own.
"That's it", she muttered softly.
She still remembered how to ease my anxiety, something I was sure she'd forgotten how to do. We sat in the tense silence for a minute, before I finally found the courage to speak again.
"Why did you come back for me? And don't say it's because of the road"
She looks down at her lap, hesitantly.
"I wanted to see you again"
It was now my turn to avert my gaze.
"What? Do you think I'm lying?"
"Well, that's kind of what you're known for-"
"Not to you", she cuts off, taking my hand and causing me to turn back to her.
"I knew you could handle it and survive, yes...but I had to know you were okay"
I stilled, contemplating whether I should take my hand away, but seemingly unable to do so.
"I couldn't stop thinking about you. How you were, what you were doing, who you were with, if you were still alive. The not-knowing drove me crazy, but it didn't matter...cause I knew keeping you safe was more important. I was a walking target and I couldn't risk getting you caught in the cross-fire", her words faltering, as her eyes began to brim with tears.
"It scared me too much", she admitted, hanging her head in shame, as tear after tear hit the ground.
"So I left...because it was easier to lose you by choice"
Her words shattered the parts of me I had just finally put back together.
"I still loved you...even after what happened", my voice reduced to nothing but whispered sobs.
"Even after you left...even now"
She turns to face me with a look of surprise.
"And I hate it", I whisper to myself, as my eyes fell shut.
She carefully cradles my face with shaky hands and my eyes reunite with hers once again.
"You have every right to", her voice stern, yet gentle.
"You needed me and I bailed. That was on me...but I need you to understand where I was coming from. If you were in my place, what would you have done? Would you have dragged me along, even if it meant putting me in danger?", she questioned.
I had no answer. I thought long and hard, but eventually came up short.
"What I did hurt you, I'm not denying that, but it was for the best. I would've never forgiven myself if...", her voice trembled.
I was stumped. Thinking about if I was in her place opened my eyes. Maybe she was right.
"If I let anything happen to you", she whimpered, sniffling.
Her eyes of ocean blue bore into mine with a sense of desperation.
"Please...I am so so sorry", she choked, sliding onto her knees and burying her face into my lap.
I take in a shuddering breath, gripping her shoulders to pull her back. I cup the sides of her face, as her eyes pleaded me not to let go.
"I love you", she muttered.
I could no longer fight it. The years of grief and solitude had finally caught up to me and before I knew it, my lips met hers in a heated exchange.
She pulls me atop of her by my waist to straddle her thighs and my fingers tangle into the roots of her hair. She then turns us over to gently lay me down against the fallen flower petals. Her lips stray from mine to my cheek and down my neck to leave a fresh bruise on my skin. I hiss, feeling her teeth graze against it, as her hands tightened like vice around my waist.
Finally, she pulls away only slightly to bunch up my skirt to reveal my lower half. Looking at me once more to ask for permission to proceed, I nod breathlessly. She spreads my legs apart, pulling my underwear to the side and wasting no time to lick up my slickness. I moan out, grasping at the roots of her hair.
"God, I missed you", she mumbled, dragging the tips of her fingers up and down my entrance.
"I missed you", I emphasized through my pants.
She hummed against my sensitive bundle of nerves, sending vibrations through it. I had almost forgotten just how good she used to make me feel. With a gentle motion, she slips two fingers into me, as I cried out her name.
"Agatha!"
"I know, baby", she reassured, stroking my outer thigh with her free hand, as she continued to devour me.
With each stroke of her fingers, she coaxed me closer and closer to my climax.
"Oh god!", I whined, bringing a smirk to her lips.
"That's it, my love", she encouraged, as she quickened her pace.
She knew just what to do to drive me up the wall and she relished in that fact, for no one else could make me feel the way she did.
"You taste so good", she praised.
I felt myself beginning to pulse around her, bringing a red hue to my cheeks from how embarrassingly fast she managed to get me to my peak.
"I feel you, baby. Do it...give it to me", she demanded, ramming directly into my g-spot.
I was then thrusted over the edge , as my vision faded to black from the overwhelming pleasure. After she was finished licking up the mess I made and helping me ride out my high, she crawled back up to share the taste of me with a desperate kiss.
"Do you taste yourself?" I nod, continuing to move my lips against hers.
Once I stilled, she rolls over and pulls me atop her chest, basking in the sweet afterglow.
"I'd say that was successful reunion", she teased, earning a scoff from me.
Hey, thanks for calling my blog "otherwise good content" when most of my stuff is focused on Ford Pines. Seems kinda like a backhanded compliment, but maybe you're just rude IRL. I'm an understanding person.
Anyway, who are you to decide what is and isn't cute? I, personally, think Ford Pines is ADORABLE! I mean, look at him!!! Someone sent me this picture of him with his head stuck in a trash can! TELL ME that isn't some America's Funniest Home Videos (pet category) shit.
Also, apparently, the other guy in the picture punched the person who took the photo? IDK who he is, but he looks like Ford, so maybe Cipher made a clone? Clone's less cute, though. Explain that with your fucking rating system
Tumblr media
Hi,
Okay, I'm going to clear a few things up for my followers.
First of all: I really don't want to come off as passive aggressive. That's not what I'm about, and as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't help anyone to be anything but completely up front when you're on the internet.
I'm sorry if my comment seemed backhanded. I started following Jellyskink back when she mostly posted OC character designs, when I was in a hardcore comics and graphic design phase. I haven't kept up with the blog regularly since. I am truly sorry for misrepresenting you here. (I really, truly am a fan of your work.)
With that said, I am not going to be passive aggressive about this. I'm being explicit: THE FORD PINES REPOSTS ARE NOT OKAY. How do I even begin to explain that you're reposting videos of a grown human man being treated as a pet, and not even well?
I rate content based on whether the pets in them are actually displaying "cute" behavior (playful, friendly, well-trained, healthy) or if they're showing signs of distress and mistreatment. That's my rating system. The fact that people want me to "rate" an adult human man when it is, again, against interdimensional law to treat sophonts as pets/livestock and humans are a sophont species, is already kind of weird.
But, hey. I'm willing to play along. I'm a good sport. If they're pet videos, I'll check to make sure that the pet isn't showing signs of distress or abuse!
Except he definitely is.
Jellyskink, let's just give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you're just really bad at reading the room. I'm telling you now: Ford Pines is in obvious distress in practically all of these video clips. I don't think you care. I think you're a Cipher Loyalist and thinks the dorito can just treat Ford however he wants because he's a god. But if you're not, prove it: stop posting exploitative Ford Pines videos. They aren't even your flapping videos, you're reposting them. Go back to making cheesy OC Do Not Steal art. That contributed to the world.
Now, about the picture, since you asked:
RATING: NOT CUTE.
This is a guy who got assaulted with a trash can!! Even if this wasn't a human I'd be rating this not cute! It's horrible! And you know what else makes it not cute? You know how I always give things a bad rating when the handler or the person taking the video isn't being safe with it? Well, the guy taking the picture is 100% about to get assaulted. You know why?
THAT IS STANLEY PINES. Is he Ford's clone? I don't know - how do you count identical twins? Cipher didn't make him, they're brothers. You can literally look it up. How are you a so-called Ford Pines fan and you don't even know who Stanley Pines is? He's the sole proprietor of the anomaly distributor Pines Profundities. It's public record. He's in the New York business registry.
So, yeah. The guy taking the picture of a grown man stuck in a garbage can was being pretty stupid and is about to get punched by the man's brother, because that's what happens when you're a jerk to random strangers in New York.
"Jinx left so Vi wouldn't have to choose between them, she left so Vi could finally be happy"
Is anyone else bothered by the implication that a relatively NEW girlfriend would be capable of making someone just as if not MORE happy than healing their relationship with their sister, who they spent YEARS wanting to make up with?
Me personally, I can get over a bad breakup. But if either of my sisters DIED, or simply chose to actively walk out of my life forever, that would fucking break me. I would not, in fact, move on. And maybe it's different for you guys, but Vi consistently spent an entire season trying to find and make up with Jinx. I don't know what the hell happened in season 2, but her saying "the only thing that kept me going was the thought of getting back to you" about her 7-year prison sentence doesn't sound like "I'll be better off with this girl I've dated for a total of 2 weeks".
Why is there an immediate assumption that any romantic relationship holds just as much if not MORE weight than any platonic/familial one? I'm sorry but why is it even a contest? I'm fully convinced that in season 1, had Jinx not demanded Vi kill Caitlyn- aka take a life, ANY life- and instead asked for LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE, she'd have done it. Remember what she said? She said they could leave the entire city behind, just the two of them, and never come back. She was ready to leave their home, leave Caitlyn, leave all of it, for Jinx. Because at the end of the day, all she wanted was her sister back. But suddenly season 2 rolls around and it's "Caitlyn makes her happier." When? Where? How? I don't see any scenes of Caitlyn making Vi happy. Oh but she did hit her though, after getting upset that Vi didn't want her to shoot at a kid.
I'm sick of romantic relationships being taken as "naturally" being the priority. Maybe if you're married with kids or something, you'll prioritize your partner over your friends, sure (but if you have kids they still take priority over your partner IMO). But a 2-week-long situationship? I've known people who get ghosted after longer than that. Fucking be real with me.
I'm simply not convinced that Caitlyn should matter this much to Vi so quickly. It shouldn't even be a competition. I genuinely cannot imagine Vi, who's SOLE MOTIVATION in season 1 was Jinx, and who's SOLE MOTIVATION in EVERY UNIVERSE and TIMELINE was her FAMILY, would ever "move on" and "be happier" with any romantic partner. Callous as it may sound, she can always get another girlfriend. There's no replacing her sister.
farewell
character : gojo s. (i only say his name once, so if you wanna insert anyone else...won't blame ya) context : your husband forgets who you were (amnesia) and hangs out with his high school fling more than you :( pov : first person (reader) content : angst no comfort (letter no response) note(s) : yeah idk, had this thought at 5:00 am and, after a few days, decided to finally write it out
also gojo likes his eggs scrambled here with reader. yea idk if u think he'd prefer runny yolk then oops
In another universe, we would have grown old together.
As promised, we would have woken up in each other's arms, go on morning walks, share a sandwich, watch the birds fly by...
As promised, we would have grown a flower bed out in the countryside, have chats with our elderly neighbors every now and then, watch the sunset together...
When we first got back to our home after the accident, I had hope. I know it was hard for you to live with me, as you saw me as nothing more than a stranger, but I believed you could remember me. I had strength that our love would prevail, as cheesy as it sounds...I believed that you could remember me.
Every little aspect of our little life was still there. The way I still had to try extra hard to wake you up in the mornings, how you still enjoyed noodles that were a little overcooked and soaked with the broth, and even the way you sat on "your spot" of the couch. Everything was so endearing, and I wanted to believe that you hadn't changed.
The way you still greeted your old friends was all the same. Sure, you missed out on some memories, but for the most part, they didn't have to endure the pain of being asked, "who are you?"
It was nice to see some of your memories come back, too. When you had that nagging feeling that you just had to go to the local park, even though it was raining...all because it felt right. And it did. We used to take a walk on weekends to wind down and relax. Our hands intertwined, and just simply people watching. It re-lit what little faith I had left, and had me craving for more...more of you remembering our memories.
How you started going out every other evening to get some drinks. It seemed so...painfully absent in the home, but at least you were putting in the effort to remember.
So how...how is it that you seem to start remembering everything but me? How can you remember the way I liked my eggs scrambled, but not me? How could you remember how I liked the way I folded my clothes, but not me? How was my spot replaced with her?
Was it not strange that she would make you sunny-side up eggs, even though you said you didn't like the yolk runny? How she didn't walk the path you wanted to walk in the park? You brought her a beautiful bouquet wrapped in purple, yet the colors she surrounds herself with are yellow.
Why is it that I hear from Shoko that you were with her again? Why do I get messages from Megumi that you had to buy two bouquets, because you accidentally bought purple flowers again? Why is it that it seems you never come home to me? Why did I have to see your wedding ring on the bathroom floor. Forgotten.
Why do I wake up to an empty home, and go to bed alone now....
...You know, yesterday was our anniversary. I had bought a cake and even asked Yuuji to help me decorate the living room for us. It was...pretty awkward, to say the least, when he calls me and says you're at the bar with "that girl again."
To be honest, Satoru, I don't blame you. How could I? You experienced trauma, you have amnesia...you still see me as a stranger that just happens to live in the same home as you, and just happens to have a bunch of pictures with you, and even a wedding photo plastered in the bedroom wall. Right.
But it would've been nice if you had just...tried. Tried to come home to me. Try to spend time with me. Given me the bouquets because I love purple.
Tried to be the husband you promised you would be to me.
So here. I'm sure you've already seen them, but the divorce papers are under the letter. I've signed everything, and again I'm sure you've seen, but I grabbed all my essentials and left. You don't have to see me again. I placed our rings in the box they came in...thank goodness I saved it, despite you wanting me not to. You can do what you will with them...you did buy them anyways.
And I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I couldn't give more time to you. I'm sorry if I didn't try hard enough. But, I'm sure you'd understand...you've got holes in your memories that everyone wants to fill.
and I've got whole memories that I can't share anymore.
Long Distance II - A Holiday Special
Gojo x Reader a Japan trip is so far away...
Blurb, Part One, Part Two
CW: FLUFF, Modern AU, They're both idiots that are emotionally constipated. Broken English but I tried adding subtitles?
WC: 5K (yeesh)
A/n: Part 3 will be the Japan trip
Tumblr media
There were exactly three months until your Japan trip.
You sat curled up on your parents’ couch in the den, idly scrolling through your phone. It had been eerily quiet the past few days—barely a text from Satoru.
The familiar tendrils of insecurity crept in. Was he bored now? You hadn’t played Minecraft together since coming home for Christmas, and his Discord activity had been practically nonexistent. Sure, he still sent the occasional “good morning” or “good night,” but the usual steady stream of playful banter and over-the-top memes had dwindled.
You sighed, shaking your head. It’s Christmas. He’s probably with his family, you reasoned, mentally scolding yourself. Stop overthinking it. Stop being... you.
Just as you were about to turn off your phone, the familiar Discord chime rang out, the sound almost startling in the quiet room. Your screen lit up with his profile picture: a white cat wearing sunglasses.
Satoru was calling.
Your heart jumped to your throat. You scrambled to your feet, muttering a rushed excuse to your parents as you darted toward your room.
Your mom raised an eyebrow as you hurried past, her lips twitching in barely concealed amusement. They didn’t pry—they never had—but you could practically feel their thoughts radiating through the air. Finally. Maybe she’s talking to a real person now.
They probably thought you were overdue. After all, you were nearing thirty and had never dated anyone except the tragically handsome, pixelated men from your otome games. If they gave you a Tinder Gold subscription instead of the usual socks or novelty candles this Christmas, you wouldn’t even blame them.
Once safely in your room, you shut the door, took a moment to gather yourself, and answered the call, doing your best to mask your breathlessness.
“Hey, Satoru!”
“Moshi-moshi,” he greeted in that familiar, teasing tone of his. There was a brief pause before a faint laugh slipped through the line. “Wait. Did you… run? I can hear… ah… 息切れ?”
“Out of breath?” you supplied, your grin breaking through despite yourself.
“Yes, yes! Out of breath,” he said, laughing. “Why?”
“Uh… no reason,” you mumbled, flopping onto your bed. “Anyway, what’s up? You’ve been quiet lately.”
“Ah, sorry for that,” he said, his voice softening as it took on a rare note of seriousness. “It’s Christmas. Busy with… 家族… family.”
“That’s okay,” you said, brushing it off casually. “I figured.”
“I have news,” he continued, his tone suddenly bright again. “And… maybe a Christmas gift?”
You blinked, caught off guard. “News? Gift?”
He laughed, that boyish, playful laugh that always managed to make your day a little better. “Yes. But first… you don’t need to get me anything. No Nitro, no socks, or whatever else.”
“Oh, good,” you teased, settling back against your pillows.
His laugh came again, but it tapered off into something gentler. “Okay, listen. I have… uh… conference? Meeting? In Chicago. Tomorrow.”
“Chicago?” you repeated, sitting up. “That’s… not far from me.”
“Exactly!” His tone grew more animated, though he hesitated slightly, as if searching for the right words. “If I buy your flight… will you come? I pay for hotel, food… everything. Just… 来てほしい.”
The switch to Japanese wasn’t lost on you. I want you to come.
“You… want me to come to Chicago?” you asked softly.
“Yes,” he said firmly, though his words slowed as he carefully pieced them together. “I… want to meet you. Finally. I know it is last minute. And… maybe too much? But…” He hesitated, switching back to Japanese briefly. “どうしても君に会いたくて。”
Your heart stuttered. You weren’t fluent in Japanese, but you understood enough: I really want to meet you.
“I…” Your mind spun. “Satoru, are you sure? That’s a lot of money, and—”
“Don’t worry about the money,” he interrupted quickly, his tone kind but insistent. “It’s my gift. For Christmas. Just say yes.”
You bit your lip, glancing at your reflection in the mirror across the room. Your parents were going to interrogate you, and there was the matter of packing on ridiculously short notice, but…
“I’d love to,” you said finally, the words tumbling out before you could overthink yourself into oblivion.
That gave you exactly ten hours to:
Find a gift for a man who was probably dropping a small fortune to meet you.
Explain to your parents that you’d been talking to a guy from Japan since September.
Pack your bags without spiraling into a nervous wreck.
You were failing spectacularly at the “no stress” part.
“Why are we at Walmart at 10 PM?” your mom asked as she pushed her cart through the aisles.
You gripped the handle of your basket like a lifeline, scanning the shelves. “Oh, you know, just picking up a few things for… a trip.”
Her cart stopped with an audible clatter. “A trip?” She turned to you, her eyebrows nearly reaching her hairline. “When?”
“Tomorrow,” you muttered, bracing yourself.
“Tomorrow?!” Her voice shot up an octave. She planted her hands on her hips, giving you the trademark mom-glare. “Where are you going, and why am I just now hearing about this?”
“Chicago,” you said quickly, holding up a box of chocolates like it was the most fascinating thing in the world. “It’s last minute. A… friend invited me.”
Her eyes narrowed. “A friend?”
“Yeah, a friend,” you repeated, your voice a touch too high to sound convincing. “He’s in town for a conference, and he thought it’d be nice to meet up.”
“He?” The sharpness in her tone could have cut glass.
You sighed. Okay. Just rip off the Band-Aid.
“So… there’s this guy,” you began hesitantly. “He’s from Japan. We’ve been talking since September. And… this is kind of a chance to meet him.”
Her expression shifted from shock to concern, and you felt her gaze boring into you. “You’ve been talking to a guy from Japan? Online?”
“Yes,” you admitted, fidgeting with the edge of the basket. “And before you freak out, he’s real. We’ve video-called. He’s nice. Respectful. This isn’t a scam.”
To your surprise, her expression softened slightly, though worry still lingered in her eyes. “Okay. But this is a lot to process, and it’s very last minute. Does your dad know?”
“Not yet,” you said weakly.
She let out a long sigh. “You’re lucky I’m too tired to fight about this tonight. Just promise me you’ll be careful, okay?You better keep your location on too!”
“I will,” you said quickly, relief washing over you.
By the time you got home, the nerves were back, swirling in full force. What did you even pack to meet someone like Satoru? Comfortable? Cute? Not too cute, though, right? You didn’t want to come across as trying too hard.
At least he made it sound easy:
青眼の白龍: “Anything. You’ll look good in anything 💙”
That was easy for him to say. He wasn’t the one currently hyperventilating over whether to bring a cute sweater or a hoodie.
By morning, you were groggy but out the door, your mom barking at you from the hallway:
“Hurry up! The roads are icy, and we’re already behind schedule!”
You fidgeted in your seat at the gate, clutching your boarding pass tightly as you waited for boarding to start. Every nerve in your body was buzzing, and your mind was a flurry of half-baked thoughts.
What if he doesn’t like me? What if this is awkward? What if I trip over my own feet in the airport and ruin everything?
The crackle of the intercom announcing pre-boarding snapped you out of your spiral. You glanced at your phone, the screen lighting up with a new Discord message.
青眼の白龍: “Excited? Or nervous? (Guessing nervous 😅)”
You rolled your eyes, but your fingers hovered over the keyboard, hesitant.
You: “Very nervous. What if you think I’m weird in person?”
He replied almost instantly.
青眼の白龍: “You ARE weird. That’s why I like you. Don’t worry. I’ll find you first.”
You couldn’t help but smile, some of the tension in your chest easing.
The boarding process went by in a blur. Before you knew it, you were settling into your seat, double-checking your carry-on bag and trying to ignore the subtle shake in your hands.
The plane wasn’t crowded, which you were grateful for. You had the window seat, and the middle seat next to you was blissfully empty, leaving you free to huddle into your hoodie and stare out at the tarmac.
The moment the plane took off, your nerves went into overdrive again. You pulled out your phone, wishing it worked in the air just so you could keep messaging Satoru. Instead, you flipped through the inflight magazine, not really reading anything.
The thought of meeting him in person made your stomach twist in ways you couldn’t quite name. Satoru was so effortlessly charming, so funny, so… himself. What if you didn’t live up to whatever image he had of you? What if—
No. Stop. He wouldn’t have invited you if he didn’t want to meet you.
You leaned back against the headrest, staring at the seatbelt sign as if it held the answers to the universe.
The flight attendants came by with snacks and drinks, which you gratefully accepted, using the tiny cup to ground yourself.
Two hours later, the pilot announced your descent into Chicago, and your heart rate skyrocketed again. You craned your neck to look out the window, watching as the city’s skyline came into view, glittering against the pale winter morning.
This is real. This is actually happening.
The wheels touched down with a jolt, and you gripped the armrests, releasing a shaky breath when the plane slowed to a crawl.
As the seatbelt sign dinged off, you pulled out your phone and switched it off airplane mode.
青眼の白龍: “I’m here. Near the entrance, holding coffee. Wearing a blue jacket, so I’m easy to spot. You?”
Your stomach flipped.
You: “Landed. Just need to get my bag. I’ll text when I’m on my way out.”
You grabbed your carry-on and shuffled off the plane, blending into the crowd as you made your way toward baggage claim. The anxiety was back in full force now, wrapping around your chest like a vice.
It felt like everyone in the airport could hear your heart hammering. Your mind raced through every possible scenario of how this could go wrong—or right.
You spotted your suitcase quickly, a bright sticker-covered monstrosity that your mom had insisted on decorating “so it’s easier to spot.” Lugging it off the carousel, you typed out another message with shaking fingers.
You: “Heading out now.”
青眼の白龍: “Got it. See you soon 😊.”
The automatic doors slid open, and a blast of icy wind hit you, momentarily stealing your breath. You scanned the crowd near the entrance, your eyes darting between jackets and coffee cups until—
There he was.
The first thing you noticed was his height. Even in the crowded airport, he stood out, his blue jacket catching the light, his silver-white hair peeking out from under his hood. He was holding two cups of coffee, his head turning slightly as he scanned the crowd.
Then his eyes locked onto yours.
His face lit up with a grin so wide and bright it could rival the Chicago skyline. He waved, one hand still holding the coffee, and started toward you.
Your legs felt like jelly, but somehow, you managed to move forward.
“Hey, Y/N!” he called out, his voice cutting through the airport noise like it was the only sound that mattered.
“Hey,” you managed to croak, trying not to trip over your suitcase as he stopped in front of you.
“Ah, you made it!” he said, his grin never faltering as he held out one of the coffee cups. “For you! If you don’t like it, I’ll get you something else! Everything is on me! Okay?”
Your hands brushed as you took it, the heat of the coffee seeping into your chilled fingers. “Thanks.”
You were praying that he couldn’t sense your cheeks heating up. Much to your demise. He tilted his head slightly, studying you with an intensity that made your cheeks flush deeper. Then, almost out of nowhere, he laughed, the sound warm and familiar.
“What?” you asked, suddenly self-conscious.
“Nothing. Just…” He paused, his smile softening. “You’re real. This is… real.”
You felt your nerves ease just a little as you smiled back. “Yeah. It’s real.”
The realization hit you the moment you reached the sleek black sedan parked at the curb. Satoru had a personal assistant.
Since when did astrophysics professors have personal assistants?
The assistant—a shy man in a sharp suit—opened the door for you with a polite nod. You mumbled a quick thank you before sliding into the backseat next to Satoru, who looked completely unbothered by the whole situation.
As the car pulled into traffic, you found yourself hyper-aware of the proximity between you. Satoru sat close—closer than you’d expected. His long legs were stretched out comfortably, but his posture was slightly stiff. For someone who was usually so effortlessly extroverted, he seemed… almost shy.
You glanced at him, catching him sneaking a look at you out of the corner of his eye. When your eyes met, he cleared his throat and looked away, a faint flush dusting his pale cheeks.
“My conference ended earlier today,” he began, his voice soft and a little hesitant as he worked through the English. “I hope… you don’t mind spending the next four days with me. Sightseeing?”
His gaze flicked back to you, studying your reaction carefully.
“I… no, I don’t mind,” you said quickly, shaking your head. “That sounds amazing.”
“Sorry,” he added, his voice lowering as if he genuinely felt bad. “You won’t be home for New Year’s.”
His words were a little stilted, but you could tell he’d been practicing. He hesitated, glancing at you again like he wasn’t sure if he was being a burden or not.
You felt a pang of warmth at his thoughtfulness, even if the apology was unnecessary. “I don’t mind. Really. I mean, it’s not every day you get to spend New Year’s in Chicago.”
A small, relieved smile tugged at the corner of his lips. “Good. I want to… make it fun.”
“Thank you,” you said, lowering your voice as if the words would carry more weight that way. “For all of this. I mean it. The flight, the hotel, everything… I can pay you back, really.”
Satoru turned to you fully then, his pale blue eyes locking onto yours with an intensity that made your stomach flip.
“No,” he said firmly, shaking his head. “Not pay back. It’s my gift. I wanted to do this. For you.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but the look in his eyes—earnest and unwavering—stopped you.
“Okay,” you murmured, your cheeks heating as you broke the eye contact. “Thank you.”
He leaned back into his seat, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. “Good. Now I can relax.”
The rest of the ride was filled with light conversation, the initial tension slowly melting away. Satoru’s shy glances grew less frequent, replaced by his usual teasing remarks.
But as the car rolled to a stop in front of the hotel, you couldn’t help but notice the way his hand lingered on his knee, as if he was stopping himself from reaching out.
By the time you reached the hotel, you couldn’t shake the way everyone seemed to nod at him. Every staff member you passed greeted him with a mix of respect and familiarity, as if he were someone important.
Even the bellhop addressed him by name.
You tried to ignore it, but curiosity buzzed at the back of your mind as Satoru handed you a key card. His casual smile didn’t falter as he led you toward the elevators, his hand brushing lightly against your back to guide you through the bustling lobby.
“I booked us… um, rooms on same floor,” he said as the elevator doors slid shut. He glanced at you, his expression softening slightly. “Ijichi will drive us everywhere. I hear… ah, public transport here… 怖い? Uh… scary?”
“Scary?” you echoed.
He nodded, his pale blue eyes flicking to yours, the sunlight streaming through the glass reflecting off his hair like a halo. “Yes. I don’t… want you to get hurt.”
His voice was quiet but firm, and there was something in the way he said it that made your chest tighten. His gaze stayed on you, warm but intense, like he was trying to memorize your face.
“Thank you,” you said, your voice soft. “Um… I do have a gift for you, though.”
His eyebrows lifted, and a flicker of curiosity crossed his face. “Gift?”
“Yeah, I didn’t get a chance to give it to you earlier,” you said, feeling a bit shy now. “I can give it to you later?”
“Eh?” He tilted his head, his pout exaggerated as he switched into Japanese. “だから言ったでしょ。プレゼントはなしって。” (Didn’t I say no gifts?)
He crossed his arms, his lower lip jutting out like a child denied dessert. “Now I need to buy something for you,” he added in English, though his accent thickened slightly in his mock frustration.
You blinked at him, incredulous. “Satoru, you flew me here last minute, booked me a hotel room with a perfect view of the city, and arranged for a driver. And now you feel bad?”
His lips twitched, a grin breaking through his pout as his eyes sparkled mischievously. “Yes,” he said simply, his English slightly clipped. “It’s… different. Surprise is better.”
“Better how?” you asked, baffled.
He tilted his head, his grin softening into something more genuine. “Because I like to make you smile,” he said, the words tumbling out like he couldn’t keep them in anymore.
The casual honesty made your breath hitch. Before you could respond, the elevator dinged softly, the doors sliding open to reveal your floor bathed in golden afternoon light.
What was with elevators and being so romantic?
“Ah, come,” he said, stepping into the hallway. “I walk you to room.”
You followed him, your heart racing as you tried to process his words.
When you reached your door, Satoru handed you the key card with a playful smile. “Good afternoon, Y/N,” he said, his English faltering slightly as he added, “If… if anything, call me. I am, uh…” He paused, switching back to Japanese. “すぐそこだから。(I’m just right there.)”
“Good afternoon, Satoru,” you murmured, clutching the key card tightly.
He lingered for a moment, his gaze meeting yours again as if he wanted to say more. But then he flashed you one last grin and turned to walk down the hall, his hands casually slipping into his pockets.
You slipped into your room, the door clicking softly shut behind you. Leaning against it, you exhaled a shaky breath, your heart still racing as the reality of the moment sank in.
The sunlight poured through the large window, illuminating the Chicago skyline in the distance.
The next few days passed in a blur of activity, each moment with Satoru feeling like something out of a dream.
He had planned everything to perfection—or at least, that’s how it seemed. Ijichi chauffeured you both to Chicago’s most iconic landmarks: the towering Willis Tower Skydeck, where Satoru grinned like a kid as he teased you about your hesitation to step onto the glass floor; Millennium Park, where he insisted on taking far too many selfies in front of the Bean; and the Art Institute, where he feigned a deep knowledge of Monet and Van Gogh before sheepishly admitting he was reading the plaques.
Even with his broken English and occasional lapses into Japanese, Satoru’s energy was infectious. He made mundane things—like arguing over which deep-dish pizza spot was the best—feel like an adventure. His confidence faltered sometimes, especially when he struggled to find the right words in English, but the way he’d glance at you for reassurance, his sheepish smile tugging at the corners of his lips, only made him more endearing.
On the second day, you found yourself at Navy Pier, bundled up against the cold as the lake breeze whipped through your hair. Satoru bought you hot chocolate from a food stand and insisted on riding the Ferris wheel despite the freezing weather.
When the carriage stopped at the top, he fell unusually quiet, his eyes fixed on the view of the city.
“This…” he murmured, his voice softer than usual. “Very beautiful.”
He turned his gaze to you, his pale blue eyes holding yours for a moment longer than was probably necessary.
“Ah, no,” he corrected himself, a faint blush dusting his cheeks as he switched to Japanese. “君のほうがもっと綺麗だね。” (You’re even more beautiful.)
Your cheeks burned, and you stammered out a reply, the words tumbling over themselves in your embarrassment. But he only laughed, the sound soft and warm as he brushed it off, as if he hadn’t just completely turned your world upside down.
The third day was when he surprised you with an ice skating outing at Millennium Park.
The rink was bustling with families and couples, the festive lights strung overhead casting a warm glow against the crisp winter air. Satoru laced up his skates with an almost childlike enthusiasm, looking up at you as you fumbled with yours.
“You’ve done this before?” he asked, his accent thick but his words clear.
“A few times,” you admitted, though your confidence faltered as you eyed the ice.
“Good, good,” he teased, his grin wide. “Then… no falling, right? I'm no good if you fall.”
“Right,” you said, though the way he smirked didn’t inspire much confidence.
He stood and offered his hand, his long fingers curling gently around yours as he helped you to your feet. “行こう?” (Shall we?) he said, his tone playful.
On the ice, Satoru was surprisingly graceful, his movements smooth and practiced. He skated backward, his hands lightly holding yours as you wobbled through your first few steps.
“Not bad,” he said, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “You look… um…” He hesitated, switching back to Japanese. “すごく一生懸命。可愛いね。” (Very determined. Cute.)
You stumbled slightly, heat rising to your face as you glared at him. “Don’t tease me!”
“Not teasing,” he replied with a grin, pulling you a little closer to keep you steady. “Just truth.”
The two of you glided across the ice, his steady presence making you feel braver than you expected. When he wasn’t pulling you into a spin or offering exaggerated instructions, he was laughing, his voice warm and unrestrained.
At one point, as the crowd thinned and the music shifted to something slower, Satoru stopped in the middle of the rink, turning you gently to face him. His hands slid up from yours to rest on your arms, the proximity making your pulse quicken.
“You’re very good now,” he said softly, his English halting but sincere. “But… I think, um… I hold you anyway?”
His pale blue eyes bore into yours, the teasing tone slipping away into something softer. For a moment, it felt like the world had narrowed to just the two of you.
“Y/N,” he murmured, his voice quieter now.
You opened your mouth to reply, but the spell was broken by a child shrieking nearby as they fell on the ice. Satoru chuckled, pulling away slightly, but the look he gave you lingered long after.
When New Year’s Eve arrived, the city was alive with celebration, the streets buzzing with energy as the countdown to midnight loomed closer. The rooftop of your hotel, reserved exclusively for guests, offered a perfect view of the fireworks that would light up the city at midnight.
Satoru had made sure everything was just right. He handed you one of his scarves as you stepped into the chilly evening air, the soft material carrying the faint scent of his cologne.
“I hope this okay,” he said, hesitating slightly as his English faltered. “Not too cold?”
You shook your head, pulling the scarf tighter around you. “It’s perfect.”
The two of you stood at the railing, looking out over the city as the lights twinkled against the darkening sky.
“Thank you,” you said quietly, breaking the silence. “For all of this. It’s been… amazing.”
Satoru turned to you, his expression softening. “No need to thank me,” he said, though his words came slowly. He hesitated, switching to Japanese. “本当に…君と一緒にいたかっただけ。” (I just wanted to spend time with you.)
Your heart stuttered, and you turned to face him fully. “Satoru…”
He stepped closer, his blue eyes meeting yours with an intensity that made your breath catch. The teasing glint that so often colored his expression was gone, replaced by something softer, something vulnerable.
“I…” He paused, his voice quieter now. “君は僕にとって…” (You’re…) He struggled to find the right words in English before switching back to Japanese. “とても大切な人。” (You’re very important to me.)
His gaze flicked briefly to your lips before returning to your eyes, his face inching closer. Slowly, tentatively, he leaned in, the space between you shrinking.
Your heart raced as his lips neared yours, but just as the moment came, panic flared in your chest, and you turned your head away.
Satoru froze, his breath lingering near your cheek. He didn’t move for a moment, his warmth still close but suddenly hesitant.
When you turned back to face him, the flicker of hurt in his eyes was unmistakable.
“Ah,” he said softly, taking a small step back. He scratched the back of his neck, a nervous laugh escaping him as he tried to mask his emotions. “Maybe… too fast? Sorry.”
You opened your mouth to explain, but your words tangled in your throat. It wasn’t rejection—not really. It was just too much, too overwhelming, too… Gojo Satoru.
He didn’t wait for your response. Instead, he smiled, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Anyway,” he said, switching to Japanese as his tone turned lighter, almost forcibly so. “花火、そろそろ始まるね。” (The fireworks will start soon, right?)
You nodded, your chest tightening as he turned back to the view. The fireworks burst into vibrant color above the city, but the weight of the moment lingered, heavy and unresolved.
Even as the night carried on, you couldn’t shake the way he had looked at you, like you were something precious he was terrified of losing.
Then finally…It was time to go. Your magical weekend came to an end.
The airport was bustling with activity, the steady hum of announcements and hurried footsteps filling the air. You stood with Satoru near the security checkpoint, your carry-on bag slung over your shoulder and your boarding pass clutched tightly in your hand.
It felt surreal, knowing the trip was coming to an end. The past few days had been so full of laughter and quiet moments that it was hard to believe you’d soon be thousands of miles apart again.
Satoru shifted beside you, his usual energy subdued. His hands were buried in the pockets of his coat, but his eyes never left you.
“So,” he said, his English halting but warm, “next time… spring break? In Japan?” His smile was wide, but there was an edge of nervousness to it, like he was afraid you might change your mind.
You nodded, your chest tightening as you met his gaze. “Yeah. I’ll be there. You’ll have to show me around, though. You’re the expert.”
“Of course!” he said, his grin brightening instantly. “I will plan… everything. Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo—ah, no. Too much?” He laughed, switching to Japanese. “でも、絶対に楽しい旅にする。” (But I’ll make sure it’s an amazing trip.)
You smiled, his excitement contagious. “I trust you.”
For a moment, neither of you spoke, the reality of your impending departure settling between you. He took a small step closer, his blue eyes searching yours.
“Y/N,” he began, his voice quieter now. “I… very excited. To see you again. To see… where this goes.”
His English faltered slightly, but the sincerity in his tone was unmistakable. You felt your throat tighten, the weight of his words sinking in.
“I am too,” you said softly, your voice almost lost in the noise of the terminal. “I’ll miss you, though.”
His smile softened, his gaze holding yours with an intensity that made your cheeks warm. “I’ll miss you more,” he said, switching back to Japanese. “でも、待つ価値がある。” (But it’ll be worth the wait.)
The announcement for your flight echoed overhead, and your heart sank. “I should go,” you murmured, glancing toward the security line.
Satoru nodded, but he didn’t move. Instead, he took a half-step closer, his hands still tucked in his pockets, as if he wasn’t sure what to do with them. “Text me when you land, okay? And… be safe.”
You nodded, your grip tightening on your boarding pass. “I will. And you take care of yourself, too.”
There was a moment of hesitation, a beat of silence where neither of you moved, the space between you charged with unspoken words. Then, before you could overthink it, you leaned up on your toes and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek.
His skin was warm, and the soft scent of his cologne lingered in the air as you pulled back.
Satoru froze, his eyes wide with shock as his cheeks turned a vivid shade of pink. For a split second, he looked completely speechless, his usual confidence utterly shattered.
“I—uh—” he stammered, his English failing him entirely as he switched to Japanese. “え、何今の?” (What was that just now?)
You laughed softly, the sound bubbling up despite the bittersweet ache in your chest. “A goodbye,” you said simply, stepping back before you lost your nerve.
His lips parted, as if he wanted to say something, but all he managed was a breathless, “またね。” (See you.)
You gave him one last smile before turning and heading toward the security line. As you handed over your boarding pass, you glanced back.
Satoru was still standing there, his hand raised in a small wave, his smile soft and full of something you couldn’t quite place.
Spring break suddenly couldn't come fast enough.
Canuck chronicles
Based on this post
The apartment was unusually quiet, save for the faint rustling of Wade rummaging through the fridge and Logan nursing a beer at the counter. Logan leaned back, boots propped on the table as he sipped from his bottle. Wade emerged holding a sad-looking sandwich, his eyes glinting with mischief.
“So,” Wade began, mouth full of bread, “that guy in the store earlier? Total hoser, eh?”
Logan raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching into a smirk. “Yeah, caused a real kerfuffle when his card declined.”
Wade snorted, nearly choking on his sandwich. “Best part was when you told him to shut up. And then he got all puffed up like he was gonna fight you—with his Molson Muscle of all things!”
Logan chuckled, shaking his head. “Idiot backed down real quick when i flexed my arms.”
From her spot in the armchair, Al cleared her throat loudly. “Alright, what in the hell are you two on about? Kerfuffle? Molson Muscle? Are you just making up words now, or did you finally fuck your brains out of existence?”
Wade turned to her, scandalized. “Al! These are real words. Canadian classics, baby! Haven’t you ever been north of the border?”
Al’s eyebrows shot up. “I don’t need a geography lesson, Wade. I need you to speak English.”
Logan smirked, leaning back in his chair. “It’s English, all right. Just a little extra flavor.”
“Yeah, it’s like…maple syrup on toast,” Wade added helpfully. “Warm, sweet, sticky—”
Al held up a hand, cutting him off. “Enough about your weird Canadian word soup. Explain Molson Muscle to me.”
Logan grunted, swirling the last of his beer. “Means a guy with a big beerbelly. Molson is a cheap beer brand in Canada. And that guy had obviously one too many.”
“And kerfuffle?”
“Just a fuss,” Logan replied with a shrug. “A little commotion.”
Al groaned. “You two are insufferable. I don’t even know why I asked.”
Wade grinned, plopping onto the couch next to her. “You asked ‘cause you care. Deep down, Al, you wanna be part of the Great Canadian Lexicon.”
Al turned her head in his direction. “I want you to shut up.”
Logan smirked, pushing off the counter and grabbing another beer from the fridge. “She’s just chirpin’, Wade. Don’t take it personal.”
“Chirpin’?” Al echoed, exasperated.
“Trash talk,” Logan clarified, the smirk growing wider.
Wade grinned, throwing an arm around Al’s shoulders. “See, Al? You’re halfway to being an honorary Canuck already!”
“Get your arm off me, Wade,” Al snapped, though she didn’t push him away. “And don’t you dare teach me any more of your ridiculous slang.”
Wade exchanged a conspiratorial look with Logan, who shrugged casually.
“Sure thing, Al,” Wade said with a sly grin. “Wouldn’t wanna cause another kerfuffle.”
Logan snorted, and Al groaned, shaking her head. “I need new roommates.”
The two Canadians, unbothered, clinked their beers together and resumed their playful banter, leaving Al to mutter about where in life she had turned wrong to end up here.
