#this is so. thinking about who achieves success. who covets more. who gets punished for hubris (not necessarily their own hubris)#bill achieved success through his own work. as Joe wants to do. and look where it got him#Laura was about as successful as a woman in Collinsport can be in the 1950’s dating game. and look what happened to her#and Burke has more success than anyone and he’s the least satisfied. other than vicki who perhaps has had the least success.
