Yandere Alastor x Reader who refuses to talk and not just to him but to everyone. Maybe one day he came off way too strong to her and ever since then she hasn’t spoken a word. How would he react? It’s almost like she’s ignoring him as she always has the far off look in her eyes even when he’s speaking to her.
Not sure if this is quite what you requested, Anon, but hopefully it’s a little satisfactory >_<
Warnings: Yandere!Alastor, Violence
--------------------------------
Everyone is quite worried about you. They have no idea why you suddenly just stopped… talking, but Husk and Vaggie have a pretty good guess and it definitely has something to do with their hotelier because of course it does.
Alastor, on the other hand, thinks your reaction to his… proposal (not literal, but aww, if you took it that way, he wouldn’t have refused your darling little self) is cute at first. So you’re playing hard to get, making him work for it? Usually, it’s demons coming to him asking and begging for deals in exchange for their souls, not the other way around.
Perhaps he was a little too forward, blunt in asking for your soul right away? It seems he was a little too eager to have you solely for himself that he completely forgot his manners – he didn’t woo you like a gentleman should.
After a proper courtship, only then should he have sweet talked you into giving him your soul.
But after a while, you refusing to speak, to him, to anyone – just avoiding everyone in general, completely spooked by the near loss of your soul (and Alastor, on some level, can understand your way of thinking, you are relatively new to Hell after all), well, it’s starting to irritate Alastor a little.
He does want to hear your lovely voice again.
So, he starts out small, casual things – acts of service, maybe cooking your favourite meal, doing one of your chores around the hotel, buying a trinket on one of his outings. He does hope you’ll be at least polite enough to thank him for what he’s doing for you, but all he gets is a shaky nod before you’re running to the ‘safety’ to your room.
That’s fine, there are other ways to make people talk.
He just didn’t want to have to use them with you, but he didn’t realize you were this stubborn and if his kindness was wasted…
Alastor goes to collect any and all acquaintances, friends, and family members of yours to be rounded up and brought to his radio tower. His shadow has forcibly sealed you in Alastor’s room at the hotel and you have to listen in absolute horror as familiar screams are being broadcasted to you through the multiple radios in Alastor’s room.
“My sweet Doe, I will stop this, but we must make a deal first. Do promise me you will never give me this dreadful silent treatment again and I won’t lay a finger on any of these souls again. Do we have a deal?”
You are completely frozen in fear, the screams echoing in your head. Is this a trick? If you go there, is that what Alastor would do to you too? You don’t answer Alastor’s question, you can’t.
There is a sigh over the radio and Alastor’s shadow perks up, picking you up a moment later and you’re silently panicking, wondering if these are your last moments alive as you and the shadow travel through the voids right into Alastor’s radio tower.
“Interesting. I didn’t believe I would have to go this far, but…”
A breath escapes you and you tense when Alastor pulls you up from the ground, drawing your back to his chest (though he has to lean down some) as he places his hands tightly on your shoulders, claws ripping the fabric of your clothes. “While I may prefer the auditory experience, some are visual learners, I suppose.”
At some point, you believe you completely dissociate, unable to keep watching Alastor brutally torture your friends outside the hotel and the few family members you had found and reunited with in Hell and it’s then that Alastor strikes.
He does cast a spell on you after he’s finished with what started this all, his proposal for your soul and now he’s thinking about it, a real proposal may be coming very soon.
It’s a spell intended to scramble your mind, thoughts, and memories if you ever decide to talk with Charlie and the others again (he honestly thought about just stashing you away elsewhere, but seeing as he spent the majority of his time at the Hazbin Hotel, you would be safest there too), that you would not recall anything that Alastor had just done to you or that he now owned your soul to begin with.
After all, he certainly did not need Charlie to call Lucifer up if it ever did get out what he had put you through just to get you to speak again and to get you to sign your soul over to him.
Alastor had what he wanted and he would not let a little deadbeat ruin it.

It's fate ( Bradley bradshaw x reader) part three
summary : The moment that bradley is waiting for as he take the girl he is convinced(knows) is his future wife on that first day and pulling out all the stops so that there will be more
warning : its tooth rooting fluffy fluff stuff
previous part
He was nervous , he was excited and he was totally and utterly completely caught in the spell . His mom was right all those years he thought the woman lost the plot he wish she could of told her she was right . Maybe he was jumping the gun but then again the woman he was currently going on a first date with could ask him to jump and he would ask how high .
“ you’ll know , when you meet them you’ll know” those words his mother trying to teach him growing up suddenly crystal clear.
“ so where ya taking me bradley brooster radley” god even her voice was perfect he could stay mute rest of his life and listen to that voice .
“Well i made reservations at this new fusion fever place it does a little everything so well i wouldn’t get the food wrong , then i have a little surprise after on the beach”.
“ you aint planning on killing me right?” she teased .
“ you never … your brother occasionally have thought about it” he chuckled .
“ he’s a softy really he gives you problems just tell him marley and me , that man got in such a fit of despair my mama almost few to san diego til we let him talk to our dog back home “ she giggled .
“ damn that’s kinda cute and makes him human plus i may of cried with him and went to dog shelter “ he laughed awkwardly.
“ did you get dog … oh can i meet him “ she almost jumped up excited.
“ i can so get one no i will get one and you can meet it “ he smiled noting to himself to go back to that shelter wondering if their was a 24 hour one that was a thing right ? .
“ slow your roll brooster lets eat first before your committing here , i could eat like a slob “ she pointed out .
“ and i’ll eat like a pig “ he shot back .
“ you are adorable” she giggled that was definitely his favorite sound he was wondering what other sounds he would like from her .
“ calm down brooster jesus ” he thought scolding himself .
The moment the pulled up he was on his best game jumping out of the car so fast he stumble , slightly praying it was dark enough she didn’t notice as he went to the other side opening the door holding his hand out and escort her like the queen she was to the door . even pulling her chair out once they were shown to the table he may of nearly pushed the matradee out of the way to do so but he’d tip the man on way out or not .. maybe . She had head turning moment she walked in and honestly as much as he hated it he didn’t blame them she was stunningly beautiful from the casual sweaters and jean shorts he’d seen her or the other outfits he’d seen her back when they were strangers but now the white sundress had every part loving it . her bright eyes and smile he could see as his personal beacon calling him home every night , or that voice of hers leading him like a siren at sea . he listened intently cementing everything she told him about herself in turn sharing things about himself from his favorite color to his parents which was never something he shared on a first day but yet he told her stories of his mom and ones he could remember of his dad . she told him stories of what it was like having jake as a big brother and one thing he could never argue with was that hangman did love his family . she was the youngest of the five sisters and well seven kids in total which in turn he joke if her parents needed a tv but honestly if she wanted twenty kids he would give them to her.
“ hey they kept going til they got perfection” she smirked that sarcastic side he could only imagine how much it irritated jake giving he was the same.
“ i don’t doubt that at all “ he winked .
“ honestly i’m surprised there isn’t little seresin out there with that hound dog i call a brother” she snorted . “ sure they’re are in texas but none are jakes “ she smiled .
“ do you miss it , texas “ he asked .
“ sometimes but i like it here , plus it not too far away i mean a day or less car trip if i’m really feeling homesick plus jakes here so it makes it less lonely and makes my mama sleep better and my papa not driving up check on me all time “ .
“ well you have me here too i mean you know what i mean “ he blushed .
“ good to know i’ll keep it on mind that bradley brooster radley is there to kept little ole me less lonely” she winked.
“ what made you become a kindergarten teacher ?”
“ wow you really do wanna know it all huh? Well i love kids i always did even growing up i was always the one to well cause the trouble and wild child but even then i wanted to be teacher and well having all those nieces and nephews i was always good with the younger years mama said i had the touch and my sister emily well she said i’d make a good kindergarten teacher “ .
“ well from the way you talk about your kids , your class honestly is already telling that your a great teacher definitely one that going to make impact “ he gushed .
“ well thank you , i hope so” she smiled shyly . “ it’s not as exciting as what you do though hell i’d be scared shitless getting in one of those hornets y’all flyboys got balls ” .
“ hey don’t knock it til you try it , maybe you just need the right flyboy sweetheart” he winked.
“ is that so?”.
“ oh baby you’ll love it in mine … my jet i mean “ he gulped.
“ guess we’ll add it to future dates if this one stays as great as it is so far” she patted his cheek as she stood . “ i need to use the little girls room i’ll be back “ and honestly he tried really but he almost fell out of the chair when he look watching how her hips swayed as she walk . “ shit behave” he scolded himself.
Once desert was finish and he left a big tip and paying before she could even see the bill hit the table he once again escorted her to the bronco opening the door and even putting the belt on for her jesus even the sent of her perfume had him so intoxicated in her . with check that the beach plan was a go before he got in the driver side . what he didn’t expect was the moment he sat down ready to turn was her lips to peck his cheek. One simple action and he was short circuiting needed a moment before he even started the car. The whole car ride they talked more possibly more than she ever did on a first day . bradley brooster radley had her talking of anything and everything and he was actually listening . the whole time he was a perfect gentlemen she almost thought she was dreaming . never had she ever been treated in such a way. She had hard time not swooning and keeping her cool most of the time . he was nothing she ever met before . honestly she noticed him back everytime she would pass him it was likes something out of a movie and many time she was thinking of saying something but he was gone by time she could and honestly night she tired in the hard deck but jake pushed her out the door before she could get more out of her mouth and then her chance she took it that first time in the cafe honestly she was bucket of nerves and then well now here she was having the best date of her life and hope there would be more .
Pulling to the hard deck her head tilted in confusion she could of sworn he said the beach as he got out opening her door and unbuckling her belt . this time when he took her hand she intertwined their fingers it was cute even in the night she could see the red on his cheeks or how wide his smile was . they walked near the entrance of the hard deck only to turn as then she seen it just at the back and indeed on the beach the light that led them down to were a blanket sat on the sand along with a basket and what looked like a speaker sat waiting and flowers more specifically her favorite .
“ your brother may have help but didn’t think i’d have a first date and not get the most beautiful girl i’ve ever seen flowers “ he smile picking them up and handing them to her .
“ shit are you even real “ she gasped still in awe taking it all in .
“Well i remember you told me your favorite thing was to watch the stars so what’s better then watching them on a beach with the sounds of the waves but i was hoping you would dance with me first he tapped his phone as her mouth fell open . “ ok jake might of helped with that too “ he smiled shyly as sound of la vie an rose played . “ so would you care to dance” he held his hand out .
“ how could i say no this is wow” she was lost for words in the best way possible as she took his hands putting them on her waste as she wrapped her arm around his neck as the two swayed around eyes locked both slowly closer til there forehead where touching .
“ yup this was definitely fate” he finally said.
“ bradley radley brooster shut up and kiss me” she smiled.
“ yes ma’am “ he leaned down his lips touch her and if he wasn’t a goner before (which he was ) , he was definitely a goner now for the future mrs bradshaw .
@bets-bookshelf hope you enjoy 💙❤️💙❤️

Honestly, I didn't even think about that - Kuroo Tetsuro x f!reader
Summary: Kuroo decides to confess to his best friend's sister after years of keeping his emotions in.
masterlist
It was a typical Friday evening, and Kenma was in the middle of one of his popular live streams. His fans were used to the casual, laid-back atmosphere of his streams, where he played games, chatted about his day, and occasionally had his friends drop by.
Tonight, Kuroo was lounging on the couch behind Kenma, casually watching him play the latest game. Y/N, Kenma's sister, was there too, sitting next to Kuroo, quietly playing her own game on her Switch. The three of them often spent time together like this, comfortable in each other's company. Y/N had always been close with her brother and his friends, particularly Kuroo, with whom she had shared many late-night talks and heartfelt moments over the years.
To be honest, they were closer than close, they spent a lot of time together; often after work, both her and Kuroo would come over to hang out with Kenma during his streams.
As Kenma's stream went on, the chat buzzed with excitement, fans commenting on the game and sharing their usual banter. Suddenly, Kuroo's voice broke through the ambient sounds of the game and Kenma's occasional commentary.
"Hey, Kenma, pause the game for a second," Kuroo said, his tone unusually serious.
Kenma glanced back, slightly puzzled but complied, pausing the game and turning to face Kuroo. The chat quickly picked up on the change in mood, filling with question marks and curious comments.
Kuroo stood up, moving to stand in front of Y/N. She looked up from her game, confusion flickering in her eyes. Without warning, Kuroo bent down and pressed his lips to hers in a quick, yet tender kiss. The room seemed to freeze in that moment, the only sound being the rapid typing from the stream chat as viewers reacted in shock and excitement.
When Kuroo pulled back, his cheeks were flushed, but his eyes were filled with determination. "I've had a crush on you since high school," he confessed, his voice steady. "I can't keep running and hiding anymore. I needed to hear you reject me so I could finally move on."
Y/N was stunned, her eyes wide with surprise. She opened her mouth to speak but found herself at a loss for words. The chat exploded with messages, fans going wild over the unexpected confession.
Kuroo continued, taking a deep breath to steady himself. "Every time I saw you, it got harder to pretend I didn't feel anything. I thought if I could just hear you say you didn't feel the same, I could get over it. But… I can't keep it inside anymore."
The room was silent, save for the soft hum of the computer and the distant noise of the stream. Slowly, a gentle smile spread across Y/N's face. "Kuroo… I've always had a crush on you too," she admitted, her voice soft but clear. "I just thought you saw me as a sister."
Kuroo's eyes widened, a mixture of relief and joy washing over his features. "You mean it?" he asked, his voice almost a whisper.
She nodded, her smile growing. "Yeah, I do. I just never imagined you'd feel the same way."
Kenma, who had been silently watching the scene unfold, finally spoke up, his voice breaking the spell of the moment. "You know you're both still on stream, right?"
Kuroo and Y/N turned to look at him, their faces turning a deeper shade of red as they realized the entire confession had been broadcast live. The chat was going wild, viewers reacting to the unexpected romance with a flurry of emojis and excited messages.
Kuroo let out a nervous laugh, scratching the back of his head. "Well, I guess there's no hiding it now," he said, glancing back at Y/N. "But… I'm glad. I'm really glad."
Y/N laughed too, reaching out to take Kuroo's hand. "Me too," she said, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.
Kenma sighed, shaking his head with a small smile. "I guess my stream just got a lot more interesting," he muttered, unpausing the game. "But seriously, you two… maybe save the dramatic confessions for off-camera next time."
Kuroo chuckled, turning back to Kenma. "Sorry about that, Kenma. But I think we both needed this."
Kenma nodded, a hint of relief in his eyes. "Honestly, I'm just relieved I don't have to keep your secret anymore. It was getting exhausting."
Kuroo and Y/N exchanged surprised glances before turning back to Kenma. "Wait, you knew?" Kuroo asked, his eyebrows shooting up.
Kenma smirked, his eyes never leaving the screen. "Of course I knew. You both did tell me separately, did you?"
Y/N blinked, processing the revelation. "And you didn't say anything? At least hint at it? I've been sulking over this for years" she asked, her voice a mix of incredulity and curiosity.
Kenma shrugged. "It wasn't my place to say anything. I figured you'd both figure it out eventually."
"Be ready for this to be all over the internet"
Kuroo and Y/N both just smiled at each other, their hands still clasped together. As Kenma returned to his game, the atmosphere in the room shifted, filled with a new sense of warmth and possibility. The stream chat continued to buzz with excitement, fans eagerly discussing the unexpected turn of events.
And as the night went on, Kuroo and Y/N sat close together, their hearts lighter and their futures a little brighter, no longer burdened by unspoken feelings and hidden desires.

Clover Rants Miraculously: Unearned Defeat
Maybe it's the bitter Chloe Stan in me, but I genuinely do hate how her (And Lila's, frankly) "Downfall" in S5 was never actually about her bullying victims coming together as a community/group to finally stand up for themselves, but about the writers taking every opportunity possible to mock her (and her fans indirectly) because they were that desperate to get the audience onboard with her constant on-screen ridicule. Marinette wasn't allowed to actually stand up for herself against her, to get others to stand up for themselves, to get the class and their teachers to put their feet down in face of her cruelty and commands and finally say "No. I don't care if you're going to call your dad down to have me fired/expelled/exiled. I'm noting doing what you asked. I refuse to buckle under your threats anymore. The answer is no."
Instead, it's 27 episodes (and two specials) of "Isn't Chloe so stupid and dumb? Look at how stupid and dumb she is! She's too dumb to tell Felix and Adrien apart despite being their friend for years. She's too dumb to hide the fact that she hasn't been doing her own homework since Primary. She's too dumb to know Gabriel's tricking her into taking over Paris. She can't even spell 'Democracy' or scheme without Lila needing to hold her hand! What a moron, am I right?". Her friendship with Adrien gets ended over a randomly inserted event from a year ago rather than her steadily growing toxicity that's clearly changed her from the girl he befriended years before, just so Chloe can rant and rave about how evil (and stupid) she is, too much so to even apologize. Sabrina gets downgraded from friend/lackey to punchingbag/slave with nearly zero explanation on how the transition happened, before suddenly being inserted with morals during a scheme (when the upset's clearly more about her being upstaged by Lila) when she barely showed any remorse/reluctance before now and throwing Chloe under the bus to save herself under the excuse of "redeeming herself" to prove further that Chloe is too dumb and stupid to appreciate her friends. Her father, who constantly indulged her whims and turned the whole city upsidedown in her name even when unasked, calls her "Selfish and heartless" to a close friend, and barely reflects on how he might of had a hand in how that came to be, before tossing her to her neglectful mother as a "they deserve each other" punishment for her stupidity and evil. An entirely new character is introduced specifically to talk about how evil and stupid Chloe is and blaming her for her expulsion before getting casually tossed aside. An evil version of Marinette's existence is all but directly blamed on Chloe's bullying rather than the post-apocalyptic villainous dictatorship she lives under that forbids helping people, and even then, nothing comes of the mention as it just exist to remind the audience that Chloe is evil and stupid - even in alternate universes. We dedicated a section of the London special on how Chloe's too evil and stupid to change just to have it there (instead of actual being in London so the episode name would make some sense). Her defeat doesn't come from a clever plan, or the power of cooperation, or even love in the face of difficulty - instead, it comes from spyware and the heroes deciding "Nuhuh" as their transformation timers run out and the narrative shrugging before giving them a freebie by claiming they've "Grown up" without explaining how.
Even when Marinette is finally given the chance to shut Chloe down, it just...rings hollow, because it more about making Chloe look foolish and letting us laugh at her tears than making Marinette seem strong for finally standing up to the girl who's apparently tormented her since they were in diapers and yet somehow she's been beating the blonde down for the past 2-4 seasons with minimum effort. And even, it feels unearned because not only has Marinette not been allowed to build up to her defeat of Chloe to this point, she isn't the one who took her down anyways - convenience did the job for her and she just showed up at the right time to reap the benefits.
Marinette and all the people Chloe hurt should have been given this chance to grow and finally get back their agency from her, to finally defeat Chloe on their own - but instead, they're made passive players and props to the writers personal hit pieces against the loud fan minority on twitter, because a group of adults decided their personal hateboner against the fictional child antagonist they created was far more important than the story they were supposed to tell

Leo Valdez x Child of Hecate ☾
Pairing(s): Leo Valdez x Gn!Reader
Leo was most definitely intimidated by you at first sight 😭
I mean all attractive people are, not to mention how mysterious and cool you seemed
Leo knows a baddie when he sees one
Well anyway, the only way the two of you could have possibly crossed paths was by someone else or you orchestrating the whole thing
Ofc again, it’s my girl Annabeth
She’s been at camp the longest and has a reputation so ofc she’s the one who always introduces reader and love interest
Well, it was only after annabeth needed help from the Hecate cabin and Leo was involved because he was the problem
An invention of his went rogue (luckily not because he built it wrong) but yk
Well once you do annabeth thanks you in her own way and when Leo has the chance to speak he just..can’t?!!
I mean not only do you seem cool but gah damn u look like a goth baddie
Home boy is stunned and can only manage a stupid as joke/ pick up line which even he asks himself, why???
Well while hes internally committing he heard the least expected thing
Which was you of all people laughing
You’re usually quiet and kept to yourself so seeing you like this was like when the clouds move and lets the sun shine in-
Cringe ahh mf , really this generations Shakespeare
Well he’s so shocked then the two of you just stand there like 🕴️🕴️
And if he manages to have his inventions go rogue every other day and needs your help specifically, well let’s just say it’s a coincidence
The two of you inevitably get close and the more he hangs out with you the more he falls in love
On surface level you’re dark, mysterious and most of all, intimidating
But now? You’re so easy going, it’s like the two of you have known each other since fetus days
Eventually you two get together because of an adventure that ended with you two getting closer and more open.
Once Leo is your boyfriend- he’s insufferable
I mean he’s his usual goofy, flirty(?) self and he’s so cringe but you love it all the same
Best believe Leo is head over heels for you and when it comes to your magic and stuff he’s particularly keen
especially when you randomly give him a crystal necklace for whatever reason and suddenly you hear Leo going around camp casually mentioning that his witchy s/o got him something
Which, yk endearing but still a lil embarrassing
Leo is always there to help you when you’re making potions, spells, it doesn’t matter
I mean at times he’s a bit spooked at what you can do but he’s still by your side regardless
Now, when it comes to your family on your Greek side- he’s scared
I’m mean, you’re probably scared too depending on if you’re a guy considering how basically every daughter/ female family of Hecate hates men
(You’re probs exempt cuz ur mom Hecate but still)
Bro is spooked, he does NOT want to be a guinea pig
And speaking of your mom, Leos timbers and shivered at the thought of meeting her and her not liking him
I mean it’s not all that important but depending if you’re especially fond of your mom then he’s shivering and timbering
Anyway, Leo is so lucky to have you by his side especially since sometimes he can forget how strong you are
(Also ik hecate is a minor goddess in the books and her children are shown to be weak but i refuse to acknowledge that as child of Hecate)
If you ever try and read his palm or do his birth chart he’ll probably just nod along and not know what you’re talking about 💀
Gotta love Leo
And if any animals that are sacred to Hecate approach you two he’s scared shitless (looking at you snakes)
Not to mention how crows can literally speak, no thank you

Gem Cleo watches Scott leave. He's throwing wary glances over his shoulder at the tower that has what looks to her like a big red curly moustache on it.
It's always nice to see him, and this is a bit different to their usual encounters, which is really refreshing every now and then.
She pulls out the pufferfish he gave her and smiles at it brightly. "Hey there little guy!" She says. It stares back at her with unblinking black eyes.
"Dunno if you can call me a little guy when you're on a team with Bdubs, but sure, hey Cleo!"
She startles slightly. It's Martyn. He's not actively stabbing her, and apparently they're allies, so she turns to face him without much concern. "Hello Martyn!"
He's leaning against the rocky wall of the clock tower. He grins at her, and for a split second, his gaze flashes over to where Scott is disappearing into the trees across the river. "You still remember that thing I told you about last time, right?" He asks, giving her a meaningful look.
"Oh, yes, of course, absolutely!" She nods enthusiastically. "How could I forget!" It's funny, no-one else has really prodded at the details of Cleo's, uh, "amnesia cold", as much Martyn, although he's for sure just completely making things up to ask her about.
He looks highly amused. "Right, right, good. Just checking."
He glances over at the treeline again.
"So!" He says, and it's so very casual that it's a little bit concerning, "Don't suppose you'd let me know if Cleo's listening along or not?"
"Martyn!" She exclaims. "I'm-"
"Yeah, you are Cleo, I know, I know. Just." He pauses.
There's something in his eyes, suddenly, that gives Gem the impression that if she says the wrong thing here, something will be lost. She can't tell what, or why, or how. But it's a feeling she can't quite ignore.
After a second, Martyn shakes himself slightly and continues. "Actually, you know what, it doesn't matter. I-"
"No. She's not." Gem watches curiously as he goes very still. "I'm gonna tell her about it later, though."
"Huh." He says. It sounds very nonchalant. "Right. Well. Don't suppose I could tell you a secret, then?" He gives her a conspiratorial look. "Just you, I mean."
Gem leans in a little, intrigued despite herself. "I shouldn't..."
"Oh come on, you know you want to."
"Weeeeell..." She jumps in place a couple of times, and then nods quickly. "Alright, go on then!" He opens his mouth, and she quickly raises a finger to point at him, narrowing her eyes. "But! If it's something Cleo would want to know, I do have to tell them. It wouldn't be fair otherwise."
He considers for a moment, and nods. "Sure, seems fair enough to me. Trust me, though, Cleo would not want to be bothered by this. They have better things to worry about."
"I'll be the judge of that!" She pauses for a moment. "Because that's me." Another beat. "Because I'm Cleo."
He chuckles. "Well, Cleo, I just wanted you to know that I get it now." He says, lightly.
A few seconds pass.
"Um. Ok?" She says, because he seems to be waiting for her to respond. "Uh, I mean." She goes back to her perfect and beyond reproach Cleo impression. "Right. I understand what you're saying completely, Martyn."
He raises an eyebrow, grinning. "Well that's impressive. And here I thought I was being pretty cryptic."
"Oh. Um, I mean, what are you talking about? Explain yourself!"
He laughs, expression almost nostalgic. "Ah, I just meant I get why you chose him, last time." Once more, he looks over at where Scott disappeared from view. This time, he doesn't look back.
Gem frowns a bit, and stays silent. It feels wrong to speak.
"I wondered about that a lot, you know." He sounds vaguely wistful. "But I get it, now."
There is quiet for few more seconds before Martyn looks back at her, and the spell is broken.
He looks cheerful. There's nothing in his expression to suggest that he isn't.
"I think it's mostly that you and him are the only two on the server who have the slightest bit of common sense, honestly." He says. Something suddenly seems to occur to him, and he snorts. "Pretty sure he's alright at math, too."
"Oh, really?"
"...You know, I'm not sure actually."
He meets her eyes. His are just starting to turn the bright red of danger, the colour creeping in at the edges of the blue.
"He keeps his allies alive." He says. "For as long as he can. Even when it hurts him. Wasn't even a choice for you, really, when you consider that."
There's obviously something here she doesn't understand, but what exactly it is she doesn't know. "Good for him." She says awkwardly.
"It's not, really." He says.
"Oh. Um. Bad for him?"
He laughs at that. "Sort of, yeah." He looks down at the pufferfish she's still holding. "Alright for you though, right?" Before she's decided how to respond, he continues. "I just thought you'd like to know that if I were you, I would've chosen him too."
Gem frowns at him. There's something here. There's something here, but while she can certainly guess, she just doesn't have the context to know what that something is.
She listens to the noises of the river for a while before she speaks.
"Are you sure Cleo wouldn't want to know that?" She asks softly.
To his credit, he does appear to consider it, staring out over the river and frowning slightly.
After a minute, though, he looks back at Gem and shrugs. It almost looks resigned.
"Cleo already knows." He says.
She opens her mouth, but he keeps talking.
"Plus she would not appreciate being reminded of how similar we are." He grins, his expression suddenly sly. "And anyway, I completely made all that up. That was a test to see how good you were at being Cleo, and you failed."
"Hey!" She yells indignantly. "What! No! That's so rude!" She draws her sword and he cackles, dancing back.
"Ha, you should've seen your face!"
She glares at him. "Why are you so good at acting, huh?"
He raises an eyebrow. "Aren't we all?"
"No!"
He snorts. "Yeah, I guess not. Just pure skill on my part, then."
Gem shakes her head at him, exasperated. How much of that was true, she has no clue. But if that's how he wants to play it, that's ok. "How about this: I won't tell Cleo about any of that so long as you don't try and mess with me again."
"What?" He gasps and claps a hand to his heart. "I thought you were Cleo!"
She narrows her eyes and raises her sword, and he hurries to continue, holding up his hands in surrender.
"By which I mean yeah, sure, sounds good to me am I right?"
"Good." She nods firmly. "That's what I thought you meant."
He nods back at her a couple of times, then starts to retreat towards the river, still facing her. "Well. See you, Cleo!"
"Bye! If you see Etho tell him to be afraid!" She shouts after him.
"Will do!"
And he disappears into the trees after Scott.
What an odd man.
She wonders if he knows that she wouldn't have told Cleo if he'd just genuinely asked her not to, without the deal or the confusion or the trickery. She's genuinely not sure if he realizes that.
She still doesn't know how much of all that was genuine.
She wonders if he does.
For some reason, she suspects not.

“Life’s too short”
Disclaimer: English is not my mother tongue so please be nice
Words: 1968
Plot: In which you have been best friends with Gojo for a decade now and you have a crush on him
Pairing: gojo x female reader
Theme: fluff, friends to lovers, comfort
Shoko, with a mischievous glint in her eyes, leaned forward and said "So, when are you finally going to confess your feelings to Gojo?"
You take your eyes off your screen phone and look at your best friend. It was your day off and you decided to get some quality time with her and Utahime. It has been a while since you saw each other- Utahime is at Kyoto since years now and Shoko is always at the infirmary while your time is with the new generations of students- and you missed both of them so much.
The cafe buzzed with chatter as you were around a small table outside, sipping your drinks. The laughter and clinking of cups filled the air, creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Shoko looks back at Utahime and they both smile.
Utahime chuckled, sipping her tea. "Yeah, it's been a decade now. Isn't it about time you spill the beans?"
Feeling a bit embarrassed by their comments, you felt your cheeks warm up, and you suddenly tried to play it off with a casual shrug. "Come on, guys. You know Gojo can be insufferable. Confessing would just boost his ego even more."
Shoko smirked and crossed her legs before leaning a bit towards you. "Oh, please. We've all seen the way you look at him. It's like you're under some love spell."
A sigh left your parted and cold lips because you never thought it was this obvious. Who else knows about this? Does he knows, after all these years?
"Admit it. You've had a crush on him since day one." Utahime joins and holds her tea to stay a bit warm. It was almost winter and the air was getting colder and deprived of colors.
You sighed again and rolled your eyes, taking their comments in a playful way. You weren’t annoyed to talk about this topic, you were just a bit uneasy and anxious. "Okay, fine. Maybe I have a tiny, insignificant crush. But Gojo? Really?"
Your words made Shoko laughed and you glare at her. She lifted her hands up while Utahime chuckles. "You can deny it all you want, but it's written all over your face. The tension between you two is palpable."
Utahime chimed in, "Besides, annoying best friends often make the best partners. You know each other inside out."
The best partners?
You scoffed at her words, "Yeah, knowing Gojo 'inside out' is not always a blessing. He's a walking chaos generator."
Shoko teased, "But you love that chaos, don't you?"
Damn.
She knows you way too well.
You blushed, avoiding eye contact, and took another sip of your black coffee. "Well, maybe a little."
Utahime grinned, "So, what's stopping you from confessing?"
You sighed, "Fear of ruining our friendship, I guess. What if he doesn't feel the same way, and things get awkward? I can't afford to lose him"
Shoko patted your shoulder, "Life's too short for 'what ifs.' Just go for it. If he's your annoying best friend for ten years, he's probably noticed something by now."
And after all, she was right. Life is too short for some 'what ifs', especially in your case. Always putting your lives at risk, being constantly in stress of being attacked by some grade cursed spirits, and going on these shitty missions. But still, it's not that easy. Satoru is your best friend since a decade, it always been like this and confessing to him would only put your friendship in danger.
You absentmindedly took a sip of your coffee and thought of her words. Shoko, with a nonchalant air, pulled out a cigarette and lit it and took several drags, creating a small cloud of smoke around our table. You wrinkled your nose, waving the smoke away.
"Shoko, can you not do that here? We're in a cafe, not a bar," You said, trying to maintain some sense of decorum.
She simply grinned and blew a smoke ring in your direction, making you chuckle despite yourself. Utahime shook her head, amused by the display.
Shoko blew out another puff of smoke and grinned, "You should really take our advice, you know. Life's too short to let opportunities pass by."
You nodded, giving a half-hearted smile, "I know, I know. I'll think about it." Then you think of something and grinned at her too, "You should take your own advice. You know, for Haibara."
Just as the words left your lips, your phone vibrated on the table. Shoko's eyes widen and Utahime burst in laugh at the change of situation. You glanced at the screen and groaned audibly. Shoko raised an eyebrow, and Utahime looked curious as you picked up the call.
"Gojo," You muttered, rolling your eyes.
As soon as you said the name, Shoko smirked, "Speak of the devil."
You sighed and answered the call with a mix of irritation and anticipation, "What do you want, Gojo?"
His voice came through the phone, casually upbeat as always, "Hey, my favorite person! Just checking in. What are you up to?"
You sighed again and it was always like this. He was your best friend, you loved him, but gosh he was so annoying and always pulling your nerves, "Just hanging out with Shoko and Utahime. What about you?"
At your voice tone, Satoru chuckled, "Oh, you know, the usual. Saving the world, being the strongest, the usual Gojo stuff."
He's so annoying...
Shoko winked at you, clearly enjoying the situation. You shot her a glare before turning your attention back to the phone. Shoko and Utahime started to speak to each other and they seem to have some fun.
"Anyway, anything interesting happening in your life?" Gojo asked, his tone suggestive.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes again but not gonna lie, it was pleasing to hear his voice after some time, "No, Gojo, nothing interesting. Just the usual drama."
Shoko took another drag of her cigarette, watching you with a smirk. Utahime seemed entertained by the unfolding scene and listened to your conversation quietly.
Gojo laughed on the other end, "Well, if you ever need a break from the 'usual drama,' you know where to find me. I could use some company."
Your heart missed a beat.
Several beats actually.
Damn.
You sighed, "We'll see, Gojo. Maybe I'll take you up on that offer someday."
As you hung up, you turned to your friends, who were both wearing knowing smiles. Shoko gestured to the phone, "Looks like Mr. Gojo is interested in some company. Maybe it's time to take our advice, huh?"
You shook my head, feeling a mix of annoyance and butterflies in your stomach. "We'll see," You repeated, taking another sip of your coffee, contemplating the possibility of turning our years-long friendship into something more.
The school quarters were quieter than usual as you made your way back in the familiar corridors, lost in thought about the conversation with Shoko and Utahime. As you turned the corner, your eyes widened when you spotted none other than Gojo, casually leaning against a pillar.
He looked up from whatever he was observing in the distance, his trademark smug grin in place. And for the first time in years, he wasn't wearing his usual black blindfolded. His blue eyes met yours and you almost flustered, "Well, well, if it isn't my favorite person. Fancy meeting you here."
You raised an eyebrow, "Don't you have better things to do than loiter around school quarters?"
Gojo pushed himself off the pillar, strolling over with that effortless swagger of his. "Nah, just felt like enjoying the view. And by view, I mean you."
Such a flirt, yet you like it more than you wanted to believe.
You scoffed, trying to hide the fact that his presence always managed to throw you off balance. "What are you really doing here, Gojo? Waiting for your fan club to assemble?"
That was a good question because he was supposed to be away for a few days since the higher-ups put him on a 'urgent' mission. But you didn't mind at all. You had missed him.
He laughed at your words, a sound that echoed through the hallway.
Gosh, he loved your company so much.
Gojo smiled and winked at your words, "Maybe I missed you. Or maybe I heard you were back and couldn't resist the opportunity to grace you with my presence."
"You're impossible." You rolled your eyes but you crack a smile. He always managed to put a smile on your face even if you tried to stay mad at him.
Gojo chuckled, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer than necessary. "So, anything exciting happen while you were away?"
You hesitated, considering the advice from Shoko and Utahime. Maybe it was time to take a chance. "Actually, there is something."
He raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. "Oh? Do tell."
You took a deep breath, summoning the courage to speak your mind. "I was thinking about what you said earlier, about company. Maybe I could use some company."
Gojo's grin widened, and he leaned in slightly, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "Well, well. Looks like someone's finally catching on."
Suddenly, you stopped in your tracks, causing Gojo to look at you with a mix of surprise and curiosity. The quiet hum of the school corridors surrounded you as you took a deep breath, gathering your thoughts.
"Life's too short", You hear Shoko's words again.
"Satoru,"You began, your heart pounding, "there's something I've been meaning to tell you."
His blue eyes widened slightly, the playful smirk fading into genuine curiosity. "Well, don't keep me in suspense. What's on your mind?"
Taking another deep breath, you met his gaze and confessed, "I like you for a while now. And today, when you mentioned company, I realized that maybe I want more than just friendship."
Gojo's expression shifted from surprise to contemplation. There was a moment of silence that felt like an eternity before he grinned again, a different kind of spark in his eyes. "Took you long enough, didn't it?"
Uh?
You blinked as you stared into his beautiful eyes, unsure of how to interpret his response. "Wait, what?"
He chuckled, reaching out to gently brush a strand of hair away from your face. "I've known about your crush for ages, silly. I was just waiting for you to figure it out yourself."
Okay, so it was that obvious. Your jaw dropped, and you stammered, "You... you knew?"
Gojo nodded, his grin widening, "Of course, I knew. I'm not as oblivious as you might think. And I might have been dropping hints, hoping you'd catch on."
You felt a mix of embarrassment and relief, "Well, why didn't you say anything?"
Your heart missed several beats as you watch him coming closer to you. Usually you don't care, but now it's another thing. Everything is different. He leaned in, whispering, "Because I enjoy watching you get flustered, silly."
Before you could react, Gojo closed the distance between you, pressing his lips to yours. It was a moment of surprise, but as the initial shock wore off, you found myself kissing him back. The corridor, once silent, now held the echo of a confession that had finally been made.
As you pulled away, Gojo grinned, "So, about that company you were looking for..."
You couldn't help but laugh, realizing that maybe, just maybe, this confession was the beginning of something even more exciting than your years of friendship.

Can you write smth for this trope?
Like, Ronica, who is voicing out her annoyance towards the Heathers but then someone she's with in the room voices their disdain for them loudly and very obnoxiously. And Veronica who suddenly forgot she shouldn't care about them as people glares and with the most condescending voice you would ever hear from her goes "Say that again."
And the Heathers may or may not have overheard.
YES, PROTECTIVE VERONICA MY BELOVED!!!
---
Veronica grumbled as she glared down at the note in her hand.
'Come to the parking lot after school, we need to get you actual clothes bitch
-H.C'
Veronica felt a falte of annoyance as she glanced at the note again, re-reading it as if it would magically change the words.
Well, it's not like she could ditch this time, she was already "on thin ice" since the party, if she missed this Chandler might show up at her house with an ax and murderous intent.
Veronica sighed in resignation. She opened her locker, with slightly more force than was necessary, cursing under her breath as she did.
"-Exactly! She obviously only got the position because of it, it makes sense, right Ronica?"
An obnoxious voice broke Veronica out of her thoughts. Veronica whipped around, facing the source of the voice, a shorter freshman, leaning against the locker beside her own, a far too cocky expression on his face, his friend, or at least Veronica assumed was his friend, standing on his left, wearing a notably more nervous expression.
"Pardon?" Veronica asked, raising an eyebrow at the young boy, not many people came up to her these days, at least not casually, everyone had left her alone since she joined the Heathers, apart from a few football players trying to gain a quick fuck or a country club kid trying to start small talk.
"Heather McNamara, everyone knows that she only made cheer captain because she spread her legs for the coach."
…
The kid was suicidal, it was the only possible explanation of why he would spout such bullshit, surely he wasn't that fucking stupid.
Veronica felt the thin sheet of patience she had left snap as she glared daggers at the kid.
The hallway went silent.
The freshman's friend, apparently the one with the common sense, looked Sorin wildly, seemingly searching for a possible escape route. The freshman himself still had a cocky grin on his face, apparently too stupid to realize he had just written his death in stone.
Veronica put her diary back into her locker turning to face the kid fully, her height now clearly displayed as she towered over the freshman.
"Say that again, even hint at it really, and I will make your life a living hell, you will be wishing for death by the time I'm done with you, I will make sure your can never even breathe normally again," Veronica said, her voice resembling a tone that you would use on a small child, it was loud enough for the freshman, and a couple of students that were nearby, to hear.
The confidence of the kid's face crumbled, his eyes now wide with fear as he stayed in shock at Veronica's word's.
"Do you understand me?" Veronica demanded more than asked, the kid could only nod rapidly.
"Good, now leave before I tear you a new asshole," Veronica said, apparently breaking whatever spell he had been under, making the kid scramble away, his friend close behind.
Veronica glared at them until they were no longer in her line of sight. Veronica turned back to her locker, reaching for her once again for her diary.
"Aww, who knew you were so protective, Sawyer."
Veronica froze momentarily at the familiar voice, she turned around to find Heather Chandler standing just across her, a smug smile spread on her face, just behind her were Duke, who had an unreadable expression, and Mac, who was completely red in the face.
Veronica's gaze lingered on Mac, was she sick? Embarrassed because of what the Gresham had said? That last thought made Veronica want to go in the hunt for the kid and make good on her promise.
"Come on now, we still have to go to the mall after all."

(Nightbringer timeline)
"You don't have to fake it when you're with me."
"Hmm?"
Diavolo looks at Moin solemnly. Oh. That look is all too familliar. He knows something. But since he doesn't exactly know her in this timeline, given that it's been a month or two that she's been staying, she played the innocent card.
"I'm not sure what you're talking about..., Lord Diavolo."
It still feels like a lump stuck on her throat. She rarely addresses his name because she fears that he would be weirded out to suddenly call him casually. She tries to remind herself every waking day that he wasn't the demon whom she swore her life to and that this wasn't the home she belongs. She touches her horns absentmindedly, silently reminding herself that she's an anomaly.
'You can't forget, Moin. He's not "him".'
He gently places his hand above her head and ruffles it. Seeing her disheveled look and confused expression, Diavolo laughs.
"I'm telling you to relax when it's just the both of us. You always seems so hard on yourself and you're always on guard whenever you're around everyone."
"I always have to be. Now that everyone knows I'm not a demon, if I let my guard down, I might risk my life being defenseless. I know I'm a sorcerer too like Solomon but I always fear that I might regret leaving without saying goodbye."
Her thoughts drift back again to the day she misfired one of her spells and blinded her right eye. It was a long time ago. She remembers crying about missing them. Whenever she gets hurt, the brothers would come rushing by her side, tending her wounds and comforting her. But that day she was alone with Solomon and she missed her second family the most.
"As long as I am ruling Devildom, no harm will befall on you. I can now promise you that."
Their eyes met and with his determined gaze, she knew that it was the same expression he made when he promised her the same thing back on her timeline. Ah. He's still the same kind demon that she fell in love with. Her heart aches for longing but she still feels relief.
"Now that I've proven that I'm the Crown Prince and the future Demon Lord, I will see to it that you're safe under my care. And... I'm happy that you were beside me to witness that." He smiles shyly as he rubs the back of his head.
Moin looks up at him fondly and Diavolo could tell that she feels strongly to him. What he doesn't understand is when he approaches her and thinks that they grew closer, she seems to take a step back and draws an invisible wall around her. He couldn't help but to be curious and the mystery that surrounds her leaves him wanting and pushing for more.
"Would it trouble you if I ask you more about yourself?"
Her smile slowly disappears and for some reason, it pained Diavolo to see this. He wanted to be close but she wouldn't let him. He wanted to hold her and make her feel safe with him but it's always a never-ending cycle of push and pull. He feels helpless against a human despite being the strongest demon in all of Devildom. Just what have this human done to him that makes him feel this way?
Moin looks away and hugs herself, there was only silence but her eyes are looking at somewhere far away.
"Why do you want to know more about me? Is it for the safety of your kingdom?" she looks at him with a glimpse of sadness in her gaze. "Or is there something more?"

Hope
~ Chapter 36 ~
Summary: Dean and Sam Winchester save a young woman —Natalie Johnson, from a coven of witches who are after her deceased grandmothers spell book. At first Dean doesn’t trust her, will he ever? Natalie is just simply a woman who gets roped up in the supernatural world from a mistake her grandmother made.
Pairing: Dean x OC
Warning: Age gap, slow burn, smut, language , gore.
Word Count: 2,790
A/N: Sorry I’ve been kinda MIA this week. I’ve been busier than normal and it’s looking like it might stay that way for a while. I might only be able to post on weekends now, so maybe only once or twice a week but it will be weekly updates, I promise! Happy reading! ♥️
A few days later, the case was finally wrapped up. Dean and Sam had tracked down the source of the murders to a witch performing some sort of twisted blood ritual. It hadn’t been an easy hunt, but they managed to take her down before more lives were lost. Now, with the job behind them, they were back on the road, heading toward the bunker.
The drive back was quiet, both brothers tired from the last few days of chaos. The familiar rumble of the Impala was the only sound for a long stretch of highway, until Dean finally broke the silence.
"You ever think about age?" Dean asked suddenly, his voice thoughtful, almost hesitant.
Sam glanced over, confused. "What do you mean?"
Dean kept his eyes on the road, one hand gripping the steering wheel. He shrugged, trying to sound casual, but Sam could tell there was more behind it. "I’ve never been with someone this young before."
Sam blinked, his mind immediately connecting the dots. He leaned back in his seat, his brow furrowing slightly. "You’re talking about Natalie."
Dean gave a quick nod, his lips pressing into a thin line. He wasn’t exactly comfortable talking about this kind of thing, but with everything going on in his head lately, it was hard to ignore. "Yeah. I mean, she’s not a kid or anything, but there’s a pretty big age gap between us. She hasn’t even hit her 30s yet."
Sam considered this for a moment, trying to gauge where Dean was coming from. He could tell his brother was wrestling with something deeper here. "You’re worried about the age difference?"
Dean sighed, finally glancing at Sam. "It’s more than that. It’s just... I’ve been through a lot more, seen a lot more. Hell, I’ve done a lot more. I’m not some wide-eyed kid anymore, and she’s... well, she’s still figuring things out."
Sam nodded slowly, understanding where Dean was coming from. "But she’s not that much younger, Dean. And she’s tougher than most people I know. She can handle herself."
"I know she can," Dean muttered. "That’s not what I’m worried about. I just... I don’t want to screw her up, you know?"
Sam looked at him, a slight smile on his face. "You’re not going to screw her up. If anything, you’ve been helping her, Dean. She’s not some fragile girl—you know that. She’s been through her own stuff."
Dean nodded, but the hesitation was still there. "Yeah, but she hasn’t been through what we’ve been through. And I don’t want her to feel like she’s gotta get roped into this life any deeper than she already is."
Sam paused, considering his next words carefully. "Dean, she’s already made her choice. You didn’t force her into anything—Natalie’s a grown woman, and she knows what she’s getting into. If she’s with you, it’s because she wants to be, not because she’s stuck."
Dean sighed again, his grip on the wheel tightening slightly. "It’s just... I never planned for this. Not with someone her age. I guess I don’t want her to wake up one day and realize she’s wasting her time with some guy who’s too old and too broken to give her what she deserves."
Sam’s expression softened, understanding more clearly now where Dean’s insecurities were coming from. "Dean, if she’s with you, it’s because she sees you. The real you. And she’s okay with it. It’s not about your past or how many years separate you—it’s about how you treat each other."
Dean was quiet for a moment, letting Sam’s words sink in. He had never been the kind of guy to think about settling down, and he sure as hell never thought about whether or not someone younger would be interested in him long-term. But with Natalie, things were different. He cared about her in a way he hadn’t expected, and that scared him.
"I don’t know, man," Dean said finally. "I just don’t want to mess this up."
"You won’t," Sam replied, his voice firm. "You care about her, and she cares about you. That’s enough to figure out the rest."
Dean glanced at his brother, offering a small, grateful nod. Sam always had a way of cutting through the noise, of seeing things clearer than Dean could sometimes.
The Impala continued to hum down the highway, the quiet returning for a while as they both mulled over the conversation. But as they neared the bunker, Dean felt a little more at ease. Maybe Sam was right—maybe he didn’t need to have it all figured out just yet.
One day at a time.
When they finally pulled into the bunker’s garage, Dean killed the engine and leaned back in his seat, exhaling a long breath. It had been a tough case, and they were both tired, but the conversation with Sam had lightened something in him. He wasn’t used to talking about his feelings like that, but with Natalie in the picture, things were shifting.
Sam grabbed his stuff from the backseat and gave Dean a quick look before heading inside. "Call her," he said, his tone casual but encouraging.
Dean rolled his eyes but couldn’t help the small smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, yeah."
After Sam disappeared into the bunker, Dean sat in the Impala for a minute, thinking about everything that had been said. He didn’t have all the answers, and he wasn’t sure how this thing with Natalie would play out in the long run, but Sam was right—she was with him because she wanted to be. And that was enough for now.
Dean pulled out his phone, scrolling through his contacts until he found her name. After a moment’s hesitation, he hit call.
It rang once, twice, and then he heard her voice, warm and familiar.
"Hey, Dean."
Hearing her voice made him smile. "Hey. You, uh, busy?"
"Not really," she said, her tone light. "How’d the case go?"
Dean leaned back in his seat, feeling more relaxed now. "Wrapped it up. But, uh... thought maybe I could come by. If you’re up for some company."
There was a brief pause on the other end, and then Natalie’s voice came through, soft and amused. "Yeah, I’d like that."
Dean smiled to himself, feeling lighter than he had in days. "Alright. See you soon."
He hung up and sat there for a second longer, letting the feeling settle. Maybe things were different now, and maybe there were still a lot of questions hanging in the air, but one thing was clear—he wasn’t going to push her away.
Not this time.
Dean had always driven fast, and tonight was no different. The Impala roared down the highway, the speedometer creeping higher than it probably should, but he didn’t care. His mind was focused, sharp, and the only thing pulling him forward was the thought of seeing Natalie again. He hadn’t realized how much he needed to see her until Sam gave him that extra nudge.
Forty minutes later—despite the drive usually taking an hour—he pulled up in front of Natalie’s house. The familiar sight of her small, cozy place brought a sense of calm he hadn’t felt all day. It was strange to feel at ease here, but somehow, Natalie had that effect on him.
He killed the engine and sat there for a moment, staring at the house. The lights were on, a warm glow spilling out from the windows, and he could see movement inside—probably Natalie getting things ready, just like she always did. It made him smile.
Taking a deep breath, Dean grabbed his jacket from the seat and stepped out of the car. As he walked up the steps to her front door, he found himself a little nervous, though he wasn’t sure why. He and Natalie had been through a lot together, and after the other night, there was definitely something more between them. He just wasn’t used to this... to caring this much.
Before he could overthink it any further, the door opened, and there she was.
Natalie stood in the doorway, looking as if she had been waiting for him. Her hair was down, and she wore a soft, oversized sweater that looked like the most comfortable thing in the world. She smiled when she saw him, and instantly, all of Dean’s tension melted away.
“You got here fast,” she teased lightly, stepping aside to let him in.
Dean chuckled, stepping into the warmth of her house. “Yeah, well, I drive fast. You know that.”
“I’m starting to figure that out,” she said with a grin, closing the door behind him.
Dean turned to face her, and for a moment, they just stood there, the air between them charged but comfortable. It was different from the other night night—there wasn’t the same urgency or heat, but something deeper. There was an unspoken understanding that whatever had happened between them wasn’t just a fleeting thing. It was real, and it was still there, simmering quietly between them.
“How’re you feeling?” Dean asked, his voice softer now, his eyes searching hers.
Natalie hesitated for a moment, then gave a small smile. “Better. A lot better.”
Dean nodded, stepping closer to her. “Good.”
She looked up at him, her hazel eyes warm and inviting. “I’m glad you came.”
Dean’s heart gave a little tug at her words, and before he could stop himself, he reached out, gently brushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. The simple gesture made her smile, and in that moment, everything felt right. No overthinking, no worrying about the past or the future—just the two of them, here and now.
“Me too,” he said, his voice low.
They stood there for a moment longer, the space between them shrinking as Dean moved just a little closer. His hand rested on her arm, and he could feel the warmth of her skin through the soft fabric of her sweater. Natalie didn’t pull away; instead, she leaned into his touch, her body relaxing in a way that told him she felt just as comfortable around him as he did around her.
“I was thinking,” she said, breaking the quiet but keeping her voice light, “maybe tonight we could just... hang out. Watch a movie or something?”
Dean smiled, a small laugh escaping him. “You keep pulling me into these movie nights. Not that I’m complaining.”
Natalie shrugged, her grin widening. “What can I say? You make good company.”
Dean chuckled, feeling the ease between them settle in. “Alright. What’ve you got in mind?”
Before long, they were settled on the couch, a couple of beers in hand, and Natalie had picked out a movie—something light and easy. Dean had expected to feel a little awkward, considering the weight of everything that had happened between them, but to his surprise, it was easy. It felt natural, like they had been doing this for years.
They sat close, but not too close. There wasn’t any pressure to make anything happen tonight, and that was fine. They both knew there was something more between them now, and they didn’t need to rush into anything.
As the movie played, Natalie leaned back against the cushions, her feet tucked up underneath her. Every so often, Dean would glance over at her, catching the soft smile on her lips as she watched the screen, her focus on the story. She looked... content. And that, more than anything, made him feel like he was exactly where he needed to be.
About halfway through the movie, Natalie shifted a little closer to him, her body leaning against his. It was a subtle movement, but Dean responded instinctively, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and pulling her into his side. She sighed softly, relaxing into him, and it felt so natural that neither of them thought twice about it.
“Thanks for coming over,” Natalie said after a while, her voice soft.
Dean looked down at her, his hand resting comfortably on her arm. “Anytime.”
She smiled up at him, her eyes meeting his. For a moment, they just looked at each other, the warmth of the evening settling between them like a quiet promise.
And in that moment, Dean realized that whatever this was—whatever they were building—it was something worth holding on to.
Natalie shifted slightly against him, her head resting on his shoulder as the movie continued to play in the background. She seemed at ease, relaxed in a way that made Dean feel like he didn’t need to overthink anything. There was no tension, no second-guessing. Just the two of them, comfortable and content in each other’s presence.
Dean glanced down at her, a soft smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He cared for her—a lot more than he had initially expected. Natalie had wormed her way into his life, into his heart, without him even realizing it. And now, here they were, sitting together like it was the most natural thing in the world.
It had been a long time since Dean had allowed himself to really like someone, to feel something deeper than just attraction. But with Natalie, it was different. There was an ease to it, a sense of understanding and trust that made him feel like maybe—just maybe—he could let himself have something real with her.
He hadn’t planned for this, hadn’t seen it coming, but now that it was here, he wasn’t going to push it away. Natalie wasn’t just someone passing through his life. She was someone who had become important to him, someone he wanted to protect, to be there for.
Natalie shifted again, her eyes lifting to meet his. She smiled softly, her eyes reflecting the quiet peace of the moment. “What’s on your mind?” she asked, her voice light but curious.
Dean hesitated for a second, then shrugged, giving her a small, genuine smile. “Just thinking.”
“About what?”
He looked at her for a moment, debating whether or not to tell her exactly what he was thinking. But instead of diving into the deeper stuff, he decided to keep it simple. “About how this is nice. Just... being here with you.”
Natalie’s smile widened, her eyes softening as she looked at him. “Yeah, it is.”
For a moment, they just looked at each other, and Dean felt that quiet connection between them grow stronger. There was no need to say anything else, no need to bring up what had happened the night before. They both understood what it meant, and that was enough.
Dean squeezed her shoulder gently, pulling her a little closer as they turned their attention back to the movie. He didn’t know what the future held for them, didn’t know where this would go. But for the first time in a long time, he wasn’t scared of it. He wasn’t trying to push her away, or protect himself from whatever could go wrong.
He liked her. He cared for her deeply. And that was enough for now.
The movie ended, and Natalie stretched lazily, still curled up beside Dean. The night had grown quiet, the warmth of the house making them both feel drowsy. Dean hadn’t moved much, content just to sit there with her, but as the credits rolled, he figured it was probably time to head back to the bunker.
“I should probably let you get some sleep,” Dean said, his voice soft as he glanced down at her.
Natalie looked up at him, her expression unreadable for a moment. “You don’t have to leave,” she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Dean’s heart skipped a beat at her words. He hadn’t expected her to ask him to stay, but the invitation was clear. There was no pressure, no expectations—just a simple offer. And as he looked into her eyes, he could see that she meant it.
He nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. “Alright. I’ll stay.”
Natalie smiled back, her eyes full of warmth and something deeper—something unspoken, but understood.
They didn’t say much after that. Instead, they made their way to her bedroom, the air between them comfortable and easy. There was no rush, no urgency like the night before. Just a quiet understanding that they didn’t need to figure everything out right away.
As they settled into bed, Natalie curled up against him, her head resting on his chest. Dean wrapped his arm around her, holding her close, and for the first time in a long time, he felt... at peace.
He didn’t know what tomorrow would bring, but for now, this was enough.

Yennaia bits in ep 3.05 (Part 2)
So, after her conversation with Philippa, Yen bumps into Istredd. Istredd tells Yen about some ancient magic book that conveniently allows time travel. Don’t start thinking about how Yen might misuse that after certain ~events later in the season @thegirl20, just stoppit now
Anyway, Istredd and Triss tell Yen that the book is in Stregobor’s office and somebody needs to get it. Yen agrees.
Meanwhile, Vilgefortz and Geralt are talking and Geralt is seeing several clues that will come into play later. They see Istredd and Yen talking and Vilgefortz ~casually mentions that Tissaia told him that Yen and Istredd used to get up to naughty stuff in Tor Lara as youngsters.
(Why on earth would he and Tissaia be talking about Yennefer’s teenage love life??)
Yen and Geralt meet and then there’s a dance that Geralt has never heard of, but knows the moves to. During the dance, they hatch a plot to retrieve the important book, by causing a distraction.
Tissaia watches them dance, smiling.
After the dance, Yennefer goes to speak to Artaud and gets him in on the plan.
Geralt challenges Istredd to a pretend fight to serve as a distraction. Tissaia watches, but does not intervene.
She does appear to shield her girls from it though. Even though she is tiny.
(Either that or she’s getting ready to blast them both into oblivion for spoiling her girl’s party.)
Yen goes to Stregobor’s office, and finds evidence of the missing girls there. Meanwhile Geralt calls for a truce, which is a signal for Artaud to fall into a pile of glasses, delighting Sabrina.
Tissaia and Triss go to comfort Istredd, which I only wanted to show because of how little Tissaia is.
Stregobor comes in and finds Yen snooping and they argue, but everyone else comes in at that point and we have a Scooby Doo-esque unmasking scene where Yen, Triss and Istredd tell everyone that Stregobor is behind everything.
Yen says he tried to kill her.
And Tissaia looks like she wants to incinerate him on the spot.
They get out the time travel book and tell everybody that Stregobor stole it so he can rid the world of elves. He tries to plead his case but Tissaia cuts him off.
This is very gracious of her, considering the last time she wanted him to be punished she basically had to come back to Yen and say ‘Ummm, they’re not going to do anything to him, also they think you’re a traitor and you’re going to have to kill Cahir to prove you’re not’.
He’s taken away to wizard jail protesting his innocence and Tissaia says ominous, fate-tempting things.
She thanks Yen (and Geralt as an afterthought) for saving the evening.
We don’t see what she does with the book, but we can assume that it will definitely fall into the wrong hands at some point.
Yen notices Chekov’s Tissaia’s bracelet on the floor and picks it up.
Everybody goes back to the party and Tissaia makes a toast to peace, and to Yen and Geralt, but mostly Yen.
Geralt tells Yen he loves her, she doesn’t say it back. (Like Tissaia didn’t say it back to Vilgefortz in ep 2.) And they kiss. Tissaia smiles.
The party ends and Geralt and Yen go back to their room and reminisce about all of the events while in the bath and then while having sex.
In the morning(?) they’re getting dressed and they start to discuss Philippa’s weird warnings, leading them to discuss Lydia, which makes Geralt ask about Tissaia’s bracelet.
Now, I don’t mean to be sexist here, but I have never known a man to glance at a set of earrings and take note of what they were made of. But apparently Geralt did.
They know what it is made of and where it is mined. Conveniently.
Then they discuss a painting Vilgefortz showed Geralt, and Yen says that’s where her dodgy portal took her. Vilgefortz is not subtle. And neither is the writing of this scene.
Suddenly, Phillippa’s warning makes sense.
They spring into action, Geralt picking up his sword and Yennefer chanting over Tissaia’s bracelet.
Yen is doing a location spell to find Tissaia, to make sure she’s safe.
Yen does not take kindly to being told she doesn’t have time to care about Tissaia’s safety. She vehemently tells Geralt that she’s not abandoning Tissaia.
And goes back to trying to find her.
Geralt heads out into the hallway where we hear that something bad is happening.
And that’s the cliffhanger!!
(Apologies if I missed a whole strand of storyline - it was difficult trying to do this in a linear fashion!!)

@hinnymicrofic 4/10: scream
I just realized that I think the fic I wrote today actually fits todays prompt! content warning: mildly steamy due to teenage boy thoughts
"Breakfast is ready, dears. Ron, will you please go wake your sister?" Molly asked as she sat down a plate of bacon on the kitchen table before making her way to the garden.
"I'm not goin' up there! Last time she threw a book at me! Couldn't walk normally for a week," He protested through a mouthful of bacon.
"I got it!" Fred and George called in unison from the couch, rising with mischievous grins. "Oh gin-gin!" George sang as they climbed up the stairs. Suddenly an alarming sequence of bangs, screams, and crashes erupted from the floor above, followed by a pair of footsteps pounding the floor as the twins came running back down to the table. They each hopped into an empty seat on either side of Harry, stealing his and Ron's plates as they casually acted as though they had been there eating the whole time. A moment later a very angry, and wet, Ginny appeared in the doorway. Harry threw a hand over his mouth in an attempt to suppress his laughter as Ginny stood there, water dripping off of her pajamas and onto the hardwood floor.
The twins sighed, shaking their heads, as they walked across the room to where Ginny was standing. "Now Ginny, we've talked about this before. You're supposed to put your clothes on after you shower," said Fred quipped.
"You absolute gits!" She barked as she lunged towards them.
"Kids are so ungrateful these days, don't you think Fred? Here we are, trying to impart our wisdom onto our dear sister and she attacks us!"
"Right you are, George, it seems our little Ginnykins has forgotten her manners,"
"I'm going to kill you!" She shrieked. The noise must've caught Molly's attention because she now came rushing in to separate the three. "Now what on earth is going on in here?" She demanded, quickly turning to and casting a spell to dry her off.
"The bloody prats conjured a rain cloud above my bed!" Ginny cried.
"Brilliant," Ron breathed.
The twins gasped in mock offense at the accusation, but before they could say anything Molly began, "You two are to apologize to your sister this instant. And you'll spend the rest of the morning degnoming the garden!"
"We're so very sorry Ginny," Fred teased.
"Yes, our sincerest apologies. We do hope you can find it in your cold, dead, heart to forgive us," George continued, earning a growl from Ginny, before they departed.
Ginny grumpily made her way to the table and dropped into the seat next to Harry, lightly brushing his arm in the process. The innocent contact sent a jolt of electricity through his body as he prayed the blush spreading across his cheeks wouldn't be noticed by her, or worse, Ron. When he could finally feel his heart beat returning to only slightly fast than usual, he turned to face her. "I don't reckon you're letting them off the hook that easily, are you?" He mused.
A playful grin appeared on her face. "Hell no. Just gotta wait till mums distracted before I can strike back," She said as she filled her plate with bacon. "Plus it's more fun to wait. Let them be scared a couple days, then attack when they least expect it," She winked at him. He could feel the heat returning to his face, among other places, as his mind raced with different ways he could help her plan it, and how she would thank him afterwards.
"Well whatever psycho plan you come up with this time, just please try to keep me out of it. I want to give them any reason to come after me next," Ron ordered, and suddenly Harry was brought back to reality and found he had never been more uncomfortable sitting at this table.

Ok so after receiving a very weird Anon ask, I think I must reiterate again why I insist on using the japanese version of Engage's text to make my meta
In linguistic, we learn that all language are a system of codes and sign, the letters, the spelling, the semantics. All of it is a system of communication that manifest differently depending on which part of the world you are living in. Translation's goal is to be able to translate the meaning from one of that system to the other. However, the drasctical differences between the original language and the target language (language spoken by the people for whom is destined the translated text) makes it that some phenomeon are doomed to be lost in translation, especially japanese to english.
Allow me to give you an example. So basically, in Awakening, Azure/Inigo have a support conversation with both Robin/Reflet but his support with F!Robin are different. In both, Inigo refers to Robin as ルフレさん/Reflet-san which would be translated literaly as Mr. Robin or Miss Robin. さん is an honorific. Likewise, Robin calls Inigo アズールさん/Azure-san so Mr.Inigo. Those are non existent in the English version because of adaptation. Likewise, Inigo and F!Robin both refer to each other using the 2nd person prounon あなた/anata, default.
However, Inigo also have a special event in the Hot spring scramble DLC with a completely different conversation depending on whether or not Inigo married F!Robin. And in the version in which F!Robin and Inigo are married, Inigo dropped the honorifics and only calls Robin by her name ルフレ and instead of using anata/あなた he switched to kimi/君 which is more casual. This change exist to signify something, the writers didn't changed it just because. And the likely interpretation is that it's to show how Inigo got closer to Robin and is being more casual because she is his wife. Besides, it's emphasized to be a characteristic meant to be highlighted in the context of Inigo's own characterization because F!Robin still refers to Inigo using honorifics and anata. This is something that in English cannot be rendered as such. Instead the localization tried to adapt that by having Inigo use pet names. Now where it's getting tight.
This conversation is divided into 2 part. In the second part, for like every of Robin's married DLC convos, there is a kiss scene. So after that kiss scene, Inigo, who as I pointed out, was using kimi and stop using an honorific to refer to Robin for the whole conversation, ended up saying this
アズール :うぅ…まさかそっちから来るだなんて…さすがはルフレさん。僕なんかまだまだですね。
Ahh.... I never expected you to do that... You are truly amazing Robin... I still have a long way to go.
ルフレ :どうして急に敬語なんですか?
Why are you suddenly using keigo/honnorfic language.
In this line, Inigo reverted back to call Robin ルフレさん/Reflet san and also used desu which is contrasting with how, in the entire dialogue prior to this line, he was only using casual speech and calling Robin simply by ルフレ. And when he answer Inigo just say that he wanted to "I wanted to go back to the the begining" as in go back to the past, so before the two got married and thus when Inigo was speaking to Robin in a more polite and less casual way that he is currently doing. Again, this cannot be rendered as such in English, so the english localization tried to adapt it. You can check a translation of that full dialogue offered by @four-loose-screws
This is an example of the Awakening writing team using the semantics and rules of their own language to provide a unique dialogue that contributes to characterization and romance in this dialogue. And it needs to be precised but most of Awakening's dialogue, Inigo's in particular were written by Nami Komuro, who was in charge as the scenario director for Engage. While people miscredit her as the author of Fates and Awakening's stories, she did provide character writing for both games and in Engage, this style is all the more obvious.
So back to Engage since it's mainly the game I talk about when talking about localization and using jpn text. Most of the reason why I decided to check was because I needed to give the writing a fair chance since I was really dumbfounded by so many people calling a story I found to be perfectly decent "the worst of the worst". And at that time I remember I came unto @dancerladyaqua 's post about how Alear speaks in hiragana and it immediately rang a bell and motivated me to go check the jpn version. And boi, I wasn't disappointed. I think it's fair to say that a lot of my love for Engage's story came from always making analysis for that game. And thus I noticed a lot of subtleties that sadly didn't necessarily made it in the English text.
So, keep in mind the example I gave about Inigo and Robin's conversation. Robin's line about mentionning Inigo switching to a more polite dialect was changed because it no longer made sense with how they had to adapt the dialogue for translation.
So an example of this : Veyle.
In chapter 10, when Alear realize that Veyle was the hooded girl, what they say is this :
別人?でも、あの包帯は私が巻いたものです。
あれは一体
literal translation : A different person ? But it's the bandage I putted on her. What in the world is that ?
The reason why Alear is saying that isn't so much because of Veyle's exterior appearance, but, as I mentionned in the video I made, because of Veyle's speech pattern switching between her being her regular self and her switching to her other self.
Regular Veyle uses different conjuction and expression then "Other Veyle". Regular Veyle speaks in a childish and cutesey manner. She is using "dayo" rather then "desu", much like Nil, which is meant to convey her sweet nature, and "nee". This is something Veyle also shares with Mini Anna and Tiki, to make her speech sound innocent and childish. However, "Other Veyle" is using keigo/honorific language. She is using the masu/desu conjuctions and speaks in a polite manner but it's here meant to convey her arrogance and make her sound more mature. Alear only meet Veyle a few times, sure, but her speecj pattern establishing her innocent and a bit childish personality makes it impossible for anyone to believe that regular Veyle would use the same speech as her alternate self. Likewise, imaginating Other Veyle speaking like Regular Veyle is unbelievable, her personality wouldn't match up.
The way a character speaks shows their personality, so Alear's cue here is meant to comment on how drastically different the two Veyle are acting, making it such that it's unbelievable that they are the same person. Hence what Alear means by
別人?でも、あの包帯は私が巻いたものです。
あれは一体
is
Why is she acting so different ? I can't believe it's the same girl I put a bandage on !
Instead the localization translated it as "No, it can't be. But... that's the bandage I used to dress her wound" which is much more literal because of course, they couldn't keep it as such knowing how rooted in the jpn text this line was.
Besides :
Both Veyle use different alphabets. Veyle is using mostly hiragana, Other Veyle is using kanji. One makes Veyle sounds more childish, the other fits with how Other Veyle have a more mature speech.
So again, the difference in how both Veyle speaks is both phonetic and alphabetic.
But because English have only one alphabet and that it's very hard to render all those nuance, the English version relied only on the performance of the voice actors.
So, indeed, looking into the japanese version is worth when it comes to point those little changes that were lost.
Also. Again, translation and localization are very different things. Mainly because of the strategy.
Most of the time, translation are sourcist which is to say that they focus on being more accurate to the original language when translating the text.
Localzation is mainly targetist. That's to say they don't care about accurency because their goal is to priozitize making the text understandble to the target language. An example of this would be the French translation of One thousand and a night by Antoine Galland where Galland will details his translation choices, and the strategy is targetist since he admits putting an emphasis on making it seems familiar to his audience rather then being accurate, hence he would censor some part of the original or try to adapt. And by adapt I mean turning a gazelle into a hind because his audience had never saw a gazelle in their life and they are both graceful animal so never mind that gazelle are bovid and not cervid or changing arabic pastries into cream pie.
However, the downside of this strategy is the possiblity that the style of the writing is lost. And I am gonna choose an example I covered recently. So remember what I said about Rafal's line in chapter 6 of the Fell Xenologue in the recent post I made analyzing the meaning of his chest ?
That's how they were translated
If we are talking about sense, yes, they are pretty accurate and all, but they feel so flat compared to the japanse text.
In the japanese version, Rafal in reality says this
"I don't understand ! I don't understand ! My chest hurts... My chest is always hurting ! Always !" (pic 1)
"My chest hurts... It still hurts so much... Big sis, you liar ! You told me that the pain would finally go away !! Yet it still hurts so much !!"
The japanese text is much more dynamic and full of emotion thanks to the repetition. The repetition of "I don't understand" resistitue much better Rafal's confusion and the pain he feels while saying this. In the same way, the repetition of "zutto !" accuentuate his inner pain and fits with how he is supposed to be trapped in a never ending circle of pain who can only repeat. Rafale use a lot of repetition because he is subjected to the repetitive pain of his chest which makes him goes insane.
Again, the repetion in pic 2 is not only meant to parallel that line, but to also shows that Rafal's pain is not over. It's also a very short, simple, dry and childish line. It's showing Rafal's instable state of mind, him being in a genuine state of despair after losing the only person that matter to him. His "Neesan" is here sounding imature to make this line strike emotionally. And the repetiton o the line "It hurts" is creating a rythm. All of those factors comes from how the sentence are constructed to show the extend of Rafal's pain and how he feels inside.
And... maybe I should say it, normally I probably wouldn't need it, but well. What I just explained is what is helping voice actor know how to read their cue. Ponctuaction and semantics's are the key to a sentence's structure because they show the tone in which a sentence needs to be read. If you compare Y.Chang and T. Eguchi's performance, you will see what I am talking about. While both are great, Y.Chang's performance is adaptated to a text that feels less violent despite it's simplicity and repetitiveness compared to how Eguchi sound like he is on the verge of his life, and no I am not exagerating. While Y.Chang's voice is quieter, Eguchi's performance is much more violent. I think you shoul really check to compare. It's really showing how the same scene can be interpreted in very different way and how much it changes how the scene feels in general. In short, the English dialogue being much less violent and dynamic then the jpn one means that the emotions are shown differently thus and read differently. You have two different intepretations of Rafal's pain because the two text indicates two different reading.
My translation is in that case for accurate to the jpn one then the English one because I tried to to render the rythm, the style of the jpn version and all the impression it evokes.
Basically a sourcist translation might usually be more approriate to restitute the style in which is written a piece of media.
So me using the jpn version isn't because I want to sheet on the localization or "to twist things to make my points to an otherwise non-Japanese audience" as someone recently claimmed. I am doing this because I want to analyze the writing of Engage performed in it's original language and sharing it with other fans who might be curious about it as well, because I like doing that, I have a blast doing that, this put a big goofy smile on my face because this play on the shape using language and words makes the little literary student I am fly over the moon. I never tried to manipulate anyone. If I wanted to then I wouldn't share the literal japanese text both in screenshot and as a typed text that which you can copy paste unto Google translation or Deepl translation to check whether or not I am saying truth or not. The comment I am making on the jpn text is my interpretation of those language phenomenon that I am trying to make based on a long and detailed analysis on the text to understand what the game is trying to do writing wise. This is what I learn to do in my studies of literary student I am not claimming to be an expert in japanese, it's a language I am still trying to learn and practice. If I am saying anything incorrect, then I am sure that some of the fans who understand japanese as well since there is a lot of fans who do would correct me and I wouldn't mind at all. In fact, I often communicate with the japanese side of the fanbase for Engage and so far, none of them took any problem with what I said and I would even ask them about the things I do not understand. I am pretty sure I made that clear in some of my post.
Anyway, if any of the member of that fandom who know japanese think I am saying something incorrect or advancing an incorrect intepretation, feel free to correct me at any moment.

suwon moments that made us look like clowns
by sua’s armor | october 23, 2020
they’re dating! it’s official, hybe was so smooth for doing that- honestly props to sua, instead of making their dating a big deal (which it isn’t ofc) she just casually called her boyfriend who happens to be seventeen’s wonwoo okay yeah and expect us to just slkdhgfkdhfgjhtkgh not combust istg. they’re cute i’m jealous let’s go
##CLIP ONE | 181128 [bangtan bomb] hurriedly talking to friends backstage
“Isn’t your performance next?” A familiar voice emerged from the side making Sua whip her head from the camera, the smile on her face growing wider.
“I was watching your performance, you sound so good.” Moving away from the shot, Sua opens her arms to hug the male.
“Hello sunbaenim.” A deeper voice follows behind making Sua bow in their direction. “Kyeom I’m going ahead in the waiting area. Good luck on your performance. Fighting!~” The member cheered her on, causing Sua to freeze on camera.
She knows she should be careful and wary in front of the cameras, but even if they pick something about “her strange body language” the team could easily edit the whole clip and not upload them at all.
Watching his back enter the room, Sua could only give out a sigh of relief. Somehow, whenever he’s around, she can’t help feeling out of breath. Like he’s pulling her in under some strange spell, deep in her thoughts Sua had forgotten the cameras rolling in front of her.
If it weren’t for Dokyeom.
“Why are you suddenly silent? Are you nervous?” Dokyeom’s voice adds loudly causing the female to laugh shyly.
“I’m filming a short clip for something, want to say hi?” Ignoring the thoughts in her head, praying that the camera didn’t catch any “suspicious behavior” given that Wonwoo was a few feet apart from her, hoping he wasn’t caught on camera.
Then again, it’s not like ARMY’s don’t know about her friendship with Dokyeom, so she could hide her expression and blame it on her nerves.
“Hello ARMY!~ Seventeen’s DK.” Waving his hand funnily in the camera, making Sua laugh. “Please cheer lots when they’re all on stage!”
Dokyeom looks away from the camera for a second, taking a glance at Sua, “Are you feeling better?”
The female nods her head, lips in between her teeth, knowing fully well she hasn’t recovered from their interaction, but she also knows better than to hide things from Dokyeom, knowing him he’s already dissected the whole situation.
“Don’t worry! I’m sure the fans will love you out there.” Dokyeom reassured once more before walking Sua back to their waiting room.
And people thought this was all about Sua and Dokyeom being soft for each other, and while yes it shows a lot of their friendship the other member was literally Wonwoo! Like? Realizing this now, I would be flustered too, and Dokyeom is honestly such a king for distracting Sua.
##CLIP TWO | [190120] Chilly Night Vlive
“Aren’t you cold?” It’s very cold, so get some hot packs, turn on your heater, and stay inside!~ If you do go outside, wear multiple layers and be with people so you can huddle for warmth.” Fixing her coat and wearing her hoodie, feeling the blast of air from her studio.
“I’m inside right now and I turned the air condition to the lowest setting, it’s at 28 at the moment because I want to feel warm in my coat. If I turn on the heater it would be too hot and I don’t want to remove multiple layers of clothing.” Sua admits as she scrolls through the comments looking for interesting questions.
“Yesterday… I went outside, early in the morning.” Sua smiles at herself remembering the details that occurred last night.
“I woke up extra early and went on a jog and on my way home I stopped by one of the convenience stores since I was hungry, and tired. I was so red, my cheeks were red from the cold because I didn’t bring an extra mask, the one you put on your mouth.”
“You didn’t wear a face mask?” I wore a face mask, it was the other one, I was jogging and I removed it for a while but I didn’t bring the other one.” Sua stops, lost in her own thoughts as she tries to remember the same item Wonwoo bought her.
At the same time her phone pings, twice, making her glance down at the incoming messages. Opening her notifications she immediately recognized the familiar chat ID of the same person.
wonuu you mean a scarf?
wonuu can’t believe i’m reduced to being a stranger in your live, and we barely began dating
Scoffing at her phone, Sua attempts to hide the growing smile from her face knowing that Wonwoo is currently watching her live. Glancing back at the camera she scoots her chair closer, continuing the story as if nothing happened.
“It was a scarf! I looked it up just now, I forgot to bring a scarf and my cheeks and ears were all red. So I went to the convenience store nearby, and what’s funny is that I didn’t buy a scarf! Instead I bought spicy ramen to cool me down, which I can say is very effective.”
Her phone pings once more, knowing fully well it’s another witty remark from Wonwoo. Choosing to ignore it, Sua scans the comments instead.
“Who’s that?” You mean on my phone? They were message notifications from a close friend, we were talking and I forgot to tell them I was doing live, I turned off my notifications already, don't worry.”
Another thank you to Dokyeom for accidentally spilling that Wonwoo was the person who gave Sua the scarf. We wouldn't be able to know about the whole thing. All the ARMYs and CARATs who went back to watch this video
##CLIP THREE | [190717] Happy Wonwoo Day
“Did you have a good birthday?” Yes I did. I had a great birthday all thanks to you.” Wonwoo’s soft yet deep voice filled the room as he smiled in his thoughts.
“I haven’t gotten anything from our members but a close friend did get me something. We celebrated and gave me flowers for breakfast.” Recalling the flowers Sua gave her while they hung out in the early morning together.
“Actually it was a brunch since I had the day off, I slept in and then when I woke up there were flowers. It was very nice to wake up to flowers on your birthday. I didn’t think much about celebrating my birthday, I just wanted to take a rest.”
“They sent me macarons and I shared them with the members. I think there were some left, but I’m not sure. It wasn’t just macarons but a basket of sweets that was delivered to the dorm and I woke up late.” Wonwoo chuckles, scrunching his nose at the thought.
“The members didn’t wake me up, so when the gifts were delivered it was just sitting in the living room, the food. The members must’ve placed the flowers beside me, but when I woke up I remember the maknaes asking if they could have some of them.”
“And I was confused, they said there was food for me so I went up and that was when I found it. They were teasing me about it, but we shared them all.”
Ugh, it's me, I'm editing and screaming because? Apparently the subtitles were wrong because Wonwoo said special friend and Sua sent the gift since she was overseas during the time T T
##CLIP FOUR | [200614] Watch if you’re bored (Beware of frustration part 2!)
“Now let’s make one for Sua.” Hoseok smiled at the camera before glancing at the beads looking for inspiration.
“Why Sua? Honestly, I wanted to make her one suddenly. She just came to mind, yeah. I wonder where she is right now.” Hoseok mumbles as he picks the charms carefully, taking out a heart and diamond one for her.
“Sua is really happy right now, and her energy makes me happy. I saw her last time, it was hours ago. Honestly it was not that long but she’s really cheerful and adorable.” Hoseok smiles as he begins to form the bracelet.
“Seohyun-ah likes pink and white, but since she’s extra cheerful and lovely, I will add yellow. She can have yellow, pink, and white? Does it make sense? The charms…” Hoseok stops scanning the desk for the charms he set aside for her bracelet.
“I took a heart charm and a diamond one prepared since she’s so bright these days, I’m happy seeing her happy. Also it’s almost her birthday, maybe I will give this to her as a present along with something else.” Hoseok mulls over the desk, eyes widened as he spots the charms he’s been looking for.
“Though, I don’t think I can beat Sua’s presents. It’s not a competition but she always gives sentimental gifts, and I think it’s not just me but the rest of the members also keep the gifts she gave us over the past years.” Hoseok laughs as he shares a few things about Sua.
“It’s not that I throw away the gifts other members give me, but the members give presents I can use and are conventional, while Sua gives us gifts that warms the heart almost? She’s a sweet kid and is very emotional.” Hoseok nods his head, before laughing to himself.
“Should I say these things about her? I feel like Sua tries to look cool, and firm, but she’s like marshmallow. Does that make sense? Ah this live… It’s getting sentimental.”
“It feels like I’m in Seohyun’s shoes. This would look cool to her though. Being happy fits her the best.”
A heart??? A diamond?? Yeah right… They're so cute, and the members knowing about them, it's just so adorable, I'm scremaingejsfdkghk. Also Hoseok saying that Sua is happy these days, I'm stretching this a lot but it could be that he meant Wonwoo, ne ways…

AI-less Whumptober
Day 6 Human shield (alternate)
TW/CW: Torture, paranoia, character death, poisoned, kind of whipping Words: 827 words
Gosh how she hated taverns. She wasn’t drinking anything, at least not something strong. Just water. And that she guarded with her life. Okay today might not be the best day in terms of her suspiciousness. Yeah sure suspiciousness that’s what this is, not paranoia, her sarcastic inner voice threw in. It’s not like it’s ungrounded, she shot back. Then she shook her head, enough self-talk. As she was about to take another sip she saw a young man lead another young man outside through the back door. Technically that was nothing bad but the young man did not look happy. Tierney’s eyes narrowed. She drank the rest of the water in one go and laid the required money on the counter. Upon turning around she casually followed the two men through the backdoor. Outside she saw clear dragging marks in the dusty ground and carefully followed them. It wouldn’t be the first time she fell into a trap. In certain circles her reputation proceeded her. After a few corners she had left the village and by trusting her instincts she came to a field. And really on that field she saw the two men. One towering over the other. There wasn’t much time to think of a plan, the torture had already started and she had to act. So Tierney ran to the guy, prepping an offensive spell in her mind and threw herself in-between the two as a thorny whip just came down on the both of them. Fortunately Tierney succeeded in taking the whole impact. Unfortunately, ouch. “Go!”, she hissed at the boy and he didn’t think twice and sprinted off. Not even a thank you…
“Who do you think you are, hm?”, the other boy, also barely a man asked enraged. He tried to grip the girl’s jaw but she pulled away and suddenly his hand felt like he touched a stove. “Argh!”
Tierney used the moment and launched a counterattack. The guy fell over and with a wave of her hand the soil wrapped itself around him until he was ingulfed in it. Lastly she pulled out a dagger, drenched it in liquid from one of her vials and delivered a thin cut over his neck. By far not deadly but opening the bloodstream. There, that should for a while. She fell to the ground next to the now trapped and poisoned guy who was still utterly shocked. Apparently one of the arrogant ones. Tierney carefully tried to touch the bloody wound reaching from her face down to her hip. It stung and her fingertips were covered in bright red blood. She laid down to avoid further and faster damage and started searching her bag for herbs. Simultaneously she initiated a healing spell.
“Are you just gonna lay here and ignore me, you peasant!?”, the guy yelled.
Tierney rolled her eyes, so she was right. “As a matter of fact we have the same status and yes, I will. Now shut up before I decide I have to gag you. It will be over soon.”
“W-What do you mean? Over?”, the guy asked and now his voice was shaking lightly.
“You’re a druid too, right?”
“Yes? Why?”
“And why do you torture people?”
He set up a cocky grin. “Because it’s fun.”
“Sure sadism plays a role. But my best guess is that you have a fragile ego so you make sure to crush other people for the trip of power gives you the confidence you so severely lack. Are you going to stop doing it?”
The other druid just started at her; mouth slightly agape before his face hardened. “No.”
Tierney sighed. She chewed on a few leaves and her wound had nearly stopped bleeding. “I was fearing you’d say that.”, she answered and with that she closed her eyes and tried to only focus on the healing magic.
“What are you doing to me?”, the boy asked, fear now imminent in his voice.
“You’re going to die and there’s nothing you can do or say to convince me otherwise. Just accept it.”, Tierney simply said. But the boy started screaming at her so she took out a couple of petals from her bag, shoved them in his mouth and held it closed. Soon after his mouth movement slowed down and she knew the dianthus/clove petals had done their job. After another ten minutes or so her wound had healed up and there was only dried blood. She got up, opened the soil again to take the guy’s belongings and then turned him fully underground. There he could now lay with nature and the world was a little safer. Even if it was heartless work. It felt right when she thought back to the other boy’s face. Of all their faces. Of how she felt. Trying to shake off the thoughts Tierney turned around and left the field. Walking into a forest, away from the city. Wherever the paths led her.
