Finally got around to watching Red vs Blue: Restoration. The final season after following it for 21 years.

And…wow. Wow, was that bad. Just…bad.

I didn’t think anything could be worse than Zero but…here we are.

I re-watched the entire series last year, and it was fun.

This wasn’t.

For me, The Shisno Trilogy will be what I consider the end.

Honestly they need to just reinvest the money that goes into the MET Gala into something else. Some sort of art initiative for the community or something. 5 people show up on theme, 10 people look nice, and the rest of them should’ve stayed home. Put the money into something else. As an art display it lacks every single year.

Wish (2023) Thoughts

Just watched Wish and... I think there were some really brilliant ideas in it, but the execution was very... off. If it was meant to feel like the classics they missed the mark by a lot. The pop songs are fine, in fact, I find them quite catchy. But they don't do the plot nor characters justice. They're far too ham fisted. I wish we could have learned more about Rosas. The cast did excellent with the material provided and I feel the animators went all out for the magic effects.. it's just a shame how much is left to be desired.

Asha is a great addition to the cast though they really needed to tone down her quirkiness because it felt very forced and definitely messed with the pacing at times. We get it. She's awkward. But she's also hopeful, and anxious, and protective, and kind, and a strong advocate for Rosas. She's a great role model and her hair is absolutely stunning. But I don't feel she's all that developed. Which is pretty much Wish in a nutshell but considering she's the protagonist it makes that more noticeable. I can't help but feel she could be a much, much stronger character outside of being a protagonist.

King Magnifico is an interesting villian considering his whole thing is control as a result of the great loss he experienced. Which, it's interesting how a story that emphasizes the trauma of losing parts of yourself kind of forgets about that aspect of his character. They just kind of go "oh no he's corrupted forever because he used it once" which makes things far less interesting. The corruption could have expanded on his darker aspects rather than just making him Generic Powerhungry Villian. Very strange.

I wish we could have seen how the people of Rosas were after their entire worldview was shaken up. I mean, they just discovered their beloved king was lying to them all for years. Decades. They unwillingly gave up parts of themselves with the impression there was a chance they would become something more. I don't know. Maybe it's nitpicky..

Wish needed a stronger cast. Everyone was pretty forgettable. My favorite Disney movies are the ones with memorable characters that leave an impression on me. And I just didn't get that with Wish. The visuals were pretty cool and the easter eggs were neat. But when people walk out of that theater, what are they going to remember about the story? About the characters?

It was disappointing. The story was lacking because the characters were lacking. It was okay, but it could have been so much better. I mean, this is a studio full of talented animators who have helped make incredible films. I know Disney can do better than this because they have before.

im so glad u like the blue ring octopus pac hc because it has become so incredibly canon to me. i cant stop picturing someone startling him and all his spots glowing blue as he turns around and also i think he would have venom it wouldnt be as potent and deadly as actual BRO venom but it would definitely paralyze u temporarily and make u a bit loopy and he would def have crevice dwelling instincts. ok sorry ive been going feral over this all day its so cute to me

I love all of the variations of creatures he can be but octopus are just SO cool....... I love those so much....... He's right at home in the little soulfire cave crevice I'd bet.
