it's so funny to me that after like… 2 years or so of dicking around on photoshop sporadically to make .gifs & do static photo edits, I'm like "hell yeah fuck yeah I got this, I am a WIZARD"

but because I never got around to doing the same for DRAWING digitally outside of ms fucking paint, I end up feeling like "graphic design is my passion 🐸" & being EXTREMELY impressed with basic warp/distortion effects to the point that I feel like an ape extra in the 2001 "thus spake zarathustra" obelisk scene

which is incredibly frustrating when you know how to do the thing you want to do in analog / "traditional" media, btw, especially when you also can't afford to do it that way, so you're stuck with either the starving artist feeling… or the plastic toddler safety scissors feeling.

anyway… we soldier on, y'all. stock ps brushes and confusion about gradients and all.

#i'm just like #those .gifs i posted today? unrecognizable from the base frames. they were dark and blue and desaturated and blurry. but i fixed 'em up!#meanwhile i struggled to get a true brown for a skintone right in a digital painting like i haven't struggled since ms paint 1997 #which is admittedly because since then i grew some damn SENSE and started using skintone palettes to eyedropper from #and i did not do that tonight bc i am miss sillypants #but like the juxtaposition…………#it pains me lmao i feel like a fourth grader doing a school presentation in imovie or sth when i only have a pc at home.
