It's also just so serious bc you can seriously hurt yourself (speaking from experience of having a bad squat spotter sob) so the spotter being just so in tune to your physical limits and knowing the signs of fatigue. Catching the bar and helping you lift it back up with all the care in the world

i really adore the mutual trust going on here …. for squat especially. the spotter is trusting you not to dump the bar on them, and the lifter is trusting the spotter to properly aid them if they can’t get it up …
