Letâs get to it shall we?
So, I have studied the drawing for a bit and ended up coming up with around six relevant things that are probably symbolism
First is the mirror- it is cracked though it mostly is intact, the cracks all originate from the same point in LBMâs reflection: their eye. Mirrors tend to be good for identity symbolism, showing a characterâs reflection and all, so thinking about it like that and seeing the state this mirror is at we could come to the conclusion that it probably means LBM has identity issues. This will come back later
Next is the fact LBM is making a gesture of shooting herself, which kinda makes me concerned for his mental health tbh. I see this as potentially symbolizing LBM not liking themselves or at least holding some sort of grudge towards himself. Or maybe itâs meant to be like the past them is dead or something, idk
Next is the fact the mirror is cracked over the eye it never opens, which Iâm starting to think is actually missing. Now, I donât know how you differentiate your Bloodmoons but I have seen others and myself use the âtwo eyes-two twinsâ method, so like one twin has one eye and the other the other, and if you do this as well then the implication here is that one of the twins is dead. Which I think is true actually because of the drawing you dropped when I asked you for lore the other day (which I saw but forgot to reblog :()
Next is something Iâm not too confident on and am purely adding âcuz I think itâs funny. So the yellow stains yes? They seem to be magic of some sort, though their most notable feature is that theyâre yellow, and according to the Bibble yellow is the color of betrayal. And deceit and illness in the negative side too I guess. Feel free to disregard this one :P
Next I want to turn to the background on the reflection. Itâs all destroyed and thereâs magic flying and stuff, which probably means LBM is in a really dilapidated place, or she lost her temper, or Iâm overthinking, idk Iâm not good at catching thematic symbolism
Next letâs look at the Lordâs expression. Vacant. Empty. Iâd say maybe even melancholic. This just strengthens my conviction of one of the twins being dead yâknow?
And finally, what I asked about before, the flowers. Red Anemone Flowers have a plethora of meanings, as is standard for a lot of flowers, and thanks to your answer from a bit ago I could narrow the potential meaning a bit. First the slightly more unlikely one, emotional attachment and fragility, two of the Anemoneâs meanings in Japan, tied to what we saw before and the fact a mirrorâ aka a very fragile thing âis in the scene we could get a somewhat emotional view at LBMâs state, seemingly missing someone who they cared for deeply. Then we have one Iâm almost 100% certain you intended for, death and loss of a loved one, it just fits so well with everything else, LBM, the bloody god, thinking back on his past and mourning the (potential) loss of their twin, holding resentment towards themselves for it and the environment showing that. And lastly the thing you 100% intended for, the blood of Christ, I mean, I mean, câmon almost all the art youâve made for this guy has heavy religious tones, why wouldnât you use the flower that represents The Christâs death?
So, putting this all together, I think I can string together the lore thatâs being implied here:
Lord Bloodmoonâs twin is dead, they mightâve died on their own terms or the Lord mightâve been involved someway, who knows, what matters is they are dead. And Lord BM, not being very fond of emotions but anger, doesnât tend to show how much it affects him, mostly turning all the emotions into itself, maybe even having the feelings grow into self loathing stemming from guilt? It affects her, badly.
So yeah thatâs my reading
I Am so sorry if I got it all wrong :(
Tbh Iâm not very good at symbolism; foreshadowing and implications of the past and characterization are a lot more fun to play with for me personally, and I kinda sucked a lot at catching symbolism in school assignments, so if I got everything terribly wrong I apologize
Requests?!
Lord Bloodmoon Lore
Or uh, Lord Bloodmoon as a stained glass window? Anything Lord Bloodmoon
Or canon BM in a field of flowers I guess
Or your main in Dandyâs World?
pew pew

plus these goobers
i main Rodger and Finn (Rodger for public runs and Finn for solo ones)
i like extracting a lot, so i like Rodger a lot! in the future id probably end up being a Vee player tbh,,
Finn is just fun because hes fast LOL. dont think i could play as him in a multiplayer lobby because i tend to get a bit.... reckless with him pfft

#also#the thing about spoilers that I love is that unless the entire story is centered around a big reveal. spoilers don't ruin the viewing#and even then. a good foreshadowing means that when you know what's coming you can appreciate the build up to it#I went into arcane having watched an hour long analysis of the themes (unbreakable bonds of love. thanks osp) and as such knew the plot#but that just made it even better. being able to see how they would build up to each character climax#anyway any film that relies on no spoilers for it to be good.. isn't actually good#tag talk

The sheer number of times Eddie is mentioned when Buck comes out to Maddie has been pointed out time and time again. Some take it as a sign that Buck is subconsciously in love with Eddie, some see it as foreshadowing for these two to be romantically involved in the future, while others simply think it's an Easter egg left in by writers as a nod to shippers.
The way I see it, there is a reason why Eddie keeps being brought up in this scene, but it's not what you think.
If you've rewatched this scene as much as I have, you'd remember that Buck actually isn't coming out to Maddie on purpose in this scene. He originally goes there to talk and ask for her advice, because he feels bad about the hot chicks incident when Eddie walked in on him and Tommy at the restaurant.
In fact, he fully intends to keep the identity of his date hidden. He can't even risk Chimney getting wind of it, in case he or Eddie puts two and two together and figures the whole thing out.
Maddie is always there to talk things out with her brother, but she would never turn down a chance to gossip.
He completely dodges Maddie's question and quickly changes the subject. He needs to tell Maddie the full story of his disastrous date, but he can only refer to Tommy as his date, or "this person". The more he does this, the higher the risk of slipping up, Maddie would likely ask more questions about this mysterious person as well, so Buck frames the whole narrative around the only person he can safely refer to: Eddie (and Marisol, but she isn't important in this story).
Maddie picks up on Buck's secrecy, now she really wants to know who this person is and why Buck refuses to reveal their identity. Buck again immediately shuts it down, and brings the topic back to Eddie.
While I'm sure Buck feels bad for lying to his best friend, especially when there's no reason to expect Eddie reacting with anything less than acceptance, when Buck starts actually talking about his behavior and what upsets him the most, it isn't really about Eddie. He's ashamed of himself for lying right in front of Tommy. In fact, he's so upset over Tommy cutting the date short and leaving him on the curb that he accidentally uses a gendered pronoun.
Maddie "I am 9-1-1" Han makes a career out of being a good and thorough listener, so of course she notices the pronoun. From this point on, the subject of the conversation shifts from Eddie to Buck's newly discovered sexuality, and later, Tommy.
Buck knows he goes to Maddie because he feels bad, but he still hasn't fully processed the fact that he's into men too and what it means to him. He's still calling himself an ally, a supporter of queer people, but he's confused as to why it doesn't seem to apply when it comes to himself. Maddie correctly points out that he's no longer just an ally, and the recency of his discovery might have been the cause of his strange and panicked behavior during the date.
This is the prime example of acting turning the same line into different meanings. The first "wow" seems to me like Maddie is finally connecting the dots. She practically raised her brother, it's not unlikely that she has previously witnessed Buck having boy problems. I feel like it's a "wow, everything makes so much sense now" wow. It looks like Buck takes a little offence at it and asks Maddie to clarify what she means by "wow". Maddie tells him it's more like a "wow, this is a nice surprise" wow.
Oh, boy is completely clueless. Maddie is just trying her best to keep up with Buck's increasingly oblivious statements.
Buck suddenly brings up Tommy, probably because he hasn't been able to stop thinking about him since the kiss. Apparently, he's so attracted to Tommy both physically and as a person, it makes him realize his interest in men, something no other has achieved thus far. Maddie recognizes the name her brother has been harping on for the past few weeks.
Poor Maddie must be so confused. First her brother and husband-to-be keep talking about how cool this pilot who saved everyone is, then he becomes Eddie's friend and Buck gets all jealous about it. Most recently, Maddie is horrified by Buck's action on the basketball court, because he only has a history of hurting himself to get someone's attention, not the target of his attention seeking. And now Buck has gone on a date with Tommy? So Maddie decides, one step at a time, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Buck initially tells Maddie about lying to his best friend and how he feels like a fraud, so she tackles (no pun intended) this part first.
If you come into this scene with preconceived notions, the word "feelings" being in proximity to the name Eddie may seem like to you that Maddie is pointing to "Buck's misplaced romantic feelings towards Eddie". But if you put these lines into context, Buck simply isn't sure of how he feels about his bisexuality in general. In fact, the only thing he's certain of in this entire conversation is his attraction to Tommy. Maddie also isn't bringing up Eddie out of the blue because she thinks her brother is secretly in love with his best friend. Again, Buck originally does want advice about lying to Eddie, albeit partly using his name to avoid revealing his date's identity, so Maddie gives it to him now, no need to read too much in between the lines, especially after the "wow" exchange.
Now that the Eddie stuff is out of the way, Maddie can comfortably gossip about Buck's new hot pilot crush. And Buck looks absolutely smitten at the mere mention of Tommy.
Eddie is undoubtedly a very important person in Buck's life, and it must be killing Buck inside for lying about something so important to his best friend. Though in this scene, Buck seems to be mostly using Eddie's name to circumvent the necessity of mentioning Tommy's name and to deflect any probing question about his identity. Once he accidently lets it slip that he was on a date with a guy, he pretty much drops the whole Eddie act entirely.

now you're a stranger (and i'm still july)
ďš season three of "come home"
a lot can change in a year, and when summer comes to hawkins, you think you're finally okay with this idea. you've settled things with jonathan, nancy is now your friend, and steve harrington calls you angel. then dustin intercepts a secret russian code and your grand plans of you and robin teasing steve all summer, and maybe even falling in love, all come crashing down. (meanwhile all steve wants to do is ask you out). (but the russians complicate things). (as usual).
episode one: suzie, do you copy? - you help nancy sneak through jonathans window, the party uses you for your "in" with steve, and you sorta become the reason dustin almost blinds lucas. meanwhile, steve tries, and fails, to make you his girlfriend (this will happen all summer), but have no fear ! dustin intercepts a russian code and makes everything even harder for everyone. what a sweet brother <3
episode two: the mall rats - dreams are weird, billy is a hitchhiker, and hopper flirts with joyce in front of you (youre not sure which is scarier), somehow robin knows russian and has genius ears, you get caught in an awkward breakup showdown, and you shamefully are shocked when you discover that hawkins is anything but normal. you would think youd be a pro at this already, but at least steve is hot and really good at sneaking through windows.
episode three: the case of the missing lifeguard - dustin blackmails you for $5 and then dubs steve as boyfriend material for you, robin cracks yet another russian code, you all almost waterboard yourselves after sneaking onto the mall's roof, you have a sexy nervous breakdown, and jonathan takes you for a drive in his sick car.
episode four: the sauna test - dustin has some brotherly concern for you (dont tell anyone though), steve is offended you dont think he can fight, nancy gets upset during therapy hour, robin encourages child endangerment, erica becomes your hero, and you lose your lunch on hawkins makeshift tower of terror (aka sketchy russian elevators).
episode five: the flayed - you have the worst birthday of your life, you almost strangle steve with your bare hands and then later get snot all over him, erica is your savior, dustin is doing his best, robin starts to suspect things, and the russians have opened a gate to the upside down. its all pretty miserable tbh. but hey ! at least steve won a fight !
episode six: e pluribus unum - things get hot and heavy in the face of death, mean russians kidnap your hot almost-boyfriend, you have a philosophical discussion about nerdiness with the kids, acid becomes your new favorite weapon, and steve and robin try drugs together. yippee !
episode seven: the bite - steve and robin are your nightmare blunt rotation, you manage to escape a russian lair: mario cart style, you learn that therapy sessions are fun in public bathrooms, steve places your brother on the russian fbi most wanted list, el probably just killed a bunch of people (deserved), and reunions with jonathan are always special when one of you is gravely injured.
episode eight: the battle of starcourt - jonathan becomes a certified surgeon, hopper returns and is oddly sentimental (wonder what that could mean !), you and dustin show off your musical theater talents, the mind flayer becomes a track star, fireworks become weapons, and really a lot just happens so suddenly it gives you whiplash. dont worry though, the rest of your summer involves painful goodbyes and the scary realization that youre growing up. absolutely disgusting. but at least steve gets to kiss you whenever now, so hooray for that ! side note: you keep making promises to people, surely there wont be narrative foreshadowing as a result !
â set between seasons 3 and 4
episode nine: the good - the party battles the horrors of high school and leave you stranded, tw: applying for college is harder than fighting literal demons (you would know, youve done it), jonathan joins your nightmare blunt rotation, max worries you, and steve solidifies his position of Best Boyfriend in the World as you slowly fall apart (though is anyone really surprised ??).

The Ineffable Mrs Sandwich
So. Mrs Sandwich.
I've been wondering at her relevance. I put a post up a bit ago about the signs at her front door that rang honking great foreshadowing bells: "Come Upstairs" and "No pairs. One only. Be Brave" on a wall surrounded by stars. Not to mention they now have a âNew Modelâ with âFriendly Handsâ up there.
In the party, she says something to Aziraphale that made my brain jangle because of all the meta that I've been eating: [her girls] stand on their own two feet. Initially I thought this was a sex-work joke, but there's the fact that at the beginning of the season, both lads are completely co-dependent, especially Crowley who talks about "my only friend". By the end of the season, the boys are separated and they will be forced to stand on their own two feet for the first time since 2500BC.
Throw into the mix that God's department is always referred to as "upstairs" and Mrs Sandwich is the only person shown coming down from an upstairs to a ground level that has a chandelier, much like Aziraphale's bookshop also has a chandelier on the ground floor, directly over his contact point with the almighty.
"I don't know why you invited me," she says and Aziraphale makes a point that she's part of their world, even if she feels she's separate from it. Then you have the seamstress conversation and yes, maybe she is a brothel madame, but the fact she can't say what her actual role/position is has very ineffable vibes to me. A convenient way to mask her real identity/purpose.
When Crowley walks her out the party, he says "Have you got your hand in?" and she replies "Oh, I've got more than that, love." which would track for the person who was playing three-card monty with the universe. Since they're so careful with their dialogue, between all of this and her calling Crowley âa good ladâ?
Add the fact that her "girls" upstairs can tell when Nina is unhappy when making coffee and that one of the drinks she orders almost matches the order by the Metatron, who has professed to consume human food/drink. His version has almond syrup instead of hazelnut and almond is symbolic in the bible for watchfulness and promise of a new season. (However, interestingly, some Biblical translations of hazelnut and almond mean the same thing)
And what is a sandwich if not two separate sides with something in the middle?

The Things I Never Said: Part 3
Pairings: Simon 'Ghost' Riley
Summary: You're required for one last mission.
Word Count: 2.5k
Tw: aaaaaangst, hurt with a lot of comfort. injuries, mentions of blood, kissing and slightly suggestive but nothing too explicit. price has to make a hard choice:(poor grammar, bad english ofcđ
đť foreshadowing to my price fic 'salvation' if you squint.
A/N: i'm not gonna lie, when i wrote the first part of this fic i was bored and never in a million years did it cross my mind y'all would like it this much. sorry if this isn't as good, this is the final part of it, although i plan to write little drabbles every now and then. this was such a nice ride đŠˇâ¨ thx for the support; remember english isn't my first language, corrections are welcome đ¤đ¸
Masterlist⨠Part 2
Desk rotation wasn't fun, but it seemed to be the only suitable work for you considering your pregnancy, besides, it would allow Simon to keep an eye on you. At least he's sure you'd be safer in the military base than alone in your home.
Your only companion as you sit in the tech room is nothing more than a computer with two screens and Jimmy, the other tech guy who sits in the far corner across from you.
True to his word, Price had saved you and Simon a horrible martial court plus being discharged. Technically you're no longer a part of the 141 task force which is already upsetting to all of your team; instead working strictly under Price's command and assisting the different branches of the military. Meaning you're no longer subdued to Lieutenant Riley, therefore you're not his subordinate, at least not directly.
You respond to Price and only Price.
Nearing the end of your first trimester your swollen belly has started to show, the same you try to dissimulate by wearing bigger shirts than you would usually wear, but enough for Simon to notice when he'd place a big calloused hand on your stomach.
'It's... tiny.' He had stated, to which you laughed softly.
'Of course it is, your hand is massive!'
You shake your head, with a small smile on your lips as you remember that scene.
"Everything good?" You ask your companion.
"Mhm. You know you're the best for creating the security system right? Not a single breach or flaw. Couldn't ask for a better partner."
"Is that a chai?" Completely ignoring what he just said you point the white disposable cup next to him. He looks between you and his drink.
"Yeah? Didn't know you liked it, here... have it. I can get another." He assures you when you hesitate.
You thank him with glowing eyes and excitement. Cravings... you're embarrassed of the amount of food you've asked from Simon in the middle of the night. Sushi, pizza and even peaches just for the sake of the baby.
He's being the gentlest man on earth. Caring and supportive. Your phone buzzes as you're about to start to work. The screen lights up with a message from your Captain. Huffing you stand up, letting Jimmy know you'll be back in a few minutes, or so you thought.
You're not prepared for the hell unfolding inside John's office.
You're able to hear male voices from the other side of the hallway. You don't know why but your heart begins to race, knocking twice once you've reached the brown wooden door.
"Come in!" Price shouts from inside.
You open the door, greeted by John's hardened eyes and Simon's back as he hunches over the Captain's desk. Confused and much to your dismay there's a gigantic folder between the two men, your eyes fall on Ghost's trembling frame.
He is enraged.
Body buzzing in anger as the soft click of the door interrupts the silence that's fallen suddenly inside.
"You wanted to see me Sir?"
Price slowly stands, Simon doing the same, turning his head ever so slightly to watch you from over his shoulder.
"I need to talk to you, sweetheart." Price begins.
A deep breath exits Simon's chest.
"What is it?" You take a step closer to them, until you're standing next to him, crossing his arms over his chest he remains silent.
"We need you. For a mission." He states. "It's important, sergeant. I don't think anyone else would be able to pull this off." Your eyes dart back to your boyfriend. Staring daggers at his superior. "I'd never ask for this if I had to."
"Bloody hell Price, she's not fucking going!" He is seething.
The gut-wrenching feeling sets in your belly, tossing and turning with anxiety. Simon isn't taking this well and you don't want to see him like this, it breaks your heart.
"How important, Sir?" You ask.
Ghost snaps his head towards you. Jaw tightening, and calls your name ever so softly.
"Don't." He barks. "Don't fucking play the hero, kid." He warns you.
"I'm not trying to play the hero, Simon." You talk back. "I'm trying to figure out how to get this done. I might have someone else that could go in my place." Price sighs. "Can I do it from the base? Maybe I don't have to leave the compound."
"Reports say the files are heavily encrypted. It's the Russians, sergeant. We're not dealing with amateurs." He turns to Ghost emphasizing the last word. "You more than anyone should understand, Lieutenant."
"Not when you're bloody sending her to a suicide mission!"
"These are not my orders Simon! General Shepherd wants her! I tried to talk him out of it. I can't do much more, son." You swallow when Simon starts pacing around like a rabid dog, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Is there any way I can do it? She can guide me through it the whole time..." he's back, leaning closer to his Captain. "I know I...-"
"Unless you know how to code and decrypt systems to perfection it can't be, Ghost. I'm sorry."
"It would only slow down the mission, get you caught. And in danger..." you reasoned, mumbling and staring down to your feet. There's no one else. Not even Jimmy. The one you had in mind.
Simon's mouth snapped shut.
His eyes are helpless when he connects them with yours. The realization of what's about to happen sinking in his core, he tried. He really did.
One long stride and he's embracing you, so tightly you think you'll suffocate; you hug him back, head resting right over where his heart beats frantically against his ribcage.
"I'm coming with her." He snarls. "Not Kyle, not Johnny. And certainly not someone from fucking KorTac." He turns to glare at Price with a death stare. "It'll be me, no one else."
-
"John's devastated." You tell him. Your back pressing against his hard chest. The water in the bathtub is warm, and smells like lavender and sandalwood. After the catastrophic meeting a few hours ago, Simon was too outraged to remain at the base so he drove both of you back to the safety of his apartment. You rest your head on his left shoulder, enjoying the delicate touch of his hands on your lower belly. He hums, almost absentmindedly. He didn't want to think about Price, or the mission for all that matters. All he can think of is you. He sighs, closing his eyes he presses a kiss on your hair.
"Bloody fucking bald cunt." He spits. You snort at his comment. Shepherd was a complicated man, and hardly one you could negotiate with once he had his mind set on something or someone.
"When do we have to...-"
"Tomorrow." Your lips are pressed into a thin line. "I'll be there no matter what, right next to you, love." He reassures you. You were never one to hesitate during missions but now... releasing a shaky breath you turn your head to look at Simon.
"I'm scared..." Simon's body goes rigid. The hand on your stomach halting. "It's not even for me, you know?" Swallowing your free hand reaches down to find his own, lacing your fingers with him. A muscle becoming prominent in his jaw as he grits his teeth.
"Nothing will happen to you. Bloody count on it, yeah? First shite I deem dangerous I'm pulling us out of there, understand?" You nod.
"Promise me you won't get hurt." There's a moment of silence that becomes unbearable the longer it extends. "Simon..." his eyes are fixated on yours, shining with what you can only describe as worship. The faintest of smiles spreads across his features.
"Don't you worry about me, sweetheart. Not for one second." Breathing deeply you pull him down for a kiss. It's slow and tender; makes you forget about all the difficulties you face. Biting down his lip, Simon takes it as a sign to further deepen the kiss. Tongues finding each other in a fight for dominance. "Don't wanna think about what tomorrow holds. I have you here right now. That's all I need."
-
Your mind goes back to the moments you and Simon shared last night. It was so simple, so real.
That's how things were supposed to be.
Easy.
Not heart wrenching, not stifling down a cry as you watch him get shot. A bullet that was aimed at you .Breaking in had been easy. Way too easy for your liking. But you thought that for once maybe a mission wouldn't be a pain in the ass. The hardest part was getting inside their systems; John was right. It was hellish even for you. It took more time than what you had anticipated. No one would've been able to pull it off.
"Whoever is behind this, they're good." You acknowledged as you type down the codes that will eventually get you in.
"Bloody brilliant you are, kid." Simon watches from the other side of the room, eyes scanning the hallway every now and then looking for any possible hostiles. You send him a coy smile.
"Keep looking at me like that and I'll get no work done."
"How am I supposed to look at you then?" He asks
You don't answer because the screen in front of you suddenly shifts from 'Access denied' to 'Access granted'.
"Got you." You whisper. Simon stands straight. You plug your USB and start downloading all the information as well as setting a virus so their system gets permanently damaged.
"What is it?" He gruffly asks when the files finished downloading on your own device. Clearing your throat you try to ignore the horrible pictures you just took a glimpse of.
"Just... insanity." Is all you can say. A loud metallic sound echoes in the room, you never get to see the person behind you. Ghost's eyes widen and he barks an order your ears don't register, static fills your eardrums. The gunfire starts but lasts mere seconds. Crimson blood splutters from Simon's body.
You stand up, knocking down the chair as you jump out and run where Simon's injured body kneels. You fall down grabbing him by the face. The pain you're feeling deep inside has never been worse.
"I'm fine." He hisses. "Just my fucking shoulder."
As if that would make you feel better.
"Let's get the hell out of here." Your lips quiver. You run back to retrieve the small USB drive.
The body of a man lays down, a pool of blood forms around him. He was hiding behind you the entire time. Had Simon been distracted the outcome could've been atrocious. Yo don't dwell on it.
"Come on, baby." You urge him, crouching down to help Simon as much as you can to get him standing. His weight is just too much for you, you think, when he finally raised to his feet.
"S'okay love. Don't... don't overwork yourself. I'm too heavy, don't wanna get you hurt because of me."
Tears form in the corner of you eyes at such selfless act.
"You're the one who got hurt because of me, Simon." You stammer.
"So what? Would fucking die for you." You shake your head but keep close to him. Pressing down the wound on his shoulder as you head towards the exit. "Evac point is ten minutes away. We should be fine." The gun that rests on your thigh feels heavier than it should.
You're lucky, you guess as you walk away from the god forsaken building.
Lucky that you have him by your side, even when his blood stains your fingers. He's there, you're there and you're making it out alive. Wounded or not, Simon would never let anything happen to you, that's how deep his love for you was.
He wasn't like his dad at all.
He was real, caring, something not much people knew. Not in their lifetime.
The amount of blood he was losing was inhumane. An injured shoulder couldn't cause someone to lose this much blood, you ponder. Your black shirt feels sticky and damp, you take a quick glance and hold back a sob. Another gunshot wound, one he didn't care enough to tell you about and you didn't notice, too scared to even think.
Far in the distance between two big threes a black truck awaits. Johnny's face dropping when he noticed Ghost's decaying form. He rushes in your direction, taking him off of you, carrying his weight. He gives you a concerned look.
"Johnny..." you choke up. "We have to save him, please."
-
It's been the worst 48 hours of your life since you landed. He got two surgeries done in order to remove the fragments from inside his body. You were exhausted, barely ate or slept. It almost felt criminal, selfish, when your eyes started to close and finally gave in.
Then the nightmares came.
Ones where he didn't make it back and instead you had to leave him behind and never got to meet his child.
A warm feeling spreads from your skin. A faint touch. Are you still dreaming? His face erupts in your subconscious mind and you cry again. He's fine.
When you slowly open up your eyes you're met with blue eyes and a raspy voice.
"Don't neglect yourself for me, kid." You're speechless, the searing pain in your heart eases. He knows you so well. Knows you haven't left his side. "Takes more than a bullet to keep me away from you." When you don't move nor speak he continues, clearing his throat. "Come here, sweet thing."
There's a new wave of tears that fall mercilessly down your cheeks. You carefully climb up next to Simon's good side.
"Don't you ever scare me like that!" you weep. Sobbing uncontrollably Simon hushes you. Murmuring words of comfort in your ear. The anesthesia is still making him feel dizzy but that doesn't stop him from kissing every part of your face. Your hair, your forehead, your cheek and finally your lips.
"Let's leave this place for a while. Go on vacation while we still can..." you beg.
Simon's lips twitch. He's smiling down at you.
"What do you have in mind doll?"
You breathe deeply.
"Greece. I always wanted to go to Greece."
There's moments in life when you doubt you'll get a happy ending. Being with Simon at first was pure coincidence, something that had evolved from deep admiration and respect, which then turned into something more. It turned out to sleepless nights at the common room with the task force. Longing stares during briefings. Looking after each other during missions.
The training sessions together. Lending his massive leather jacket because you were always reluctant to bring your own. That one night he couldn't resist it anymore and went to your dorm. How you felt under his touch, oh he was touch starved when it came to you. And when he learned he was going to be a father, that moment would be ingrained into his memory until his very last day.
"Greece it is."
It's a promise.

Chapter 17 foreshadowing/why I think Fushiguro Megumi might be in love with Itadori Yuuji
I've never understood the reason why Gege will add that line of Todo (i mean the special mention of the "it can be a guy")
The idea could've been perfectly understood even if the line wasn't added, but Gege purposefully sat on their desk and decided to draw this panel and add that specific line.
This means opening the possibility of Megumi liking guys, right?
I might be overthinking this, but text and dialogs are super important in mangas. Practically everything that it's said has (or should have) a purpose .
Dialogue scenes move the story forward, for instance, by giving important information about the characters, their relationships, the milieu, and the evolving events; they can also build suspense and reorientate the narrative.
So why then adding this?
We've seen several times that Fushiguro often thought of Itadori as a kind personâeven since the beginning.
(It's literally Itadori being described)
If we go back some chapters, we can easily notice this is how Itadori is first introduced in the Manga: as a compassionate person, a good person with the intent of helping others.
In fact, Compassion its a highlighted feature Itadori has always showed through the entire series.
Even at Sukuna's final moment, he shows himself compassionate offering help to him.
Many had thought Itadori fits that description of Megumi, and now I'll explain why I think this is a possibility.
We know the relationship between them its centric in the story âit practically started because Megumi decided he wanted to save Yuuji.
We've see them caring for each other over and over again, many decisions they take are influenced by the thought of benefiting/trying to help the other.
And then we got Itadori really trying hard for an entire arc to save Fushiguro, and when the opportunity comes, he tells him it's okay if he doesn't want to live anymore, but at the same time addmiting he will miss him if he goes.
This scales to the point its practically the love they hold for each other that helps to completely defeat Sukuna
I would also like to add this panel and why I think Fushiguro was projecting himself with the desire of his sister being with someone like Itadori.
The line is Fushiguro stating he wanted his sister âa person we know he LOVES and thinks very highly ofâ to be with someone as good as Itadori.
He thinks very highly of the two of them.
Theyre both good persons so they deserve each other?
Therefore, he projects himself that way:
He might think it's Tsumiki who deserves to be with Yuuji because she was good, and Yuuji is good too, so logically they deserve each other, right?
He loves Yuuji, but he might not be worth his love because it was him who introduced Yuuji into the jujutsu world (a painful life full of lost and worries).
But maybe someone else might be worth, maybe his sister.
This is how he imagine a perfect peaceful life, he's trasmitng and projecting his desires.
It's not her who wants to be with Yuuji. It's you.
So gathering all the pieces together gives us the big picture, and Megumi's words might feel more like a foreshadowing of their relationship rather than simple words for introducing Todo in the Manga (tho it works in both ways). The response Megumi gives open the possibility for such feelings between the two of them.
So basically, everything we saw to this point that involves the two of them has been development and profundization in their relationship for this last punchline we got of Megumi realizing that he wants to keep trying because its worth living out of love
After all, love IS a centric theme in the story. It's mentioned several times along the series. Gojo describes it as the worst curse, Itadori thinks Sukuna acts that way because of the lack of it. And if we add this new layer, Megumi thinks its woth living out of it.
Ultimately, what's going on between them is inherently loveâ aside if it's or not romantic
I can't fully explain my ideas cause i can't put them in orden, sorry :/
This is just my opinion btw đ¤ˇââď¸ also there's only 3 chapters left so I might end up as a big fucking clown 𤥠literally anything could happen but we'll see
Anyway, tell me your thoughts on this đ
#jujustu kaisen#itadori yuuji#megumi fushiguro#itafushi#itadori x fushiguro#jjk spoilers#jjk manga#or is just me overthinking#jjk#as long as Yuji doesn't end up with a 0 chemistry out of nowhere wife and two kids#cause what he has with Megumi is just beautiful#and if they dont end up together it'd be a completely waste#sir they're in love

mamma mia here i go again with another chapter from my leander thesis đ¤ please accept my humble input on mc's curse, the importance of reading between leander's flirting lines and rss's wonderful storytelling details.
ngl when i finally chose not to touch leander's hand first (can you blame me, i'm weak for that man) i was bewildered at how strikingly different the options in this scene play out, and i, strange as it seems, like this one much better.
first of all, it's a parallel (even if it's not intended, the connection is still there) to the opening scene with a deranged traveler: the touch, the sensations, the (foreshadowed) strangling:
leander is definitely affected by the curse â possessed even, i would say, as if he was being told to strangle mc. notice how his actions line up with the traveler's, only in slo-mo, because leander was fighting to take back the control. and when mc calls out for him, he either snaps out of it or gets to the exact point when he takes a hold of the curse. this brings up a question: could mc's curse be sentient? alter the minds, you say? (more under the cut because it got long)
i've seen people speculating that mc's curse might bestow the enlightment but that's not true: mc was told that (and that's why this origin has me by the throat (pun absolutely intended): imagine living with so much guilt, thinking you were doing good, but in fact driving people mad⌠mmm tasty). it ties perfectly into every origin path where mc was being lied to, deceived and betrayed. however, there's definitely something more to the curse's nature that's yet to be disclosed.
my favourite moment though!! is this nuanced character storytelling!!
the very hand that was inches away from choking mc to death is quickly disguised as caring and soothing. wonder why? to gain mc's trust (non-verbally), to show that leander's in control, he's strong, he's there for mc, he'll take care of them. of course, leander, being a leander, downplays the whole experience of being possessed/affected by the curse, but he's being honest at once. he doesn't lie to mc â and that's also how he's gaining trust, verbally this time.
one more question that begs to be asked: why the hell all of this doesn't happen if mc touches leander first? it seems that the quality of the touch (đ) also plays an important role here:
leander must have felt the power of the curse, but he wasn't possessed by it, he could control it right away â why? because the touch was fleeting? or because it was mc who was touching him, not the other way round?
now hear me out (i might be wrong on this one, because i can't remember any more examples off the top of my head, but i feel like it's definitely a thing. let me know if something comes up!): we should pay closer attention to how leander says the truth (or half-truth), but it could be understood differently at a flirting angle (it's slightly different from this one, where he covers up his misstep). what i think he means here is that he controls the curse, but it sure is a difficult thing to do. "not due to your power" my ass, his need to look strong and heroic and weak at the same time is ridiculous, someone cure this man (ivolunteer.gif)
one more and last thing that's bothering me (it might play into the previous point btw): if you keep touching him, he tells mc that fissures on their hands match his golden pin. why??????? that's such a dumb thing to flirt about, such a weird comparison. what kind of connection is there? it's so out of place, it definitely means something more. leander spill
#touchstarved leander#ts leander#leander#touchstarved#touchstarved game#i've spent 6 hours on this instead of sleeping my love for this man...... is huge just like his huge naturals#anyway!! as always come to talk to me!! there are so many things we can speculate about!#also if you remember more examples bring them all onnnn#lmao i feel tainted with my love for leander just like the warden in my previous reblog#i need this game right now i cant overanalyze the scraps anymore#(i can but i love whining)#ts meta#touchstarved theory#ok im rambling i need to go to sleep already#**ts

âÂˇË ŕź * if you get lonely, think of me only
warnings: major foreshadowing, more kissing at the end, vulgar language, I got lazy trying to end this because Iâm awful at ending fics
pairing: percy jackson x daughter of hades and persephone
series master list
âwhat? I donât- I thought he was with dad?â
nico shrugs
âokay, okay. well I need to change out of this, will you give me a moment?â you say referring to your wedding dress
your brother nods and closes the door behind him. you quickly change out of your wedding dress to your âcasualâ dress. you give percy a sentimental look and a peck to his lips
âIâll be back in a minuteâ another kiss and youâre off
for percy however, he doesnât like that you left him- your boyfriend- for another man- your soon to be husband. would following you be too possessive? perhaps, but his jealousy got the best of him
your walk to the foyer was entirely nerve-wracking, many questions fill your mind. why was he here? how long would he be here? would the wedding be sooner than anticipated? was the wedding called off? was your father back?
when you catch sight of your soon-to-be husband- what was his name again? tristan? travis? triton? troy! you knew you would get it some day
he waits by the door and even as you were far enough that you could barely see him, his ocean scent was strong, almost suffocating when you stand directly beside him
âyou wanted to see me?â you cross your arms
a smirk appears on his mouth âah, yes. your father thought it would be a good idea for me to get to know my wifeâ
âwhat?â
âI suppose you donât understand those words yet. talking to younger women is uselessâ he mutters, but his next words are back to normal volume âhe wants me to get to know youâ
âwhat the hell do you mean by that? weâre the same age are we not?â
âwell yes⌠my last wife was much older thoughâ
âyour last wife? does my father know you were married before me?â
âof course he doesâ
you run your hands over your face as a way to relax âokay. thatâs fineâ
itâs not fine. you want to see him publicly executed
âso when are you freeâ
ânever if itâs to see youâ
âyour father wouldnât like the way youâre speaking to meâ
âwell forget him! I donât give a shit what he thinksâ
âI didnât know princesses used such vulgar languageâ
âwell they doâ
silence
âwell, seeing that this conversation is getting inappropriate for a married couple Iâll be in the parlor, come find me when youâve maturedâ
he brushes past you, gone, get the ocean still lingers. you take one last look at your surroundings before walking back to your room
on percyâs side of things he hides behind a nearby pillar, close enough to see, too far to hear. however he can always tell the mood of the conversation by your demeanor, this time furious. he watches you attentively for absolutely anything, any small details at all. he doesnât know this man, not at all, but when the pungent scent of the sea fills his senses he knows he doesnât like him, and he has a legitimate reason this time. had your father purposely set you up with this boy?
when he sees you walk past the pillar he hid behind he swiftly- yet stealthily- rushes back to your room in an attempt to beat you there for a âIve been here the whole timeâ appearance
when he arrives at your room he flops down on your bed out of breath and you make your arrival only moments later
he sits up (âact casualâ he reminds himself) âwelcome back, princess. whatâd he want to see you for?â
you roll your eyes at the reminder of your unbearable future husband âI donât want to talk about it, heâs absolutely absurd. somethingâs off about him I swearâ
he doesnât ask any further questions. for one reason because he knows better than to anger a daughter of hades, and another: because he respects your wishes unlike your soon-to-be husband. regardless if both of those factors he hated you marrying another man. he deserved to be the one marrying you, not some idiot who doesnât treat you right
you lay down beside percy in his propped up position. he takes advantage of this and places his lips on yours; passion and jealously-filled
âhate that youâre marrying another guyâ he rasps against your lips âdoesnât deserve youâ
he puts his free hand on your waist to pull you closer, because for him your bodies being any more than one inch apart is utterly preposterous. he puts one leg in between yours as the kisses get more heated. your hands tangle in his hair, pushing him almost impossibly closer to you. gods- your lips would be so swollen tomorrow morning

"The Last Temptation": One Megathread to Rule Them All - Clues and Speculation, PART 3
9) How will Sauron prove his love for Galadriel?
We are back, and we are cracking the code here, we are cooking, and I want to thank @justacynicalromantic; @pearlstomyeyes and @historical-romances9, for their ideas, and with whom I wholesome agree. And there's foreshadowing to back it up.
In both Part 1 and Part 2, we already discussed some crucial points leading to âThe Last Temptationâ scene: (1) Sauron in love with Galadriel, (2) Galadriel having conflicted feelings for him in return and (3) her seek him out alone at the finale, and how the director of the finale, Charlotte BrändstrĂśm teased on âX-Ray Visionâ podcast:
I think Sauron even really loves Galadriel and you see that at the very end.Â
The season seems to be building towards:Â
Against all warnings, Galadriel will seek out Sauron alone at the finale;Â
Sheâs ready to sacrifice herself (based on the visions of Nenya in 2x04, my bet is that Galadriel knows sheâll die in her duel with Sauron, but will go to fight him anyway);
Sheâll 100% want to destroy Sauron, and there is no doubt in her mind (especially after seeing first-hand what he did to Celebrimbor, in 2x07).
Sauron will somehow prove he really loves Galadriel (to both her, and the audience).
The question is: how?
As Iâve mentioned on Part 2 of this megathread, I donât think visions alone are enough to put this point across, because Sauron will always look/sound manipulative by showing Galadriel visions of Halbrand/âwhat could have beenâ/or whatever.
He can show her all the same, but I donât think that will be *the* proof that he truly loves her, and that everything they shared before (when she believed him to be âjust Halbrandâ)Â wasnât a deception on his part.Â
Morgothâs iron crown isnât only a means to lure Sauron out or to used as a mere "sword", as weâve seen on the trailers. And, as Iâve discussed in Part 2, my bet is Galadriel will try to test Adarâs theory that Morgothâs iron crown + Nenya can destroy Sauron for good.
From this âBehind the Scenesâ teaser, we know that Galadriel will get Nenya back, and has it during her fight with Sauron in 2x08.Â
I already talked about this being Galadrielâs plan in Part 2, but I will develop it here. With that being said, and as @justacynicalromantic so brilliantly observed, Morgothâs iron crown is not a MacGuffin, but the Chekhovâs gun of the plot. The iron crown is a very powerful object, infused with Dark magic (maybe Blood Magic even) who has the power to destroy Sauronâs physical form, as weâve seen in 2x01. Â
Now, prepare for strangeness and to be mind-blown because Morgoth's Iron crown is fatally wounding someone at the finale (coming full circle). And there will be some healing involved, to save this characterâs life. Now, this sounds out of âStar Warsâ (and I'm not sure if Iâm a huge fan of this myself), but stay with me. Â
In 2x04, we already saw that Nenya has powerful healing properties, when Galadriel saves Camnir from a fatal Orc arrow wound, before heading to fight the Orcs alone, and allowing Elrond & co. to escape back to Lindon and warn Gil-galad the Orc legions are marching towards Eregion. Â
(This screenshot looks terrible because I had to up the brightness otherwise, we wouldnât see anything).
We have two possible scenarios here:Â
Either Galadriel stabs Sauron with the iron crown, regrets it, and heals Sauron;Â
Or Galadriel accidentally scratches/stabs herself or Sauron does, with Morgothâs iron crown during the fight, and is dying, but sheâs healed by Sauron (hence proving his love for her).Â
My main problem with being Sauron getting stabbed in this scenario: (1) we already saw that happening; and (2) it wouldnât prove to the audience and to Galadriel that heâs actually in love with her. And I do believe Galadrielâs mindset going into this fight will be to destroy Sauron, and so I donât see her regretting stabbing him, nor leaving him for dead.
My bet: Galadriel is the one who gets fatally wounded by Morgoth's Iron Crown.
This season, thereâs already been a female character dying of poisoning by an Orc arrow (R.I.P. Bronwyn). And as Arondir explains to the audience, in 2x03, Orc arrows have a foul substance the flesh doesnât forget (couldnât find the actual quote). So: can this be foreshadowing? Â
With Orc arrows the poison is slower (Bronwyn didnât die right away), but what of Morgothâs very crown? The Dark magic on it itâs 10000 times stronger. Meaning, a mere scratch can be enough to be fatal, even to an Elf. So, I can definitely see this mirroring Frodoâs Morgul wound from the âFellowship of the Ringâ, leaving Galadriel at the brink of death.Â
Now, will Nenya come into play in this scenario?
I think it can go both ways, really. Because Sauron is a powerful Dark sorcerer on his own and heâs a servant of Morgoth, so he doesnât exactly need Nenya to save Galadrielâs life. But maybe heâll have to use it? The magic on the crown can be so strong, that Nenyaâs power might have to come to the rescue (meaning Nenya's healing powers in 2x04 are also foreshadowing to this scene).
This would make Galadriel âtouch the darknessâ for real, because with Frodo the wound from the Morgul-blade never fully healed throughout the years. So what will happen to Galadriel if she does get stabbed by Morgothâs iron crown, and is healed by Sauron himself? Unless the power of Nenya acts as counterbalance to this.
Can Elrondâs choice come into play in this scenario, as well?Â
If Elrond isn't forced to make this choice in 2x07, I think this scene will be it (especially since fans have already noticed "Elrondâs theme" on the "Last Temptation theme").
Elrond can witness Galadriel get wounded by Morgothâs Iron Crown and falling down, and have to face the choice between saving her life or stopping Sauron (in the future), just like he promised her in 2x04. And, in this scenario, he would eventually choose to save the Elves, and leave Galadriel for dead.
Where do we go from here?Â
As Iâve already speculated in Part 2, I think Galadrielâs true feelings for Sauron will either be: (1) explicit portraited or (2) highly implied in this scene, and thatâs why Magda Walma aka âthe Polish reviewerâ believes that Celeborn wonât ever in âRings of Powerâ (he will, but Iâm betting no earlier than Season 4 or even Season 5, to help Galadriel heal from all of this).
In this scenario, I can only see two possible outcomes, really:Â
Either Galadriel willingly goes with Sauron at the end;Â
Sauron goes away by himself, and leaves Galadriel behind, unarmed and saved (further proving his love for her).Â
Either way, and even if these theories arenât true, I think itâs safe to say we can expect an insane and highly emotional scene between Sauron and Galadriel at the finale. I donât believe for a second, sheâll outright resist him again. Itâs not what the season has been building up towards.

The bonus chapter that ended Nessian
This is honestly really surprising to me. Apparently there are people out there that think Nesta and Cassian are going to end up together. Have they not read their bonus chapter? SJM effectively ended them.
First of all, the way they think about each other is not romantic at all:
Cassian has no idea where he stands with her, and as you can see, he is so unhealthily obsessed with Nesta that he can't stop thinking about her and literally rushed to interact with her even though she doesn't even like him and is mean to him! If Sarah wanted this be be romantic, she could have made totally different choices. We could have learned they shared secret touches or looks, have their fingers trembling or breath catching around each other. But no, just confusion and unhealthy obsession on Cassian's part. Honestly, he kinda seems like an incel here.
Worse than that, it's clear he obviously only lusts after her:
He literally has not said one thing about her personality! He's just weirdly obsessed with her boobs and her scent and is just thinking about her stroking him. If we were supposed to have gleaned he has real feelings for her, and not just lust, couldn't Sarah have added something more sweet and personal here? I don't know. Maybe he could have brought her a thoughtful present that shows how much he sees and understands her when no one else does. But no. He just wants to get laid and touch her boobs. Honestly, ugh.
And let's not even get started about the Mor thing!
Cassian slept with Mor because he was jealous of Azriel! And if you recall, in ACOMAF Morrigan said Cassian just wants what he can't have and it has driven Cassian crazy for centuries that Mor never wanted him again after they slept together once. Rhys confirms this too.
Nesta clearly is not interested in Cassian. In fact, she knees him in the balls right after this. Honestly? This actually seems like a really toxic perpetuation of the Mor situation. Cassian yet again wants what he can't have, and it is actually in the canon text that he has this problem. Also, notice that he's ashamed of this situation and embarrassed to tell Mor about it? That's not a very good setup for a romance. He should have the full support of his friends and family in order for Nessian to work.
He calls himself stupid, he knows it's wrong, he just doesn't care for a moment because of the lust. Again, Nesta knees him in the balls. Not interested. Take a hint you creepy incel! And even though he was fully planning on devouring her lips, he is clearly not anymore!
But here's the real nail in the coffin:
Nesta forbids him from coming back. She threatens that she'll scream if he does and she is only willing to work with and talk to anyone but him. How is he supposed to get around that? How is their relationship supposed to develop if he is forbidden from talking to her and seeing her? I just don't understand how this is supposed to resolve in the books. At least hundreds, if not a few thousand of the tens or hundreds of thousands of SJM readers have read this bonus chapter. There's no way to come back from this.
Also- did you notice in ACOFAS Nessian's same drama is still playing out, but SJM interestingly enough introduces a character named Emerie and they have a scene together? Seems like SJM is clearly telling us Nessian isn't happening and setting up a new love interest for Cassian. Based on their limited interactions, it's actually really obvious to me that they are a much better fit and there is already a ton of foreshadowing that they are endgame. In fact, I think they are mates!
I swear this has nothing to do with the fact that I dislike Nesta. I mean, do I dislike her, and do I think Cassian deserves better? Yeah. But that's not relevant here. What's relevant is text and foreshadowing and the fact that I don't like Nesta and think Cassian deserves better because I've self inserted myself into Sarah's writing and want her to do what I want and I don't want Archeron sisters I don't like winding up with a bat boy I love.
Wait no... Ignore that second part I didn't mean to type that out.

How to write a good plot twist
By Writerthreads on Instagram
I know plot twists have been a highly debated topic recently (ahem Disney twist villains), so I've decided to make a post on writing a strong plot twist that feels natural yet shocking. Hope this helps!
Make it unexpected but expectable
Unexpected: The best plot twists shock the reader, but they should never feel random or out of the blue. If the twist feels completely disconnected from everything that came before, it can seem like the author is forcing it for the shock value. To make it unexpected, you could lead characters down one path, only to reveal later that things are not as they seemed. However, try to avoid a twist that feels like a deus ex machina, where a sudden, unearned event resolves everything.
Inevitable: While the twist needs to be surprising, it also must feel like it was always meant to happen. This means leaving enough clues or subtle foreshadowing that when the twist is revealed, readers can look back and say, âah, that makes sense.â
Keep characters consistent
Twists that involve characters acting out of character are incredibly frustrating. Even in a surprising twist, characters should behave aligned with their established personalities, motivations, and goals. A twist shouldn't have a character suddenly acting against everything the reader knows about them unless thereâs a reason, like a hidden motive.
Think about your characters' desires, flaws, and inner conflicts, and use them to drive the twist. For example, a twist where a seemingly loyal friend betrays the protagonist should stem from a believable motivation that has been hinted at throughout the story.
Foreshadow, not broadcast
The best twists are hinted at, but subtly. Readers should be able to piece things together in hindsight, but not predict the twist well before it happens. It's easy to explain but hard to do successfully!
To make this work, use small, seemingly insignificant details that later take on new meaning. These could be lines of dialogue, symbolic objects, or minor events that have a deeper purpose. However, be careful not to overdo it. If the clues are too heavy, readers may guess the twist early.
Subvert expectations
A twist should challenge what readers believe about the story or characters. Playing with readersâ assumptions is a powerful tool. Lead them to expect one outcome, then deliver something entirely different, yet believable.
Consider what tropes or narrative expectations youâre working with, and how you can flip them. If readers expect a traditional happy ending, throw a wrench into it. If theyâre expecting the villain to be defeated, reveal that the protagonist is actually aligned with them, or the villain wins (temporarily or permanently!).
Without spoilers, a good example would be Gone Girl!
Heighten the emotional impact
A plot twist should have emotional weight and alter the stakes of the story. The emotional response from your readersâwhether itâs shock, sadness, or even excitementâdepends on how well youâve developed your characters and story. If the twist doesnât change anything meaningful or deepen the conflict, it may feel flat or pointless. The twist should add emotional layers, making the story richer, not just surprising.
Time it right
When you deliver a twist is crucial to its impact. If itâs too late, you risk leaving too much time for the plot to lose momentum afterward. Conversely, if it's too early, and it can feel rushed or not fully explored.
A twist can come in the middle, shaking up the entire plot (e.g., changing who the villain is or shifting the main goal), or closer to the end, forcing the reader to reinterpret everything. However, leave time for the characters to respond to the twist so it doesnât feel unresolved.
Don't overdo them
Too many twists in a single story can exhaust your readers and undermine the narrative. If your plot is constantly shifting directions with twist after twist, readers may feel like they canât trust the narrative at all, which could work well if done purposefully, but otherwise might make the readers get tired and stop reading.
Test it out
Getting feedback from beta readers can help you fine-tune the twist and ensure it lands as you intend.
Some questions to ask: Did they see the twist coming? Did it feel believable? Did it enhance the story or feel forced?
Their reactions can help you adjust the twist until it becomes a masterpiece!
Hopefully these tips help you with your writing! Do you have a favourite plot twist in literature or movies/ TV shows? Let us know in the comments :)

So someone pointed this out on reddit and my mind is kind of blown right now
Look a little closer at what Miles says about his uncle to Earth 42 Aaron in this scene
"[Uncle Aaron] looked out for me. He did a lot of bad things, but.... I knew he wanted to be good. He just didn't know he had a choice."
What Miles is saying to Earth 42 Aaron here is almost outright describing Gwen's situation.
Gwen didn't think she had a choice in following Miguel's orders, something she even says word-for-word to Miles in the deleted 'construction site' scene. In Gwen's own misguided view, she thought she "looked out for" Miles by not telling him about "Canon Events" and that he's considered an Anomaly, knowing it would only hurt him and potentially endanger his dimension, if not even the multiverse if he knew. But as we know, keeping that to herself backfired horribly on her. Like Gwen herself recounts in the opening narration, she messed up with Miles and hurt him despite that never being her intention, you could say she "did a lot of bad things" (of course, Gwen didn't work as an assassin for Kingpin out murdering people so this is obviously not an exact comparison, but you get general idea and how it serves as a parallel). Gwen lied to Miles and told him things like she shouldn't have come to see him, and Miles ultimately breaks off their relationship, because Gwen did "a lot of bad things" to him. Again, the words he describes his uncle with intertwines with her.
like look at this part: Miles: "I knew [Uncle Aaron] wanted to be good." Gwen:
What's ironic is Miles' words describe Gwen more than they do uncle Aaron. Does Miles actually know that Aaron "wanted to be good", but felt "forced" to become The Prowler? Perhaps the comics answers this about Aaron and exactly why he became the villain working for Kingpin, but it can probably be inferred that Miles believes his uncle didn't believe himself that he had other options for a better life than that, and if he did, surely he'd choose different? Either this is true, or it's Miles' own kind and forgiving self that keeps him from thinking anything else about his beloved uncle. Perhaps it's also helped by the fact that over a year passed and Miles calmed down from the whole revelation and trauma and had time to consider his uncle's situation. So while this is unclear about 1610's Aaron, we, the audience, know this is precisely Gwen's situation. She truly wants to be good (and she obviously is, but she made mistakes under Miguel's indoctrination and her fear of being sent home, which she later fully acknowledges - heck, her acknowledging this is what the movie starts off with), but she believed that she didn't have a choice in doing what Miguel ordered. Lord and Miller themselves describe the moment Gwen witnesses Miles' bravery and defeat of Miguel on the space train as the "catalyst" Gwen needed to break free from his control (neat little detail about that scene there for those who didn't know). So what's the meaning or conclusion of this parallel? Miles himself is probably not aware of the similarities he's describing with Gwen, and this might be a subtle foreshadowing that he'll come to this realisation when she explains herself to him. I'm sure many dramatic moments will happen between Gwen and Miles in Beyond before they fully reconcile, this would only serve as a part of it. One way to look at it though is the fact that Miles still loved and (apparently) forgave uncle Aaron, so chances are he still loves and is going to forgive Gwen too (after she has earned it, of course, but I have no doubt that she will). And if someone's gonna be like "well of course he forgave uncle Aaron, he was his family, it's gonna take much more to forgive Gwen", I mean... Aaron was an assassin who outright murdered people. He was co-responsible for the death of RIPeter. He was even going to murder Miles himself, a child, before learning his identity. Make no mistake that just because Aaron was a cool uncle to Miles and ultimately spared his life, it doesn't mean he "wasn't so bad". Aaron was a villain through and through, and the fact Miles still loved and forgave him despite that he nearly killed him, shows tremendous heart from Miles. This is also just the character of Miles and Spider-Man in general. Spider-Man has (from my memory at least) always been an understanding and forgiving hero who would even forgive his enemies if they showed him that they repented.
And make no mistake again, Gwen will have to earn Miles' forgiveness, but once he has the full context of why she did what she did, and she likely has proven through her actions just how much she cares for him as well, there is no question that he ultimately does so. I just know that the writers are working on one incredible reconciliation between them that will likely leave us in tears by the end of it. The only problem is just waiting for whenever we get to see it 𼲠Anyway, I guess this became a small rant, lol. I just saw someone point out the way Miles' description of his uncle parallels Gwen's situation and wanted to make a post about it. Just another one of those details that continues to make this movie so incredible. And of course more hidden details for ghostflower shippers to latch onto, lol.

Dungeon Meshi Quick Reacts
CH.28 (Red Dragon)
I'm sure nothing will go wrong from here on out! :)
Okay, but she worked hard using illegal magic! She deserves this! I support women's rights, and women's wrongs.
Oh. Oh I see.
Is THAT what the kids are calling it these days...?
File that under 'foreshadowing I'm sure will come back to haunt us all later'.
Ah, yes. Tell your cleric girlfriend about your forbidden wizardry. Or don't. Actually. Maybe don't.
distract, discombobulate, overcome. Eyes up...there... Falin....
YOU DIDN'T ERASE IT YET???? MARCILLE, THE PLOT--!!
No bag of holding, huh? Well, I guess you'd need a bag of colding....
At this point, the fact that Chillchuck is still... well... chill? Is really shocking to me personally. He just takes it all in stride.
She did it for love, you guys! It's fine!
"My motives are noble! Anyway, if you ever tell a soul about this--"
uh oh.
Senshi, how could you not have known?!?!
Do we have to resurrect you too now?! Is Marcille's list of crimes going to just keep going up?
oh, apparently not. Why does SHE look surprised?
I guess when you create a body for your girlfriend using a dragon, which is inherently magical.... you kinda supercharge her?
Congrats on your easy bake oven! It's conveniently made of... meat?
So... it's philly steak sandwiches? From dragon?
I mean, what did you expect? She's Laios' sister... of course she'll eat it.
Also, come on Marcille. Several hours ago you were elbows deep in dragon gut, doing a 3D jigsaw puzzle with her digested bones. You can stomach this.
Just think of it as Falin being partially inside you................
I damn well told you. And look at Laios' smirk! He knew she'd be down.
Chilldadchuck is back at it again with the side eye.
He's not even impressed lmaooooo
B-but... but your little buddy! You would drown it just like that?! It hasn't even done anything malicious to you! It was just trying to survive!
..............Press X to doubt.
You know the uh. The contrast between that upper left panel and the bottom right is. Quite. Quite there. That's quite. Different.
ohohohoh Marcille what an unexpected turn of events! No way around it I'm afraid! Bed sharing is the only way.
This is the strongest display of emotion we've seen in Laios in a while. It's. really so telling. And what a good shot.
YOU DIDN'T FUCKING ERASE IT?!?!?!? HOW HARD COULD IT HAVE POSSIBLY BEEN--WHY-- NOOOOO!!!!!

Alternatives to Six Hundred Strike (ported from reddit)
There's been a lot of controversy about the first half of Six Hundred Strike. I'll admit, I'm not a particular fan of how it went down, but this is no shade at the animator -- they did a really good job and I did like it as an animation. I just didn't like the narrative of Six Hundred Strike, the jet-pack, and the like. So, this post is probably one of many talking about alternative interpretations for how Six Hundred Strike could've gone.
Godly Assistance. This is the most common headcanon: Odysseus was aided by the gods in defeating Poseidon. Top pick is usually Ares, though I've heard that Hermes could've helped out, or Hades, or even most if not all of the gods during God Games.
Anyone could come up with a motivation to explain any number of gods helping Odysseus.
Ares, because he was promised bloodshed and he will have it, or... because he respected Athena's sacrifice.
Hermes, because he is always helping Odysseus out.
Zeus, because he felt bad about what he did to Athena and decided to make it up to her.
The other gods in God Games, because, golly, Athena got them invested.
Yada, yada. Honestly, depending on what other sources of aid anyone ascribes to Odysseus, he probably only needs one god on hand to help, especially if we're going with the more "human" interpretation of the gods.
Poseidon's Trident. This one I feel like is under-considered. Poseidon's trident is a symbol of power, and I'm not just talking about in Percy Jackson. It is a weapon forged by the cyclopes which he uses as a catalyst for many of his godly feats.
It wouldn't take much to have Poseidon's trident be an object of power in and of itself. And, if it is, that means if Odysseus gets that trident out of Poseidon's hand, he's taking away a source of Poseidon's power. Furthermore, you could even have Odysseus himself empowered upon wielding the trident, which, if he takes it *during* the battle itself, would better justify how he was able to defeat Poseidon.
This can be alluded to without being stated in the animation. All we need is a look of "oh shit" panic on Poseidon's face when he's disarmed. It would give us enough information to know that losing his trident is a big deal -- and it can be foreshadowed in the Circe Saga if Odysseus disarms Circe's wand / staff in Done For.
Spirit of the Dead. Someone mentioned that Odysseus has his choir back up during Six Hundred Strike, and it wouldn't be that hard to assume that Poseidon summoned the spirits of the dead to torment and drown Odysseus.
"But the dead are Hades' domain!" Yeah, but they're also the dead who died at sea -- or at the hands Poseidon's own son. Polites and the six others who died at the hands of the Polyphemus. The five hundred and fifty who died at sea. Though it was Zeus' lightning bolt, you could argue that Eurylochus and the rest of Odysseus' crew still died at sea. And I'm sure we all know that Odysseus' mother drowned herself at sea, too.
About the only person who didn't die at sea was Elpenor, but, considering Odysseus' mother is there, he was easily replaced. Honestly, just makes the tragedy of Elpenor even funnier. Bloke didn't even get to invited to the fight.
Anyway, how does this help Odysseus? Well, what if whatever spell Poseidon was using to conjure and enthrall those who died at sea was, in part, broken by Odysseus opening the wind bag? Or, following my discussion of the trident, what if Odysseus disarming Poseidon broke the spell? Or, what if Odysseus wielding the trident himself broke the spell? As much as some might hate Odysseus, everyone would hate Poseidon more. It would take no convincing for them all to turn their wrath upon Poseidon.
The Wind Bag. Who knows? Maybe there was something more to the Wind Bag than just holding the storms of Poseidon inside. Regardless, opening the Wind Bag could've served Odysseus more than just serving as a jet pack (which, by the by, could still be a thing, just... maybe he's clutching onto it, instead of wearing it upon his back?). If the opening of the Wind Bag was surprising enough, and Ruthlessness showed that it could be, it very well could've distracted or even discombobulated Poseidon enough for Odysseus to act.
In Conclusion. In my platonic ideal of Six Hundred Strike, it would be all these elements that came in clutch, one after the other, that ultimately helped Odysseus defeat Poseidon. Ares would give him his second wind, which lets Odysseus get the second wind bag, and using the second wind bag (and the strength Ares gave him) he would've disarmed Poseidon. Then, wielding the power of the trident, he and the six hundred spirits at his command would've just beaten the shit out of Poseidon. And all of this segues nicely into Odysseus stabbing the shit out of Poseidon.

He Knows - Simon "Ghost" Riley Pt. 24
An: This is it!
Word count: 2134
Warnings: none :)
The curtains in my living room window look different than I remember them last. Like someone moved them ever so slightly to see a better angle of my driveway. I sit here now, the car in park, but still humming with life because half of me believes if I turn it off now, Iâll foreshadow my own death.
The other half of me considers the advice from an online therapy forum I read a few weeks ago. Advice I doubt is from a real medical professional or has been proven to be true. Advice that should be prescribed in person and by a real therapist: The chances of a âonce in a lifetimeâ event happening more than once in your life are so slim it isnât worth worrying about it happening again.
Sometimes itâs enough to ease my mind, but not tonight.
However, with a deep breath and a certain heaviness settling on my shoulders, I twist the fob and observe the silence that falls over the car as the radio shuts off and the cool air vanishes.
By all means itâs a beautiful evening. The sun is setting and a sweet floral breeze brushes the hair off my shoulders. Itâs an early start to the season with the crocuses done blooming and the lilacs having already started. The house I rent is in a small southern town occupied mostly by the elderly and a few young families who wanted to escape city life. Children are expected to be home right around now. Itâs a safe community where most people are comfortable occasionally forgetting to lock their doors, or they simply donât bother to begin with. I will never be one of those people. Thereâs a reason I had to change my name and move halfway across the country. Once you enter the protection program, there is no forgetting to lock your doors.
My hand clenches around the switchblade as I step through the side door. Inside, itâs quiet and the room takes on the golden hourâs warm glow. I walk through the house, sparing a quick glance inside each mostly empty room. Nothing stands out.
As I approach the kitchen, the tension in my back starts to ease. The bag drops off my shoulders and onto the table. I set the knife on the vinyl countertop and flick the kettle on. See? Nothing to worry about. Itâs nice enough to take my drink out on the back porch and watch the rest of the sunset.
My attention switches once again to the vibrant sky out the window before I tear myself from the sight for a tea bag and a mug. The rumble of the water grows, yet when I hear the click indicating it should shut off, it doesnât. It hasnât even boiled yet. My breath catches in my chest as I freeze in my tracks, still facing the pantry. That wasnât the kettle at all. It wasnât the fan in the room over or some other appliance coming to life. That distinct sound, that click, belongs to one thing and one thing only. That was the safety taken off a handgun.
My knife is out of reach, still on the counter. I glance for anything I could use to defend myself in the pantry, but thereâs nothing but boxes of cereal and cans of soup.
âI figured this would happen at some point,â I say to the figure in the corner of my eye, pointing the gun. âYou people donât tend to leave loose ends.â
âWe donât,â the dreadfully familiar voice confirms. I was hoping to never hear from him again. Especially not in these circumstances. His tone holds the same seriousness as the last time we spoke, after my fatherâs death. He told me then that Iâd be lucky to never see him again.
Iâm still not sure I understand what that means. Maybe Iâm about to find out. For some reason, I donât feel nervous. Iâm ready to accept my fate.
Nothingâs felt real the last several months. My life has been stuck in limbo and despite my futile attempts, Iâve been unable to find any sort of meaning. Everything feels hopeless in the grander scheme of things. So if heâs come to take my life, I might even welcome it.
âGood thing youâre not a loose end,â Captain Price spares a small smile as he steps out further from the corner. Had I passed him on the street, I donât know that Iâd recognize him. From his worn jeans to his black windbreaker, the man completely blends in as a civilian.
âPut the gun away and Iâll try to believe you,â Price tilts his head to consider, then nods. The weapon slides easily back into its holster. Itâs not like heâd need it anyway. Iâm not exactly a formidable opponent.
âFair enough,â his attention drifts to the box of Earl Grey in my hands. âAre you making tea?â
âWant a cup?â I offer, sliding the lid off the box.
âI would. It was a long trip to get here,â I know what heâs talking about. The few hundred people that live here, chose this place because its hours away from any of the neighbouring cities. People come here to get away from the city life. It has the bare necessities and thatâs all they need.
âItâs a long trip to anywhere down here,â my voice feels empty. Void of the passion and desperation that once fueled every decision. Steaming water covers the teabags and fills the cups. âMilk or sugar?â
âBlack is fine, thanks,â Price grunts as he settles into a chair at the kitchen table. In the time Iâve been here, Iâve used the table maybe twice. âDo you like it? The peace and quiet?â he muses.
âItâs different than New York,â I hesitantly offer as I set the cups down and take the seat across from him.
âAh, but do you like it?â Our eyes meet and he knows the answer. âI didnât think you would. You took well to the chaos of our world. Despite having no former training, you adapted in a way that most couldnât,â I didnât realize Price paid that much attention to me. I always assumed he was too preoccupied with the rats and the Russians.
The sweet tea dampens my dry mouth. I take a second sip to buy myself more time. What kind of answer is he looking for? Why is he here of all places? âI always like the business of New York. I guess thatâs one thing I found similar between it and 141,â he ponders my response for a moment and a heavy silence blankets the room.
âDo you miss it?â his question feels redundant. Price has had the time and practice to become more patient than I will ever be.
âYes â look as much fun as Iâm having here, you know with you breaking into my house, pointing a gun at me, and drinking my tea. Why the hell are you here, Captain?â
âIâm here to offer you a job,â I blink. A job? Thereâs no way they want to hire me after what I did. How can they possibly look over the fact that I killed one of their highest-ranking prisoners before they could get any information from him?
âWhat kind of job?â
âWell I was thinking in our translations department,â Price says. âYouâre fluent and have prior experience in this setting. And your history with the Ultranationalists gives you an edge. You also held your own incredibly well last time with no formal training. Give it a couple of months and you will become incredibly valuable to our team.â
Once the shock wears off, Iâm almost flattered by his last comment. Thatâs high praise coming from Price. However, Iâm also slightly amused. Thereâs no way he genuinely expects me to say yes. Does he really believe Iâd just drop everything and work for 141? Surely not.
Yet, what is there to drop? My admin job at the town office and the zero friends Iâve made since moving to this place? The only people I talk to are those I work with and they arenât allowed to know any real information about me or I risk exposing my true identity. Â Everyone I once knew back home is off-limits. If they knew I was alive, I would be in even more danger than I was before. Even my mother doesnât know of my existence. I was dead to her as soon as I killed my father. She would never want to talk to me again. She might even give up my location to the Ultranationalists herself.
Then thereâs how I left things with Ghost. The last time I saw him, I was in a pool of my fatherâs blood. I donât want to think about how much trouble he got in from letting that happen.
âI donât know that your head interrogator wants anything to do with me,â I say assuming he doesnât know Ghost willingly gave me the knife I used to kill my father.
âWhys that?â he says with raised brows as though heâs clueless. Price plays the role well, however heâs anything but.
âI lied to him and used him to get to my father. Iâm a thief and a murderer.â
âThose were extreme circumstances, y/n.â
âIf I work for you there will always be extreme circumstances,â I respond. âWhat makes you think you can trust me anyway? I betrayed you all.â
Price shifts in his chair. He takes a moment and gets a real good look at me, like heâs making sure. The shadows around his face have changed slightly. The sunâs gone now, but a fading blue hue falls over the horizon.
The windows are closed, but even if they were cracked, you wouldnât hear any outside noise. This town is uncomfortably quiet. The wood creaks as Price leans forward again. âTime after time, y/n, you had almost every opportunity to betray us. There were the interviews, the ambush, the rats, the exchange, and even the death of your father. His killing was not a betrayal. None of the information he had would have made a difference,â Priceâs list stirs unsettling memories. He notices and adds, âThe only betrayal was that of a father to a daughter. You deserved better: loyalty, trust, truth, to be wanted.â
That last word finally cracks something in me. My heart falters and I take a sip of tea in an attempt to hide the effect of his words.
âYeah, wellâŚâ the words trail off. Iâve got nothing else to say.
Something scuffs along the floor in a room over. Had there been any other noise I wouldnât have noticed it. The sound was unmistakably human. Like someone was leaning against the wall and could no longer wait. I thought I cleared the rooms, but I was already wrong once. Nothing else follows for almost a minute until the floorboards whisper at the edge of the room. My head turns just as the shadow emerges around the dim corner.
âWe want you, y/n,â Simon Rileyâs coarse voice fills the room. When our eyes meet, I forget how to breathe. My joints stiffen and my feet turn to lead. His demanding presence completely fills the room and even in civilian clothes, Ghost looks like he belongs on a battlefield.
For a moment it truly feels like I am looking at a ghost, at someone who was as good as dead to me. Someone who, an hour ago, I would have guaranteed I would never see or hear of again.
All the memories Iâd been trying to forget over these past months begin to surface. I remember the heat of his rough hands on my skin and the pressure of his arms wrapped around me. The brush of his breath past my ears and down my neck. The stability he provided when my whole world was collapsing around me. The way he risked his life for mine countless times. The way he trusted me to make the ultimate decision when it came to my father and my future. He has always wanted me. He has always chosen me. Now, it's my turn to choose.
Nothing has been the same after learning about the Ultranationalists. Itâs impossible to be happy when you know the truth. Part of me feels responsible for the horrible things my father has done. I also know I will never be content here. I canât keep hiding, but I can help. I can work to remedy the evil that has corrupted my family.
âDo you want tea?â
The end, for now. Thank you for the kind words and support throughout this story. If you are a returning reader, thank you for your patience.
