Three weeks
Short little drabble, I hope you enjoy this as much as I didn't. Love you though, don't have fun <3
Lesson 16 spoilers ahead (warnings below cut for people who don't want the spoilers)
Warnings: Angst. Heavy angst. Angry Satan, delusions, grief, timeline where MC is super dead, all caps because this is a drabble and not a fic and I wrote this at 6 in the morning and could give less of a shit about grammar or whatever
Brief: Mammon convinces himself that MC is alive and it causes drama
Word count: 1.2K
Three weeks since MC’s death.
Three weeks since the youngest of the demon brothers strangled MC to death. Since Mammon saw his human’s corpse laying on the floor, their throat mangled with claw marks marring their beautiful skin. Belphie’s tail had left harsh lines on their legs, and the blood coating his youngest brother’s fingers were telling of the pain they’d endured before they’d died.
Belphegor. The same, sweet, sleepy, brother, he’d taken to the amusement park with Beelzebub all those years ago. The same brother who innocently fell asleep in his soup every other night at dinner. Who he watched grow up.
MC. The same human who arrived in the Devildom from an exchange student program that Diavolo had arranged. The human who won his heart the first few days they were there, who made a pact with him. He was their first man.
His heart was crushed. He wanted to blame anyone else but Belphie, but anger overwhelmed him. How dare he rip MC from his grasp?
Every morning he woke up expecting them to respond to something from the silly little house of Lamentation group chat. He would burst into their room to see nothing. Their bed still messy from the last morning they’d woken up from.
To help with the hole in his heart, he began to impersonate them, he made a group chat with himself, using a spare phone and creating another contact with their name. He would talk back and forth with himself while crying, trying to think of how they would respond to certain things.
What he would give to have them of all people call him stupid again.
Eventually, though, things began to return to normal for him. Everyone else still grieved, Belphegor was still locked in the dungeon, everyone was depressed, but he started to seem happier, as if nothing had ever happened.
All of the brothers had taken at little time off from school, absolutely devastated after what had happened, so everyone just stayed in their room most of the day aside from meal time.
It was breakfast one morning, not a word was spoken as everybody picked at their food, even Beel was less ferocious than usual.
None of them could ignore the fact that Mammon was filling up a second plate. He was pouring another glass of MC’s favorite juice. He set it at the place beside himself, humming softly as he ate a little bit of egg.
Lucifer raised a brow, sipping on a hot cup of coffee. “Hungry today, Mammon?”
“Yep!” He ignored Lucifer’s implication.
“Mammon, move your other plate.” Leviathan had emerged from his room, the circles and bags beneath his eyes darker than normal.
“Get your own spot! MC’s gonna sit here!” Mammon huffed. “Damn otaku, you don’t get to boss me around.” He grumbled, stuffing another forkful of food into his mouth.
The room went dead silent. Nobody took another bite aside from Mammon, all of them just staring at him in sad astonishment.
Asmo’s lip quivered as he looked away, the sound of their name scraping against his ear drums like nails on a chalkboard.
“Mammon. Just move it.” Levi sighed, his heart heavy in his chest as he tried not to think of them, of their last moments together.
“No!” He snapped, forcefully putting his silverware down. “I’m sick of you all acting like MC doesn’t exist! How many damn times do I gotta tell you all?! They’re tired, they said they’ll be down in a minute!”
Lucifer couldn’t help but notice the white-knuckle grip Satan had on his fork, his hand shaking, jittering the table space around him, his glass of milk sloshing around in its cup.
The first born shook his head, glaring at Mammon. “Mammon, be quiet!” he scolded.
“Like you’re one to talk! You never knock to check up on them! They’d probably appreciate it if you at least acted like you care! -”
The Avatar of Greed was cut off by Satan, whose snout was wrinkled into an ugly sneer. He stabbed his fork into the table, standing to his feet and knocking his chair over. Angry tears flowed from his eyes, his face red. “MAMMON YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!” He screamed, his other hand gripping the table so hard his nails left marks in it.
“You get their name out of your lying-” he put one foot on the table, standing on top of it. “-Dirty-” he took a step closer, stomping on a plate of waffles “-slimy-” another step “-disgusting-” he tipped over a pitcher of juice with his foot, spilling it over Asmo’s lap, who broke out into sobs “-unworthy mouth!” He hopped off the edge of the table, now standing menacingly a few feet away from Mammon, who remained in his seat.
The second born said nothing.
“So now you’re playing the quiet game because I’m angry, hm?” Satan seethed out. He saw nothing but red, his whole body hot with rage.
“...No... I just don’t get why you all don’t like them so much! They’re nice when you get to know ‘em!” He stood up, taking a few hesitated steps backward.
“Are you crazy?! MC’s dead! They’re just fucking dead! And you need to stop living in your own goddamned dream land and wake the hell up and smell the roses!” Satan stalked toward him.
“Satan.” Beelzebub stood up, a sad look in his eyes. He knew when it came down to it, he would have to restrain the middle child, but he wasn’t up to it, especially not today.
Both brothers were already in their demon form, a low growl emitting from Satan’s throat. “Shut up, Beel.”
“Satan.” Beel repeated, now shifting into his demon form.
“Don’t ‘Satan’ me! How do we know you don’t think like him? Like that excuse for an avatar?!” The blonde whirled around to glower at the glutton. “How do we know you didn’t help him? What If you wanted them dead all along, too?”
“Don’t talk about Belphie like that. He was just...”
“HE WAS JUST WHAT, BEEL?” Satan’s voice shook as he screamed. “JUST A MONSTER? JUST... JUST A DUMBASS WHO KNOWS NO BOUNDS?!”
“I SAID DON’T TALK ABOUT MY BROTHER LIKE THAT!” Beel was now shouting back, his deep voice booming, the pain obvious as his tone was uneven.
“You threatened to kill them when you and Lucifer swapped bodies, Satan!” Asmo sobbed “don’t at like you’re so perfect!”
“Yes, Asmo. I did threaten to kill them. But I didn’t actually strangle them! I didn’t look at them and go ‘I should strangle this person who has done nothing but help me’. MC helped Belphegor and that heathen responded to them with nothing but violence!”
“THAT’S ENOUGH! All of you, settle down! Mammon, MC is gone, there is nothing we can do about it!” Lucifer unleashed his demon form, his silky black wings unfurling behind him.
“AND YOU! NONE OF THIS WOULD’VE FUCKING HAPPENED IF YOU DIDN’T CHOOSE THE WORST TIME TO PUT US OVER DIAVOLO! Of all of the times, we needed you, Lucifer! All the shit you’ve kept from us, all for Diavolo, you decide to lie to us through your stupid teeth just to try and protect Belphie?! And you both chose to house MC here when you knew there was a homicidal maniac in the attic?!”

Neron ‘Creeper” Vargas x Reader
Words: not sure I wrote it through my phone But this ended up being a lot longer then I thought it would be.
Warnings: Swearing, Smut, Oral female receiving, mention of male receiving, usage of toys, fingering, slight bondage.
A/N: its been a long ass time since I wrote something let along smut, but I got inspiration about Creeper while I was watching Mayan’s the last two days. So to say that I am nervous is beyond an understatement. I love comments, criticism good and bad and what I can do better. So I hope you enjoy.

Dom should have been his nickname short for Dominate! Because that is what Neron 'Creeper' was in every sense of the meaning and word!  As much as he tried to hide it but you knew as soon as you met him just the way he talked, the way he carried himself and you were bound to not only be his girlfriend but his sub who would like to push every single god damn button he had.... which is why you were in you current situation.
You had met Creeper 6 months ago at at one of the Mayan's club house parties you came with a couple of girlfriends you stood out from the crowd in more ways then one. While your friends wore dark blues and black you wore a neon green mini dress with a black leather jacket. Your laugh was loud which made him smirk every time he heard your laugh. You noticed him staring at you an hour after you got there and as much as you wanted to go talk to him you were pretty shy and wanted him to approach you, but he never he just watched you.
Then two weeks later he finally introduced himself and when he said his name was Neron but everyone calls him Creeper, "well that makes sense now" you thought to yourself. Then a couple weeks later one of your friends bet Angel that she could bet him at pool, which he lost and was a spoiled sport about. Creeper said he could beat anyone which made you Ha! out loud and he asked you to play which you accepted but made the bet not about money "if I win you have to take me out on a date!" You wagered, he nodded and said "sounds good, but if I win you have to suck my dick!" You acted shocked but very turned on while your friends "ooohhh!" You acted like you had no idea what you were doing, he got a couple balls and he got cocky saying things like "I cannot wait to feel your beautiful mouth around my dick" or "I cannot wait to fuck your mouth" then you turned and looked at him and gave him  a sinful smile and sunk every single one of your balls and Creeper stood there shocked and your friend laughed and said "I have known Y/N for almost 20 years she has never lost a game of pool!” You laugh as you put the cue stick down and said "I will see you at 7 tomorrow"
That was 3 months ago you started dating Creeper shortly after that night. It didn’t take long for you to notice he was holding back a little in the bedroom you could tell he wanted to do more then tap your ass (it literally felt a little harder then a tap) and grip your hair. You wanted him to choke you, pull your hair, slap and grip your ass, mark you. Little did you know in the beginning that all you needed to do was push some buttons and not listen when he told you to stop something. It happened when you at a club house party and EZ was behind the bar and you were being friendly with him Creeper saw it as you were flirting, and when he came up behind you and had his hand on your ass and whispered for you to stop flirting, you rolled your eyes and scoffed at him saying you weren’t flirting and went back to your conversation with EZ. Creeper gave him a look that you didn’t see and EZ excused himself. Creeper gripped your ass hard which cause you to jump a little and slap your hands on the bar and grip your nails in the wood, he told you again to stop with a smirk on his face and walked away.
You stood there shocked for a minute before you recovered and finally knew what you needed to do to get him to finally bring his dominate side out. You had to push his buttons and best believe you would. You put your plan into motion the next day it started with small touches while you talked to other guys, being very friendly with them, three days later Creeper was tense and moody. On the fourth day you text Creeper that you were going shopping
Me: Hey babe hope things are good, about to go shopping at [sex shop store name] to get a new toy
Creeper: WHY?????
Me: Why not? Need something when you are not at home or on the road.
Creeper: That should be a given no toys allowed!
Me: Oh such a shame that I don’t wanna listen
Creeper: You come home with a toy and you will regret it!!
Me: I am calling bullshit, You won’t do shit!
Creeper: Woman try me and see
Me: Aren’t they Beautiful the purple one has thirty different speeds and the little one seemed fun it can be controlled by your phone :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Creeper: Woman you just wait tell I get home.
Me: Pfft, OH OK (insert smart ass tone) off to my next stop. [Lingerie store] which I won’t show you later
What you bought***
Tumblr media
Creeper was on edge because he kept messaging asking what you bought and you ignored him which pissed him off even more. You finished shopping 2 hours before Creeper got home, you used his hide-a-key to let yourself in and got the toys out of their boxes washed and now they are charging, you hoped into the shower and got ready, you decided to go for your favourite black dress. Little did you know you probably should have gone with your least favourite dress.
You were in his bedroom when you heard the front door open and slam you gasped when you heard the door, Creeper shouted out “Woman where are you!” instantly you were very shy and very intimidated you have never heard his voice like that, but this is what you wanted, needed. Creeper walked into the room, he had rope in his hand and you didn’t even have a chance to get yourself into a “sexy postion” you were stood there with the egg in your hand and looked like a deer in headlights. But to Creeper you looked just as beautiful, he walked over to you tossed the rope on the bed and took the egg from your hand and looked over it, he had did his research during the day and downloaded the app for the egg he just needed to scan the code and get it hooked up.
He looked at you and told you to “strip out of your dress” you looked at home for a second before he raised his voice and said “Now!” you finally found your voice you smirk and said “Make me” Creeper rolled his eyes at you and grabbed your throat, you moaned out so loud “if you wanted me to dominate you, all you had to do was ask, not be a pain in my ass” Creeper said. He kissed you roughly while his hand was still on your throat his other hand when up your side to the top of your dress right breast then while still kissing you his other hand left your neck and met with his other hand ripped your dress right down the middle, you pulled back and said “that was my favourite black dress!” Creeper isn’t even looking you in the face he is too occupied with your lingerie set, “this is going to be my absolute favourite set, and I wanna promise I won’t rip it off of you but I cannot” he says. He picked you up and tossed you on the bed and got on top of you and said “you going to be able to keep your hands to yourself or am I gonna have to tie your hands.... never mind you like touching so tying your hands it is.” he ties your hands to his headboard.
You moaned “please Neron, please for the love of god please mark me, choke me, spank me, own me.... Please sir.” You opened your legs wider and you could feel his hard on through his jeans. Creeper felt like he was going to explode from you calling him Sir, and said “keep calling me that”. He started kissing down your jaw down to your neck and sucked some bruises on your neck, he moved down to your breast and left some bite marks and reached over to the nightstand table and grabbed a bottle of lube and continued kissing down your stomach and hips and leaving more bruises and bite marks.
He bit your mound and grabbed the egg from his pocket then pulled your thong to the side and licked from your opening up to your clit you moaned and begged for more but he pulled away and grabbed the lube and added some to the egg and to you and started to push the egg in you tensed a little bit “relax baby” Creeper moaned to you, he got the egg in and pulled away from you and grabbed his phone and chair and took a seat and the edge of the bed then turned the egg on the lowest setting and instantly your legs closed and you moaned “sir!!!” his voice boomed “open your legs!” after a couple of breaths you managed to open them again, but they closed again the moment he upped the vibrations a couple notches. He huffed and got up and walked to the closet “where are you going? Sir please don’t leave” you whined.
Creeper walked back in with a bar with cuffs on the end and walked back over to you he says “sorry” and rips your thong off and kisses your knees and your first orgasm hits you, then pushes your legs apart and attaches the bar to your ankles and opens the bar a bit so you cannot close your legs. Then returns to the chair and continues to up then lower the vibe until you cum two more times. Then he gets up removes his clothes grabs the 30 speed vibrator that you bought today and removes the spreader bar set the vibe to medium and brings two fingers to your clit and you jump and moan.
Creeper moved his fingers down to your opening and brought his face down to your core and inserted his fingers the same time he attached his mouth to your clit and swirled, flicked, pressed his tongue to you clit and moaned at the taste of your juices he slowly moved his fingers in and out of you. You moaned that you were about to cum he says “cum on my face, wet my beard” you cum hard and lose your breath for a couple seconds. Creeper moves up your body to your covered breast he pulls down the cups to revel your nipples and while he starts sucking on your nipples his fingers were still moving in and out of you. He kisses you once he pulls his fingers from you and puts them in your mouth and you suck them clean and moan around them, then he moves to his knees and slams into you and gives you half a second to adjust to him before he starts thrusting, you can feel yourself getting close and tell him you need to cum, he says “no not yet, hold it for me” you try and manage to breath a little then shriek when you feel the purple vibrator attach to your clit and start to pull on the ropes and beg “Neron Please please untie my wrist please Oh Dear God PLese!!!!!!” Creeper leans over and unties your hands and one instantly goes to his wrist with the vibrator on your clit to ground yourself and the other hand went to the one on your stomach and you laced your fingers with his and you are chanting his name and begging to cum.
He tosses the purple vibe pulls out just long enough to pull the vibe out and tosses that as well then pushes back into and drops down to your face and grips your neck and your hair and kisses the air out of your lugs then bites your lower lips and says “I need you to cum, baby cum for me, cum now” he is thrusting his hips so hard then you cum hard so hard that you grip Creeper so hard that he cannot pullout, he loves cumming inside you so he isn’t concerned he cums, and again tries to pullout and again he cannot he looks at you and you look so fucked out he kisses your lips and cheeks, forehead. “Can you lay down on me please, you won’t crush me and clearly she is not ready to let you go just yet” you say. He lays down and snuggles close with you and says “I love you”  you smile and rub his head and say “I love you too”
The End

Jordan sometimes creeps me out in TNA. when I'm reading the chapter I'll like him and think he's really sweet and so on but then I'll just see a random screenshot of one of his lines that someone has posted on tumblr and out of context it will seem really creepy. such as the line in the chapter just dropped where he says something like "I can't wait to show you off to the world". like in the scene it seems sweet but out of context I realise it's sooo creepy like has he been recording it or something?! is he gonna turn nasty? especially with the narrative line straight after which says something like there's something off about his earnestness as if he's manipulating her. theres definitely something else going on with him
Hey, anon! *big ol hugs* Thank you so much for your ask!
I think PB needs lessons in subtlety. lol
Truthfully speaking, Jordan is a sweetheart. If you were just to read HIS/HER lines and nothing else, no one would suspect a thing. He's a young gentleman/lady that loves children, has a quirky sense of humor and is a very innocent 22-23 year old with a massive crush on MC.
BUT... he's got some strikes against him that make fans go over-the-top, calling him creepy.
We were told before the book ever started that there was going to be a new nanny. Since the book is called "The Nanny Affair", many fans (including myself) assumed that someone, either MC or Sam, would have another opportunity of an affair with the nanny. *SHAMELESS PLUG* I wrote about Sam having an affinity for nannies, so I was personally cheering for that to happen so the MC would finally leave him. lol
Anyway, when we discovered that the nanny was gender specific, most readers then assumed MC would be having the affair. So immediately, we sized up Jordan... f!Jordan is beautiful. m!Jordan is cute in his own right, but his face is YOUNG, and lets face it: he's not Sam Dalton.
Instantly readers made fun of Jordan, so anytime Jordan was awkward around us (LIKE NONE OF US HAVE NEVER BEEN AWKWARD AROUND A BEAUTIFUL CRUSH), everyone resorts to, "Oh! He's so cReEpY! EwWw!"
Another thing that eggs on the "creep" factor is exactly what you mentioned: those little hints PB throws in there. He might brush his hand against MC's, and a little blurb pops up that says, "You shudder, feeling like that touched meant more"--something like that. And again, everyone resorts to, "Oh! He's so cReEpY! EwWw!"
This kid clearly just wants to kiss MC because he is in love with her. He still thinks he is behind the jungle gym at recess. Even in last chapter, he mentions several times that he wants to kiss her. KISS her. He wasn't, "CaN i FuCk YoU nOw?!" No, he clearly acts very respectful of MC.
MC, who JUST broke up with Sam spontaneously 20 minutes ago for her own insecurities with their relationship (which cracks me up because while I hate that he has to keep her hidden, he spends every possible moment INSIDE her one way or another... girl, he wants your platinum pussy! Stop worrying so damn much! Plus this poor sap wasn't even given a chance to speak, let alone think about what the hell she was spiraling about!), is the one that made everything creepy. She was instantly wiping her vaginal secretions in his mouth (yes, I said vaginal secretions because there was NOTHING sexy about that scene LOL). She coaxed him into telling her how he gets hard for her and how he thinks about her when he's alone. She mounts him, taking off her clothes. I mean.. c'mon...
Literally this poor guy has a crush, and MC is taking advantage of it... Let's talk about what truly is creepy...
BUUUUUUUUUT I agree with you. We know he is somehow tied to a plan, either with Robin or Sofia (or both), and that's the only thing that makes him "creepy"; like, no doubt, he's going to end up a bad guy.*sigh* I'm not saying he's innocent of his crimes against our perfect power couple (LOL), but still, I don't think he's that creepy.
Here's a really random thought: what if Sam Dalton was ugly? Closer to his/her 50s than his/her 40s? no 6 pack/gorgeous curves? No 'just the right size' dick/platinum pussy? If he/she was giving you or me those sultry bedroom eyes during our nanny interview, he/she would've been dubbed creepy.
Thanks for sending in your ask and your thoughts! Hopefully mine aren't too bizarre. lol But, I so appreciate you and all of your support! 💜

Part 3
Yeosang’s friend, Hongjoong, arrives at your shop today. He waits for you and Wooyoung patiently by the door. Well, you assume it’s Hongjoong based on his mannerisms. He didn’t seem like the men Wooyoung had to fight the night before. The two of you approach your shop carefully: the grip you have on your keys were tight, Wooyoung’s stance was low enough to not get weird glances but low enough to give him enough force to jump should it not be him.
The male notices the two of you and greets you politely. “Hello, I’m Kim Hongjoong, Kang told me about your need for assistance.” The introduction puts your guards down. You remember Yeosang’s description of the male, around Wooyoung’s height, eyes that seem inquisitive, with wavy hair that seem to frame his face. If none of these events had happened, you would’ve assumed he was a model with how he carried himself.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” You introduce yourself and Wooyoung, as you open the shop for the day. Not even a few minutes after, people start pouring into your shop-- some of them with obvious relief on their features. They speak of their worries of the shop having closed down or you and Wooyoung not doing alright. All of which are shut down with reassurances. As the three of you go about with the orders and other needed rituals, you teach Hongjoong the ins and outs of your shop, what to press to make certain types of coffee, how to make foamed milk and so on. “Oh and if you want to create any dishes, feel free to do so. Some of Wooyoung’s creations are on the menu as well.”
Throughout the day, the three of you try to get to know each other more, even asking Hongjoong for tidbits about who Yeosang and San really are and who he really is. He answers simply about himself, a Dendro holder, whose blood is similar to that of San’s. “So how old are you?” Wooyoung asks.
“Younger than San, older than you.” It was a simple answer but enough to give the two of you an idea of how long he has walked the earth. It also explains his oddly shaped pupils but perhaps a detailed rundown of his lineage is for another day.
Wooyoung returns to where the two of you are, just in time to get the gist of the conversation as you guide Hongjoong through making an iced macchiato. “Yeah and most of the earnings made from those dishes go to you.” He eggs the other male on with a cheeky grin on his face. Hongjoong, catching onto his antics, releases a light laugh after having made enough milk foam for the order.
“I’ll consider that.” You let Hongjoong pour the order into a plastic cup for the customer. You don’t miss the lingering gazes from the women as well. Maybe having an attractive barista could help with the sales.
--------
You were back running business as usual. Only since that incident, you had to start closing a little earlier than usual. You had to write on your small board that you’ll only be able to be open until 5PM every day for the next few weeks due to personal reasons. Wooyoung spends the rest of the day in the studio, though he gets creative with the journey there-- using various train lines, or even walking through different streets just to make sure he doesn’t become predictable from the Abyss. He was more worried for you though. Hongjoong as well, walks with you usually: either walking the two of you to your apartment or elsewhere, just for safety. It was part of the agreement after all.
For today the shop has to close early, at least he can be reassured that you’ll be safe with Yeosang for tonight. “Damn, you really dressed up for tonight huh?” Wooyoung muses as he leans against the counter. Hongjoong lingers around Wooyoung’s side. For the entire day, Wooyoung gave the older male a rundown of your relationship with Yeosang-- at least the parts you forgot to add, which generally was the romantic aspect.
To be fair, you did put a little more effort today hoping that Wooyoung wouldn’t notice unless you wanted to be teased. Your blouse, though it can be easily wrinkled, hangs on your body well. It’s also one of your favorites simply for how it feels cool to the touch. You were wearing slacks as well, not your usuals for comfort and practicality but today, knowing Yeosang’s preferences when it comes to dates, it was better to just dress up.  “Shush.” You chide him, wrinkling your nose at his teasings. “I know he’s seen me in just shorts or joggers when I’m working but considering it’s a date…” Until now, whenever you say that you’re going on a date with him, your heart beats a little faster. “I figured I might as well... “
The mischievous glint in Wooyoung’s eyes softens just a bit as he snickers at how flustered you look. “Don’t worry about it too much, the two of you have really good dynamics. Guess you could say there’s a spark” He rests against his elbows this time. The pun doesn’t go unnoticed by Hongjoong. “Have you even seen how he looks at you? That guy’s really smitten.” There was also a hint of curiosity behind the soft gaze Yeosang carries for you. He wonders what it is, but if there’s anything being an electro user tells him, it’s patience. “Besides, your shop has garnered a bunch of loyal customers now. They don’t mind the early close especially for personal reasons. At least have fun tonight.”
You look at the clock. It won’t be long until he picks you up from the shop then. “You already know how to lock up this place right?” It won’t be long either until Wooyoung has to head to the studio.
“Of course. The keys are with me and the extra set of keys are at home.” He rolls his eyes in jest at your concern. “Do you have Regalia with you?” He returns.
Regalia’s the name of the bracelet you’ve been wearing since day one of living with Wooyoung’s family. One of the last few things you’ve kept from your family that he’s aware of. He doesn’t usually mind you not wearing it during work but with the recent events, you can only assume this is for your peace of mind. “Yup.” You raise your wrist to his view, and he sees the cool toned beads adorn and accentuate the silver charm that rests just above where your pulse is.
Your vision was peaking under your top, just by your waist, not wanting to bring too much attention to your capabilities but still wanting to stay on the safe side. Underneath the calm facade, lies the same person who’s still wary of everything since then. A figure catches his eye by the door. It’s Yeosang, this time wearing a cream blazer under a simple printed white shirt and dark gray pants and ankle boots. He always manages to make you feel a tad bit underdressed with his fashion sense. You envy Wooyoung’s nonchalance to the fashion differences, then again, Wooyoung’s been confident in his own style. That’s what got him to where he is now.
Just as you were about to ask Wooyoung a question, he beats you to it. “Yes, you look fine. Now go and have your date.” He shooes you off with a wave of his hand. You shoot him a look of mild annoyance for his ability to see through your facade. So with that done, you grab your things on top of the counter and wave him goodbye.
“Call me when something comes up okay?”
He says nothing but shoots you an okay sign, making sure you focus on the man who’s been waiting for you like a lovesick puppy by the door.
Just as you step out of the shop, you’re greeted by a warm smile from him. It’s interesting how that smile made him look younger when he’s already thousands of years older than you. It just comes with the whole Archon responsibility, you suppose. As you approach him, he hands you a bouquet of various flowers-- peeking above the flowers, you see his cheeks bloom into an endearing pink.
“Yeosang what’s this for?” You ask, the wrapped flowers in your hands has you dumbfounded. You weren’t sure if it was a double peonies but you’ve definitely seen this before somehow. You knew that this was a rarity but how he managed to acquire them at the height of their beauty at this time of the year was a feat for you. “What is this?” A white flower, not yet in full bloom, is surrounded by simple greens and hyacinths. You gaze at them for a moment, before returning your gaze to the man in front of you.
The tips of his ears shine bright pink, a stark contrast to his black-blue hair. “I thought you might appreciate another type of flower to be in your shop.” You can’t turn down this gift. Double peonies have been something you would usually see online. To know that these are real ones and they’re in your hands, it was truly an experience. “Neve Jewel.” He answers your question softly
You look at him for a moment, shocked at how he got this flower for you. “How often should I water them?” You ask as you try to look for a vase or a spare pot that you would plant them in for the time being in your shop. You’d love to bring home a sapling of this down the line.
“Every three days.” He says after clearing his throat. If he didn’t, he would’ve stuttered through the tip. The look of pure glee in your eyes made him think that getting you the flowers was a good decision, at least it was good enough to make his chest feel warm. As you look through the pots in your shop, you realize there’s no space for them: looks like you’ll have to carry them for the entirety of the date.
He offers you the crook of his arm, for you to hold onto for the rest of the date. “So what’s the plan for tonight?” You ask as you gently hold onto his arm as he offered. The night was still young and there was so much they could do and for all you know he might pull more surprises.
“Well, for starters, you have the freedom to choose what we eat tonight. I figure it’s only fair to let you choose this time as it was my choice last time.” That’s right, you remember the last restaurant being expensive and him being able to pay with ease. A small part of you wonders if he could cover your further studies or help with the studio Wooyoung also works in.
The power to choose makes you hum in thought. Truthfully the decisions were countless. “How about pizza and pasta? I know a place you might like.” A short pause. “Well, we can look at the menu and see if you like it, if not we go elsewhere.” You offer.
You hate to admit that ever since knowing Yeosang’s the Archon, you started seeing him in a slightly different light. Maybe it’s your insecurities? Wondering who else did he love before you. Was it your jealousy? Wanting to know what he knows about this world and perhaps beyond-- along with his financial security. It can’t be helped, there have been times where you gave up something you eyed for more important things. Living on your own isn’t easy but at least you work at your own pace.
“Something on your mind?” Yeosang asks softly. He doesn’t want anyone listening in on them as he starts noticing fleeting glances at either you or him. It didn’t take much for him to know that your thoughts were running again. Your hand felt loose in his arm, and your footsteps felt like they were floating. It was funny to him how you reminded him of them yet still be your own person.
“Ah?” You hummed, blinking a few times to get back to reality. “Nothing too pressing, just curiosity over how life has been for you since Day 1.” You admit. You know of their existence: of Archons that bestow these visions, of beings that are half human, half something, or even not entirely human that walk with you. To be in their presence though, is another topic entirely. “Along with the chances of meeting the likes of your kind.”
He flashes a small smile at your honesty. “I see. All of which are understandable thoughts. I suppose I can tell you a few stories over dinner.” He promises. There’s something comforting in how he carries no hint of resentment, but it leads to more curiosity of what he has buried in all these years. “If time still permits today, I’ll show you some places that hold significance to me that people nowadays do not know of.”
“You say a lot of promises, Yeosang.” You note teasingly. As you do so, you gesture to the restaurant that you had set your eyes (and stomach) on. “Check out their menu first?”
He looks at the restaurant and chuckles. “My dear, San always pesters me about this place. I don’t eat here as often as he does but trust me, I have no issues with tonight’s choice.” He would come here often for San’s favorite especially after a long night of dealing with awry beings that try to wreck havoc. It’s enough to get him through a few hours until he crashes.
His words reassure you and thus, the two of you enter the premises, finding comfort in a booth, away from any eyes that could wander. After the orders have been made, you were left alone with him once more. From your place, you could watch people walk past the restaurant on one side, while the cars zoom past on the other. Yeosang lets you look around for a moment before he starts telling you some of his stories. “So which one would you like to know about?”
He answers your questions to the best of his ability. Yes, even if people try to recreate the food from the past, it’s still not the same, not even with the same ingredients, things just naturally changes over time and he has come to accept that. His current favorite is fried chicken though, even better if it’s the half-half type. He tells you about a plot of raised land on the other side of the river. You weren’t aware of this story: how that was initially something like a mountain only for him to flatten it with the force of water after an immortal being thought they were greater than the heavens that made them. He admits that the immortal was a dear friend of his who had changed as time passed them by. A god of earthquakes, he tells you. “So with that in mind, it’s impossible to fully wipe out any archon or immortal being.” Your inquisitive and sharp mind warms his heart. Humanity’s curiosity is their greatest downfall. Yet, this is what pushes beings like him to protect you and your kind. It’s what has kept your species going.
“Yes and no. This dear friend of mine, he can’t..” he trails off as he tries to find the right word, tilting his head in thought. “His material body cannot come back but his essence lives on. It explains the tremors we feel occasionally.” Some gods are forgotten as well, buried deep in the oceans he rules in where only the darkest parts of humanity’s consciousness can only remember. Yet from time to time, occurrences happen that tell him that there are people that still remember. Fortunately, before the discussion gets any depressing, the food arrives and he takes this chance to know more about you and anything you’re curious about with these flowers that rest on your lap.
He asks you about the latest social networking apps, he has the basics of where most people are but the other apps that entertain certain niches intrigue him. Though you didn’t have all the answers, he was sure he’d leave this restaurant knowing more than before. He finds out that your passion for baking and making different types of coffee came after you saw Wooyoung struggle juggling his dance team and studies. The daily expenses of buying coffee eventually build up over time so you take matters into your own hands. Now, you’ve got a shop up and running and the rest is pretty much history. He respects you for that. The Archon also realizes that perhaps San was right with this restaurant. Another restaurant to add to his options in the days to come.
The rest of the dinner goes well, lasting for two hours before the two of you decide to leave and walk around somewhere quiet. Somewhere that the two of you could get away from the constant bustle of modern life.
The walk to the quieter side of the city was a fruitful one. The conversation between the two of you never stops as each of you try to understand each other-- especially with you trying to understand his roots along with his riches. “So, you being.. An archon.. Is that how you were able to get that apartment?” You understand that he’s not quite immortal, having the ability to die as well but he does have the ability to live longer than most. You learned that gods can die, but deaths caused by humans have resulted in violent natural happenings.
“Yes and no.” He answers with a slight tilt of his lips. “Some of the objects from the historical collection are mine but I had to pull some legal strings to make the public think it’s from someone else, and for the stockholders to continue funding the museum. Some of them have been bought and sold through me to older gods and Archons who have passed on, some archaic family clans as well and so on.” He hints towards other groups with money that have helped fund his museum and keep them safe, though through less than morally ethical means. Simply put, the museum has helped him amass a big fortune with one part going to his anonymous safety for reasons and the other parts going to other necessities of the community around him.
Something stirs in you to explain something to him. “I suppose I owe you a story as well.” You admit softly. You start to tell him about your family life, how you grew up in a family that was passionate about their jobs: your father, a historian while your mother was a fairly known ceramist who also had a passion for what your father pursued. It’s through the attempts of recreating the pottery of the past that made their names fairly well known in those days-- also making you have a keen interest and skill in the history and the arts. Your father came across certain writings, unfamiliar to the academe but familiar to those who were interested in the taboo. He and your mother got too close, from what you understood. The pursuit of making connections and knowledge cost them their life. They made sure you were safe from everything, keeping you hidden from the perpetrators.
Wooyoung’s parents were close to yours, it took forever in a child's mind before they found you, hiding in a closet with the Regalia in your small hands. Once they found you, they made sure you didn’t see the aftermath. Their urns rest in a quiet columbarium out of town. Since then, you grew up with Wooyoung’s family. It’s not the same as having your actual parents grow with you but they did their best to step into their roles for you and for Wooyoung. “It’s been years, and I’ve learned to cope with the absence so please, don’t worry about me.” You reassure him. You’ve been so accustomed, so annoyed with the looks of pity given to you by others who know this story-- which are usually by word of mouth.
He lets his eyes wander around the scenery in front of him. The way the lights bounce against the water, the quiet hum of people milling about by the water. His eyes catch sight of a small family letting their kids play about by the water. The way you talk about your family makes him wonder how you were like when you were younger. The you he knows now is different from the you Wooyoung has known since he was a child. You don’t step into the same river but water always passes where it came from. Simply put, you are still you. Heavens be damned, because he’s enamored by you.
As you tell your stories, your eyes catch a glimpse of the same family. There’s something in your chest that twists that you cast your eyes downward. The flowers were still in your arms, you didn’t want to leave it in the stale air of the car.
He sees you look down at the flowers, your fingers fiddling with the wrapping and some of the petals. “Feel free to ask questions about them, my dear.”
Giving you that green light to ask immediately had you talking. “Okay, first question, How? I thought this didn’t exist anymore?” You remember the first dinner you had with him, how he bought a painting of the said flower and told you how rare it was. So how did he manage to get an actual one?
He finds a bench, away from people that were there for perhaps the same reasons as the two of you. He pats the spot next to him for you to sit down as well to which you oblige. Once you do so, he looks up at the sky, seeing the faint shimmers of the stars above. The waters will continue to move to a near unrecognizable state yet the stars no matter how much they move, they still look the same. The man next to you tries to figure out his words, but eventually he just decides to say it plainly. “I had the same thoughts as you, about its existence. San was the one who notified me of its reemergence. He found it growing in the museum’s garden, in full bloom every night.”
You stare at the lone blooming flower in your hands, wondering if there’s more in the garden, but one question suddenly nags at you. “Why did you give it to me when you’re heavily attached to this flower?” You were flattered, you can’t deny that-- a rare flower from someone who has been fluttering your heart? That was a unique way to be courted Yet, the lapse in thought bothers you, a rare flower that he obviously holds dear to him, given to you? What made him think of this?
“They were someone dear to me as well.” He starts. His voice takes on a more sober tone, making sure you were comfortable leaning on his shoulder. “A dear immortal as well, just like San and I.” It takes a few moments of silence for you to understand the gravity of their relationship. “They were someone well loved by the people, taught them how to handle resources on an economic point of view with other regions, taught them handiwork beyond that of warfare, a lot of things that were out of my field to put it simply..” He has already accepted and forgiven himself of his shortcomings to become someone like them at that time. “Their favorite flower is this, my love.” He says, his fingers fiddle with the edge of its wrapper. “Everyone associated it with them.” Despite the harsh cold that ice gives, it was also a time for trust. When it was too cold, they’d make shelter out of ice and various twigs and fur. If it was too hot, they provided them with cool winds. It’s why the Neve Jewel glows as such, depending on the season.
“Unfortunately, I couldn’t protect them at their time of death.” His eyes stay still at the river that quietly flows past them. “Their last wish to me was to make sure the people survive the journey. Weird isn’t it? The god of water protecting the followers of Ice.” He rests his temple against yours. “Eventually after their passing, Neve Jewels ceased to exist. Until you came along.”
“Yeosang?”
“Mm?”
“What if I’m not them?”
“Yeosang, you know you need to be prepared to accept the fact they might not be your previous lover.”
It’s a question he’s considered since he met you. He admits, it wasn’t easy to consider accepting that you might not return. He remembers the concern in San’s face when he was still so hopeful.
“Of course, grief never leaves you. It always stays with you, you eventually learn how to live with it.” He tips his head in thought, acknowledging the weight of the concern.
You didn’t want to cry here: not when the date was going so well. A soft chuckle leaves your lips to loosen up the tight feeling in your chest. “Mhm, I guess so.” It’s a half hearted answer you have to admit but it was better than letting the silence cue the tears.
“But if you let me, I’ll still love you the same.”
A deep breath loosens the pulsating pain in your head from the unshed tears. “I guess life does work weirdly.” You add under your breath, leaning against his shoulder as you fiddle with the wrapping of the gifted flower.
He readjusts himself to make sure you don’t get uncomfortable. There’s something in your words that tells him, it would be better to shift the topic. “I’m a little disheartened that i never got to tour you around the museum but that’s alright, one of these days, I’ll bring you around, show you my favorite works and tell you some stories behind them.”
“I’d like that, sounds like you got a lot you’d like to share too.” You muse softly, taking in the scent of nature and him.
“I catch you lingering by the entrance sometimes.” Even though he has invited you and Wooyoung to stay in the museum’s offices with him for the sake of safety, you’d just linger by the souvenirs. You remember Wooyoung proposing the idea of having a small shop next to the souvenirs, but you shot it down. It’s not because you don’t think it’ll do well but because who else will manage the shop? Hongjoong’s a good candidate but until you’re certain he’ll stay after this mess.
With how everything is going, you wonder if he finds time to rest. “Please, you’ve got a lot on your plate. I’d rather not add to that, Yeosang.” You say with a breathy laugh of embarrassment.
“You know that I don’t mind your presence.” He’s been spending his hours with you after work for the past few months. “I wouldn’t have asked you on a date, if I did mind.” He tilts your chin gently to look at him.
His eyes, holy shit, you could drown in how they look: shades of blue with hints of green and streaks of white. The ocean resides in this man and you’d be damned if you didn’t feel yourself melt in his touch. “If it still isn’t obvious, my dear, I would like to ask you, if you are willing to be my lover?”
Something flashes at the corner of your eye, and it’s coming straight at you.

MC has an egg named Eggie | Satan - Asmodeus - Beelzebub - Belphegor
Hmmm— what if mc found a human egg in the Devildom and keeps it? Like she draws a cute face on the egg and everything, she starts taking it to class and loves the egg every much! Until the brothers + undatebles break the egg. Mc is crushed and sad boi. How would they react? I’m curious 👀 I love your writing!!
A continuation to my other Eggie post. I might write the undatebles if I have time.
Cussing | GN!MC | Egg getting Murdered
Satan
“Satan! Satan! Come meet Eggie!”
“And who might that be-”
BAM! A human world egg with a face on it is shoved right in front of his face.
“This is... Eggie?”
“Mhm! Mhm!”
Lowkey, he was happy that it was just an egg.
Compared to all those times when you brought wild Devildom animals home or blew up the bathroom, he’s super glad.
Nonetheless, he’s also very intrigued by your... Unique mindset.
He’s been studying you for a while due to your odd behavior—stealing animals from the Devildom Zoo, bringing a dragon in the house, and so much more.
Now you have an egg? With a scribbled face on it? And you’re caring for it like it’s your own child?
He’s even more fascinated by you now.
Satan has been following you around like crazy, analyzing your every move and always listening into your conversations.
He even asks how Eggie is doing.
You’re a bit happy. Like, someone is finally caring about Eggie!
“How might Eggie be doing today?”
“Is Eggie feeling alright?”
“Does Eggie like any particular snacks?”
Satan, what the fuck-
Then one day, you return home from RAD and are super worried.
Why?
Well, Satan hasn’t been following you around like usual. You saw him at the dining table this morning but he just sort of-
Poof! Gone!
“I’m home-”
Then a table flies past your face, just centimeters away from your face.
“MC! GET DOWN!!” Mammon screams and drags you along with him.
As Mammon pulls you away from the flying furniture, Eggie falls out of your hands and Satan accidentally steps on it.
Your despair-ridden face snapped Satan out of his tantrum and he looked down to see his experiment broken on the sole of his foot.
You don’t even need to give him the disappointed face because he’s just as disappointed as you and bought you a new egg just a day later.
Welp, guess it’s time to show Asmo!
Asmodeus
“Asmoooooo!! Lookie here!”
Oop— too late. He’s already running for his life.
Why?
Probably because everytime you said, “lookie here,” something bad was about to happen.
You give him wrinkles.
Honestly? Understandable.
You decide to keep away from Asmodeus for a bit to just let him relax from your wild antics.
In the meantime, you spend time with Eggie.
And Asmodeus is lowkey jealous because he thinks you’re ignoring him.
He proceeds to jump you in the RAD corridor after a week of being ‘ignored’.
“MC!! Stop ignoring me!!”
“Eh—?”
You two sit down and talk like civil human and demon.
You finally get to show off Eggie to Asmodeus.
Then he gets jealous.
“You ignored me for a week for this stupid egg?!”
You gasped.
“How dare you call Eggie that?!”
Your argument then escalated into a full-on fight.
In the midst of the insults, Asmodeus grabs Eggie and throws it far away.
It broke, of course.
And did Asmodeus feel guilty?
Of course not! He could finally have MC’s attention!!
—is what he thought until you appeared absolutely everywhere with a depressing look on your face.
Look, he was a bit happy to have your eyes on him even if you were staring like... that...
But did you really have to pop up in the window of his one-night stand’s house while they were getting it on?
A few more days of your horrid stare and you find a beautiful box on your bed.
It’s from Asmodeus, obviously.
A new egg that— uh— the egg reeks of perfume.
Oh well! Time to show Beel!
Beelzebub
“Beel! Look a my egg!! Beel!!”
“Can I eat it—?”
“NO—“
Too late. He already ate Eggie.
Then he noticed how depresso expresso you were and got you a new egg.
Yes, this is the entire headcanon.
What did you honestly expect?
Belphegor
“Belphie—“
“No.”
“But I haven’t—“
“No.”
Then he went back to sleep.
Considering all of the shit you’ve done before, he’s too tired to deal with you.
When you finally introduce Eggie to Belphegor, he’s a bit weirded out but it’s better compared to what you’ve previously done.
“This is Eggie 7.0!”
“What happened to the others?”
“They died.”
“Damn. What a mood.”
He’s asleep most of the time and doesn’t really give a flying fuck about Eggie.
As long as you’re not disturbing him, he doesn’t care
When he breaks Eggie, it’s purely on accident just like most of the others.
He asked you to cuddle and you agreed.
You didn’t notice that Eggie was still in your pocket.
You heard a cracking sound.
“... are humans supposed to make that sound?”
“I don’t think so but something is wet in my pocket.”
You were completely and utterly depressed when you saw Eggie’s corpse.
On the bright side, it was just your fault this time!!
You ended up asking Lucifer for more eggs and he agreed to make sure you didn’t bother him again.
Hmm... Perhaps you should show Eggie to Diavolo?

First Kiss (Simeon x Gn!MC)
Warnings: None (just some language)
Word Count: 1103
“Hmmm...” Simeon took a second to ponder the question, “What was my first kiss like? That’s hard to say, I’ve been alive so long, I can’t say I remember the first.”
Asmodeus rolls his eyes and gives Simeon a small shove. “You just get around that much, huh?” He wiggles his eyebrows at the blushing angel.
“Fine,” Satan pauses, “Ah! I know, you’re first kiss in the Devildom.” He gives Asmo a knowing smile, assuming he was Simeon’s first.
“Oh, that would be, (M/C).” Simeon’s response leaves both demons silent for a moment, shocked. “As for the details, it’s quite personal.”
Asmo is the first to regain his composure. “Oh it got that heated, I knew she was naughty.”
“No, nothing like that, Asmo, it was quite romantic, actually.” Simeon smiles, remembering how you got the courage to ask him onto the school roof after school. You were all blushy and flustered the whole time.
“Yeah but you two totally slept together, right? I mean, I think all of us,” Asmo looks to Satan, “Would totally bang (M/C), given the chance.”
“That’s not all some of us think of,” Satan shoots a glare at his brother. “Anyway, Simeon, do tell. This is rather fascinating.” Asmo huffs in annoyance but is quick to smile and look eagerly toward Simeon, silently begging for more information.
“There’s not much to tell... We went onto the pavilions roof together, they had asked me after class to follow them there.” Simeon leaned against Asmodeus’ headboard, bringing his memories of that day to his mind. “We talked for awhile about life in the human world, and about life in heaven. They told me they wanted to see heaven with me, to meet my family and friends up there. And we kissed. Everything about it was gentle and kind. It was short, but it was simply amazing.”
Asmo is beaming by the end of his memory. “Awwwww. That’s so cute, what the hell?”
“So that’s it?” Satan cuts in, obviously less impressed with the story. “A little kiss on the roof? Really? That’s not the (M/C) I know.”
Simeon sent Satan a questioning look, unsure of his remark.
“Yeah Simeon,” You stroll from the doorway, where none of them had noticed you eavesdropping on their little conversation, to sit next your angel on Asmo’s bed. “That was quite a tame way to describe our “little” kiss.”
“Ohhh, (M/C), you should’ve joined us earlier.” Asmo trilled, “We could’ve probed you for a first kiss story. I bet that would’ve been wayyy more exciting. If I know you at all, and I do, we would’ve been thoroughly entertained.” Asmo winks.
“Well lucky for you guys, I’m more than willing to indulge you in a little kiss and tell story,” You smirk over at Simeon, “But first kisses are kinda lame, don’tcha think?.... How about my most passionate kiss? Honestly, the most heated, desire-filled kiss I’ve ever experienced.”
“Oh, do tell!” Asmo clapped his hands in anticipation. Satan narrowed his eyes but nodded you on.
“Alright,” You began, “So I asked this guy, I’ll tell you who it is later, to join me, somewhere private, of course. He agreed, after a fair bit of persuasion. We talked for what felt like hours - and who knows we probably did. But, that’s when he said something to me. He said, ‘(M/C), if you’re holding back with me because of what I am - don’t.’ That was all I needed to hear, and so, I kissed him.”
“Oh.” Realization hit Simeon’s face, you were talking about him. “Well that was something, but anyw-”
“No no no, I’m not done,” Simeon’s worried expression eggs you on, “That was just the start. We kissed and we kissed, it was like somethin out of a movie, I’m telling you. It was so sweet and gentle, nothing else mattered except us, being together like this. And I was content, but apparently he wanted more,” you send a knowing wink to Simeon, Asmo’s mouth falls open in a silent ‘Ohhh’. He was catching on. Satan sat with his head slightly tilted, still seemingly none the wiser.
“He lapped at my bottom lip, prying, silently asking for entrance. I immediately gave it to him, naturally. After that, everything became so much more intense, every breath, every movement. His hands under my uniform were so warm against me. And, hold on,” You hold up one hand, stopping Asmo before he can begin talking, “There’s more. He brought me on top of him - I could feel his want for me. If you know what I’m saying. His strong arms held me close as we rocked. We moved together, grinding against one another, all while our kisses were getting deeper, yet, quicker. Almost, hungrier. And damn was I hungry. At that point, I was convinced we were gonna fuck right there on the roof.”
“Did you?” It was Satan who asked the obvious question. He looked interested, but a little perturbed.
“No, but I do wish we had,” You lay one hand on Simeon’s thigh, feeling him tense underneath your touch. “I wish we had given in. I still think about his hands on my ass, squeezing it with just the right amount of pressure. And the way he clung to my neck, it was truly, truly sinful. He sucked and bit - Oh! Actually,” You pull down the collar of your shirt, exposing the healing marks still speckled down your neck, “They’re still here.”
“Wait, when did this happen?” Asmo sent a look between Simeon and you.
“Uhhh, what was is Simeon, Friday?” Your question causes the angel to bury his face into his hands.
“Simeon...” Satan, finally realizing who the mystery man is, sends a sharp glare in his direction. “I see.”
“But we hope to continue our little conversation, later today. I hope...” You lay your head onto Simeon’s shoulder, and you feel him shake his head from behind his hands. You lean in close to his ear to whisper, “I bet I can convince you otherwise, once were alone.” You look to see his face heat up, loving the effect you have on him.
“Simeon! You naughty boy!” You laugh, finally hearing Asmo chime in. “A simple, short kiss, my ass! Do you know how badly I’ve wanted to get (M/C) on top of me? I’m starting to understand how Levi feels all the time.” Satan, still brooding, nods in agreement.
“It’s too bad for you boys, I’m entirely smitten by our resident angel here.” You wrap yourself, tightly, around Simeon, effectively crushing him in your adoration.

Chapter 11- The Shopping Trip— Sams POV
Book: The Nanny Affair
Characters: Sam, Ana Schuyler (MC), Robin
Pairing: Sam Dalton (male) x Ana Schuyler (MC)
Rating: 18+
Content Warning: NSFW, Sexual Language, Adult Language, Sexual Situations
A/N This is a brand new series that I was inspired to write. I am going to go chapter by chapter in Sam Daltons POV. This story is completely inspired by Choices The Nanny Affair. I have used most of the dialogue from the actual story, anything written in BOLD was taken directly from the book and therefore is not my writing- credit to our good friends over at Pixelberry! All characters are credit to Pixelberry except for my OCs
Summary: Sofia corners me into taking Ana for the day on a shopping trip, what happens next is anyones guess.
Word Count: 3500
Tag List: @txemrn @secretaryunpaid @lifeaskim @aussieez @pixie88 @thefrenchiemama @sfb123 @mainstreetreader @shewillreadyou @khoicesbyk @lady-calypso @choicesficwriterscreations @somersetmummy @melalicious8383@chrissythadon
I eye Sofia warily as she sticks her hip out, arms crossed, her brown eyes not leaving mine.
“I don’t see what the problem is, Sam. I just want to borrow Ana for the day.” Her voice has a measured evenness that makes me question her true intention.
“Alright, I will take the boys out.” A smile curves her lips at my words.”But, Sofia, please treat her with respect.”
My hands grip the marble counter as she turns to walk away, her heels clicking as she rounds the corner towards Ana’s room without another word.
This is a bad idea…
I quietly follow Sofia, stopping right outside Ana’s door. I can hear their muffled conversation. I take a step closer.
“Fine. Give me the card.” I hear Ana say reluctantly.
“You’re a lifesaver, Ana. I will see you very soon.”
I dart into my open bedroom door before I hear Sofia leave Ana’s room. I wait until I hear the elevator doors close before walking back over to Ana’s room, knocking softly on the partially open door.
“Is it safe to come in?” I ask with a crooked smile.
“Sam, you really are scared of Sofia, huh?” Her lips curve up into a mocking smile. “You’re a grown man sneaking around his own fiancee. You see that, right?”
“I wouldn’t call it ‘sneaking’. More like… walking with discretion.” I slip into her room. “But I am sorry she ambushed you like that. I owe you, big time.”
“Good thing I know just what I want as compensation.” She looks me up and down, her eyes lingering.
“Oh? And what’s that?” I lean against her dresser, crossing my arms across my chest.
“I want you.” She takes a step towards me, her eyes darkening. “Just you, all to myself. Send the kids to spend the weekend with their grandparents, and leave us the penthouse…”
My mind instantly jumps to every fantasy I have ever had of her, spread in front of me on the kitchen counter, her moans echoing through the living room as I pin her to the floor to ceiling windows, and her wet and screaming my name in my shower. I push off of her dresser, taking a step towards her.
“That seems like a… dangerous proposition.”
“That’s what makes it fun.” Her gaze slides up to mine and I can see every speck of gold mixed with her emerald eyes.
“Ana…” I can feel the desire growing before my brain finally takes back control. I lean back, clearing my throat. “For the time being, maybe there’s something more immediate I can do to make it up to you?”
“I’m listening… intently.” Her eyes travel down, lingering on the now-obvious bulge in my pants. Damn, woman.
“I was thinking I could make you breakfast with…. You know, pancakes, eggs, bacon, the works.”
“Sofia would never approve.” She smiles as her eyes rise to mine.
“Sofia isn’t here. I’m willing to risk it. What do you say?”
“I guess making me breakfast is the least you can do.” She says with a sigh.
“Right this way. Chef Sam is at your service.”
I follow her out to the kitchen, my eyes glued to her hips as they sway left to right, her perfect peach of an ass daring me to grab it. I swallow as I watch her slide into a bar stool, my eyes snapping up to hers as she turns her gaze on me.
I take a deep breath, grabbing the apron from the pantry and knotting it around my waist. Alright, it’s been a while, but you know how to do this, Dalton. Impress the lady. I can at least fake it til I make it, right?
I grab some butter and set it to melt in a nonstick. I can feel her eyes on me and I give her a crooked grin.
“Normally I’m the one enjoying the view while you make breakfast.”
“I didn’t notice you were taking in the scenery.” She smiles as she squirms slightly in her seat and a blush spreads across her cheeks.
“I do try to be subtle… even if I don’t always succeed.”
Alright Dalton, pancakes first. I start adding the ingredients to a bowl.
“You have a favorite thing about what you saw?” Her voice breaks the silence.
Ahh, fishing now are we Ms. Schuyler. I will gladly take the bait.
“I’m not sure I can narrow it down to just one thing… between your adorable bedhead and cute little pajamas, my eyes just don’t know where to look.” My eyes flick up and notice her nipples have hardened under her thin t shirt. “But I definitely appreciate how sweet you are with my boys… even when they’re loud and rambunctious before coffee.”
“Sam… I care about them.” Her cheeks warm even more. “That makes it easy.”
“I’ve met my boys, Ana. I’m under no illusion that taking care of them is easy, even if you do have a magic touch.” I give her a wry smile before looking back down at my breakfast preparations. “Would you like to help, or would you prefer to relax?”
“I’ll watch you from over here. This is my treat, remember? I intend to enjoy it fully.”
Oh well, I tried to get her to come closer to me. My eyes swing up to hers and she is giving me a devilish grin as she leans back in her chair.
“Good. I hope I… live up to your expectations.”
“You’re doing a pretty good job so far.”
“That’s because I haven’t set the kitchen on fire yet. I’ve always been a little helpless when it comes to this sort of thing…”
I grab some walnuts for the pancakes and chop them on the cutting board, all while trying to ignore the heat from her gaze.
“You know, for someone who claims to be ‘helpless’, you seem to know your way around a chef’s knife.”
“The chopping part comes naturally from years of working hands-on in a lab. You need the same sort of steady strokes for both. But when it comes to the rest of it… I swear, I’ve never met a chicken I couldn’t burn to a crisp.” Why did I offer to cook for her again?
I flick the walnut pieces into the batter and stir them in.
“Should I be worried about these pancakes? You are going to have to cook them…” She chides.
“You can supervise while I attempt to not burn them.” I give her a small chuckle as I start pouring the batter. Expertly flipping them and cooking them to a beautiful golden brown. I plate her a stack of steaming pancakes. “A little cinnamon, a little honey, top with strawberries…” My eyes rise to hers as she watches me with a smile. “I hope you like ‘em sweet.”
“You know I do. Don’t forget the secret ingredient… lots of love!”
My chest tightens at her words as I turn to present her pancakes.
“Looks delicious.”
I watch as she delicately places a small piece of pancake in her mouth, her pink lips wrapping around the fork as her eyes flutter closed. Who knew watching someone eat could be so erotic…
“Mmmm… so good.” She moans as her eyes open again and meet mine. “Are you sure you’re bad at this?”
“Pancakes are the one dish I’ve perfected over the years. Theres’s a reason I offered to make you breakfast and not dinner.” I smile at the satisfaction on her face.
“And here I thought it was because you wanted to lick syrup off of me.” Her tongue darts out to lick the syrup off of her bottom lip.
I can’t help but groan at her words. “Ana…” Our gaze lingers on each other before I watch her reach for the syrup. I would lick syrup off of every single inch of your skin if I could…
“Whoops! Sorry…” Her eyes grow wide when she knocks the bottle over. She smiles sheepishly as rounds the corner of the bar to help clean up the spill. The sweet smell of jasmine and syrup fill my senses as she stands close to me.
“I’ve got it.”
“No, let me help…” She insists.
I turn to watch her as she insists on wiping up the mess with a napkin. Finally she turns to me, and I realize just how close we are standing to each other. The familiar arc of electricity flowing between our bodies, charging the air.
“Did I get it all?” I ask her breathlessly.
I watch her tongue dart out and lick her lips as she swallows heavily.
“You missed a spot on my neck.” She tilts her head to the side and my gaze narrows in to the delicate curve of her neck and throat.
I lean in, bringing my tongue to her sweet skin. I can feel her heart beating at her pulse point, and she tilts her head further to give me better access.
“Mmmm… so delicious.” I smile into my kisses on her neck. So fucking sweet.
“Wait until you taste the rest of me.” She says, her voice low.
“Oh god…” Her words send desire surging through me as I imagine the small taste I have already gotten. My hands find her delicate waist as I bunch up her shirt trying to expose her soft skin. “Ana…” I moan as I continue kissing her neck.
She twines her fingers into my hair and pulls my lips to hers, kissing me with a sense of urgency and passion that I match stroke for stroke.
“Touch me, Sam…” She whispers against my lips. “I need to feel you…”
My hands find the hem of her shirt and I reach under to explore the planes of her bare skin, relishing in the curves of her back.
“Like this?” I whisper.
“God yes…” She moans.
My hands continue exploring all of the muscles of her back, pulling her tight against my body and my growing desire. Her breathing is accelerating as I can feel her nearing the edge. Oh beautiful girl, the way you respond to my touch is unbelievable… where have you been all my life?
I completely forgot that we weren’t exactly alone in the penthouse when I heard the thunder of bare feet running down the hall. I immediately drop my arms from Ana and take a step back.
“Crap!” She says breathlessly.
I reach up and run my hands through my hair as my eyes scan Ana’s face. Her lips are swollen from our kisses and she is trying to catch her breath.
“I thought Aunt Sofia threw away all our good food!” Mickey yells as he rounds the corner.
“Boys! We made pancakes!” Ana says quickly averting her eyes from mine.
“Score!” Mickey cheers as him and his brother slide into the seats at the kitchen bar.
I watch Ana carefully as she serves two plates of pancakes for the boys, blushing furiously.
“Boys, what do you say to Ana?” My eyes fall on Mickey and Mason as she slides their plates in front of them.
“Thank you! It’s really good!” Mason says with a mouth full of pancake.
“Mmm. Yeah, way better than Aunt Sofia’s- I mean, thank you!” Mickey stops mid-Sofia insult as I narrow my eyes at him.
Ana studiously ignores me for the rest of breakfast as she slowly regains her composure.
When the kitchen has been cleaned and pancakes have been finished, she makes her way towards the foyer.
“Ana, wait! Before you go…” I walk up quickly behind her holding a travel mug with fresh coffee. “Something tells me you’re gonna need the extra caffeine to get through your day.” I smile as our fingers brush.
“Thanks.” She brings the cup to her lips, taking a small sip. “I’ll see you later.”
“Thank you, again, Ana.”
She gives me a small smile before the elevators close between us.
I let out a sharp breath before walking back into the kitchen with Mickey and Mason.
“Well, boys, what should we do today?”
***
I check my phone for what seems like the hundredth time since Ana left the penthouse this morning. My mind wanders to all the possible things Sofia could be saying to her. I turn my gaze up as Mason and Mickey put their batting helmets on.
“Alright boys, are you ready?”
“Ready, dad!” They say in unison.
I shove my phone in my pocket, it will all be over soon… right?
***
Mason and Mickey dash into the penthouse as soon as the elevator doors open. I pull out my phone… still nothing from Ana.
I sit down on the couch, turning my attention to the trees swaying in the wind in Central Park.
Suddenly my phone pings with a text message. I grab it and look at the screen, Ana.
Ana: I don’t think Im gonna last a whole afternoon w/Sofia
I sigh and sit back on the couch.
Sam: What did she do this time?
Ana: What HASNT She done?
Ana: I’m trying to not let her get to me but…
Sam: She wears you down.
Sam: I know the feeling all too well.
Sam: What can I do? Would a distraction help?
Sam: Ana? I lose you there?
When she doesn’t immediately respond, I text her again… what are you? A fucking highschooler.
Ana: Ok, I have to ask… Is our relationship all in my head?
I close my eyes and pinch the bridge of my nose. Fuck
Sam: No, definitely not. Where’s this coming from?
Ana: Just something Sofia said…
Damn it, I knew this was going to be a problem.
Sam: Ana, please don’t listen to her.
Sam: She doesn’t know anything about our relationship. And she’s a master at manipulation.
Ana: I kno I kno, its just she found a sore spot I guess.
Sam: I should’ve know she’d pulls something like this. She was so insistent when she asked. I didn’t want to arouse suspicion by resisting too much.
Ana: Her mind games are seriously next level. At this point, I wonder if her assistant even has a kid.
Sam: Ana, I WILL make this right. Sit tight.
I stand up, sending a quick text to Carter to let him know I am running out and leaving the boys at home. I stuff my phone in my pocket, grabbing the keys to the Porsche and ignoring the many incoming texts as my phone pings in my pocket. Hold tight, Ana. I am coming for you.
***
After stopping at Laudree and getting a box of macarons, I park the Porsche outside of Viver and make my way inside.
“Did you know there’s a gourmet bakery just down the street from here?” I smile as I walk into the back, Ana is bent over her phone on the chaise.
“Sam!” I watch her face light up as stands up, her long legs stepping up to me as she throws her arms around my shoulders.
“I should surprise you like this more often.” I smile as she steps away from me.
“If our think you’re gonna get away with pawning me off on Sofia for an entire day ever again…” She rolls her eyes.
“I guess I’ll just have to come up with another way to surprise you.” I give her a nudge with my elbow.
“Sam, you know how to turn my day around. Thank you for finding a way to show that you care.” She grabs the box from my hands.
“It’s the least I could do, given what you’ve done for me today to show that you care.” I place my hand on her arm and give her a long look. “You need me, I’m here. Okay?”
She gives me a small nod and I watch her melt at my words.
“Is that my boo-bear?” I flinch slightly as I hear Sofia’s voice call from the dressing room. She rounds the corner with a smile on her face. “And you brought… cookies! That’s very sweet, literally. I’ll have to save it for my cheat day.”
“I’m told they’re the best cookies in the city. Consider it my way of thanking you two, since you spent all day preparing for an event on my behalf.” I look at Sofia with a smile. “But since it looks like you’re done already, maybe I can kill two birds with one stone and take Ana home with me?”
“Hm? Oh yes, that’s fine. I have an appointment soon anyway.” Sofia grabs her phone out of her purse and barely spares me another glance.
“Ana? Shall we?”
I watch Ana give Sofia a weird look, which I decide to ignore, before she follows me out of the shop.
I open the passenger side door for her and she gracefully slides into the seat of the Porsche, her long legs look so damn good in this car. I bite my lip before I close her door, climbing into the drivers side and I put the car into drive.
My hand is resting on the center console. I feel her fingers gently brush mine before she intertwines our fingers. I glance down at our hands with a small smile.
“So, you’re going to a charity gala this weekend?” She asks casually.
“It’s not as fun as it sounds, believe me. Even though it’s not official business, it’ll be all shoptalk, all night.”
“With fancy food and fancy drinks and fancy dancing? That doesn’t sound all bad.”
“You’re right, it’s not.” I squeeze her hand lightly. “And with the right date, it could be downright fun. But-“
“You’re going with Sofia.” Her voice sounds sad as she shifts her gaze out of the window.
“Yeah. She has her moments, but she tends to stay laser-focused on business events like this.” I wish you were coming with me though…
“I wish I was going with you. You’d have so much more fun with me. Just like at your engagement party.”
“Maybe it’s a good thing I’m not bringing you, then. You were dangerous that night.” My mind wanders back to her body pressed against mine, the dark look in her eyes.
“Just that night?” I can see her look at me out of the corner of my eye.
“And every night since.” I flick my eyes to hers. “It’s not fair to tease me when I’m supposed to keep my eyes on the road.”
“I never said I play fair.”
“Ana…” My voice almost sounds like a growl as I try not to imagine her body pressed up against me, her hips pressing into mine.
“Fine, fine. I’ll be good… for now.” She smiles before facing forward, our fingers still interlaced.
***
“Are you serious, Sof? You know how big of a deal tonight is.”
“I know, Sam, and I really do apologize. I do not feel well enough to attend.” Her voice sounds quiet and subdued. “I have an idea that would keep my seat filled at the table.”
I pinch the bridge of my nose. I could bring Ana…
“You should bring, Ana.” My eyes widen at her words. “She was with me when I was practicing, she should know who everyone of importance is.”
“I don’t know, Sofia.”
“I do, Sam, I insist. She won’t look as good at me on your arm, but she is better than nothing.”
I pause for effect.
“Alright, well, I hope you feel better.”
“Thank you, Sam. Don’t have too much fun without me tonight.”
“Bye, Sof.”
I am glad she can’t see the grin on my face as I end the phone call, sending a quick text to my assistant to order a gold dress from my personal shopper at Nordstroms in Ana’s size and to change my tux to one that will match.
***
The doorman delivers the suit bag and the dress box to the elevator and I walk quickly into my room, changing into the tux with the gold accents and gold tie. I take one last look in the full length mirror before turning to the box.
I carefully unbox the dress, damn this is going to look so fucking good on her…
I make my way to Ana’s room and knock softly on her closed door.
I hear her voice on the other side of the door before she swings it open. Her brown hair cascading down her back and chest, wearing that thin t shirt that leaves nothing to the imagination. I clear my throat as I remember why I am even standing here in the first place.
“Sam… you look amazing.” She reaches out and adjusts my lapels and runs her hands down my chest. “There. Now you’re perfect.” Her eyes find mine again with a sigh,
“What would I do without you?”
“Walk around with a wrinkled lapel, I expect.” She laughs softly, such a beautiful sound…
I clear my throat and her face turns serious.
“Ana, I know this is terribly short notice, but… will you be my date to the gala?” I hold my breath as surprise flashes across her face, followed by confusion.
Oh god, say yes.

Chronology: After 'The New Taylor' and 'A Ride to Remember', sort of midway through 'Inheritance'.
Tagging: @saivilo, @edgydepressedchoicesthot, @sceptilemasterr, @greengroove @mauvecatfic
Thanks for reading!
Parrying the blows of her brother’s sword with the easy grace of a well-honed professional-- she had been doing this since her early teens-- Estela seemed to dance across the basement floor, totally in her element. Then Aleister lurched forward, and she jumped back, effortlessly dodging his attack. But in the landing, she found herself, finally, unstuck. Under the sudden weight of her whole body, her wounded leg gave way, and she stumbled. In a split second, Aleister’s cautious approach fell away and he pushed his advantage before Estela could recover. With a final flick of his blade, she was disarmed.
Estela laughed at the look of plain shock on Aleister’s face at his own victory. “Not half bad,” she commented, impressed that he hadn’t fumbled around taking advantage of her weakness. Her healing leg injury had been a source of great frustration-- despite regular massages of the Vaanti-made ointment concocted using the leaves from The Celestial’s roof, improvement had plateaued. The last thing she wanted was to be babied. “You’re still wasting too much energy with flamboyant gestures. This isn’t ballet-- it doesn’t have to look pretty.”
“Well, it certainly doesn’t appear that ‘pretty’ has hindered my performance,” Aleister panted, recovering just enough to be rather pleased with himself.
Offering a hand to take Aleister’s sword, Estela grinned. “Like I said, not half bad. Come on, hermano. We’d better give Tio a hand in the kitchen; it sounded like he had a big spread planned.”
Brother. That was still new. Only in the lead-up to his hand-fasting to Grace a few months prior had Estela gone so far as to utter that word in relation to Aleister. He reacted as he always did, a double-take, then his cheeks going immediately pink. It had been so long he’d craved that acceptance… now that it was there, it seemed it would take him some getting used to.
All attempts at helping Nicolas out with the farewell dinner were met with strong resistance. Some butting of heads later, Estela realised it really wasn’t a hill worth dying on; if her tio wanted to do something special for them all, she’d just have to step back and let him. After all, it could well be some time before he’d have this opportunity again. Come the next day, she, Taylor, and their friends, would all be on their way, and Nicolas would once more be left to an empty house.
As much as she tried to join in the energetic conversations over dinner, Estela found herself distracted. With her return to La Huerta, she’d be taking steps to move on with her life; to come to terms with the grief she’d suffered and get some closure. And then… she was faced with working out what the hell kind of life she’d forge for herself; something that had been made all the more complicated since Aleister had seen fit to bestow upon her half of everything he’d been left after Rourke’s demise. She’d made good progress on coming to peace with that connection, but she was not fool enough to be under any illusions… she still had a long way to go.
The subject of conversation turned to the case against Lundgren-- and the subsequent clearing of Jake’s name-- and Estela shook herself back to the present.
“The evidence is fairly damning,” Aleister was saying as he loaded his fork with beef, egg and plantain. “Certainly, the prosecutors were pleased. That we have access to every file my father ever touched, and a wealth of video and audio recordings, it would be difficult indeed to look at what’s presented and not come back with a guilty verdict.”
Jake smiled wryly, the grin failing to make his eyes. “I’ll give ya one thing, Malfoy, your old lady ain’t a dame I’d want to get on the wrong side of. I guess… we’ll see. Worst case, settlin’ down out here wouldn’t be half bad.”
“We won’t rest until you’re home,” Grace declared resolutely, her dark eyes shining. “That awful man isn’t going to be remembered as anything other than a power-hungry conniving brute. I’ll stand up and make a witness statement in court myself!”
She had, Jake knew, her own haunting personal experiences of seeing that exact brutality at close quarters. It made him sick. “Hey-- I won’t have you dredging up all that. Not for me--”
Grace spoke across him, calmly but firmly. “It’s my stand to take. I had quite enough of being helpless as Rourke’s prisoner; I need to take my power back.”
Jake’s mouth snapped shut. He wasn’t about to argue with that. “The poor defense won’t know what hit it.” The words rang hollow as exchanged a subtle dark look with Estela. The optimism was nice and all, but experience had told the both of them that the world was a corrupt place and ‘fair’ barely counted for squat.
“I know you think I’m naive,” Grace said, “and maybe I am, but the fact remains that we’re not giving in.”
Taylor grinned, confident because she had to be. “I didn’t offer my life force to some crystal alien only for you to not get back to your family. This is a matter of ‘how’ and ‘when’, not ‘if’.”
Beside her, Estela nodded. “Look, we’d be crazy if we just go in assuming this is gonna be a cakewalk. But Pollyanna here is right; we’ll make it happen. We’re not the kind of people who just roll over to injustice, and anyone who thinks they can force us is in for a painful lesson.”
“Dang, Princess… I think you broke Eeyore. She’ll be a motivational speaker at this rate….”
“It’s Katniss, cabron. Y vete a la mierda.”
Jake sniggered into his beer. So, motivational speaker was a little stretch.
With dinner over, the group started disperse. As Estela made to make a start on clean-up, Taylor gently turned her around.
“I’m pretty sure me and Al can handle this. Make the most of tonight.”
Estela looked out through the window to the front porch, where Nicolas had settled with his flask of rum. She took a deep breath. Taylor was right; she couldn’t just let this time pass her by.
Cold beer in hand, she pushed open the front door and stepped out. “It seems like Aleister and Grace’s first bandeja paisa was a hit.”
Nicolas beamed at the sight of her, and clinked her bottle as she sat down in the other chair. “Of course. Either that or they are exceptional actors.”
“No chance,” Estela laughed. “You’ve seen the looks he gives poor Taylor’s cooking. Her confidence has been shot since they’ve been here. At least Grace is polite about it.”
“You must be excited. I’ve said for so long that your potential was being wasted, and now… the world is your oyster. I never thought I’d see the day.”
Estela shifted in her chair and took a long drink.
“What’s that look for, mija?”
“Well, yeah, I’m excited. Terrified, but…. If I finish this degree, I really should think of what I want to do with it. And, well, all that money Aleister’s pushing on me.”
“That gilipollas. You poor thing.”
“Actually, I’m almost getting used to the idea. As much as it freaks me out, Mom would have been so happy to know I’ve got a leg up.” A small smile crept to Estela’s face. “I keep seeing so many things I could help with. Like the schools and universities-- how much could recovery be accelerated if people had better opportunities to learn? Or physically rebuilding so much that had been destroyed, or actually protecting the wilderness of this beautiful place?” She blushed as she caught herself getting passionate. “Rourke International has the capacity to do so much; we could actually have tourists coming here. That hasn’t happened in my lifetime!”
Nicolas chuckled, looking at his niece with clear affection. But he saw the cloud of doubt across her face.
“I…,” she continued, “I just don’t know that I have the right. We just got rid of one dictator, and Mom was collateral damage to a would-be dictator.” A would-be dictator who’s inescapably part of who I am. “Money comes with a lot of power. Even if I’m using it for what I think is good… I could cause a lot of harm.” By the time she finished, her voice was but a murmur.
“True. Alternatively, you could be one of those misers who sit upon their millions while the people around them starve and suffer, buildings crumble, and forests burn.”
“So, you’re saying I can’t win?” Estela demanded.
“I’m saying, the enemy here is ignorance. Ignorance of what greater impacts of your generosity might be, and ignorance of what suffering might go on if that generosity is withheld. The fact that you are even having these doubts tells me that you are not ignorant to the consequences of your actions.”
Estela huffed thoughtfully. “I don’t suppose,” she grumbled after a little while, “that you’d let me be, even for a second.”
“Of course not! I might be getting on a bit, but I am by no means past letting you know when you ought to unstick your head from your own backside.”
Again, Estela fell quiet. She was not going to be existing in an echo chamber. She’d surrounded herself with people that she trusted, with strong opinions and varied perspectives; people who would not balk from challenging her when necessary. If she tried, she couldn’t become a tyrant, regardless of what blood coursed her veins. At any rate, she’d simply be-- for the most part, at least-- channeling funds to others better placed to make the change she wanted to see in her world. She could be as anonymous as she wanted. Perhaps… perhaps it would not hurt to put some faith in herself.
“I take it from your silence,” Nicolas said, “that you’ve realised that once again I’m right. Now, go back to happily daydreaming about all the good you will do.”
Estela sighed dramatically, but smiled at her uncle. “I’m really gonna miss you….”
“I can’t pretend I’ve been looking forward to waking to an empty house again. But the missing you will be temporary; that’s more than I could have dared to hope for not so long ago.”
The same was true for her. And there was no way in hell she’d let goodbye be forever, not now. “Yeah. You’ve got a good point.”
“Again?”
She snorted. “Shut up, Tio.”
_________________________
The night wore steadily on, and Taylor eventually had to retreat from socialising with Nicolas’ other guests to start making headway on her night-time routine. ‘Self-care’ was something she now had down to an art; she even made a point of noting down the steps taken each night so she could easily track what was most effective. By this point, she had a fairly solid schedule. Yoga was followed by a calming cup of mint or chamomile tea, sometimes accompanied by a hot bath-- though tonight it was too late for the nice long soak she’d prefer--, and then she’d wind down even further with a half-hour’s guided meditation. Jake teased her mercilessly, but she really didn’t give a damn. If she could de-stress just enough to keep the seemingly never-ending stream of horrifying nightmares at bay, he could laugh all he wanted.
Slowly, Taylor wiggled her fingers and toes, bringing herself back to the land of the living with a long exhale. Fifteen nights without being woken up by visions of her loved ones’ deaths was the best run she’d ever had, but if those nightmares were triggered by stress, then the imminent return to La Huerta might just be the trigger that would throw a spanner in the works.
The little dog, Fenix, stretched forward and licked Taylor’s toes.
“Okay, okay, I’m back! Was I ignoring you for too long? Thanks for not interrupting my meditation, I guess,” Taylor chuckled. Having the pet had done wonders for grounding her during her regular existential crises. Fenix had come a long way from the mangy worm-ridden creature they’d taken in; still scruffy even with a full coat of hair, she was now bright as a button, and with a tail that never seemed to stop wagging.
“You’d better enjoy having me to yourself while you still can, Nixie-- this time tomorrow, we’ll probably have Furball sleeping on the end of the bed as well.”
Happily oblivious Fenix rolled and tumbled in her human’s lap. Foxes with ice powers were far beyond her frame of reference, but she could sense that whatever Taylor was talking about made her happy, so naturally there was every reason to be in a good mood.
The door creaked, and a just-showered Estela entered the room, clad only in a towel.
“Hey. I heard you talking to Nix-- figured you’d finished your meditation.”
“Hey,” Taylor cooed, feeling herself practically melt as her wife reached down to stroke her hair. “I just finished; went pretty heavy on the self-care tonight, just to be safe. You ready for bed?” She let herself be helped to her feet, and wrapped an arm around Estela’s waist. “Last cuddle in your little single bed for a while.”
Estela smiled. “Last cuddle in our little single bed.”
Taylor changed into her pyjamas and nestled under the covers, waiting and watching in quiet contentment as Estela slipped into a singlet and a light pair of shorts.
“You are so, so beautiful, you know that?”
“Taylor, you tell me that ten times a day.”
“Just making sure you’re aware, lover.” Taylor pressed herself against the wall, making room on the tiny mattress.
“You ordered a cuddle, yes?” Estela kissed and nibbled along Taylor’s jaw, feeling a tremor of an exhale, then sat back to look into the sapphire gaze of her adoring wife. Beautiful just wasn’t big enough.
“So… how are you feeling about tomorrow?” Taylor ventured.
“A lot of things,” Estela admitted. “Getting on that plane to La Huerta is going to bring back a lot of stuff. And saying goodbye to Tio… well, let’s just say, we’d better have a lot of tissues packed.”
Taylor squeezed her tight. “It’s not forever this time. And I think he knows that-- otherwise you’d be leaving again over his dead body.”
That made Estela give a little snort of laughter, but then she shook her head, sighing. “I know the guilt I’m feeling is irrational. Tio is just so happy to see how much things have changed for me. He wants me to go out and live my best life. But that doesn’t mean I can stop myself feeling it, just like that.”
Taylor didn’t have a lot of life experience, but guilt? That, she knew all about. “We’re just going to have to keep talking to that irrational part of your brain, then. Honey, your tio thought you were dead for so long-- you coming back every now and then, smiling, on your way to healing… that’s just the most amazing gift you could give him. And maybe… it’s going to help him move on too.”
“Yes.” Man, I hope so. Estela knew that her uncle had closed himself off to the world. That he’d seen that he’d done his part in life, and then retreated from it. He joked around, but for so long he’d been broken inside. Now, they could make strides towards something better, together-- even if there was a distance between them. Now, Estela had hope for them both.
Taylor snuggled close, spooning her wife from behind, and leaving  lingering kisses upon her neck and shoulders.
“What about you?” Estela asked softly, turning in the warm embrace so she could meet Taylor’s eye. “I guess this will feel like going home.”
“Yeah, I guess it will be. Something like that. It’s a very… it’s a very weird feeling, you know?”
“I can imagine. It’s going to be strange to be back on La Huerta without everyone. The village is gonna be like a ghost town.”
A small smile tugged at Taylor’s lips; in spite of her own worries. Estela sure was perceptive. “It’s kind of freaking me out.” Of course, Estela already knew that, but it had never hurt to actually put the words out there. It was quite clear that they both had to look forward to a crash course in moving on. But that they were alive, and together, and free to do so… it was everything they’d fought for. “I’m bursting to see Diego again, though. It must have been so much weirder for him these past months.”
There was a grumbling, grunting sound as Fenix settled herself into a nest made out of the clothes Taylor had left on the floor. Both women chortled. Nothing like a funny little dog to keep the mood light.
Estela tenderly stroked Taylor’s hair, loving her. “You’ll have a lot to catch up on. It’s gonna mean a lot to him to have you there.” She blushed. “It… means a lot to me to have you here.”
“Good. Because you’re stuck with me.”
“Taylor, we all are. And you’re stuck with us. There’s nothing that can change that.”
As she looked into Estela’s soft gaze, Taylor’s heart swelled. If she knew anything at all, she knew that much. All she had to do was trust in that sweet certainty.

Onyx tells Mc she’s pregnant. They hosts a party for everyone to announce of Onyx’s pregnancy. How they announce it and how everyone react are up to you!
Written by @evoedbd
“Hey babe. Welcome back. How was your outing with Na-” the cheer fell from Cali’s voice, as heavy and rapidly as a brick dropped from a skyscraper. Her heartbeat picked up, even as the feeling of led seeped into every limb, dragging her consciousness towards what felt like a tar pit. Sticky, dooming, encasing.
“Onyx?” She called, brow furrowing as she tried to reconcile the woman who had walked through the door with the usual upbeat, unstoppable Onyx Wren. This woman appeared ashen, pearlescent white save for the usual shadings of her makeup, and the veins running blue beneath her icy skin. Long, flowing blonde hair hung in clumps, tangled around the streaks of meadow green like weeds attempting to devour the most beautiful flowers. Where life had once shone in oceanic green eyes, now there was a dullness, a glazing that only emphasized emptiness. Worse, shoulders which could bare the weight of the world slumped, chained down along with the woman’s feet. No. Onyx’s feet weren’t chained down, they were dragging, as if the act of taking a stride was too much to comprehend yet the need for familiarity and comfort drove the zombie like body onwards.
“Are you ok?” A questioned filled with trepidation. Already, Cali could see that Onyx Wren was absolutely not alright. She could feel it. Sticky hands of a hoard all dragging at her through the bond, making the world entirely too much.
Internally, she fought a war, crossing a list off silently in her search for solutions. What could have hurt Onyx this badly?
A fight with Nahara? Doubtful. Onyx loved that woman, and Nahara had earned that affection. Her hugs were too perfect, rejuvenating and secure. How Cali imagined sinking into a pool of warmed honey or melted chocolate might feel like.
Dorran? Oh, Cali had so many things she could say about him, respect for the dead be damned. Cali was absolutely convinced, out of everyone who had ever existed or ever would, that he was the most deserving the title of Jerk. Lord Jerkington the Gaslighting abuser, the third. Anybody who could do half of what he had done to Onyx whilst claiming to love her, whilst she trusted her body and soul to his romance… Cali couldn’t conceive a punishment fitting enough his horrendous crimes. Her anger had nowhere to go. No conclusion. Nothing dark and despicable enough to bring justice or pay penance. All she could do was vow never to allow Onyx to suffer that ever again.
Vinca? That was delicate ground too, and not an unrealistic conclusion. Cali’s personal grudges aside, after-all Onyx’s twin had turned Cali into a well of supernatural energy with the potential to unleash hell on Earth, Vinca had played her villainous role well. Cali still could trace the numerous scars across Onyx’s body, from throat to gut, which Vinca had left. Also, Vinca had technically gutted Onyx, though she had been possessed by Nizha at the time. Cali wasn’t too sure she could ever erase that image from behind her closed eyes. Or her nightmares.
“I’m pregnant.” Onyx’s voice was so small, so broken and confused. If Cali hadn’t been watching and listening intently, she might have mistaken those words for a breath. Or the aircon.
“… you’re…” The word fell from Cali’s lips on a shocked breath. Well. Babe had definitely been the wrong pet name to use. Suddenly nothing made sense. Her stomach fell out yet her body seemed ready to float to the ceiling, all whilst her nerves suffered a rapid fire mix of dreadful numbness and prickling tingles flowing across her skin to match the static ringing in her ears and pinging around her head.
“I’m so sorry! Please don’t be mad. I’ll be good! I w-won’t disobey o-o-or mess up.” The panic in Onyx’s voice cut Cali to the bone. Onyx fell to her knees, arms wrapped around her abdomen and torso as her shoulders curled inwards. She trembled, green eyes gazing up at Cali as if she were a terrifying Goddess preparing to render judgement upon a defiler. Cali shuddered. Who would want such worship as what Onyx was offering in the moment? Senseless, all-consuming fear? In that moment, Cali realised she could never be an abuser. There was no power in Onyx’s terror, only revulsion. Revulsion that Onyx felt she had to be subservient like this. That her trust had ever been so broken that her default was to cower like a beaten dog, still lovingly licking its own blood from the master’s knuckles.
“I didn’t mean for this, I swear. I-I ca-”
Cali couldn’t listen anymore.
“Onyx. Hey, hey, hey. Shhh, it’s ok. Breathe with me, sweetheart. In through your nose, out through your mouth.” She cooed, collapsing to her own knees before Onyx. The moment she could reach, Cali gently cupped her hands around Onyx’s elbows, tenderly guiding the smaller woman a little closer.
“Reach for me through the bond, how do I feel?” Imploring words were accompanied by every joyful image Cali could summon at that moment. The mewls of kittens, the softness of a puppy’s fur. Seeing Onyx recognise her, even as a dragon. Flying. Watching Onyx fly, be it with the wings of a dragon or across a tightrope in human form. Freedom, beauty, power. Family.
Cali’s heart picked up a marching sprint, beating so rapidly she was positive someone could visibly see her pulse throbbing in her throat if they spared a glance. Pregnant meant baby, which meant children. Onyx. Baby. Onyx. Baby. Onyx’s baby… each time Cali managed to conceive the sentence her heart skipped another beat, beat faster and faster until she was positive her heart would burst. Onyx was having a baby. An actual baby!
“You’re… you’re not mad? You’re happy? B-”
“Onyx. You’re pregnant! How could I not be excited?” Cali began as she lured Onyx to her feet. The former Envy assassin surrendered herself to Cali’s guidance, relaxing even in her confusion. Cali was incredibly careful, her touch remaining delicate, as if she might taint the innocence within Onyx if she moved a single finger incorrectly. Yet, there was also no fear to Cali’s touch. She knew Onyx, just as she knew her own breath. She offered comfort, unconditional support, even without having uttered the words.
“I’m nervous too.” She confessed, finally lowering herself and Onyx onto the couch.
“I mean there are so many things to think about. Is it safe? I mean, what effects on the baby will your dragon side have? Will you lay an egg? I mean, can your body even handle that in human form? Will you be human form for the birth? Who even is the father?”
“I didn’t cheat! I’d never do that to you. Please, you have to believe me.” Onyx’s frantic tone was matched by frantic hands which desperately clutched at Cali. She clung to Cali’s forearm, both forcing Cali to remain close whilst also preparing to defend herself. Green eyes filled with tears, a mix of panic and guilt, dappled with layers of confusion. Despite all of that, Cali saw sincerity. She felt the truth of those words as if they were her own heartbeat.
“Onyx, babe… you died. You died in my arms and came back as a Dragon. Cheating never even crossed my mind. There are some insane magical circumstances that my medical training doesn’t cover. Even if you had cheated or if something had happened, I wouldn’t be angry. I wouldn’t be him. You love me, I believe it with all my heart. Nothing anybody can say or do will make me love you or this baby any less.”
“I didn’t cheat.” Onyx reiterated; her voice much softer yet no less vehement. Her hands surrendered their grasp on Cali, allowing the Asian woman to weave her fingers through Onyx’s. The warmth of her callused hands was enough to earn a soft sigh, though neither woman could confirm who it was from.
“I believe you. D-did somebody hurt you? Onyx, babe, did somebody force himself on you?” The words burnt Cali’s tongue. Bile threatened to rise in her throat. The thought of someone doing that to Onyx. Without the guise of a relationship to force his will, to satiate perverted desires… Cali couldn’t… she couldn’t even imagine it, until she could. From a mental blank, to images of a broken Onyx. To memories of her screams morphed into something entirely different, fitting a different scenario. It was enough to make Cali tremble with fear, revulsion and a rapidly rising tide of rage.
“Nothing happened. Nobody r-” Onyx hesitated, unable to utter the devastating word flashing in Cali’s worst fears.
“- did that.”
“Thank goodness. Then, do you know how this happened?” The gentle question was delivered after a breath of utter relief. Knowing Onyx was safe from that abuse, safe from one of the most brutal of Earthly horrors mankind had ever weaponized, helped untangle the tension in Cali’s aching chest. Her heart stopped seizing in her chest, resuming its marathon sprint.
“I don’t know. Nahara said something about consequences and the past.”
“Rebirth. That was when she was talking about the bond of deceased Envy and the barer of the bite. The possibility of physical manifesta-“ Cali stopped dead. Her mind leapfrogged over the words, gathering them into a net of logic so obscure yet so plausible it felt as if she’d been punched unconscious and now was waking up. Waking to a world where mortal logic no longer applied, and the furthest dreams could come true.
“Oh fuck… Onyx..?” Cali didn’t know if she spoke, only that Onyx’s face pinched in concern. No, not concern. Fear. The murkiness reclaimed clear beauty, obscuring it for all who wished to bathe. It nearly broke Cali to see Onyx shrink, yet her small voice shattered Cali’s heart into smithereens; sent those shards digging into every vein until Cali’s body throbbed with how wrong it was.
“Please don’t get angry.” Onyx whispered, flinching as if expecting Cali to scream. Cali couldn’t. All she could do was go over the basics of Nahara’s theories. A physical manifestation of the bond between Envy, Deceased and Barer of the bite. An echo of the past. The lost reclaimed as new.
“Mine? Ours? Is this..?” Cali begged, she wasn’t and never would be afraid to admit it. Such a glistening possibility was at her fingertips, and she dared reach, hoping against hope itself that the impossible had become even the improbable. A thousand to one? Hell, even a million to one was more than enough. Cali would take any and all chance. Hers. Theirs. A chance to see how she and Onyx may appear a thousand years down the line, a notch in the human species. Proof they had existed, that their coupling had existed. Cali wasn’t dumb enough to consider a baby proof of love, not alone, but also it was. It would be. No matter whether or not that million to one chance was recognized.
“I- I don’t know. It’s possible, probably. I mean, magic? I need to talk to Nahara to find out more. I… it was overwhelming to hear I actually was pregnant and can’t let the dragon out. I just needed time. Needed to talk to you. It could be a manifestation of our bond, or it is something from the past.”
“Dorran.” The name fell from Cali’s lips like a bullet dropped from a tower into the cooling lakes. Oh, how it longed to be thrown like garbage, just as the darkest parts of Cali longed to throw the actual man into a trash compactor and hear him squeal.
“This could be his baby too.” She voiced her conclusion. Even as the words escaped, she felt no change in her heart. There was… she hated the man, she hated the power he had abused over Onyx, just as she hated the idea of him continuing to. Yet, for the baby? For that possibility? Nothing. No hatred, no resentment. No matter how she searched for it. She couldn’t confess how deeply that shocked her. Emotionally, everyone always hoped that they’d accept their partner’s children as their own, but the actuality of that often defied dreams. It was a rare person who could accept such a thing, even in Cali’s situation. To find herself even potentially one of them was humbling, too much, too quickly. Diversion needed.
“That’s one hell of a choice. A dead man, unknown entity, or a key to the gates of hell.” Cali made the understatement of the century after a quiet hissing whistle through her teeth. Remarkably, her tone remained as light as she intended the delivery to be, as if she was discussing what to order for lunch.
“Please don’t leave me.”
“Le-” Cali couldn’t even finish the word. Her body moved on instinct, launching into Onyx’s space so that she could gather the smaller woman into her arms. Leave? Onyx couldn’t leave! No, her brain quickly caught up and corrected her internal malfunction. Onyx’s voice had been so small, the chirp of a bird compared to the roar of a dragon. Regardless, Cali was determined to provide shelter, to cage the willing Onyx within her loving embrace.
“Onyx, you died, I thought I’d never see you again. That I might never have another moment with you, even as you were reforming. Now, I’ll get to watch a baby Onyx Wren grow up! How could I be angry? I don’t care if this child is Dorran’s. Hell, even the Devil himself could be the father and I wouldn’t care. I want to be with you.”
“Even with a baby? A baby you didn’t plan, who m-might not even be yours.” Onyx’s words were serious, more so than any Cali had ever heard escape her gentle lips. They were warning, they were a siege to push Cali away even as Onyx hoped to keep her close. It was the last offering, the final out. Cali understood. Her answer here would shape her life. This answer couldn’t be about comforting Onyx, no matter her urges. It had to be truthful, no matter the pain, no matter…
“Yes.” It was the easiest answer Cali had ever given in her life.
“Onyx, we aren’t naturally biologically compatible for reproduction.” Cali’s obvious assessment earned a watery snort from Onyx.
“Whenever I daydreamed of having children, they were always yours. I was already committed to being a mother to any pet or child you had, to being with you. I want this baby to be ours, I want that more than anything.” Cali had to pause, to actually breathe and let her words sink in. Her chest hurt from how hard her heart was pounding, for how she longed for Onyx to want the same things.
“I’m here and ready to be whatever you need me to be for you both. If you don’t want me to be there as the other parent, I can be the cool aunt. Or a friend. Or a babysitter. Anything, Onyx.” Cali concluded, laying her offering out for Onyx to pick through. Silence dominated the room, save for Cali’s hurried breathing and the pounding of matching heartbeats. Or two heartbeats. Did baby have a heartbeat yet? How far along was Onyx? She made a mental note to ask.
“If you want to be, you know, their mom, then I’d love that too.” Onyx finally broke the silence with a soft yet sure voice, a shy smile tugging on her lips. Cali couldn’t help it, she leapt to her feet, letting forth an excited cheer. Finally, all her nerves burst forth, erupting in her version of a triumphant roar. This was HER family. Hers. Hers, hers, hers!
“There’s nobody else I’d rather raise a baby with. Nobody has ever supported me like you. I just don’t want to take your life away, or be a burden.” Onyx continued, reaching up to tuck some of her chaotic hair out of her face.
“Onyx, this isn’t about supporting you regardless of my own feelings. You’re not taking my life away; you’re giving me a life to fight for. A family. Onyx, our family! You’re having a baby, Onyx! It’s a BABY Onyx! Baby! Yours. Maybe mine. Maybe ours. I feel… just feel me, Onyx! Baby! You’re having a baby!” Cali tried to remain calm and mature, she truly did, yet the urge to move overcame her senses. She paced back and forth, using her entire body to emphasize her points. Big, sweeping gestures of her arms accompanied her escalating excitement, turning her into a goofy rendition of a car yard inflatable.
“Yeah. A baby. You… Sweetheart, can you sit down? Just watching you is tiring.” Onyx’s request was accompanied by a summery laugh, one which calmed Cali for all but three seconds. Then, it was back to pacing, phone whipped out of the pocket of her jean shorts so that she could begin to compose her list.
“Onyx, BABY! A baby! Our baby! We have to tell the others! I’m sorry but no more training for you! Also, none of the trash Darius calls food. We should probably look into supplements too, so that the baby is as healthy as possible. Should I call a dietitian for a food plan? And materials! Are you going to make your own maternity clothes? I got paid this week so I could totally go get some fabrics if you te-”
“Y-you want to tell the others?” Onyx cut in, alarm flooding her tone. Cali froze for a second, recognizing the way Onyx’s surprised voice dipped. Oh, Cali realized, she was behaving entirely differently to anything Onyx had experienced. To how Dorran had reacted. That was enough to have Cali’s internal beast snarling, hating how the past continued to hurt. Dorran had insisted on secrecy, on punishing Onyx. Increasing her training, increasing his bullying. Afterall, that had been cheaper than birth control, or a medically safe… Cali couldn’t finish the thought.
“Of course! Onyx, you’re pregnant! This is like one of the happiest days of my life! Top five, for sure! I’m trying to think of everything we need so that we can be ready for this baby. Like, we need to look into our insurance. I don’t think my workplace insurance covers sexy mamma’s who can turn into dragons. Or Assassins. Is there supernatural insurance I need to know about? Are there any doctors for, well, non-normal human pregnancies? Are there any magical medical guides for this? And birthing classes. We need to look into those too!”
“We…” The pondering tone Onyx used broke Cali out of her packing, leading her to look up from her phone.
“… Did I say something wrong?”
“No. It’s just sinking in, you know? It’s really nice to hear you say it. It sounds right.” Onyx explained, her face taking on a dreamy grin. She was so beautiful, glistening in the afternoon sun through the skyscraper windows. Even messy, Cali couldn’t think of anything more captivating than Onyx. Not the sirens of legend, not the most handsome of men. She doubted if the entire troupe, who were the most attractive people she knew, walked in naked that she’d be able to take off of Onyx.
“It feels right.” She confessed in a soft tone, unable to raise her voice above a whisper. The light in Onyx’s eyes… Cali had never seen something so pure. Green, like gazing up the sun through the underside of a wave. The gleam in them was more varied than a kaleidoscope of colours; brighter than diamonds. She had to look away, while her brain still had some function. There was so much that needed to happen, too many lists to write. Lists! That was a good place to start. Cali could do lists. She helped with stock intake, so a simple list on her phone would be a piece of cake! Oh, and her mother! She had to text her mother. Maybe there were some spare books…
“So, I’m going to text mom about getting some medical books out of storage. I’m pretty sure we didn’t sell all of them. They might have some more details on pregnancy. We have to come up with a way to justify everything, maybe we should discuss giving her sight. I’d prefer not telling her we’re fighting demons though. She’d absolutely spit if her daughter in-law was caught in that! Especially since you’re carrying her grandchild! I’d never live it down if I let you fight in your condition. It’d be “Cali, why are you making your girlfriend do everything? She’s pregnant! My grandbaby needs to grow!””
“Grandchild?” Onyx interrupted Cali’s exaggerated impression of her mother. Gone was the kaleidoscope, gone were the diamonds. The wave had crashed down, sending Onyx flailing into the wild tides of her worst fears without anything to hold her.
“She won’t hate me? She wouldn’t ever believe this child could be yours without knowing everything. She’ll assume I cheated. She’ll think I broke your trust and you’re just standing by me because you’re, well, you. You’re too good to walk away from somebody as broken as me.”
“Onyx, I love you. You are the most… I can’t put it into words. You are my… My light. You are not broken, Onyx. You are a literal dragon. Fierce, strong and beautiful. I am so in love with you that I cannot picture my life without you. This feels like my child already. You’ve only just told me and already I feel as if my heart will burst. Surely you can feel how much I already love them.” Cali almost pleaded, kneeling before Onyx. The current Envy assassin reached out, laying a single hand over Onyx’s quivering knee. Cali could feel everything, the tidal wave of anxiety and fears striking so hard and fast that she was almost physically knocked over. She countered, her mind parrying and weaving.
Pizza in a secret alleyway shop, the way hot cheese melted in her mouth, or the strings hanging from Onyx’s smiling lips. Little hands reaching, trying to steal pineapple as Onyx laughed. This was happiness. Love. Safe, secure, keeping their baby proceeded against her chest. So small, yet inspiring something so large. She had to protect, she needed to. Protect both the joys of her life.
The simple concept of the future flowed through their bond, a shield for Onyx to seek shelter behind. Cali herself was blown away by the intensity of her emotions for a distant possibility.
“I can.” Onyx breathed; tone full of wonder.
“I don’t know why I keep questioning you. You’re always kind and sweet. “
“People have hurt you, Onyx. I’d rather you question me a thousand times, a million times, than ever feel unsafe with me. I love you, and Mom can see how much more me I am with you in my life.” Cali insisted, fixing Onyx with an encouraging look before continuing.
“We had the talk when I told her I was bi. About if I ended up with a girl. We talked again after she met you, officially that is. I told her as long as I was with you, at least one grandchild would not be biological. If we even had children. She fully supports my choices and will love this baby with all her heart. She’ll probably spoil them rotten no matter what we say. She already loves you too! You’re the favourite daughter. She’s going to be so excited for her grandchild. Be prepared for a LOT of baby onesie- OH, this one’s cute! Onyx look!” Cali tried to remain serious, she truly did. Yet, curiosity had taken hold and her thumb had all but developed a mind of its own. Soon, she found herself glancing down at her phone, only to see a lovely pastel themed website, filled with baby onesies. Upon spotting a bear on the third row, she excitedly turned her phone to Onyx, which earned an actual squeal of delight.
“Oh my god, that looks like a little Ripley onesie!” Onyx cooed excitedly, leaning closer to support the phone. She couldn’t help but internally swoon over the adorable little bear onesie, complete with little pink pads on the feet. The little hood with adorable little ears, and the stomach patch. The tail, which concealed the buttons for easy changing.
“Right? I’m buying it! Ohh, it comes in purple! Should I get a little leopard?” Cali declared, reclaiming her phone and swiftly adding two versions of the bear to the cart. When Onyx didn’t respond, she paused, turning her gaze to the expectant mother.
“Onyx? Are you ok? Don’t you like them?” Cali asked, her voice going quieter. Once more, Onyx looked so small, trembling in the face of everything. Overwhelmed, Cali realized. Onyx was entirely overwhelmed.
“Cali. They’re both adorable. I’m just scared. How can you be sure Joyce will be ok with this?”
“Err, It’s my mom. She’ll just be thrilled to have a grandchild, no matter if they are biological or not.” Cali responded, unable to fully put into words how she knew. It was simple. It was her mom. Her mom who had supported her throughout life. Her interest in extreme sports, every bump, break and bruise. Her mom had been the first signing her casts, and selling the demon contraptions that damaged her daughter. When Cali’s father had walked out, her mom had been there, fighting to support a child emotionally and financially whilst she herself fell apart. Through teenage heartbreaks. When Cali hadn’t gotten a date for prom, it was her mother who had shoehorned her into a suit and driven her there. When Cali had finally come out as bisexual, her mom had been the first one demanding to know what type of girls Cali liked, gossiping about the boys Cali had only ever expressed interest in.
“But what if they come out with wings? Or, you know, not human?”
“Aside from me being worried how you’ll push that out of a hole the size of a lemon?” Cali questioned with a blink.
“Cali!” Onyx squealed in a mix of disbelief and horror. Her hands came up to her face, covering her suddenly flaming cheeks as she let forth an ungodly groan. Cali couldn’t help but be reminded of Ripley, how the bear concealed her muzzle when Onyx flew across the tightrope.
“Oh god, I don’t want to think about what its going to do to my… well, you know.”
“You’ll still be gorgeous, even if things are a bit different. You know, when I picture mom you, you’re always stunning. I can’t help but think our daughter will be scared her boyfriends will run off with her sexy mamma. You’ll turn into the sexiest MILF.” Cali purred, flopping onto the couch beside Onyx once again with what she hoped was a seductive grin. Strands of shaggy brown hair fluttered everywhere, sticking to Cali’s face in the most unflattering of ways. If asked, Cali would absolutely blame her uncooperative hair for her failed delivery, despite her history of appearing more like a vaguely romantic crab than seductive. Somehow, her dorky display calmed Onyx, judging by how tensed shoulders finally relaxed, and the show-stopping smile returned to her lips.
“That’ll be you, Sweetheart.” She purred in return, nuzzling closer. Cali’s phone fell to the couch, forgotten as the Envy assassin wrapped her girlfriend up in her arms. Both sighed. Everything was right with the world again, at least for a few moments.
“Mmmhmmm, agree to disagree. If our baby is born anything but human, then we tell mom the whole entire truth and teach her how to babysit. The troupe can’t always be around when we need naps, so mom will be happy to have a chance to spoil her grandkid rotten. Besides, she raised me, a dragon will be nothing her brooms of vengeance cannot handle.”
“But, what if the troupe hate me? I can’t help you guys like this.”
“You can’t turn into a dragon because you’re pregnant. That means you’re vulnerable, not useless.” Cali pointed out, giving Onyx an affectionate squeeze around the shoulders.
“Nitza will be after me. She’ll want me, and the baby.”
“I’ll die before I let anybody touch my family.” Cali growled; all traces of her humanity lost in a snarl vicious enough to rival any demon. She felt the rage bubbling, thicker than molten lava in the cradle of a volcano. It consumed, burning through her rationality until she couldn’t tell where her own protective rage ended and Onyx’s began. Onyx may be the dragon, yet Cali’s entirely human body produced sounds to rival Onyx’s alternate form. The former Envy assassin reached out, wrapping her own hand around Cali’s clenched fist, wiggling her fingers between Cali’s until the current Envy had to relax her fist. Had to let Onyx in.
“Ripley and I will protect you, we can take craving shifts! It’ll mean I won’t be on the streets with the troupe, but that does’t mean we can’t both help out here more. We can watch Avi, which will be awesome practice for baby. I can keep gear up to scratch, work on the bikes and you can have more time to design. I know your fingers must be itching to do something creative.”
“They are…” Onyx sighed l, seemingly content to have settled Cali’s rage. The blonde tucked her feet up onto the couch, barely pausing to kick her sneakers off before she wiggled her toes in silent satisfaction. Cali couldn’t help but tighten her arm around Onyx, smiling when Onyx responded by leaning into Cali’s shoulder, forehead buried in chaotic hair.
“but the others will be out fighting while I’m stuck here. It feels like hiding away and doing nothing.” Onyx trailed off, tensing. The sun set over beautiful greens when Onyx closed her eyes, the bedazzling piercing through her cheek acting like the moon across the skies of her expressions. For a moment, she trapped the soft, delicate flesh of her lower lip between gleaming teeth, as if gathering the courage to speak.
“I keep hearing Dorran.” The whispered confession had the dragon within Onyx roaring with rage, something which echoed through the bond. Cali shuddered, brows furrowing as spots took over her vision. For that brief moment she could feel it, the war within Onyx. The uncertainty and doubt mixed with rage. The latter, Cali empathized with. It burned just as brightly within her own heart, feeding into a loop of fury that promised to spiral out of control. Cali didn’t let it, she couldn’t.
Soft feathers, like laying on a marshmallow. The warmth of a spa day, the relaxation. Sticky and wet along the side of her head, into her hair. The rasp of an impossibly large tongue. Laughter. Pride. Love. The certainty of a promise.
“Ignore everything he told you.” Cali urged, barely keeping her opinion to herself. Now was not the time for her to rant about how pissed she was at her girlfriend’s ex.
“Onyx, you aren’t hiding away doing nothing. Not only are you holding a literal dragon back, you’re growing a person! Or a dragonling. You are doing the hardest job in the world. You’re creating a little Onyx! You’re nurturing and providing a safe place for baby to grow. You’re growing a life, Onyx, and sustaining them until they can sustain themselves. Even when you sleep, your body will be working. For nine months, you never get a break. That is way more exhausting than fighting demons for an hour. Can you imagine Cal’s face if he snarks at you? You can be like “Bitch, I grew a nerve cluster today, I’m currently working on a kidney.”
“Sweetheart… You have an answer for everything, don’t you?” There was no laughter in Onyx’s voice, despite the glee taking spark in her eyes. Genuine awe was slathered across her face, radiating until Cali could feel the accompanying emotions through the bond. The littler woman untangled herself from her partner, reaching out to take Cali’s hands for a few moments before her cheeks tinged pink. Without a word, Onyx lured Cali closer, placing the mechanic’s hands over her pale abdomen.
“Nup. I’m scared too, and excited. I just know that you’re my everything, and we’ll figure this out together.” Cali’s words were soft, whispered into the stillness they found themselves submerged in. Cali’s hands were burning, her palms prickling with the tingling heat as she processed what she was doing. Caramel and milk, that was the closest things Cali could associate to the swirl of their different skin colours. Her fingers looked so dark compared to Onyx, casting her in an exotic light, or perhaps Onyx in a mystical one. The duet of tones was dreamlike, earning the largest smile as Cali finally processed the meaning of the gesture. She stared, illogically fearing her callused hands might hurt Onyx and the baby. A breath, accompanied by trembling muscles the few moments before Cali surrendered and placed her hands flat against Onyx’s belly. It was unbelievable! Onyx had barely put on any weight, just enough to be barely noticeable, yet suddenly her body felt entirely new. The definition of her stomach was still there, all lithe muscle and sublime softness, yet there was more too. A curve, small enough to be imagination yet large enough for Cali’s hands to trace. To cup. To protect from the world. Tears prickled at the corner of her eyes, threatening to spill down her swollen cheeks as her smile grew large enough to rival the Cheshire cat.
“Oh, names! We need to start thinking about names!” Cali added enthusiastically, blinking away her tears. This was her future, sitting just beneath the palms of her hands. A little Wren growing, expecting them to have the perfect name. Cali began to panic. What name could be enough for their baby? Forget names, what title best fit until they decided? The baby was too clinical. Baby had that familiar quality Cali was looking for, but also couldn’t be the name they used forever.
“But I’m barely even showing yet.” Onyx playfully protested, bringing her hands to rest over Cali’s, holding them to her belly. Love. It was so pure, so overpowering. Cali lost it. Her tears began to trail down her cheeks, accompanied by little sniffles as she looked hopefully up to Onyx. Every hope and dream she had flooded the bond, sweeping them both away on a tide so impossibly sweet that the real world dared not invade. Even through their sniffles and tears, Cali laughed, appraising Onyx on a particularly important fact.
“It’s never too early to start thinking! Trust me, it’ll be the first thing my mother asks.”

The sound of the door being nearly beaten down had my heart pounding for a second or two. I sat up in bed, frozen. The knocking got louder. I don’t think I really relaxed until I heard Opie call through, “Haze, you up, darlin?”
My brow raised, especially when I caught sight of the time glancing at my cell phone. It was a little after midnight. And as far as I knew, the guys had all gone off on a run earlier. Normally, a run lasted at least a day or two.
Opie knocked again and it spurred me to movement. I slipped out of bed and pulled on an oversized plaid shirt over the thin little gown I’d been wearing to sleep in. Rubbing my eyes and yawning, I made my way down the hallway.
“Opie, everything okay?” I yawned out the question as I opened the door to my apartment and stepped aside to let him come in.
And he came in alright, but he was dragging a massive Christmas tree.
I bit my lip, eyeing it and then him. I flinched as I felt the fluttering kick in my abdomen and my hand moved down, resting on my stomach. “I knew eggs ranchero at the diner was not a good idea.” I gave a sheepish laugh. Opie chuckled quietly and after propping the tree against a wall, he rubbed his hand over his head.
“Mom said you guys went out earlier. On a run.”
“Yeah, it wasn’t anything real big.” Opie shrugged. “Jax’s idea.” he nodded to the tree currently occupying the wall next to my apartment door and I gave a soft laugh, nodding. “Yeah, he had a bug up his ass when he was over here two nights ago helping me fix the sink. Said that it’s going to be his niece’s first Christmas, she needed a tree and decorations.”
I didn’t dare ask anything further. While I may be trying to reconnect with the family I’d distanced from years before because of their life choices, I still operated on the firm belief that the less I knew, the better off  I was.
One of us stepped just a little closer. The baby kicked again and I gave a soft giggle, the sound dying away on my lips as I looked up and locked eyes with Opie. Already staring down at me with this intent look in his eyes. And that heavy tension filled the air all over again. Just like it’s done every single time Opie and I have a run in.
I eyed the tree again, just to keep myself from stepping even closer to him. I could see the beginnings of a black eye in the dim overhead lighting and I winced a little, raising my fingertips gingerly to touch the area. Opie grumbled and I was about to quickly snatch my hand away, but he caught hold of my wrist and held my fingers where they’d been gingerly resting against his face.
“Jax didn’t bring the tree over himself.” I muttered, mostly to myself, mostly just to have something to say to shatter the tension filled silence between Opie and I at the moment.
He still hadn’t let go of my wrist so I could move my hand, so I didn’t bother trying to do it myself. Opie stepped a little closer and chuckled quietly, shaking his head. His next words shocked me just a little.
“Actually, I offered.”
“You did, huh?” I tilted my head slightly, smiling up at him a little.
Opie chuckled again and when I felt his hand settle on my hip and give a light squeeze, I took a shaky breath or two. “Why’s that such a surprise, huh? We used to be best friends, Haze.”
,, and I also used to be head over heels in love with you. And I still am... If only you had a clue, Opie.” the thought reared it’s head and I shoved it out, correcting him quietly. “We still are.”
“You’ve been avoiding me.” Opie hadn’t ever been the kind of guy to pull punches.I’d known that at some point, he was going to confront me. However, I didn’t expect it to be at a little after 1 am, in the middle of my living room.
I sighed quietly. “I just.. I wanted to give you space.”
Opie nodded. We were back to the heavy silence again. And we kept drifting closer to each other. The closer we drifted, the more I wanted to grab hold of the front of his cutte and pull his mouth down against mine. To finally kiss him. Finally lay it all out there. Because the biggest reason I’ve been avoiding him since I moved back here?
Because seeing him again. Being close to him again.. It brought everything right back. Stronger this time, because I could see he was hurting and it made me hurt for him. It made me want to be the one comforting him. And it scared the hell out of me because the whole reason I’ve never acted on how I feel towards him is because I’ve always told myself that I can’t be with one of the guys in the MC. I couldn’t…Especially not Opie, not as much as I loved him. If something were to happen to him, I didn’t know what I’d do.
,, but you’re miserable keeping it to yourself. And keeping such a distance that you can’t even be in the same room with him is only making it worse because he’s your best friend and you miss that. You need that right now.”
“I don’t recall askin for space, darlin.” Opie’s voice was husky. The way he said it had me looking up from where I’d been distractedly staring down at his cutte and trailing my fingertips over the stitching in the leather to meet his gaze. I swallowed hard and nodded. For once I was at a loss for words. Because I didn’t want to give him space either, but at the same time, that old fear still ruled me. “I just want my friend back.”
I nodded again. “I’m sorry.”
He chuckled quietly, giving me a tight but careful hug. “It’s okay. Just wanted to make sure you weren’t mad or something.”
Some of the tension dissolved, but not all of it. No, the air was still thick, heavy with words I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to say. He reached up above us and pulled the string to the overhead light to make it brighter and nodded to the tree. “I’m here… Let’s see if we can’t get this fucking thing up.”
“I hope it fits. The ceiling’s real low and that tree looks like it’s a fucking giant.” I laughed softly, making my way into the little kitchen area to grab some scissors or a knife, something to cut the plastic webbing that bound the tree and kept it compressed. After a little digging I found some scissors and walked back into the living room. Right at the exact time that Opie was walking towards the kitchen where I’d been.
We found ourselves body to body again and I stared up at him a second or two. He nodded to the fully extended tree and brandished a pocketknife. “Always have it on me.”
“Yeah. Hey, wait. That’s the knife I got you for your birthday.”
Opie chuckled quietly and nodded. We turned our attention to the tree for a few seconds and I let out a shaky laugh. “He had to get the fullest damn tree for this tiny space.”
“He wouldn’t be Jax if he didn’t.” Opie laughed and shook his head. Neither of us had moved yet. He was staring down at me again, the look in his eyes like he wanted to say something. Then he was leaning in. His lips brushed mine lightly and I couldn’t stop the quiet whimper that came as my eyes fluttered open and closed. “Haze?”
“Mhm?” I hummed out the word, my mouth brushing right against his all over again. We were too close now. I had hardly any willpower left to fight off the overwhelming desire to close the distance between our mouths. Obviously, he didn’t either, because one of his hands raised, tangling in my hair and resting across the back of my neck to pull my mouth completely against his. My hand went from resting palm down against the leather vest to clutching at it as I rose to tiptoe. His free arm wrapped around my waist to keep me from losing my balance and our noses bumped clumsily as his tongue trailed the outline of my mouth. “I can find some ornaments tomorrow… We can decorate it.” he half mumbled against my mouth as I answered quietly, “Yeah.” laughing softly into the kiss. His teeth nipped at my bottom lip and the kiss broke, both of us pulling away, breathless.
“Opie…”
“ Yeah, Haze?”
“The reason I’ve been keeping my distance is because I can’t just.. I can’t go back to just being friends with you. I..” I trailed off, fidgeting under his intent gaze before eventually dropping mine to stare down at my chipping toenail polish.
Opie tilted my chin and smirked down at me quietly. “I don’t want to be friends. Did you miss that whole kiss just now or somethin, darlin?”
My breath caught in my throat and I blinked.
“I want you, Haze.”
I melted against him and muttered quietly, “I want you too. I… we just have to take this slow, okay?”
“I waited this long, didn’t I, darlin?”
“Yeah… I mean, I guess you did.”
Opie pulled me against him and laughed against the crown of my hair quietly, “It’s real cute how oblivious you are sometimes, Haze.”
I pouted up at him and he chuckled again. “You need your rest. I’ll be back tomorrow, okay?”
“Be careful going home, please?” I walked him to the door of my apartment and pressed against him, putting his back against the door as I pulled his mouth down against mine all over again, giving him a deep and slow kiss. His hands moved over my sides and as the kiss broke, he reached out, resting his thumb against my lip. “Night, Haze.”
“Night, Opie.” I shut the door behind him and leaned against it to catch my breath and attempt to process after I’d locked all three of the locks. When my eyes settled on that damn giant of a tree, I burst into laughter and shook my head.
Maybe having a meddling older brother isn’t a bad thing. Maybe his meddling was what was needed tonight. I felt more free than I’ve felt in years, finally having everything out in the open. A soft and lazy smile formed on my face as I replayed what happened over again in my head.
And I found myself excited for tomorrow.. And any day to come after that.

I always notice every single spelling mistake or issue after I’ve posted…so apologies in advance!
Tags aren’t working so I will be tagging in the comments. Ive tried to tag everyone, please don’t hesitate to msg and let me know if i forgot to tag you!
It had been a long day for the Queen in waiting, she had nothing but classes, meetings, anything and everything that could possibly prepare her for being Queen of Cordonia.
Riley was just getting out of the shower when she heard a knock on her bedroom door. Riley wrapped her dressing gown around her then made her way to the door. When she opened the door she was met with Liam's face.
“Liam! Hi” she grinned
“Hi” he blushed realising she was stood in only her dressing gown. “I can go if I’m disturbing you”
“oh be quiet, come in” she smiled as she stepped aside to let him past, shutting the door behind him “Just give me a few minutes” she smiled as she made her way into her bathroom, shutting the door over after her.
Liam looked around at her things scattered across the room, chuckling to himself, this was Riley's room, he most definitely wasn’t surprised at the mess of things.
It was just about a week since Liam had proposed to Riley in new York, since then they had been inseparable.
As Liam went to sit down, he felt something underneath him causing him to move over, he looked over to see a green notebook. He lifted it up and opened the front cover, seeing Riley's name he realised it was some kind of diary…he quickly closed it over again not wanting to intrude on her privacy. It was just then that Riley walked out of the bathroom in some lounge pants and a vest top. She seen Liam just as he was putting the diary back down. Liam knew she had seen him so he mentioned it before she could bring it up.
“I’m sorry…I promise I didn’t read anything, as soon as I seen it was a diary I put it down.”
“it’s alright, I mean, you can read it if you want” she stated as she pulled her hairbrush through her short blonde hair “that’s the diary I kept during the social season and through your engagement to madeleine” she added as she made her way over to him. “so I can guarantee there’s some juicy pages about you” she winked with a grin as she leaned down, placing a kiss on his lips. “you’re going to be my husband; I don’t have anything to hide from you”
“Juicy pages about me you say?” he smirked as he cupped her cheeks in his hands.
“just a few” she giggled before giving him a kiss.“are you staying here tonight?” she asked hopeful that she wasn’t going to have to sleep alone again, she made her way over to her dresser where she started applying her moisturiser.
“I shouldn’t…I can get into a lot of trouble” he whispered as he stood from the sofa and made his way over to her, placing his hands on her waist and pressing his lips to her shoulder.
“that wasn’t a no” she laughed “I understand why, I just…we’re getting married, Liam, we’ve already slept together, we’re going to spend the rest of our lives sleeping together”
“I know…im dying for you to move into my quarters with me…”
“then whats stopping us?”
“the court”
“the court can kiss my ass! You’re the King of Cordonia, you can literally take a man’s life and not get into trouble…but moving in with your fiancé…your soon to be wife is so bad!”
“I know, it’s ridiculous!”
“then do something about it” she smirked as she turned into his hold. “so I’ll ask again…are you staying with me tonight…all night?”
Liam grinned as he looked down at Riley, “yeah…ill stay with you…all night…I promise”
“good, because it’s pretty cold tonight so I’m going to need my human radiator”
“then I am at your service!” he smirked as he crouched and wrapped his arms around her legs and lifted her over his shoulder
“Liam!!” Riley laughed as he made his way over to the bedroom, he dropped her onto the bed with a chuckle .
“I take it, it’s bedtime then?” she smirked
“yes, but we won’t be doing much sleeping” Liam informed with a smirk as he threw himself down beside her. The two spent the remainder of the night entangled in each other.
It was early hours of the morning Liam had awoken and couldn’t get back to sleep. He sighed as he turned onto his side, Riley's diary caught the corner of his eye. He stretched as he sat himself up then lifted the leather book. He put his reading glasses on then opened it.
 June 12th
Dear Diary…
Some days are easy some days are tough. Today was one of those tough days…For years I have suffered from anxiety…questioning every little thing I say or do, or things that other people say and do to me. I awoke this morning and I felt so mentally drained, I didn’t want to get out of bed, I didn’t want to eat, I didn’t want to do anything. I couldn’t do anything.
What I find strange…what annoys me the most, is I know I shouldn’t dwell on things that have happened, I know I shouldn’t dwell on the past, I cant change anything so why let it get me down…but that feeling of anxiousness, dread and fear just takes over not just your head but your whole body, you feel so tired and drained, you feel awful, but there’s nothing you can do to change it, just end up falling into a deeper hole, the more you think about it. I just want to have one full day where I don’t feel like shit, 24 hours where I can just be happy and not overthink EVERYTHING! …Maybe one day.
Love you Muchly, Riley
Liam's heart sank as he read about Riley's struggles. Liam looked over at his wife, he gently tucked a fallen piece of hair behind her ear as she slept. “I love you” he whispered. He flipped the page over then grinned when he seen the date
June 13th
Dear Diary
I met the most AMAZING man! Liam…His name was Liam. The second I seen him, I felt like my heart stopped…how can you feel that way about a total stranger…then he spoke and I nearly fell right into his arms, I could barely talk! It honestly felt like I was talking to someone I had known for years. After my shift, Liam asked if I could show them wheres good to go in town, instead I took them to the cove on the beach, it was amazing, Drake was building fires, Maxwell was running rampant, and Liam and I got the spend some more time together. conversation with him was so easy, when he told me he wanted to see the statue of liberty before he left for Cordonia, oh did I forget to mention…hes a king…A KING!, I couldn’t pass up the chance to fulfil a dream! Especially one of Liam's! we kissed…Liam and I Kissed…sparks everywhere, it was like electricity flowed through us it was crazy…my heart was pounding in my chest, I’m surprised he didn’t hear it! it was the most amazing Kiss ive ever had!...but now…he’s gone…gone to get married…and whoever it is that gets the privilege of being his wife…well she’s the luckiest woman in the world and she better cherish him because he’s a damn good egg!
Love you Muchly, Riley x
Liam's cheeks had flustered, reading Riley's first thoughts about him.
“Liam?” Riley questioned as she turned over realising he wasn’t sleeping.
“I’m here sweetheart, go back to sleep”
“what are you doing up?”
“I woke and couldn’t get back to sleep, so I’m doing a little light reading” he grinned, Riley shuffled closer to her, pulling the duvet over her a little more.
“did you start from the beginning?” she asked as she sat up and lifted his arm, ducking her head under it to cuddle into him.
“of course” he replied as he held her a little tighter
“it was like electricity flowed through us, it was crazy…my heart was pounding in my chest, I’m surprised he didn’t hear it! It was the most amazing kiss I’ve ever had”
Riley blushed as she buried her face into his chest.
“I didn’t need to hear it…I felt it” he grinned as he lifted her hand in his and placed it over his heart.
“and I want you to know, that if you ever feel anxious, or like your having a bad day, I want you to tell me…I want you to confide in me, because I will ALWAYS be here for you no matter what, if I have to drop a meeting at last minute…I will, if I have to cancel an outing to help you…I will, being queen is going to be one of the hardest things you’ve ever done, it may not seem like it from all the pleasantries, but I can tell you right now, it’s the most stressful job to have bestowed upon you, you will need someone to confide in, and I am more than happy to be that someone, whether it be country related or just in our personal lives, I will be here for you no matter what. I love you Riley, I have from the minute I met you” he whispered
“I love you so much” she replied in the same tone.
Liam closed the diary over and placed it back on the side table, then he scooted back down to lay down properly as Riley done the same. The two cuddled together as they fell back to sleep.
The next morning Riley groaned as she turned over pulling the duvet around her to keep her warm, as she went to cuddled into Liam, she was met with an empty bed, she frowned as her eyes flickered open and seen Liam was gone. Riley sighed as she climbed from the bed, pulling her robe on along with her slippers, then she made her way towards the bathroom, picking up everything she needed for her morning shower on the way. Riley walked in, shutting the door behind her, she removed her slippers then her robe as she turned around, she squealed seeing a very naked Liam in the shower smirking.
“JESUS! FOR GODSAKES LIAM I COULD HAVE KILLED YOU! YOU’RE LUCKY I DIDN’T HAVE ANYTHING IN MY HANDS TO HIT YOU WITH!”
Liam laughed as he poked his head out. “it was too funny! Your face has literally made my day! will you come join me?” he reached his hand out to her.
Riley agreed as she took his hand and stepped into the shower.
“you’re an asshole! I thought you left me in the middle of the night”
“I told you I wouldn’t leave, I promised!” he laughed as Riley stood under the falling water.
“I know, and I believed you, but then I woke up to an empty bed and I thought you left.” She frowned as she wrapped her arms around his chest.
“hey…” Liam whispered “have I ever broke my promises to you?”
“no”
“then you have no reason to doubt me” he smiled as he leaned down to place a kiss on her head.

9:00 pm
A knock resounded on the glass door of Ethan's office. When he looked up from his desk, he found Leah standing there, leaning against the frame.
"Hey Dr. Ramsey. Why are you still here?"
"If you wanted me gone that bad-"
Leah groaned and entered the thin, closing the door behind her. She leaned over the table and found that he was studying a case.
"Is it the nun from room 508?" She asked as she sat down.
"Yeah... It's been driving me crazy since yesterday. I personally think it's Churg-Strauss Syndrome, but somethings are not adding up. I decided to stay over and work it since I'm not feeling sleepy."
"So a night out?"
"Yeah, kind of.. I wouldn't mind if you helped me out. Two brains are better than one."
"Sure Dr. E." She grabbed hold of the charts and started studying it.
11:00 pm
"Ethan?"
"Yeah?" He let out a yawn as he stretched his back. They had shifted to the sofa. Many medical textbooks were lying open all around them. Leah was sitting next to him with his laptop on her lap, and her voluminous hair tied into a messy bun. Her glasses were perched on her nose.
"I'm hungry."
"Hey hungry I'm-"
She smacked him on the shoulder and Ethan chuckled. "I want takeout."
"C'mon let's go. I know a place which sells delicious Chinese food, and is open at this hour. We need a break anyway."
Wearing their jackets, the headed into the cold night. They chatted about the case as they walked down the streets.
"So what happened when they injected her with adrenaline?" Leah asked as she slurped her chicken ramen noodles.
"She became okay but five minutes later she started siezing. Other symptoms- Breathlessness. Wheezing." Ethan said as he bit into his egg roll. They were sitting on a bench in the hospital's garden. Leah sat cross legged, mulling over the symptoms and took another bite of her dumpling.
After chewing the delicious fried rice, Ethan spoke, "And the peculiar thing is that, when we injected the tracer for the MRI scanner, she immediately developed hives."
"Damn. The case is getting stranger and stranger." Ethan hummed in agreement, eyeing her dumplings.
"Sunshine, can I have one of your dumplings?" He gave her the cutest puppy eyes.
"Awwww.... Aren't you cute? I usually don't share but, you can take as long as you give me an egg roll." She ruffled his hair and he just swatted her hand away.
"Deal."
2:45 am
Ethan took his tie and cufflinks off. He rolled his sleeves up until his elbow and unbuttoned the top buttons of his shirt.
Leah stared at every action. His strong forearms, the prominent veins, the stray chest hair, everything.
God, why did I have to fall for such a hot guy?!
"You are staring."
She cleared her throat and went back to get medical textbook.
"Could it be mixed connective tissue disease? Have you quarantined her?" Leah asked, with her legs propped up on the coffee table.
"Yes. Could be an allergy? Can't be safe enough." He replied as he drank his third cup of coffee. He noticed her light blue converse shoes. "Hey, are those new?"
"Yap. And look, they match my scrubs!" She pressed her shoe against her scrub pants. Ethan just stared at the way she was smiling over a pair of shoes.
God, she is so cute. I would move mountains this make her smile like that...
Leah looked at him and saw him looking back at her, with a soft smile playing on his lips. “Why are you looking at me like that…?”
"Nothing. Just seeing how obsessed you are with Converse. I don't get it."
"Converse is like Pokemon... You gotta catch them all."
Ethan rolled his eyes and dived right back into his research.
4:50 am
"It's almost time for the first rounds." Ethan said as he checked his watch.
"We are close E. I think we can crack it." Leah responded.
"You should try it too. It improves the circulation to the head." She called out to him, upside down.
He took his specs off and turned around to see Leah doing a headstand. Her scrub and shirt had rolled down, exposing her toned stomach.
"No I'm good."
"Your loss."
Ethan continued to read the charts when he noticed something. "Wait a second... She used to get rashes when she used to wash copper vessels."
"Also, when I was taking patient history, she said that she joined a missionary at 15, because she wanted to be a celibate. That means using an IUD." Leah added, as she stood up.
"The tracer we use also had copper in it."
"Leah, I think we cracked it."
"Allergic reaction to copper."
"Let's get those tests done." Ethan says as he grabbed his coat.
7:30 am
"Oh my god thank you so much doctor." The nun cried with tears of happiness falling down her cheeks.
"It's our pleasure." Leah said as she gave the patient a smile.
The headed outside and Ethan submitted the charts to the nurses' station. Leah gave out a huge yawn.
"I'm going to pass out." Ethan said as he rubbed his eyes.
Leah nodded and followed him to the on call room. He took out his coat, shoes and belt before settling in the empty bed. Leah took her shoes off as well as her scrub top, leaving her in a black full sleeved shirt.
Instead of heading to another bed, she slipped into the blankets with Ethan and laid her head on his strong bicep.
"Sunshine, what are you doing?"
"Sleeping." She nestled against him and threw her leg on his leg.
"There are legit... Other beds." Ethan yawned out.
"So you want me.... to go?" Leah sleepily asked.
Wrapping his arm around her, he whispered, "No."
They both passed out, cuddling each other into a nice dreamless sleep.

Imagine (Ethan x MC)
| Ethan x Willow | PG 13 | 1,400+ words |
| Inspiration: Imagine by Ariana Grande | After chapter 8, they have a redo |
thank u, next
Tumblr media
Stayin’ up all night, order me pad thai
Then we gon’ sleep ‘til noon
Me with no makeup, you in the bathtub
Bubbles and bubbly, ooh
This is a pleasure, feel like we never
Act this regular
“Trash!” Willow threw a crumpled napkin to Ethan’s tv. She angrily took a bite from her egg roll.
“Hey, I would appreciate if you didn’t trash my apartment.” Ethan side-eyed her while he walked over his coffee table to place the napkin back on the table.
“Ethan, you have very long legs, you could’ve just used your feet,” her voice muffled with rice and chicken stuffed in her mouth.
“Please, keep your mouth closed when you eat,” he groaned, picking up his glass of scotch. “I can’t believe you watch this show, you know all of this is bull, right?”
“Let a girl dream, giraffe,” Willow nudged him with her foot, a teasing smile plastered on her face.
“Giraffe? What the hell?” a chuckle escaped his lips, grabbing his chopsticks and his box of chow mein.
“Yes, giraffe. Everyone calls you a giraffe. Obviously we say it in safe proximity from you,” she giggled, “Not gonna lie, that softball uniform only made your neck stick out even more than before.”
“People were staring at my neck?” he cocked an eyebrow while he chewed his food, keeping his eyes trained on the tv.
“Yes, but I was distracted by something else... those pants were awfully tight on you.” She felt a rush of heat take over her cheeks, avoiding his eyes while picking at her food.
“They were... uncomfortable,” he replied with a slight smirk tugging at his lips.
“Those pants made it look packing,” she shrugged, “Not that I should be surprised, I have seen it.”
“Willy,” he whispered.
“Shhhh! McSteamy is talking,” she shushed as her eyes glued to the tv, “How is someone able to look that good?” Willow said in awe at the actor.
“McSteamy? Was McDreamy not good enough?” he asked.
“Well, this McDreamy is trash, I prefer my McSteamy if I’m being honest.”
“And who’s that?”
“You,” she simply stated with a smile on her face.
Imagine a world like that
Imagine a world like that
We go like up 'til I'm 'sleep on your chest
Love how my face fits so good in your neck
Why can't you imagine a world like that?
“I think the mom dies and the baby is saved by Dr. Karev,” she mumbled, pulling the blanket tighter on herself.
“Who’s Dr. Karev again,” Ethan asked tiredly, he stifled a yawn and tried his best to pay attention to the dramatic tv show.
“Him, he’s the cowboy doctor,” her finger pointed to the young actor. She lowered her hand and gently placed it on his chest where her head laid.
Take out boxes where left on the coffee table, leaving a whole mess which was driving him crazy, but Willow was laying on top of him and he didn’t dare to move from where they were. He had his arms wrapped around her tiny waist, holding her tightly, wishing, hoping, praying for nothing to interrupt them.
And it seemed like someone was listening. No spam of text messages, no worried roommates, no nosy co-workers, no having to pretend that there was nothing between the two. Finally, they were allowed to have a night to themselves.
His attention was now focused on the small, fragile woman laying on top of him. Her brown highlighted was spread all over him, some strands of hair tickling his nose while he could also pick up the coconut-scented hair.
“God, Denny, and Alex deserve so much more than Izzie. She gets on my nerves,” she grumbles, her head turning to look at Ethan who seemed lost in some sort of daze. “You okay?”
“Hmm?” he snapped out of his head, “Yeah, just thinking about every single medical error this show is committing,” he said, his eyes flashing towards the tv.
Her child-like hand cupped his cheek to bring his attention back to her. She scanned his ocean eyes, seeing them soften at hers. There were times where she knew it was best not to think about it, but couldn’t of how their kids eyes would be. Her light brown eyes were dominant, but she remembered how her brothers had blue eyes like her mother which is rare to see in a family of Latinos from Central America.
Ethan’s hands captured her face as he stared at her eyes while his index fingers barely brushed her cheeks. Slowly he pulled her into a soft kiss.
Knew you were perfect after the first kiss
Took a deep breath like, "Ooh"
It started out more slow and gradually grew more intense as emotions began to pour in.
Passion, desperation, longing.
It had only been a day since they last kiss when Willow was returning to her apartment, but they spent the last couple of months doing their best to find a way around the awkward tension they had around each other. All of the built up tension was finally being released as they laid in each others arms.
“God, I was so wrong about everything,” he mumbled, catching his breath. Willow giggled in response, nuzzling her nose with his.
“Well, finally you’re able to open your eyes. It took you about almost four months, but at least you’ve realized how much of an idiot you are.” Ethan released a low chuckle, shaking his head, pressing a kiss on her nose.
“You’re lucky I’m capable to see past at as I am very deeply...” he paused himself.
Her body froze from what he almost let slip out, “Very deeply...?” she raised an eyebrow.
They looked at each other intensely, knowing well enough he wasn’t going to say the next three words. Instead they decided to return their focus to the show, ignoring what could’ve happened.
It was too soon, way too soon. They spent last year ignoring what they had to only resurface at the end when they... Either way, they crossed a line that no two employees should do, especially if one was their boss and mentor.
The things that people would say about them. Ethan couldn’t give a single damn of what others think of him, but it was more of Willow he was afraid for. She was already on thin ice with the board due to the hearing last year, finding out she was with her attending would be even worse.
If it meant protecting her and her waiting future of success then he would do anything to make sure she saw it. Even if it meant cutting himself from her life.
Right now, he was being selfish and caving in. They couldn’t deny to each other of how much they cared for one another, and the chemistry between them was only growing. Maybe he was meant for her and she was meant for him. Just maybe.
The concept of soulmates was something Ethan could not wrap around, but thinking he might have found someone to complete him wasn’t though not much of science did back this up.
A couple of more episodes played before the usual ‘are you still there?’ finally popped up. Ethan carefully nudged the young doctor who had the control in her hand, but when she didn’t click continue watching, he knew she had fallen asleep.
Carefully, he removed her from on top of him as he quietly picked up the trash and moved it into the garbage can. He turned to the tv on, and cautiously picked up Willow from the couch and moved her on his bed.
Willow stirred a bit in his arms when he placed her down.
“Shh, go back to sleep,” he soothed her, planting a kiss on her temple.
“Mmm,” she nodded before shaking her head in discomfort. “Can I borrow something to wear?”
Ethan gave her a pair of sweats and a white tee and let her change while he went to his bathroom.
He stared at himself for a very long time, wondering what was the next move.
I cannot break her, not this time.
Finally parting from the mirror, he joined Willow who was now deep asleep under the silk bedsheets. Ethan wasn’t quite tired yet, deciding to just watch her sleep peacefully, running his hand gently on her arm up and down to soothe her. In the darkness, he was able to catch a lazy smile on her lips.
He could get used to this, her sleeping in his house, sharing kisses, embraces. That was further in the future though, but for now he could only

From selling to building [f->Raven] MC
Isn't it crazy how one simple decision can change your entire life. Investing in the right place at the right places, losing your life savings after a shady internet deal, hell even forgetting your coffee one morning causing you to collide with a lamppost. God I would kill for even a sip of coffee, hard to get it in my current situation. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
My name was Valley Jackson, one of the most successful realtors in Southern California. I don't know why I'm creating this manuscript in my head, its not like I'll be able to write or even tell someone about it. Maybe it's what I would create if I were to be human again. Maybe it's just to keep me sane. Regardless here's what happened.
I had been traveling north to LA to secure a deal with one of my higher paying clients, normally I'd have them come to me but due to their status I decided to make the drive. I was on the highway around 10:30 at night when I missed my exit. That little mistake cost me everything...
Valley let out an exasperated curse as she looked ahead to see when the next exit would be coming up. In her 42 years of living in California she had visited LA maybe three times. Seeing the next exit approached she signaled and got off the highway. She was 5'6" with an absolutely stunning figure. At that time her auburn hair hung just below her shoulders and her nails were painted white. She looked down at her gps and saw as it started to emmit static before shutting off entirely
"Damn it" she muttered as she realized she was in the middle of nowhere. After about a half hour of driving in circles she finally was about to give up and try again in the morning when a sign glinted just ahead. It read "Pan's antique shop. Open 24 hours! Maps and sightseeing guides provided."
"Oh thank god! Kinda strange its open 24 hours but I guess when tourism is your biggest income it wouldn't hurt to take in a late night traveler."
Soon she pulled into the long driveway marked by another sign. Down the road was a decent sized rustic store. Its arched windows alight with a yellow glow. She parked her car and entered the shop. Behind the counter was a twenty something man who was reading a book. He looked up and said
"Hi welcome to Pan's antique shop. What can I help you with?" Valley replied
"Oh I'm on my way to LA and missed my exit, do you have a map I could look at?"
"Sure, feel free to look around while I get them."
As he took a door behind his desk Valley looked around. There were various items, old political pins, rotary phones, a Walkman, but Valley only saw one thing that caught her eye. It was a pair of Raven shaped earrings. She was drawn to them almost magnetically, their golden beaks glinting in the shops lights.. She grabbed them and headed back to the counter. The man had returned with a few traveling maps.
"Did you find something you like?"
"Yeah, just these earrings. I take it you're Pan?"
He gave a small chuckle with a hint of something else but Valley couldn't quite determine what
"Oh no, definitely not. Pan's the owner, I just work night shift."
"Ah, well thank you!" She paid for the earrings and grabbed the maps.
"Drive safe!"
As Valley started to leave she suddenly felt really lightheaded before passing out completely.
"We're just gonna head about a hundred more feet ahead then we've made it to the camping spot."
Valley opened her eyes to see one of the magnificent California redwoods ahead of her. Confused, she looked over to see who spoke.
"You okay Valley? You look kinda pale." The speaker was a woman around her age with brown hair and a more slim figure than Valley's
"Who are you? How do you know my name?"
"Uh Valley are you okay? Its me, your childhood friend Hailey? Do you seriously not know? Maybe we should look at that medici-"
"Im just kidding Hailey!" She was sensitive about discussing her medication. New memories appeared as she realized she did know Hailey, of course she did. She also remembered how she had decided to take this trip to celebrate Haileys 40th birthday.
"So just another 100ft Hay?"
"Yeah, if you're sure you're alright."
The pair continued the 100 feet before coming across a good enough sized clearing. Valley looked around while Hailey removed her tent bag from her back.
"You gonna help or just gawk?"
"Be right there Hailey!"
After some tribulations the pair managed to secure the tent to the ground. Valley removed two sleeping bags from her backpack and the pair began to undress. However as Valley took off her jeans something clattered to the ground. She reached down and picked up a pair of Raven earrings. Hailey turned around and froze.
"That's odd, I thought I got these on my way to-" she stopped as regained recollection of what had just been happening a few hours prior. She scratched her arm and looked at Hailey
"Oh uh silly Valley dont you remember getting those at the trail gift shop?"
"I got these at an antique shop today. In fact, I don't remember what happened after that. Did you drug me?"
"Valley you're not thinking clearly must be the medi-"
"No! Its not my medication! I don't even know you!"
"Valley I-"
"Did you bring me here to kidnapp me? Are people coming to kill me? I'm leaving!" Valley exited the tent with no pants or shirt and started to head back to the road.
"Wait!" Valley gave the finger and continued.
"I said wait." Hailey said in a dominant tone and Valley suddenly felt her knees lock. Something or someone was controlling her.
"What the hell?"
"Valley, I'm sorry it has to go this way. I was hoping-"
"Somebody help! Somebod-"
"Silence" Valley tried to scream again but no sound came out. She looked back to Hailey, terrified.
"Im sorry you're having to go through this. Here's how its gonna go, you are going to transform into a raven in a minute or two. My name is Hailey but this isn't me"
Before Valleys eyes Hailey underwent her own transformation. Her breasts retreated slightly into her chest as she lost some height. Her features softened and when it completed she looked to be in her early twenties.
"Im gonna give you the ability to speak and move but please don't scream."
She snapped her fingers and Valley fell to the ground. She looked up at Hailey and retorted
"I dont know what kind of drugs you've filled me with but-" she looked at her arm as she felt and itch. On her left arm was a single black feather. Not laying on it but actually attached to it. She pulled at it only to feel a sharp pain. As she watched more feathers sprouted down her arm. With each feather she grimaced but as soon as they reached her hand something else happened.
Her fingers merged together to form a single appendage. Only then did she realize it was real.
"P-please don't do this to me. I have a life! A career!"
"Don't worry, Pan's already sorted everything out. All your clients belive they've been using a different realtor, your family only remembers your brother. Its all packed away."
"I want to talk to Pan, please!"
She looked at her foot and saw three sharp talons poke through her sock. With her good hand she reached down and removed the sock. To her shock her ankle was covered by a corse yellow layer of a scale like texture.
"Im sorry, no can do. Pan's pretty busy and doesn't worry about stuff like this. I can take a message though."
"Please tell him to stoooaaaawk!" She grabbed her mouth and felt as her lips began to hardnen and push back against her hand.
"I'll tell him that, here's this." She handed a small mirror to Valley who looked into it. Her face also had jet black feathers on it, removing her hand revealed a small beak forming. Three more talons burst from her other foot as she pleaded once again
"I caaaaw! I caan't be a raven! I'm a human!" Hailey walked over and removed Valley's undergarments. Looking into the mirror Valley saw her face was covered in feathers and her mouth had finished becoming a beak. Her other arm followed the first as she dropped the mirror. Trying one last time she tried to plead
"Caw! Caw caw!" No matter how hard she tried she couldn't speak. So, she reached out with her wing and touched Haileys hand. But as she reached out it became harder and harder to extend her arm as they slowly tucked behind her back. She looked down with a shiver of ironic pleasure as her anus and vagina moved together to form her cloaca. Then she began to shrink. She hunched over, her body reforming so she would never stand upright again. As the transformation finished Valley looked down into the mirror and saw her eye shift from brown to purple, she fully resembled a raven. New thoughts entered her mind
'Eggs'
'Nesting'
'Flight'
'Mating'
'Offspring'
While she retained her human thoughts and mind she now had these new impulses and urges. She looked up to see Hailey writing in small notebook.
"Valley, Raven with purple eyes, room..." she checks her watch
"Room a2e365. I'm sorry this happened but try to become acclimated with your new life. Goodbye Valley."
She then faded away, leaving Valley alone.
Well, that's my story. After Hailey left I was forced to adapt to my new body. The first month I would continually hope to just wake up in my bed, ready for my old life. But that never happened. I got used to eating whatever I could find and flying oh flying. If there is any upside to the change (I still want to go back to my old life every day) its flying. Being able to soar through the skies unrestricted is freeing. The area im in is strange because if I fly more than around two miles in any direction I blink and end up back at the (now gone) campsite. I eventually figured put how to build a nest. Its not much, just some twigs in a tree but its mine.
One day I was doing my daily routine when I heard a whistle from bellow me. Soaring down I saw Hailey with a bag of birdseed. I perched on a tree branch near her and stared at her with resent. I continued my gaze until she extended some seed and my bird instincts took over and I automatically ate some.
"Thats better, I'm sorry I took so long to visit. How are you doing? I know its a big change but at least you have plenty of room to fly around. I got you this by the way, should make things easier."
She hung a small bird feeder on a nearby branch and continued
"Well, I'll be back." And she left me alone once again. She still visits every once in a while telling me more about how I'm lucky I still have my intellect and how I could behave been left as a mindless bird. I guess I am kinda lucky. Hold on, I see another Raven approaching my nest. Ooo he's a male, maybe ill get to feel the full bird experience ;)

Chapter 11
Link to the Ao3 work
WARNING: Very Spicy chapter 0.0
Another warning: there is a *brief* mention of something traumatic that happened to MC in the past. It's pretty clear what happened even though I didn't state it explicitly.
"Hey! Oh- you going somewhere?"
After sitting in my bed for ten minutes, I finally muster the courage to get up and get dressed. I keep conjuring up reasons against visiting Julius right now, piling up like a huge mountain in my mind; but one BIG reason is outweighing them all. I'm going to get in so much trouble... can I really just walk in there after I embarrassed him earlier?! But, he's so yummy- YUMMY?!?! Shut up! Shut! Up!
Despite the argument between the angel and devil in my mind, I pull on my pajamas and a bathrobe, then turn towards the door.
I don't care if I get in trouble! I'm going to take this opportunity even if it kills me. I've lived too many miserable years, so it's time that I do what I want to do...
As soon as I push to open it, the door swings my way to reveal Alice coming back from the bathroom, and she's immediately suspicious. One look at my face after her question, and she understands, her mouth breaking into a shit-eating grin.
"You're gonna go see him again, aren't you?"
All hope of coherent response is dashed as I struggle to form words. "W-What if I am?" I finally reply, crossing my arms and looking away.
Alice giggles as she steps inside, closing the door behind her. "Good for you!!! But you have some explaining to do~" She pokes me teasingly in the side, earning an undignified whine from my lips. She knows all of my most ticklish spots. "I did NOT expect to walk in to see you in his bed last night. Also, did you see his bed head? That was so cute~"
"Yes, of course I saw his bedhead." I give up on leaving for the time being and sink back onto my bed. If I get stuck here for much longer, I'm going to lose my initiative. "I slept with him, after all."
"AHHHH!" Alice squeals and suddenly gets right up in my face. "Tell me! What happened!? How on earth did you get him!? Julius is, like, the crown jewel of men! I knew you had it in you but this is huge!!! How was it? What did his dick look like?! Is he better than Lawrence??!"
"Ah! Slow down! I-I can't tell you any specifics-" I laugh nervously as her questioning finally ceases. God, I wish I didn't have to lie about this... Maybe I should just tell her the truth? After all, all those attacks were just in my head, right? But for some reason, I can't bring myself to give up on the guise... just in case... "It was... er- good?" To be honest, I don't know what "good sex" entails so I can't get very specific here. "But... I mean, it's still sort of... happening..." I can't help but smile, my heart doing a backflip in my chest. Maybe tonight... it'll happen for real. And I won't have to lie anymore. "I went to thank him for taking care of me the other night, and he invited me to sit with him for a while... and..."
"You didn't sit with him for very long, did you?" Alice gives me a cheeky smirk, rubbing her chin as she mulls it over. "You're really something... I can't believe it. Elia is going to be so jealous once this goes public-"
"Ah, public? You know I can't make anything public right now..." The reality of the situation starts to fade into my happy, horny haze, Lawrence's scowling face appearing in my mind. "If anyone hears about this-"
"I know, I know." Alice takes my hand and offers me a sweet smile. "I need to be more careful about keeping my mouth shut... Elia is onto you for sure. I promise I'll keep your secret."
I let out a little sigh of relief. "Thank you, Alice-"
"As long as you tell me all the details!" Alice giggles and slaps me on the back a little harder than she had to. "Now! Go get your man!"
"Alright, alright!" I grin back and get back on my feet, smoothing out my robe. "I'll see you... later."
"Hehe, you better have a good time!"
With one last wink, Alice opens the door and shoves me out into the hallway, leaving me to walk alone to the officer's hall.
Oh god...
There's no avoiding it now; my feet are carrying me right up to Julius. Once I arrive at his room...
What's even my plan? Jump him immediately? Or try and ease into it? I guess I can start by apologizing for today... maybe I can offer to make it up to him? Ugh, that's too corny! I don't want him to think I'm promiscuous or anything...
Suddenly, I blink, and I'm already there. Julius's door stands ominously in front of me, a light under the door revealing activity in the room inside.
Here I am... let's do this... I can do this!
Sucking in a breath, I reach up and knock on the door.
Three agonizing seconds later, it opens, and my first reaction is to instantly die. "Oh, hi! I was wondering when you were going to come up."
Julius stands there, smiling down at me as if the event 15 minutes ago never happened, wearing a bathrobe that he's clearly not wearing anything under. It takes every braincell in my body to tear my eyes away from the bit of chest peeking out of the fabric (he's got a little bit of blonde hair there... it's hot) and back up to his eyes in a timely fashion. A moment later, his words hit me. O-Oh? You expected me?" Oh god. His mouth twitches, almost into a more smug smile, but it only lasts a moment. Was I that obvious?
"Yeah! You said you didn't trust Alice, right? I didn't think you were going to stay in your room, so..."
... oh.
"Oh!" So, I wasn't obvious? Or maybe I was, and he's just teasing me now. Julius chuckles at my blank expression before stepping aside and motioning for me to come into his room. "Thank you..."
"My pleasure." Pleasure. His words cause a pathetic little shiver to run down my arms. I awkwardly walk over to the couch and sit down, my legs crossed at the ankles. Come on, stay calm! Remember the adrenaline from earlier...
I squeeze my eyes shut and conjure up the heavenly image I was blessed with earlier. Julius, soaking wet, in that little towel, towering above me-
"Are you alright?"
Oops! My eyes pop back open and Julius is standing right in front of me, hands on his hips. I stifle a little scream and quickly nod. Shit! Too much! "Ah- yes, I'm fine, I'm fine, aha-" I rub my face nervously, avoiding his eyes and every other part of his body. He doesn't say anything for a moment, but the silence is so heavy it nearly starts to suffocate me.
This tension...
It's unlike anything I've ever felt with Lawrence. Sex was a chore for me, something I had to do for him because it was my duty. But now... I'm the one who wants it. And I want it more than anything else...
Does he... want it too?
This all happened so fast, over just a couple days. Just last night, I told him my secret, and he accepted me wholeheartedly, bringing us closer together than ever before. Can just one day of this closeness escalate so quickly?
It feels so right... I'll be screwed if anyone finds out, especially Lawrence, but every inch of the universe is telling me to do this.
"Would you like a drink?"
"...yeah. Please."
We sit there together on the couch in silence, and I steal little glances at him every time I sip the glass of wine he graciously gave me. Once, I catch him looking at me, and we both avert our eyes as quickly as we can. The wine is bitter in my mouth, but feels nice and warm as soon as it hits my stomach. Slowly but surely, the silence becomes more comfortable, maybe because of the alcohol. My heart starts to beat a little fast, and I finally draw in a breath in preparation to speak.
"So... I wanted to apologize."
Julius looks over at me, his eyes narrowing with concern. "Huh? What for?"
"For this morning..." I shake my head, guilt starting to bubble up again like a hot spring. Hot springs... damn, I'd like to go to a hot spring with Julius sometime- HOLD ON. Don't think about that right now!!! "The Captain... I'm sure you must feel very embarrassed."
"Embarrassed? Not at all! There's nothing embarrassing about helping a friend out." Friend? Oof. My stomach turns slightly at the word.
"I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if you were," I answer, staring at my wine glass to avoid his gaze. "You took my side, and Hervey just... shot us down."
"...of course I took your side."
His answer isn't hesitant, it's more sure than any phrase I've heard before. I glance over at him quickly to see him staring pensively at the ground. One of his hands rests heavily upon his knee, and I can't help but feel that it's resisting the urge to touch me.
"I still believe you, you know. Hervey is an ignorant old man who doesn't want to face the truth. There's bad eggs in this squad, and I'm going to smoke them out. After you ran off, I went right back to his office and told him that."
Julius finally looks over at me, and his grim expression melts into that warm, gentle smile. Those lips, and those little dimples... they make me weak.
"Something terrible happened to you, and I won't let them win. You're... special to me. And this isn't the first time someone special to me has been hurt this way."
...special? I blink, staring into his eyes as he speaks. His friend who died... I wonder-
"I'm not going to give up on you. I'm with you to the end."
I suddenly become aware that, somehow, his hand moved over, and is now holding mine. I didn't even notice the movement, I was so entranced by his words, but now he's touching me-
My lack of reaction suddenly hits him, and his hand quickly lets go. "Ah- well-" He laughs nervously, a light blush suddenly appearing on his cheeks. "I mean-"
Without really thinking about it, I reach out and grab his hand before he can retract it all the way, and he freezes mid-sentence.
"... Julius... do you really think I'm special?"
It's inconceivable. Julius, who's basically a perfect man, a powerful mage, and vice Captain... he thinks that I'm special?
He looks almost as nervous as I feel as he finally answers.
"Of course I do... maybe this is not my place to say... I know you're engaged and all... but..."
His voice trails off as he looks up to gaze into my eyes again, where he can see just the slightest glimmer of...
...joy.
I lean in just slightly, and he does too, mirroring my movement without taking his eyes off of mine.
We're going to do it... I'm actually going to do it-
But then, he hesitates, for just a moment.
"...your fianc-"
I don't want to hear about my fiance. I don't want to hear anything. So I cut him off by closing the distance, my lips hitting his to halt his words. Julius freezes up, a little surprised that I made the final move.
It feels like time has stopped. This room doesn't exist anymore. The couch doesn't exist anymore. All there is are his eyes, widened and staring back into mine. But then, finally, even they close, and I close mine as well, letting everything melt away except the warmth from his lips. An arm quickly wraps around me and pulls me closer, so secure and safe, I forget about all the problems plaguing me.
It's bliss. Ecstasy. My first kiss with Lawrence ended with him shoving his tongue down my throat, but Julius is slow and calm, his lips just barely moving against mine yet commanding them perfectly. One of my hands clutches his arm while the other slides up his chest, relishing in the strong, firm muscles there that vowed to protect me. The sight of his skin before made me shut down, but I feel oddly pensive now that I finally have my hands on him.
He's so...
"...perfect."
"Hmm?"
I open my eyes as he pulls back just a little, the word rasping out from the kiss. Julius's eyes crack open a little, and he smiles at me tenderly, one of his hands coming up to caress my cheek. "You're perfect... so perfect." I shiver a bit as his hand slides over my back before hooking around my waist. With one smooth movement, he pulls me onto his lap, our bodies pressed so, so close together. I open my mouth wordlessly as our hips slot together, and-
"I saw how you were looking at me earlier." His voice is suddenly right in my ear as he leans in to kiss teasingly up my neck, and I nearly spasm as his lips ghost around the shell of my ear. His eyebrows pop up for a moment at the reaction, and I feel his grip tighten. "Don't worry... the feeling is mutual..."
"...oh?" It's taking a lot to remain calm right now, opposing forces willing me to either go limp with bliss or start tearing away at him immediately. "I don't know what you're talking about, Julius~"
I feel the hair on his arm stand up at the sound of his name on my lips, barely a whisper. Without much warning, his hand suddenly slides down and grabs a generous handful of my ass, causing me to cry out softly and jerk against his body. I quickly feel my face heating up as he chuckles at the impulse. "You shouldn't tease other men while you have a fiance, you know," Julius whispers in my ear again, having turned the tables with just one movement. His words and touches are still so gentle, but there's a firm undertone to them, letting me know that I'm right where he wants me. "That's so naughty... who knows what I'll do to you?"
"Maybe... you'll do exactly what I want you to do."
It's the truth. Julius pulls back to look at my face again, an almost giddy grin on his face that's both cute and sexy. He's been waiting for this, hasn't he? Waiting for me... I can't help but grin right back. Without another word, our lips crash into each other again, more hungry and heated than before. Julius lets out a soft groan and unexpectedly bucks his hips against mine, drawing a small whimper. Ow... god, he's- oh- My mind starts getting fuzzy as soon as I realize that he's... really turned on right now. His kisses turn almost desperate the longer we paw at each other, one of his hands gripping my ass while the other closes around the back of my neck, holding me there as his lips and tongue just... ravage me.
Ah... this is actually happening...
I rub my hips down into his, which spurs him to suddenly pull his lips from mine. "Look at you... bad girl." He chuckles a little as the phrase halts my movements, and he takes the opportunity to grab the hand that rests on his chest and drag it down his body. "At least do it properly~"
I don't even have to look down to know that he's already pulled his robe apart. My eyes stay fixed on his chest, not daring to travel down his perfect abs as he guides my hand down further... and further...
"...oh-"
Julius lets out a soft breath through his parted lips, his hand helping mine close around his thick-
"You feel that?"
"M-Mhm."
Oh my god...
"What do you think?"
"...big..."
That's an understatement.
Another chuckle vibrates his chest, his hand gently moving mine up and down the shaft. As if he can read the worries that suddenly fill my mind, Julius's voice softens just a little bit.
"Don't worry, it's not going to hurt. By the time I fuck you, you're going to be so wet."
W-wet...
With a stifled groan, his hand starts to speed my movements up.
"Your hands are so soft... so delicate..."
My mind is going fuzzy again.
Fuck...
What feels like a moment later, I'm on my back, him hovering above me. I let out a surprised squeak, since I didn't even notice the movement. "Ah! B-Be gentle-"
I blink, and everything comes back into focus. Julius looks... concerned, almost scared? His robe is tied up again, and he lets out a sigh of relief. "Oh god... are you alright?"
"...what?" I try to sit up, but my head spins and I flop back down. "Wait, what happened? Did we-"
"You passed out, I think..." Julius's hand strokes my hair softly, his expression not changing. "You just suddenly went all cold and limp, and you didn't respond to your name-"
He keeps talking, but the words start to slur together.
I... passed out? What? Why? I squeeze my eyes shut, trying to make sense of it all. It was so hot, being there on his lap with him whispering those dirty things in my ear...
But...
"Hey, hey, don't cry! Ah!"
Julius freaks out for real this time as tears suddenly bubble up from the corners of my eyes. "I'm sorry! I-I shouldn't have pushed you so far, this is my fault, please-"
"H-Huh?" Julius looks like he's about to start crying too, and I quickly come to my senses. "No! No! It's not your fault, I-"
Wait, why am I crying? Why did I pass out? I wanted this so bad, but why was I so...
Scared?
It hits me a moment later.
...oh...
"Julius...?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you just... hold me?"
"Yes, of course."
Before I know it, his arms are around me again, holding me close, but this time there's no heated moments... it's chaste. Comforting. Safe...
More tears leak out.
"I'm sorry for scaring you like that... that's never happened before."
"It's alright. I shouldn't have made you touch me... it wasn't right-"
"No, no, it was right. I wanted to." I squeeze my eyes shut. "It's just... I think... my body just sort of... shut off..."
Julius is silent for a moment, his hand still stroking my hair softly. "...do you know why?"
"...yeah."
Lawrence...
The tears start to get hot. Bitter.
"My fiance... he's five years older than me... so I had to grow up a lot faster than I should have..."
I don't really need to say any more. I bite my lip to stifle more tears as the arms around me tighten protectively.
"That's horrible..."
I bury my face in his chest, just relishing his warmth.
But, Julius... do you have any idea how much you've helped? Just by being here?
"I'm so sorry. I'll be more careful next time, okay?"
Next time...
For some reason, my face starts to heat up with shame.
"Right... I-I should get going."
"What? I thought you were spending the night here-"
"No one's gonna murder me in my bed, Julius."
I start to pull away, but his grip is much too tight. My weary, exhausted body can't muster the strength to free myself right now.
"No, you're staying here. I can sleep on the couch of you want, but I don't want to put you in danger."
His lips press against my forehead for a just a moment, but it's enough to make my heart flutter. Such a brief yet tender gesture... yet more love than I've ever received from Lawrence.
Love...
That word scares me.
"Alright, fine." I sigh and pull away to scowl up at his handsome face. "You can sleep with me if you want... just please put on some pajamas!"
Despite the seriousness of the moment before, we both burst out into giggles, and I close my eyes when he leans his forehead against mine. "We can talk about all this later... but just know..." His hand squeezes mine gently.
"I'm very, very happy."
His words stick with me long into the night, after we both curl up under his covers for a long sleep. I've never actually slept next to someone before, but it's nice...
Yet, I can't shake the dread that laced this whole evening.
Please... I'm praying... let all this turn out okay.
I finally drift off to sleep, Julius's light snoring soothing my mind as much as his strong arms around me.
To be continued...
