Seeing Mutant Mayhem's concept art of Leo with braces makes me very very happy because I used to wear braces and he looks adorable. But that does bring up two funny implications.
Either Splinter somehow managed to get not only a dentist, but also an orthodontist to regularly check up on his mutant turtle child and be chill with it. (And judging from other concept art of Leo's notes, it seems the kiddos are disguising themselves regularly enough to go to school, so this might be the case)
OR, the more amusing option, Splinter allowed a tiny Donnie to study dental healthcare for the sole purpose of fixing Leo's teeth.

TOP HEADLINE TODAY: big hit entertainment releases a trailer on official youtube channel, announcing bts’ upcoming world tour
two years made a night and day difference in your relationship. after the highs and lows that brought several short-term breakups, 2018 was supposed to be your and jungkook’s year. it was a fresh start and the turn of your early twenties was the world at your fingertips. young, beautiful and wealthy - it was a dream for any idol in south korea.
a fresh start wasn’t always easy when skeletons lurked in your closet, though. watching your boyfriend pace back and forth in his kitchen, a glass of whiskey on the rocks at hand, jungkook looked completely different. you weren’t sure if you’d finally snapped out of the daze that framed him as a teenager, bursting with energy, but things hadn’t been the same in a long time.
“yeah, y/n is coming with me,” you heard him say, your ears perking up at the sound of your name. it was hard to read his tone, but something told you that the person on the other end was surprised at his statement.
he finally noticed that you walked into the room, having finished slipping on your coat. jungkook sighed, tilting back the last of his drink and telling the person on the phone that he had to go. his furrowed eyebrows were telling enough that he was annoyed with you.
“what? i only took an hour,” you said, walking over from the doorway of his bathroom.
jungkook rolled his eyes. “an hour after the party started. let’s get going, the boys said they’re waiting for us,” he complained. “you’re the one who insisted on coming with me, anyway.”
at that, you didn’t say anything because you knew it would only escalate into an argument. jungkook had been recently accusing you of being overly controlling when it came to hanging out with his friends, which led to an invite to tonight’s party to be extended to you, as well.
however, parties at places like hotel azure were now a routine for you and jungkook, which was one of the only things that was constant against change in the past two years. with fame came notoriety and after clawing your way up the social ladder amongst the country’s musical elite, invitations to galas and lounges and the vip section of the club came left and right. everyone now knew you as one of the idol power couples behind the curtain and your respective presences were expected at events.
a molasses-like tension sat in the air when it came to this. although you and jungkook were known as one, it wasn’t easy to ignore jungkook’s individual stardom that garnered mass attention. his biggest supporter, you loved this for him - until you didn’t. he would jet off to tokyo and shanghai to party with a-listers and meet new people everywhere he went. he was rising before your very eyes and you couldn’t help but feel left behind.
“did you not tell them we got back together?” you suddenly asked, trailing out the front door with an impatient jungkook.
he only shrugged. it was hard to keep up when you and jungkook had taken several sporadic “breaks” over the last year. as a couple, you showed your best and smiled in front of everyone. however, your friends were the ones who would witness arguments in the corner of the room or furious frenzies of text arguments whilst working.
it was hard to manage a relationship that was akin to a fire - passionate, but ready to set ablaze at all times.
you weren’t sure how you and jungkook got to this point. you were no longer kids who only had each other. it could’ve been so many things - age, fame, money. there were other underlying issues that came with all these things. after all, by the time you were sat in the car, the first flask was already finished between you and him.
the drive to hotel azure was a blur and before you knew it, you were taking shots with kim yoojung and suzy in the penthouse suite. jungkook had walked away with his friends upon entering the party and it was already a lost idea to find him. you exchanged few words on the way to the venue, as he seemed to still be frustrated with you for a variety of reasons.
besides, it was a jackson wang party. the suite was filled to the brim with the who’s who of the entertainment industry, all mingling and dancing in an exalted existence that only celebrities enjoyed. others were outside at the rooftop pool, basking in the first of the year’s warm air. there were too many things going on at once.
the only warmth you were concerned with was the hot sensation spreading throughout your body from hennessy. “how’s the filming of your new show?” you asked suzy, who was now flushed from the round of drinks.
“exhausting. how’s the recording of your new album?” she sighed.
  “exhausting.”
a murmur of agreement ensued. that was why everyone was gathering - an escape from the fastlane of their lives. the industry was draining and every forced smile for the cameras only weighed heavier on someone.
“that nct member your boyfriend is friends with was passing out xans,” warned yoojung, poking your side.
a year ago, you would have made a scene. now jaded and long given up on trying to knock some sense into him, you peeked over yoojung’s shoulder to check out the hallway ahead. turning back to the other two women, you already made up your mind.
“the bathroom over there is free,” was all you had to say and with you swiping your clutch off the counter, they knew what you were thinking. they knew what was in its contents.
you had to - it was a jackson wang party. ironically, you were never able to recall actually seeing jackson at his parties. really, you weren’t able to recall much in general the day after for certain reasons and tomorrow was looking no different when you busted out of the bathroom minutes later, giggling and brushing off your clothes. at the very least, you knew that you weren’t looking out of place, especially if what yoojung said was true. everyone in the room could afford the best to use, so why wouldn’t they?
“we should go to the pool!”
it didn’t take much convincing for you to be dragged outside, as the high was settling in and you suddenly became a social butterfly. the three of you arrived poolside, where you were greeted by more of your peers. you wouldn’t call them your friends.
the exception was jimin, who you were surprised to see. he was very amicable and well-liked amongst social circles, but wild parties were never quite his scene. some of jungkook’s group mates had an affinity for nights out, but you and jungkook attended a specific genre of parties that the others didn’t vibe with on the regular.
you smiled a little too wide. “jimin!”
the group you approached sat poolside on a couch, as jimin scooted over to make room for. you barely fit, but he made sure to make it work for one of his best friends’ girlfriend. stumbling a bit when you squeezed past others’ knees, he offered his arm to help steady you.
“hey, y/n. jungkook went somewhere else?” he asked slowly, examining your face.
jimin had a beer in his hand and appeared significantly more sober than the other partygoers, who were now immersed back into their previous conversation after your arrival. suzy and yoojung were laughing with the others, probably now too high and drunk to even remember that they walked over with you. meanwhile, jimin had his jacket on, as if he was right about to leave until you came outside. his mind was changed when he saw how wasted you were.
you looked around, hoping the fresh air would help you focus. “mmm, yeah. think he’s with jaehyun.”
it didn’t. it also felt like hours since you last spotted your boyfriend, but you were having fun. however, that wasn’t what jimin was concerned about.
“you’re doing okay?” jimin questioned, a frown tugging at his lips.
if it wasn’t someone like jimin who knew you well, it wouldn’t be so obvious that you were now quite inebriated. your giggles were a little too loud and you would never stumble in high heels sober.
when you didn’t answer, jimin finished the last of his drink and set it on the table in front of you before standing up. there was a glint of worry in his eyes.
he said, “stay right there. i’m going to get you some water and find jungkook.”
truthfully, you didn’t want him to locate your boyfriend, but jimin was already off. you huffed some hair out of your face. you didn’t think you were in that bad of a shape.
now that there was room on the couch, you were able to move over. when jimin left, you noticed that the girl next to you was watching the interaction the entire time. she was young and the doe-like expression on her face read that this was her first time at hotel azure. she was dressed to the nines and carried herself with energy.
“hi, you’re nova!” it was more of an exclaimation than a question, when she smiled at you.
your mood dampened at this. you did not have time to be entertaining whatever lucky rookie idol she was, probably scoring a luky invite. you also despised being called your stage name when you weren’t in front of a camera or fans. however, you put on your best plastered on smile.
“hi. you are?” you asked, wanting to try to be polite.
she ignored it. “wow, so it’s true then?” she asked. “you’re dating jungkook! and you were just talking to jimin, you must be so close with all of bts!”
it was like an immediate headache onset, as you tried not to wince at her nearly screaming into your ear. the music was loud, but not that loud. at least she acknowledged you first, some people often went all in by just talking about jungkook. you would have engaged in actual conversation with her if she didn’t ignore your first attempt.
  “y/n, try this!”
a red solo cup was pushed in front of your face and you didn’t think twice about taking a sip. anything to not hear the girl drone on about your boyfriend. it was sour and medicinal at the same time, causing you to make a face. the actor who passed it to you chuckled, as you gave it back.
  you coughed. “that was disgusting.”
for some reason, the smell of the drink alone made your head hurt. you mumbled an ‘excuse me’ at the young idol, who was still talking about bts the entire time that interaction with the drink happened, and got up. your legs were weak.
for a while, you were walking around with no purpose, observing those around you blankly. when the drinks and the drugs and the desire to fit in faded away, it was boring.
you wondered if you actually liked being at these parties or if you were there just because. the “just because” could have been anything - just because it was expected by your circle, just because it was the only way to let out steam from the demands of your job. maybe even. . .just because of jungkook.
  “looking for your boyfriend?”
at some point, you wandered over to the shadowy corner of the rooftop, where someone was smoking a joint. you tried your best to recall his name, as you’d just been on a variety show with him, but the best you could do was remember that he was a member of winner. you winced at yet another mention of jungkook, but ignored it again.
he held the joint out as an offer and you accepted without hesitation, letting the smoke fill your insides. it was easy to ignore the burn in your throat when you’d already been putting random substances into your body since the night began.
“not really,” you admitted, though you did scan the crowd when you did.
he cocked an eyebrow. “oh? aren’t you two always hand in hand at these things?” he made a gesture, referring to the party as a whole.
a year or two ago, you would have spent the entire party on jungkook’s lap and exclusively mingled and drank from that same spot. as time went on and jungkook began attending parties and clubs without you, it was a growing occurrence that you began doing your own thing when you appeared with him.
“dunno,” was all you could say, not wanting to talk more about it.
it appeared that he got the hint, dropping the subject of jungkook. instead, he failed to hide the once over he made of your appearance and you fought a shiver. you felt like you were naked under his stare, as your skin-tight maxi dress didn’t leave much to the imagination. you never felt unsafe to wear what you wanted on a night out - albeit, your boyfriend was usually with you.
“you cold? want my jacket, sweetie?” he asked, sugar lacing every one of his words.
that’s when you became alert, despite your body’s lack of sobriety working against you. he had taken a half-step towards you and you instantly stepped backwards. you’d never been so uncomfortable, but it was a struggle to steady yourself.
you mustered up some solidity in your voice. “no. you can back up now,” you said, handing the joint back to him. “thanks.”
he didn’t get the hint. “then, do you wanna go inside with me? where’s it’s warmer?”
the smirk on his face sent off alarms in your head, as you continued to walk away, he still remained close to you when you did.
“i said i’m good. you’re getting weird, so back up,” you repeated, eyes darting around to see if anyone would step in.
instead, everyone was still lost in their own worlds. some people were laughing away, trashing the bar on the other end of the rooftop. the people you were with on the couch were taking shots. nobody was noticing the interaction between you and this man.
when he took a firm grip on your arm, you thought you were about to throw up. you noticed that you hadn’t even been walking straight and when you blinked, he was already in front of you. your words couldn’t find themselves when you saw double everywhere you turned. you were fucked and you couldn’t even defend yourself.
  then, it happened.
when you jumped at the sound of a sudden impact, you thought that you were the one who fell down. but, there was no pain. there was a round of gasps. there was yelling. there was a body on the ground and it was the man’s.
“are you fucking crazy?! don’t you put your dirty ass hands on her ever again or i’ll kill you with my bare hands, asshole!”
the voice belonged to jungkook. it was the first time you’d seen him all night. he was standing over the man’s body, yelling further profanities at him. you saw red - both on his knuckles and in his bloodshot eyes.
you let out a scream when the man suddenly got to his feet, lunging at jungkook. this was when others ran in, straining to peel their two bodies away from each other.
people stopped to watch, but it was almost dystopian to see that some didn’t even care. they continued taking shots and smoking their joints. it was a daze of glimmer and drugs that only existed in the penthouse suite of hotel azure - where the rich and famous didn’t have time for scuffles.
“jungkook, stop!” you screeched, your voice cracking and tears welling up in your eyes.
it took three people to pull jungkook alone, as others also came to the rescue of the other man. jaehyun and yugyeom each clutched onto one of jungkook’s arms, while bambam stood between the two. it looked like they had all chased jungkook from inside the penthouse, who had slammed the sliding door open.
when jungkook picked up a glass beer bottle in his rage, you almost ran in yourself. he’d swatted jaehyun and yugyeom’s grips away to do so. thankfully, it was jimin who dashed in to swipe the object away from jungkook’s grasp, before the situation escalated to disastrous.
if jimin didn’t wrestle the weapon out of jungkook’s hands, it would have been detrimental beyond saving.
“you piece of shit!” snarled the man, who spat in jungkook’s direction. “your little girlfriend should know how much of a piece of shit you are, too!”
at that, you froze. jungkook only narrowed his eyes at him, as if daring him to continue. the next few moments didn’t seem real. his friends took the opportunity to take hold of him again, now with bambam joining in and trying to talk some sense into him.
“kook, calm down. seriously, you need to just - “
jungkook shot back, ignoring bambam. “you better shut your fucking mouth.” through gritted teeth, he kept urging for jaehyun and yugyeom to let go of him, which they thankfully didn’t.
he only chuckled and your heart dropped when he turned to you. “nah, you must already know he’s a piece of shit. you must be cool with that and with the fact that he’s fucking his backup dancer.”
what he said was loud and clear, but you didn’t even register it. you thought you were dreaming. you didn’t know what to do.
betrayal had a funny effect on people and on you, it was seething fury.
if you were sober, it would have been your turn to lunge at someone. you considered it and decided that it wasn’t a bad idea. taking off your heels and making strides towards the man, nobody expected you to clock the man right in the jaw. he yelped, stumbling backwards from the impact. in your state, you only just realized that you’d actually hit him with one of your shoes.
“that was for me, you creep,” you hissed, as he cussed loudly at his now bloody nose.
you even pondered pushing him into the pool, but decided it wasn’t worth it. the adrenaline in your veins - and whatever other substances were in there - wasn’t enough to distract you from the pit in your stomach from what the man said. something in you didn’t even consider the possibility of it being untrue - your gut told you otherwise.
you stared at jungkook, searching for any rebuttal. however, you knew the look on his face. it was the truth. not once did jungkook even try to dispute the accusation. your anger died down now and you were left feeling like you were floating. this couldn’t be real.
it was now jungkook’s turn to stand frozen. you didn’t have time for this or for him. even his friends were frozen and you didn’t know what emotions were on their faces. shocked, but at what? that he was cheating on you or that he just got exposed? reality was beginning to sink in and the only thing you knew was that you needed to get out of there. you thought you looked like the biggest joke in the world, whether his friends knew about it or not.
“what do you think you’re doing? go after her!”
that was jimin’s voice, horrified that his friend was just passively watching you run out of there. jungkook finally made a sprint for it. you’d pushed past several people and jungkook didn’t catch up to you until you reached the elevator.
your vision was waning and the source could have been either the situation or your body finally giving up on you from what you had consumed all night. you needed to sit down. hurriedly, you jammed the button to close the elevator door, but a hand stuck out to force it open.
jungkook was pleading. “y/n, just one second - “
  “no, get away from me.”
“look, let’s talk! please!” he cried, trying to enter the elevator with you.
at this point, you were shoving him away. you didn’t care, you needed him out of your face before you began crying. he wasn’t fighting back at all, letting you continuously push him, but didn’t move an inch.
“you’re scum to me,” you growled, eventually giving up and tripped backwards from your own force.
the elevator closed and for thirteen long floors, it was just you and him in that one space.
“please, let’s communicate - isn’t that what you always wanted for us?” jungkook said and did his best to get you to meet his eyes. “bug, come o -”
the fire in your eyes was nothing like he’d ever seen before from you. “don’t you dare call me that ever again!”
bug was his special name for you, short for lovebug. you used to get upset when he would call you your full name over bug. in that moment, it sickened you to hear it.
everything began clicking in your head. the way he rarely called you when he was on tour. the slow buildup of disinterest in your wellbeing. going to places that he always went to without you. being secretive of what he was doing on his phone. this behaviour multiplied recently and with another world tour for bts lined up, you now knew why.
jungkook was living an entirely different life away from you. you just thought he would never have it in him. not the kind and sweet jungkook you met all those years ago.
you ripped off the tennis bracelet from your wrist, which jungkook had given you for your eighteenth birthday. a look of defeat rested on his face when you hurled it at him, which he didn’t even bother to dodge. he knew he deserved it.
the elevator dinged and you made a beeline for the first door you saw. you weren’t even running, but jungkook dashed to meet you there. you let out a cry of frustration when he stood right in front of you, blocking the entrance.
  “move or you’ll regret it.”
he ignored you and you instead side-stepped away, using all your energy to exit through the next door before jungkook could realize. he tried blocking you again, but only caught a bit of your force because you were too fast.
the entire time this was happening, you’d been trying to dial someone, anyone. none of your group mates were answering. you didn’t have any friends that weren’t at the party upstairs. the last resort was your manager, who you were about to call, when jungkook stood in front of you again.
“y/n, please. i’ll get on my knees if i have to,” jungkook begged and you could see that he was fighting tears. “please, i just want to talk.”
however, you could also see that jungkook was far from sober. he was in a worse state than you were. a bruise was to soon form on his jaw and his hair was disheveled. it was the lowest you’d ever seen him.
for a split second, you tried. you wanted to try and see the boy you fell in love with all those years ago. you searched and searched.
“what? i’ve asked you for years to communicate in this relationship and it only becomes important after you cheat on me?”
jungkook knew he was defeated, but he still looked at you with those same pleading eyes. “i know i don’t deserve you - “
“i don’t even recognize you!” you interrupted. “i don’t even know who you are!”
both of you knew that you were right. something went wrong along the way. you were barefoot and exhausted, no longer with light in your eyes. jungkook was pitiful and lost - lost in his fame, in the parties, and from you.
that night at hotel azure should have been the end. the storybook fairytale should have been over. in that moment, you would have even moved as far as you could and ran away from the dread of the life you were living. you gave up that night.
unfortunately, in the craze of the night’s events and the substances swimming in your bodies, both you and jungkook forgot who and where you were.
TOP HEADLINE TODAY: breaking news! dispatch releases exclusive photos of bts’ jungkook and s.iren’s nova, reveals that they are dating
you’d been in the big hit company building countless of times over the years, but would have never imagined yourself sitting in their board room with their most senior executives. to make matters worse, several high-ranking representatives from your company sat in the same room, including your ceo and your own manager. at the head of the table were you and jungkook, both stone-faced and unable to look at each other.
entering the room, you considered yourself all alone. your manager was pissed off at you. your group mates hadn’t spoken to you since the news broke, except for sooah. she only warned you to make sure that nobody knew you were high when it happened. the last thing the group needed was an additional scandal where their main vocalist gets sentenced to prison for possession. and, of course, you now had no boyfriend. there was nobody there for you.
“they’ve been building evidence for a long time now, clearly.”
to make matters more humiliating, the company executives were broadcasting the dispatch article on the big screen in front of everyone. the head of public relations, mr. lee, swiped through each photo released like a slideshow.
the first picture was you and jungkook outside of your building complex. another was a sneaky shot that barely captured you and jungkook in the same taxi. it went on and on, until the last photo that depicted you and jungkook standing in front of hotel azure, which was less than twenty-four hours ago at this point.
after escaping the party and jungkook, you spent the rest of your night crying and throwing up at home. it was late when you left and you knew you couldn’t sleep a wink after what transpired. you tried your very best and it was seven in the morning when you thought your eyes were finally closing, until your phone began blowing up.
at first, it was just your manager and you didn’t want to hear about how she found out that you were partying late again. then, not even an hour after, your social media began blowing up with notifications.
i was trying to warn you, the last text from your manager read. you realized what she was talking about, as dispatch probably gave the “courtesy” to inform the company before the article went out.
you thought about your group members, feeling nothing but guilt. you saw what happened to other female idols, whose dating scandals tarnished their “sisterhood” with their members forever. you were terrified of that happening to you.
now, you sat in this suffocating board room, still hungover, and your entire future at stake. the only thing you felt regretful about was not just the impact of your choices on both your group members, but the rest of jungkook’s. they were one of the, if not the, most popular groups in the country.
while the room went over the pictures that were released, you were silent. you long understood the consequences of the relationship and accepted the risk. when the scandal actually broke, though, the fear you felt was unlike anything you’ve ever felt before. on the other hand, jungkook was only apologizing profusely and was in tears. you didn’t realize it until then, but there were also streams of tears running down your face.
you weren’t sure what the main reason for your tears were. something told you that you’d yet to process the grief of jungkook’s betrayal because sitting next to him felt numb. last night, only anger settled underneath your skin. now, being inches away from the man you called your best friend and partner for years, you felt nothing. it was almost an out-of-body experience.
the only way to not replay every single moment he was with her and not you, was to repress the grief. you pretended like it was invisible and out of reach. with that, you figured the tears were for the innocent third parties that were going to be dragged down by the scandal - the executives in the room, jungkook’s group, your group, all of them.
“quit crying! we have no choice, there’s too much evidence - we must publicly confirm the relationship.”
you took a deep breath. right now, you had yet to actually tell anyone that you and jungkook were no longer together. a part of you was too embarrassed to admit that you were cheated on. you also figured that word from the scene at the rooftop party likely already spread throughout social circles. you decided to swallow it down and finally say it aloud.
this was the first time that you spoke up. “but,” you started, “jungkook and i. . .we broke up last night.”
the last thing you expected was a round of laughter. you thought you were imagining it, but when you looked up, the board members were indeed doing so. you were suffering enough, but now you were getting laughed at. your fists were balled up underneath the table.
“are you kidding me?” mr. lee said. “i don’t care. years ago, you and jungkook agreed that, should your relationship be exposed, you would face the repercussions of its reception.”
“mr. lee - “ jungkook started, but was hushed by his company executives.
when mr. lee tapped on his laptop again and cut to the comments section of the article, you thought you would see hate comments. death threats, even. but, you were stunned to face waves of positivity.
the tone he used, though, was devoid of any. “oh, i love this couple so much,” mr. lee began reading the comments in a monotone voice that only made the situation feel even more of a joke. “wah. they. are. such. a. beautiful. couple. i’m not even mad.”
you swore your eyes were deceiving you. stealing your first glance at jungkook since walking into the room, he, too, was shocked and his jaw hung low.
“talk about a power couple, congratulations! here, someone said: hope this is true, nova is luckiest girl in the world - love this. then, a bunch of good luck’s, and blah, blah, blah.”
there was a wave of anger when most of the comments called you the lucky one and not once the other way around.
regardless, the reception of international fans was generally uplifting, which was no surprise to you. what really got to you was that it didn’t stop there - the screen scrolled past dozens and dozens of korean comments that exemplified full support towards the relationship. this was a true mark of positive reception, as they were the fans you feared the most.
as the years went on and jungkook rose in popularity, you became increasingly nervous about your relationship. you watched so many of your peers receive horrible backlash from fans after being exposed for dating, especially the women. being a female in the industry was hard enough and you weren’t sure if you were going to be one of the strong ones in this situation.
“so that your fans don’t feel ‘betrayed’, we are going to let the media know that you have been dating for a few months - don’t even think about telling people that you’ve been together since 2013,” mr. lee announced, which snapped you back to the conversation.
you dared to speak again. “mr. lee, jungkook and i have broken up,” you reiterated, wondering if nobody heard you the first time.
he rolled his eyes. “i understand. do you also understand that this reaction is basically unheard of? have you noticed that you’ve gained almost a million followers on instagram?”
this time, it was the public relations representative from big hit that cleared her throat and stood up. she joined mr. lee in front of the board members, who began murmuring in approval amongst themselves.
“jungkook. y/n. as you know, the love yourself world tour was just announced. s.irens is also preparing for a major comeback and potential tour. this relationship,” she said, “will be used to accelerate the successes of both of your groups.”
a chart appeared on the screen. it showed data from the last twenty-four hours, including both group’s increase in social media numbers, streams, and search engine hits.
“consider it an exchange for breaching your no-dating clause five years ago. until further notice, this relationship, at least in the eyes of the public, will remain.”
this had to be a joke. however, you remembered what you and jungkook were. you were idols. you were puppets of the machine that was the korean entertainment industry. chess pieces. no matter how rich or famous either of you got, it all boiled down to this.
the fame game was one that was never won.
jungkook said, slowly, “you’re asking us to date. . .as a publicity stunt?”
at this, you had no choice. a few individuals in the room, including jungkook, jumped when you shot up from your seat. you rose in order to bow at a ninety degree angle in front of all the senior executives, ignoring how sick you were to your stomach.
“please,” you began, eyes squeezed shut. “i want nothing to do with jeon jungkook.”
of course, the decision was already made and your pleas were dismissed. however, you didn’t see the way jungkook watched you beg your company to not force you in a relationship with a man you no longer loved. his mouth went dry and there’d never been such a moment in his life where he hated himself more. he did this. he pushed you to this point and he betrayed you.
from that moment on, jungkook saw this as an opportunity. he destroyed everything that you and he had ever built. now, the only thing he ever sought from this point on, was redemption.
even though your companies informed you two that you could publicly “breakup” following a year post-dispatch release, jeon jungkook never lost sight of the redemption he sought. they wanted you to be the so-called it couple of the industry and he decided he would do them one better and make it real. for the next year, jungkook would do everything in his power to win you back.

Perv!Eddie blurb
~~~
Eddie had his eyes set on his innocent neighbor. She was adorable, cute, and sweet. She wore little sweaters and skirts. Bows in her hair and rode a bike with a basket. Nothing near Eddie's type, but he found himself intrigued by her. He almost felt like he wanted to sink his teeth into her and ruin the sunny filter she saw the world through.
He wondered how much of the real she knew. If she had any idea of the nasty thoughts that ran through Eddie's head when she bent over in her skirt to water her sunflowers. She always waved and smiled at him. Wishing him a good morning before she disappeared back inside. He couldn't tell if she noticed that his hand was always inside of his jeans or not.
He remembered the first time they talked. It was storming out, and Wayne was at work. Eddie was alone in the trailer, lighting candles as the power cut throughout the park. Eddie didn't expect to hear pounding on his door and the sweet sound of Y/N's voice coming through.
He opened the door, and she stood in a white tank top with no bra, completely see-through because of the rain. Tiny pink shorts, her slippers on her feet, and she held a brown bear. The fear in her eyes turned Eddie on in a way he should have felt wrong about.
She sat on his couch, holding a cup of hot chocolate as she flinched at the crack of the thunder. Her eyes stayed on Eddie, almost like if she looked away he'd vanish. If Eddie was a good guy, he'd make her feel better and cover up the goosebumps on her skin. But he wasn't.
He sat next to her, eyes locked on her breasts. Not bothering to offer a blanket or a different shirt to wear. They talked that night about random things. All of Eddie's questions were more sexual. He asked her about her sexual experience, and how far she went with a guy. And just as he thought, she was a virgin. Never even kissed a boy.
"Want me to kiss you?" He asked, he remembered how shy she looked, like a tiny animal staring back at the lion. Eddie wanted to devour her inside and out. Her lips tasted like hot chocolate, but her tongue tasted sweet. She wasn't confident in the kiss, allowing Eddie to take it anywhere he wanted.
After that night, she felt herself catching his eye.
~~~
Eddie almost felt bad for her. She had no idea that Eddie's bedroom window looked right into hers. Her pink curtains didn't block off anything. Eddie could see her white bed, covered in stuffed animals. That same brown bear in her hands. Eddie raced to lock his door, then stood near his window. The angle gave him perfect insight into her room. He watched as she wore a little nightgown, straddling herself on the bear. Tucking the bear underneath her cunt, lifting her gown, giving Eddie the perfect view of her ass as she moved herself on the bear. Eddie was quick to yank down his boxers, spitting in his hand as he played with his cock. He moaned her name under his breath as he watched her.
~~~
Eddie had a small collection of photos he took of her under his bed. Some from his window, and some she posed for. She thought it was for a scrapbook. No idea that his cum covered the photos over and over.
He was laying on his bed, cock in his hand as he looked down at the pictures of her. All the innocent ones with her stuffed animals. He thought he could hear her voice calling through his trailer, but that only brought him closer to an orgasm.
She walked through his bedroom door, covering her eyes as she caught him naked.
"I'm sorry!" she squeaked, keeping her eyes closed as she waited for him to get dressed. She heard him moving, then a hand ripping her hands away from her face.
She thought he'd be dressed but as she looked down, his hard cock was staring back at her. She couldn't take her eyes off of it. She felt herself wanting to feel it in her hands.
"You want to touch it?" He asked, grabbing her hand as he brought it to his cock. Hissing immediately at the softness of her hands.
"Nice and gentle, baby" he instructed, wrapping her hand around his cock for her. He moved her hand as he jerked himself off with her hand.
"What were you doing?" She asked, her innocent eyes looked back at him. He chuckled at her.
"Sweet thing," he cooed, using his free hand to tuck her hair behind her ear. "Cumming to your pictures." He said it was the obvious thing in the world.
"...but why?"
"You are the reason why I'm having these problems, so it'll be you that fixes it."
~~~
Eddie didn't bother to hide that he watched her, sometimes she stared back at him through the window when he touched himself. Her eyes locked on his cock as he came all over his hand.
She snapped out of her trance when he'd shut the curtains with a smirk. It was his game and he made all the moves.

eddie munson x best friend!reader
summary: a previous request I had to write eddie and a weird girl!reader. edited just a tad for better flow.
cw: none
Tumblr media
Eddie watched as you picked up another rock, examining it carefully in your hand before tossing it towards the lake. The two of you had been out here at Lover’s Lake for close to 2 hours now, skipping the rest of the school day after you'd asked him to bring you here during lunch.
The boys laughed at him for how easy it was for you to get him to do anything. But Eddie only gave them the finger as he trailed behind you out of the school. You never asked him for much, so who was he to deny you?
You and Eddie had known each other since he moved to the trailer park to live with Wayne. The two of you fell in and out of friendship over the years as you both went through the motions of life that got you to where you were today.
Sometimes you two were inseparable, and other times you kept to yourself. Choosing to be alone for weeks or months on end until you would knock on his trailer door like you'd just seen him yesterday. Many deemed you weird for your antisocial behaviors, including your own mother. But, Eddie knew you would come back around eventually, and he always welcomed you back with open arms.
With his legs dangling out the back door of his van, he brought a newly lit cigarette in his mouth to chase the joint he had just finished as he watched you do…whatever thing you needed to get out of your system today. He should have known you were going to want to spend the day outside with the overcast that had been looming. You hated the heat from the sun, preferring the shield of the clouds to cover you while you look for different bug or flowers or whatever you deemed worthy to be picked from the ground.
“Oh, Eddie!” Your excited voice had him jolting straight up, greeted by the site of your bright smile before him. “Look! This one’s got a fossil in it!”
Eddie opens his hand for you to place the rock in it. Your discovery stays hidden until you pull your hand away from his. And, sure as shit, there’s a print of some old ass plant or something on the side of the little rock.
“Woah, that's fucking cool,” he says, matching your energy for your find. He hands it back to you and you hold it in both hands, face beaming at your discovery. Eddie likes it when you get like this. The pure, unadulterated bliss that beams from you feels like it could cheer him up on his deathbed.
But after a moment, your expression falters. A crack in the joy of the moment that Eddie clocks right away.
“What?” He asks, looking at you even though he knows you wont give him eye contact back.
“Eddie, why do you hang out with me?”
Eddie reels back. It’s not the first time you’ve dropped heavy questions on him before, but he wasn’t expecting you to hit him with that one.
It was one he wasn't sure how to answer. Mostly because the answer was complicated.
Why was he your friend? Why did he like having you around? Why did it kill him when you distance yourself from him?
Okay, maybe the answer wasn't really that complicated. Rather, admitting it was.
Because the truth is that Eddie is completely head over heels for you.
Ever since he’s known you he knew you were it for him. You never thought that he was a freak for having a dead mom and a jail bird dad. Never judged him for being poor even for trailer park standards. Certainly never made any remarks about his music tastes.
He hadn't always been subtle about his feelings, telling you when you were younger that he would marry you someday. He still gets a kick when he thinks about the way your nose scrunched up at the suggestion.
He would pester you any chance he could, and Wayne had to tell him to not be so forward or else he was going to scare you off. Little did Wayne know that it would take a hell of a lot more than Eddie’s strong personally to push you away. He eventually realized how well you could meet Eddie’s energy, calling the two of you a match made for trouble.
Because Eddie loves when you would barge into his room without knocking to show him a painting you’ve finished. Or when you would tap on his window at 3 am because you couldn’t sleep, knowing he was probably still awake too.
He loved when you would join the Hellfire Club at lunch, telling Grant to move so you could sit next to Eddie’s spot at the end of the table. He loved that you wanted to be around him, and he wanted to be around you just as much.
“Because we’re friends,” he says casually. Your eyes lift to meet his. He can’t tell you how he feels. He can’t risk giving you a reason to run away from him. “It’s been like, what, 10 years now since we started hanging out? Why do you want to know now?”
Your eyes shift down, avoiding eye contact with him once again. You must be worried about something he thinks. He wishes he could read minds just to see what you’re thinking.
“I was just wondering," you say in a tone that tells Eddie you were not just wondering. "Don’t want you to think you’re obligated to hang out with me or anything.”
“What?” He shakes his head incredulously, laughing at the absurdity of your assumption. “I don’t feel obligated. I like hanging out with you. Promise.”
He sticks his pinky out for you to twist with yours, something you’ve been doing since he pinky-promised to be your friend when the other kids said you were too weird.
But you don’t accept it, crossing your arms over your chest and curling in on yourself. Your boot shifts as you nervously roll a rock under your heel. It’s quiet for a moment, and Eddie drops his hand slowly, not liking the way the air is shifting around the two of you.
Something feels off. Final.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea for us to hang out anymore, Eddie,” you say matter of factually.
Forced. He can tell you’re putting on a front, like the one you put on for your mom. He wonders if she’s got something to do with this.
Eddie’s throat feels dry, breathing in through his nose to keep himself together.
“I don’t know why you would think that. Did I do something—”
“No,” you cut him off, looking at him in the eyes for a few seconds before averting your gaze again. “It’s not you Eddie. I just…”
Eddie stares at you with his big brown eyes hoping you’ll give him something, anything to try and fix whatever has you feeling this way.
“Don’t you want a girlfriend?”
Well that was the last thing he expected you to say.
“I’m sorry, what?” He blinks up at you, confused at where this conversation is going. You take a sharp breath through your nose, and huff, brows pinching as you become visibly upset.
“Well you and Jeff and Gareth were talking about how hot the cheerleaders uniforms are, and — and you said that if you had a chance you’d like to see what's under their skirts—“
“Okay, hold on, I didn’t say that,” he says defensively, but you give him a look that makes him back track. “Or, even if I did, I only said it because it was Gareth and Jeff. I didn’t really mean it.”
“I’m not mad that you said it, Eddie. I just," you breath in, a slight hitch in your throat as you do. "…I hear what those girls say about me…about us and…I just feel like…I—I,” you sniffle, “I don’t want to be the reason you can’t get a girlfriend.”
Eddie tries so, so hard not to laugh. Like, he’s really trying to hold it in because you’re clearly very upset. But he can’t suppress wide grin that slowly creeps across his face.
“Sweetheart,” he finally says, “You don’t really think that do you?”
Your only response is a silent nod and Eddie’s heart only grows more for you.
“Trust me, you’re not why I don’t have a girlfriend,” he says with a tone of self-deprecation. It’s not the full truth, because technically you are the reason, just not in the way you think. “Those cheerleaders wouldn’t want me whether you’re around me or not. And it’s not like there’s a line of girls dying to date me or whatever.”
He twists his rings around his fingers, waiting for your response. When he looks up, you’re looking at him like he’s got three heads.
“What?” He laughs.
“Are you joking?” You ask him very seriously.
“Joking about what…?”
“That you don’t have girls trying to, you know, get with you…”
“Oh, no, definitely not.”
A smile finally cracks on your face at his words, and an immediate relief washes over him. The tension in your body visibly washes away and you take a step closer to him.
“Okay,” you say with a soft smile.
“Can I ask why you’re so worried about me getting a girlfriend anyway?”
“Well, my mom said—“
He raises his hand, stopping you mid sentence, “That’s all I needed to hear.”
It warms his heart when you laugh, melting all the worries away. Though, he still can’t help feeling like he could lose you forever at any given moment. It would gut him if you really did decide that he couldn’t be in your life anymore. He already gets sick at the thought of you meeting someone else, someone other than him, and moving on to leave him in the dust.
“Why do you hang out with me?”
He likes the way your eyebrows shoot up when he turns your question back on you. He thinks that he’s got you just as flustered as you had him, but you look at him with a shake of the head as you speak very matter of factly.
“Because I love you.”
Eddie has to catch himself before he can get too excited. This is you that he’s dealing with here. And you could mean that in so many ways; as a friend, a brother, a lover.  And, god, did he hope you mean the ladder.
“Love me how?” He asks carefully, trying his best not to sound to excited.
“Like…well, sometimes, when you do stuff that’s, like, really cute or makes me happy, I just want to—“ You bring your hands to his face, something you’ve done many times over the years when he’s going on about D&D or music or even just when he’s reading. He always assumed it was your way of expressing that he was being a bother or overstimulating you, so he would usually stop or change the subject. “—just grab you and kiss you.”
Eddie knows his face has to be as red as a tomato. His heart is going a million miles a minute and he can barely keep his breathing steady.
Holy shit is this happening?
“You want to kiss me?”
You nod, “Yeah, like, a lot.”
“Why haven’t you?”
Your eyes practically bug out of your head, dumbstruck at his words.
“I can do that?”
“Please?” It comes out breathy, meant to be a joke, but almost as a beg.
And so you do. Your soft, mint chapstick covered lips hastily meet his, head tilted ever so slightly so your noses don’t bump as if you’ve done this before. Have you done this before? Certainly not with him. It makes his blood boil thinking that someone other than him has ever gotten a chance to do this with you.
The feeling of your fingers gliding across his scalp, nails skimming in a way that sends goosebumps down his arms. He takes the opportunity to bring his own hands to your hips, pulling you closer to him to deepen the kiss.
When you finally pull away, Eddie leans in to chase after you. And when he finally opens his eyes, he feels sick—lovesick at the sight of your pleased smile. The way you’re looking at him with a sparkle in your eye makes him feel like he could do anything.
“Wow,” you say between the two of you.
“Likewise,” he says with an airy chuckle.
“Can I do it again?” You ask shyly.
“Sweetheart, you can kiss me whenever you want,” he says dreamily.
“Really?”
He hums in response, cut off with a hmph as your lips meet his again.
And again.
And again.
And again.

Part One Five
“Robs!” Steve shouts through the apartment, toeing his shoes off at the door.
“Kitchen!”
Steve heads through, and he can’t help but notice something looks kind of off. It looks different in here but he can’t quite put his finger on it, “Robs, did you do something to your apartment?”
“Yeah, I cleaned it.”
“Oooh. Yeah,” Steve looks back through the kitchen doorway, “yeah, that’s what’s different.”
“What are you doing here?”
“Nice to see you too, bitch.”
“Fuckface.”
Steve frowns, there’s a cookbook propped open and actual like, fresh ingredients on the chopping board, “what are you doing?”
“Is that a rhetorical question because-”
“Robs, I have literally never seen you cook anything more complicated than eggs and toaster waffles, what is this,” Steve goes over to be nosy, “chicken satay skewers and bang bang cauliflower- what the actual fuck. I didn’t even know you knew what recipe books were.”
“Fuck off. And it’s for Chrissy, she said it’s her favorite-”
“Oh my god. I’m dead. I’m dead aren’t I. I got into a crash on the way-”
“Steve.”
“Alternate dimension-”
“Jesus Christ-”
“Abducted by aliens?”
“Steve, I can cook a nice meal for my girlfriend, alright, it’s not, like, illegal-”
“Your what?!”
She stops and actually turns to look at him, she’s wearing her absolute dead serious face, “Steve. I like her. A lot.”
“So now you’re what, fucking pregnant and barefoot in the kitchen-”
“Steve! Look. She’s clever. She’s funny. She’s kind. She calls me out on my bullshit and she is extremely hot doing it. She plays volleyball Steve. Volleyball. Have you ever seen girls play volleyball? Not only is it insanely aggressive but the shorts are so tiny they’re on the verge of disappearing up her crack and it’s socially acceptable for me to go out and watch that Steve.”
“Yeah but- you don’t have to like, date her to get all of that-”
“I do. I do Steve. Because I want to. We can’t just do,” she gestures vaguely, “this for our entire lives.”
“But whyyyyy?” Steve whines.
“Because we have to grow up at some point.”
“Yeah but...now?” Steve knows he’s pouting.
“Good a time as any, anyway, aren’t you literally about to go to dinner at Eddie’s uncles place? Literally the only notable family member that he has? His only parental figure and therefore the most important person in his life-”
“You can stop now.”
“I’m just saying that sounds kind of serious-”
“I will throw myself off the roof to get out of this dinner. Don’t test me.”
Robin completely ignores him, “I’ve seen how Eddie looks at you,” Steve scoffs, rolling his eyes, “Steve, that boy looks at you like he’d crawl a mile over broken glass to sniff your farts. Could you just like, appreciate that about him for thirty god damn seconds.”
Steve has a range of acceptable beer. He has picked up a six pack of something from uncomfortably near the bottom of that range. He takes a deep breath as he grabs it off the passenger seat.
Steve’s pretty sure he’s never been inside a trailer once in his damned life, and he has absolutely no idea what to expect. From the outside it looks...cramped. Steve’s certain his entire bedroom is bigger than this whole place.
Steve prepares himself to be polite about whatever he’s about to walk into.
Eddie fucking lights up when he opens the door, it makes Steve skin itchy while simultaneously something flaps about in his stomach, “oh wow, you bought the good beer!” Eddie looks thrilled as he takes it to put in the fridge.
Which he makes it to in about four steps because the kitchen is like, right there. And Steve’s taken one step in through the door and he’s already in the middle of the lounge, which is, efficient, he guesses.
“Here, come sit at the table, Wayne’s about done with dinner.”
“Errr...thanks.” Eddie indicates a place at a cramped little built in breakfast nook type thing, and Steve slides in just as Wayne appears from down the hall.
It was fucking awkward getting in, it’s even more awkward getting straight back out again so he can shake Wayne’s hand, “good to see you again Sir.”
Steve gets a firm handshake, and then not two minutes later he’s eating the first bite of what might be the best thing he’s ever put in his mouth. Wayne Muson makes a pot roast that should win a Michelin Star. Who could have fucking predicted that.

Talk Me Down
steddie | 1,7k words | angst | mature
CW: drug use, explicit violence
Written for @steddieangstyaugust Day 10
Prompt: "Where were you?"
Read Part 1
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It's not like Steve had become a regular or anything, but Eddie was seeing more of him than Wayne lately. Which was... weird.
Surprisingly enough, Steve wasn't the complete asshole Eddie expected him to be. Or he was, but he wasn't pointing his assholesness towards Eddie anymore.
Eddie preferred to pretend it didn't affect him, but he found himself excited to see Steve. Definitely not like a puppy.
But it was hard to control his facial muscles when Steve came into view. His mouth curled in the softest way possible as soon as their eyes met and Eddie felt it in a way that made him think he wasn't dead inside, after all.
Steve usually bought weed and he usually hung back, looking at Eddie as if asking for permission to roll a joint so they could smoke together. Eddie should say no, something about not shitting where you eat or whatever, but it was hard to ignore the way Steve's eyes shined.
They shined like someone who was so fucking lonely that being friends with a drug dealer beat any other options.
Eddie knew Steve just wanted the weed. He kept showing up with different bruises on his arm that made Eddie's inside fill up with anger, and he knew the bliss of the weed helped, so no reason for him to keep his hopes up. It was not like King Steve actually wanted to hang out with him.
Still. Eddie let himself get carried away, and that was his mistake. He usually was someone who kept his guard up for a reason. He knew he was useful because of the drugs, but he wasn't delusional enough to think he was irreplaceable for a shitty town like Hawkins.
If Eddie were to disappear, he had no doubts a different fucked up boy would take his place in no time. Selling whatever drug to the entitled rich kids.
He's about to go home. The sun is starting to go down and Eddie has enough self preservation to know nothing good happens in these woods after dark.
It's eerily quiet as he closes his lunch box, the metallic sounds of it echoing and making birds fly out. He has his back to the walkway and that's why he hears it before he sees it. Footsteps. The crunching of leaves.
Steve doesn't usually come this late in the day, but maybe this is a sign. Eddie's been wanting to invite him over to the trailer. They've been talking about Star Wars, out of all things, and Steve said he was curious to watch and Eddie thinks maybe this is it.
Today is the day he's inviting Steve over to watch Star Wars and smoke some weed.
He knows it's a bad idea because his heart doesn't understand 'platonic' that easily. And he knows it's a bad idea because his trailer is shitty and Steve is used to fucking golden cutlery or whatever.
But maybe with enough weed Eddie will get away with his too small couch that will force them to sit too close. Maybe with enough weed Eddie will get away with leaning into Steve's space to smell his cologne whenever something funny happens in the movie.
"You're late," Eddie says, his hand going to his pocket to get a joint. He usually leaves one pre-rolled, just in case Steve shows up.
He takes his time, too. Puts it to his lips and light it, taking a long drag. Eddie hasn't smoked today and he can already feel it relaxing every muscle in his body.
He pockets the lighter and runs a hand through his hair before picking up his lunchbox and turning to Steve. He's determined to give him a hard time just to be a bitch, pretending that he has somewhere to be.
"It's rude to-" Eddie's words get caught in his throat as he looks at someone who's definitely not Steve. His mood sours instantly as he looks at... Paul? Peter?
The guy doesn't say anything, he just keeps looking at Eddie with this intense expression. It's annoying and Eddie doesn't have time for that.
"Store is closed, man," Eddie says, taking a drag and shrugging, stepping forward.
Paul/Peter grunts something and now that Eddie's looking at him he can definitely tell something's off.
"Sorry. I'll be back Monday," Eddie says and keeps walking, stepping to the side so he doesn't bump into the guy.
What happens next is so fast it leaves Eddie dizzy. Paul/Peter rips the joint from between Eddie's lips and throws it in the ground.
Eddie complains with a hey that's punched out of him as the guy pins him against the nearby tree, arm pressed on his neck, preventing him from moving.
"Shut the fuck up," Paul/Peter says and this close Eddie can see his pupils are blown out. "I need more."
This is not Eddie's first run in with some junky dickhead. But usually Eddie's guard is up because he just knows the kind of asshole he deals with. And his first rule is to never get himself into a situation like this because of two things.
One, Eddie can't throw a punch to save his life. His fight or flight instinct usually is just flight.
And two, he can't shut the fuck up when his nervous.
"Should've thought of that before sniffing my entire stash, don't you think?" Eddie says and he feels Paul/Peter growling and pushing his neck hard enough that he can't breathe anymore, let alone speak.
"Shut up. I'll take it if I have to," the guy says and Eddie has no doubts so he drops the lunch box and hears the quiet thud it makes once it hits the ground.
Paul/Peter lets him go as he drops to his knees and Eddie coughs as he massages his neck, stepping to the side so he can leave. There isn't much left on the lunchbox and he's fairly certain the guy will leave it behind after he figures that out so Eddie can just get it back tomorrow.
Eddie's plan is to leave but as he takes another step he feels a hand wrapping on his ankle and pulling him down. He falls face first on the dirt, scratching his arm on a pointy rock and he feels pressure on his ribs.
Paul/Peter has a foot on top of him and the motherfucker presses it hard. It hurts more than the sting on his arm.
"You think you're funny, don't you? I should fuck you up so you'll learn to keep that mouth shut." He says and Eddie closes his eyes.
He should have better instincts and he knows he doesn't. Paul/Peter presses on and Eddie swears he can hear a cracking sound as pain floods through him. He yells and maybe he's losing his mind but it sounds like the guy is fucking laughing.
"Fuck you," the guy spits out and as he takes his foot out Eddie instinctively curls in a ball, trying to protect himself, even if that makes the pain more sharp. There's another long laugh before he murmurs "pathetic" right before he leaves.
Eddie stays down. Doesn't feel like he has enough strength to get up and is afraid the guy's still nearby, waiting to give him more.
His entire body feels on fire and he groans in pain as he rolls belly up, throwing his arm on top of his eyes.
Fucking hell. The light is going away quickly now and Eddie knows he needs to get up and leave but he doesn't know if he can. There's a metallic taste on his mouth and he figured he must've bitten his tongue when he fell.
His arm is pulsing, sticky from the blood and breathing feels like a thousand pins and needles going through his lungs.
Is he going to die?
He closes his eyes. Wayne is going to be so mad if he dies like this, before graduating.
The next breath makes him feel like he's breathing fire. It fucking hurts so much. He groans again, opens his eyes for a second and it's pure dark now.
Fuck. If he doesn't die from the broken rib, he's sure a wild animal will eat him. He should get up, but as he tries to move, a scream gets ripped out of his chest and he feels like his entire body is about to collapse.
He's going to stay still for just a minute. And then he's going to get up. No mountain dog will taste his insides today.
When Eddie opens his eyes again, the moon is high in the sky and the dark doesn't feel as dark anymore, but his body feels broken. His throat is dry, and he tries to cough but realizes how much it hurts, so he forces himself to stop.
Then he hears it. Footsteps. He knows Peter/Paul doesn't feel remorse, so maybe he came to finish the job.
Maybe it is better than getting eaten alive.
Eddie closes his eyes, groans as he tries to move and feels more than sees someone towering over him.
"Fuck," he hears and maybe he's dead already because it sounds like Steve. "Eddie. Fucking hell. What happened?"
Eddie grunts as he feels Steve kneeling beside him. He had pictured Steve on his knees for him, but he had hoped for less blood.
"Shit. Shit. I knew something was wrong. I felt it in my gut," Steve says as Eddie feels hands moving under him. He's about to complain when Steve fucking lifts him off the ground.
Eddie lets out a scream and then Steve is there, pulling him up and shushing him.
"I know. I know it hurts, but I'm gonna make it better. Just hang on," Steve says, his breath is close to Eddie's face and Eddie groans, letting his head fall to the side until it hits Steve's shoulder.
Steve smells good. Like clean soap and his cologne. Eddie must smell like shit and he must be getting blood all over Steve's clothes.
"Where were you?" Eddie asks. Or he thinks he asks, but he might be delusional. They are moving and Steve is carrying him with little effort.
"Doesn't matter," Steve says. "But I'm here now. And I'm going to take care of you, ok?"

Steddie Drabble, TW: child abuse.
Initially, Wayne doesn’t care for Steve. Calls him “the Harrington boy” or “Richard’s son” with contempt, asks if “Richard’s son” is coming over for dinner again and Eddie just rolls his eyes and says “yes, Wayne, STEVE is coming over at 7.” Wayne doesn’t like him because…well, he’s not stupid to judge a book by its cover, he thinks.
But the fifth time Harrington comes over, he brings a bouquet of flowers, and Eddie, well, his cheeks are redder than the spaghetti sauce Wayne’s been stirring, so that’s something.
And then the sixth time Steve comes over, he brings Wayne a Garfield magnet. It’s small, “found it at the thrifty mart with Robin, I’m sorry it’s not brand new…” Steve mumbles, and Eddie is wide eyed and smiling, and Wayne LOVES Garfield. He puts it on the fridge, pats Steve on the back, says “um, thank you son.”
They fall into a pattern, the three of them. Steve comes over for dinner every Friday night after work. He dresses clean and is polite to Wayne, helps with the dishes, sometimes brings bread rolls or licorice or beer or jokes. Eddie starts setting the table. Wayne starts laughing at the jokes. After Steve leaves, Wayne knows Eddie smiles himself to sleep. It’s different, now.
And then the next time Steve is supposed to come over for dinner, he doesn’t show. Eddie had been making macaroni and cheese all evening, grating the cheese carefully as he bopped his head to some metal song, cheerful, and then it was 7 and then it was 8 and then Wayne thought “maybe call him, Ed.”
Nobody answers. When they call again, nobody answers. And Wayne has a bad feeling about it.
It isn’t until almost 11, dinner cold and Eddie pacing, about to radio someone named Robin when Steve’s car pulls up, they know the lights so well. They run outside to greet him and Eddie freezes when Steve starts falling out of the drivers seat, face dark and pained. Wayne jumps into action. Wayne catches Steve and hauls him into the trailer, his living room, and oh god, he’s covered in bruises like he was put through Eddie’s cheese grater, and oh god, Eddie’s broken out into tears behind him.
Steve’s left eye is swollen shut, and his face is purple and bloody. His lip is split and his hair is wild, his shirt is torn, and Wayne wonders what’s underneath the shirt as he gets the first aid kit, wonders how the hell he thought Steven was anything other than an angel.
Eddie gets a dish towel wet in the kitchen and cleans Steve’s face, quiet and crying, and Wayne sets the first aid kit down next to Eddie and makes some coffee. He thinks about talking, doesn’t. Touches the Garfield magnet for good luck. He feels like maybe Steve needs it.
Steve who is holding Eddie’s wrist as he cleans him up, wincing and crying from his good eye. Finally, after a silence that gives Wayne heartburn, Eddie sits back on his heels and says whisper quiet, “your dad?”
Steve gulps, blinks. “My uh, my dad. I was writing you uh, uh a love note.” Eddie looks over at Wayne. Wayne wipes his brow. “But uh, he found it, and your name’s not uh, Edith” Steve lets out a chuff, winces again. “So he asked what was going on, and I told him. I told him. And then he said I had one minute to take it back or he’d make me take it back.” Eddie lets out a small gasp, more like a howl, and sits completely on the floor. Wayne sits down at the table, cold mac and cheese looking like a sick joke. And he’s so mad. Wayne is so, so mad, seeing this young man who so obviously loves his pride and joy, shares in his pride and joy, who brings him apples to make apple pie, he growls out
“Don’t you worry about a thing, Steven, not one thing. You stay here long as you like, hell, don’t leave. We got you, boy.”
And that’s that. Steve crumples in on himself, and Eddie pulls him into a big hug, just holds him, rocks him, coos “a love note, huh, sweetheart? For me?” And Steve nods until he nods off.
The next morning, while Robin takes care of Steve, Wayne and Eddie break into Steve’s room, clear out everything he owns, and slash his dad’s tires. That was Wayne’s idea - the least he could do for a loved one.

24 I have a date
written for @steddieangstyaugust (prompt:"Go, see if I care." ) and @augustwritingchallenge (Prompt: Pretended Hate ) @aug-kissed (prompt: Hickeys)  Rating: Teen and up Relationship: Steve/Eddie TW: no one Words: 1228
Tumblr media
“Come on, Steve! Eddie is a friend! He’s the Dungeon Master of the Hellfire Club! You have to come with us and meet him!” Dustin is begging him, while Steve brushes his hair, getting ready for his date.
“Yeah. I heard you say that the first fifteen times. Eddie’s your super cool friend. Way cooler than me.”
“It’s not that! It’s just… we don’t see each other anymore, and if you started to hang out with us maybe…”
“Dustin, kid, look at me. Do I look like the kind of person who can have fun during one of your boring games? And I know Eddie, I attended the same school you attended, did you forget it? And I can tell you that there aren’t two people more different than Eddie and I.”
“Come on! I swear that he’s fun! And he knows a lot of things! And…”
“Things like what? How to sell drugs to high schoolers? Wait! You aren’t taking any of that shit, are you, Dustin?” Steve asks seriously, his arms on Dustin’s shoulder looking at him in the eyes.
“No, I’m not. Fuck, Steve, you sound like my mother! I’m just having fun with my friends!”
Steve lifts an eyebrow, studying him, then he shrugs, “You’re right. You’re too much of a nerd to use those things. But don’t let Eddie or anyone else convince you to smoke with them, ok?”
“But you used to smoke.” Dustin grins, remembering the drugged confession Steve made in a Russian elevator the year before.
“Yeah. Then I got beaten and drugged by Russian soldiers so no, I don’t smoke joints anymore and I don’t want you to smoke either. It’s bad for your brain.” he tells him while ruffling Dustin’s hair, before looking at the time, “Come on. It’s getting late and I have a long shift and a date tonight.”
“Heidi?”
“No.”
“Susan?”
“No.”
“Jennifer?”
“Oh come on! You’re making me look like a fucking monster. I don’t date that much!”
“Oh yeah, because you date them only for one night and then completely forget about every single one of them but you don’t want to spend one night, one night Steve, with me and my friends.”
“I already told you, Dustin, I have a date,” Steve explains tiredly to Dustin who glares at him furiously.
“Well if your dates are more important than me then just go! Go and see if I care!" Dustin yells, bolting out of Steve’s house, and slamming the door loudly behind himself.
“Dustin! Dustin!” Steve calls, opening the door, but the kid is already biking away through the woods to get to the trailer park.”
“Fuck.” he curses under his breath, staring at the boy that disappears behind some trees.
He wonders if he should follow him but the clock radio tells him that’s already too late and he still has to pick up Robin, so he grabs his dark green vests and gets into his car, driving toward Robin’s house first and then Family Video.
“What’s the long face?” Robin asks as soon as she sits in his car.
“I think I had a fight with Dustin.”
“You think you did or did you actually have a fight?”
“He asked him to join them for one of their game nights and I said no. And he was so pissed he rushed out of my house without even saying goodbye.”
“That’s normal Dustin’s behavior. Don’t think too much about it. I’m sure in a day or two everything will be back to normal.” She replies, smiling, fixing her makeup in the little car mirror.
Steve nods, she’s right, “Maybe I could pick him up before my date, just to talk.”
“That’s a great idea. Who’s the date by the way? I forgot. Jennifer?”
Steve ignores her, “I’m not going to say anything to you. You lost your gossip privileges when you mocked me for taking Heidi to the Championship game!” Steve replies, parking in front of the video store.
It’s a Thursday, so in the afternoon it’s quite calm and they spend almost all their time rewinding the VHS and throwing candies at each other.
Once their shift is finally over, Steve asks Robin if she minds if they make a stop at the trailer park to pick up Dustin and she replies she doesn’t mind if she can keep her shotgun privileges.
The trailer is old and rusty, and Steve’s BMW wheels grind on the gravel loudly.
“The King has come to see his subjects.” Munson grins, smoking a cigarette.
“I’m here to pick up Dustin, is he ready to go?”
“As ready as someone who lost all his friends can be.”
“He what?” Steve asks worriedly.
“Calm down, Harrington, I’m talking about the game,” Eddie replies, smirking, while Dustin leaves the trailer sadder than he was when he first got there.
“You're the devil himself.” Dustin whines, “How could you do that to us.”
“It’s not me, young padawan, it’s just fate.” Eddie winks while Steve manages to fit Dustin’s bike in his trunk somehow and drives him back home.
“Did you have fun?”
“Does it look like I had fun?” Dustin retorts, crossing his arm in front of his chest.
“Today isn’t a great day. Got it. Why don’t we go have smoothies tomorrow afternoon?” Steve proposes but Dustin doesn’t even reply.
All he says is “Thanks for the ride,” before shutting the door behind him.
“Kids.” Robin replies when Steve drives her home, “Have fun with your mysterious date!” she waves before going home.
Back at Steve’s place, everything seems normal, apart from his room’s window which looks suspiciously ajar, even if Steve knows he left it closed.
He steps quietly to his room, slamming the door open to catch the intruder by surprise, only to find Eddie half-naked on his bed.
“About time, big boy!” he complains, getting closer to him and pushing him against the wall before kissing him hard.
“Fuck you, Eddie! You scared me!”
“Sorry babe, but I know a great way to ask for forgiveness. Why don’t you lose some of those clothes?” Eddie suggests, kissing Steve more sweetly this time.
“Dustin is still pissed at me. For how long do we have to keep up all this pantomime?”
“Are you ready to come out to a group of teenagers who can’t shut the fuck up?”
Steve sighs, Eddie is right as always.
“But when Robin and I move to Chicago you’ll come with us, right?” Steve asks while Eddie leaves hickeys and love bites on his golden skin, humming content.
“Robin knows about it?”
“Not yet. But she’s my platonic soulmate, she would never say no to me.”
Eddie grins, amused, “She’s way tougher than you think, but yeah, if I manage to graduate this year I promise I’ll try to move to Chicago with you. I think Jeff is moving there too. Could find an apartment with him, close to yours, and get in your room by the window. But for the moment my plan is to write ‘I’m sorry’ on your skin with my teeth. Any thoughts?” He asks, latching on Steve’s neck like a vampire and leaving a huge purple hickey.
Steve feels a familiar warmth in his stomach while Eddie unbutton his jeans and opens the fly.
After all, being in a secret relationship isn’t that bad.

Nother idea: Wayne & Eddie coming home from a long ass day, tired & stressed, both of them arriving at their trailer at the same time. Both of them taking a deep breath knowing that they'll have to clean up & prepare dinner but both are exhausted. But when they come in their trailer is sparkling clean. The floors swept & mopped, dirty clothes put into the wash, clean clothes folded neatly on the couch in piles for both Eddie and Wayne. Their trailer smells clean & fresh, they turn towards the kitchen & see Steve humming quietly to himself along with the radio on low as he pulls fresh made supper from the oven, on the counters are baked goods cooling. Wayne & Eddie realizing that Steve not only cleaned up their home but he prepared them easy to reheat meals, cleaned up their space bc he knew they'd be exhausted & both of them like the trailer to be clean, but neither had time. So he did it because they are his family & he loves them & wants them to feel safe and cared for in their new home.
MY LOVE! So I kinda ran with a somewhat different background plot, just because it kind of felt like I needed to show that Steve ain't slackin'. I also moved this one ahead of another request because I needed to write Wayne in a sappy way after chapter 2 of demon Steve. Steve was born to be a housewife with guidance counselor tendencies and I don't make the rules. ENJOY! - Mickala ❤️
-------------------------------------------------------
Eddie felt the exhaustion fully hit him as soon as he put his van in park.
He’d been working more overtime over the last month to save up for the down payment on the house he and Steve fell in love with.
The government money helped, but it mostly went to medical bills and a new van when his old one had become government property.
Wayne told him to keep as much of it saved as he could. “You never know what life will throw at ya,” he’d said.
Steve had been working a lot too, but was focusing on his classes at the community college, trying to set up a better future for both of them.
It meant that Eddie was pulling a lot of the financial weight right now, that Wayne was doing as much as he could for them so they could actually save up, but it would all be worth it.
Wayne knocked on his window and he blinked his eyes open again.
When had he even closed them?
Eddie opened the door and stepped out, groaning at the ache in his knee. It still wasn’t 100%, probably never would be as long as he was doing physical labor, and today had been particularly rough at the shop.
“Alright, bud?” Wayne asked him, hand on his shoulder.
“Yeah. Just tired,” Eddie replied.
“You and me both. Let’s go relax a bit.”
But relaxing wouldn’t be on the table until they fixed dinner and cleaned up a bit and Eddie knew the faucet had been leaking when he left this morning and they didn’t need a leak like that running up the water bill, so he should probably try to fix it before bed.
He let Wayne go in first, as always, knowing he’d take longer going up the porch steps.
He could handle walking just fine most of the time, but stairs were a bitch.
He nearly walked right into Wayne when he walked through the front door, the older man standing stock still right in the entrance.
“Wayne? You good?” Eddie asked, his mind suddenly filtering through any number of terrible reasons for his sudden frozen demeanor.
And then he could smell it.
Cookies.
Someone was baking cookies.
And then he saw it.
The living room was completely cleaned and organized, magazines stacked neatly on the table, no crumbs on the couch or carpet, the weird mud stain from Eddie’s boots no longer on the rug by the front door.
He heard the record player going, though the volume was low enough that he could also hear Steve singing in the kitchen.
“Looks like your boy’s been busy,” Wayne smirked over his shoulder at him.
“I don’t-“ Eddie started to say.
“Eds? Wayne? You guys home?” Steve called from the kitchen.
Before they answered, he walked around the corner with an apron on, his glasses perched on his nose, and a beaming smile on his face.
“I just put the lasagna back in the oven to heat up a bit for you. Had to wait for the cookies to come out,” Steve said as he walked towards them.
He wrapped his arms around Eddie’s neck and kissed him on the lips quickly, then pulled away to give Wayne a quick side hug.
“I made some lemonade that should be nice and cold by now. You want some?”
Eddie and Wayne blinked at him, surprise at what was happening rendering them speechless.
“Is everything okay?” Steve’s tone shifted to concern, the smile dropping from his face as he took in their stillness.
“You cleaned?” Wayne asked.
“And cooked?” Eddie asked.
“And baked?” Wayne added.
“My afternoon class was canceled and Keith said he wouldn’t approve overtime for me, so. I came home?” Steve still looked concerned, like he was waiting for one or both of them to start yelling at him.
“Where’s your car?” Wayne asked.
That was a great question. Eddie just realized it wasn’t in the yard, which was half the reason he’d been shocked to see Steve here at all.
“Oh! Max needed to go to therapy. I was already in the middle of baking so I told her she could just use it as long as she was back by eight.”
“So you’ve been cleaning and baking and cooking all afternoon? For us?” Eddie asked, biting back as much emotion as he could.
He was tired and overwhelmed with love and he knew he would start crying if he didn’t contain some of it.
“I just wanted to take care of you guys and take care of our house. You worked all day and I had some free time to do it,” Steve shrugged.
Wayne collected himself first, moving toward Steve and squeezing his shoulder.
“Thanks, son. You don’t know how much I appreciate ya doin’ all this,” he said, voice slightly choked up.
“It’s no problem, Wayne,” Steve replied, face red.
“Mind if I go grab a shower first?” he asked Eddie.
“Fine with me,” Eddie responded.
Wayne nodded once, smiling at them both, and walked to his room to grab clothes for after his shower.
Steve looked up at Eddie shyly.
“Lasagna will be about 20 more minutes if you wanna grab a drink,” he said quietly.
Eddie smirked.
“Some of that lemonade sounds nice,” he played along, knowing exactly where this was going.
No matter how tired or sore he was, he wouldn’t turn down the chance to get his hands on Steve or have Steve’s hands on him.
Steve led him into the kitchen by his hand, tugging him along as he excitedly explained that he’d found the lemons at a farm stand on his way home from work yesterday and considered using them for a cheesecake, but decided this would be better.
Eddie smiled at him fondly, just happy that Steve is happy.
“I’ll get you a glass, just wait right there,” Steve said, pushing him against the counter gently.
But Eddie didn’t let him pull away yet, fisted his shirt and pulled him against his front.
“Eds!” Steve yelped as they made contact.
“I’m sure the lemonade is perfect, but I want a taste of you first, sugar,” Eddie mumbled, leaning down to press his lips against Steve’s.
Steve melted against him, letting Eddie’s tongue past his lips and letting out a low moan when Eddie’s hands squeezed his ass.
“What’re you doing?” he whispered against Eddie’s lips.
“Touching you,” Eddie answered before kissing the corner of his mouth, his cheek, his jaw.
“Wayne though.”
“He’s already in the shower. We got a few minutes.”
“We can’t do much in a few minutes,” Steve said, trying to stifle another moan as Eddie’s fingers untied his apron and slid to the front of his jeans to undo his button.
“You underestimate how hot it is to see you like a little housewife, sweetheart,” Eddie chuckled.
Steve slapped his arm.
“Not a housewife.”
“No? You sure seemed happy about cleaning up and cooking for me,” Eddie said as he slid his hands into the waistband of Steve’s boxers.
“Eds,” he gasped, but didn’t stop him as he wrapped his hand around his half-hard cock.
“Get me out, Stevie. Don’t have much time,” Eddie groaned.
Steve did as he was asked, but still seemed hesitant.
Eddie paused.
“You wanna call it?” he asked.
If Steve truly didn’t want to, he knew what to say to stop, and he knew Eddie would stop, no questions asked.
But he shook his head, biting his lip to contain a whimper as Eddie looked down at their cocks and spit.
“Gotta stay quiet, still. Don’t wanna be caught,” Eddie whispered as he leaned in to kiss him again, keep his mouth preoccupied so he didn’t give them away.
He knew Wayne would be at least another 10 minutes, but they both liked the idea of having to stay quiet and be quick.
And quick it was.
They both came in barely two minutes, Eddie riled up from Steve just being Steve, Steve being riled up at the fact they were doing this in the kitchen.
“I just cleaned this floor, you better not have gotten anything on it,” Steve smirked at Eddie as they buttoned themselves back up.
“Promise I’ll clean it up myself if I did.”
“You better. Gonna go shower next?” Steve tied the apron back up, walking over to the fridge to finally get the lemonade.
“Yeah, I’m pretty sore today. Hot water will help.”
Steve turned to him with a furrowed brow.
“You should’ve said, baby. You need some Motrin or something?”
“Nah, maybe after I eat. Got a dose of you to help,” he winked obnoxiously.
“Alright, keep it in your pants,” Steve said as he poured a glass for Eddie and a glass for Wayne.
“You’re the one who had it out a minute ago!”
Steve just gave him a dead-eyed stare before handing him his lemonade.
“Get out of my kitchen.”
“Sir, yes sir!” Eddie saluted.
He took a few sips of the lemonade as he walked towards his bedroom to grab clothes.
It was delicious, as he expected.
Just like coming home to Steve every day.

Love Sea 🌊 is here and I'm being so normal about it! Entirely normal! Totally didn't already write half an essay on pronoun predictions back when the intro trailer came out or anything haha...
This is gonna be a bit meandering because it's partly my chronological notes and partly me trying to gather similar things into one category so please excuse the chaotic nature of this post lol
Disclaimer: not a native Thai speaker, still learning 🙏
Overworked secretary Mook is already my favorite 😂 She's adorable and clumsy and clearly thinks way too much! The way she frustratedly strikes through 'high voice' on her 30-step-script/plan I LOVE HER
Tumblr media
Sidenote: I see why Vi and Rak are besties, she's such a schemester omg ViMook are gonna be an excellent side couple! It's also such a delight to see Aya in a completely different role from Wa in Wedding Plan. :>
Back to Mook's desk though- We know that BossNoeul are gonna have a cameo as themselves during the book fair Mook mentions on the phone because we've seen them with the "Boy Next World" novel in the trailer-
Tumblr media
So let's take a look at Rak's manuscripts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1) "Love Sand" - which is the novel that Connor and his boyfriend Khom, played by Pentor in Love Sea, are from! 2) "Test Love" - specifically, the illustration looks to be from the special novel and the middle couple, Ryu and Sun. We know them from Wedding Plan because none other than Forth, who plays Palm in Love Sea, played Sun:
Tumblr media
Since I'm talking about him already- Palm saying ขอนั่งนะ /khaaw nang na/ (= Can I sit?) as he's literally already gettin comfy?? djshshjs this kid is so- fucking- nonchalant? overly casual? (in his speech too) it's hilarious! Also, I'm not sure if he's the best or the worst wingman ever lmao
Tumblr media
แล้วถ้าเกิดที่นี่มีดีสุดแค่เนี้ย พี่ก็ไม่อยากได้ที่เหลือเหมือนกัน /laaeo thaa geert thee nee mee dee soot kaae niia, phi gaaw mai yaak dai thee leuua meuuan gan/ = If the best this place has to offer is just this then I don't want the rest either. -> I love and appreciate MMY's translator but it's entirely implication if he means the drink, the bar or Mahasamut
When Mut asked if Connor's talking about a person or dog and Connor said Rak is more like a cat which he'll see once he meets him, Mut texted:
Tumblr media
/khun Connor phuut meuuan pom rap liiang laaeo/ = You say that like I've already adopted him/agreed to raise him.
And the word เลี้ยง /liiang/ comes up several times then-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one's subbed as 'take for a walk' but it's actually เลี้ยง /liiang/ again, not that Rak understands a single word anyway when Mut's speaking Southern dialect lmao Sidenote: His dialect isn't even that strong btw, especially compared to some of the folks he interacted with at the beginning of the episode. Mut and Connor are just clearly pulling one over on Rak lmao I couldn't stop laughing at Mut keeping on pulling out the dialect to get on city boy Rak's nerves! Similarly, I love that Rak clearly underestimates Mut at first and thinks he's a huge idiot and country bumpkin, even trying to manipulate Mut with his body, meanwhile Mut plays his part so well 😂
... as well as the cat/pet implication:
Tumblr media
He actually said 'brush your fur' lol
Here we've got an idiom that got lost in translation cause it wouldn't make sense:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
หลงตัวเอง ผีเจาะปากมาพูด* /lohng dtuua eng. phee jaw bpaak maa phuut/ = So full of yourself/such a narcissist. You sure like hearing yourself talk*. -> *it's an idiom that literally translates to 'a ghost pierced your mouth to make you talk' and describes someone who talks endlessly ผีอะไรมันจะหล่อขนาดนี้คุณ /phee a rai man ja laaw khanaat nee, khun/ = What ghost would be this handsome?
Lastly- the seagull laugh after Rak trips on the beach is so. fucking. funny!

Anatomy II
By: JohnBoy
Someone was pounding on the door...
Big Jim Reese woke up with a snort; he'd been having a late afternoon nap on the cot in his office. His "office" was actually a small trailer, parked amongst some trees near the back of the construction site.
Jim sat up groggily -- he coughed and slowly ran a large, beefy hand over the stubble on his shaved head. The pounding came again, more urgent this time.
"Hey, Mr. Reese! You in there?" It sounded like a young guy.
"Yeah, yeah," he spoke in his deep baritone, "hold on a sec." The huge black man got up and opened the door.
It was Ken, the son of the crane-operator. He was tall and rather well-built, about 20 or so, sandy blond and blue-eyed, and with a tuft of bristly beard on the end of his chin.
Jim had noticed (on the four or five other occasions that he'd met him) that he always acted a bit shy and nervous around him. Probably, he guessed, because he was intimidated by his size: Jim was a half-foot taller than him, and probably out- weighed the kid by at least 130 pounds (a good deal of it was solid muscle, too).
"Hey Kenny, what're you doin' here?"
"Is-- is my Dad here?"
"Nope, he's gone home already." Jim yawned; he thought the young man looked even more nervous than usual. "Uh, everything okay?"
Ken glanced over his shoulder. "The cops are after me, man."
"What?" Jim looked towards the street; he could see a police cruiser pulling up in front of the site. He'd heard that this boy had been in trouble with the law in the past: B&E, some minor theft...
"I need a place to hide. Please, you gotta let me in!"
Jim sighed. He wanted nothing to do with this kid's problems. But an idea was starting to form in his head... and before he even realized it, he said, "Okay, get in." Ken was peeking out through the blinds, watching the cop. Jim had not asked him what kind of trouble he was in this time, and the kid hadn't told him...
"What's he doing?" Jim asked.
"He's just talking to one of the workers. Wait-- shit, the guy's pointing this way!"
Kenny looked around the trailer. "Fuck, if I get caught this time, I'm going to jail for sure. You can't let him find me!"
"If he wants to look in here, I don't think I can really stop him."
"But... there's no place to hide in here! What am I gonna do?"
"Well," he said slowly, trying to sound nonchalant, "I got a suggestion."
"What??"
"How much you weigh, Kenny?"
"Wha--? Uh, about 190, I guess. Why?"
Jim tugged thoughtfully at his wiry, dark goatee. This young man was a fair bit bigger than the doctor had been. He wondered, could he do it?
"You can hide... in here." Jim pointed to his stomach.
"Huh?"
"I could swallow you."
Ken just stared at him.
Jim went on, "Just for awhile. I could swallow you whole and hide you inside my belly, just 'til the cop leaves. Don't worry, you'll be safe. If he comes up here lookin' for you, well... there's no way he'd find ya. Then when he's gone, I'll let you out."
Ken continued to stare at him.
"Well? What do you think?"
"Oh come on... this is a joke, right?"
"No, I mean it. I'm serious."
"You're crazy, Mr. Reese. You can't swallow a whole person. It's-- it's frickin' impossible!!"
"Well, yeah, for most people. But I'm different; there's somethin' special about my anatomy that lets me do it. Big mouth, big throat, big stomach... just ask my doctor. Trust me, I can do it." Jim knew this might not be completely true... after all, when he'd done it before (three days earlier), Doctor Moffat had given him some kind of injection as well. Whether he could do it now, without the drug, remained to be seen.
Ken still seemed unconvinced. He looked out the window again, anxiously.
"Well, we're runnin' outta time, son," Jim said, "Do you wanna try it or not?"
"But... you'll let me back out, right?"
"Yeah, sure, of course I will."
The kid shrugged. "What the hell, I guess I got no choice. Okay."
"Damn right!" Jim tried to suppress his excitement. Ever since the doctor's appointment, he'd been thinking of little else but swallowing someone again -- and now he had his chance!! Of course he intended to release the boy afterwards...
but he thought, maybe he could try to keep him inside for awhile? Say, ten minutes or so? Would he survive in there that long??
"Er, what should I do...?"
The big man went to the tiny fridge and pulled out a stick of butter. "Take off all yer clothes and rub this on you."
Ken's face screwed up. "What are you gonna do, fry me up first?"
"It's to make you slide down easy. Come on. And take that earring off, too." Jim looked through the blinds. "You better hurry up, son. I think the cop is comin' this way," he lied.
Kenny started to undress. Jim took off his own shirt, undid the button on his jeans, and unzipped his fly part-way. He saw Ken looking at him as he did this, and said, "Gotta make room for ya." He patted his belly. "You're a big boy."
The young man was completely nude now. After hesitating for a moment, he picked up the stick of butter and began to rub it over his chest. "It's cold!"
"Don't worry, you'll get nice and warmed up once you're inside me." Jim realized that he was starting to salivate. His stomach began to grumble and groan in anticipation, and he wondered if Kenny could hear it...
After the boy had buttered himself up, Jim ordered him to lie down on the cot, on his back. He dropped to his knees heavily at the foot of the cot and grabbed him firmly by the ankles, lifting his feet up. He hoped the hunger in his face wasn't too obvious. Now Jim could see a hint of fear in Ken's expression, and realized he'd have to work fast and get it done with before he changed his mind. (And just in case the policeman came around, too!)
He said in a reassuring tone, "It's okay, kid. I promise it won't hurt a bit. I've done this before." He grinned. Then he crouched down and opened his mouth very, very wide...
"Shit, man," Ken mumbled.
With a grunt, Jim quickly thrust both feet into his mouth and part-way down his throat -- Ken giggled despite his fear, squirming around as if he was being tickled. Jim grasped his legs more tightly and pushed again, taking him in almost to the knees with a thick, slurping sound.
"Holy cow, I can't believe you're doing that!" the boy said in amazement. "Hey, wait, I just thought of something... will I even be able to breathe in there?"
Jim tried to nod (which wasn't easy), and gulped again, taking his legs in even further. He couldn't believe how fantastic this felt... the kid was delicious! He'd be moaning with pleasure if his throat hadn't been so full. He wished he could slow down and enjoy every inch of Kenny's smooth, firm, sweet flesh as it slipped inside him, but there wasn't enough time -- besides, he was too ravenous!
Ken's face turned pale as he watched the huge man's mouth working to take him in, gobbling him up, the lips stretching around his hips and ass now. "Goddamn..." he whispered.
Jim's eyes were starting to roll over white with the effort. He continued to swallow, while at the same time holding Ken by his upper arms and shoving him in. Then he guided his hands into his mouth, gaping even wider to engulf the boy's muscular torso and arms. He could feel his legs starting to fold up inside his belly.
"Uhh, Mr. Reese?"
He ignored him. He couldn't believe the power of his throat muscles; it seemed they were working on auto-pilot, flexing and gulping almost on their own, practically sucking the kid down his gullet... it felt so natural. He realized there was no question now as to whether or not he needed drugs to do this.
But the most difficult part was coming: Kenny's wide shoulders...
Ken seemed to be having a bit of trouble breathing with the pressure on his chest. His eyes were starting to bug out, and there was an incredulous expression on his face; Jim imagined that he must've looked quite bizarre right now, with his mouth stetched out to grotesque proportions.
This was starting to get harder, and the sensation of fullness was unbelievable. Perhaps the boy was too big? Had he bitten off more than he could chew, so to speak?
The young man blurted, "I-- I'm not sure about this anymore. Wait..." He began to struggle feebly, but his arms were pinned to his sides, inside Jim's throat.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock at the trailer door. A voice called out, "Anyone in there?"
Jim's heart lunged. Shit, it was the cop! He looked Ken in the face, wondering what his reaction would be. Would he scream for help??
A moment of silence passed... then Ken seemed to make his decision: "Uh," he cleared his throat, and tried to talk in a deeper voice, "Yes, officer? I mean, who is it?"
Jim would've smiled if he could. He continued to swallow -- but now it felt like the kid was almost stuck!
"Jim Reese? I'd like to talk to you, if you don't mind."
"Uhh... okay, er, gimme a minute," Ken said.
Jim reached out, clamped onto Ken's shoulders and began forcefully shoving him in with all his strength, swallowing hard.
The door handle rattled. "Please open up, it's the police."
"Just-- just let me get some pants on! Oh, Christ..." Kenny gasped.
Now only his head still protruded from the man's mouth. Jim pushed on the crown of his head with both hands, and he continued to slide in... he could feel the kid's little beard scraping against the roof of his mouth.
In a muffled voice, he heard him say, "Jeez, it smells like hamburgers in here..."
And then he closed his mouth completely over him and gulped hugely. He felt the boy going all the way down, filling his gut...
The cop was knocking again, impatiently. "Sir, will you open the door??"
Jim was gasping for air. "Yeah, yeah," he managed to say. He could feel Ken squirming around inside him -- it seemed like he was trying to turn around. He gulped down several large mouthfuls of air so the kid could breathe. Then he got up with a loud grunt, steadying himself against the wall. The weight in his gut was incredible; he was having some difficulty just standing up!
He quickly kicked Ken's clothes and shoes under the cot, then unlocked the door.
The police officer looking up at him was on the short side, but quite burly. He had a thick, brown, brush-like moustache and a buzzcut. He was carrying his cap under one arm.
Almost immediately, his eyes went to Jim's enormous, round globe of a belly, and his jaw dropped slightly. But then he tried to compose himself and looked Jim in the face, saying in a firm voice, "Is there a problem?"
"Uh, no-- sorry I took so long, officer. I was... I had to put some clothes on." Jim tried to laugh.
The cop looked at him suspiciously. "I thought I heard someone else in here."
"Nope, just me. I was having a little snooze."
"Well... I'm Officer Banks. May I come in? I'd like to ask you a few questions."
"Oh, sure." Jim backed up to allow the guy to enter.
"So you're the foreman on this site, Mr. Reese?" The cop couldn't seem to help himself; he kept glancing down at Jim's gut. Jim was nervous... for some reason, Ken was struggling a bit inside him, and he hoped it wouldn't be visible from the outside. Was the boy uncomfortable?
"Yes."
The policeman looked slowly around the interior of the trailer. He said, "You know a young man named Kenneth Delaney?"
"Yeah, I think so. He's one of the employees' kids."
"Have you seen him today?"
Jim's stomach gurgled audibly. "Ah, no. Haven't seen him."
"You sure? One of your workmen seems to think he came up here. He's in a bit of trouble, I'm afraid."
"Sorry, I was sleeping. I didn't see anyone." From Jim's belly came a small moan; Jim thumped a hand to his gut and uttered a short, loud burp. "Ooof... 'scuse me, officer!"
Banks couldn't seem to contain himself any longer -- chuckling, he poked Jim in the belly and said, "I'm sorry, but... man! That is some huge gut you've got there, buddy." He shook his head. "You got a horse in there, or what?"
"Aw, no, it's just fat. And... I had a big lunch today, too." Jim smiled broadly.
"Never seen anything like that. Damn! Sorry, I hope I haven't embarassed you."
"That's alright, I know I could stand to lose 'bout 200 pounds. So, umm... what's the boy done?"
"I can't really tell you that." The cop took another quick look around the trailer. "Well, you just keep an eye out for him, okay?"
"Okay, sure thing."
"Thanks for your time. You take care, sir." He left.
Jim could feel a massive belch building up, trying to escape. He sat down on the cot with a groan. Ken was wriggling around more now, and he could hear him trying to say something -- obviously, he wanted to be released.
Now that the policeman was gone Jim could relax, and really savour the experience of having a whole, live person inside his stomach. It felt great, even better than with the doctor... he'd never had such an enjoyable and satisfying meal in his life!
And now he was starting to realize something else: he didn't want to let the boy back out after all. He knew he had to; he'd surely suffocate in there before long and besides, he thought he could feel his digestive juices starting to flow. Just awhile longer, he thought...
The kid moaned again from inside his gut. His struggles seemed to be weakening.
Mm-mmm... he'd sure been a tasty morsel. He felt so full... and yet he thought that he could probably take someone even a little bigger than Kenny, next time. Jim rubbed his belly, opened his mouth wide and heaved out a huge, long, thun- derous belch. He was about to gulp down some fresh air for the boy, but then stopped himself.
With a sigh, he stretched out onto his back instead. I guess this was my plan all along, he thought to himself. Wasn't it? He didn't know if he could actually digest such an incredible amount of food...
but he supposed there was only one way to find out.

I HAVE SO MANY, BUT ALSO 0 THOUGHTS ON THE NEW MEMORY WITH XAVIER???? (Because I feel like my brain is entirely assaulted by so much... no brain cells survived)
Okay... but the vibe that I got previously where I mentioned that Xavier felt like he could finally bring his walls down... MAN JUST BROUGHT DOWN THE ENTIRE DAM I TELLS YOU!
All in all, LOVE the story line and the development that happened within! Big character development too!
Full ramblings under the cut (ヘ ° w °;)ヘ (beware... it's a hecking long post...)
Off the start and there's already reference to their past lives being in the same school 😭
Tumblr media
Of course, he made the first move, he was the one that even wanted to elope, but MC was dense (and also too responsible) 😤
Tumblr media
Xavier... you and your technicalities. This man, seriously... And the fact that his profile has like... 0 information... huh. What a surprise, not. The way MC retorts thoooo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HE IS A PLANET THAT'S STRAYED FROM ORBIT இ௰இ And Xavier's been on his guard this whole time...
AND HELLO? NEWLYWED BANTER ALREADY???! CUTE??? 😩
ALSO THE FACT XAVIER SPUN THE STORY THAT HE BROKE AWAY FROM HIS FAMILY...! ELOPING!!! ANOTHER CALLBACKKKKK 😭😭😭
Tumblr media
(and as usual, there's gotta be the gossiping asian aunties xd;;; )
Okay I need to stop it with the caps.... But I really can't help feeling like yelling into the void because all my brain cells are just being thrown all around by this memory. Okay, breathe...
Classic Xavier just... easily winning over the elderlies =w=;;; and then the corny (cringe to me) petnames tho 😭 stud muffin???? cutie patootie??? I can't evennnn
Okay the CN version, they just call each other baby/宝宝... the stark difference 🤣
it's still cute how they try to act so hard X'D but Xavier's totally just living out his fantasies at this point, I'm sure. Xavier's acting was very natural in a way. How easily he just leans on MC before, and calling her using a pet name, even just holding onto her after and naturally flowing into a "Come back soon" 🥺🥺🥺
Just a few days and they're already naturally living their domestic life, as if it's always been that way o(TヘTo)
Tumblr media
Later on, Jenna commented on how MC has gotten thinner and MC was like thinking how most of the food was cooked by Xavier ToT Man is trying his hardest!
Tumblr media
AND OKAY HELLO???! XAVIER CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT NUMBER 1????
MC totally is just letting Xavier use the kitchen???! No snappy remarks about kitchens on fire???
Tumblr media
(and also MC just casually remembering what her at-home husband's favourite fruit is and just picking one up back for him 😭)
Tumblr media
AND NO KITCHENS ON FIRE FOR REAL!!! I REPEAT NO FIRES IN THE KITCHEN! Xavier FINALLY can cook!?!! (but what's with the teasing Xavier ToT MARSHMALLOW SPAGHETTI?????)
Tumblr media
His food is MC approved 😭😭😭😭 BABY BOY HAS GROWN!
And he just... casually indulged in her touch....
Tumblr media
And why is it that after carrying out their mission, Xavier went from a simple white shirt, shows up in a whole getup? ToT but I'll take it! And MC being dense again and how Xavier just corrects her but she goes to hug him right away???? The whole 21 days to create a habit thing... And the way he asks for more?????? Man is slipping. He's about to just. Let it go.
And to think... the whole Kindled just started with MC's little push when Xavier replies vaguely as usual
Tumblr media
Guess after 21 days of living out your dream life, nothing be holding him back at this point huh. And the way Xavier's tone just completely changed! HE BECAME SO SOFT AND LIKE NEEDY SOUNDING LIKE AHJDSHAFKLSDFL
BUT OML????! HELLO??? HOLD ON!!!
In the trailer, there were 2 kisses, right? MC just straight up snuck one! And Xavier went in for not one, BUT TWO! MORE TIMES. TWO!!
Tumblr media
LOOK. THE FLOOD GATES HAVE OPENED. HE JUST BE LETTING ALL THE STUFF HE'S HELD BACK, OUT. Nothing is stopping him any more. And he's not about to let anything stop him after this, for sure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Xavier finally can be himself. No facades, no alternate identities that he feels like he needs to put a distance with. Just as much as he loves every version of MC, he's dedicating every bit of him to MC 😭😭😭 I just... I can'tttttt. THIS WHOLE PART AFTER THE KINDLED BROKE ME...!
Tumblr media
AND THEN HE SNEAKS IN ONE MORE FINAL KISS RIGHT AT THE END?!!! (≧﹏ ≦) aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Tumblr media
Okay. I'm done. I'm just... so done. I won't recover from this. I don't think I can... 💗_(:з)∠)_

Hello! I’m sorry to hear you got writer's block :(
May i request “Wait a minute. Are you jealous?”, with Jenna Ortega please?
I hope it helps! 🫶🏼
Funny story
Jenna Ortega x reader
Tumblr media
Being an actress in a relationship with another actress isn’t always the greatest thing. There are fans, paparazzis, other celebrities and more things that will try to pull you apart but sometimes our self destructive minds are enough to do that.
The moment you and your girlfriend, Jenna, heard that you were cast in the same movie you were over the moon. You’ve always loved the scream movies and playing in one was a dream come true, especially since you have already met a big part of the cast due to Jenna.
The ‘over the moon’-phase was over when you got the script, you were still unbelievably happy but the fact that you’d play somebody else’s love interest wasn’t ideal. You didn’t really mind that much and Jenna, well she acted like she didn’t, but deep down it nagged her.
You’d play ‘cute girl’ (you’re taking cute boys place), Sams love interest from next door. You were happy to work so close with Melissa as she was incredibly nice and thoughtful making the whole filming a great experience.
“Y/n, wanna hang out later? We could run some scenes and get to know each other better, it makes the whole filming easier” Melissa said as she sat down on her chair next to you, “sure, Jenna is filming late today anyway” you quickly texted your girlfriend to let her know where you were before grabbing your jacket and walking with the older woman.
After you guys were out to eat you went to a small park where you ran some lines, practiced some movements and arrangements until it was completely dark. “Shit, it’s pretty late. I should get going, I bet Jenna’s waiting” you said your goodbye and hugged her before walking to your car.
“Baby, I’m Home” you called out when you entered the apartment but you didn’t receive an answer. “Baby?” You called out again as you went into the bedroom where you found your girlfriend sleeping with your pillow in her arms. You cooed before you got ready for bed and went to join her. She grumbled when you pulled the pillow out of her grip but shut up when she noticed your present next to her.
The next morning was like every other morning, you guys woke up, got ready then made breakfast and quickly ate before driving to the set. “So, where were you so long yesterday?” The brunette in front of you asked as you drank a sip of your coffee. “Oh, Melissa and I went to eat something and then we ran some lines” you answered with a small smile before asking how her day had been.
The moment you arrived on set Melissa pulled you away to discuss something causing Jenna to scoff before making her way to the makeup department. Jenna didn’t see you until you had to film a scene where Tara, Sam and their friends were in their apartment and you had eye contact with Sam from your window. While your girlfriend was already walking towards you to greet you with a kiss, the director had different plans as he immediately send her back so they could start filming.
She hated this, all of it. She hated the way the actress looked at you and even worse, she hated how you looked at and smiled at the other actress, it seemed too real. So the moment the scene ended she sprinted towards her trailer leaving everybody confused.
As it was your last scene for the day you had enough time to look after Jenna. “Jen?” You carefully whispered when you entered her trailer to see her sitting on a chair in the kitchen. “What’s wrong hun?” You wrapped your arms around her shoulders and kissed the back of her head causing her to melt into you. “Nothing, I was just a bit overwhelmed” it wasn’t hard to see that she wasn’t 100% truthful but you decided to give her space.
“Jenna, we need to film the next scene. Oh and y/n, Melissa wants to see you” Jasmin yelled from behind the door causing your girlfriend to jump up and walk off. But you quickly grabbed her wrist to pull her back into your arms, kissing her softly, before letting her walk away. You followed behind the two to find Melissa.
The filming has been rather weird, you barely saw Jenna as either you were spending time with Melissa or she was off doing who knows what. She barely talked to you at the moment, making it hard for you to concentrate and even worse, it made you crave physical touch. You missed her hugs and you missed the cuddles, the kisses and holding hands.
People on set seemed to notice that there was something wrong as especially Melissa and Jasmin offered you a whole lot of hugs whenever you wanted. It did ease it a bit but it was nothing compared to Jenna.
After barely seeing you for two weeks the small brunette finally decided to watch one of your scenes, possibly the worst scene she could have chosen. It took place after Tara’s and Sams fight where the older girl sat in the lobby waiting for you.
Melissa sat on the stairs playing with the rings on her fingers while you got yourself ready behind the door you’d walk through. Jenna sat on a chair behind the cameras.
As soon as the mark came you pushed the door open and went to get your mail, counting to five in your head before you made your way toward the older carpenter sister. You walked past her in a normal pace and slowed when you reached a certain mark on the floor, it gave Melissa the time to reach for your wirst and pull you back. Once you were situated in the right place she nearly threw herself at you, her hands on your shoulders pushing you against the wall while yours landed on her waist. In a matter of seconds her lips landed on yours in a aggressive and passionate kiss, you loved Melissa but it was uncomfortable. You could feel Jenna stare right through the woman.
When you parted you saw Jenna fuming and as soon as the scene was over she grabbed your hand and pulled you away. You were deeply confused by her behavior, not just today but the last weeks.
And then again you were pressed against a wall with someone’s hands on your shoulders, but this time it felt like home. Sure, the kiss wasn’t gentle or anything, it was rather the opposite. It was like she was trying to show anyone who could kiss you like that and god, did she know your buttons. In a couple of seconds your knees were bucking and you had to suppress your moans which was when she started to attack your neck.
In that moment Jenna wasn’t completely focused on you, she was making sure that Melissa saw how you melted under your touch, grinning when she was how the woman looked away embarrassedly.
You lightly pushed her away, “let’s get to my trailer okay?” This time you grabbed her hand and pulled her away. Her eyes were focused on Melissa, a wicked grin sporting her face while the other actress was rather confused.
As soon you entered the trailer she was on your neck again, biting down to leave a mark. “You’re mine” was the only thing she whispered against your neck and at that moment the lightbulb on top of your head lit up. “Wait a minute. Are you jealous?” You giggled as the other woman only grumbled.
After a small moment of silence she finally spoke up as she threw herself onto the bed. “How couldn’t I? She’s been taking all of your time, I barely saw you, people have taken pictures of you wan started shipping you and you guys have to kiss, like constantly” she was throwing her hands around as she was clearly frustrated.
You felt sorry for her, you didn’t know that she felt like that. You sat beside her and pulled her into you. “I’m sorry you feel that way, I didn’t know. When you distanced yourself I actually felt rather lonely and Melissa was there so I guess I used that. But I love you more than anything else, Melissa is just a friend and who cares what the fans think? I love you and that won’t change”
“I love you too”
@yourinstagramname
Tumblr media
@yourinstagramname: the only love of my life ❤️
The next day Jenna said sorry to Melissa before making it clear one more time that you were hers. “Jenna we talked about this, and she has a boyfriend” Your girlfriends face fell and turned red. “Why didn’t you tell me before?” Let’s just say Melissa couldn’t stop laughing.
At least it was a funny story.

Heavy rain is pouring down and Eddie is drenched within seconds after he gets out of the car. He slings his backpack over his shoulder and takes his guitar case in his hand, then watches the car drive away before he can even thank the man who gave him a ride. It gets swallowed by the gray curtains of rain and fog almost right away.
He shivers and starts to walk, already sopping in his shoes. After only a couple of steps, he stops to fumble around in his pockets and puts a cigarette between his lips, but the rain has it soaked right away and makes it impossible to light the thing. With a frustrated groan, he throws the useless cigarette in the wilting greenery next to the road and starts walking again, trying to ignore the cars driving by and splashing gusts of water over his jeans. The one positive thing is that the cold rainwater softens the pain on his face, even though it can't make his throbbing headache disappear.
It takes him about forty minutes until he reaches the trailer park. The door to his uncle's trailer is locked and Wayne's car is nowhere to be seen, so Eddie drops his stuff on the porch and goes to sit down with his back against the wall, trying to keep himself shielded from the rain. He's cold right to his bones; he pulls his legs up in front of him and wraps his arms around them.
With trembling white fingers, he produces the pack of cigarettes from his pocket again. This time he miraculously manages to get one lit and he takes a long and grateful inhale.
He loses all sense of time while he's sitting there, smoking cigarette after cigarette while staring at the never-ending rain in front of him: the muddy puddles keep growing bigger and bigger and every now and then some of his uncle's neighbors come running from their cars to their homes or the other way. None of them pay attention to the boy with the bruised face on the Munson doorstep.
The sun is already setting when he finally sees the old truck that he recognizes as uncle Wayne's driving towards the trailer. His uncle steps out; he doesn't say anything when he spots Eddie sitting on his doorstep, but quickly walks through the puddles towards his home. He stops right in front of his nephew to take in his damaged face with a piercing gaze.
He doesn't ask Eddie what he's doing at the trailer park or how long he has been sitting there. Instead, he wordlessly opens the door and gestures for him to get up.
Eddie obeys, even though it feels like every frozen and beaten bone in his body is protesting against the movement.
'Who did this to you?' uncle Wayne asks when Eddie is standing upright.
For all the hours he has been sitting on this porch thinking about everything that happened to get him here, not once has Eddie pondered the question what he should say to his uncle. He finds himself frozen, searching for words to explain what happened but coming up empty in the moment.
'Was it your dad?' Wayne prompts.
Eddie nods.
A particularly creative string of swear words falls from Wayne's lips and Eddie looks at him in surprise; he's never seen his uncle get mad before. Always calm, always soft-spoken, so completely different from Eddie's father.
'I'm never going back,' Eddie tells him.
'Come inside, you're staying with me,' Wayne says immediately.
'I don't know if I can.' Eddie's voice has been changing lately, dropping lower, matching the soft dark hair that has started growing above his lips; but right now, he somehow completely sounds like a little boy again. He kind of hates it.
Wayne stays silent, asking him to explain himself merely by raising his eyebrows at him.
'I'm gay.' He swallows; it's the first time he says the words out loud. 'And there's no point in running from my dad if it's gonna be the same here with you.' He lifts his chin up, deciding that he refuses to be the victim or the poor little boy that needs pity, and meets his uncle's eyes without looking away. 'In that case I'd rather go to Indy and sleep on the streets,' he adds in a much stronger voice.
But Wayne only shakes his head, slowly, and takes a step closer to Eddie. He just as slowly raises his hands and wraps them around Eddie's damaged cheeks. His hands are big, but his touch is gentle despite the harsh callouses on his palms and fingers. Then, he pulls his nephew closer towards him and envelopes him in the warmth of his arms.
Eddie can't remember if he has even been hugged by uncle Wayne before. His head rests in the crook of Wayne's neck and he can smell the scent of his heavy cigarettes mingled with sweat from a hard day's work. Wayne's arms are warm around Eddie's frozen body and the fabric of his plaid jacket is soft against the soreness in the spot where sharp metal collided with his cheek hours ago.
After a long moment, Wayne lets go and grabs Eddie's threadbare backpack.
'You're staying here,' he repeats while he carries Eddie's stuff into the trailer, his voice not allowing for any contradiction. And that's all he really needs to say.

If you are so inclined, I’d love to see Steve and Eddie’s aquarium date 💕
Thank you for your patience!!! (and for being my biggest fan! 🥹)
This is just fluff, fluff, and more fluff. - w.c: 4.6k - cw: n/a!
This can be read alone, but it is meant to be a companion piece to this!
Hope you enjoy our boys and their aquarium adventures! 💛
~
They’ve been together six months but watching Steve wake up in the mornings hasn’t gotten old. Eddie hopes it never does. He hardly ever wakes up before the other boy so each time he does, he makes sure to savor the moment. When Steve’s asleep his face is completely relaxed, mouth parted just slightly. Right before he wakes up, he always smacks his lips together and then scrunches his face slightly. Honey eyes blink open, and on the days that Eddie’s caught in his admiration, he gets a gooey smile first thing. He’d be more than happy laying in bed for a bit longer but they’ve got plans today, so he reaches up to gently brush the bangs back from Steve’s forehead.
“Sweetheart.” He barely whispers the word, but right on cue Steve scrunches his face and his eyes start to flutter open.
“Mm.” And Steve closes his eyes again, just scooting closer to Eddie to tuck his face in his chest.
“Stevie, we gotta get up. We got plans today, remember?” Eyelashes tickle his collarbone and he pinches at Steve’s side. “C’mon, you were all excited about this. And you’ve got me invested in what this surprise could be – I know you talked to Wayne about something.”
Again, Steve stays quiet. He’s not much of a talker first thing in the morning. The kiss Eddie feels him press against his neck is better than words. Steve yawns and rolls onto his back, stretching until his hands touch the wall behind the bed and he grins crookedly at Eddie when he sits up.
“You’re right, let’s get going. We’ve got a bit of a drive before we get there.”
🐟🐟🐟
A wave of deja vu hits him when Steve pulls onto an exit in Louisville. A Denny’s sign welcomes him like an old friend and suddenly he remembers – chocolate chip pancakes and Wayne’s black coffee.
“Stevie.” There’s a lump in his throat that wasn’t there before and he pulls his eyes away from the sign to look at his boyfriend. Steve’s tilted his head to show he’s listening, eyes focused on the road as he turns.
“Did you bring me to the aquarium?”
Steve grins, eyes squinted just that little bit closed in happiness. Sunlight shines through his hair like a halo. Eddie’s own personal angel.
“Yep! When I was helping Wayne pack up the trailer for the move, I found a keychain on your dresser. Wayne happened to see it in the box I’d put it in and told me all about your visit out here. He said he had planned on bringing you back but stuff kept coming up and then all of a sudden you seemed ‘too old’ to bring anymore.” One hand raised off the wheel to do air quotes and Eddie feels the butterflies kick in his stomach. His boyfriend is such a dork. “Anyway, I thought it would be nice to come out for our anniversary, you know, to woo you.” Steve winks at the word, something they joke about often. Curse Eddie for saying that’s what he expected when Steve went in to kiss him the first time.
A glance at the road reveals an upcoming stoplight and Eddie waits just long enough for the car to stop before leaning over the console to kiss Steve. He tastes like cheap gas station coffee and the chocolate frosted donuts they shared on the way up. When he backs away Steve follows him and offers another quick peck.
“Consider me wooed, Stevie.”
🐟🐟🐟
Since it’s a weekday, they’re able to find decent parking and head straight in to get tickets. Eddie can’t stop grinning, excitement bursting from him at getting to see all the different animals again. There are different halls that branch off from the main entrance: Under Water Coves, The Swamplands, and Penguin Palooza. By the smile on Steve’s face, he knows Eddie’s calling the shots today – and even if their feet hurt later, Steve won’t fault Eddie for dragging him around to every attraction the aquarium has to offer.
The first hall they come to is shrouded in darkness and when they turn the corner they see why. All of the fish in the tanks glow, bright flashes of orange and greens as the fish dart through their tanks. There’s enough light coming off of the tanks that they can read the panels on the wall to learn more, but Eddie finds himself more invested in watching Steve. His boyfriend is standing to the side of the tank, eyes drawn to the crabs crawling at the bottom. Fast footprints sound behind him and before he can even turn, two kids come racing to the same tank. The taller of the two has her hair pulled up in a pony tail tied with pink ribbon and the other’s unruly curls have been left in a pile on his head. Miss Pink Bows slows down as they approach but her brother doesn’t and slams right into the glass. Luckily, he doesn’t seem phased by the tumble and stands to press his hands against the glass.
Steve turns with a grin, huffing a laugh of his own when he make eye contact with Eddie. That’s all it takes for the metalhead to erupt in giggles and Steve pulls him by the arm to the next viewing section.
“Eddie – stop, stop laughing.”
The admonishment would mean more if Steve wasn’t fighting back his own laughter.
🐟🐟🐟
The tunnel of fish steal Steve’s full attention but he’s still holding onto Eddie’s hand as they stand on the moving walkway. If there’s a fish he seems worried Eddie’s going to miss he squeezes and points towards where the fish is in the tank.
“Eddie, look, look at that!” A squeeze and a point guides Eddie’s eyes away from his boyfriend and to the four foot wide manta ray about to swim above them. He’s almost sure that his own smile matches the tiny one on the underside of the manta ray. There’s a blue hue painted over everyone under the tunnel, but it doesn’t take away from how bright Steve seems to be beside him. “Woah!” Another manta ray approaches the side of the tunnel and it has to be double the size of the one before. This one does a strange flipping maneuver and suddenly they can see its dark grey back instead as it swims nearly upside down above them. “They’re so big! I can’t believe how big they are.”
Eddie can’t let the opportunity pass and grins salaciously. “That’s what she said.” Steve rolls his eyes but his smile doesn’t dim. His brown hair shifts as he shakes his head and steps off of the walkway towards the next section.
🐟🐟🐟
The next room they enter has a wall of glass from ceiling to floor. Inside, there’s the shadow of a whale shark swimming towards them, gliding smoothly through the water. Eddie doesn’t pull his eyes away even as Steve gently tugs his hand to get them closer to the glass. He only looks away for a moment when he almost tumbles down the two smaller steps that lead to the viewing area. Up close the whale shark is just as cool as he remembers it to be. A sign on the wall lets people know that there’s two sharks in the tank, Alice and Mary. Smaller fish swim near her, and when light from above hits them just right they look just like silver sparkles surrounding her. Calm washes over him as he watches her swim past the glass, another shadow in the distance outlining the other shark.
Last time he was here he knows he pressed his face and hands up against the glass, like getting closer would mean seeing them better – four foot wide glass be damned. Uncle Wayne had to carry him out so they could go through the rest of the museum. He’d rested his head on Wayne’s shoulder and kept his eyes trained on the tank for as long as he could until they turned the corner. It’d been his favorite part of the aquarium then and he’s sure that’s not going to change now.
Eddie notices the hair rising on the back of his neck before he makes the connection that he can feel eyes on him. He glances to his left and meets Steve’s hazel gaze. The last six months has taught Eddie how to read the many different expressions of his boyfriend, knowing what he’s thinking with just a quirk of his brow. Right now, the only way to describe the look on Steve’s face is lovesick. Soft in a way he sees when it’s late at night and they’re cuddled up under the blankets on the brink of sleep. It warms Eddie’s heart and he swears he feels it skip a beat as he grins.
“Aren’t these the best? Just gentle giants.”
🐟🐟🐟
“Wait, so we can touch these ones?” Surprise colors Steve’s words and he’s tilted his head in question towards the worker. A small ‘bay’ is between them, baby cownose rays gliding under a couple inches of water. The worker nods and then directs their attention towards a couple of young kids that have approached the pools.
Despite his question, Steve doesn’t move to touch one of the animals swimming, instead standing with his hands close to his chest like letting them hang too close to the water is going to hurt the rays.
“Do you want to touch them?” Eddie’s comment breaks Steve’s concentration and the younger boy turns to him.
“I’m not sure yet. You can though!” He steps quickly to the side like that’s the only thing keeping Eddie from reaching forward. A notch is between his brows and he gazes at the pool again, hazel eyes tracing the gentle movements the worker makes for the kids to copy. One of the kids touches the ray and pulls away quick, face scrunched in disgust; the other pets along the entire back with a gentle hand and a grin on their face. A couple rays swim towards Steve and Eddie’s side of the ‘bay’ and Eddie lowers his hand into the water. It’s colder than he thought it would be but one of the rays darts right under his finger tips. He’d thought it would be slimy but instead it’s soft like velvet. He turns to Steve with a grin, already reaching towards another ray swimming his way. The crease between Steve’s brows eases and his eyes dart to the dimple Eddie knows is denting his cheek with how big he’s grinning.
“Stevie, these are sooo soft. C’mon.” His boyfriend is still slow in his movements as he reaches towards the water, tension in his shoulders as a ray goes to glide to the other end of the pool. A freckled hand barely taps the water and then pulls away again. “They’re not gonna hurt you sweetheart, they wouldn’t let people touch them if they thought someone would get hurt.” Finally, all of the apprehension Steve’s been holding onto seeps out of him and he submerges one hand in the water while he uses the other one to hold onto Eddie’s dry one.
🐟🐟🐟
“Stevie, come and help me with this?”
This being a trivia game along the wall while they wait to get into the next exhibit. There’s questions with buttons to press that light up green or red depending on if you’re right or wrong. All of the questions are a little lower than eye level for them, probably meant for the younger kids in the hallway but being older hasn’t stopped Eddie from being a kid at heart.
“Okay, why is it called a spider crab?” There’s only two choices, and Eddie picks the one that makes the most sense. And gets a red light.
“How is it not because they have 8 legs? It’s just because they’re tall? That’s lame.” He gets an empathetic pat on the shoulder before Steve steps over to the next question.
“How many hearts does an octopus have? Wait, octopi have more than one heart?” Again, there are two choices and since it’s already wild to think about them having more than one heart, Eddie hits the button that says three – green.
“How about that! Three whole hearts. Hey, Stevie?” The brunette has already started for the next question and only turns his head to show he’s listening. Eddie closes the distance before continuing, “If I were an octopus all three of my hearts would belong to you.” That gets him a smile and the tops of Steve’s ears going pink. A quick peck to the moles on Steve’s left cheek and then he refocuses on the questions in front of him.
🐟🐟🐟
The hallway full of trivia ends with a small ramp leading into the Penguin Palooza. There’s two paths they can take, one that advertises walking with the penguins and the other leading to the normal viewing area. Eddie already knows it’s going to be worth it to go the first route when Steve turns to him in excitement.
Walking with the penguins means turning left and finding an entrance only tall enough to get in if you kneel down.
“Oh. Never mind, we don’t need to do this.” Steve’s already backing up a couple steps, hand pulling at Eddie to go back the other way. And Eddie knows that crawling is going to be rough on his hips, but they haven’t hurt yet today and if he goes slow then he should be fine. So instead of following Steve’s pulling, he squeezes his hand once and then lets go to get situated on the floor.
“No, I mean it. We’ll still get to see them if we go the other way. Ed-”
The carpet is an odd texture when Eddie places his hands on it. Somehow it’s the same rough you expect to give you carpet burn while also being smooth. He’s mainly glad that it’s dry as he crawls under the entrance to be face to face with a couple of interconnected tunnels. There’s areas with light pooled in one spot that he can see either kids standing in or adults going up on just their knees. Shuffling noises sound behind him and he glances back to see Steve crawling behind him, brown hair falling slightly into his eyes. Light pools down on them and when Eddie glances up he understands what the signs meant now. Penguins surround the dome he kneels up in to, one staring him down as he grins at it. Warmth presses against his side and he feels more than hears the gasp Steve lets out.
“This is so cool.”
🐟🐟🐟
“Did you see that penguins mate for life?” A nod and then Steve’s continuing, “They’re just like us.” And now it’s Eddie’s turn to blush. He pulls some hair from his shoulder to hide behind and tries to distract Steve by pulling him towards the amphitheater. This time they have to walk up a slight ramp, painted murals of dolphins covering the walls. It’s a lot cooler when they get to the end and there’s an usher standing at the doors gesturing them closer.
“Hey, show’s about to start. There should be a couple more seats available.”
Through the doors is a massive pool, seats like a theatre pressed up against one wall. They have to walk in front of everyone to find their seats which could’ve made Eddie nervous if it weren’t for the mime he sees ahead of them dancing behind a family finding their own seats. Every time the dad turns to see what the crowd is laughing at the mime stops dancing and pretends to whistle. Only to start skipping as soon as the dad turns again. A young boy starts walking the opposite way and the mime switches tactics to follow him. This time he’s ‘playing’ a trumpet as the boy makes his way to the exit. When Steve and Eddie walk by, the mime changes course again but this time he just hooks his elbow with Eddie as though the three of them are going on a walk together. It reminds him of Robin hanging onto Steve’s other side when the three of them cuddle up on the couch.
Steve finds an aisled staircase to walk up and Eddie nudges the mime before they can let go. He nods his head towards with a smirk and hopes the mime can think quick on his feet.
“Wow, you’re just going to leave me like this?” He projects his voice slightly, eyes catching a couple of bystanders’ faces as he does. By the time his boyfriend turns to him Eddie’s wiped the smile off of his face and is doing his best impression of someone who’s been cheated on. “I can’t believe you. I thought what we had was special.” This time he turns away from Steve and towards the mime, face tilted up towards the ceiling fluttering his eyes like he’s about to cry. “Take me away from this place, Jeffery.” He peeks one eye open to see the mime playing along, an exaggerated frown on his face. A laugh almost escapes but he covers it with a fake hiccup like he’s about to cry. And then he puts a lot of trust in Jeffery and falls back like a fainting damsel. Surprisingly, the mime catches him and fans at his face. When he opens his eyes it’s to Steve with his arms crossed over his chest and shaking his head. The right side of his mouth looks like it’s being chewed on, his tell that he’s trying his hardest not to smile. Then he shocks Eddie and plays along.
“Yeah, well you can have him, Jeffery.” His voice is deeper than usual, almost like how he sounded as King Steve, and he clicks his tongue before heading towards a couple of empty seats. The mime, good sport that he is, pats Eddie’s shoulder and pretends to roll up his sleeves. Shadow boxing the air behind Steve is what does Eddie in before he’s laughing hard enough there’s genuine tears in his eyes.
“Thanks, man.” Eddie knows the mime can’t respond in words but he does get a nod of respect as the bystanders clap at their act. He and the mime bow to the crowd, each trying to bow down lower than the other. Eddie calls it when his hip twinges and he finally heads off to seat next to Steve. His baby is chuckling when he sits down and Eddie grins. “Sorry, babe. Had to give the people what they want.”
🐟🐟🐟
Bright florescent lights nearly blind Eddie when they step into the gift shop. Luckily, his eyes adjust pretty quickly and he’s able to actually take in the different gifts in front of him. There’s a tower of stuffed clown fish in the center of the entrance, a couple sitting lopsided at the bottom where kids have nearly brought the stack down. Shelves line the right side of the shop, and they’ve got something for everyone: snow globes with turtles floating in the middle, all kinds of shark figurines, and even different sea animals made into squish balls.
Across from the shelves are racks lining the other wall. All of the items hanging are pastel with the aquarium’s logo smack in the middle of the chest. A cozy sweatshirt seems to call to Steve, his boyfriend’s hands already tucking into the arms of the hoodie to see if the inside is soft. Steve does this a lot to check that he’ll like the way the fabric feels before he buys it.
Eddie takes this opportunity to search through the spinning racks covered in different key chains. It only feels right to get Wayne one to match. Might’ve been X years in the making, but the Munsons deserve matching keychains. There’s so many different ones to look at so Eddie focuses more on which ones Wayne definitely will not use. This gets rid of any of them with his name on it (‘Not that old yet, Ed. Don’t need something with my name on it.’) and while the tiny pocket knives are cute, Eddie knows that they’d probably break in a week.
Steve joins him at the rack when he sees it: a whale shark dangling on a tiny chain. There’s a couple random fish hanging in front of it so he has to awkwardly juggle those into his hands without dropping them to get to the one he wants. When he holds it up to inspect closer, there’s a small chip in one of the fins but he figures that just adds some character to it. There’s only one thing in Steve’s hands when he turns around and it isn’t the sweatshirt he was checking out. No, it’s a massive whale shark. Like big enough that the head is resting on Steve’s chest and the tail is curled on his shins. Even without touching it Eddie can tell that it’s soft.
“Holy shit!” It’s just as soft as it looks when he reaches out to pet it. His chipped black nails almost blend in with the dark navy of the shark. All of the spots on its back are a cream color just like the stomach and face of the shark. “How do I get one of these?” When he looks up at Steve’s face again, the other boy’s face is turned in a frown, but something seems off about it.
“Well, this is actually the last one…” His voice is serious, but there’s a crinkle next to Steve’s eye like he’s fighting a smile. Eddie squints at him. “But I could let it go for the low price of a kiss.” Finally, the smile wins out and Steve’s beaming at Eddie. It takes a moment for the words to catch up, but when they do Eddie practically jumps to close the distance. The stuffed animal between them doesn’t do much but mess up his trajectory and they end up bumping noses instead of lips. His second attempt is better, lips slotting onto Steve’s messily – both smiling too much for it to be a deep kiss. Eddie’s free hand comes up to cup the side of Steve’s face, thumb tracing over the corner of his lover’s smile when he kisses him again. Three quick pecks and then he backs off again, rocking onto the heels of his feet. Steve looks dazed but happy, grin lopsided and taking up his whole face.
“That’s my payment good sir! Can I hold her?” Soft plush fills his arms and Steve takes the keychain before Eddie can drop it. They walk up to the cashier together and Eddie hears a couple kids gasp as he walks by with his prize. He’s already decided to name her Lady Krilina Chewsalot and he can’t wait to see how much space she takes up on the bed.
🐟🐟🐟
Sunset has come and gone by the time they get back to Hawkins and the porch light greets them when they pull up to the Munson trailer. Lady Krilina Chewsalot (Lady K.C.) had been exiled to the backseat when her head blocked the view of the rear view mirror. Eddie reaches into the backseat for her now, pulling her back into his lap and pulling the handle to step out of the car.
“Time to go introduce Wayne to his grand-daughter.” Steve just shakes his head and steps out, grabbing the small bag holding souvenirs for the group.
“Wayne!! I’ve got a surprise for you, old man!” Eddie calls out as he unlocks the door, tucking his new friend behind his back before stepping fully into the trailer. His uncle’s sitting on the couch, some black and white western playing on the TV. “I’ve got important news.” He pauses just long enough for Wayne to start to turn and then tugs the whale shark from his back and holds it in front of him with his arms outstretched.
“You’re a grandpa.” Lady K.C. blocks his view but Eddie can hear Wayne laughing anyway and it tugs at his heart. There are few things better than getting a laugh out of the older man. When he moves the plush down, Wayne’s turned on the couch with his arm resting on the back so he can see the boys clearly. Steve comes up beside him and passes the keychain to Eddie, moving the whale shark to his hands to take her in the direction of Eddie’s room. (Steve hopes he can convince Eddie to keep her at his desk while he stays over so he has bed space. He won’t be successful.)
“Nice one, Ed. Did you boys have fun?” The couch creaks when Eddie sits on it, springs noisy with age, and he holds his hand out to Wayne.
“It was just as cool as I remember. They added some new stuff too – we might have to all go again sometime. We got you this.”
Wayne’s weathered hand takes the key chain gently and lets the whale shark dangle in the air for a moment before smiling. “Thought we needed to match?” The words are teasing but there seems to be a gleam in Wayne’s eye when he glances at Eddie. Sometimes he gets like this, Eddie will do something that reminds him of years past and he’ll get lost in the memory. It worries Eddie a bit, but Wayne just says it’s like seeing the younger version of him overlap with the young man he is today.
🐟🐟🐟
Eddie’s blinds only do so much to block out the streetlamp outside and it paints his room in a dim yellow no matter the time of night. He used to complain about it but after the Upside Down it’s nice to be able to wake up and see everything semi-clearly. The light leaves an outline of Steve next to him, lying on his back with one arm resting on his own chest and the other reaching towards the side of the bed Eddie is on. Normally he’d be curled up on Steve’s chest and having his hair played with, but tonight Eddie’s opted to pet the face and sides of Lady Krilina Chewsalot to fully calm down before bed.
“Happy anniversary, baby.” Sleep seeps into Steve’s words and they come out as little more than a whisper. He yawns and turns on his side and scoots a little closer to Eddie.
“Today was amazing. Thanks, sweetheart. Happy anniversary.” When Eddie doesn’t move to push Lady K.C. away Steve sighs and gently nudges at Eddie’s shoulder.
“C’mon, Ed, let’s go to bed. You can hold your shark tomorrow.”
A scandalized gasp turns into a yawn when Eddie goes to answer. “You can’t make me get rid of her so easily. She is my baby.”
“Mhm. Of course not, wouldn’t dream of it.” Steve’s eyes are closed as he talks, nudging Eddie again but this time trying to roll him over. When he does finally turn onto his side, Steve scoots in quick to cuddle up to his back. It’s all warmth where their bodies connect, Steve attached like a shadow to Eddie so that he can keep cuddling with his whale shark. A kiss is pressed to the back of Eddie’s head and then Steve relaxes with a content sigh.
“G’night, Ed.” It doesn’t take long at all for sleep to take Eddie too.
Both boys doze off, hearts beating in time with the other.

Thank you @snowdepths for letting me use the line "if i were an octopus all three of my hearts would belong to you"!!
(Fun fact for this piece: I had 5 tabs open for different aquarium facts/layouts to try and make this accurate. 😅)

Okay this idea has been rotting my brain all night and i need to get it out; i may turn this into a full fic (there’s so much more to eddie and how he died), but here’s some paranormal romance steddie! (with a nod to the @azrielgreen -verse at the end 😉)
edit: i've started posting the full fic! on tumblr | on AO3
imagine ghost!eddie haunting the estate that was built overtop where his trailer had been
ghost!eddie becoming corporeal(ish) every halloween, letting his rage fuel the poltergeist rumors at the old estate.
the forest hills estate sits empty since being completed, until Steve Harrington moves in from Indianapolis.
Steve Harrington who uses the inheritance from his grandfather to fix up the old place, not knowing the rumors, the stories, that have been floating around the last nearly 40 years.
Steve, who ends up learning about them from a pack of young teens riding by the front gate on their bikes.
“You know that place is haunted as fuck, right?” says the red head.
“Language!” he scowls at her, only to get an eye roll from her and the gangly, greasy looking one. “And no, I didn’t know that. Is that why all my cabinets are open every morning when I wake up?” he asks. And they really had been, he kinda figured that there was something going on in that house but hadn’t felt threatened by whatever presence was there.
He relishes in their spooked faces.
“A girl died there and her boyfriend killed the guy who did it soon after.” the one with the high top fade said earnestly.
“Allegedly, Lucas! Allegedly!” this time it’s the one with the curly hair and cap. “He always thought it was him but there was literally a letter.”
“He could’ve faked it, Dustin!” the gangly one snarks at his friend.
“It’s not likely, handwriting forensics concluded it to be her handwriting.” oof, this kid desperately needs a haircut.
“POINT IS.” the red head yells over the boys. It must’ve been a regular occurrence though, as they all fall silent (or silent enough while still bickering). She turns back to an amused Steve, “He likes metal music. If you play it, I’m sure he’ll leave your cabinets alone.”
“He who? The ghost?”
She nods, “Yep!”
So he does, picks up some retro vinyl to play (along with playing some tracks from his phone over his speaker while he works on the house), figuring if the guy died in the 80s, he’d probably like the sound of them better.
He plays the music, finds he likes some of it, talks to this mystery ghost as he goes about the house finishing projects. Throws some classic rock on sometimes too, saying “Hey ghost man, I’m sorry but I can’t listen to this much metal at a time. Hope Zepplin is okay.”
ghost!eddie who will always use some of his ghostly persuasion over things to spin the vinyl backwards on the turntable during ‘Stairway to Heaven’.
Steve, who does some research and learns about his supposed ghost, yells in greeting as soon as he’s back from the library, “Hi, Eddie!! I’m home!” reveling in the swirls of cold air that spin around him in response along with just a ghost (hah) of a whispered “Hi, Stevie..” in his ear.
Steve and Eddie, who get closer and closer over the months, learning anything and everything about one another. Steve goes through a lot of paper in the first couple weeks, asking a question and waiting for the paper with ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ written on it to flutter in an unseen breeze. Which paper scribbled with a different color marker to fly up into his lap (Eddie’s favorite color is blue, Steve tells him his is yellow).
Steve, beginning to see the shadow of another person in the corner of his eye more often the not as the summer winds into fall and the repairs he needed done are wrapping up.
By September there’s no denying the figure he sees reaching a hand out to flick up the answer to a question, or the laughter he hears coming from it after a particularly bad joke.
The shadow is Eddie; and Steve is starting to make out details about his ghost.
The long fluffy hair, the slim waist, the dark eyes that pierce through shadow against the slowly brightening skin beneath.
Eddie, who realizes Steve must be able to see him and starts staying away more often then not, afraid of what he’d see in that beautiful face when he’s finally his old boring self again. Can’t bear to see that disappointment on the face of this man he’s come to care so much for (read: fully crushing on).
He retreats fully by mid September, sticking to the far less quantifiable shadows in the house and between the walls.
Steve still tries, bless him. Leaves questions all over the place, hoping to see them answered. Eddie does, every night, wanting Steve to know he’s still here.
A week later, “Eddie, I know you can hear me, can you make sure to answer this one as soon as you can? I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, but I figured we maybe show off our house—the house—now that everything’s done.”
‘Our house!! He said our house!!!’
Eddie looks at what his Steve left on the new kitchen counter that night.
“Halloween Party?” is scrawled on an open page of their now worn notebook.
Something hot floods his chest at that. Steve wanting to make sure he’s okay with that many people being here at once. Eddie knows damn well what the feeling is and he’s not about to waste his corporeal time this year, he’s going to do something with it besides wreaking havoc (on the house at least).
Halloween arrives, and many in the small town want a glimpse into the old estate. There are people everywhere, costumes and all.
Steve’s proud of all the hard work he’s done to the place but he still misses Eddie. Wishes he could be here to see what had become of the place he’d hated for so long. See it for real.
Halfway through the night is when it happens.
The party is in full swing, his ballroom full of people and music and food. His playlist changes over to Bowie.
Steve smiles to himself at the memory the song pulls forward. Still soon after learning about Eddie and staring their questions and answers thing, Steve had put on Labyrinth, laughing at how frantically the “i LOVED it!” paper had swirled around in the air after asking Eddie’s opinion.
A new face he hadn’t seen in the crowd before catches his eye. This man coming down the staircase is striking. Long, dark, curly hair is pulled back in a low ponytail, lean legs in off white pants, sparkling dark blue jacket, slim waist… He’s so gorgeous, so ethereal, he can’t be real.
Okay, nope, everyone else in the room is parting for this man. So, definitely real.
Steve stands as the man approaches, a hand extended. Keeping their eyes locked on each other, the man leads Steve by the hand to the center of the room.
The man smirks at Steve, still stunned, and arranges their arms. Then they’re dancing, swirling around the space the crowd created for them.
Steve feels like he’s floating.
He’s dancing to As The World Falls Down with a breathtaking man he now realizes is definitely dressed as the Jareth to his Sarah.
Steve finally finds his voice, “Hi..” It’s barely a whisper.
The man smirks, scoffs a laugh, but whispers back: “Hi Stevie.”
Steve’s brain screeches to a halt, and the man’s eyes sparkle with mischief (and a little bit of apprehension).
He can’t compute the information right away, frantically scrambling for a logical explanation. Some way for someone to know about Eddie enough to imitate him, to know about ‘Stevie’..but comes up with nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
“Eddie…is that really you?”
“Yeah, sweetheart, it’s really me.”
Eddie brings their foreheads together and they sway to the rest of the song, Eddie softly singing along.
The song ends and Steve pulls Eddie through the crowd and out into the garden.
His mind is still swirling, so he clings onto Eddie’s arms just as much as Eddie clings to his.
“Eddie—“
“Wait, Steve, let me..” Eddie clears his throat and explains everything. How he died, how long he spent his one night of reality trying to keep people away from where he and his best friend had died. “I don’t want to waste tonight, but I’m afraid if I—if I tell you how I feel about you…I will be complete. Done with my unfinished business and all that.”
“How do you know?”
Eddie chuckles. “The Moon.”
Steve now fully, painfully aware of how little remains of the night, how little time he may have with Eddie altogether, decides he doesn’t have time to unpack that. So he says “Kiss me. Eddie, please, kiss m—“
Eddie does, and the Moon smiles down on her beloveds.
