Pairings: Carlos Sainz x pregnant!reader
Summary: In which he was too late
Warnings: angst, miscarriage
The morning light filtered softly through the curtains of your apartment, a golden warmth that felt at odds with the cold knot of anxiety twisting in your stomach. You sat at the kitchen table, staring at the small white plastic stick in your hand as if it would suddenly change its mind. The words on it were undeniable, though—bold and clear. You were pregnant.
For a moment, everything felt still, like time had decided to hold its breath along with you. Your heart hammered in your chest, loud enough to echo in your ears, yet the rest of the world seemed so quiet. It felt as if you were trapped between two realities—one where you were the same person you had been just a few days ago and another where this tiny, growing life inside you would change everything.
You knew exactly what this meant. Your mind raced through the tangled maze of questions. What would Carlos think? What would he do? The two of you had never discussed children—not seriously, anyway. Sure, you’d talked about the future in vague terms, but when it came to family, he had always been clear. He wasn't ready, he wasn't sure he wanted them. He was focused on his career, his racing. His life was full of ambition and passion for a world that didn’t leave room for a baby, let alone a family.
But here you were, pregnant.
Your breath hitched as you glanced at the clock. Carlos would be home soon. You had no idea how you were going to tell him. How do you share news like this? The kind of news that could make or break everything you thought you knew about each other? You had hoped the moment would never come, or maybe that you'd be able to convince yourself it was a mistake, that maybe those two lines weren’t as clear as they seemed. But deep down, you knew they were real.
You tried to imagine his reaction. Would he be angry? Would he be scared? Would he think this was something you had planned all along, to trap him into something he didn’t want? The thought sent a chill through you. Carlos wasn't like that. He wasn't someone to dismiss your feelings, but you knew he wouldn’t take kindly to something that disrupted his carefully mapped out future.
His career, his freedom—it was all he had worked for, and now it felt like it was all on the line.
You stared at your reflection in the window, watching your own face morph into one of uncertainty. You didn’t know how to navigate this conversation, how to make him understand. You weren’t ready for this either, but this was reality now. And the hardest part was telling him.
When the door clicked open, Carlos stepped into the apartment, his familiar scent filling the room. You looked up, your stomach tightening as his eyes met yours.
"Hey," he said, setting his helmet and racing gear down in the hallway before walking over to you. His smile was soft, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes, not like it usually did. There was something on your face that made him pause. Something was wrong.
You opened your mouth, but no words came out.
"What's going on?" he asked, his voice laced with concern, but you could hear the edge of hesitation in it. He knew you too well.
You swallowed hard, the lump in your throat growing with each passing second. "Carlos," you began, your voice unsteady, "there’s something I need to tell you."
His eyes softened as he sat across from you, his hand gently brushing yours. "You’re scaring me, what’s wrong?"
You looked at the pregnancy test again, then back at him, feeling your hands tremble.
"I’m pregnant."
His face fell silent for a long moment. The words hung in the air, their weight crushing you. You watched his eyes search your face as if trying to decipher if you were joking, but you couldn’t find any humor in this moment, no lightness. This wasn’t a joke.
His expression shifted, his lips tightening. His hands hovered over the table, unsure whether to reach out or pull away.
"You’re sure?" His voice was low, almost like he didn’t want to hear the answer.
You nodded, suddenly feeling smaller, as if the space between you two had doubled in size.
"I’m sure," you whispered, the weight of the admission pushing down on your chest. "Carlos, I—"
"Wait," he interrupted, his eyes now narrowing slightly, "are you telling me that you… that we…?" He trailed off, visibly processing what you had said. "But we never—"
"I know," you said quickly, your heart pounding in your ears. "I didn’t expect this either, but it’s real."
A heavy silence fell between you, and Carlos sat back in his chair, running a hand through his hair. You could see the wheels turning in his mind, the tension in his posture growing with every passing second.
"How are we supposed to—" He broke off, his voice suddenly sharp. "You know I’m not ready for this. You know that."
You flinched at the words, though they weren’t said cruelly. He was upset, overwhelmed even. But they cut deep.
"Do you think I’m ready for this?" you asked softly, your voice shaking. "Carlos, I didn’t plan this. But this is happening. And I need you to—"
"I can’t," he cut you off, his tone now more forceful. "I can’t just drop everything for this. I have my career, my goals. I can’t throw all of that away now."
Your heart shattered, the weight of his words crashing down on you. You blinked rapidly, trying to keep the tears at bay. The fear, the hurt—it all bubbled up in an overwhelming rush. "Carlos, this isn’t about you throwing everything away. It’s about us figuring this out together. I’m not asking you to throw everything away. I’m asking for your support."
But he shook his head, his jaw tight. "I don’t know if I can give that to you."
The room seemed to close in on you. Your breath was shallow, each word he spoke pressing harder against your chest. "So, what? You’re just going to walk away? You’re going to ignore everything we’ve built because of one mistake?"
"It’s not a mistake," he snapped. "But it is something I wasn’t prepared for. And I don’t think I can be."
The pain in your chest turned into something darker, deeper. The reality of the situation was settling in, and it was suffocating you. You stood up abruptly, pushing your chair back. "I never wanted this to be a fight," you whispered. "I just wanted you to understand."
Carlos stood too, his face a mix of frustration and regret. "I need time to think, okay?" His words were softer now, almost a plea for space. But it wasn’t the space you wanted.
"Time?" you repeated, your voice barely above a whisper. "How much time do you need to decide if we’re going to have a child? How much time do you need to decide if we’re going to have a future?"
Without another word, Carlos turned and walked away, leaving you in the suffocating silence of the apartment. The stillness that followed was deafening, and all you could do was sit there, your hand still clutching the test, the reality of it all crashing down around you.
Carlos’ hands gripped the steering wheel tighter than he realized as he drove away from the apartment. The tires of the car hummed on the asphalt, the road stretching endlessly before him, but his thoughts were a jumbled mess. His breath was ragged, his chest tight with confusion. The words you’d said, the look in your eyes, the way you held the pregnancy test as if it were both a lifeline and a curse—everything had blurred together into a painful knot in his stomach.
He had asked for time, needed it—desperately. Time to breathe, time to think. But the truth was, Carlos didn’t know what to think. His mind kept spiraling, trying to reason his way through something that felt so far beyond logic.
He loved you, that much was certain. But that love had never once been tied to thoughts of starting a family, to the idea of being a father. He wasn’t ready for that. He had spent his life working towards something that didn’t leave room for the responsibilities of parenthood.
But then, he saw the look on your face. He could still feel the hurt in your voice, the way you tried to explain that this wasn’t something you wanted either, but it was real. And now, he had to figure out how to navigate this.
The sun was beginning to set by the time Carlos parked his car in front of his father's house. The familiar warmth of the home did little to ease the tension that had built up inside him. He didn’t want to admit it, but he felt lost. He needed someone who could help him make sense of all this.
Carlos had always been close to his father, Carlos Sainz Sr. A man who had seen both triumphs and defeats in the world of motorsport. He knew what it was like to struggle, to fight for something you believed in, but he also knew what it meant to be a man of integrity, to face your responsibilities head-on. It was that kind of wisdom Carlos needed now.
He didn’t knock. His father’s house was always open to him, no matter what time of day it was. Carlos let himself in, finding his father in the kitchen, preparing a cup of coffee.
"Hey, Papa," Carlos said, his voice a bit hoarse as he leaned against the doorway.
Carlos Sainz Sr. looked up from his cup, his expression unreadable at first. But then, he saw the look in his son’s eyes. The kind of look that spoke volumes about a thousand unsaid things.
"Hijo, what’s wrong?" his father asked, setting the coffee down and gesturing for Carlos to sit.
Carlos hesitated for a moment before making his way to the table. He slumped into the chair across from his father, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
"I don’t know what to do, Papa," he admitted, his voice heavy with uncertainty. "I… I just found out that I’m going to be a father."
Carlos Sr. didn’t react immediately, but his eyes softened, and he took a deep breath, as though weighing his words carefully. "A father," he repeated, the weight of the word hanging in the air. "And you don’t know what to do?"
Carlos shook his head. "I never wanted this. I mean… I never planned for it. You know how I’ve always felt about kids, about having a family. I was never ready for that. I don’t know how to be a father, how to be the kind of man who can balance everything. I don’t want to let go of everything I’ve worked for. My career, my life—it all feels so out of control now."
His father sat back, folding his arms across his chest as he observed his son. The lines on Carlos Sr.’s face seemed deeper than usual, as if he had seen this moment coming from a distance.
"I understand. I understand more than you know," Carlos Sr. said quietly. "But sometimes, life has a way of throwing us challenges when we least expect it. You think you’ve got everything planned, and then something happens that changes everything. And that’s not always a bad thing. You’re scared because you feel like you’re losing control, but maybe what you’re really scared of is letting go of the idea that you can do it all on your own."
Carlos ran a hand through his hair again, frustration mixing with confusion. "I’m not ready to be a father, Papa. I’m just… not."
Carlos Sr. sighed deeply, his gaze steady and filled with a depth of understanding that only comes from years of experience. He leaned forward slightly, his voice soft but firm.
"I wasn’t ready either, Carlos," he said, and his words hit harder than Carlos expected. "When your mother told me she was pregnant with your older sister, I didn’t know how to feel. I was scared. I wasn’t sure if I could do it. I didn’t know if I could balance my career with being a father. But one thing I did know was that it wasn’t just about me anymore. It was about us—your mother and I, and the life we were going to build. And there was nothing more important than that."
Carlos Sr. paused for a moment, letting the weight of his words sink in before continuing.
"You see, when you’re faced with something like this, you have two choices. You can run away from it, avoid it, pretend it’s not happening. Or you can face it. You can stand up and accept it for what it is, and figure out how to make it work. Because when you become a father, it’s not about you anymore. It’s about the life you’re bringing into this world, and the kind of person you want to be for them."
Carlos felt a lump form in his throat as he absorbed his father’s words. His chest tightened, the reality of what his father was saying hitting him like a wave. He had always been focused on his career, on his goals, on the life he had chosen. But now, it felt like that life was being torn apart by something so much bigger than himself.
"I don’t know if I can do this, Papa," Carlos admitted, his voice faltering.
Carlos Sr. stood up, walking over to the window and looking out at the garden. When he spoke again, his voice was softer, tinged with the wisdom of years of experience.
"You’re not alone, Carlos. You don’t have to figure this out on your own. You have people who love you, who want to support you. You have her—" He gestured toward the door, toward the life Carlos had just walked away from. "She’s in this with you. And you need to talk to her. You need to listen, because she’s not asking you to fix everything. She’s asking you to be there."
Carlos closed his eyes, the weight of his father’s words settling over him like a heavy blanket. He had been so caught up in his own fears, his own insecurities, that he hadn’t even considered what you must have been feeling. He hadn’t thought about the fact that you were in this together, that this wasn’t just his problem to solve. It was yours—yours to face, to share, to overcome.
"She’s scared, Carlos," his father continued. "She’s scared, and she needs you. Not the man who thinks he has all the answers, but the man who’s willing to show up, even when he doesn’t. She needs you to be there, to support her through this. That’s what it means to be a man. To stand by the people you love, even when it’s hard. Even when you don’t know how."
Carlos Sr. turned around to face him, his eyes meeting his son’s with a quiet intensity.
"You have a choice, Carlos. You can choose to run, to stay in the safety of the life you’ve built for yourself. Or you can choose to be a father, to take responsibility for the life you’re creating. The choice is yours. But don’t wait too long to make it. Because sometimes, the biggest mistake we can make is not realizing what we have until it’s too late."
Carlos sat in silence, the weight of his father’s words sinking deep into his soul. For the first time since he had walked out of your apartment, he felt a shift inside him—a slow, dawning realization that he could no longer keep running from this.
He had to go back. He had to face you.
Carlos’ heart raced as he drove back toward the apartment. His father’s words had cut deeper than he expected, like a scalpel carving into something raw, something fragile. The weight of his choices pressed heavily on his chest. The fear, the uncertainty—it was all still there, but his father’s wisdom had ignited something inside him, a spark of understanding he had been too afraid to acknowledge before.
He had left. Walked away when you needed him the most. And now he had to fix it. He had to go back and be the man he promised he would be—someone you could depend on, someone who would fight for you. But more than that, someone who would fight for the life growing inside of you.
Carlos gripped the steering wheel tighter, his knuckles white with the effort. He couldn’t shake the images of your face—the hurt in your eyes, the way you had begged him to understand. And he hadn’t. He had run.
When he pulled into the parking lot of your building, everything seemed so still. The world outside was unaware of the storm that had been brewing between the two of you, but it felt like the universe itself was holding its breath. He parked the car with a sense of finality, as if this moment would mark the beginning of something new—or the end of everything.
He got out of the car, walking toward the entrance with slow, deliberate steps. His mind raced with a thousand things to say, but none of them seemed to be enough. What could he possibly say to fix this? How could he explain the confusion, the fear, the selfishness that had led him to walk away from you when you needed him most?
The door to the apartment creaked open with a quiet sound that felt impossibly loud in the silence of the hallway. Carlos stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room, searching for you. But the apartment was eerily quiet. He called your name softly at first, unsure if you were even home, but the emptiness in the air told him something was wrong.
"Y/N?" His voice trembled slightly as he stepped further into the apartment. "Are you here?"
There was no answer.
He walked through the living room and into the bedroom, the door slightly ajar. As he pushed it open, the sight that met him took the breath from his lungs.
You were lying on the bed, unmoving. The room was dim, the curtains pulled tightly shut to block out the light. But what caught his attention wasn’t the stillness—it was the absence of the warmth that had once filled this space. The energy that had defined your relationship was gone, replaced with a cold, suffocating silence. You weren’t sleeping. You weren’t pretending everything was okay.
Your face was pale, your eyes closed, but your expression... it wasn’t peaceful. It was hollow, distant, as if you had already begun to retreat into a place where Carlos could no longer reach you.
His breath caught in his throat as he approached the bed, his heart hammering in his chest.
"Y/N?" he said again, his voice breaking this time. "Please, look at me."
You didn’t stir. His heart twisted in his chest, a feeling of dread settling deep in his bones. There was something in the air—a heaviness that he couldn’t shake. Slowly, cautiously, Carlos sat on the edge of the bed, reaching out to touch your hand. It was cold, lifeless, a stark contrast to the warmth he had once known so well.
"Y/N, what’s going on?" he whispered, his voice full of pain and regret. He could feel the tears threatening to spill, but he held them back, not knowing if he even deserved the release.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, you opened your eyes, though they seemed distant—no longer the eyes that had once been full of life and love. You looked at him, but it was as if you were seeing someone else entirely. Someone he didn’t recognize.
"Y/N, please," Carlos whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I’m so sorry. I was scared. I didn’t know what to do. But I’m here now. I’m here. I’ll do whatever it takes."
You blinked, your lips parting to speak, but the words never came. Instead, there was only the faintest trace of something in your eyes. Something he couldn’t quite place. Was it anger? Was it sorrow? Or something deeper—something he had failed to see in his own selfishness?
"Y/N," Carlos said again, his voice cracking this time. "Please... talk to me."
But still, you didn’t respond.
It was then that Carlos noticed something else. There, on the bed, beside you, was the faint trace of something—a small stain, barely noticeable, but undeniable. A knot formed in his stomach, and his hands began to tremble as realization began to sink in. His breath hitched, and his throat felt tight as he turned back to you, finally understanding.
"No," he breathed, his voice shaking. "No, please."
Your eyes fluttered slightly, and for a moment, Carlos thought you were going to speak. But then your gaze drifted downward, to the small band of blood that had soaked through the sheets. It was then that he realized—the child, the life that had been growing inside you, was no longer there.
"You lost it," Carlos whispered, the words coming out barely louder than a breath. His heart shattered at the realization, and a wave of guilt washed over him so strong he could hardly breathe. He had walked away. He had been so focused on his own fears, his own uncertainties, that he hadn’t seen the weight of what was happening to you.
He reached for your hand again, but this time, you pulled away. You looked at him then, and it wasn’t anger or sorrow in your eyes—it was something far worse.
"You don’t get to come back now," you said, your voice quiet, but firm. "You left when I needed you the most, Carlos. You can’t just come back and pretend everything will be okay."
Carlos felt as though the air had been knocked from his lungs. He had no words to respond to that. How could he? How could he explain that the fear of fatherhood had been so overwhelming that he had allowed it to dictate his actions, even if it meant losing you—losing everything?
"You’re right," he said finally, his voice thick with emotion. "I don’t get to just come back. But I’m here now, and I’m not going anywhere. I don’t care what it takes. I’ll be here for you—for us. I should’ve been here before, and I’m so sorry that I wasn’t."
But your eyes were still distant, and Carlos knew that the damage had been done. The distance between you had grown too wide, too deep to bridge in a single moment.
"I can’t do this anymore," you whispered. "I can’t keep waiting for you to figure out what you want. I can’t keep fighting for something that you’re not ready for. I thought I could do it on my own, but now... now I don’t even know who I am anymore."
Carlos felt his heart break in ways he didn’t even know were possible. The weight of what he had lost hit him with the force of a wrecking ball. You weren’t just angry with him. You were hurt. You had been betrayed, and the loss of the child—their future—was something he could never undo.
"I’ll stay with you," Carlos said quietly, his voice breaking. "I don’t care if we’re too late. We’ll figure it out. I’m here now. But please, don’t shut me out. Please."
You closed your eyes, tears sliding down your face. "It’s too late, Carlos."
And just like that, the silence between you two became unbearable, suffocating. It wasn’t just the loss of the child. It was the loss of everything that had once been. The future you had dreamed of together. The family. The love. All of it seemed to have vanished, leaving only a hollow ache where something beautiful had once been.
Carlos didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know how to fix this, how to make it right. All he knew was that he had failed. He had failed you, and in doing so, he had failed himself.
Carlos sat at the edge of the bed, staring at the empty space beside him. His body felt numb, as though every part of him had been drained of energy, of life, of everything he thought he knew about the world. He had come back, had finally understood what he needed to do, but it had been too late.
He could still hear your words echoing in his mind, the quiet but firm dismissal that had shattered the fragile hope he had clung to. "I can’t keep waiting for you to figure out what you want," you had said, your voice filled with something far more painful than anger. It had been sorrow, the kind of sorrow that ran deeper than any argument, deeper than any misunderstanding. It had been the kind of sorrow that came from realizing that love, no matter how much you wanted it to, couldn’t heal everything.
The child was gone. You had lost it. The pregnancy was no longer a promise, no longer the future you had thought you were building together. And now, there was only silence.
Carlos closed his eyes, trying to push away the overwhelming weight that pressed on his chest. He had failed you, failed the life that had barely begun, and failed himself. He had walked away when he should have been there, when he should have listened instead of running. He had been afraid, too afraid to face the responsibility that was already his—one that could have been a gift if he had only chosen to embrace it. But now, it was too late.
The apartment felt suffocating. The walls seemed to close in around him as he stood up from the bed, pacing aimlessly across the room. His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, each one more agonizing than the last. He couldn’t undo the past, couldn’t take back the moments he had spent trying to avoid the reality of what had been unfolding right in front of him. The child, the future, the love—it was all gone.
Carlos ran a hand through his hair, trying to calm the storm inside him. He had been so focused on himself, on his own fears, on his own insecurities, that he hadn’t seen what was right in front of him. He hadn’t realized that the most important thing in his life wasn’t his career or his accomplishments. It was you. And he had lost you.
The thought hit him like a physical blow, a punch to the gut that left him breathless. He had lost you, and in doing so, he had lost everything that had ever truly mattered.
A soft knock on the door broke through the haze of his thoughts, and for a moment, Carlos didn’t know if he should answer. He didn’t know if he was ready to face anyone, especially after everything that had happened. But then, he heard his father’s voice on the other side of the door.
"Carlos? It’s me."
Carlos felt his stomach tighten at the sound of his father’s voice. He hadn’t even noticed that his father had followed him back to the apartment. It was a small mercy, one that Carlos hadn’t even realized he needed, but now, standing at the door, he knew it was the only thing that could help him navigate the overwhelming pain and regret.
"Come in," Carlos said, his voice rough.
The door creaked open, and Carlos’ father stepped inside. His presence was calming, steady, like a rock amidst a storm. Carlos didn’t look up at first, too consumed by his own guilt, but he felt the weight of his father’s gaze upon him, steady and unwavering.
Carlos Sr. said nothing at first, just walked over to the small couch in the corner and sat down. He folded his hands in his lap and waited. It was a silence that spoke volumes, one that gave Carlos the space he needed to gather his thoughts, even as they remained tangled and chaotic.
Finally, Carlos spoke, his voice barely more than a whisper. "I failed her, Papa."
Carlos Sr. didn’t respond immediately, but the quiet understanding in his eyes told Carlos that his father already knew the depth of his pain. After a long pause, Carlos Sr. finally spoke.
"Hijo, you didn’t fail her," he said quietly. "You failed yourself. And in doing so, you failed to see what was right in front of you."
Carlos swallowed hard, the lump in his throat growing bigger with each word his father spoke. He had failed himself, that much was true. His own fear, his own inability to face the future had clouded his judgment, clouded everything. And now, all he had left was this empty apartment, the silence between them, and the memory of a life that was never meant to be.
"I didn’t want this," Carlos said, his voice raw with emotion. "I wasn’t ready. I thought I could keep going, keep doing what I was doing. I thought if I just kept pushing everything away, it would go away. But it didn’t. And now… now she’s gone."
Carlos Sr. leaned forward, his gaze steady, but his voice gentle. "She’s not gone, Carlos. She’s hurt. She’s disappointed, yes. But she’s not gone. Not unless you let her be."
Carlos let out a bitter laugh, the sound bitter and hollow. "I let her down, Papa. I walked away when she needed me most. I couldn’t handle it. I couldn’t—"
"Stop," Carlos Sr. interrupted, his voice firm but not unkind. "You’re wrong. You couldn’t handle it because you didn’t let yourself. You were so caught up in your own fear that you couldn’t see what was really happening. And now, you have to fix that. You have to go to her, Carlos. You have to show her that you can be the man she needs you to be."
Carlos’s heart pounded in his chest. His father’s words were like a call to action, but he didn’t know if he could follow through. Could he really fix this? Could he undo the damage he had done? Was it even possible?
"I don’t know if she’ll forgive me," Carlos said, his voice thick with emotion. "I don’t know if I deserve it."
"You don’t deserve forgiveness, Carlos," his father said quietly. "But you can earn it. And you start by showing up. You start by being there, by taking responsibility for what you did. It’s not about what you deserve—it’s about what you’re willing to do to make things right."
Carlos’s father stood up and placed a hand on his shoulder, the weight of it grounding him in that moment.
"You’re going to make mistakes, son," Carlos Sr. continued. "You’re going to mess up. But the measure of a man is not in his ability to avoid mistakes—it’s in how he handles them when they happen. It’s about owning up to them, learning from them, and doing everything in his power to make things better. That’s how you move forward. That’s how you become the man you’re meant to be."
Carlos felt tears well up in his eyes, a mix of relief and sorrow that he hadn’t expected. His father’s words, simple yet profound, broke through the fog of his confusion, and for the first time in what felt like forever, Carlos felt the smallest glimmer of hope.
"Go to her," Carlos Sr. said quietly, giving his son a final, meaningful look. "You’re not alone in this. But you can’t fix it by running away."
Carlos nodded, his throat tight. He wasn’t sure if he was ready. He wasn’t sure if you would even want to see him after everything that had happened. But he knew one thing for certain: he couldn’t stay here, wallowing in his own regret. He had to go to you. He had to show you that he could be the man you needed, that he could be the father he had never thought he could be.
He stood up, his legs shaky beneath him, and walked toward the door. His father’s voice echoed in his mind, steady and unwavering. He wasn’t alone in this. He had to believe that.
As he stepped outside, the cool air hit him like a slap to the face, but it didn’t matter. He was moving forward now. He wasn’t going to let fear control him anymore.
He was going to fight for you.
And this time, he wasn’t going to run.

It was an unspoken rule that opening nights were sacred in your family. The excitement, nerves, and anticipation of the curtain rising for the first time in Melbourne—it was all part of the magic you had fallen in love with since your broadway debut at sixteen. Tonight was no different, the backstage bustle surrounded you, but you remained calm, dressed in your costume for Fantine, the tragic heroine of Les Misérables.
The makeup team finished their final touches, ensuring every detail conveyed the pain and hope of the character. You took a deep breath, whispering a quiet prayer as the stage manager gave the fifteen-minute warning.
In the plush velvet seats of the packed theater, your family had taken their places. Carlos was flanked by your parents on one side and, to your surprise, his best friend, Lando Norris, by his side. You had heard of Lando countless times through Carlos’ stories, seen him in the occasional instagram post or race weekend interview, but never met him in person. Lando was not exactly the type you imagined sitting through a three-hour musical, but there he was, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit, looking slightly out of place but undeniably intrigued.
“I still don’t understand why you brought me with you.” Lando murmured to Carlos as they flipped through the program.
“Because you need culture in your life,” Carlos teased, his voice low to avoid drawing attention. “Besides, it’s my sister. I’m always there to support her.”
Lando just nodded, unsure what to really expect. He had heard of you, of course, Carlos never stopped talking about his little sister’s accomplishments, but he had never seen you perform. Lando wasn’t even sure how someone who belted out ballads for a living would compare to the thrill of racing, but as the curtains rose and you stepped onto the stage, he felt something shift.
When you sang I Dreamed a Dream, the theatre fell silent, and Lando forgot to breathe. He didn’t know much about broadways and musicals, but even he could tell this was something special. There was a rawness in your voice, an honesty that made him feel like you were baring your soul to every person in the audience, him included.
“You good?” Carlos asked, his tone laced with curiosity.
Lando blinked and sat up straighter. “She's…really good.”
“Told you,” Carlos smirked, “she’s a broadway darling for a reason.”
Lando did not respond, his eyes fixed on you as you poured your heart into the performance, and by the time the curtain fell and the audience erupted into applause, he was on his feet, clapping so hard his palms stung. Carlos laughed as he nudged him.
“I think you liked it more than me, mate.” Carlos chuckled.
“She’s, uh, really talented.” Lando flushed, rubbing the back of his neck. Carlos raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
Backstage, you were surrounded by castmates and well-wishers when Carlos arrived, with a bouquet of flowers in hand.
“You killed it out there!” He said, pulling you into a bear hug. “Mamá and Papá are so proud, they couldn’t even stop crying.”
“Thank you,” you smiled, wiping a bit of makeup from your cheek. “It felt good tonight.” You admitted, though your eyes flicked curiously to the familiar figure a few steps behind Carlos.
Carlos caught your glance and stepped aside. “Oh, right, this is Lando. You know him, my best friend.”
“Hello.” You said warmly, extending a hand.
Lando stared at you for a second too long before quickly shaking your hand. “Hey, uh, you were amazing. Like, really amazing.”
“Thank you,” you said, smiling at his slightly awkward demeanor. “I’m glad that you enjoyed it. I never pegged you for a theatre type.”
Carlos snorted. “Oh, he’s not. He didn’t even know who Fantine was before tonight.”
“Hey, I know now.” Lando muttered as he shot Carlos a look, which made you laugh.
“Well, it’s nice to finally meet you, Lando,” you said. “Thank you for coming.”
As you turned your attention back to Carlos to discuss dinner plans, Lando just stood there, hands shoved into his trouser pockets, feeling like he had just been hit by a train.

f1gossip is there something more than just racing between lando norris and the sainz family?
spotted: lando norris attending the opening night of les miserables in melbourne with none other than carlos sainz and his family just days before the aussie grand prix weekend.
the mclaren driver, who’s usually more focused on the track than the theatre, seemed to be all flirty and smiles as he mingled with carlos little sister, ynsainz—the broadway darling herself! rumors have been swirling around ever since lando was seen front and center at the opening night, and now, it’s got us wondering…is there something between the two off-track?
while lando’s always kept his private life under the wraps, this cozy night with the sainz fam is raising some eyebrows. could les miserables be just the beginning? are we seeing a new f1 power couple in the making?
drop your thoughts below! ❤️

username7 okay, but if lando is really into her, can we talk about what an upgrade this is from his usual dating rumors? she’s a literal goddess. broadway, west end, and disney??? ma’am.
username8 so lando’s in attendance at les miz in melbourne? okay, that’s cool, but is it bad that i care more about her perfomance than this so-called gossip? priorities, people!
username9 not at all!! everyone here in the comsec acting like they personally know lando or y/n lmao what a bunch of losers
username10 this is a bit of stretch, don’t you guys think? maybe he’s genuinely wanted to be there for support. he’s literally best friends with carlos and close with the sainz, is it now bad to support a best friend’s family member? not every guy and girl showing support or hanging out equates to dating.
username9 SPEAK YOUR TRUTH!!!
username1 finally, someone saying relevant here for once!!!
username11 can we please stop making everything a love story? maybe she’s just being nice and lando’s just being lando
username12 oh you are so sick for tagging the people involved in your nonsense gossip!!! leave them alone!!!!
username13 now why us, broadway fans, suddenly being dragged into an f1 drama? can we just stay away from this and focus on supporting her and appreciating her talent? we don’t need this kind of drama
username14 lol lando is just tagging along with carlos like they usually do! NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE A SHIP NOR A DATING RUMOR!
username15 she’s just probably using him for clout lmfao
username16 i don’t ship it, but if carlos approves, i guess it’s fine
username2 ????? weirdo
username17 she’s been killing it on broadway since she was young. why do people always have to reduce talented women to ‘who they’re dating/involved’ with? do better people, you all are really embarrassing
username18 honestly, i don’t really care who she’s dating. just give me tickets to see her next performance 😭
username3 oh you’re so really for this
username4 why do broadway tickets have to be so expensive 😭😭😭
username5 bank heist plan meeting at my house at 8pm, pull up
username6 time to sell feet pics 😔💔
username19 she’s just gonna use lando for fame just like *coughs* magui *coughs* and besides, she wouldn’t be famous if it weren’t for carlos LMAO what a nepo baby
username7 DON’T YOU EVER COMPARED THAT VILE AND WRETCHED WOMAN TO Y/N! THE BLANTANT DISRESPECT. SHES BEEN SELLING OUT THEATRE BEFORE YOU COULD SPELL BROADWAY. CARLOS MAY BE HER BROTHER BUT HER TALENT GOT WHERE SHE IS RIGHT NOW. SIT THE FUCK DOWN. I HOPE YOU CHOKE ON THAT COUGH OF YOURS.
username8 username7 SLAYED, ATE, DEVOURED, LEFT NO CRUMBS
username20 yeah, i don’t really trust her. she’s probs only interested in lando bc of the clout that comes with being an f1 wag
username9 you DISGUST me. clout? clout??? mary, she’s the one with standing ovations every night. meanwhile, you’re hating from your couch. maybe try again.
username21 LANDO IN SPECS 😭😭😭 HES SO DREAMY 🥺🥺🥺
username10 people out here are tearing each other apart and so close in inciting civil war, while you’re out here commenting lando looks good in specs is so REAL 😭😭😭
username11 the vibe i bring to the function:
username22 the whole comsec got me laughing my ass off 😭 y’all are really bursting your nerves over this gossip that is completely baseless 😭😭😭 it’s NORMAL for him to hang out with carlos’ family and show support to carlos’ family member. like what the other commenter said, not everything has to be a dating rumor 😭😭😭
username12 EXACTLY.
username22 these people need to unclench their asshole. like omfg relax, brenda!
username23 if this is true, i don’t like it. lando needs someone who understands his world, not some theatre diva who’s only there for the spotlight
username13 ???? theatre diva ???? she’s literally been called the voice of this generation, a generational talent. she DOESNT need lando or his world, she has her own. stay bitter, though
username24 why are people so mean? she’s insanely talented and gorgeous.
username14 some people are just really fucking opinionated, like they know lando personally and that their opinions would matter. well news flash, lando wouldn’t even bat an eyelash at you nor date you all. fucking weirdos
username25 welp, this isn’t the comment section that i was expecting at all 🧍🏻‍♀️
username26 is this a civil war between f1 stans and broadway stans? 😭😭😭😭
username27 vroom vroom kids vs. theatre kids
username28 this post alone had incited a civil war between f1 stans and broadway stans 😭

Chapter 1 (Love is in Mallorca series)
Pairing: Carlos Sainz x Fem!reader
Warnings: none I guess
Summary: Y/n goes to Mallorca intending to leave her life behind, at least for a while. Then she meets a mysterious guy who makes this trip, to say the least, unforgettable.
Tumblr media
Mallorca was stunning, but a certain discomfort grew within me as the days passed. I found myself lost on an island whose beauty was undeniable, but whose language formed an insurmountable barrier.
Since I had arrived, it seemed that the fact that I only spoke English made me invisible. People looked at me in a hurry, or simply ignored my attempts at communication. Sometimes, I wondered if it was just my imagination or if it was really happening.
Tonight, after a long day of walking along the beaches, I decided I deserved a drink. The bar was crowded, full of laughter and conversations in Spanish. The smell of fresh seafood filled the air, and I approached the counter, trying not to seem out of place. I waited patiently for a while, watching as the bartenders moved from one customer to the next, ignoring me with an efficiency that almost seemed rehearsed.
I took a deep breath and approached the counter again.
“A gin and tonic, please?” I asked in English, my voice swallowed by the atmosphere.
The bartenders barely paid attention to me, glanced at me, and simply decided to ignore me.
I waited, hoping that somehow my order would be heard. I looked around, trying to decide whether it would be better to just give up, but before I could step away, I heard a deep, firm voice next to me, speaking in Spanish. I didn’t understand the words, but the tone was clear and authoritative, like someone used to being heard.
The bartender stopped what he was doing and quickly handed over what I had asked for. I turned, surprised, to face the owner of that voice.
He was tall, dark-haired, with slightly tousled hair, but in a purposefully relaxed way. His smile was easygoing, as if saving frustrated tourists was something he did every day.
“Here you go,” he said, with a soft accent, handing me the drink.
“Thank you,” I replied, accepting the glass. “I was beginning to think I was invisible.”
He laughed, a light and sincere sound, as if he understood exactly how I felt.
“It’s not that, but sometimes people here... can be a bit stubborn with those who don’t speak the language.”
I nodded, taking a sip of the drink that was finally in my hands. The refreshing taste of gin with lemon slid down my throat, bringing an immediate sense of relief.
“So, are you from here?” I asked, curious. “Your Spanish is perfect.”
“Thanks, and kind of. I live in Madrid, but my family has a house here in Mallorca. I always come here during summer holidays. And you, what brought you to the island?”
I looked at him, hesitating. He seemed so casual, so at ease, it was hard not to feel at ease as well.
“I actually just needed a break from my life. Something different.”
“You chose well. Mallorca is a perfect place to disconnect.”
He was right. The island was beautiful, and there was much more to explore than I could do on my own, especially with my limited Spanish. Maybe that’s what led me to accept when he suggested he’d show me a few places that, according to him, "no tourist guide would include."
“Shall we take a walk?” he asked, his eyes gleaming with a kind of enthusiasm that was impossible to ignore.
I agreed. After all, I had nothing to lose, and somehow, I felt like I could trust him. But I could also be completely wrong, and he could be a serial killer who would murder me and toss me into the sea.
But I was willing to take the risk.
We left the bar, walking through narrow streets lit by small lights hanging between old buildings. The night was warm and full of life. People laughed at outdoor restaurant tables, and the distant sound of flamenco music filled the air.
“You know, you're the first person who hasn’t tried to correct me or judge me for not speaking Spanish. I know it's annoying when tourists show up and don't even try to speak the language, but I didn't think I’d be completely ignored,” I commented as we walked.
“Sometimes it’s good to just listen and not judge, right?” He smiled, glancing around at the streets around us. “Speaking the language is important, but so is feeling welcomed, even without understanding everything.”
There was something different about walking with him, something that made the city seem more accessible, more inviting. He showed me a small square where there was a fountain with a soft, calming sound, and a local bakery that, according to him, made the best "ensaimada" on the island. Everything felt simpler by his side, no rush, no judgments.
“And you? What do you do for a living?” I asked, genuinely curious.
He smiled but didn’t answer directly, just shrugged.
“Ah, nothing too interesting. I have a pretty hectic life, but here I like to slow down and forget all about work.”
I respected his silence without pressing, and we continued to explore the city at night. He took me to a higher point, where the view of the city and the sea stretched out before us. The city lights reflected on the water, creating an almost surreal sight. I was speechless.
“Wow...” was all I could say.
He looked at me, smiling sideways.
“And they say Madrid has the best views in Spain.”
We stood there in silence for a few minutes, just absorbing the moment. I felt strangely comfortable next to him, as if he wasn’t a stranger I had just met, but someone I could share moments with without the need for explanations.
Finally, he looked at me again.
“If you want, I can show you more places tomorrow. But I promise I won’t take you where the tourists go.” I smiled, feeling a wave of gratitude. “I guarantee I’ll be the best tour guide you’ll ever meet.”
“I’d love that.” He nodded, satisfied.
“Perfect. See you tomorrow, then.”
“Deal.” I smiled.
“Give me your phone number.” He handed me his phone, and I typed it in, saving it as “bar girl.”
We said goodbye, and as I walked back to the hotel, I couldn’t stop thinking about how the night had taken such an unexpected turn. I still didn’t know his name. He hadn’t asked for mine, and somehow, that felt right. We weren’t strangers, but we weren’t acquaintances either. Just two people meeting on a warm night in Mallorca.
And maybe, just maybe, I was ready to find out more about him.

DAY 2 - CURSE
Also on AO3
“Oscar?” Lando asks as he takes the call, surprised to see his teammate’s name on the screen on one of their rare free Sunday mornings. Oscar is not a morning person and he always texts.
“Lando!”
Oscar’s voice sounds strange and it doesn’t take long for Lando to identify the tone as panic. Oscar never panics.
“Lando… Tell me you’re in Monaco!”
“Hum… Yes… Are you stuck outside after a night out or what?” Lando jokes because Oscar doesn’t do nights out.
“Not exactly…”
“Awww… Osc! You can tell Uncle Lando everything you know!” Lando teases but he stops when he hears another voice.
“Cabron! Tell him to come!”
There is no mistaking that accent.
“Ca-Carlos?”
“Shut up, Carlos! You were the one wanting ME to call him!”
“Because we’re in your apartment!”
“Guys?” Lando tries but the two keep bickering so he tries again a bit louder. “Guys!”
“Oh... Sorry Lando so… Hum can you come over?”
“Fast,” Carlos adds.
And okay, Oscar is never that jittery, Carlos is always way more polite and they don’t like each other so why are they together? The situation suddenly seems way less funny.
“Ok… On my way.”
“Thanks.” he hears Oscar say just before hanging up.
***
Less than fifteen minutes later, Lando is knocking on Oscar’s apartment door. He still has no idea of what is going on and neither of the scenarios his brain has come up with during the drive fits.
And still, when the door opens, Lando realises his scenarios are way less strange than what he’s seeing.
Oscar is dishevelled in a way that he even isn’t after a nap. He wears one of his boring white t-shirts but it’s covered in various stains. And he’s looking at Lando like a lost child in a mall.
But that is not even the strangest part… Lando’s eyes follow Oscar’s arm and there, in his hand is another hand that clearly belongs to Carlos.
Carlos who looks as bad as Oscar, just with fewer stains on his T-shirt.
“Come in,” Oscar finally says voice strained.
Lando follows his friends who are still holding each other’s hands. It’s kinda cute in a way. It’s true when they say hate and love aren’t that far from each other. But that still doesn’t explain why Oscar has called Lando in a panic on a Sunday morning.
“Ok, guys… I’m happy for you, really but why am I–”
“We’re not together!” Oscar cuts Lando’s sentence, turning to face him again. Carlos wasn’t expecting the move and he nearly tumbles.
“Hum… You’re holding hands.” Lando points.
“Yes, and that’s the problem!”
“Ok… I’m not sure I’m understanding what’s going on here.”
“We should sit,” Carlos suggests. “Have a coffee and then explain?”
Oscar looks at him like he’s an idiot. So they aren’t in love?
“Do you want me to remind you what happened when we tried to make coffee earlier?” he asks, gesturing to his t-shirt with his free hand.
Lando still can’t connect the dots and he doesn’t like coffee.
“Ok, we can sit but please tell me what’s going on!”
Carlos nods and moves towards the couch, tugging Oscar behind him. They sit next to each other, still holding hands when Lando plops on the armchair.
“So?” he asks, unable to hide his impatience. Nothing makes sense and Lando doesn’t like not understanding what is going on.
Oscar looks at Carlos, eyebrow lifted. Carlos doesn’t react.
“Are you going to explain? As I was so bad at it when I called Lando apparently… ”
“You’re the one responsible for this,” Carlos answers, moving their joined hands.
“What? Are you kidding me? Do you really think I’ve wanted this?”
Lando is startled by the way Oscar has just raised his voice. Oscar never raises his voice.
“Hum… Guys?”
“Sorry, Lando.” they both say at the same time before glaring at each other.
“So…” Oscar finally starts. “We’re cursed.”
Ok, that clearly wasn’t in any of the scenarios Lando imagined.
“What?”
“Start from the beginning!” Carlos says, elbowing Oscar who frowns at the touch.
“Yeah… So, this morning when I woke up, Carlos was there. In my bed. Holding my hand.”
“And I didn’t come here!” Carlos explains earning himself another glare from Oscar.
“Are you letting me explain or what?”
Carlos just shrugs. If Lando’s brain hadn’t shut off at the curse part, he would have found that funny.
“So… Yeah, Carlos didn’t come here by himself and… We can’t let go of each other.”
“What do you mean?” Lando asks, not sure he is processing all the information.
Oscar lifts his hand then and Carlos follows. He tugs towards the left and Carlos follows. Carlos tugs towards the right and Oscar follows. As if they were glued together.
“Oh…”
“That is an understatement.” Oscar deadpans.
“Have you tried to… tug harder?”
They both nod.
“We fell on the floor,” Oscar adds.
“You mean that YOU fell on the floor and made me lose my balance!”
“I fell because you tugged too hard!”
“Guys…” Lando feels the beginning of a headache around his temples. Oscar and Carlos's “hate” for each other was mostly amusing as they didn’t have to interact that much but this is getting a bit too much.
“Sorry,” they say at the same time again and, this time, Lando was expecting the glares exchange that followed.
“So… You’re cursed and you have to keep holding hands… And you called me for help because…”
“It was Carlos's idea. I wanted to call Max as his sister is a witch…”
“Lando’s mother is a witch, too!” Carlos explains, with a proud smile.
“What?” Oscar looks at Carlos and then turns towards Lando “You never told me that!”
“Sorry… Wasn’t sure if you were okay with magic and then the opportunity never came.”
“Ok… I reckon it’s not the right time to discuss this…”
“Ok… I’m going to call her and see if she can help.”
Carlos and Oscar nod as Lando grabs his phone.
***
“Yes, Mum… They are holding hands.”
“…”
“Yes, they’re stuck.”
“...”
“They tried…”
“…”
“Probably during the night as Carlos was there when Osc woke up…”
“…”
“Not really.”
Lando is pacing Oscar's living room, feeling Oscar and Carlos's gazes following him everywhere.
“Ok… yeah… Makes sense…”
“…”
“Oh… Are you sure?”
“…”
“Yeah, ok… I… Yes, of course.”
“…”
“They are not going to like that…”
“What?” Lando hears Carlos say but he doesn’t acknowledge him.
“Ok… And if it doesn’t work?”
“…”
“You’re sure?”
“…”
“Ok. Thanks Mum.”
“…”
“Yeah, I’ll let you know.”
“…”
“Bye Mum. Love you.”
“So what did she say?” Carlos asks as soon as Lando hangs the phone up.
“You… I mean… I’m just repeating what she said here.” Lando precautiously says as he sits back on the armchair.
“Go on. I don’t think it can be worse than being stuck with him.” Oscar says, with another glare towards Carlos.
“I think it could,” Lando answers as he remembers his mother’s words. She seemed really sure of herself and her explanations made sense…
“Lando… Come on!” Carlos insists.
“So… hum… It seems that the curses that link two people physically are always a way to make the people involved realise something…”
“And what are we supposed to realise? That we can’t coordinate enough to make coffee?”
Lando shakes his head and looks down before he continues.
“You’re meant to realise you have feelings for each other…”
“Feelings?” Oscar repeats.
“Oh, I have many feelings for that guy!” Carlos adds, ironically.
“The only way to break the curse is a true love kiss,” Lando concludes.
The silence that follows is deafening.
“You’re making fun of us, aren’t you?” Oscar finally asks, eyes wide open in pure horror.
Lando shakes his head. He was sure they weren’t going to like it. But now that he’s thinking about it, it’s not as ridiculous as it may seem. Like, he wasn’t that surprised when he saw them holding hands earlier. Hate to love and all that jazz. And, he’s close with both of them. He knows how different they can be but when he thinks about it, he can also see how they could complement each other.
”Lando…” Carlos asks, voice strangely low and unsure.
“Yeah?”
“Your mother… Did… Did she say it might not work… I mean… Can she be wrong?”
“She seemed quite sure.”
“Ok,” Carlos says, looking quite defeated.
“So… Hum… I’ll leave you two alone then,” Lando concludes, standing up again.
He notices the pleading eyes of Oscar but there is no way he’s staying to watch these two bickers for hours before they finally get to kiss each other out of desperation and… hopefully, realise that his mother was right and they might be a bit in love.
“Lando…” Oscar says, hesitating.
“Yeah?”
Lando looks at his teammate with what he hopes is an encouraging smile.
“We… Hum… We’ll keep you updated.” Oscar says finally.
Carlos nods and Lando can’t help but notice that it’s the first time they agreed on something.
“Have fun!” he says before seeing himself out.
And as he goes back to his flat, Lando realises he’s a bit envious… Not of the curse of course. But he’d love to have a soulmate, too.
As he thinks that, he remembers he didn’t exactly tell Oscar and Carlos about that part… They will discover it soon enough!
***
The first message comes only two hours after Lando comes back to his flat. It is from Oscar.
“Say thank you to your Mum.”
Carlos’s message follows a few minutes later.
“I hate magic.”
Lando laughs out loud at that, just before another message comes.
“Oscar told me to say thank you.”
Lando just laughs harder. This is going to be fun…

Fuming || Carlos Sainz (Drabble) Ⓢ Ⓦ
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: **18+** some fluff but really building up to smut
A/N: This is my first attempt at a drabble so bear with me. If you liked it let me know cause I have lots of drabble ideas like these which are way easier and faster for me to post
Carlos's favorite thing in the world aside from racing is being with you
In fact, he used to think that if something were to destroy his chances of continuing to race he'd have nothing else to live for again until he met you
He always thought of himself as a more reserved lover, trying to hide and have his relationship private from the world, and to some extent that was true
Except that when he fell in love with you the pride he felt every day of having you by his side never faded and he felt such a need to show you off to the world. Show you off as his.
You loved your relationship with Carlos, it was like out of a movie
Being able to travel around the world with him and share endless experiences and memories with the man you swore you would spend the rest of your life with was heaven on earth.
But Carlos has a little secret. He already thinks you're the hottest woman on earth and anything you do has him practically dribbling, except he recently started realizing how turned on he gets when you're angry.
He's not sure what it is
Maybe it's the fact that you immediately adopt a more dominant posture, a harsh contrast from the soft and gentle person you normally are.
Or maybe it's the way you seem to always end up clipping your hair up in a bun when you start arguing since your whole bodies heat increases from the anger
And when you put your hair up he has clear visual access to your neck which tenses with your anger and he just wishes you could lick a stripe up that vein that always looks so delicious to his eyes.
And then there's the more obvious fact that you immediately cross your arms when you argue pushing your breasts up and the way your nipples almost spill over the seam of your shirt makes him weak in the knees.
Ever since Carlos took full notice of this he's been sneaky in trying to rile you up at the most perfect times when you're getting dressed and are in nothing but lingerie, or when you're out at the beach and you're in your bikini, or his favorite when you're at home and you're wearing nothing but your booty shorts and tight tanktop that you find so comfortable.
No, they were never huge arguments but he always knew exactly what to say to tick you off and set you on a rant
And Carlos knew just how to ease your anger, softening his voice and adopting that sultry voice that had you on a chokehold in seconds.
He'd continue by placing small and soft and small kisses along your shoulders and traveling up your neck until he reached your cheeks
He then took his thumb to your chin parting your lip slightly before licking a stripe across your bottom lick, admiring the way your breath hitched then proceeding to make out with you slowly.
His hands would then find themselves traveling down to your breasts giving them a squeeze before pulling your bra, bikini, or tank top down to let your boobs spill over the top (One of his favorite sights)
He'd pull away from your lips to begin sucking at your nipples slowly and delicately watching how your chest moved up and down in a faster rhythm and feeling the way your fingers tangled into his hair giving it a slight tug
It wouldn't take long after for him to take you to the nearest surface where he could lay you down and begin eating you out.
He always loved the way you looked under him, your body so perfectly laid out for him and the fact that this was for his eyes only was so arousing to him.
He took the time to trace his hands all over your curves placing kisses all over your body, your neck, your clavicle, your ribs, your belly, everywhere he could possibly imagine.
You could swear there wasn't an inch in your body Carlos's lips hadn't been on.
The way you became putty under Carlos as he began slowly thrusting into you was a sight he'd never grow bored off.
"I'm still angry by the way" You'd once whimpered while he began setting a torturous pace with you.
"I know" Carlos had answered back. "And it's so fucking hot." He whispered into your ears watching your eyes grow wide at the realization of what he'd revealed.
But you had no time to say anything as Carlos's pace increased and he began pounding into you chasing his favorite sound in the world, your screams once he'd made you cum around his cock.

Carlos’ future in F1: an essay
I lost the ask about Carlos’ future in F1 😭😭 but I’ll write my answer anyway (I’m so sorry).
The person who asked me said that they liked my writing so I’m going to write a whole essay for them.
No but, for real, all that I’m going to say is a product of many many talks with my boyfriend (he’s a Mechanical engineer, specialising in power train, he knows what he’s talking about) and my uncle.
Anyway, let’s go.
First option: Mercedes.
I honestly do not think it would be wise of Carlos to accept the second Mercedes seat: firstly, he would be just that, a second driver, even if probably in a less clear way than in other teams, but still a second driver.
On top of that, it is pretty obvious now that all Mercedes is looking for is someone to warm the seat for Kimi Antonelli so even if Carlos’ results would be amazing and spectacular, they would still prefer a young promise that they can build the car entirely around.
Which is exactly the reason why I think that Fernando Alonso would be a much better choice next to George, perhaps have his last 1/2 years in the sport and then retire for good (not because I think he needs to retire, it’s obvious how good he still is in the sport, what I’m saying it’s just a matter of probability).
Second option: Stake [future Audi]
It hurts me to say, but it’s probably the most probable outcome.
The thing is, Audi is looking for an experienced driver, of course, someone that can tell them exactly what they need to do to improve, someone who knows what he’s talking about because he’s good at his job and he has a particular sensitivity to the car.
And we all know that Carlos is exactly that driver, Ferrari and McLaren and Renault have frequently appreciated his skills in the matter. He knows what to look for in a car, how to look for it and how to give feedback.
On top of that, he’s a consistent driver that knows exactly how to bring the car to its limits. What I’ve always loved about Carlos is that he knows how to bring out the best from a car even if it is not built for him (Ferrari, for example, has explicitly said that they’re building the car around Charles which is plausible - do not hate Ferrari for that, every team has to decide a first driver, that’s how the sport works and that’s what the engineers need to think about the best project).
A new team like Audi will be in 2026, that will also have the slight advantage to other teams of entering the sport at the same time as new regulations, will need someone like Carlos.
Of course, not to mention the connections that he has thanks to his dad. (Do not hate on Carlos’ family under this post, everybody’s parent would try and give their sons/daughters their best options if they can. Hating on Carlos Sainz Sr for that is the most hypocritical thing you can do).
Counterpart? He would have to deal with Stake for the 2025 season and their objectively awful car, and it would kill me.
Third option: RedBull
Ah, yes but no.
Yes because I wish for him to have a good car, I wish for him to have a good team and be on the podium every weekend and have a few wins.
Him and Max have a good relationship (whoever says that Max hates him because he’s in love with Charles, what the hell is your problem? You can ship them, alright, and you can let your imagination fly, but always remember that there’s a difference between fantasy and real life, and real life is that Max does not hate anyone and in that fucking cool down room in Bahrein he appreciated Carlos’ racecraft - you can listen to the audio again and actually listen to it - and his clean overtakes on both Charles and George - not just Charles, there was George, too, if your brain fails to remind you) despite all the people insisting on their dads’ problem and all.
That’s the no part. Unfortunately, both Max and Carlos’ careers are a bit influenced by their dads, but again, we cannot hate them for that. That’s how families are, that’s how complicated human relationships are.
Parents try to give their sons the best, that’s just how it is.
Fourth option: Aston Martin
Is it an option? Yes, no, depends on what Fernando will decide to do.
But I honestly think it would be a really good choice. Aston Martin is a great team, top of the midfield, drivers can show their abilities in that kind of car, there’s no enormous drama or anything and Lance is a pretty good teammate.
Besides, if Fernando were to leave the team, they would need another driver to ‘take the lead’. Not that Lance would not be fitting, but I think Carlos would be a great option for the development of the car and for feedbacks (see previous point in Audi section).
Fifth option: Alpine
God, please, no.
(I’m already suffering enough for Esteban and Pierre, please stop).
Sixth option: Haas
See fifth option.
(Besides, I think they were planning on giving a seat to Ollie Bearman, anyway. Given the incredible result of last week, that will almost surely be the case and deservedly so).
Seventh option: Williams
See fifth option.
I love both Alex and Logan, and I hope they’ll keep Logan for the time being.
Conclusion: where do I want Carlos to go?
Carlos is an amazing driver, consistent, smart, fast, experienced.
He makes very few mistakes and he’s really intelligent, which means that he’s able to bring out the potential of a car even when it does not perform exceptionally.
Let’s all remember that he was the only non-RedBull winner last year. And no, not because they ‘sacrificed’ Charles, but because he knew exactly what to do and how to do it and when to do it - again, smart. And no, I’m not bringing down Charles by celebrating Carlos’ win. Latest news: you can celebrate different drivers without bringing down other.
(If that were the case, then you would have to kill all your siblings because how dare your parents celebrate their birthday and not yours on the same day? Please, be reasonable when you think, your brain deserves that).
Any team would be lucky to have him.
Personally, I hope for RedBull, because then he would get a chance to perform with a great car and one that adapts to his driving style (him and Max have a pretty similar setup and pretty similar preferences when it comes to the car, which would also be a great advantage for the engineering side of the team that I just cannot ignore since I study engineering myself hahah), regardless of the whole drama that usually takes place in that team.
About that, I would like to point put that RedBull comes first and foremost as a brand, not as a driving team, which means that media and public facades are a great part of its entire existence, that’s why there’s always talking around it.
That’s what they want, that’s what they need, and it’s understandable: Ferrari has its history, McLaren has its history and its ‘modernity’, RedBull has its brand.
And it’s okay because that’s how sports work in general, that’s how the world works in general.
We should just learn to differentiate between the public appearances and the actual important aspects of the sports (strategies and the mechanic and aerodynamic part of a car and the abilities of the drivers etcetera).
Realistically, I think he will probably take Valtteri/Zhou’s seat (sadly, of course, I love each and every one of them) and start at Stake for 2025 to be part of Audi for the remaining part of his career.
That’s it, that’s what I think. Thank you anon for the question, sorry if I lost it, I hope you liked my detailed answer. 💕🫶🏻

Miami unserious race overview
Hello and welcome back. We have another interesting race behind us. My thought on each team and driver under the cut as always.
1. Red Bull
I cant believe I'm saying this but Max lost on lack of pace. This is both good news and bad news to me. Good news because the Red Bull is within reach to the rest of the grid and we might get a possible lestappen fight in the future and bad news because my Maxie lost 😭. But it's OK he's gonna win the next one (if Charles let's him he he)
And it looks like red bull got the setup wrong for this race (they applied for a change that was not approved under Parc Ferme) so I'm not too scared. And by the looks of it neither was Max.
At one point Perez had such a bad pace I was like WHAT is wrong with the Red Bull??? It's insane. I'm starting to like Checo again so I don't want him to flop too hard. But alas.. it's Checo. But please please for the love of good be good enough to keep Daniel in the midfield. 🙏
2. Ferrari
Charles was amazing once again all weekend. That's my perfect driver. He did everything right except for that spin but he controlled amazing there too. I just love him so much ok? OK. And he didn't seem too dissapointed with his pace compared to McLaren either maybe because they could keep up with them on similar tyre life's without upgrades. So those coking upgrades must be good if he is this nonchalant to losing to Lando. Like I said, both Charles and Max seemed pretty unaffected but maybe that was just them in the moment being happy for their friend. No way to tell.
Anti Carlos rant and thoughts on the rest of the grid below the cut
Carlos was horrible. Honestly just all in all a really bad performance from him. Please let us start acknowledging this. First he could not pass Daniel in the sprint, then in the race the first thing he does again is attack Charles instead of defend against Perez. Which lead to Perez barging in and almost taking both of them out. He was extremely lucky that didnt happen. Then he kept whining on the radio about how he is faster (he was 0.029 faster for god's sake). And one point when he lost the DRS he wanted a switch which was exactly when he saw he was losing pace and he needed something to happen for him to be in front. Then I don't even want to talk about the fight with Piastri. That was just embarrassing, both from a on track battle perspective and a horrible whiny human being perspective. No skill no personality nothing. I honestly don't remember him being in a battle with someone and not making contact in recent races. And then this same person goes and blames everyone but himself. And not only that, he's saying he had the win???? Honey, Lando would have passed you in half a lap if you hadn't pitted, what are you on about? What win? I wish to be this delusional one day.
Carlos rant over moving on to the man of the hour:
3. McLaren
Lando finally got the win! Yay. Kinda a lot of mixed feelings about this one. I don't want Lando to do good but I am happy that a man who has worked his entire life and has faced disappointment after disappointment is getting to have this moment. And I believe in good karma and positive attitude so I will not be a bitter hater on this one. Congrats Lando and Lando fans. And I am counting this as a win, the safety car helped him but he is not the first nor last to be helped this way, however he drove beautifully after that and deserved the place. Max and Charles fell behind on pace significantly and very fast (albeit Charles was on significantly older tyres).
I am so sorry for Oscar. He used the situation at the start then was really fast and kept both ferraris at bay for too long. All that without the full upgrade package. Really really good performance. He was my driver of the day. Not to mention he had the hardest job yesterday - having to deal with Carlos. Imagine if ferrari didn't decide to pit him first.. I cant even think about it honestly I might go crazy. Can't wait to see what he can do with all the upgrades in Imola.
4. Mercedes
They were fighting Haas all weekend. Toto should stop yapping about Max and resign once and for all.
5. RB
I think RB only have one working car but are not telling anyone. One race Daniel suddenly remembers how to drive the next one its Yuki. They switch the one working car they have each race and no k e can convince me otherwise. (Real talk tho Daniel being p20 3 hours after he got p4 in the sprint is extremely hilarious)
6. Aston Martin
They were racing? The only time I saw Strolls name was when he drove into Lando in the sprint (not his fault this time). I honestly have nothing else to say..
7. Haas
MY NEW FAVORITE TEAM!!!! They are so funny but they are gaining points from it. They provide entertainment on and off track AND they are climbing up the standings. How fucking amazing. Kevin Magnussen you beast. You my man represent what f1 should be about - unhinged chaos. He came he collected 1 minute worth of penalties he finished last. But did we have fun? We sure did. Did Lando win? He fucking won. Did Logan DNF? Unfortunately there has to be a victim here. And he has 2 penalty points left to spare before Ollie makes a comeback and with this track record I think we are about to see Ollie in Monaco. Kevin the fairy godmother of f1. Giving everyone what they want in the most entertaining way possible. Did I mentioned how much I love him? Yeah I do!
8. Alpine
Alpine got a point!!!! Another sentence I didn't think I'd be writing this soon. Good for them. I don't know if it is still only Esteban with the upgrades but it seems like it. Either way this is promising and I'm happy for them. They did that for Travis btw. If you even care.
9. Williams
I feel so sorry for Logan. I feel like I say that way too often but it's the truth this season. Poor guy. The latest victim of the Magnussen tornado. Who Will it get next week? My guess is Perez.
10. Sauber
Idk if anyone noticed but Zhou made it an insane amount if laps on a soft tyre. The last time j checked was 5 6 laps to the end and he was on lap 23 on softs. That's impressive. He probably didn't want to risk losing 50 seconds In the pits again poor guy. Other than that they need to do better. Good job to Zhou tho.
This was my lo gest overview to date I think but im happy with this race and how everything went.

It wasn't me who started crying when I read that Lando and Oscar would one day stop being teammates. This is a strange feeling my body went through. Why did I cry? Why? Oh my God! I don't think I want to experience that.
oh babe trust and believe we're all ???? at how much Lando and Oscar as teammates has hit us it's wilddd <3 they've done absolutely nothing performative or loud but apparently massive amounts of mutual respect is the absolute best drug out there for us.
(under a cut to keep out of teams' tags)
considering how evenly matched Lando and Oscar have been this season and Lando saying over and over again how Oscar has pushed him to be better I'd say we have one of the fairest shots of them deciding to stick together at McLaren beyond 2025 as anyone on the grid apart from Charles and Carlos. I only don't put Lewis and George in there bc no one but Lewis knows how long he's going to stay in F1 and their bond is primarily professional. they like each other for sure but they're in very different positions in their careers to say the least.
but Charles and Carlos are a really good example of two drivers who've found an incredibly solid bond and mutual respect riding out extremely tough times and wildly varying fortunes. the fact that both of them are equally eager to remain with Ferrari in spite of everything is at least in some part because they know their relationship will never become one of the things hindering either of their careers. there have been plenty of moments where outright rivalry or preferential treatment could have altered their dynamic but it never has. they see each other as totally unique drivers with very different careers and can keep all of that rivalry drama out of it (including Carlos' gd family doing their best to try create it w the help of shit stirring fans). Charles and Carlos fully expect the other to fight for the championship as much as the other will but there's no existing history or personal pettiness to muddy that into a problem.
and while it's a totally different dynamic, that's exactly the kind of 'mutual respect above all' type relationship we can see with Lando and Oscar. and to me the fact that Oscar spent at least the previous 8 years getting to know Lando from a distance, plus the fact that Lando has always been so open about his mentality and his mental state, is so specifically helpful to their dynamic. especially because they're so close in age and Lando not being the type to wield his F1 experience over someone else or get all cocky about it. and I think that's specifically in response to how much Oscar chose to let Lando be at the forefront of visibility and demonstrably positioning Lando as The Star. I would NEVER have imagined that Lando would respond so positively and supportively to a rookie teammate winning a sprint win before him. I don't mean that I think he would've been a jerk or petulant, I mean that my expectation was for that win to become a permanent wedge mentally between Lando and Oscar. but nope, he genuinely actively warmed more to Oscar even more after that <3
good god I cannot shut UP but what I'm saying here anon is that we should honestly just not bother thinking about the end of 2025. there's as much likelihood that Lando and Oscar will look at RB and Mercedes and think nah I'm better off here at McLaren as there is either of them going elsewhere. bc driving Max's car or dealing w Toto could easily not be worth it - esp since McLaren seem to have a steadier upward trajectory than say, Aston Marton (so much would have to change for AM to be a forward career move for Lando or Oscar).
quick fic side note but I'm absolutely dying to have the time cleared to read Superdense Neutron Star/Post Supernova bc god I can tell that fic is going to live with me
but the easy, non-compromising relationship they've already formed considering that they're both young and hungry is SUCH a strong pull for staying together at McLaren. Oscar is happy for Lando to be whoever he needs to be and that means Lando will only get higher and higher in the rankings. Lando has responded to Oscar's deference off the track by giving him praise and respect that means any of Oscar's currently unknown to us but inevitable insecurities are taken care of. while no one can say what will happen we can at least say that we've got the best setup for them staying together!
there's also of course the obvious: Lando being so deeply embedded at McLaren and getting star treatment that he wouldn't get anywhere else - and the fact that Oscar took a massive gamble to get to McLaren and has been watching Lando's career so closely for so long. sometimes a career can take so many unfair hits that someone like Alex Albon finds at least temporary stability with a Williams but hope to move on. sometimes a driver can be shrewd and organized enough to get themselves into exactly the right spot like Carlos with Ferrari but he doesn't have complete security. but sometimes it's entirely possible that a young up and comer (or two) finds exactly the right fit from the start of their F1 career and succeeds for years and years!
and looking even further ahead to when they're both closing in on like 30 everything in F1 will be so different that I can't even fathom it so I'm just choosing to not bother! it's like how I see ppl in IG comments saying they hope Oscar marries Lily and I'm like ??? I just see married ppl as SOOOO different to college age that I don't know how people can make those leaps but maybe I'm just super immature lagfljafjh
side side note that while I'm absolutely positive Max and Lando would be horrific in every sense imaginable for Lando, I do occasionally enjoy imagining Oscar there at some point simply bc he's the only driver I can imagine giving RB pause. he's so smart and adaptable that he'd fucking dominate immediately in that car and they'd be braindead to not think hmmmm, this guy is (for example) only 25 and Max is almost 30 - maybe we should let Oscar choose a few specs for himself and see what happens. he could match Max in car smarts, focus and ambition but oooops he also has a sense of calm under stress that Max will never have. Max could openly despise him and it wouldn't affect Oscar's performance at all. and oohhhh to have Oscar be the one to topple the ivory tower nepotism at RB with a nailbiter of a WDC decision in the final race? to see what Max does in response to that? to have Alpine fanboys throwing chicken tendies at the wall watching Oscar's podium where he's also celebrating the championship? ohhhh fuck that's a tantalizing thought.
SORRY lol I really do not see that happening I just find that image so fucking hot. I don't actually want to see Oscar having to deal with RB in reality.

Do you maybe know if there are articles with the reactions of younger drivers to max coming into f1? Like maybe what drivers like esteban, pierre, alex, charles or even like george were thinking at that time. I'm just really curious to know what the younger Gen of drivers (especially esteban since he won the previous championship) were saying when they saw one of their peers in a f1 car, winning in an f1 car, before they were even on the grid.
Thats a fun question!! idk if I went looking for it the right way but well here u go. 😽🌼
Just somethign to keep in mind is that teen athletes are literally being held at gunpoint at all times by somebody whose sole job is to make sure everybody likes them and they're like thee most employable people in the world. So they wont exactly come out and say how they feel in that moment u shud prolly look to older drivers or mentors or pundits for that. Also Reddit is down and that’s usually where u can find some real juicy and biased one liners without context. The real stuff yk.
Ok so in 2015/2016 I think all Esteban said when asked was that Max had become his 'reference point' and that he hoped to join Max in f1 and ‘eventually beat him’. But something he's admitted since then is that Max's f1 debut was 'difficult to swallow' because he was the one who was winning in f3 and yet Max got the invite. I think Esteban understands why and ultimately he used Max's achievement as motivation, and still does. Last year he called Max a ‘shining example of their generation of drivers’ which I thought was very beautiful.
Baby sharls declarations to the media on the other hand are literally just chatgp wid a mortal conscience. No fr. In 2014 he called Max a 'formidable rival' and said competing wid Max 'builds character' and 'multiple crashes wid Max on track gave him 'additional experience’ in his career. Also ‘coming within 2 seconds of Max Verstappen in KTM was exceptional’. 😭 bro had that experience section LOCKED he wasn’t taking any chances. George I couldn’t find any quotes from that year but George has always had a backhanded type of media game he likes to play wid Verstappen that imo, is very insecure and boring. Last year he said that Max was ‘very patient wid Red Bull’ because in ‘5 years he only won won like 8 races’ and now this season he’s won ‘like 15’. Even tho he ‘deserved to fight for titles sooner’ he didn’t have a ‘championship car’ and now he does so he can. Remarkable. George later adds to this completely unprompted that maybe if Max had ‘signed wid merc first’ and gotten Lewis Hamilton for a teammate’ he wudnt have had such an ‘easy time’ and maybe his career wud resemble George’s more. I have nothing to say to this because I’m an incredibly mature person and it’s pride month. I will instead take a sip of water and listen to my gf snore and wonder what nick latifi is doing. If hes happy.
Now here is where we’re gonna put the Max Generational Limit because the following drivers are all at least 2 years older than Max and had their careers inadvertently shaped by helmut putting an underage child in a f1 car.
So Daniil Kvyat as u can imagine wasn’t exactly ✨thrilled ✨ considering max went on to steal his seat ((and his baby mama.😐😐)). When asked about the mid season swap wid Max he said, ‘I don't know, 18 years old is probably on the edge. But who can say? It is his seat now and it is up to him to do something with it’. To Kvyats credit Max did do something wid it lmfao. He has also recently talked about rbr ‘stabbing him in the back’ and that he wishes he could’ve ‘competed wid Max in equal machinery’ in toro rosso which is funny to me because the mf who did that also got beat for the rbr seat. 😐
Carlos unfortunately suffered from the incurable Max Rivalry disease that has affected 1 in 100 drivers in the world is highly contagious and symptoms include: hallucinations, helmut marko hate crimes, possible mclaren implications. In 2014 while helmut was reshaping pediatric care under the guise of a ‘Junior Programme’ and floating the idea of signing Max because he’s literally allergic to not giving everybody the tea all the time Carlos immediately said he ‘deserved the rbr seat more than Max’ because ‘Max was third in his championship and was beat by another rookie’ ((ESTEBAN MENTION)) and Carlos was ‘the level above that’ which I presume is like Jesus. So ok he wasn’t. That’s fine, it happens, its the disease. Pierre. I don’t care for Pierre he was terminal.
Finally, Alex. Again I literally couldn’t find any direct quote from 2014-2016 about Max but in 2020 Alex said even in karting max was already ‘the young guy to beat’. He’s also made some infamous comments about the way rbr builds their cars that he’s had to backtrack and explain so many times and I kinda feel bad for him because he’s sm bigger than his time wid Red Bull it shouldn’t even matter anymore. However. He did give us this sexy quote on verstappen’s untamable big nosed twin: ‘And when I got into the Red Bull … I mean there was so much nose on the thing that if you blew on the wheel the car would turn. If you play Call of Duty, or a game like that, turn your sensitivity up to the highest it will go. That’s what it’s like to drive that car’ 😋

Watching Brazil gp 2016
and my comments (mostly just me crying over Max and a lot of emojis, don't expect any wheel knowledge)
Max looks so young 😭
can't believe it, they're actually praising Max 🤯
GP sounds exactly the same 😂
6 laps and the safety car is still there, when will the fun begin? 😔
Toto looks so fucking young wtf
why is Max as VES on the timesheet instead of VER? (oh, apparently someone else had VER (reverse driver?))
intermediates with so much water still? Seems like a bad idea
the new timesheet is so much better, you can't see shit on the old one
Sebastian! That looked scary!
brocedes trading the fastest lap. I wish I'd watched their fight live 😔
Max going into pitlane when Ericsson was there looked terrifying from far away, but from the onboard, it looked quite controlled from Max's side
Horner and Magnussen's radio at the same time, congratulations, I didn't hear either of them 😒
safety car again
KIMI NOOO
safety car again 🥲
hearing Sebastian being a bitch (rightfully of course), I wish I watched him race and be a menace live
red flag, stupid rain
wow, Carlos, you don't have to look so good, chill
young Max again 😭
another crash, I wonder if they'll drive the whole race or finish earlier
"he is very much letting Nico Rosberg know he's there" Max being Nico's nightmare is so funny to me 😂
Max looks like when you're trying to pass some a very slow-walking person on the pavement. left, right, left, right 😂
and another red flag. I should've just watched the highlights 😭
IS THAT CHARLES
Daniel ☹️
this is the worst race to watch today, I don't have the patience for this today
I'm going to take my dogs on a walk and the race will probably still be red-flagged
we're racing again, I wonder for how long (lap 29/71)
I'm literally only watching this race for that one Max's overtake on Rosberg, how long till I'll finally see it 😭
Perez in 4th so weird, who would have thought he can do that
MAX VERSTAPPEN OVERTAKING NICO ROSBERG
"What confidence! The boy just goes and finds grip everywhere else! Okay, you're going there, I'll just go somewhere else then and see how it is out there! Absolutely brilliant"
"Get in there Maxy" 😭
I've seen everything I needed 😂
Fastest lap for Max. Little truck terror at the age of 19 stressing brocedes
SHIT MAX almost crashed! Kept it on the track beautifully, but Rosberg on his ass now! He kept the second! Looks to me like Max feels way more confident in the rain than Rosberg
Max's driving looked so calm during that almost crash. I'm always in awe of how the driver can keep calm in that speed
Max 5th again bc of the pitstop :/ and again intermediates when a heavy rain is supposed to come?
one thing didn't change, drivers screaming about being pushed from the track
imagine if Nico crashed, he would kiss that championship goodbye
and we've got another crash and safety car, yay 😒 just 20 laps to go, pls
RedBull just trading intermediates and wet like socks
Max in the pits again. I wonder how the race will end, max in 16th and 23 minutes till the end of the race.
nvm, Max in 13th 🤣
The 3 RedBulls in a row looked so cool
Max in the points!
"One word to describe Max: relaxed" "He's outrageous" "it's a textbook lesson on how to drive in the rain" the commentators are praising Max so much 😭 bring this energy back, I want to hear it in 2024 😭
Daniel and Max match each other's freak fr
what the fuck did they do to the cars now, people just casually are gaining 11 positions and now they barely overtaking 😕 or maybe it's the track, ig I'll see when Brazil happens this year
so Max just pushed Sebastian off the track and no one is screaming and calling for his murder?? They were amused by the thought of the talk whether Sebastian was ahead or not?? what is going on 🤯
RedBull loves Max so much 😭
Max is on the fucking podium from 16th and he is getting praise from everyone 😭

Wip Wednesday!! Shoutout to the tarlos haven discord for helping me keep on top of my writing with sprints. Here's a little preview from my most recent sprint:
And TK had had some trust issues after that, but he worked hard to get over them. It was easy to push his uneasiness around strangers away when his dad came back a few months later, badly wounded and left changed by something very few people could understand. TK had wanted to be strong for his father, to show him that while something inside of Owen's mind had shifted, his son would always be the same, strong young man he could one day pass the crown onto. It didn't matter if his parents stopped talking to each other for days on end. It didn't matter that he began to drink himself to sleep every night, just to quell the voices in his mind telling him of all the horrors on the other side of the castle wall. It didn't matter that he started feeling more like a statue on a pedestal than a person, that he was always more admired than seen. As long as his parents had hope in something, had hope in him, all would eventually go back to being right.
Then, he had met Alex, and he had finally felt seen. Alex told him he was beautiful and impressive, and it validated everything TK had strived for so long to achieve. He told TK he was strong and brave and special. It was everything he had ever wanted to hear, especially when his mother and father had been too busy to say it to him themselves.
And then one day, Alex had changed. He met Mitchell, and it turned out TK wasn't so special after all. Suddenly, it was abundantly clear to TK that the image he had strived for so long and so hard to cultivate of a strong leader was nothing more than exactly that: an image.
And when those emotions had taken over all his rational thought, when he was useless and broken and half-dead from drink somewhere in the middle of the Western Woods, TK had given up. He decided then that he would never be a good king, much less a good mage or even a good person. He would never trust his heart to anyone else again, if only to spare himself the pain.
But that's not all there is to the story, is there? the little voice of hope pushes. It isn't over. Something changed.
"I got brave again," he says to himself. He spits at the floor when too much bile rises in his mouth. "Which means I got stupid. Thinking I could go anywhere in this kingdom, as long as I had someone who cared for me so much always by my side."
He can picture Carlos' wounded look in his mind. His small frown and wrinkled forehead. Do you hate me for giving you that? The ability to live freely? he says.
TK rubs the small few tears he has left to give on his shoulder. "Of course not, my love," he answers truthfully. He doubts he ever would have been brave enough to leave home in the first place without Carlos stepping into his life.
Then live a little longer. He imagines Carlos' warm breath on his cheek, the small, loving pressure of a kiss to his lips. I am coming for you. I swear it.
thanks to @whatsintheboxmh @heartstringsduet @lemonlyman-dotcom and @emsprovisions for the tags!

Juke Jeudi time! This time you get a double feature. Art and a story! Enjoy.
Tumblr media
Ever since the stamps went away and Julie was able to hug her boys, things were going good in the Molina house. Although nobody knew how or why it happened, none of them complained about it. The boys could still spend time with their favorite alive person (because they still weren’t sure exactly what they were) and happy that they could still spend time with each other.
It was one of those days where things were more quiet than normal. Reggie was hanging out with Ray and Carlos, Alex was probably with Willie somewhere, and Luke was in the studio, working on a new song he and Julie had started. He hadn’t come up with any lyrics, but he’d started plucking out some notes on his guitar that fit with the melody they came up with.
Eventually all his ideas had been spilled out and he left the pages on the piano. He wasn’t sure what time it was, but Julie must be home from school now, right? He shrugged and poofed himself up to her room, hoping she’d be there.
She startled with a jump and rolled her eyes. She tried to look angry but Luke saw right through it.
“How did you even know I’d be here yet?” She asked, barely having set her backpack down by her bed.
“It was just a hunch.” He shrugged. “Whaddya say we go work on that new song?” He asked, a grin forming at the end of his lips.
“I would love to, but I just got slammed with a bunch of homework for tomorrow.” Julie sighed heavily. “And you remember what my dad said. I’ve got to focus on school first.”
“School can wait, Jules. You always get it done anyway, right?”
Once again she rolled her eyes. “Yes, but that’s not the point right now. I need to crank out some of this stuff before we go into the studio.”
Luke rolled his eyes and pouted. “C’mon… you’re sure you can’t just take a little break before working on your boring school work?”
“Yes, Luke, I’m sure. It won’t take long, okay? I promise we’ll work on it after.”
He was still pouting but nodded and sighed. “Fine. I guess we can do that.”
Julie smiled at him and grabbed one of her books out of her backpack. “You’re still more than welcome to join me. I don’t mind the company.” She said, that smile of hers turning into a smirk.
“Oh, why thank you.” He smirked back and sat on her bed.
After Julie grabbed the book, (some Shakespeare play that Luke had unfortunately recognized from his own high school days) she sat up on the bed as well. She propped herself up against the head of her bed, her pillows behind her back, and started to read.
Luke sighed quietly to himself, not so patiently waiting for when the two of them could go out to the studio. He knew that this is what she needed to do though. He knew Mr. Molina meant it when he said Julie needed to focus on school, otherwise their so-called “plug” would be pulled. And as much as he wanted to work on the song, waiting for her to finish her homework so they could still make music together was worth all his time.
Eventually Julie was about halfway done with her reading, which took shorter than Luke thought it would. She set her book down momentarily and decided to stretch.
“Jeez, I should’ve sat at my desk. That board against my back is not comfortable.” She mumbled, raising her arms up.
Luke nodded. “I can’t imagine it would be. At least the pillows help though.”
“I suppose. Thankfully I don’t have much more to read, though.”
“And then we can go work on our song.” Luke said as he grinned.
“And then we can go work on our song.” Julie laughed, grabbing her book again. This time though, instead of resting against the board and her stack of pillows, she leaned up against Luke.
His eyes widened a bit and then his grin turned to a soft smile. “Sounds like a plan, boss.”
Julie laughed quietly and returned to her book. As her eyes went over the pages and the words form sentences in her head, she eventually found herself under Luke’s arm, her head not too far away from his.
He looked down at her, happy to have her in his arms. So glad he can finally hold her and be around her without being afraid that they’d never be able to touch. That they could never hold hands. That this little relationship of theirs couldn’t go anywhere. Now he felt like he didn’t need to worry about that anymore.
Her eyes glanced up and she saw his soft hazel eyes staring into her own. They looked at each other for a second, taking in each other’s beauty, until they both leaned closer and their lips locked together.
After they pulled away, Luke grinned.
“I think this little relationship of ours just got a bit more interesting.”

Dinosaur and Magic AUs apparently 😁
Okay so world where everyone has one magic gift. Some of them are really cool (levitation), some of them are very destructive (that awkward moment when you learn your toddler's magic gift is Fireballs), usually they're nothing special. Like you find out your magic gift is always being able to pick avocados that will be ripe exactly when you need them, or you're a necromancer, but only for overwatered cacti.
Julie's magical gift of being able to see ghosts and bring them back to life with the power of he hugs is a little bit of a shock. It's a powerful gift, considering Rose's magic of Summoning Car Keys and Ray's gift of always knowing exactly how someone takes their coffee.
She's only done it a few times, because she really needs to love that person for it to work. But let's just say Grandma Molina lived to see 130 before she patted Julie's hand and told her she was ready to go. Which, considering she didn't come back as a ghost and crossed over, was pretty clear, even though it was heartbreaking.
(It meant her Mom came back to her, though, and maybe that broke her friendship with Carrie because she wasn't able to bring her mom back when she and Carrie were both six. Just because something is a gift, doesn't mean it's always a blessing, her Mom explained.)
Still, when she met this dreamy ghost called Luke and fell in love with him after a few months of him haunting her Mom's studio and she brought him back, the Pattersons did call it a blessing. Luke was grateful for his second chance, even though he was kind of upset when he realised this meant he had to go back to high school.
Thankfully he makes friends pretty quickly at his new school. And drags them into a band with Julie, because who can say no to Luke's puppy eyes? (No, that's not his gift, it's summoning knit beanies. Not very useful in LA.)
Alex, their drummer, can turn into a cat, which Reggie, their bassist, is very, very jealous of. He shrugs when they ask him what his gift is. "Dogs really like me?" he suggests. Some people never really figure out what their gift is, or only very late in life. Like Tía Victoria, who only found out she was able to turn snow into powdered sugar after a very disastrous ski trip to Aspen with her college girlfriend.
It's not until he shows up at band practice one morning holding a box and looking very nervous that they find out what his gift is.
Which is... summoning tiny dinosaurs.
Real live dinosaurs, just teeny tiny. The biggest one, a long neck, is about the size of a chihuahua.
"What am I supposed to do with them?" he asks, desperate. "I just woke up this morning and they were in my room."
"Well first," Flynn suggests, reaching her hand in despite Alex' nervous protests. "Maybe call a museum or paleontologist or something because I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be feeding a stegosaurus donuts for breakfast."
"Yeah, I don't know, man," Luke agreed. "I can call my dad and see if anyone at his old university knows anyone with a specialty in dinosaurs. They look pretty real to me, but who knows. Maybe your power is just summoning creatures you imagined."
"Quick, summon a tiny unicorn!" Flynn said, and Reggie screwed his eyes shut. No unicorns appeared.
"I don't think I created them from my own imagination," Reggie said. "Because like, I never really knew velociraptors had feathers."
Nobody said anything. In fact, they looked concerned, and then panicked.
"Oh!" Reggie said, slinging his backpack off his shoulders and zipping it open. "Meet Chompy. I couldn't put him in the box with the others, he kept trying to eat Humphrey." Chompy, true to his name, snapped at them, before going back to devouring what appeared to be half of a beef jerky. His plumage was rather bright and gorgeous.
"Okay," Alex said, faintly.
In the end they called Mister Patterson, as well as Rose and Ray and Tía. This was an All Adults On Board kind of situation.
Carlos was delighted with his new pet brontosaurus for his birthday, though.

Soft poly!charlos is one of my favourite things. The idea of giving kisses as thanks? Perfect. Imagine a lazy day where neither of the boys has to do anything so the day is spent cuddling and kissing and cooking together. My personal head anon is that Carlos’ way of thanking you guys (aside from kisses, of course) is cooking for the two of you. And you and Charles don’t have to do anything but sit on the counter and look pretty (Carlos’ exact words)
- 💍
I love this!! The kisses idea is so so cute and I’m more than happy to discuss it more.
Firstly, the kisses as thanks start out as something for Charles to do to say thank you for all the things you and Carlos do for him, so that he feels less guilty about it.
But pretty quickly it becomes a thing all three of you do to each other, because everyone deserves cheek kisses!! Charles is the one who does it most often, but all of you love giving and receiving them.
Anyway, back to the point. A chilled day at home with both of them doesn't come often, so when it does you all treasure it. Charles is in absolute heaven, cuddled between his two Doms, getting kisses and cuddles.
I think that Carlos is always messing with Charles? He loves ruffling Charles's hair and poking his cheeks, randomly picking up his arm and dropping it again, tickling and poking him just because he can.
And Charles just LOVES this. He giggles to sweetly, squirming away and trying to hide in your arms but he's smiling so wide and it's so clear he's loving the attention. And of course you get cheek kisses for 'saving' him from Carlos.
That's how your morning goes, cuddling and kissing and watching as Carlos is an absolute menace to charles's delight.
But eventually you all start to get hungry and Carlos insists on making lunch. You offer to just order something, that way no one needs to leave the cuddle pile, but Carlos refuses.
Carlos needs to show you and Charles how much he appreciates you two sometimes. It makes him feel good to know that he's providing for you two. Even though you're a dom, he still feels the need to make sure you know how much he loves you as well. It just makes him feel so good to know that he's helping his partners.
Originally, you and Charles were going to stay cuddled on the couch while Carlos cooked. This lasted all of five seconds before Charles started to get unsettled.
Charles had been in a light subspace for the entire morning, a result of being so close to his Doms and relaxing. But then Carlos left.
Even though he knew exactly where Carlos was and when he would be back, it didnt matter. He was in subspace and one of his Doms had left and he didnt like it!!
So you decide to take him to the kitchen with you, because you can't stand seeing Charles uncomfortable. Carlos is confused when you two arrive, but you just say that Charles wanted to be with both his Doms and Carlos is so full of love at the sentence that he thinks his heart might burst.
Naturally he has to go give Charles two cheek kisses.
Charles, bless him, asks what he did to deserve the kisses.
"You made me very happy," Carlos explains, giving him another cheek kiss for good measure.
You and Charles sit at the kitchen counter, holding hands and looking pretty for Carlos while he cooks.
And of course, you both give Carlos cheek kisses as thank you when he's finished with lunch.

I know I'll be in the minority, but I think this story arc is pretty good. Carlos had a past before TK and they can't possibly have covered everything in their 2+ years together. There are things that TK is uncomfortable sharing from his past so why shouldn't the same be said for Carlos? Is it so hard to imagine Carlos barely more than a teenager feeling so lost and unaccepted that he seeks comfort in the one person he feels like he can trust? That he makes a desperate decision in the hopes of being "normal" enough for his family to accept him?
I think the secret works and I think Tim deserves more credit than he's getting. These are complex characters in a drama series so I'm not sure exactly what people were expecting...
I can’t speak for anyone else but my issue is not with the plot itself. It makes perfect sense to me why an 18 or 19 year old Carlos, lost and confused and so heartbroken that he’s let his parents down, would do this. It even makes sense to me why he wouldn’t tell TK for all this time, even tho I don’t like it and I wish he had because TK has always been so honest and he doesn’t deserve to be looking at spending the rest of his life with someone who lies to him. I can make it all make sense, character wise, even if it’s not my favorite thing they’ve ever done.
My problem is that this was clearly not actually planned out from the beginning. It was an idea that they never ended up exploring, and that immediately puts dozens of plot holes and canon inconsistencies into the past three seasons (why did carlos and Michelle never talk about this? Why was Carlos allowed to participate in the investigation into her disappearance when he was legally her husband? If Andrea and Gabriel thought TK knew all along, how has this never come up by accident? Iris didn’t present with schizophrenia until after she came back, but she had a boyfriend before she disappeared so there is a stretch of years where she wasn’t with Carlos anymore but didn’t need his insurance yet, so why didn’t they divorce at that point?? Etc etc etc). Flawed characters I am always on board for. Lazy writing and inconsistent plots I find much more unforgivable lol. It’s not gonna ruin my personal love of the show. I just thought the writers were better than this and that’s annoying.
