Right. I agree one hundred percent with this.

This fandom has existed since a time where misogyny “wasn’t a problem” (it was OBVIOUSLY a problem but it was more widespread and people didn’t think of it as much as we do now. Ofc there were people that tried to fight against it, and they were frowned upon, but thats slightly beside the point).

The point being that we have brought with us this misogynistic sight on the Sherlock Holmes fandom since it has been embodied since the start of it. And that’s not good, we should DEFINITELY stop that.

But the tag I made was only to show that it wasn’t the ENTIRE moment I wanted to highlight, I wanted to highlight the hand-holding. And that’s it.

Maybe I shouldn’t have put it in the way that we should ignore the woman. And yes she doesn’t threaten anything.

But I also think some people need to take things they see online slightly less fucking seriously (says I writing a small paragraph)

Because at the end of the day it’s just a fandom. It’s not in real life.

And i genuinely don’t think most of us are thinking that deep about what we say.

the Gansey family + sarchengsey lunch scene is interesting from a Gansey’s-relationship-with-his-family-sucks-so-much-on-god perspective but like. It could be a much better chapter than it is I wish there was jumping around in povs because there are these moments of Gansey noticing in periphery that Blue is Not having a good time there or at least is having some uncomfortable interactions with his parents (including them being like oh what a lovely exotic cadence about her accent which :/. if your reading Blue as a WoC that’s deeply uncomfortable if your just reading her as white it’s still annoying and condescending and classist and you know she hated it) but the focus isn’t really on her it’s on the Gansey-Helen convo which yk I enjoy for some of my last AG crumbs but I don’t like that there’s more emphasis placed on how the family’s responses to Blue effect Gansey rather than how she feels about them. I would have liked the scene in split pov or just a follow up about it in the next Blue pov.

Remembering once again how much I dislike Edelgard von 3H as a character, and how I don’t think she’s a good example of morally grey writing at all and how when I was full force in this fandom, it felt like you weren’t allowed to hold that opinion. It was very “you can dislike her but admit she has good writing.” But genuinely— I have writing objections.

I low key think that Rhea is by far the best 3H/W3H ever did a morally grey character but has it been long enough to voice such a thing? Will I get pounced???

I am wired to develop hatred against any character the author doesn't only favour but tries to shove down our throats, which is why I will always hate Daemon, Tyrion, Bloodraven (Blackwoods in general). It helps that all these are despicable men with very little redeeming qualities. Then there is Arya who as a whole is a hero, despite her progressively darker nature, but I don't hate her because she is a child, I just don't give two fucks about her.

like i definitely get you, we all know i have bitched about tyrion being overwritten ie just relying too much on his pov to move the plot along so the scenes can get repetitive (how many scenes do we need of him and shae fucking and feeling weird afterwards) or how some of arya’s time at harrenhal drags a lil bit but imma be honest i don’t quite understand when people are like “he made this character too cool so i’m gonna spite hate them” like everyone’s so mad about how there’s no way we should know what dialogue was exchanged before daemon and aemond died and meanwhile i’m over here rambling on the phone to my cousin like “and then daemon did a sick backflip offa caraxes’ neck and had his sword angled Perfectly to get aemond right through his good eye it was awesome” aksjdjd I like to laugh at how obvious his favorites are but it’s HIS story i think it’s ultimately fine if he thinks tyrion is cool as fuck or wants to give me like 5 chapters in a row where arya is just chillin in braavos, if it bothers me i put my audio on 2x speed 😎
