Did a small sona redesign lol. Tried to highlight the theme of combining death and cuteness better. Most of the changes ended up being just clearer shape language and getting rid of the unnecessary polka dots on the shirt.
On one hand, the first version is pretty much nearly identical to how I& usually draw my& sona, so it feels more familiar and speaks to me& closer. On the other hand, making her pale as death conveys the theming much better and imo makes for a better character design.
What are the thoughts? Do I& keep her alive or make her undead lol
#oc art#oc#sona#character design#and no the pansexual soles are non-negotiable#I& think I& might still go for the first one when actually representing me& but I&'ll be keeping the other design in mind#other changes to the design not mentioned in the main post include:#- making the hairclip bone-shaped (already something I& drew on Luigra occasionally so it's just nice to officialize)#changing the shape of the collar the puffy sleeves and the soles#and that's pretty much it tbh#(I& do still want to keep her as the same character after all)#luigrart

Hi, maybe this is a question better suited for your coldflash/fandom blog, so feel free to answer it there. I saw your post about identifying as non-binary/genderqueer, and I was wondering if you had any trans headcanons in the CW DC shows, and if you'd ever considered exploring them in fics? (Totally fair if you don't or don't feel comfortable answering, I was just curious)
I don’t mind answering here, since it’s topical to a discussion on this blog, and I also don’t mind answering headcanon and DC CWTV here ever :)
I should open with saying that the majority of my headcanons about different characters’ orientation and identities change as needed. Normally they aren’t ‘fixed’ really. Some are, like Len being pansexual, but that is largely to respect how Wentworth Miller is acting him and views him, because before WM said that, my headcanons were multiple for his sexual orientation. One of the few exceptions is that I 100% headcanon both Cisco and Barry as bi. And of course, I don’t headcanon around canon queer identities, ever. But pretty much everything else changes depending on what fic or meta I’m writing or what I’m in the mood for?
And the same applies when it comes to gender identity headcanons. Typically, they’re not pervasive or ‘fixed’ in my mind. So I can’t give you any strong/persistent headcanons or an analysis of them or anything like that for trans headcanons, but I can give you some of my favorite ones for these characters?
Hmmm... Barry being bigender is one I like a lot, tbh, or nonbinary in some other way. Iris being nonbinary as well, most likely genderfluid, and getting frustrated because “liking fashion doesn’t mean I always identify as a woman”. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen any non-cis Iris headcanons floating around but I like it?
I’m also a big fan of trans-girl Linda Park?? And a huge fan of trans-girl Thea Queen omg. That’s probably my most persistent trans headcanon, I love trans!Thea. And trans-guy Mark Mardon tbh. That’s one of my absolute faves, thanks in part to an anon who sent me trans!Mark asks (here and here, though I don’t know if I filled that prompt very well, it was sort of out of my typical wheelhouse).
I’ve thought a bit about trans!Wally?? Which is all sorts of neat to me in part because the West family doesn’t know at first, though Francine of course does, and maybe Wally’s a little nervous to come out to them, in part because Joe can be a bit sexist at times?
On the writing side, I’m not sure I would write about this in the sense of the fic being about that, about being trans or nonbinary, partly because I’d want to do it justice and would be nervous to fuck it up, and partly because i don’t normally write stories that are solely/mostly about exploring one’s identity in a self-discovery process like that? (one could argue Melancholic Temperament had that as a central theme but I think of that fic more as a negotiation of identity and conflict between present vs. future and past vs. present and coming to grips with the cohesion of an identity over time. but I digress).
And tbh sometimes I write to escape my own gender frustrations, confusions, or struggles, not to immortalize them, or else I explore them via a more distanced metaphor instead. I almost feel like it’s something I’d “explore” more (i.e., make it a central theme for) in standalone fiction instead of in fanfiction, for some reason? I have plenty of trans and nonbinary OC’s, so maybe that’s part of why.
But I definitely can’t say I’d never write fic with that as the central theme either, because people evolve and in a year this might be the story I’m itching to write :) And I’d definitely write in trans characters where their gender identity isn’t a major plot point, it’s just part of who they are and is treated as such. And really, I should probably do more of that, or do it in a more overt way.

Muse post #3
All this is copied directly from my OC pages, apparently some users can’t get to these pages so I am making a post. In short: Tumblr be daft, so I’m doing this
Russell Crowler: The pacifist Vampire
Art once more done by the amazing @hyperchronic
Psychological Profile
Name: Russell Crowler
Alter Ego: N/A
Age: Physically between ages 23 and 24, chronologically 181 as he was born in 1836
Nationality:British National
Eye Colour: Pale Blue (also Red when senses are on high)
Personality Info
Russell Crowler is a vampire, a Cosmaine descendant whom was born from vampire parents and raised during Victorian England by his sister Alicia Crowler after their parents passed on. Russell has taken an active part in many of the great events in the last two centuries such as serving in World War I and II, putting an end to Jack the Ripper, serving as a doctor but having to leave his practise during the great depression and from 1959 onwards he has run a successful department store in the downtown London area called Crowler’s Emporium.
Russell is an exceptionally polite and courteous person, considered by almost all he interacts with a perfect gentleman. He gets on exceptionally well with all of his staff at the department store, knowing each of them by name and is considered a fair if not slightly eccentric boss. When Russell interacts with other vampires and they are not his allies he is often more stern, coarse and sometimes very aggressive in order to deter them from doing anything violent in his territory and against his staff.
That said Russell is not by nature a violent person, despite having served in both World Wars and has fed on many humans before going dry he is a massive pacifist. When push comes to shove Russell is more likely to try and talk his way out of the situation than opt to using his fists, and when negotiation doesn’t work he isn’t afraid to run. When Russell does engage in combat he becomes a completely different person, the nervous and fumbly gentleman is replaced by a vicious, unnatural, predatory hunter, leaving his opponents be they vampire, human or anything else with a good deal of trauma. In the aftermath of becoming ‘Scary Russell’ he is often if not always incredibly upset afterward.
Russell is considered a friend and ally by Psychic and Fox, he has met and worked with John Constantine and Batman but he confesses to be ill at ease among them (John Constantine for obvious reasons). Russell’s powers stem from the vampire’s ancient descendants Cosmaines so he has abilities similar to Psychic such as:
1. Energy manipulation- similar to Psycho-elementis except Russell can only manipulate electricity, he can absorb it and use it in a form similar too psycho-lightning and when he has absorbed enough he can use some of his more devastating powers such as summoning thunder
Spatial Manipulation- not as advanced as Psychic as he cannot fly but is able to manipulate the flow of gravity around himself and his enemies to disorientate them.
Higher Endurance- similar to Psychic accelerated healing Russell is able to take a lot of fatal attacks which would end a lesser being and take it without much punishment. Russell’s healing isn’t as fast as Psychic’s but his endurance compensates for that
Enhanced Senses, agility and strength- like all Vampires Russell has superhuman levels of speed, strength and senses. Russell is able to move at great speeds (nothing flash level) and whilst he lacks telepathy he can hear sounds beyond the range of even the sharpest human hearing, the same with his vision and smell.
Compared to Psychic and Fox Russell would appear to be the normal one of the team, certainly the token good teammate but he has been shaped by his long and bloody history.
Psychological Info
Russell’s perception on humanity was like most vampires divided into two categories: Food or mate. As he grew and developed he moved away from this shallow view and became a pansexual, however before he can allow himself to be physically attracted to anyone he needs a serious romantic connection. Russell however finds it hard to pursue romance owing to his traumatic experience with former lovers in the past. Trauma seems to be the defining part of Russell’s personality; guilt is ever present in his mind as he goes about his day to day life.
As a young man he was raised solely by his elder sister Alicia Crowler whom provided the maternal role whilst the paternal role vacant. Alicia adores Russell and he in turn has a loving and respectful relationship with her even though she doesn’t follow along with his blood sobriety, Alicia is still very much a literal man-eater. Russell has killed and devoured many human beings in his 170-year life span, including notorious serial killer Jack the Ripper. Originally he did so believing this was vital to his survival until he met Abraham Steele and learned about his Cosmaine heritage and during World War II he learned by forced starvation that he didn’t need blood to survive.
In the first three years of World War II Russell was held prisoner in a German War Camp for attempting to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Owing to his high endurance he was locked in solitary like an animal and was denied blood, forcing him through withdrawal but not death. On realizing that contrary to what he believed he didn’t need blood to live he suffered a barrage of guilt induced hallucinations, where every one of his victims appeared like spectres to torment him.
Because of this and actions from World War I Russell suffers from an alarming amount of PTSD and because of his time as a prisoner of war he developed a crippling case of claustrophobia. Because Russell has caused an unspeakable amount of violence, death and destruction through war, hunting and being territorial he’s immensely repentant, which plays heavily into his pacifistic personality. However, he still has the capacity to be violent and highly combative, his vampire powers combined with skills learned in the vampire secret service and military training make for a very potent and vicious fighter able to contend with superhuman threats and even magic users.
The dividing force between Russell and friends like Fox and Psychic is that he is a reluctant
superhero, he is unwilling to use his extraordinary abilities to fight the multitude of evil villains. Whilst Psychic and Fox understand this and try to ease him into the battle if needed other allies like John Constantine rebuke him for this weakness. Whilst Russell does have some close friends in the form of Vampire’s Anonymous he is afraid to let people get too close, especially romantically. Russell’s last serious romantic relationship was in the mid-60s and it ended in tragedy, her name was Bethany Sanders and on the night they were engaged they were attacked by a radical group of vampire-magi. Russell was able to repel them but not before sustaining serious injury, without hesitation Bethany offered her own blood to save him and he kept drinking…until she was dry. This would serve as a painful memory which would drive Russell to his serious sobriety and make him afraid to let anyone get that close ever again.
Unlike the majority of the vampires Russell believes in a peaceful coexistence with humanity, seeing non-violence as the only way to prove that vampires are better than humans as it means they don’t have to resort to such base methods for survival. His place in the vampire community is in dispute, he is hailed as a hero for his time in the vampire secret service but ridiculed and reviled for his sobriety. This serves to further weaken Russell’s stability as he feels he cannot be accepted by his own kind as well as the humans.
Whilst Russell doesn’t need to drink blood to survive the bloodlust is an ever present addiction and it doesn’t take much to excite those cravings and he has to use almost all of his self-control to resist. Despite going sober for ten years straight the temptation hasn’t weakened, in fact it’s a strong as it ever was which proves another constant trial for Russell, as well as every other vampire within the VA.
Conclusion
Russell is a sweet, charming and polite young man, young is subjective as he is still in his youth by Vampiric standards. He is pacifistic and shies away from violence but primarily because he feels an overwhelming rush of guilt for all the atrocities he has committed for war, the vampire secret service and when he thought he needed blood to survive. His sobriety and pacifist beliefs isolate him from his vampire peers, his guilt means he cannot get close to humans and his unwillingness to join the fight drives a wedge between him and the superhero element. Despite being a sweet and caring individual he lives with many deep wounds that he cannot heal from, his sole parental figure was his sister whom also doesn’t understand his beliefs but at least she doesn’t condemn them and his past tragedy with love he feels he cannot be that close to anyone else, often leaving him alone to face his insurmountable guilt. Russell is only able to stay true to his beliefs because of the support of Vampires Anonymous, showing he needs people close to him and he needs acceptance or else he will fall back into the addiction that is the blood lust.
Family/Relationships
Alicia Crowler (Older sister/guardian)
Bram Steele (Friend/emergency contact/VA member)
Shipping
Russell is multi-shippable and pansexual which means he is open to relationships with anyone romantically speaking but is reluctant to do so as his past experiences have left him traumatised, so it would be a slow build up. He is better suited to buddy relationships and sibling style ships but romantically speaking patience is key.
Role-Play Relationships
-Ms-serasvictoria Role play
Russell has a budding older sibling style relationship with Seras as they work together to investigate the focus of vampire society in the wake of the fall of the millenium
