thinking about the documentary of a couple's aibo who had been their family dog for years "dying" because parts have become so rare and theres almost nobody who can service some of the older models. i feel like theres so much i could say about this stuff and it makes me so emotional

#i dont remember whats its called but i do recommend it.. but it is sad #for those who dont know aibo are a line of robotic dogs that are highly programmable with lots of different personalities #the latest models require a paid cloud subscription which is a whole different level of ougdh #like sure theyre just 'toys' but its also a companion you can have for years and years #and one dying because its parts have become obsolete versus losing it because you cant pay to keep it alive anymore...#idk theres so much to be said its a topic im very interested in #ive always wanted an aibo but the new models have the forementioned issue and the old ones are very delicate to find and maintain #both are very expensive endeavors
