Based on the "you're always dying" nightmare and the "obsessed w/ natural disasters"/"at least it wasn't a tsunami"/"they put me on these bloodthinners" signals of Eddie's trauma processing timeline, I think they're likely to talk about the well before the shooting. And of course, the shooting is important, but let's backtrack for a second.

Because not to downplay Buck climbing under firetruck but that was an actually somewhat logical save. He tried to CLAW THROUGH 40 FEET OF MUD WITH HIS BEAR HANDS AND HAD TO BE PULLED AWAY BEFORE COLLAPSING BACKWARDS BALLING IN BOBBY'S ARMS.

I really think we don't discuss THAT enough. And Buck and Eddie have, even in not having discussed it, actually talked about/acknowledged the shooting more than they've talked about the will. The only possible time I can think of is when Eddie had to, contextually, tell the story of when he changed his will.

And as much as I would love the "I knew what my life would look like without you. And it scared me" conversation soon with how much they've been hinting it recently, it's only been a year for that conversation.

It's been two for the well. And you don't understand, I NEED the "part of me knew I couldn't do anything but I dug anyway"/what it was like the FIRST TIME I even *conceptualized* the *idea* of losing you/"I wanted to go down to save you but Hen said she knew I would sacrifice myself and I couldn't argue with her" conversation.
