“congratulations mom and dad, it’s a healthy baby girl.” the doctor confirmed for both of you while the nurses worked to clean your new born. your skin was sweaty, baby hairs stuck to your forehead, legs were shaky from being bent for the past hour. you’ve been in the hospital since last night once your contractions started.

but you were a mom now. you birthed a babygirl and you couldn’t be happier with your life. turning your head to the left with a dazed smile, stood spencer with the widest smile you’ve seen on his face to date. “a girl. we have a little girl,” chuckling from glee.

“we have a girl,” he repeated as he leaned forward to kiss your forehead and tuck some of your hair away. “i want her to be just like you,” very confident in the chances of that happening.

spencer shook his head, “for your sake i hope not and for my heart i hope she looks like you.” a gentle finger tracing over your nose, the shape of your lips. “well i only hope she doesn’t get your puppy eyes, it’ll be her one power over both of us.” staring directly into said eyes right now.

“alright, she’s ready for you.” a nurse walked to your right side with your baby, now wearing a pink bow. “would you like to do skin to skin? helps her recognize you through touch. also good for the dad as well.” waiting for either to reply first.

“i’ll go first.” shimming your hospital gown away from your shoulder and chest so there was enough surface area, “i have a feeling i’m gonna fall asleep soon, but i’m gonna hold her until i can keep my eyes open.” holding your hands out to take her then second guessing and getting them in the cradle position but still not sure, “uh, which is better?” asking the nurse who hovered.

“i’d say hands so you can lay her to your chest. cradling is better for later.” nodded and slowly took your baby from the nurse and maneuvered her tiny self so her head was resting on your shoulder. “oh wow,” whispering to yourself. it completely sunk in now, she’s yours.

“i’m a freaking mom,” whispering over her back towards spencer. a slow palm rubbed along her back and quickly her breathing synced with yours, her tiny fists were too cute.

there was a little space on your bed and you called for spencer to join you. he sank down slowly and threw a long arms over your shoulder, his free hand caressing your forearm. “what should we name her? we can’t call her fruits anymore.” whispering beside your ear.

your mouth twisted, “i kinda want to name her after something from literature. like juliet or charlotte. do you have any ideas?” turning his way.

his eyes were focused on the sleeping babe, a little smile quirking a corner of his lips. “maybe annabeth. the combination of anna and elizabeth forms the meaning of god has favored me. and i think that works for us as well, we’ve been favored by having her. also anna can mean beautiful and it’s all because of you.” kissing your temple, his kisses have been never ending the past nine months.

“annabeth… annabeth diana reid. our beautiful gift.” pressing her first kiss of many to her head. “i think it’s your turn now. my eyes are getting heavy.”

spencer nervously started to unbutton his shirt and then slowly you traded off. you watched as spencer stood back up and kept a gently motion to his body wanting her to continue napping. he kept his voice low as he recited facts about anything, knowing she’s gonna love the sound of his voice growing up.

“some kid killed a minotaur!” a hermes cabin demigod yelled from near the dining pavilion. glancing up from our glasses of soda, annabeth and I turned towards the voice. “he’s a new one!”

we looked at each other, wondering which god couldn’t keep it in their pants again.

suddenly, a few apollo kids ran out from the infirmary towards the arch near thalia’s tree.

“the new kid’s probably clumsy,” annabeth said.

“he killed a minotaur,” I shot back.

“hey, you can be dumb and strong at the same time.”

“uh huh. whose child do you think he is? I bet it’s one of the big three.” I said.

“no way, they have a pact, remember-”

“do you really think they actually follow that, annie?” I snickered at her.

in a while, an unconscious boy about their age was carried into the infirmary. I only caught sight of his black hair, and dishevelled and bloody look. I decided to visit him the next day to check up on his condition.

the rest of the day was spent reading in my cabin, while my sisters tried new makeup products on our brother, which was quite funny, really.

throughout the next week, I left the warmth of my bed to visit the new kid—percy jackson—in the infirmary. he had begun to regain consciousness.

“who are you?” he asked, sharply inhaling a breath.

“oh, hey,” I smiled at him. “i’m y/n y/l/n. daughter of aphrodite.”

“right. daughter of aphrodite. a goddess,” he repeated slowly.

I realised that no one had explained about camp half-blood to him yet, and took that job upon myself after calling out for will and letting him know that his patient was awake.

“so, there’s gods and goddesses. and monsters. and everything in the greek myths you were taught? they’re all real. at camp half-blood, we’re all demigods—the children of a god or goddess and a mortal.” I continued to explain to him how the demigod world worked, remembering to talk about the mist, the gods, the cabins, and everything else.

I expected him to not believe me, and call me names (like the other new campers) for lying, but he took it like a champ. he nodded at me, sitting up properly, and asked for something so his arm would stop paining. I immediately got will to help him.

the next week, when I was out by the beach, reading my romance novel about a mortal girl and a faerie prince falling in love after being enemies, I heard sand shifting around behind me.

“who-” I turned around.

“hey, y/n, right?” percy asked, walking closer.

“ah, you remember,” I said, a smile growing on my face.

“well, yeah. you’re really just the only person who has spoken to me normally… and not like I was some intimidating and scary… thing,” he said, running his hands through his already dishevelled hair.

“come, sit down.” I patted the sand beside me. he took his place there, sitting down with his legs criss-crossed.

“what are you reading?” he asked.

I explained to him the plot, setting, characters, and everything about the book I was reading for the next few hours.

we sat there till dusk, watching the sun set into pretty hues of pink, purple, and orange.

“it’s so pretty, isn’t it?” I asked.

“yeah, it is.” I replied to her, eyes fixed on her side profile.

“perce!” y/n called loudly, running towards me.

“heyyyy! n/n, you’re back! how was the quest? did you get hurt or anything?” I asked, hugging her, and then moving back to scan her for injuries.

“i’m fine, perce, all good. I got will to check me out and he cleared me,” she said, grinning. her face was swiped with dirt and grime, but she still looked like she was an ethereal princess who walked out of one of her books. “what? have I got a lot of dirt on my face?”

“nah, you’re cool. ‘s pretty.” I said, and she laughed—my favourite sound in the entire world. “and anyway, you need to change out of these clothes and meet me outside your cabin. I have something for you.”

I changed into casual loose sweatpants and a shirt since it was summer.

ah, summer. one of most romantic seasons ever. the breeze whipping around a girl’s hair, as a boy runs towards her with flowers. the sunlight falling onto their faces as they share a kiss. watching the sun set in pretty shades everyday with each other. that was summer.

everything about it reminded me of percy. watching sunsets, seeing the sunlight fall on his face after he gets out of the water. the flowers, now dry, that he gifted me for every special occasion.

it was hard to admit that I liked him more than I would like any friend. i’d never picked up any hints from him, that might’ve signalled that he liked me, no matter how many of my siblings told me he did.

all friends hold hands, right? and all good friends wish each other a good morning and good night everyday. what was so special? the flowers?

“hey, n/n!” percy’s voice dragged me out of my thoughts. he was dressed in loose shorts and a hawaii button up, and my gods, he looked so gorgeous.

“perce! at least tell me where we’re going now,” I groaned.

“nuh-uh. a surprise is a surprise.” he brought out a blindfold and handed it to me. I raised my eyebrow at him. “put it on. i’ll take you there.”

“I swear to gods, if this turns out to be a prank-”

“shh, it won’t. now put it on,” he promised.

I walked closer to him and put on the blindfold, and he turned me around a few times to make sure I wouldn’t figure out where we’re going. I scoffed at his childish actions.

as he was standing behind me, I felt his warmth on my back. he took my arms at my side and urged me to walk ahead.

he manoeuvred me in different directions and finally stopped after a while.

“you ready, princess?” he asked. the nickname did something to cause butterflies in my stomach.

“yeah,” I whispered.

he took off the blindfold, and it was too bright for a second. I shielded my eyes and groaned, before letting them adjust to the harsh sunlight.

I looked around and saw a huge, fluffy blanket laid down on the grass of the fields. a basket with food was set in one corner and a bouquet in the centre.

“PERCY, HOW DID YO-”

“surprise,” he grinned, as I turned around and hugged him. he’d always given me gifts when I returned from quests, but this was, by far, the best.

“how’d you know all my favourites?” I asked, looking at the 10 romance novels on the blanket.

“oh, annie helped,” he said enthusiastically. “should we sit down and start eating? you can tell me all about the people in your books, and why you like romance books especially, yeah?”

smiling, we sat down on the blankets, and ate away with no care in the world.

as she talked about her books for the next few hours, I could only think about how beautiful her brown eyes were, especially when the sunlight hit them at the correct angle. how soft her lips looked as her mouth moved at a faster pace than her thoughts. how perfect her cheeks were, smiling wide. how amazing she was. how smart and beautiful she was.

when did my feelings of friendship turn into love, for her?

as she continued to speak of the love between her favourite characters, I noticed her longing for a similar love. I could give that to her, couldn’t I?

Arianne knew that. She believed it to her core. Love was something magical and illogical. Her own father, said it when he told her about her mom. Apparently, she was a beautiful young woman that crossed paths with Nicholas Deveraux (her father) during his travels in Europe before officially settle down in the family business in Chicago.

Everyone expected that Nicholas would come back from Europe with a bad tan and a few souvenirs, not a freaking newborn baby daugther.

Nicholas was a loving father, but not a really smart man. That is It's one of the reasons she didn't question when a man showed up at her Chicago home, offering her only daughter a scholarship to a prestigious boarding school.

Arianne came to camp half-blood when she was thirteen years old. After some encounters with several monsters, Chiron himself went to her doorstep in Chicago to get her to camp.

Nevertheless, during her arrival there was an incident. An incident involving three more demigod, a satire and a cyclops.

Arianne was claimed a few weeks after the attack, same as the two demigos that survived. Luke Castellan, son of Hermes, and Annabeth Chase, daugther of Atenea.

And let me tell you, Arianne Deveraux didn't choose to fall for the son of the Traveler. It was fate, or maybe was her mother ? She wasn't really sure. They started off as friends, adapting to camp at same time, being the same age, having the same friends.

Arianne was a nice, generous and beautiful girl, she was the perfect definition of an Aphordite daugther. Everyone that knew her personally (and even those who didn't) held her close to their hearts. Knowing that if you had to trust someone, you could trust Arianne Deveraux.

It was also a flaw, being the goodie older sister of Camp Half-blood.

At sixteen, she was named captain of Aphordite cabin. At the same time, Luke Castellan was named captain of Hermes cabin. They started to spend more time together, attending bonefire together, sparring together... Then the gifts started, Luke liked how her eyes would shine everytime she opened a present, no matter how stupid or simple. He would get her little details, It was his way of showing love, his love language, and her siblings would beg her to ask Luke to please, please, get them things for the cabin.

On the othet hand, Arianne would be (even without her knowing) the best of the presents for Luke. She was kind and beautiful, and gave him all the attetion he craved. And even Annabeth liked her, and would let her do her hair when she was tired. She was a part of their little, broken family.

Sometimes, Ari would cover up for Luke, when he sneak out to get things for other half-bloods and for himself. Like a PlayStation or some chess board for Annabeth, or his little presents for Ari.

Sometimes, Luke would sneak her in the Big House, to use the phone to talk to her father.

Every friday night, the would sit in the shore of the lake, to talk about everything or to be completly silent. Every time the scar on Luke's face hurt, Ari would stay by his side and try to ease the pain. Every time Ari felt like the stress of carring everyones problems and her owns, Luke was there to relieve her.

They were partners in crime, always there for each other.

That, until an enemy emerges from the shadows and resentment.

That, until one betrays the other.

Until Arianne Deveraux feels love and hate in her guts.

so bc they're on my brain and the amount of people acting like clarisse should be hated on the same level as luke is making me go feral so hcs about one of my favorite girls and her annoying brother percy <3

she and percy's names in each other's phones are "rissy" and "prissy" and they absolutely refuse to tell that to anyone

the only time people find out about the nicknames is post-blood of olympus when the head counselors meet with the camp jupiter senate and they go off in private and percy just grins at clarisse and says "hey rissy" and it's one of the only times anyone ever sees her truly cry and they have a teary reunion where they're definitely hugging each other way too tight

clarisse definitely gets closer with sally and paul when percy disappears. she visits more, and even spends the weekends there if she's having a bad time. she also bonds more with annabeth during that time too

post-chariot quest percy and clarisse check in on each other a little more. for them, it's in the form of sparring, so people think they're back to their rivalry, but they're really just having the time of their lives, laughing and grinning at each other

they have a heart-to-heart in the time between battle of the labyrinth and last olympian, where clarisse genuinely apologizes to percy, and they have a talk about everything percy's ever overheard, everything that happened with chris, with ares, with gabe, end it's very very healing for both of them

honestly that's the point where they start to see each other as siblings. percy brings clarisse back to the apartment, and sally and paul immediately just fall in love with her and are ready to adopt her then and there

clarisse and grover are the next ones that sally and paul reveal the pregnancy to, and clarisse tries so hard not to freak out until sally talks about how happy she is that estelle will have two wonderful big sisters to look up to.

GOD when percy first disappears, and clarisse wakes up to the sound of annabeth screaming for her boyfriend. it's the first time since silena's death that she's felt utter and horrifying fear in her heart

clarisse is one of the main campers to go out looking for percy, to the point where she's barely at camp

they send each other the stupidest photos, like i mean the absolute ugliest photos in the entire world, and each of them has a separate folder in their camera roll for it

there's a point during heroes of olympus where clarisse starts calling sally and paul mom and dad, and when percy comes back and it happens in front of him he just gets the biggest, stupidest smile on his face before clarisse punches his arm and shoves him off his chair

clarisse and percy have weekly dinners at sally and paul's <3333 where it's just the four of them + estelle once she's born

percy, texting clarisse after living in nr for a while: "hey i'm visiting mom for the weekend do you want to get lunch"

clarisse: "i hope your bus crashes and you die in a fireball"

also clarisse: "noon @ mcdonalds tomorrow if you're late i'll have a panic attack"

annabeth and chris see their text conversations and half of it is the two of them threatening to kill the other and use every piece of blackmail they have on each other and the other half is the deepest, most emotional conversations they've ever seen

literally no one understands their friendship, the rest of the seven asks annabeth about it one evening after seeing clarisse clothesline percy and steal his food before he sits down beside her and they engage in a quiet, obviously personal coversation that ends in a tight hug and annabeth just shrugs

Also I feel like we offen forget wine isn't the only thing Dionysus is the God of but madness as well. I currently have bad writers block and couldn't currently think of anything else to add so I decided to split it into parts since I needed to post something.

You weren't from this world well......technically you are you were from a part of the world everyone thought was made up just another part of the human imagination......Wonderland . Wonderland was very.....disconnected from actual sane people or large bustling cities like New York. Your mother was probably one of the subjects of the queen of hearts just kinda surviving. Your father isn't exactly normal either he was also never around. Honestly as much as you love your mother it was kinda hard to imagine a God falling for her or really a God falling for anyone in Wonderland because while some of the inhabitants of Wonderland is more sane then others even the more sane ones start to go insane eventually.

Which is why when you were 13 you ran away from home. Although you had no clue where to go or what to do now you had left Wonderland. You're clothes and mismatched socks probably also made you stand out to by standers because in real life on Earth the other humans weren't used to seeing people dress in bright colors and patterns unless celebrating. After a few days of wandering aimlessly you ran into help or rather help ran into you.

You were desperately scrounging around for food thinking maybe it wasn't such a good idea to leave home when you felt someone run smack into you causing you both to tumble towards the ground. "Oh my pan! I'm so sorry." A male voice said. He had ...goat horns? Ehh not the weirdest thing you've ever seen. "Are those horns really or .....?" You asked. "They're real. Oh I'm Grover. " Grover replied. You weren't sure what to say or do and that's how you met Grover. After about a week of traveling with Grover is when you met Luke, Thalia and Annabeth.

" Who are you why should I trust you?" You questioned. You got a closer look at them the seven year old girl had grey eyes , black hair and brown skin, the other gir who looked about a year younger than you so 12 had choppy short black hair , blue eyes and is white. She pushed the younger seven year old behind her. " Thalia I can protect myself!" The seven year old exclaimed. While the two girls were arguing you managed to sneak away not noticing the male following you.

" Grover!" You exclaimed finally making it back to the very stressed looking satyr. Grover rushed over to you. " Y/n there you are! You were gone for an hour I was worried I was calling your name but no reply and I didn't want to leave the fire unattended. Your not hurt are you?" Grover asked like a panicked father looking over you to make sure you didn't have any new injuries. " Hey Grover I'm ok. I'm ok." You replied. " Pan Y/n you had me so worried!" Grover exclaimed. "LUKE!" The older female voice Thalia called out causing You and Grover to look in the direction of Thalia's voice and there stood the male that had been with the 2 younger females.

I've always been thinking of this but I just wondered.

How would everything look of Percy was female?

I've always wondered this.

Like everything stays the same Except Percy is Female named Andy Jackson

Pretty sure I have seen a dozen fanfics that go like that. Personally, I'm not a fan of gendebending, but it's a popular concept.

Several things come to mind, the obvious things.

Remember how Percy was gravely underestimated at the start? I think it would be a bit more prevalent here. I am not implying that certain characters are more misogynistic, it's more along the lines of not putting a young girl in even more danger.

I think more characters would be prone to sympathizing with a female Percy. Luke mainly, Annabeth too, other characters like Thalia, Jason to name a few.

The dynamic with Hunters and Amazons would be completely different. And a female Percy would drill in their heads the grave consequences of blind hatred of men and misandry and coming from a female, it would be more of a wake up call than anything else.

Percy and Zoe dynamic would have been even more interesting and closer than one in the books, albeit less meaningful since Zoe wouldn't be overcoming her stigma about men.

I think certain characters like Nico, Rachel, and Annabeth, who all have/had a crush on Percy, will explore a slightly different dynamic or an even more intimate one with female Percy. Nico might also not feel as disgraced or shamed by his own righteous feelings towards Percy.

Certain characters like Leo or Piper might be attracted to female!Percy (which they were originally not cause self explanatory).

The not so obvious things but more important things: (trauma coming your way)

Poseidon would be more protective and slightly more guilty if female!Percy ends up resembling Sally more. Cause now the sea god knows not only did he abandon his queen among mortals, he also abandoned his little princess, his only mortal daughter.

(Probably similar dynamics with Seafam. Especially Triton and Amphitrite)

Now, we come to Gabe. We know what a despicable human scum he is to Sally but a female!Percy, a young girl? Alone with Gabe and his friends? Since 6 years of age? I think we can all imagine the horrors.

Think of how all firstborn children of the big three, the direct results of oathbreaking, would then be female. All women. A new era of female led army of demigods, directly challenging certain misogynistic history of the Olympians. (Thalia, Andromeda(female!Percy, Bianca).

Think of how Zeus(other Olympians, too), with his unending ego and despicable nature, will fall at last at the hands of women. After how he uses women, as some sort of tool and a means of venting, a fitting end for him.

I may not like gender bending, but this has its merits as it becomes not only about changing oppressive ways of the Olympian Gods but also about defying patriarchy.

It would make some lovely additions to the essence of the series itself so it's not a bad idea at all.

These are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Will reblog if I remember more. But anyway, I'm pretty sure the fandom will be filling this up with headcanons anyway.

Conner Stoll Headcanons

-He sometimes forgets Travis isn’t really his twin.

-As do most people that know them. 

-He’s so sick of the jokes about his last name he and Travis just pretend to not understand anymore.

-The poison sprayed T-shirt given to the Hunter Phoebe, stopping her from going on the quest to save Annabeth wasn’t just a prank on the stern girl. It was on purpose, so that Percy could go instead, but no one really realized that.  

-Once he moved to New York years after the books ended, he rented a flat with a smashed in window and a leaky bathtub. He had to live off one dollar pizza slices for about a year [he loved them] until he saved up and stole enough to afford a better flat with three bedrooms. One was for him, one was for Cecil, and one was for Katie when she visited with Travis. He has a bunk bed that he shares with Travis, but he makes his brother sleep on the top bunk like they did at CHB.

-Unknown to him, Travis’s room at Camp Jupiter has a bunk bed too, and he sleeps on the top every night. He’s studying Law. 

-Once Conner was able to pay rent by the deadlines and had steady shifts at work [and once his diet had gotten a bit better, although pizza slice Friday is a ritual] Chiron finally let Cecil move in.

-It was only really because Cecil wanted to go to highschool properly, and finish it this time instead of being chased from the year ten open day by feral harpy’s. He works at Starbucks part time and Conner drives him to every shift and then Iris messages CHB and talks to his friends in his car while he waits for Cecil to finish. 

-He’s actually really disappointed when Cecil buys a motorbike and doesn’t need lifts to Starbucks anymore, but then his little brother needs someone to pick him up because he crashed into a phone box and he’s back to annoyed chauffeurTM again.

-He owns the shittiest car ever, like, one of those falling apart pickup trucks with fluffy dice and he actually keeps it pretty clean because he’s so proud of it. He calls it ‘Mater’, from the movie Cars, because it’s Cecil’s favorite movie. It’s also covered in bumper stickers. Like, nearly every part of it, and people just hand them to him sometimes to fill in a gap. 

-He joined the local track team, and he’s actually pretty good.

-His guilty pleasure is Taylor Swift’s 1989 album and eating peanut butter MnM’s by the bag even though he hates real MnM’s.  

-He never really wanted to go to University, and the strictness of Camp Jupiter would’ve killed him, so he got a job at the lolly store Sally used to work at, but was fired when he let too many little kids shoplift. 

-Now he’s working at a backpackers lodge instead, and he actually really likes meeting all the traveling people that come through, even though he knows it’s because of his dad. His relationship with Hermes is questionable, mainly because of Luke. 

-He loved his brother but after the Titan war and all the shame put on their cabin he hated Luke with a passion, as did most of his siblings, even if they sort of did understand why he did it all anyway. Conner wouldn’t have joined the Titan Army, but he knows that if the majority of Camp Halfblood was to stage something like that again he probably would. He’s loyal to his siblings and friends, not the gods. 

-Chris Rodriguez agrees on that part. They’ve talked about it a lot. 

-Chris stayed over on the fold out couch enough for him to get a toothbrush in the bathroom and his favorite cereal in the pantry, which is weet-bix bites with honey and blueberries [if someone went to the shops for something other than pink monster energy drinks and grain waves]. He stills lives at Camp Half-blood with Clarrise most of the time and he’s going to University online but has to come in once or twice a week for tests and practical classes. He wanted to be a paramedic but he knew that would be too much stress on him and so would being a therapist.

-Chris is studying nursing and catches a ride with Pollux [who is studying to be a paramedic] sometimes.  

-Then Pollux began staying over sometimes as well.

-And of course there were times when Clarrise would come into the city with her boyfriend to find late night underground fight clubs and visit Coach Hedge [he was the satyr that brought her to CHB].

-Six months pass and Conner’s apartment is a mini Camp Halfblood stop by.

-This is confirmed when Lou Ellen bursts in at three am with a hellhound on her heels and the app Malcom Pace had invented that directed demigods to nearby safe havens when they were in danger.                                                                                                               She explained that his flat had come up and she needed to talk to Austin [who was sleeping on the couch] about how somebody from his cabin had stolen her voodoo doll of Will that they liked to tickle while he was stitching someone up in the Infirmary. 

-He’s accepted it now but sometimes when a random kid shows up covered in blood he sends them to Sally’s apartment [she’s on the app as well]. There’s only so many blow up mattresses and showers long enough to scrub monster grit off a twenty something year old can afford. 

-He gets promoted at the traveler’s lodge, and ends up sending a lot of demigods, nymphs, and satyrs there as well. 

-Chris’s nursing skills help out a lot more than they were hoping.

-So does having Pollux the paramedic on speed dial. 

-He pirates anything he watches, and his favorites are The Last Of Us and Ferris Bueller's day off. He is obligated to watch Cars at least once a week with Cecil, but his favorite Disney movie is The BFG [it used to be the Lion King but then Luke happened and it hit too far home]. 

-He also really liked watching The Hunger Games but then he realized what it reminded him of and now he steers clear. 

-That, and the fact the Castor and Pollux trope is used. 

-Conner hates musicals.

imagine percy and a daughter of pluto being destined to fall in love - so in love that there's a prophecy about it. something that describes a love so strong that it saves the world. percy doesn't know a thing about it, but lupa told the girl about it in private when she was a kid, and that it clearly describes her in it.

so when percy gets dropped into camp jupiter, and she feels a connection with him so strong that it's almost unbearable, she is desperate not to fall in love with him.

she wants to save the world with her leadership and talent, not by falling in love with some guy. she's an esteemed praetor, the most skilled halfblood at camp jupiter, and she wants to be known for more than just falling in love. she doesn't even get how falling in love with him is supposed to change the world.

"lupa," she breaths, in a voice softer than a whisper, as she stares at percy from a distance. he is sparring someone, and winning. "tell me it's not him."

"it's your destiny," echoes in her head.

"him," she reiterates with a scoff.

"i'm just as surprised as you. but you'll do it. even if you don't want to, you will."

"i'll take that as a challenge."

so she literally doesn't want to fall in love with him because she's too prideful. and she's too much of a girlboss slay strong independent fighter shadow-sorcerer queen to back down to a prophecy.

meanwhile percy is absolutely besotted with her from the moment he steps into camp jupiter. of course he can't remember annabeth, only in snippets, but he loses those thoughts the moment he sees her.

he makes it goddamn clear how attracted he is to her. he constantly flirts with her, pesters her, challenges her to fights. she's got some pretty name like valeria and he calls her "val", which she hates. she's really hot, but in that hauntingly beautiful tim burton sort of way: big dark eyes, sharp cheeks, pouted lips and olive skin.

he doesn't understand why she hates him, considering the entire camp has already fallen under his charm. but that doesn't stop him from trying.

"let me take you out."

"you lost me on 'out.'"

"i didn't take you for an introvert. you're always shouting at people and fighting them so i thought you'd want to do something active."

"i'm not an introvert. i just don't want to go anywhere outside with you."

"how about inside?"

"absolutely not. you are not coming in my cohort."

"how about mine?"

"no."

"promise i'll make it worth your time."

"how oxymoronic. if you're involved, it can never be worth my time."

"did you just call me a moron?"

she is unable to contain her snort. "you're an idiot."

his sea-green eyes soften. "gods, val, you're so beautiful when you smile."

though she doesn't want to, she finds herself staring at him when he's not looking. she starts waiting impatiently for him to pester her, she starts looking forward to their brief chats. she feels butterflies when they graze arms. she likes the way he smirks at her at the end of a fight when she's beaten him to the floor. she likes how close their faces are. she lets him manipulate her into mini dates, like walks by the water, swimming with cute whales, cooking blue food for the campers.

she starts to fall for him and it scares her so much that she distances herself. percy finds out about the prophecy and finally understands it all.

one day they are fighting a massive monster that has somehow infiltrated the camp and he confesses her feelings to her, knowing a fighting scenario is the only place where she'd be close enough for long enough to actually listen to him.

"i know what you think of me," he starts.

"if you did you wouldn't be speaking to me right now."

"no. i know what you actually think."

"focus on the monster, seabrain."

"i know you like me."

"what?"

"well, kinda. i mean i think you hate me too. but i also don't think it's that different from liking me."

"then you have a warped perspective on relationships."

"admit it."

"percy."

"admit that you like me."

"there is a monster in front of us and you want to talk about this?"

"the whole camp wants us to talk about this. do you see anyone else fighting? no! they're too busy waiting for you to give me an answer!"

"everyone get off your asses and fight. right now."

nobody moves.

"don't be like that. just because everyone can see how good we'd be, except for you -- "

"don't."

"fuck it. i'm in love with you. i've been in love with you since the day i met you -- "

"no."

" -- uh, yes. i wanna fucking be with you. i mean, i wanna do a lot of things to you, but to be with you? i wouldn't need anything else. just you, for gods' sake."

from then on, they're the it-couple on campus. they're always sneaking off and kissing, and percy is constantly all over her, kissing her neck, whisking her away.

everything is perfect until annabeth comes to claim him. they end up in camp half-blood with annabeth not knowing about her and percy. she watches as annabeth whisks percy away. percy's head is confused with his head and his heart.

she tells herself that she shouldn't have let herself fall in love with him. instead of letting percy break up with her first, she breaks up with him, saying that this is now real life. she will be known for more than just love, and he can have the love of his life annabeth back.

but percy doesn't feel that way anymore about annabeth. how could he? annabeth overhears the conversation and breaks up with him, understanding that he has feelings for someone else. he apologises over and over again because this is his best friend, but she accepts that they are only each other's first loves. and not the last.

percy wants her back.

the two camps are united in their decision to get them back together. although they don't have a lot in common, both camps adore either percy or the pluto girl -- they are their leaders -- and they want them together.

so percy makes another scene.

"i challenge you to a duel," he announces loudly to her, as campers gather around.

"jackson, i'm busy."

"i know. re-training people from my camp because you romans think you know better. fair enough. but i guess you'll have to re-train me, considering i'm actually greek."

"stop trying to wind me up."

"so it's working?"

"isn't it a rule at camp half-blood that children of the big three can't duel?"

"that's never stopped us before."

"it can this time."

"are you scared of losing?"

"get over here, jackson."

"don't worry. i'll go easy on you, deathbreath."

"that doesn't mean i will."

she swipes at him with her dagger, and creates a small cut down his arm.

"fuck."

"not so cocky now. stop missing, jackson, you haven't even grazed me."

"i don't want to hurt you."

"come on. hurt me."

"no."

"it's a fight, not a dance. hurt me."

"no."

"fine, don't! gods, i'm not going to fight you if you're not going to fight back. just leave me alone. i don't wanna be near you. can't you just let me be?"

"i've hurt you enough. i know i have."

"i don't know what you're talking about."

"but i promise you. i will never hurt you ever again. i will never make you feel anything but happy. i will do everything in my fucking power to make sure of it."

she laughs shortly. "it seems like everyone in our two camps will do anything to make sure of it."

there, she realises it.

she realises that them falling in love was the gods' sure way of getting the two camps to respect each other. swapping jason and percy around was only the start - to make sure the camps knew of each other. but her part? it was to make sure that both camps would love each other, would stick together no matter what, the same way her and percy would through anything.

their friends refer to her as the queen of both camps, as it is her that has truly brought them together. although it's not what she had planned to be infamous for, she accepts it, knowing that she has gained more than she sought out:

"you have completely confused my perception of reality," he continues, as if she hasn't already made her mind up. "i dream about you. all the time. every night when i go to bed i dream about you. but most of the time it's in the day, when i see you, when i smell you, when i know you're near. i knew long before that prophecy that you were meant for me."

"me too, perce. all of it. me too."

so they get together and everyone is super happy. even nico does a slow clap bcus he likes how it's the most dramatic thing he's seen. the gods are like crying up there watching them get back together like they're some kind of soap opera that they manufactured. but it doesn't matter to them bcus they're living their best life.

EP 4 was just mostly talking and conversations, but there was so much depth THAT I MUST TALK ABOUT IT.

I could literally feel the anguish exuding out of Sally trying to teach Percy to swim

Ngl i was a lil skeptical about azrien’s acting but hearing that scream changed everything

“Hey, you still sleeping?” “Yes” she’s so relatable i love it

i thought we were going to wait until the zebra truck scene for the trauma bonding but we got some of it now which is cool and also makes me wonder whether they’re going to take it to a whole level in the zebra truck scene

I kinda like how annabeth knows so much about grover their dynamic in the show is just so chef’s kiss

I dont know if the whole “thalia made me earn it” thing is canon but its an interesting spin on their dynamic

Its interesting how they changed frederick chase in the show. In the book frederick never wanted annabeth but in the show frederick loved annabeth. It makes more sense now that percy asks her to go back especially in the books, that was very controversial to have annabeth seem like she was overexaggerating about what she went through with them

I don’t think the writers knew what to do with grover when percy and annabeth were talking so they just made annabeth a little unnecessarily rude for some reason?? At least its better than the movies, where annabeth and grover just WALK AWAY from hermes and percy

SUMMARY: Right along with her twin brother, Ari was used to being “the weird kid” at every school she went to. With their shared ADHD, Percy’s wild imagination and talent for impulsive actions that got him in trouble, and Ari’s autism and obsession with Greek history and myths, the Jackson siblings were almost destined to be the outcasts in any class, very rarely making friends and only having each other and their mom to truly lean on. And when they wind up getting kicked out of yet another school because Percy supposedly pushed a bully into a fountain - which he didn’t, really, Ari was looking right at him when it had happened - Ari imagines it’s going to be the same as always: spend a little while at home with her mom and her crappy stepdad, go on their cabin trip like every year, then head on to the next school and resume the routine all over again. Only, that is not at all what happens - instead, in the course of about a week, Ari learns that she and Percy are the children of an actual Greek god, her mom sort-of dies in front of her while her brother kills a Minotaur, is told that their uncle somehow thinks they’ve stolen his prized possession and is ready to start a war because of it, and has to set off on a quest to find that prized possession with her brother and a very cute girl who doesn’t seem to like her or Percy very much. Oh, and she also learns that Percy’s best friend is apparently some kind of goat creature, which is… she doesn’t quite know what to make of that.

Also the AuDHD rep we all deserve; her special interest is mainly Greek mythology, but she also really loves embroidery and sewing and her jackets and backpack are covered with patches she did herself. She also gets really into marine biology after learning she’s Poseidon’s daughter.

The braincell of her and Percy’s sibling duo most of the time; she’s a lot quieter and more observant than him, and her autism compounded with her ADHD tends to make her less impulsive, although she’s very supportive of all the spiteful stuff he does to the gods.

Obviously she and Annabeth don’t get together for a while, but Ari pretty much falls head over heels for her the second they meet and they’re an adorable badass couple when they do get together.

Sapphic Summer Day One- Godly parent swap/First Kiss

Daughter of Poseidon! Piper (and son of Aphrodite! Percy, but that's not as relevant)

Piper wipes a hand across her brow. It’s hot, even if the humidity doesn’t affect her. Her shirt sticks to her skin, and she can tell she’ll need to wash her hair tonight. She may have lived in New York for almost 3 years, but she still misses California’s dry summer heat. 

“Done already, Seaweed Brain?” Annabeth calls from across the arena. 

“You wish, Wise Girl,” she yells back. Camp has been in session for only a week, but well. Being the only camper in your cabin has a few perks. Namely, being able to choose her own activities without worrying about annoying anyone. 

The rest of the Athena cabin is here too, sparring amongst themselves. Turning her head, she spots Malcolm guiding one of the younger kids through the motions. 

“Hey. Seriously. You good?” Annabeth settles her elbow on Piper’s shoulder, and she just barely stops herself from slamming her fist into the other’s stomach. 

“Yeah. Just got distracted.” 

“Liar.” It’s fond though, so Piper leans back into Annabeth. “Why don’t we grab some water? It’s not a good idea for a daughter of Poseidon to get dehydrated.”

“Whatever you say, Wise Girl.”

Annabeth rolls her eyes and tosses a water bottle to her. She catches the next one too, and opens it. The water pours down her body, and Piper exhales. The water gives her a burst of energy, almost like she’s downed a Monster or two. Annabeth snorts. 

Piper sticks her tongue out and lunges forward in the same motion, Riptide flickering out to slice at Annabeth. She parries, dagger glinting bronze in the sun. 

“Hm. Smart.”

“What? You think I can’t strategize?”

“Mm, it isn’t normally your style, is it?” Honey curls fall to the side, and Piper’s mouth dries. Annabeth uses her momentary distraction against her, and she ends up pinned to the ground. The dagger taps her throat. “Done.” She smells like vanilla and Piper can’t breathe. 

Annabeth moves away, and pulls her up. “Huh. For someone so good on the battlefield, you really suck at sparring.” Piper flushes. She’s not wrong. 

“Well. It’s different when you’re not just fighting for yourself.” 

She opens her mouth to respond, something soft in those gray eyes. The conch blasts, and Annabeth wilts. “Oh. Lost track of time. Come on, there’s always room at your table.” Piper trips over her feet in her haste to follow, cursing under her breath as she almost falls. 

“Can’t believe you’re just offering my table up.” 

“What? It’s not like Chiron cares.” 

Piper huffs. “It’s about the principle.”

“Ooh, now there’s a five dollar word,” she lilts, laughing. 

“Shut up, Wise Girl.” 

“Make me, Seaweed Brain.” 

They both freeze. Heat crawls up her neck and Annabeth goes red. “Right, so. Lunch?” 

“Yeah.” Annabeth nods quickly, decisively. They walk to the pavilion, and she practically falls into her usual seat at the Poseidon table. There’s already several plates, one for each of their friends. Annabeth snorts into her drink. “Should have figured they’d catch on eventually.”

She smiles and takes a bite of her sandwich. Camp food, literally, is magical. It tastes just like the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches her dad would make when she couldn’t sleep. 

It’s weird having the cabin rules not be strictly enforced—ever since the Giant War, there’s really not a point. 

The table isn’t quiet for long. Leo and Percy take their usual seats with a typical outburst of excitement, both of them gushing about what happened during arts and crafts. Jason sits next to her a little bit later, and smiles. He looks tired, dark circles only highlighted by his golden glasses. 

They’d dated for a little while—both of them joke about their bout of comphet. She’d broken up with him after the Second Giant War, realizing she was lesbian. And also in love with Annabeth. He’s come out to her as aroace shortly after, and they’d agreed to try and stay friends.

She was grateful that it wasn’t awkward between them. He might be her ex, but Jason was honestly one of her best friends. Maybe not as close as Annabeth, but still. 

“You okay? Didn’t see you at breakfast.”

Jason sighed. “Jupiter decided to send me an Iris Message at 5 am. And then lectured me about still being asleep.”

“At 5?”

Percy leaned over. “Take it from me, the gods aren’t always great with mortal time. Dad’s a little better about it, since they love the concept of beauty sleep, but still.” 

“Yeah, about that. Do they really not care how often Aphrodite contacts you? Mom said Zeus and Hera threw a fit when she wanted to try and help out.” Annabeth rested her chin on her palm, stormy eyes intense. 

Percy shrugs. Gods, his eyeliner is perfect. “Dad kind of does whatever they want? I think it’s just because they aren’t ‘interfering with humanity’ so it doesn’t count. I really don’t know though.” 

“Not any weirder than last year,” Leo says, eyes crinkling. Piper reaches across Jason to fistbump him, grinning. 

“Could anything be weirder than last year? Giants, cross-continental switches, memory loss, storm spirits, and I’m probably forgetting something.”

“Don’t tempt the Fates. Seriously. I don’t want anything to be weirder than last year.” Annabeth shivers. 

Piper glances around, but it’s Jason who pushes the conversation away. “Have any of you tried the new lava wall challenge?”

Annabeth meets with Piper after the campfire, slipping off to the beach. As older campers, they had a later curfew than the kids. Plus, it wasn’t like they couldn’t take care of themselves. 

Piper is sitting on the sand, facing the water. She sits next to her, stretching her legs. She’s pleasantly sore from the lava wall and helping with her cabin’s pegasus lessons. 

They lean into each other, and Piper’s head hits her shoulder. Annabeth slides an arm around her, and rests her cheek on Piper’s head. Even after everything, this is her best friend. 

Children of Athena and children of Poseidon are supposed to hate each other. To carry on their parents' rivalry, to prove that one god is better. Athena is controlled and precise. Poseidon is rash and destructive. 

They are not their parents. 

They turn almost at the same time, and their lips press together. Annabeth exhales softly. Her lips are chapped and she smells like salt water. 

Piper pulls back after a moment, sea green eyes wide. “This is…this is serious, right?”

“Yeah. I’m serious.”

They kiss again, and again. Piper ends up in her lap, hands holding her face in place. She’s ethereal in the moonlight, a sea breeze gently moving her hair. Annabeth kisses her again, and smiles.

Best Young Adult Books

Hi guys, today as my first blog post I wanted to recommend the best Young Adult Books!

Percy Jackson By Rick Riorden 

Genre: Fantasy

This is a Young Adult Fantasy story that pulls from Greek Mythology. This book has such an awesome adventurous plot and the urban fantasy world is to die for! And even though this book is written for a middle school or children's audience, teens and adults can enjoy this series all the same. 

This is the story of troubled Percy Jackson who is going to a boarding school in New York. He’s always been able to see things that other people can’t. Until one day he is sent to Camp Half Blood, a summer camp for children of the Greek Gods, he is sent there in order to escape the Minotaur, which is a monster he has been seeing. He then discovers that the father he has never known is a Greek God. And someone has framed him for stealing Zesus’s lighting bolt. With the help of Annabeth the child of Athena and a satyr named Grover, they sent out on an epic adventure across New York to find the real lightning thief. 

I thought this book was good so I rated it four stars. 

The Hunger Games By Suzanne Collins

Genre: Fantasy

This is a young Adult fantasy/science fiction novel. About a teen girl in a post Apocalyptic world. This book is filled with action packed scenes. 

This is the story of sixteen Katniss Everdeen. She is living in a futuristic world called Panem, where the whole country is divided into 12 Districts. Originally there were 13 but the last district was destroyed by the government for starting a rebellion. And because of that rebellion the government started the Hunger Games. In each district, a random boy and girl are chosen to fight to the death with each other, in order to survive and to get luxuries for their district. The government does the Hunger Games to control the people, so they wouldn’t rebel again. Anyway Katniss Everdeen goes to the reaping (the random selection of the Hunger Games) and her twelve year old sister Prim is chosen. But Katniss volunteers to go in her sisters’ place in order to save her life. Once Katniss is in the games she will have to fight for her life including against Peeta, her crush. 

I thought this book was also good, I rated it 4 stars. 

Twilight By Stephine Meyer

Genre: Fantasy

This is a fantasy book for Young Adult Audiences with a heavy romantic plot. This is a paranormal/supernatural story with Vampires. This is an urban fantasy story with teen characters. 

Bella Swan has just moved in with her father, away from her home in Arizona and to Forks, Washington. A sleepy old town with a secret. On her first day in biology class she sits next to Edward Cullen, A mysterious boy who is utterly cruel to her at first. But then, suddenly, he turns kind. And Bella develops feelings for him. But soon she realizes Edward isn’t human. 

I gave this book four stars. 

The Fault In Our Stars By John Green

Genre: Contemporary 

This is a young adult contemporary novel. The teen characters are very realistic. The novel deals with coming of age themes as well as love and death. 

Hazel Lancaster has Lung Cancer. And her parents want to get her out of the house and make new friends so they send her to a cancer support group where she meets Augustus Waters, (or Gus for short). They become friends and fall in love. Hazal loves to read and has a book that she adores and wants to learn the ending of. But the author lives in Amsterdam. Gus uses his wish from the Make A wish foundation, which allows him and Hazel to go to Amsterdam together. But then tragedy hits. 

I gave this book four stars. 

The Mortal Instruments Series By Cassandra Clare 

Genre: Fantasy

This is a fantasy book made for Young Adult audiences, with a heavy romance subplot. This book is also a paranormal/supernatural book with an urban fantasy setting. This book also has vampires and magic.

15-year-old Clary Fray is at a teen club for a halloween party with her guy best friend Simon when there is a murder by a bunch of teens with strange tattoos. Even more strange is that only Clary can see the teens. And then Clary's mother is taken by unknown forces. Clary then discovers that the teens are Shadow Hunters, (Basically demon hunters.) And Clary learns that the murder was them taking down a demon that looked like a human and that a demon took her mother. Clary learns that she is a shadow hunter and tries to get her mother back. 

I rated this book four stars.
