Can I just say that one of my favorite parts of the 457-dynamic in fandom is that usually In-ho’s big bad nefarious evil plan to convince Gi-hun to join his side is — to show that he loves him? That’s it. No frills, no nothing. He just worships the ground Gi-hun walks on.

And here’s the best part.

It works. Gi-hun is not a protagonist who’s above it all. He doesn’t turn his nose up at it. Even when he rejects In-ho, it’s not about whether he’s tempted or not, it’s about him being opposed to In-ho’s ideology. The man, for all his kindness, for all the way he freely gives affection, has probably never been treated like he’s worth something in his life. He’s so touch-starved, love-starved — that actually yeah, being in love with him is a strategy that works.

And the way it’s practically canon too. For example the part where In-ho slipped up and called Gi-hun by his name:

Do you know you’ve known this man for two days Gi-hun? Do you know you’re third-wheeling a room of four-hundred people? Oh my god get it together!

Honestly it’s downright diabolical. They are soulmate-coded and I eat it up.

Your eyes slowly open as the bright mornng sun shines through the blinds. Carefully moving the blanket aside, you try to gett up out of the bed. Before you could fully get off however, you felt a harsh tug at your shirt.

Looking aside, you see your boyfriend, tugging at your shirt in his weak sleepy state.

"mhmmm stay here-"

he mumbled, trying his hardest to keep his eyes open despite him being extremley tired. Smiling, you gently remove his hand from your shirt, trying to explain, that you have to make breakfast.

"mmhm- no-"

"c'mon hunnie, i have to make breakfast for us, we can cuddle in just a minute"

The eggs sizzling, you add a little bit of pepper, since you know how neither of you like pepper very much. In the other frying pan, you were cooking french toast. This was your boyfriends favourite breakfast, and you couldn't deny him his favourite meal. You love how when he eats, he munches like a hamster. You find those adorable hamster cheeks so cute, it makes your heart melt.

Your boyfriend mumbled as you saw him walk out of the bedroom, directly walking towards you.

- okay so he's the type of guy where you wouldn't even need to say anything

- he's a smart man, and i feel he would know after some time

- he would just start doing small things to help here and there

- In-Ho has a very stressful and nerve wracking job, especially when it comes to watching the games themselves

- so to start, if he saw watching them made you anxious, he would just pull you closer to him and turn you to talk to him, making sure you didn't look at the screen

- he had to watch them, it was his job, but you didn't

- so he would talk to you, thumb softly stroking your shoulder, glancing to the screen every now and then before directing his attention back to you

- he's not a talkative man either, so a lot of his calming would be through touch, having you sit in his lap, or holding your hand

- i feel like if you hyper fixate, he would silently adore that

- like after a long day, he would love to come back to his suite to hear your latest interest, just smiling at you while holding your fidgety hand

- he just loves you and he'd do anything to accommodate your needs

Jun-Ho

- he would be the one who's most understanding

- since he's younger than the others, he's kind of grown up in a generation used to mental health and how to handle it

- he understands that everyone's different and would learn more about how it effects you so he can cater to your needs

- in public, he would always be holding your hand, to ground you and also just let you know he's there

- if you need to stay in for a breather one day, he'll stay in too as long as he's not needed at work

- Jun-Ho strikes me as someone who may also have adhd, i'm not sure why

Gi-hun was once married to a woman, so he knows exactly the pain and discomfort you feel at this specific time of the month

This man is extremely patient with his s/o, and he would do anything to make them feel better (in this case, you), even if that means he has to put up with your bad mood in the calmest and most understandable way possible

You feel really bad for screaming at him (if that ever happens), because you know he wouldn't scream back at you: he just swallows his hurt feelings in silence, in order to not stress you out even more than you already are

In those moments, you sincerely apologize to him, only for him to smile at you with nothing but pure love and understanding shining through his lovely brown eyes

"Don't worry, my love. I understand that you're feeling more sensitive than usual, but I'm here for you, ok?" he would reassure you with the right words before kissing you softly and cuddling with you

Whenever you run out of tampons or pads, he immediately goes outside to buy you lots and lots of hygiene products, even if he doesn't have much money with him

"Honey, I'm back!" he excitedly said, before opening your bathroom door. You two are so comfortable with each other's presence and have so much intimacy, that at this point you didn't mind him opening your bathroom door while you were in there. If you have painful cramps on your period, Gi-Hun will be running to you to help you feel better in a second: he will hug you tight, kiss you, cuddle you, grab something for you to eat or drink, or put his most comfortable bed sheets on top of you to make you feel warm... he will definitely take very good care of you

If he has to work that day, he will let you dress his baggy clothes, so you can smell his scent and somehow feel his presence while he isn't physically by your side

And don't you dare to try to convince him that you are fine when you aren't: he knows you too well and hates when you lie to him just to make him feel better

He will watch your favorite movies and listen to your favorite songs with you, while eating delicious snacks and making comments about it, showing you that he's really interested in your tastes... he will even dance and make silly faces for you without any shame just to make you laugh

But once you groaned in pain because he made you laugh too hard, his smile would instantly drop and he would come running to you, begging you to apologize him for hurting you

1. Hell

my thoughts: it was a fun fic to write! after watching squid game, i really wanted to write something to contribute to the fandom with something. i don’t think the sangwoo and gihun dynamic gets talked enough about, which is a damn shame bc i think the way they turned into childhood friends, to strangers, to enemies is so interesting! but all in all, again, it was fun to write!

my readers’ thoughts: its not as popular as my sherlock or hobbit fics, but i think people liked it! a lovely commenter under the name of Glowstar826 left this sweet comment that they thought the character study was fascinating! i think that comment motivated me to post more works on ao3.

2. he reeks of gifted kid burnout

my thoughts: i really needed to vent in a fic, and i didnt really see any discussion about the gifted kid burnout that sangwoo obviously been through. so, combined, it was really just a fic that i didnt intend for anyone to read.

my readers’ thoughts: this one got lot more kudos than my other squid game fic, and a lot more than i thought it would get. i got a sweet comment saying that the fic helped them connect even more with sangwoo, and gained a whole new appreciation for the character. which… really melted my heart 😭 i really wasnt expecting that

3. Walk Away

my thoughts: a plot bunny that has been in my head for the longest time. i found it in my google docs, unfinished, and i wanted to rewrite! in the fics where john takes the fall, he never assumed the role of moriarty as sherlock did, when i feel like he would have been the best person beside sherlock to take the fall for moriarty. it would have made sense, and i think thats was what made that specific plot bunny so compelling

my readers’ thoughts: they liked it! it was one of the fics that got a lot of kudos, and i got a comment that they were looking for fics for that specific prompt. so im glad i was able to fill that specific demand!

4. Where The Heart Is

my thoughts: literally my baby. its probably the longest and biggest fic that i have committed to, and after a year, i am only almost a 3/4 of the way done. i am so determined to finish it, and let it end on a wonderful end!!

my readers’ thoughts: this is my most popular fic! everyone in the comments are so amazing and awesome and actually, when people tell me that they cried i was like “… oops, i didnt think i could do that 😭” so thank yall for commenting! it really motivates me and warms my heart to think my writing could make everyone feel sm!

5. In the Same Breath

my thoughts: writing style wise, this is my favorite fic. it was so much fun to write, as i love writing pretty/purple prose. i discovered the draft a year after i wrote it unfinished, and so i decided to finish it!

1 - Bad Blood

My Thoughts: This one is way bigger than I meant it to be! It was going to be about 5k words and the only scene I had in my head was Bilbo biting the elven guard, haha! Readers: People really seem to love this one! I feel like feral Bilbo is always a crowd-pleaser, and this fic got much more attention than I ever expected it to! - 2 - Soldier My Thoughts: I'm really proud of this one. It was my first bagginshield fic, and it was after a loooong break from writing. Even though it's a bit weak in places, I have such a soft spot for it. Readers: I ended up re-posting this one after some harassment kicked my confidence down the toilet, but since then the reception has been very positive! - 3 - Poet My Thoughts: I'm sorry to say it, but this is probably my least favourite fic I've written. If it wasn't so popular I'd have removed it and altered the end of Soldier so it was just one fic! Readers: This fic seems to be very popular, and was the first time someone made art of my work - and more than once! I remember posting the first chapter and not expecting very much, only to come onto tumblr and see random posts where folks were super excited to see it was updating! It was such a lovely feeling! - 4 - My Ego Dies My Thoughts: I genuinely love this one, I think it's probably my personal favourite. I really enjoy playing about with the idea of "forgiveness" between Bilbo and Thorin, and this fic really scratched a particular itch for me! Readers: Probably my least popular fic - statistically, at least! I've found most folk weren't into it for one reason or another, but the people who love it, really, really love it! -

5 - Stealing Moments, Moments Away My Thoughts: I wish I'd taken more time with this one in some ways, but in others it really is the reshirement fic I wanted to tell. Again, I got to tinker with that "forgiveness" trope, and have a good look at what survival might realistically have meant for Thorin. Readers: This one is a quick read, and it's soft and fluffy, so I think readers enjoy it for that reason, though I believe some found it a bit boring. It was being updated almost daily, and the folks who were invested came back to comment and read practically every time I updated, which was just amazing to me! - 6 - Backs To The Wall (Sorry, I've written six, so I wanted to do all of them!) My Thoughts: I wrote this because it was something I wanted to read, and couldn't find. It's been amazingly fun, and I told myself when I started (knowing it was going to be fairly long - even if I didn't realise quite how long at the time, haha) that I wasn't going to take it too seriously, and I was really only writing this for myself, as the most self-indulgent kind of nonsense, ever! Readers: I can't begin to tell you how utterly blown away by the response to this I've been. Like?? It's just crazy to me how much folks are enjoying this, how excited and supportive everyone has been! oooh i have an au idea... this time inho is the one with unfortunate circumstances. inho didn't grow up in a very rich household but they were living a good life, never worrying about food on the table or paying bills. but inho got caught up in a job scam, and in the blink of an eye he lost everything. his wife died because of the stress it caused her. inho decided to leave his family, he just couldn't face junho or his mom anymore.

now he's living out in the streets, trying to get his life back together. scraping anything he can find to pay off debt or just have something to eat. not everyone outside is kind to him, but he knows how to defend himself or stare with an icy look that'll make any person who wants to start trouble to retreat. he wonders if there is any kindness left in the world...

one rainy day he was feeling tired, exhaused, terrible, and numb to it all. inho felt like no matter how hard he tried, he will never get out of this hell called life. he slips on the wet sidewalk and falls on his back, the food given by the shelter now on the ground. dozens of soju bottles shattered around. inho doesn't know if he wants to lay there forever and just die, or scream, or sob. "gods of the heavens and the earth... please help. show mercy..." he muttered as a last resort. he was never a big believer, however right now he was desperate.

footsteps could be heard, someone was running towards him. "oh goodness me, are you alright? sir?" suddenly the raindrops stopped falling on his face. ah, it's because of the umbrella the man was holding. "here, let me help you up!" the man said, worried about him. inho gets a better look at him as he gets up. a really goodlooking man with a black suit and slicked back hair. he has a sweet smile, so sweet that inho thought he'd get cavities just by staring at him. the man's eyes were genuine, very warm, and kind. why does he care so much about him?

"it's raining cats and dogs today, whew! i'm so sorry you had to experience that fall and losing your stuff on the ground here." why was the man apologising like it was his fault? granted, inho feels his heart melt because of the compassion in his voice. "i'm the hotel manager, the building is just around the corner here! looks like the rain is not going to stop soon, and we have a spare room you can stay in if you'd like. my boss doesn't approve when i do things like this, but we're already making enough money as it is and i firmly believe that nobody should be refused a roof over their heads!"

wow, on top of everything the man is very chatty and friendly. too friendly, in fact. "it's about egality, you know! or what was the word? it's not in english... i think it was french. but anywho!" alright, so he's a little goofy and isn't afraid to be whimsical. much different from all the other polished men in suits. "you don't have to stay here in the rain. i simply wish to help. everything is going to be okay, i promise." the man smiled again, his eyes scrunching slightly. inho already decided to die for him or kill for him if it ever came down to that.

"my name is seong gihun. what's yours?"

gihun once again showing inho that people are good and humanity isn't doomed 😭😭😭

It's been a hard day at work, however you very extremely excited for your wedding anniversary.

You have been married to the sweetest, most caring, charming and sexiest man alive, for three years now.

It was hard to believe, but true.

You remember the day you met, as if it was just yesterday.

It's just been two weeks since you moved to Seoul. You've heard of the fantastic libraries within the proud and welcoming city, so you wanted to check them out.

Walking through seemingly endless Iles, you bump into a man.

You quickly apologized, before looking up into his eyes.

Deep brown eyes, clean shaved beard, long black curls, a bit older and extraordinary wide shoulders.

That, is when you met seong gi-hun.

The rest, is history. Now your happily married. Of course you argue occasionally, but you can't stay angry at eachother. Not for long.

"hey darling-"

Gihun pulled you in for a warm hug after you entered your shared apartment. Quickly pulling away, he let you hang your jacket up and put away your shoes. "hey- are you hungry?"

You nodded, you haven't eaten at all that day... Gi-hun's eyes lit up, as he smiled widely. "I cooked for us-"

Your heart melted at that, his adorable smile as he brought you to the dining table, giving you a fair portion of your favorite meal. (insert favourite meal)

"that's not all-" gi-hun said in his usual deep, yet cheerful tone as he grabbed two wine glasses. Placing one next to each plate, and carefully (but generously) poured in some sweet 'n dry red wine from Italy.

Carefully blacking a bouquet of roses in a pot, then placing it in the center of the wooden dining table, adding two white candles in their silver tins.

He grabbed his blue lighter, and nearly burnt himself trying to light the candles. He laughed it off to calm your worry.

"gihun-?"

He looked up with his adorable brown eyes, whilst chewing his food.

"thabk you-"

You mumbled with a wide smile, taking a bite of you meal hungrily. "y/n-"

Gihun sat silent for a quick minute.

"you food won't run away-" he said nearly dying from laughter. He was right-. "ha-alright but I'm just hungry"

You did find it funny indeed, but you just wanted some food-

"i understand sweetheart, I'm just teasing"

The slight wrinkles around his eyes were charming and sweet as he laughed innocently. God-he was just the best person ever. Wasn't he?

"darling?"

You looked up to see him waving his hand in front of your face. You blinked a few times, shit... Daydreaming.

"you seemed distant- everything alright?" he asked with visible concern in his eyes.

You laughed nervously,

"I'm distracted tired I guess-"

"by what y/n?"

Ohh he knew damn well, you played this game WAY to often. He just wanted to hear the sweet words from your lips-

Something flickered behind his eyes, as a smirk speared across his lips.

"later, my love-"

He said, the words directly hitting your heart, and core. He realized, and laughed again.

Gi-hun's hands rested in his thighs, he moved the chair to the side, giving you access to his lap.

He clapped his hands on his thighs, before you took that as permission to sit, sit right on his lap.

His large hands resting on your waist, preventing you from falling.

The passionate kiss from you lips, traveling down you neck, occasionally biting down carefully.

He stilled the pain by licking over the bruises.

"gihun-"

You quietly moaned. Moving yout neck to the side, giving him easier access.

"happy 3 years baby-"

He mumbled into the crease of your next.

"I love you so-- much-"

You responded. His hands still resting on your waist, he removes his lips from your neck. Now his chocolate brown eyes stared deep into yours.

"let's take this somewhere else-"

He said with a devilish smirk.

Her grumpy and distant expression melted slightly when she heard that Meredith was also from some place else. Since forever, Saebyeok had been lonely and feeling like an outsider. In a place where everyone else knew their place, she had just drifted around and trying to get by. But it was all in the past now. While these kind of things would probably always stay with Saebyeok, behind her strong walls and protected heart, a woman felt like she was finally ready to start building her own life. Even though the details might had been different, meeting someone who knew how it felt to be an outsider was enough to woke up her curiosity. There was no reason to hide her lack of knowledge around this person. Much like Gihun but for different reasons, Meredith wouldn't judge or consider her weird. A grumpiness shifted and made room for much more neutral and calm expression. Saebyeok offered amused little huff. "Yeah, these movies are not very action packed. More like full of fake snow, weird people, unrealistically massive family houses and... very good looking food." She decided to end her list with a one positive thing, rather than continuing it with more things she found weird and occasionally annoying. "The ending is always happy. Someone learns a lesson about life, love or family and a choir sings in the background." Part of her was also a little jealous of how people in the movies had it all.

"I get it. At least some of it. I come from a place with no movies or Christmas," she confessed with a soft smile, a tender look illuminating her features. Meredith was an alien on Earth, yet she craved the very same escapism and joy that these stories could provide. The contrast between her home planet - absurdly outdated in comparison to Earth - and the vibrant, chaotic beauty of human cinema painted a striking picture.

"When I got the chance, I drowned myself in movies," she continued, her voice tinged with both excitement and a hint of sorrow, as if she were reminiscing about lost moments. The flickering images and sweeping narratives had become her refuge, each film a thread weaving her closer to the lives and emotions of those around her. It was as if, through these stories, she could grasp a piece of what it meant to be truly human. Normally, such revelations would have pricked at her insecurities, creating a ripple of doubt. But not this time, since on this regard they were the same so there was no reason to be embarrassed this time. Meredith felt a wave of comfort wash over her, knowing that their experiences, though different, were tied together in the universal language of emotion. "As for your question", she continued, her eyes dancing with enthusiasm. "I do like most of them. I'm mostly a happy person and very emotional, so those kinds of movies really speak to me. Some are a bit too slow-paced, though", she giggled.
